Note
You said that you were going to continue work on commissions, but if it isn't a burden to you, I wanted to ask whether or not you were willing to accept new ones? 🥺 I just love your art so much, I'm addicted. 😭😭😭
Soon as I’m done the last two full coloured comms, I wouldn’t mind accepting one more if it’s a full coloured commission. The two I’m currently working on finishing both have multiple pages so that’s part of why I’m such a snail,,, along with getting art motivation back, I’m just trying not to burn out again so soon. ;0;
But for lined or sketched art suggestions or commissions, I think I’ll always be willing to accept them just because they’re things I genuinely have fun doing and noticed I can pump em out easy depending on what’s being requested. They’ll take a bit but I do not mind.

Digital Sketchbook (06.20.2024)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm about to make a big update post for my main website, but I didn't feel like using up storage on some preview shots. At the top, we've got progress on my 2d model for my YouTube channel, along with the many outfits I've made for her. Once I'm done with all the shading, I can break down the pieces and start the rigging process. I've probably got more outfits than I need, and there are some side characters I may make that I've had bouncing around in my head and on my channel for a long time that I'll probably also make, but once the bulk of it is done, I can focus on rigging while that happens.
On the bottom left, we've got a new Hesiodos (Hesiod) piece I'm working on. I wasn't happy with how the first one turned out, and honestly, I need to get back into the flow of more realistic works. Painting pieces directly from photo reference is easy enough, but it's a bit more difficult using a marble statue, as I did with my first piece, and more difficult still drawing from the mind while trying to translate those references as accurately as possible. I'm also using a more gouache-inspired brush set for this one. I've been super fascinated with acrylic gouache lately and am planning to start doing traditional pieces again in marker, watercolor, and acrylic gouache. I've been really into the work of Amina Illustration and I'm A Wonder.
My YCH (Your Character Here) commission piece "Little Witch" still has 5 available slots left on my Etsy shop (which is discounted from what you would pay for a custom commission with those specifications) - but I had also started on a number of other ones back in autumn of last year: A little graveyard chibi pin-up, a chibi girl holding a pumpkin spice latte, a woman kissing the cheek of a scarecrow, and a vampiric take on Klimt's The Kiss. I also started on a few general ones: one inspired by the style of Bratz, one inspired by the style of Monster High, and one inspired by the lo-fi girl. I'll still be wrapping them up and making them available whenever they're complete, but they aren't at the forefront of my workload at the moment - especially since I'm planning on moving away from Etsy.
Along that line, I also have plans to work on a couple of emote, clip art, and marketing packs, some stickers (including sticker sheets for my planners), a magickally-accurate Sailor Moon chibi series, and a couple of fan oracle decks. First on my to-do list, however, is a ton of website graphics for my new websites, the next batch of designs and styles for the Luxe Gothique Boutique, and a rework of my Khthonic Wiccan art series, as it's something else I just wasn't satisfied with.
And that's just artwork! I have a lot of writing in the works now, as well. I've got two books, my Mythos Reimagined series, and my webcomic, A Little Town Called Lorauvial, in the works, as well. This is a lot, I know, but I'm making progress each day. I just want to make so many things. I can't possibly keep it all locked away forever. 👻💚
Anyway, stay tuned for my update article. I'm going to be getting on that shortly with info on my other goings-on. Be there or be square.

UPDATED 3x - VOTE NO ON JOSEPHINE COUNTY MEASURE 17-116 (PART 4 – SUMMARY)
PART 1 PART 2 PART 3
5/5 - This has been updated to reflect my questions that were responded to at the 5/2 meeting. Yes, although I was yelled at and asked to leave, I didn't and got some of my questions answered, IN BOLD. I am still investigating and waiting for someone at the CRF to point out specifically what I have wrong, they just point out I am not a lawyer and have not had one review what I wrote. 5/6 - I changed the precinct divisions to honor the State Directive 2021-1 (I will verify with the voters in districts per the sheet Jane S. gave me. I understand this is NOT a legal count; the population is legal, but that's all I have now).
To reiterate a typical election year CLICHÉ, “THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN OUR LIFETIME.” Strongly research before voting; you see the only way to save the county from State CONTROL. Once you research BOTH sides and logically think about how it affects you, you must agree that the above statement is NOT a CLICHÉ.
In summary, there are THREE PARTS to why I am an emphatic NO VOTE, and are summarized here:
THE BIGGEST PROBLEM – Loss of “Home Rule” for major protections. ORS 203 is very clear about how we have the “highest degree of local discretionary authority” – per National Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (PART 3) (PART 1) (SOS SITE) ***** Jane S from the 5/2 meeting said this only applies to the running of the county, Will investigate further, but consider "running the county" includes protecting it's citizens rights.
The opponents imply that the STATE LAW “overrides” our COUNTY CHARTER/LAW, but this is false. As long as there is no conflict between the US and State Constitution, the COUNTY WINS. (PART3) (ORS SECTION 203) *** Larry said the charter is unenforceable. From what I understand NO Charter is enforceable, but rather a framework for laws the county produces and how the government is run, this includes passing laws or enforcing Salem's laws which violate the US and OR Constitutions.
It does not truly provide rural representation as advertised (PART 1) ***The CRF claims the Clerk, the attorney and the state all formed the map. The map violates the State Directive 7 times and IF they included a RURAL vs GP City divide this would be moot.
It most likely COSTS the county more money (PART 1) (JoCoGOP notes) *** The CRF will neither admin or deny this will be the case, since in their documentation for the site say the savings will go to pay a City Manager. Also, their solution for the excess of spending in the transition is to RECALL John West.
It ends SECOND AMENDMENT protections provided in the Charter (PART 1) *** Section 29-1 where everyone is all up in arms (pun intended) again is a framework for the operation and the laws. This will make County Code 9.25 Firearms will be on the "Chopping block."
It ends PARENTAL RIGHTS protections provided in the Charter (PART 1) *** Again this is "unenforceable" in court, but the courts may feel that the county acted outside the charter when enforcing something that conflicts this section.
The supporters of this Measure (https://www.jococrg.org/) have flawed documentation and “gloss over” major details that conflict with most in the county. (PART 2)
Although the County Manager sounds logical, the Measure misses many details like how much he is paid. So, this NEW Charter creates a new level of bureaucracy, a person that is costly and difficult to find. History shows us good managers  are difficult to fire and most likely have a very GOLDEN parachute built into their contract (PART2) *** A "profession" manager with a "degree" does not necessarily work amd WILL cost MORE and be more difficult to remove if we need a change. How about the at large commissioner be full time and will make the budget less. Ensure they have 2 terms as a district commissioner for "experience."
Savings and costs have not been thought out well (PART 2)
“Outdated Charter” was adopted in 1981, and with that logic, the US Constitution AND the Bible are old and, like the existing Charter, have survived. (PART 2) (PART 3)
The good news is that this may need 2/3rds for passage (PART 3), but this does not mean you don’t need to vote. Consider your VOTE to be the ONE VOTE that makes this Measure fail. SO VOTE; it’s easy and quick. If you’re in WOLF CREEK or SUNNY VALLEY, contact me at 770-639-0561 (yea Georgia number, but I have been in WC/JoCo for 10 years:-), and I can provide assistance or answer questions. *** Jane S says NO since it's replacing the Charter, which uses much of the existing charter then changing the meat of it. This would be more a rewrite. Either way both CONFLICT with the existing charter and would require a 2/3rds vote to pass. Since the GP Courier endorsed voting NO, I don't believe it will even get 50%.
VOTE NO AND NOT JUST THINK YOU SHOULD VOTE NO!!
On a side note: The Districts, for the most part, are drawn on Precinct boundaries, assuming the population distribution for each Precinct is even; try this: CLICK HER FOR COUNTY GIS AND SEE HOW THESE BOUNDARIES WORK: 1 D1 (Rural) would consist of 21, 26, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 38, 40, 44, 45, and 46 2 D2 (Urban) would consist of 1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 3 D3 (Urban) would consist of 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 24, and 25 4 D4 (Rural) would consist of 20, 23, 27, 29, 32, 33, 35, 36, 39, 41, 41, and 43 Updated to 100% honor the State Directive 2021-1 for laying out Voting Districts within a county. **1 NEED TO ADJUST --- See below, POPULATION is based on registered voters and not actual population from the census. Total voters 69637 total population is ~88,000 so assume even distribution of the non-registered residents. So ~17409 registered voters per district. **3 D1 (Rural) would consist of 14, 19, 26, 28, 30, 31, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 40, 44, and 46 (19424 total excess of 1833 people) **3 D2 (Urban) would consist of 1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 15, 16, 17, and 18 (22591 total, excess of 5182 people) **3 D3 (Urban) would consist of 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 24 and 47**2 (12797 total people needs 4612 people) **3 D4 (Rural) would consist of 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 27, 32, 35, 39, 41, 42, 43, and 45 (15007 total people, needs 2402 people) **3 **1 I will check on this compared to the voter map Jane S gave me **2 FOUND District 47!! ** 3 Initial district boundaries with total voter population I believe if you move Precinct 36 from D1 to D4 and Precinct 1 from D2 to D3 above you'd get the following precinct Registered Voter Distribution: D1 - 17049 Need 360 D2 - 17713 Extra 304 D3 - 17675 Extra 266 D4 - 17200 Need 209 This would be a compromise which would only violate the State Directive in ONE precinct and that's 36 since it would cross a state congressional district

Commission prices & changes going forward
During the last six months or so, I've been trying to find a job after losing my previous one. It has been a struggle, also because I don't own a car, and it seems most employers here just don't want to even bother considering someone if they can't drive.
My plan was to work a few months to save up money for school expenses, as I am going to start a professional school in a few months (the initial cost was already paid for, with the help of my family) , and then focus on only doing commissions, and items for Etsy, both for a little extra income and as a hobby.
Unfortunately, I am coming to the conclusion that I am very unlikely to find a job before September. For it to be even worth it, I would have to start immediately or almost immediately, since I'd have to leave it in September in order to attend school. I don't want to give up on school, since it is my chance to get a qualification for the type of career I want to pursue. It is a school that gives a valid a qualification to be able to work in salons, as a nail tech (and also other related professions). For now I am almost self-taught, hence why I only work on press-on nails.
The fact I have to almost surely give up on finding a job means, aside from previous savings, the only money I can rely on is what I get from commissions and online sales.
Consequently, I cannot keep my prices as low as I have so far. I will try not to raise them dramatically, but up until now my starting prices for press-on nails and/or charms and miniature portraits have been as low as €20 for the most basic options.
To be entirely transparent with you, that's basically just enough to cover for materials. It was fine as long as it was supposed to be a side thing/almost more of a hobby, as that meant I'd get the funds to keep it up, charging more for my more complicated commissions but still keeping the prices as low as possible.
Now, knowing I need this income to pay for as much of my expenses as possible since my savings won't last forever, "just enough to cover for materials" isn't gonna cut it. I am sorry if this means my work will be less affordable and less people may be able to access it, I would like to be able to not worry about profit at all, but that is simply impossible at the moment.
This is why, in the next days, you'll likely see me update my commission sheets and change them to reflect the new prices. I'll also probably change the sheets up a bit just because when I first made them it was my first experience with this sort of commissions, and I think I can make them a bit more efficient and hopefully clearer.

Symphony - Chapter Five
A03
Summary: Viktor Nikiforov, tenor prodigy and top student at the Salchow Institute of Music, is looking for an accompanist.
And word around campus is that Yakov Feltsman, Head of Music and conductor of the prestigious Institute Band, is looking for new members.
Yuuri Katsuki is just looking to survive his next Piano recital
OR
The Yuri on CONCERT Music School AU that we all deserve
Pairings: Viktor Nikiforov/ Yuuri Katsuki
Rating: Teen And Up
Content Warning: Anxiety
A/N: *bows profusely* I'm so so sorry it took me this long, and I'm sorry it was a bit of a shorter chapter!
After finishing Fever I had to literally purge myself and get my mind back into this fic properly. This chapter felt like a bit of a warm up - getting ready to throw myself into the deep end that is the story to come. AND BOY AM I READY to throw myself in. I've never wanted to write something so much in my life.
AND ITS THANKS TO ALL OF YOU GREMLINS! Thank you so much for all of the support - I actually don't know how to describe how much it encourages me. Knowing there's people out there who actually want to listen to some crazy story I've dreamt up, it makes me want to wake up in the morning. I hope I can do this story justice and give you some half-decent food to keep us all satiated until YOI gets back from the war...
No music this chapter, but there'll be plenty in the next one! I'm writing it as we speak!I also hope to update this fic on a bit of a stricter schedule - After this weekend I'll be posting a new chapter (sometimes two) every Monday night PST! (Give or take because I'm at the other end of the world and Monday night is actually Tuesday evening for me~) I really want to challenge myself to write this fic as fully as I can, and I don't like keeping people waiting!
And also, of course, find me on twitter or tumblr if you have any questions. I also do art when my brain wants a break from writing which I post there, and I've met some great members of the YOI fandom already around my art and writing so I'm always open to making more! (YALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE, YOU SICKENINGLY BEAUTIFUL HUMANS)
ANYWAY LOTS OF BELATED LOVE,
- Min
Shortly after the practice session, Yuuri had completely thrown himself into his study. His anxiety was nothing new - after however many years of bathroom stalls and car parks and stage wings soaked in fear, the panic attacks were like old friends. And every time they rolled through him, passing through like a tornado and leaving him weak, his first thought was always music.
At least he had his music.
As a child, Yuuri had been blessed with plenty of time to practice. His life was easy-going in Hasetsu - school was simple, friends were simple, home was simple. If anything threw him into an anxious spin, nobody paid any mind when he would slip away quietly to his room, or sprint to Minako’s then studio to use her grand. It was a sort of therapy, he’d decided. There were probably better ways for him to find relief - ways that didn’t border on obsession - but he reasoned that if it worked, if it wasn’t hurting anyone else, then how bad could it be?
When he’d practice to calm himself, it didn’t matter what he played, so long as his fingers were moving along the keys. Sometimes it was Liszt. Sometimes Chopin. Sometimes jazz or simple accompaniment pieces. He even had a small folder of pop songs and film scores that slipped into his rotation every now and then. Phichit always loved listening to Yuuri play pieces from The King and the Skater – his ‘absolute favourite movie of all time, no exceptions’- though that usually only happened when they were drinking at home, Phichit screeching along at the top of his lungs while Yuuri stumbled his way through the chords.
Now that Yuuri was focussed on his thesis and composition, he had plenty to fill up his practice time. And so, after the disastrous practice session, blinded slightly by tears and desperate to get his hands on his keyboard, bitterly afraid of running into Viktor, he’d come home with Phichit and all but chained himself to his piano. Had run over the notes from his last session with Lilia. Practiced scales and glissandos and tremolos until his nails dug into his skin. Written pages after pages of ideas - notes erased and moved like chess pieces across the bars. Ideas scrawled in fine pencil in the margins - sometimes in English, sometimes in Japanese.
Very soon, as the days drifted past, the events of that practice session - and with it, the painful thoughts of Viktor - drowned into quiet at the back of his mind. Phichit was kind enough not to bring it up, though he was quite busy with his own practice and some latest video project he’d been commissioned to do.
Sometimes the thoughts would resurface - particularly if Yuuri spotted a flash of silver hair across the quad, or heard someone say his name in passing - but all in all, Yuuri felt he was slowly putting the whole thing behind him.
It had been a relatively productive week by the time Yuuri’s next session with Lilia rolled around. He was still slightly nervous - certain that she’d be just as cold and ruthless as their first meeting - but the edge was taken off ever so slightly since he knew, now, what to expect. He almost felt comforted, knowing with certainty that he was going to be chewed up and spat out by the diva. Kind of fitting.
He deserved it, after all.
Because that was the one constant as his mind reeled. As he tried to make sense of the strange events surrounding Viktor. As he tried to reason and brute force his way through all his emotions with some sort of logic.
He wasn’t good enough for him. Wasn’t good enough for The Institute Band. Wasn’t good enough to even be here at SIM…
“Do I have your complete attention, Mr. Katsuki?” A voice cut across his thoughts.
“Oh! Yes, Madame Baranovskaya. Of course,” he quickly straightened in the piano stool, Lilia was a constant presence behind him as she scanned his movements. He’d drifted off while playing again – working his way through the first movement of his composition piece to try and show her what he’d been working on.
“I admire your appreciation of the musicality of your piece, Mr. Katsuki, but we’re strictly working on tempo today,” she said coolly, eyes flashing as she looked down at him. Yuuri’s heart sank ever so slightly – if only he could keep his mind in check for one second perhaps he’d be worthy of Lilia’s time. But, of course, who was he kidding? He hardly had any right to be here, under her supervision, let alone at this school…
“And I do believe,” she said in an oddly soft tone, “This piece was originally intended to be played in a major key, correct?”
Yuuri blinked, furrowing his brow. Had he been playing in a minor key? He could hardly remember…
“Yes, of course” he dipped his head in embarrassment.
“Celestino did warn me about your tendency to get lost in the music,” she continued, pursing her lips as she appraised him. Her gaze never failed to set his teeth on edge. Like he was on display, completely exposed and slowly being picked apart. He swallowed as the silence dragged on, bracing himself for the inevitable reprimand.
“You can use that to your advantage, if you have someone skilled enough to record your playing,” and her voice was rather quiet. Almost as if she were speaking to herself. “You have a unique way of phrasing that would do you wonders if you were actually paying attention.”
Yuuri tried to hide the blush he could feel warming his ears at her words. Was it …meant to be some kind of compliment? He’d never heard someone speak that way about his playing before.
“I’ll see what I can do,” and her voice was back to its usual strict tone. “For now, Mr. Katsuki. Tempo.”
Their session lasted most of the afternoon, the sun dipping low as they came to a close after hours of metronome instructed exercises and Lilia’s constant reprimands and observations. It felt like Yuuri had run a mental marathon by the time she called the session to a close.
But it was a good feeling, in its own way. He knew he’d hardly have the mental energy to worry about running into Viktor on his way to the bus. To worry about what Lilia really thought of him as a student. It was like a kind of mental static – too exhausted to even bring up coherent thoughts as he slowly packed his sheet music and notes away.
Lilia offered him a few pointers for his practice at home, giving strict instructions for their next session. He bid her farewell and made his way to the door, only to be stopped by the sound of her clearing her throat.
“And, Mr. Katsuki,” she called after him. He turned back toward her and took in her severe silhouette as she stood by the grand, expression unreadable.
“Congratulations,” she said, mouth a hard line, though her eyes seemed … uncharacteristically warm.
Yuuri blinked.
“Congratulations?” he asked quietly.
Congratulations for what?
“Try not to celebrate too much this weekend,” and Yuuri all but choked as he watched Lilia … smile? It was thin, hardly reaching her eyes, but it was a smile nonetheless.
Celebrate?
What on earth—
Yuuri didn’t get the chance to question her, however, as her phone suddenly rang loudly, filling the room with a strange ringtone. Some kind of high staccato singing. She picked it up quickly and waved for him to leave, greeting whoever had called in a stoic manner.
Yuuri hurried out of the room. The whole meeting was quite strange – stranger than his first meeting that still gave him chills when he remembered how cold Lilia had been with him. Despite how exhausted he felt, he couldn’t help but gnaw on the thought in his mind;
Why had she congratulated him?
He was still worrying away at the question when he rounded the corner and came into one of the common areas. It was a large, spacious room with high ceilings – couches and coffee tables huddled in one corner with tables and chairs filling what remained. There were large expanses of wall space taken up by posters and flyers of every kind. It was the main common area at the school – the one where all of the latest news and postings always ended up. Things like simple advertisements for local concerts or gigs that students were involved in. Flyers looking for roommates or accompanists.
But there was also one wall dedicated to official postings. It was a dividing wall that cut through the room, and it was often crowded at this time of year.
Today it was positively crammed with students.
The noise was overwhelming, Yuuri finding himself flinching ever so slightly as he realised how many people he’d have to pass just to get to the exit. There was shouting and screaming, what sounded like someone practicing scales on a clarinet. There was laughter, and as the crowd came into view, Yuuri could see countless people jostling each other for space around the wall.
Yuuri distantly remembered that today was important, though he couldn’t remember why. There must be a posting – parts for the SIM Musical perhaps? Or maybe there’d been new chairs announced for the orchestra?. Yuuri knew none of it would apply to him, however. He hadn’t auditioned in years, preferring to just focus on the orchestra when he needed to. He ducked his head to make sure nobody recognised him, tucking his chin into his scarf and making his way toward the exits.
A familiar voice rang out across the din and he froze in his tracks.
“Yuuri! Yuuri, over here!”
Viktor.
Viktor’s voice.
His legs turned to water the second the realisation hit him, and he barely had the strength to turn towards the sound. He cursed his high-functioning anxiety for choosing to auto-pilot right at that moment. He wanted nothing more than to pretend he hadn’t heard him and bolt for the doors, but his body seemed to move on its own. Wooden and puppeteered by years of trying to appear normal in social situations. Not to mention the uncomfortable flip his heart did in his chest that took control of his pulse quickly.
He turned to see Viktor standing at the front of the crowd, shouldering his way through and making his way towards him with a beaming grin lighting up his features. It almost hurt to look at. Like staring straight into the sun.
Yuuri figured Viktor must be greeting him out of pity. He could see a few of the school’s best and brightest hanging near where Viktor was standing by the posting wall, so it was unsettling to see Viktor prying himself away from his elite friends, focussed on Yuuri instead. Christophe Giacometti, the school’s top double bassist, stood out instantly, his curly blonde hair all too visible in the sea of browns and blacks. He was one of Viktor’s closest friends, Yuuri knew, and the man seemed to be shouting something after Viktor, though his voice was lost as someone blasted a note on a trombone nearby.
“Congratulations, Yuuri!” Viktor cried, breaking free of the crowd and all but running over to him. The uneasiness of Lilia’s words returned with full force.
Congratulations for what?
“V—Viktor,” Yuuri said in a small voice by way of a greeting, though it sounded more like a question, a deep sense of dread beginning to work it’s way into his chest. He hadn’t spoken with Viktor since their last practice – hadn’t replied to the one text message he’d sent. He hadn’t even opened it, too petrified of what it might entail to even read the opening line. Viktor would surely be offended at Yuuri’s silence. It had been just over a week since their practice, after all.
“I’m so thrilled you decided to audition in the end,” Viktor said breathlessly, rearranging his shirt after being tossed around in the crowd. He stood just slightly too close, eyes bright as he watched Yuuri with all the excitement of a child.
Wait…
Audition?
“Wh—what?” Yuuri’s voice came out as a strangled squeak as he felt himself grow pale. Audition? As in—?
But before he could finish the thought, another familiar voice rang out across the room. He turned to see Phichit, red-faced and gasping for air as he all but sprinted toward Yuuri from the doors on the other side of the room, saxophone slung precariously across his shoulder, satchel bouncing against his hip as he ran.
“Yuuri my love!” He all but screamed, crashing into Yuuri with full force, crushing him in a hug. Yuuri barely had time to register Viktor clearing his throat behind him, crying out as Phichit tackled him.
“I’m so sorry! Did you find out already? Shit! I can’t believe I missed it! All that work for nothing,” and around Phichit’s senseless rambling Yuuri managed to gasp a few confused words and worm his way out of the hug.
“Phichit, what on earth is going on—?” but there was another strong grip on his shoulder that froze the words in his throat, Yuuri crying out in shock as he spun around. It was Otabek – the Otabek, from their practice session. And he was standing over him, clapping him on the back, face stoic as he nodded. The man offered a thumbs up, blinking once, not saying a word, before walking past him toward the exit. Yuuri watched him wide-eyed and more confused than ever as Otabek wandered toward a small figure with a guitar slung over his back.
Toward Yuri. The other Yuri. With blonde hair peeking out from a black hoodie, leopard print across its back. The smaller man glanced back to him with piercing eyes, waving at him in a way that seemed almost … friendly?
It was all too much. Why were they all here? Why was Yuri waving at him? Why was Viktor bouncing up and down where he stood, Phichit running his mouth like a stream?
Why was everyone so excited?
“Phichit,” Yuuri’s voice was weak, breaking ever so slightly as that same sense of dread bloomed into full-blown fear. “What's going on?”
“Huh?” Phichit glanced at him worriedly, stopping his rambling as he took in Yuuri’s expression, though he still had a ridiculously wide grin plastered on his face. “What do you mean?”
“Why is everyone congratulating me?” Yuuri whispered, eyes darting nervously between his best friend and Viktor as they stood, watching him like he was the only person in the world who didn’t know…
“Oh, Yuuri…” Phichit’s eyes grew wide, his feet shuffling as he took a tentative step closer, hand reaching out instinctively. “It’s okay, don’t—“
“What did he mean by audition, Phichit?” Yuuri said distantly, the light from the wide windows flashing off his glasses, eyes hidden.
Phichit swallowed.
“Yuuri, I need you to take deep breaths,” Phichit said slowly, two hands out now. Wary.
“What did you do?” Yuuri all but whispered, feeling his stomach threaten to drop to the floor. Surely not. Surely Phichit would never…
“Well,” Phichit swallowed again, rubbing the back of his neck and throwing Viktor a desperate look. “You know that, ah, project? The video one?”
“You didn’t,” Yuuri breathed, taking a small step backwards as his legs threatened to give way. He could fit the pieces together easily enough. The video project. An audition. All the strange secrecy and vague answers.
“I may or may not have,” and Phichit’s eyes were concerned. Fearful. But there was that typical sparkle of mischief and excitement that – in any other circumstance – would have won Yuuri over.
But this was…
“Wait, what’s going on?” Viktor asked cheerily, face slightly confused as he glanced between the two friends. He spoke like someone at ease with slotting himself into conversations, and Yuuri found himself marvelling at the social confidence, despite it all.
“Ah, I’m a terrible friend,” Phichit said with an exasperated smile. “I filmed our practice the other day and sent it to Yakov by way of an audition.”
Yuuri felt like all of the words were coming at him from a great distance – like he’d suddenly slipped into a well, sound and light having trouble reaching his senses. Audition. Practice. Yakov. Film…
“Yuuri please, hear me out,” Phichit said quickly. “I knew you’d never have the balls to audition on your own and now the hard part’s out of the way! You were accepted!”
Yuuri blinked.
“No I wasn’t,” he whispered matter-of-factly, shaking his head ever so slightly. He couldn’t have been accepted, it must have been some kind of mistake.
“But you were, Yuuri!” Viktor said with a dazzling grin, eyes bright as he reached and gripped Yuuri by the shoulders. The touch sent flames licking along Yuuri’s veins, and if it weren’t for Viktor’s strong grip, he knew he would have fallen right then and there.
“Come and see!” and he was suddenly being whisked through the crowd, bodies pressing against him tightly as Viktor reached down to hold his hand, tugging him along after him like a kite, Phichit trailing behind with a steadying hand on his back.
They made their way to the posting wall, faces crammed towards the small piece of paper pinned to the centre of the board.
It read, in a simple non-descript font:

Practice this Thursday, March 16th, 6pm sharp
- Yakov Feltsman
Yuuri felt the ground fall away beneath him.
“Yuuri? Yuuri!” Phichit managed to catch him as he fell, holding his shoulders firmly and giving them a slight shake.
Yuuri distantly registered that Viktor was still holding him by the hand…
“It can’t be real,” Yuuri whispered, attempting to steady himself. Yakov had seen him practice – had seen his lack-lustre playing with Viktor and Yuri and Otabek there to outshine him at every turn. Had seen it and …
Accepted him?
“I can assure you, it’s real,” Viktor said with a smile, and as Phichit helped Yuuri stay on his feet, Yuuri noticed that Viktor was smiling at him warmly. But his eyes were … troubled? He seemed to be searching Yuuri’s face, trying to figure something out…
“I’m … sorry,” Yuuri managed to squeeze out, heart clenching painfully as he realise that Vikor was probably disappointed. Probably angry that Yuuri had run him around. “I’m sorry I caused you so much trouble…”
And Viktor’s face fell into a mask of confusion, brows knitting together as those piercing blue eyes continued to search Yuuri’s face. Despite the raucousness of the room, Yuuri couldn’t help but feel himself getting lost in them. Reminded of their first practice session at Minako’s studio…
And Viktor seemed to be about to say something, eyes fervent as he wet his lips, but a hand on Viktor’s shoulder had him turning around before he could speak.
“Congratulations, everyone!” a lilting voice cut across the crowd. Christophe Giacometti. He was about the same height as Viktor, leaning in to offer a knowing smile to Yuuri and Phichit as he joined their little circle at the front of the crowd, pressed close together.
“It’ll be nice to finally have some … fresh meat,” and Yuuri watched on in horror as Christophe licked his lips, eyes heavy-lidded. He seemed to be directing his flirting towards Phichit, who took it in his stride easily.
“I do hope you’re gentle with me,” and he laughed, light and easy. Of course. It was all so easy for him. For everyone.
Yuuri found himself running down the list again, taking in every name and feeling his heart stutter uncomfortably in his chest when he saw his own name nestled among them. He knew them all – all accomplished musicians. All ridiculously talented. All self-assured and socially confident and…
“Let’s get a drink to celebrate!” Christophe exclaimed, wrapping an arm effortlessly around Viktor’s shoulder.
Oh.
Oh.
Yuuri took in the gesture and felt a strange twist in his gut.
“Yes!” Phichit jumped on the spot, pumping his fist and letting out another giggle of excitement. Yuuri reached for Phichit’s sleeve, tugging ever so slightly to get his attention. No. Not drinking…
Phichit seemed to notice, chewing on his lower lip and leaning in to try and speak with him in confidence.
“Come on, Yuuri,” Phichit whispered behind his hand, making eyes at him that made Yuuri feel guilty and angry and... “I know you’re freaking out right now but trust me. This will do you the world of good,” and before Yuuri could protest, Phichit suddenly creased his brow and gave him a pleading look, eyes darting back to Christophe pointedly, who was now chatting away with a few of the other members who had gathered around them.
Yuuri took the hint. Phichit had had a crush on Chris for as long as Yuuri had had a crush on Viktor. Of course, Phichit would want to take up the opportunity to go out drinking with him.
In the whirl of emotions and shock and terror that started to simmer just under Yuuri’s skin, Yuuri found himself helpless when he saw Phichit’s expression. When he turned and saw Viktor’s expression, wrapped in Chris’ arms and gazing after him…
Hopefully?
“Oh do come, Yuuri,” Viktor said gently, eyes warm, mouth set in a soft smile. “At least let me buy you a drink to apologise.”
Yuuri furrowed his brow and moved to speak; “Apologise?” But the words were lost as his voice broke and Chris let loose a loud laugh. There was another tall man with a trumpet case in hand – Jean-Jaques, Yuuri distantly recalled – talking with him. Was he coming too?
Yuuri felt like he was drowning. Everyone wanted to celebrate. All smiles and laughter and loud, loud, loud.
And between Phichit’s desperate puppy dog eyes and Viktor’s piercing blue stare, Yuuri found himself nodding, though everything screamed at him to run.

Cosmos Market
Hi All
It has been a little over a month since I started this project.
The first Kickstarter was unsuccessful. I will be setting up a new one next week after I sit down to talk with the investor and after my meeting with the realtor. It took a while, mostly because phones and I are not friends, along with my dyslexia screwing things up, but I got through.
I am leaving the GoFundMe up and running, because I am going to open a bookstore. I feel one step closer now then last week.
Goal
I am going to crowdfund to open a small store. It will be a combination of a second hand and indie bookstore, farm market, and artisan crafts store. I already have seven farm market and artisans ready to work out contracts for spacing to sell their wares, more then a thousand used books boxed up and ready to go, plus several boxes of crafts.
Why a bookstore?
Prior to the car accident I wanted to open a bookstore. Then the accident occurred, and that was not an option at the time because of health problems. I didn’t stop collecting books for that purpose, with the thought that someday I would return to that goal in order to open that second hand bookstore like I wanted.
Now I write books to publish and thought: wait, what if instead of just a second hand bookstore, I make it an indie bookstore and secondhand store? Perfect idea! I can sell mine, and other indie authors books.
Why a farm and artisan market?
The idea of the market has two different sources.
The first is when I studied our community and realized there is nowhere besides the farm market to sell handmade crafts that are not paintings. That gave me the idea to combined my bookstore with an artisan craft store.
The second is when I was speaking to a vendor at the farm market, one who makes both artisan crafts and farm market foods. She made a comment about wishing to have somewhere she could rent a space for a reasonable price. that gave me the idea to work with the farm market vendors.
Thus far all but two have committed. Those two stated that they would consider it if I successfully acquire the building. There are still more to be spoken with.
Why both GoFundMe and Kickstarter?
GoFundMe - I am familiar with it, there is no time limit, and goals can be adjusted as needed. Beyond that, the GoFundMe is for individuals who would like to give to the project now, because they don’t know that they will have the money later. All money from it will go towards the goal of opening the store in some form, whether in advertising, product, or bills.
Kickstarter - it is an all or nothing funding. If I hit the goal, I have to open the store. Which if I hit the goal, I will definitely open the store because I will buy my building to do so. Yes, the time is getting close for the first one, perhaps I will change programs or goals.
There was some confusion with an individual earlier about how I would give the money back if the store failed. They didn’t seem to comprehend that is not how Kickstarter works. With Kickstarter, if I hit the goal, and I open the store, I have done as promised, no refund needed. If I hit the goal but don’t open the store, that’s when I have to issue a refund.
What if you are unable to get the building in the image?
That’s when I move on to plans B or C. In other words, that’s when I buy one of the other buildings I have picked out, those that might not be as great for the goal but would work over all.
What makes building one better then two or three?
Location! It’s in a great spot for my needs.
Size, it is three times bigger then building two and four times bigger then building three.
Apartments in the upstairs. That means I can update them sooner then later with any extra money after stocking the store and rent them out. Renting just one of them out would make the buildings monthly mortgage with the amount of money I have planned to put down, renting out both would also pay the electric, gas, and trash removal.
Extra rooms beyond the store that can be rented to artisans who might wish to have a new space or bigger space to work in.
Some of the extra rooms can also be used to host various classes, either by artisans, tutors, or even myself for creative writing.
Three to Five are part of Six: renting out the spaces and offering classes will make it so all the stores profits go into further stock and employees. Insuring that there is plenty to sell and that it continue on.
Then why have plans B and C if A is so good?
Someone else might buy A. In that case it’s a good idea to have a plan B and C. There aren’t a lot of buildings for sale in the area, and I would rather not rent or lease, as I want control over the building, that only happens if I own it.
Plans B and C are also for if the first doesn’t work out for a different reason. For instance, perhaps I have a investor who is willing to back purchasing a smaller building.
Investors
I am reaching out to various angel investors as well. Yet another way to try and fund this. There is a long list of individuals for me to contact who help small businesses get off the ground.
Depending on investors, I may change building plans if one is willing to work with of the smaller ones. Would it be as profitable as the larger building? No. However, I would be able to build up the smaller store, then either try again to get my plan A building if it is still on the market, or find a different bigger building. After all, the real estate market is always changing.
If you would like to be an investor, even a small one such as fifty dollars, please use my Contact Me form. It’s primary purpose is for commissions, but it also covers other questions and communications off this website.
Loans
Why don’t I try getting a business loan? That requires a decent credit score, which I would need a job to get. It is the lack of job due to my disabilities that has caused me to take this route.
Do you have a business plan?
Yes, though it’s hand written because that’s how I roll. Actually, I have several, because I kept redrafting it as I considered new details and points. It evolved!
I keep each to make sure details that are needed are not lost in the rewrites.
Do you have a budget?
Why yes I do! Checked multiple times, to make sure the math isn’t off. It is based on building costs, bills (gas, electric, trash, accounting), employee pay, advertising prices, permits, equipment, and stock.
A basic form of it can be found at the bottom of my first Kickstarter. If you’d like to discuss it, I am open to doing so. I have a projected finances excel, I will be creating a google sheets version as well, and will be updating it as I receive new information.
You have several disabilities, how are you going to do this?
With help. That’s why there is employee pay as part of the costs. I know I physically can’t do it alone, so I will pay someone to help me. I’ve already spoken to that person, we have an agreement set out and a pay schedule.
Why should we back you?
At the end of the day, I can’t tell you what to do, nor would I. What I can tell you is this:
I managed to get my family from 50k in debt to 10k in debt in 4 years (love the parents, they’re not the best at finances, plus there was that entire stroke that just added to the mess of bills) - so I know how to balance a book and raise money.
That does not count the times I asked for help for myself, only the family as whole’s situation. After all, hard to balance my own books with no money coming in during those months I did not have any commissions or ghost writing.
I was trained as a store manager
I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration
I’m a fast study
If you are an indie author, I’ll sell your books. That means I buy several copies to sell, so you automatically get paid, and then if they do well, I buy more copies to sell.
You’ll be helping a small business get started You get a personalized signed copies of my book, yes they are digital copies but I will still be making the signing for each personal, scanning them in, adding them to the file and sending them off.
You help a disabled writer stop living with the constant worry of how to pay the bills and when will the next need to ask for help happen. Thus I stop needing to ask for donations every time life goes sideways because I barely have enough to live before that happens.
I am also a firm believer in paying it forward, so once I am no longer stuck in the cycle of I have no money, I am barely paying the bills, and I have to ask for help, I will be able to help others who may need it.
You’ll get updates on the business, what the current specials are, and even coupons for online purchases from time to time.
For those who do more then the twenty five dollar pledge, they will get signed copies of more then just my first two books. Every five past twenty-five will get one more book, unless told to stop. Example: If you do fifty dollars, you get the initial two plus five more personalized signature books.
I have done a lot of research, this isn’t just a whim, it’s not a lark, while most my notes are hand written, they are repeatedly checked as I wish to make sure that I am successful. Once it is open I do not want to have to ask a second time for help with it.
It’s a New Year, if you are feeling generous, consider helping someone start it differently then years past.
All I can ask is you take a chance. Money is important, as it funds everything. Sharing the GoFundMe is just important as it shows it to new people. All I ask is you take a few moments to share this, or the GoFundMe. I understand however, if you are not willing or able to.
Thank you all for reading this,
Jaimi

Tumblr media
That's it guys! Patreon will be launching on the 1th of February! I'm so happy!
For people living in Europe, I'll be launching a tipeee as well. It's basically the same as patreon except you can pay in euros .
I updated my schedule and the content of the patreon/tipeee. Let's talk about it:
F.A.Q. and troubleshooting. "BlackBy, I'm working on this drawing but I am having trouble with the shadows, I don't know what to do next ToT!" I'm here!
Illustrations you vote on. "I have this neat idea I would want to see!", "My perfect x anime/x game/x comic fanart would be..." DONE. (I also do NSFW)
Sketches and step-by-step tutorials. How do I do that? How can you do that? You'll know everything!
Exercices sheets and art courses. You'll learn everything they don't have the time to teach you in school. Get rewards for your commitement and accomplishements.
Menthorship. You will be guided through your journey as an artist and learn exactly what you need to improve and draw the things you want to create.
Live and recorded streams for deep learning and chat!
Will you still be taking commissions?
I will but I'm currently full right now. Being a patron gives you priority for open slots.
What does it mean for the content online?
I know that not everyone can pay for commission and art courses. It's not fair. My goal is to finance this content via Patreon so it can be released for everyone for free in the future. By participating you'll help everyone to improve on their art and be happy to finally be able to draw what they want, how they want it.
-> deviantART
As I told you before, I'm not happy on this website anymore. But what you may not know is that deviantART is allowed to take every pic you post on this website and use it for commercial use and sell it to their partners, without telling you or giving you compensation. Since I'm a professional and I got a lot of pictures stolen, this is getting harder and harder to justify staying here. Still, I cannot leave you guys...
I'll continue to post a little bit here. But you have to know that most of my work will be on patreon, gumroad, facebook and instagram. If things goes well, I'll consider opening a website.
-> tumblr
As most of you know, tumblr updated their terms and conditions, limiting content to SFW stuff... except that bot disables pretty much anything, it's so flawed. I'll continue to post there and see how much of my work get erased but... yeah, we'll see.
I am so, so happy to begin this new adventure with you guys!

Who should I vote for in the WA state election?
Full disclosure, this is directly inspired by this article, by someone from my high school as part of a youth newspaper he was working on. Considering said newspaper hasn’t updated since, oh, 2017, I think it’s fine to step on a few toes.
According to the ABC there are 19 parties vying for votes in the 2021 Western Australia State Election, which is coming up on Saturday. Some of them are good, some of them are very very not. Let’s go through each!
Animal Justice Party
The Animal Justice Party is a single-platform party masquerading as a multi-platform party, and while they have bland but reasonable positions on common issues everything, and I mean everything, on their page circles back to animals. Mental Health? Animal therapy and volunteering are good for that! Foreign Policy? We only care about trophies and wildlife trade! Domestic Violence? Abusers kick puppies, not just spouses! You get the idea. They mean well, but I don’t think they’re even close to a top pick, especially considering some of their odder platforms (banning processed meat sales to minors like they’re cigarettes, sure ok).
Vote for them if you’re the epitome of the obnoxious vegan.
 Australian Christians
I mean, obviously I’m not religious, but I’m pretty sure these folks don’t speak for all Christians. They’re first on the list of whackjobs, anti-abortion and same-sex marriage, pro “sexual morality” (read: puritanism) and have out-of-context bible quotes on their statement of intents. Oh, sorry, statement of beliefs. Clicking on this webpage made my skin crawl- protip, if a person or party claims to support “family values” or “Christian ideals” 99 times out of 100 they’re just using it to justify bigotry.
Vote for them if you’d feel right at home in Cromwellian England.
 Daylight Savings Party
This one’s website was broken for me, so I couldn’t really get a hold of anything beyond the name and what was on their facebook page, which is pretty much just what their mission statement is- Western Australia but we have daylight savings time. Despite being ridiculously sunny all the time. But….but why though….
Vote for them if you enjoy changing your clocks twice a year, like a weirdo.
 The Great Australian Party
There are two really obvious jokes here screaming at me to be made. The GAP wants to make Australia great again, and despite the name it doesn’t involve jeans. These guys think taxes are bad but it would be good if they were instead handled by corporations, which is the most laughably stupid idea that itd be enough to bottom-vote them just on that- fortunately, their stance on firearms (we’ll get to it later) and immigration (withdrawing from UN treaties, seriously?) make it pretty clear they’re just a bunch of cunts. Their policy pages complain about political correctness and want to make fucking with a flag a crime like it is in the US, so the comparisons to a certain US party keep going.
Vote for them if you’re the proud owner of a red hat that your children will burn out of shame.
 Health Australia Party
The fact that these people have an entire page dedicated to going “no, we aren’t anti-vax, we just have a lot of concerns” answers any questions you could possibly have. They also advocate for “natural medicine” to be placed on equal footing with, you know, medicine, which is obviously not a great idea.
Also, that they spell it “anti-vacc” and that their policy list is in fucking Calibri bugs me to no end.
Vote for them if you’re on a lemon detox.
 Legalise Cannabis Western Australia
Take a guess. Take a wild fucking guess what single issue these guys are about. I don’t even have anything against this idea, their policies aren’t awful or anything, but it’s a heck of a hill to spend so much of your time on.
Vote for them if you’re high off your tits, I guess.
 Liberal Democrats
What is this, libertarians? I’ll be frank, most of their policies are rooted in economics stuff I don’t really understand, but they’re against COVID lockdowns. You know, despite how effective they’re shown to be around here since we don’t fuck them up (mostly).
These guys seem to be one of the bigger of the small parties but their website is super unhelpful so ???
Vote for them if… I dunno?
 Liberal Party
The first of the two major parties. They lost power in the last state election, and I couldn’t be more thankful- they’d been doing nothing but cock up for years at that point, and the premier was a fucking joke. Considering that their leader has apparently already conceded defeat, I suspect they aren’t looking to repeat the process.
The Liberals seem to be the default for a lot of people, thanks to their incalculable media bias and being one of the big two. I suppose if you’re reading this, you aren’t voting for them anyway.
Vote for them if your mum voted for them and you’re proud of that for some reason.
 Liberals for Climate
If you voted in the last election, you might remember a party called the Flux network, which was a party where their policy was just online voting for everything. This is, uh them again? But they seem more concerned about climate than last time.
Vote for them if you haven’t watched this video.
 No Mandatory Vaccination Party
…no. just no.
Antivaccination is an opinion that makes my skin crawl. The fucker that effectively started the movement, Andrew Wakefield, effectively did so for the money, and as such is indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths. The people who believe this shit know nothing of chemistry or medicine but hear a few buzzwords and do a google or two and think they’re the greatest geniuses of our time. They think they’re soooo fucking smart. Confident incorrectness can be funny at times, but not when such a huge issue is at stake.
Vote for them if you want me to call you out on twitter dot com.
 Pauline Hanson’s One Nation
Oh christ she’s still trying this shit? For reference, in the last election these xenophobic cunts were rightfully punted out of our state, despite massive campaigning, proving that we aren’t the bogan capital of the country quite as much. Their policy pages make me want to vomit, but who the fuck voting for One Nation reads the fucking policy page?
Pauline Hanson was a fish and chip shop owner who made a political party to get her xenophobic bullshit out on the national stage, and was arrested for election fraud, yet still is allowed to run a party for some reason. She’s switched the target of her ire from China to the Middle East to reflect modern bigotry better, but it’s the same old shit. The only good thing ever to come about her was the Pauline Pantsdown song, and she obviously wasn’t involved in that.
Vote for them if you’re interested in joining the Proud Boys.
 Shooters Fishers and Farmers
Oh and the hits just keep coming. Funnily enough I don’t have an issue with their fishery policy, but that’s not the main one, obviously. Australia has harsh gun control laws on account of a mass shooting back in 1997, and we’ve stayed that way for 23 years with, shockingly, no further mass shootings (that I’m aware of). You can disguise your policy by saying its for the sport all you want, but I’ve got no interest in bringing guns back to WA.
Vote for them if you think the NRA having massive political sway in the USA is a good thing.
 Socialist Alliance
Full disclosure, I consider myself a socialist, so I’m probably a little biased here. But yeah, these look like good policies. They want to remove the USA military presence in Australia which I am personally very for, they support royal commission into the big banks which should have been done a decade ago, and they want to lower the voting age to 16 which considering that the youth are generally more politically minded these days seems fair enough to me. I’m for it.
Vote for them if you would have voted for the Greens, and don’t know which to put higher.
 Sustainable Australia
Despite the name, the policy of this party is more concerned about population than climate, an issue I’m not sure is especially pronounced in this neck of the woods. I’d put them fairly middle of the road, seeing as they have some policies I’m for (no new coal mines or fracking) and some I’m very against (increased police funding, lowered immigration).
Vote for them if you too don’t know the common usage of the word Sustainable in modern times.
 The Greens
Why everything is alphabetical until this and the next one are beyond me. Regardless, I suspect you already know if you’re voting Greens, but bluntly: They’re basically the only ones with a real, functional plan about Climate Change. And considering that’s the biggest problem facing humanity at large right now (yes, including COVID), that’s a pretty solid claim.
Vote for them if THERE IS NO PLANET BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
 The Nationals
The nationals end up in coalition with the Liberals basically all the fucking time so if you’d vote for the Libs you’ll vote for the Nats. They’re basically the liberals, but they pay lip service to caring about poor rural areas while continuing to suck big buisness’s cock like a kid with an icy-pole.
Vote for them if you’re a genuine country bumpkin.
 WA Labor
I’ll be frank, I don’t think there’s a single way Labor doesn’t win this election. Mark McGowan has developed a minor cult of personality, and they’ve handled the old COVID situation remarkably well. I don’t agree with everything they’ve done in the past 4 years, but their track record is certainly better than the Liberals. Still, they’re not going to be the top of my preference sheet.
Vote for them if you don’t know what small parties to preference first.
 WAxit party
I’ve admittedly entertained the idea of a Western Australian Secession, and provided it is handled well am not entirely against it. It does make me feel vaguely Texan, though, and that’s not a position I enjoy being in. This party wants to massively invest in defense so WA can protect itself from an invasion- one that will never, ever come, and I really don’t expect to eat those words. We don’t matter enough to target.
Vote for them if you think Brexit 2 sounds like a good idea.
 Western Australia Party
Look at this point I’m fucking sick of all these parties. They have Family Values on their policy list so I’m just taking that as a red enough flag not to vote for them.
Vote for them if you actually read their shit and were a fan of it.
And that’s…everyone. Wait no not everyone hang on.
Independents
I must confess, I basically always forget to read about the independents prior to an election. This is going to be different in every district, so do your research- or just do what I do and stick them all smack bang in the middle between the parties I like and the parties I don’t like.
Ok now that’s everyone. This took a long time and a lot out of me, so I hope you appreciate this shit. Hopefully you are now prepared for what may come on Saturday the 13th, and won’t be too disappointed when your minor party of choice doesn’t win the seat because everyone in your area votes Liberal for some fucking reason.

*Panels to be added in the future:
Headshot or Icon: $5 Simple Icon or headshot with clean line art and color, shading is optional. For Headshot +$1 simple background (not just a single color) or +$5 for The Works, which includes coloring, high quality shading effects, and background. For Icon Price will vary on complexity and quality of what’s desired. Simple Full Body or Waist Up: $10-15 Clean line art and coloring and some simple shading, price depends on complexity of the design +$1 complex character pose (not just standing still) +$2 simple background +$5 for each additional character Complex Full Body (aka The Works for The Works): $20-40* High quality art of whatever you want, includes background, lighting effects, and other details. Whatever it is, it’ll look good *Price may go beyond $40 depending on complexity and quality Miscellaneous: Price will vary So, is there something you want that doesn’t quite match up with anything else on this list, like scenery art, a painting, an illustration, perhaps a comic strip, maybe challenge me to do a bit of pixel art. All you have to do is ask if I can do something, and I’ll give it a shot. Character Design: At least $5-10 I like drawing characters, I love making up new ones, so I’m happy to make one to fit your needs. Prices vary greatly, it all depends on the design, the quality of the drawing, and how much reference art you want. I can do anything, such as humans, animals, anthropomorphic creatures (furries), otherworldly creatures, even try my hand at outfit design. Updates during design creation are available so then I may receive feedback on any changes desired. Now please note that I am not the best when it comes to complicated weapons, props, armor, or anything like that, but I can at least make an attempt. The wills and won’ts: I do not do NSFW or overly suggestive (unless you’re willing to pay about twice or three times as much as the original price to make it worth my while, even sketches will be overpriced). Mildly suggestive for humorous reasons is fine I’m fine with drawing blood, gore, and unsettling imagery as long as it’s not too much. I’m willing to experiment with different art styles and things that are out of my comfort zone, though I ask for understanding and patience if it’s not up to your expectations. Please provide reference pictures if it’s your character. I will request to be paid in advance. I have the right to deny a commission request (though is unlikely for me). Prices may be higher or lower than what’s listed depending on what is asked. If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to ask I’m also available for taking on and being hired for long-term and professional projects! View full image: (link not yet available)
Post will be updated whenever a new section of the commission sheet is completed and will replace the text that pertains to it.

Text
i’m actively screwing myself over, like, all of the time
under the cut is a thing here for mostly my own reference because i need to actually write down what i need to do so that i can start doing it
it is also here as a starting point to being more transparent with people i’m working for (i need to contact these people directly, but if they see this before i message them, they’ll at least know that i haven’t forgotten them/i’m not waiting for them to forget or something).
if i do owe you something on here, please do not feel guilty about stressing me out, this is my own dang fault and i want to try and figure this shit out and get it finished, because if i can do that then my whole life will get monumentally better by like, a MASSIVE margin, i can’t even fathom having the weight of this stuff off of my shoulders and i should use that as motivation to power me through this stuff
anyway
stuff i gotta do:
SCHOOL:
GROUP PROJECT
character sheet for group project
get out sketchbook to double check the design
open a new photoshop document
draw the thing (include construction guides)
put thing in google drive
text group to let them know i put the thing in there
read the textbook chapters i didn’t read
look up which chapters we’re supposed to read
check to see when the assignment that requires the reading is due
SENIOR PROJECT 1
update my trello page and my checkpoints
open the checkpoints sheet, for the love of god why don’t you do this
clean up character sheets
make the orbs on orbo more dimensional, add in one more angle to view orbo from, increase the size of the height chart, dress it up to look more professional
take existing character sheet for zookeeper and fix it up
finish the backgrounds
give ash the folders i made for the backgrounds
potentially just loan them your thumb drive so that it’s better organized?? or make a google drive for that
make color scripts and give these to them for each scene
COMPILE NEW ANIMATIC for presentation next class
put the images for the AfterEffects file into my thumb drive so that i can actually use the file WITH IMAGES while at school
WORLD MYTHOLOGY
dude you’re fuckin’ failing world mythology, i mean i know that this is the class you decided to prioritize last but holy god you could at least TRY to get a passing grade so that your parents don’t have to pay for you to take the class AGAIN over the summer
check upcoming deadlines
post in the thread before sunday night
read the chapters for world mythology and watch any talks or episodes of black mirror the professor inevitably wants us to watch
make the post
comment on 3 other people’s posts
start putting together paper (paper due tuesday 11:95 pm)
find sources
cite sources in MLA
make sure paper is formatted correctly this time because you thought it was the first time but it wasn’t
GENERAL SCHOOL
check your e-mail because your world mythology professor is worried about you and wants you to make a counseling appointment for next wednesday at 2 PM
ASK SOMEBODY ABOUT INTERNSHIPS because i gotta look for those
do this before my father finds out that i lost my scholarships due to my GPA falling too low because i keep failing classes because i can’t make myself write papers anymore
OTHER STUFF:
AYWAS:
you’re gonna get another sketch list at some point this week, probably monday??
cat sketch that has taken you way, way too long to start
contact commissioner about sketch to apologize for radio silence and offer it to them for free or something because dear god (its not that hard to do, i could be doing it now instead of making this list but i’m so overwhelmed by all the other shit i have to do that i just haven’t started)
contact other commissioner about sketch that it’s been MONTHS since you said you’d do it
apologize and ask if they’re still interested, offer it to them for free since dear GOD (again, it doesn’t take me long to do sketches??? why haven’t i started these)
contact person about animation you owe them that you haven’t gotten past half of a rough pass of
i don’t know how to apologize to this person
i am very afraid
COMMISSIONS for moya
more sketches for their xaoc since it came back 22%
attic dragon colorations for the plbc they put in ages ago that’s just waiting for predicts
finish plush quolgarian
add more plushies
shade
send to them for approval and make any necessary fixes
color
finish squid scc coloration
finish blocking in base colors and then send it to them for feedback
finish coloring it
send them the crumb pet sketches you did ages ago
2 COLORATIONS FOR COMMISSIONER-
witch cat
finish basing the colors and send to them for approval
finish
moth dog (i think)
base the colors and send them for approval
finish basing and coloring the pet for the sketch basing contest before February ends
BASIC LIVING SHIT
eat regularly
eat healthier, find some dang vegetables you like and actually remember to eat them
bathe regularly
do the goddamn dishes regularly
wash that FUCKING SHRIMP PAN that’s been in the sink for 2 weeks
get work done before dnd tomorrow
gotta visit the cat boarding place to make sure my gfs cousins cat is doing okay there, since we discovered that she’s too loud and needy for us to illegally house in our apartment while he is away
these are the things i have to do
now that i have made this, i need to find a way to organize it so that i can see what things are most urgent...

‘Protecting European Creativity’
Today (February 20), as confirmed to us from the Council of the European Union’s session by attorney Dr. Jessica Sänger, a vote has gone in favor of the copyright directive that has emerged from trilogue.
As was announced from Strasbourg a week ago (February 13), the “trilogue” process in the European legislative deliberations produced what media messaging from the European Commission called “a breakthrough to modernize copyright rules”—the latest stage in the European Union copyright directive effort.
Although still requiring confirmation by the European Parliament on February 26, this result of the long-running negotiations—part of the Digital Single Market framework—was hailed by vice-president Andrus Ansip as “modern copyright rules for the whole of [the] EU” and by Mariya Gabriel, commissioner for digital economy and society, as legislation to “strengthen the cultural and creative sectors, and bring added value to the European citizens.”
As the EC is laying out the plan, its features include—quoting here from the commission’s statement—the following highlights.
“Tangible benefits to all creative sectors, specifically creators and actors in the audio-visual and musical sectors, by reinforcing their position vis-à-vis platforms to have more control over the use of their content uploaded by users on these platforms and be remunerated for it.
“The principle of an appropriate and proportionate remuneration for authors and performers will be laid down for the first time in European copyright law.
“Authors and performers will enjoy access to transparent information on how their works and performances are exploited by their counterparts (publishers and producers). This will make it easier for them to negotiate future contracts and to receive a fairer share of the generated revenues.
“If publishers or producers fail to exploit the rights that authors and performers have transferred to them, authors and performers will be allowed to revoke their rights.
“European press publishers will enjoy a new right, which aims to facilitate the way they negotiate how their content is re-used on online platforms. It will give journalists the right to receive a greater share of the revenues generated by the online uses of press publications. This right will not affect citizens and individual users, who will continue to enjoy and share news hyperlinks as they do today.”
You can read more from the Commission’s offices in the form of a Q&A here and a fact sheet here.
Special care is being taken by the commission to call attention to the agreement as one that “reinforces the position of European authors and performers in the digital environment” while also “reinforcing the interests of citizens and Internet users.”
As we have done in the past, we’ve turned once more to Dr. Sänger, legal counsel and director of European and international affairs for the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, Germany’s Publishers and Booksellers Association.
Sänger has been closely engaged in the developments leading to this new stage of the process and has been helpful in illuminating for Publishing Perspectives’ readership how the process and its implications have been developing.
We begin here by asking Sänger to parse for us what are the most important accomplishments at this stage, as she and her German and European colleagues see it. Her references, by the way, to “CJEU,” for those outside the Union, are to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
‘On the Whole, an Acceptable Compromise’
Jessica Sänger: The draft directive is very ambitious in the sense that it covers quite a broad range of different important policy areas.
We have been particularly concerned with the proposed exceptions to copyright for illustration for teaching, preservation, and TDM [text and data mining], but also with the proposals regarding what libraries or archives can do with works in their collections which are out of commerce. All these areas have been the subject of intense negotiations, and the results achieved are in no way ideal, but we view them on the whole as an acceptable compromise.
The most important element of the directive from the point of view of (not only) German publishers is Article 12, which aims to permit member states to decide that publishers may once again receive compensation alongside authors when works are used under exceptions or lent out by libraries. The hope is that this piece of legislation would repair the damage done by the HP/Reprobel decision of CJEU, which had such far-reaching consequences in Germany.
Perhaps the main accomplishment of the negotiators for the council and the European Parliament is that they have found a compromise at all, given how contentious certain issues are, especially the “value gap” provision and the press publishers’ right. This took tremendous dedication on the part of the rapporteur MEP Axel Voss as well as the consecutive Council Presidencies of Austria and Romania.
Publishing Perspectives: Are there points that your team had hoped to have in the new formulation that are not included, after all?
Jessica Sänger: Since all the provisions I mentioned are compromises, of course we are not 100-percent happy.
We would have appreciated more safeguards around the exceptions and still believe that a solution for works which are out of commerce could have been found without resorting to an exception, as the example of the German legislation on the subject shows.
Concerns remain around which impact the new TDM provisions will have in practice.
In some areas, including Article 12, convoluted wording of recitals does more to confuse the reader than to clarify the aim of the provision in question. But this is due to the changes made to accommodate as many interests as possible.
Perhaps the best compromises are those that leave every side somewhat unhappy.
Publishing Perspectives: Some are saying that this is very close to the last time we visited the process, in the late summer. Is that the case? Or are there important and substantive steps in place here since the last actions?
Jessica Sänger: On September 12th, the European Parliament voted upon its position, based on the work of the five committees which had discussed the commission’s draft and each voted on its own suggested amendments. The council had already adopted its approach in May.
September’s vote meant that the phase we call “trilogue” was able to begin, where the co-legislators council and parliament negotiate for a common text with the support of the commission which supplied the initial draft.
We are now at the stage where the trilogue negotiations have been successfully concluded, after many sessions and moments of suspense as to whether the process would fail at the 11th hour. If the directive is to be adopted before the end of this parliament’s legislature, things will have to move very quickly now.
Publishing Perspectives: As we know, the approval here from trilogue will need approval by the council and by parliament ultimately. Is it your understanding that those approvals are likely?
Jessica Sänger: [UPDATE AT 8:56 a.m. ET, 1:56 p.m GMT:] I am delighted that today, the council (COREPER I) voted in favor of the directive.
This was the final council vote on the subject. Some member states were adamantly opposed, like Italy, which changed its position after the Salvini government took office. It’s important that the majority achieved for the final negotiating mandate on February 8th now also support the final result.
Germany and France had hammered out a compromise ahead of that vote, and even though not everyone in the German government is happy with the result, withdrawing support now would have been a serious affront.
All now depends on the European Parliament, and a lot of question marks remain. There will be a decision in the legal affairs committee next Tuesday (February 26), and then the final adoption would take place in plenary, in March.
Given the strong majority the directive received in September, and given that many of the concerns of the opponents were addressed during trilogue, the chances for an even stronger endorsement ought to be good.
Under normal circumstances, I would be highly confident that the MEPs who voted in favor in September wouldn’t suddenly change their minds. But we are currently faced with a massive wave of campaigning around the “value gap” provision widely known as Article 13, and MEPs are already shifting into campaign mode for the upcoming elections, so they are sensitive to public opinion.
Therefore, I still see a danger that the directive is not adopted before the end of the Parliament’s legislature in April.
Publishing Perspectives: Who—or which entities in business or government—will not like this agreement, and can we know the countervailing points they had made?
Jessica Sänger: Many different points were made by different stakeholders on each of the numerous subject areas of the directive.
Let me focus on the one that is getting the greatest attention, Article 13. The strongest resistance is coming from Big Tech companies. They don’t like the idea that they might need to enter into licensing contracts with rights holders and pay for the uses taking place on platforms such as YouTube. They don’t want to share the advertising revenues they generate with those who invest in the content which makes their platforms so attractive.
MEPs visiting Silicon Valley were told bluntly that US companies would seek to prevent the adoption of Article 13 in Europe. Think of the massive campaign launched by YouTube to frighten its users or other astro-turf activities. It’s shocking to see how much dis-information was spread in order to make teenagers believe that Article 13 would spell the “end of the Internet as we know it” and enable massive censorship. But it’s also clear that extremists and populists from various parts of the political spectrum are strongly opposed to the directive. The example of the Italian government is only one case in point.
Publishing Perspectives: And what else should be said at this point about this long and important process? What is most critical for the wider publishing world beyond Europe to understand about the steps taken through this legislative process you’ve worked so hard on?
Jessica Sänger: Copyright is under attack from many quarters these days. If this directive can establish that protecting European creativity is important enough for European legislators to take on Big Tech and resist the tremendous pressure that they are being subjected to, they are doing this based on their conviction that creative individuals and their commercial partners deserve protection and that their contribution is essential to cultural diversity.
The directive is not perfect, but it is a very important step in the right direction. We cannot achieve this without working closely alongside authors, translators, illustrators, and other creators, so our relationship with them remains the basis for what we do, both within the industry, and in our advocacy work.
More on the EU’s Digital Single Market legislative efforts is here, and on copyright in general is here.

Cosmos Market
Hi All
It has been a month since I started this project.
The Kickstarter is getting ready to expire. Will I renew it or set up a new one? I don’t know. I might, I might not. It depends on whether I change my goals and how I change them. That will be discussed further below.
I am definitely leaving the GoFundMe up and running, because I am going to open a bookstore, it’s simply a matter of finding the way.
A basic form of it can be found at the bottom of my Kickstarter.
You’ll be helping a small business get started
You get a personalized signed copies of my book, yes they are digital copies but I will still be making the signing for each personal, scanning them in, adding them to the file and sending them off.
For those that indulge in the season: it is the season of giving.
All I can ask is you take a chance. Money is important, as it funds everything. Sharing the GoFundMe or Kickstarter is just important as it shows it to new people. All I ask is you take a few moments to share this, the GoFundMe or the Kickstarter. I understand however, if you are not willing or able to.
Thank you all for reading this,
Jaimi
