Bad Batch Food Headcanons:

Was having the meal of champions (soju, galbi, and buldak) and it got me thinking,,

So have this collection of random food headcanons:

Crosshair insists he can handle spicy food but he cannot. He's eating hot cheetos and he's fucking crying

Wrecker had to build up a tolerance for spice - he fucking LOVES spicy food ("It's like an explosion in my mouth!!") but couldn't handle it at first. Now he can handle buldak with half of the spice packet!

Hunter and Tech can handle their spice decently but Echo isn't too fond of spicy foods.

Like Wrecker, Omega built up a tolerance to spice, but also like Crosshair she's sensitive to it and will insist that she can handle her spice

Echo is a picky eater. That's like canon. He doesn't care that he's a grown man, he's ordering mac-n-cheese at the fancy restaurant. Deal with it.

Tech is another picky eater but he thrives off instant stuff like ramen or snacks like chips. Man can plow through a whole Costco-sized bag of tortilla chips in one sitting without realizing it.

Hunter has a stomach of steel, he'll eat anything and everything. It's only a matter of REMEMBERING to fucking eat. He'll stand up, nearly faint, then go, "What the hell?" and it's because he hasn't eaten since fucking yesterday.

No Crosshair, an ice coffee is NOT a suitable breakfast. How many times do we have to tell you? And aren't you fucking lactose intolerant???

Oh they love their dinosaur chicken nuggets though - especially Omega and Wrecker. They'll dunk them in ketchup and create a whole murder crime scene.

Yo of course agua de jamaica counts! As does the sweet tea mixed with lemonade (also known as an Arnold Palmer and also is good spiked with vodka~).

I have opinions on this lol. I make my own agua de jamaica, but it's kind of just whatever I thought sounded good so it's not exactly authentic. But the base is hibiscus tea. That is still very much tea. I cold brew mine with loose petals, a stick of cinnamon and a whole piece of star anise... and of course a ton of sugar and a lil bit of honey. But if you look it up, the recipes can vary greatly, but they all have hibiscus tea!

Sweet tea is the same thing - it's just black tea with a butt load of sugar.

I love them both and while I prefer the cold brew method, most traditional recipes call for brewing the tea hot first. And then chilling it in the fridge or with ice. Which is basically the exact same thing as regular tea - it's leaves that are steeped in boiling water. That part's the same!

The thing you might be liking about these two cold varieties is the sugar. Both of them have a high sugar content! So if you don't like drinking hot tea straight (as is often the method in the US), you might like it more if it was made into a tea latte or just had milk and sugar added to it.

I think Barbatos would probably start by trying different things. He might make you a matcha tea latte, which is also quite a different flavor. He might just make you some milk tea. I absolutely headcanon that Barbatos makes his own boba so you know he could just whip you up a bubble tea with boba at any time. Taro is my favorite flavor, but there are so many to choose from!

He might try just making you regular tea with milk and sugar added to it. He might try different blends - regular black tea is pretty boring, but add some cinnamon and cardamom (and other spices) to some Darjeeling and now you've got chai instead, which is delicious. Maybe he makes you a London Fog which is an Earl Grey latte. Maybe he goes with the green tea, which has a more subtle flavor. If you like agua de jamaica, you might like floral teas. Perhaps he gives you some jasmine green tea or some rose or lavender teas. These are all human world variants (because that is what I know... and yeah I know a lot about it lol), so he'd probably also try some Devildom types as well.

If you really don't like any of his offerings, I think he would make something different just for you. Barbatos cares a lot about MC's enjoyment of what he makes. So I don't think he'd want you to just power through something you don't like out of politeness. He would notice right away and call you out on it and then make you something else.

I think Barbatos might be able to find some other teas that you enjoy, but even if he never manages it, I think he would accept that.

He would just be sure to always have a batch of agua de jamaica or sweet tea and lemonade ready for when you come over.

1.) I love bubble tea. My usual go-to is mango or passionfruit or pineapple bubble tea. Black tea. Over ice and half boba/ half coconut jelly( nata de coco) . If I'm crazy and am in the mood for the dairy, I'll take a coconut milk tea over ice again with the half boba/ half coconut jelly. Taro milk tea with boba is pretty good too.

Muichiro 100% seems like a person that would enjoy anything blue. He's a kid after all. However, most natural foods aren't blue 😅 Therefore, I think for a go to flavor he might branch out of the box a bit and go for something new. Perhaps maybe pineapple? He looks like someone that would enjoy tropical fruits, despite being a bit of a picky eater.

Mitsuri is by no means a picky eater. Yo girl will eat anything and everything in sight no hesitation. However, given that her favorite kind of mochi is sakura mochi, her boba wouldn't stray away from that ideology either. However I think she might go for the occasional matcha or strawberry boba every once in a while. Just so that way she doesn't get sick of the sakura flavor.

Obanai, well, he doesn't really eat much. But one things for sure; he drinks plenty of fluids. How else could he go three days without eating? He'd probably not get anything fancy, and stick with generic flavors or even no flavor at all. He likes the simplicity of black milk tea with the tapioca pearls. Though, I don't doubt that he's tried the sakura boba that Mitsuri likes at least once, just to get a feel for what it's like.

Gyomei is probably the type to like really floral flavors. Due to the fact that he's blind, he relies on his other senses to really get a feel for things. Therefore i think he'd have quite the expanded pallet when it comes to food. So not only does he indulge in boba (his favorite flavor being, get this, lavender), he also enjoys aloe drinks. He likes the orange and raspberry ones. But he will get the original aloe drinks if he's really in the mood for one.

Rengoku is definitely a spicy man, both in breathing style and personality. And his drinks of choice always reflect that. But I'd imagine he does have a bit of a sweet tooth. So his go to would be caramel milk tea with mocha popping pearls. Ah yes, the flame hashira never fails to amaze it seems. However, he might indulge in a mango boba every once in a while.

Tengen Uzui, omfg the pallet this man has is 1000000% EXPENSIVE- but I digress. For a flashy man, he's got flashy taste... except when it comes to his boba. He's like a kid with it, although he'd probably just get some tea with the popping pearls for flavor. He likes iced black tea with raspberry popping pearls. Or he'd just stick to matcha boba. Like, yes he likes flashy things and wouldn't usually settle for less, but with some things he just enjoys them simple and easy. And boba is definitely something that he keeps simple.

Shinobu, like Gyomei, has a knack for floral flavors. However I don't think she'd go for something as exotic like lavender. She likes oranges, mainly because of the vitamin C and when its in milk tea it tastes like a dreamcicle! Although if she really wanted to branch out she'd go for something like dragon fruit or star fruit.

Giyuu has never been one for anything sweet, but one time Shinobu finally bugged him enough to the point where he gave in and got himself some boba. He got the taro flavor and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was. However he didn't really like the tapioca pearls and vowed that next time, and every time after that, he wouldn't get the pearls lol. But if he's not getting taro, he's getting melon milk tea. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Sanemi is a force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to boba. Like Muichiro, he's a child when it comes to food. Always a little picky and particular in what he likes. So yes, this man loves strawberry boba with strawberry popping pearls. No I won't elaborate, because thats simply the way he likes it. And if he doesn't get strawberry, he gets the next best thing. Which in his eyes is just regular black milk tea with caramel popping boba.

Tanjiro is definitely a tea fanatic. Having grown up in the mountains it's helped keep both him and his sister warm. Therefore I think he's developed an appreciation for all kinds of tea. But his kryptonite is Thai tea, it's sweet and spicy, kinda like cinnamon tea that has a bit of cardamom in it. And when its mixed with the milk and the pearls he just slips into a state of bliss. He just finds it very comforting.

Though Nezuko is a demon, that doesn't mean that she can't indulge in human food. I mean come on, she sleeps for sustenance, the girl is practically invincible. But with that said, she'd definitely appreciate human food whenever she gets the chance to have it. She doesn't really like boba or milk tea, so she prefers iced tea with the popping boba so it doesn't leave residue on her teeth or a sticky feeling from the boba pearls. She likes iced green tea with lemon or ginger popping boba. It helps her rehabilitate her throat after all of the grunting and growling she does all day.

Zenitsu has always indulged in expensive foods like eel and whatnot. But like Tengen, he likes his boba simple. And half the time it's not milk tea, it's actually lemonade! He likes the classic lemonade with either strawberry or blackberry popping boba. He can't help himself, its his guilty pleasure. He'll usually reward himself with it after a long day of training, or after a major mission was accomplished.

Inosuke is, uh, unhinged to say the least. But when he gets his hands on boba of any kind, he goes feral. You know what this dude likes? I'll tell you, but you gotta promise me you won't have a heart attack. This boy likes iced cold brew with caramel and mocha popping boba. There. I said it. It's nothing but pure, unbridled caffeine and sugar. But I think it's quite befitting for him, because before you know it, he'll crash and get so worn out after training is over. So it's kind of a win-win situation lmao.

i adore boba tea! it's so fun to drink with the big straws lol. i love just like a regular boba milk tea! also taro is good, and i don't mind like strawberry either. i do hate popping boba though. i don't like how it feels :(

i adore the book thief by markus zusak. i read it for the first time in 8th grade and fell in love with it. it's an intense book, but it is so totally worth it. it defined me as a person today. zusak is a literary genuis dude.

oh ice for sure! i miss having ice in my water, because my dorm doesn't have an ice machine. i always drink my water with ice at home though

if i'm in the uk i'm basic and go to bubbleology and always, always, always get rose milk boba with poppin boba (the flavour varies depending on my mood) and tapioca pearls

if i'm in la it's basically the same but at alfreds tea room /alfred tea (you should add them to your american food list) in melrose

if i'm in sweden i go to this little taiwanese lady who i've been going to for the past idk 10 years and she tells me stories about growing up on taiwan and usually i let her decide for me bc she knows best but if i'm in a hurry my go tos are strawberry milk with passion fruit popping boba and tapioca pearls or chocolate milk with cherry popping boba and tapioca pearls

My order also very much depends on my mood, also the time of day and also the weather, if it’s evening I always want a milk tea with tapioca pearls, love the brown sugar tea and taro tea, if it’s daytime and sunny then it’s always a fruit tea, I usually go for a strawberry tea with strawberry and lychee popping boba, or I’ll have a mango tea with tapioca and passion fruit boba and if it’s cold out I usually have a bobatella from bubbleology cause its diviiine

I can’t say that I have an opinion because I can’t remember the last time I had taro anything tbh. I know it’s a popular milk tea flavor but I usually stick to more fruity flavors a majority of the time like mango/strawberry/coconut. (Although I had rosehip bubble tea recently and it was killer.) I’ll have to give it a try!

It depends on the Nightmare. Some are subjected to experiments, some are left to rot in their cells, and some are sent to have meetings with Doctors to talk about whatever. MC is part of this group and is the one that most often talks to the Nightmares. Most others don’t care to.

It’s a known fact to the doctors that Nightmares take much longer to deteriorate mentally/physically compared to humans, and so they’re not really cared for well. They maybe get a meal a day, wash whenever the guards allow them to, and get virtually nothing for mental stimulation. The best they have is the ability to talk to their cell mates.

Jungkook does guard all day everyday. He’s stationed on the 13th floor aka the floor all our Nightmares are stored on. He’s usually close to Yoongi and Seokjins room but also has rounds that he has to do. All in all, it’s a bit of a boring job heh.

hi angel!! not weird at all hahaha i love that you recognised it. actually i usually go to boba club but on that day at coco i took the strawberry black tea after deliberating for a while. i also love their taro milk tea!! 30% sugar and less ice is my go-to. at boba club i rotate between the strawberry yakult, the matcha cheezo or the strawberry cheezo. at gong cha i get the taro milk tea. yesterday at boba club i had the mango strawberry sago and it was delicious! I'm craving bubble tea so bad right now it's hot as hell and i wanna try the strawberry peach cheezo from boba club. if you'd like pls let me know what's your go-to order at coco I've been meaning to try more stuff from them!

Do you have a favourite tea or do you like tea in general?

Overall, I do like tea! I like milk teas the most! Theres a tea place I like going to in the city and I usually get the Rose tea set which is a teapot full of rose tea set over a tealight and matching teacup you drink from and they pour you the first cup. It's really cute and it tastes great! I do also like Lavender tea but if Rose is an option, thats my first pick!

I also like bubble tea if that counts! My favorite flavor is taro but some places the taro flavor doesn't taste good to me so my backup is almond which I love. There's a bubble tea place also in the city that has fruit teas and I usually don't care for fruit teas but I do like their strawberry and peach one and I get with yogurt flavored pops which are like the tapioca of the drink but instead they're little balls that when you bite into them, a burst of juice come out!

I also like the royal milk tea that come in those little cans. They taste so good!! I usually like to have it fridged and then when i drink it leave in room temperature for a bit and it tastes best to me when I do that. My one complaint is i waa they were bigger. But i have other brands that taste good so i could just go for those if anything.

Thai iced tea is also good! I've actually bought the stuff needed to make my own at home! Its a lot of work but worth it bc it tastes so good!! If this counts, I also like iced tea where I mix 4C iced tea powder with water and mix for iced tea. OH! Also, the Arizona brand Raspberry Iced Tea is sooooo good!! I love how it tastes so much!! I could drink it forever!

There were also teas I've had at my friend's house that they got from a shop from the city (yes everything I love is in the city lolol) but I don't quite remember what they were. I do know I like them with sugar in it!

And yea, thats all I can think of.
