Was in a mood, so this probably got a bit more fluffy/cute than I had planned. Cuz what's better than a jealous guy who yearns. I wanna rewatch Sinners so badly, but they only showed it for two weekends in my city, can't wait for it to come out other places, hopefully. 

Imagine going to the Juke joint, not because you really like to party all that much, but because youve missed the Smokestack twins a lot.  

You three used to run together when you were kids, then teens, and then you all split when the war came. You went back to Mississippi, and the twins went off to do their own thing. 

It might also have a lot to do with the fact that it was Smoke that asked you to come. Had it been Stack, you might have had the ability to say no, but Smoke has this way of looking at you when he wants something that makes you crack. 

Smoke is a man of a few words, but his eyes tell so much when you know where to look. The way hed chewed the inside of his lip, hands twitching at his side, clearly wanting to busy himself with something. 

He was adorable, to you anyways. If you told anybody else that you found Elijah “Smoke” Moore adorable, you would probably be claimed a lunatic. 

But you knew him. Not as much as Stack did, you don't think anyone knows Smoke that well, but you gotta be second on that list. Or else Smoke wouldn't have snuck all those kisses and comforts during your lives.

The moment you two are alone, Smoke is on you. At first you thought he was gonna jump your bones right then and there with how fiery his eyes were, but instead he just clings to you. 

Smoke buries his face into your neck, clinging to the back of your jacket, tense like a bowstring as he huffs and puffs, clearly trying to suppress whatever burning anger he's got going on. 

It's always a sight to see Smoke getting so angry that he's trembling, only time he gets like this is when Stack or you are hurt, or when you get flirted with, it seems. All that time apart must have made it harder to deal with his emotions. 

He doesn't need to speak to express what he's feeling, his loud shaky breathing and tight grip is explanation enough, so you hug him back just as tight and mutter loving words and promises. 

You two stay in there for a good while, with Smoke just not wanting to let go of you, because if he does, he knows hes gonna lose it. Its a miracle he hasn't caused problems yet. 

Having you kiss him and hold him does start making him less tense. Smoke is always tense, it comes with the lifestyle, but with you it's less bad.  

When he gets this jealous, Smoke kisses you like he's trying to suck the very soul out of your body. All your half-baked complaints never work, even when you mumble between the smack of lips that it'll expose your relation. 

Hes only satisfied when you have kissed him back just as hard, and you two have reaffirmed your love and relationship. That yes, you are his, but he is also yours. No, Smoke, their advances dont mean anything, and no Smoke, you cant hurt anybody.

Inhuman!Vessel Headcanons

Note: Here's Vessel!! There's still the PolyVessels to go, but I hope you're all enjoying this little series so far!

General:

The oldest of the vessels, and Sleep's first convert. As such, he has a deeper connection with the deity, despite II converting not long after he did.

This also comes with extra powers and more inhuman traits. Vessel has six eyes, long canines, an elongated tongue, and pointed ears. For powers, he has extra strength, stamina, speed, and the ability to adjust his physical form. And that's on top of his unique inhuman powers.

His powers are that of song. Specifically, he has an unnatural talent for writing music and performing it, both instrumentally and vocally. Like a siren, he's able to draw people in using just his voice.

Being Sleep's primary vessel can be draining, especially when communing with the deity. His eyes will glow, and he will also emanate a blue glow from his mouth, almost like whisps of smoke during more intense sessions. His hands and limbs will twitch as well, depending on the type of communication occurring.

Due to the levels of strain on his physical body over the centuries of connecting with Sleep, Vessel will sometimes have tremor episodes. This is especially prevalent in his hands, and it happens more so when he's singing.

Vessel isn't 100% serious all the time, and he absolutely has a sense of humor. Known to partake in prank wars with III from time to time, and is prone to getting The Zoomies when he's got a buildup of energy.

Has tried to keep up with the language of the times over his centuries of living, but the manor doesn't get visitors often so it's not unusual for him to slip into some more archaic language when he speaks. Most of his grasp on evolving language comes from the books the manor supplies in the library.

Very rarely gets angry, but when he does, it's a terrifying sight. His physical form will change, altering into something decidedly more inhuman than he already is. The rage is almost palpable coming from him. As such, he tries his best to keep a tight lid on any anger he happens to feel.

Fluff:

Vessel's affections are best described as... "encompassing". He loves hard, and there's very little room for doubt as to where his heart lies. If there's anything he does well, it's worshiping. Whether that be Sleep or you, the sentiment is the same.

Very find of writing songs, prose, and poetry for you. He's more likely to show you the songs he writes than the rest, but he keeps a small journal full of his musings about you.

Loves to hold you, especially with your back to his chest. He feels most content when he's got his arms around you, ensuring you're safe from everything. He also likes when you straddle his lap; even if it's just to talk. Vessel just likes looking at you.

Constantly kissing you. Whether that be on your hand, your shoulder, your lips, or anywhere else he can reach at any given time, Vessel almost always has his lips on you.

Vessel is nothing if not a hopeless romantic. He doesn't want to just "date" you. He wants to court you. He wants to make you feel like royalty. There's not much he won't do for you.

Quickest way to relax him (or even put him to sleep) is to massage his scalp. Bonus points if he gets to rest his head on your chest while you do.

Venom (hell yea) - pretty self explanatory, this is like 1 year after Peter became spiderman which means he have now less time for Harry and Mj, he have lot of work with hero stuff and S.H.I.E.L.D. and also at this time his team (why they didn’t gave team name at usm, I’m gonna call them Spidey team for now lol) starts attending same highschool as them, SO Peter is very secretive and his lame excuses don’t really work on Harry so he is angry about it, feels jelaous about Peter spending more time with other people and their friendship naturally starts slowly falling apart… therefore when Harry finds Venom he doesn’t really hesitate and takes it (yea he wears those venom watches like in show) and for while he become black suit spiderman, but as plot goes on due to his emotions (anger + daddy issues, this guy is mess) he slowly starts loosing control of Venom (he is somewhat still aware of his actions but he is way more agressive and brutal, also attacks Norman). There is like lot of fights between him and Spidey team, but at some point peter finds out about harry being venom so he instead of fighting tries his other super power - let’s talk about it, which obviously doesn’t work. His team still fights him as they seems to belive it is best way how to handle it… later harry also finds out about spideys secret identity so it become even more personal and messy… during last fight peter is one who defeats harry and takes away venom from him

4. post venom - harry now doesn’t really have anyone to trust, he doesn’t wear fancy clothes anymore (he wants to distant himself from the name Osborn), he starts smoking and skipping classes (maybe he even drops out of school but still not sure about that), Peter obviously tries to fix their friendship but it’s still broken beyond repair… althouh they know each others secrets they both won’t share it with world (they might not be friends anymore but they aren’t assholes). Also- I gave him scar, which is probably not from Peter but rather Ava (she scratched his face during one of the figts or something)

and i was highkey like huh because honestly after fred dies percy feels a ton of guilt, yet there’s probably still some residual anger from feeling wronged by his family, but thats seemingly overpowered by the severe amount of guilt and blame thrust upon him by himself and the people around him, maybe even anger at himself for leaving as if that somehow lead to fred’s death (and honestly, i feel like this could potentially be a passing thought for some of the weasleys) and anger as a facade for something deeper has always interested me as a concept

and like i jibe with the idea that the weasleys really dont understand percy that well especially with the way in which he emotionally expresses himself, and its worse after the war as theyre more distant — like, he’s more avoidant, he’s trying, but he’s awkward, he might not be able to look at them in the eyes BUT that may be taken as thinking he’s superior, or thinking he’s angry and that isn’t the case at all

like skin stained red with his brothers blood, something that sticks, something that cannot be washed, the kind of guilt that no amount of repentance can ever quantify a semblance of forgiveness, condemned for the sin of survival. like, almost this feeling that you’re perceived constantly for the person who should be there in your place, that everyone knows it should’ve been you — the disloyal, unfaithful black sheep of a son who abandoned the family, and yet you remain while your younger brother is dead.

Sorry for the delay. You asked mostly for Kai's so I delivered. If anyone wants more hcs about the others I can work on it some time in the future (I also have more of Kai).

Now the hcs:

• All the ninja have PTSD from everything they’ve been through

• And abandonment issues

• Cole has an eating disorder and eats when he’s stressed, this is one of the reasons he is very insecure of his weight. People online poke at him for it

• Jay's terrified of losing his loved ones again because of him. That is another reason why he went absolutely crazy post Seabound, as he thinks it was his fault Nya had to resort to sacrificing herself

• He used to be bullied for living in a junkyard before becoming a ninja and that's why he was ashamed of it

• Zane always shoves down everything wrong that happens to him (e.g being the Ice Emperor for way too long to be ok about it) because he puts the team and their needs first.

• Nya has nightmares from the time she died in skybound but doesn't tell anyone.

• She had to keep her work and love life secret from her brother for fear that he would shut her down to protect her. Her fear persisted well into s1 and that's why she felt she had to hide Samurai X even from Kai

• Lloyd still admires his uncle despite his obsession with the green ninja (and all the neglect that came with it) because he's the only relative that actually took him in

• All of the ninja have at some point hidden an injury at least once. But Kai and Nya are the ones that do it more often (Nya specially when she was samurai X), and know how to treat mild wounds because of it.

• Kai and Nya do physical activities when they’re stressed or have emotions they don’t want to process. They can do their thing like Kai working in the forge and Nya doing mechanics but they usually train, however they can go on for hours (Kai has passed out a few times)

• Kai and Zane have a very poor sense of self. Zane’s comes from him not valuing his life and thinking he’s expendable since he can be rebuilt, ignoring all the trauma that comes from getting severely hurt or “dying”. Kai has problems seeing his worth as a human being because he’s never lived for himself; everything he does is for someone else and so he thinks his value resides in what he can do for other people. 

• Kai is terrified of the idea of being alone, it’s his worst fear.

• He has THE WORST coping mechanisms and Zane is confused on how his body was able to go through all of them (Alcoholism, illegal fights, smoking…)

• Kai is an insomniac, he barely sleeps most nights and instead just waits until he passes out (He has very deep eyebags because of it but hides them with make up, covering his freckles too). He sometimes bumps into some other ninja at night since they all have fucked up sleep schedules. 

• Lloyd also has a lot of problems sleeping because of nightmares and goes to Kai or Nya’s room where he feels safer (mostly into Kai’s). Sometimes they stay up at night chilling or they try to sleep. In those cases the nights with Lloyd are the ones where Kai sleeps the most because he feels safer too.

• Kai has chronic depression because of his fucked up childhood

• Lloyd thought he had depression too for a while but it turned out to be autistic burnout because of the stress of being the green ninja. But he can’t properly rest or heal from the burnout so he’s exhausted most of the time.

• When he’s stressed Kai forgets to eat and can go days with very little food because he’s used to it from being poor in his childhood.

• Genuinely forgot what it feels like to be a kid and have no responsibilities so it’s his personal mission to not let that happen to Lloyd. Kai would be devastated if Lloyd ended up like him.

• Kai sometimes feels insecure about his face scars and contemplates hiding them with make up.

• Kai’s touch starved but terrified of letting people in.

• He hides his negative emotions as anger and when the others try to reach out to him he pushes them away by getting angry at them until it's mutual and they leave him alone.

• Never told the others about what he did after Zane’s “death”. He fixed himself up, alone.

He's done quite a lot of it in his life but no longer does, not only because his ass is dead and he can't get high but because such crass indulgences remind him of his younger days

Despite his size, he can really, really hold his own in a fight, though he fights very dirty. Hand to hand fighting triggers something in him and he does it with pure rage. His opponent will be on the ground before they know it and he'll probably have killed them before he realizes what he's doing

Putting these in order from what I assume are, roughly, least-to-most disturbing/triggering overall, including the details. Starting with the ones that have wholesome anecdotes and then getting... idk bad. Please note that I don't consider Disability or anything LGBT+ to be disturbing, but it's the other details in those headcanon paragraphs that are.

Kakyoin is legally blind after the events of Part 3. His eyes only healed temporarily after N'Dour's attack, and then he lost his vision gradually over the course of two years. It got to the point where he uses a white-tipped cane, and sees shapes and colors without details, unless they're in an image that's blown up to be about the size of a wall in a small apartment bedroom. He draws and paints a lot more often than he used to, since he finds his new view of the world interesting from an art perspective.

Jotaro's wife, Vanessa Cantillo, is a woman from Colombia who moved to the U.S. to start her own funeral home. She was a mortuary student in Colombia to a man who was very jaded and irresponsible with the corpses he worked on. Learning that the U.S. as a whole isn't much better than that teacher with their approach to corpses and their perspectives on death actually just made her want to open her own practice even more. She owns a funeral home in Florida and also started a non-profit that helps low-income families have the funerals and send-offs they want, with a lot less harm to the environment.

Johnny is Transmasc. His father was absolutely horrible to him about this as soon as he found out. Nicolas secretly would let Johnny try on his clothes and would say he looked much happier in them. George was against Johnny riding horses from the beginning, saying it wasn't "lady-like," and had Johnny in ballet classes. Which, Johnny didn't dislike, but he certainly liked riding horses a lot more.

Jotaro is Autistic, and doesn't tolerate ableist bullshit from anyone. Also Autistic: Jolyne, Giorno, Shigechi. While Jotaro was in Morioh, through Josuke and Okuyasu, he observed how Shigechi wasn't being accepted by his peers. He became sort of a mentor to Shigechi and helped him to be more confident and self-accepting. Shigechi's death broke him, but he didn't really process that until after he told Shigechi's parents what happened to him. After that, he got back to his car, held back for as long as he could, and then broke down sobbing.

Giorno has asthma. He firmly believes that he wouldn't have it if Shiobana hadn't forced him to grow up in such a filthy environment, and if Shiobana and her new husband hadn't smoked indoors with the windows closed when he was a child. He told Bruno about this early on in his recruitment into Passione. He only had an attack around Bruno's group once: after the incident with the snake venom in Pompeii. Abbacchio didn't yet know that Giorno had asthma, but he recognized the signs of an attack from some of his police training: the death rattle wheezing, and the skin around Giorno's neck slowly collapsing around his bones like shrinkwrap. He quickly got everything constrictive away from Giorno's chest and looked for an inhaler and helped him use it. When the attack stopped and the rest of the group showed up, Abbacchio of course showed his relief with misdirected anger and cursed Giorno under his breath, hissing stuff like, "Why didn't you tell me, why the fuck was your inhaler in your goddamn shoe and not a pocket or something," but Giorno just had this grin on his face 'cause he knew Abbacchio was glad Giorno didn't die.

Pucci's father was abusive and homophobic towards him, as well as abusive to Pucci's mother. The first time Pucci truly stood up for himself against his father was when, one night when his father demanded him to do a late-night bible study session, Pucci grabbed the heaviest bible in his father's office and struck him so hard across the face that he broke his nose. Pucci had reached a breaking point.

Abdul is Intersex. As an adult, he doesn't really care what gender people perceive him as. His parents accept him completely, but that doesn't mean the world does. He grew up in a conservative society, and was bullied horribly in school (not just for being Intersex). People didn't like that they "couldn't tell if he was a boy or a girl." When he got to his late teens and early adult years, this discrimination became dangerous because he tried to be in romantic relationships a few times. Abdul is only interested in men, and they would typically follow through with whatever sex they assumed him to be. More often than not, they would become abusive when they found signs of him not identifying with a specific gender or that he didn't have the body they were expecting. One of these relationships, when he was nineteen, was so particularly violent that Abdul went to live with Joseph for a while (Abdul couldn't bear having his parents see him in shock or with any of the visible results of that relationship). Joseph broke down crying at some point at Abdul's bedside while thinking Abdul was asleep, and unconsciously admitted that it was very hard to see him like that because he thought of Abdul as his own child.

Doppio and Donatella are both Trans, and Doppio was the person who gave birth to Trish. He almost died from this, because he went into labor from the sheer amount of stress from the fire starting in his home village and his adoptive father dying. He gave birth to Trish alone, on the beach, with no anesthetic or anything. Donatella hadn't even known Doppio was pregnant, as their relationship was basically a random fling during a drug bender. So it was a huge shock to her to find a lone baby on her doorstep wrapped in a blood-stained sweater, a few days later when Doppio had the strength to climb back up to the town. He knew he couldn't take care of a baby, considering he'd just lost his only guardian and home, and already hadn't been coping well with his mental health problems and substance addiction. After passing out from blood loss and dehydration, he woke up in a hospital in a town untouched by the fire and smoke. He had to have surgery and remain hospitalized for his untreated injuries, and seemed very confused where said injuries had come from. The Sardinian police also came in to start harassing him when he was lucid enough. He kept insisting on speaking to his adoptive father. He had completely lost his memories and was extremely freaked out when hospital personnel confirmed he had given birth recently and when police accused him of abandoning a baby.

Giorno's parents are both women (besides Jonathan if we're including him). Dea (fem!Dio because more women please??) was the one who gave birth to him, and Shiobana, who's Transfem, sired him. Dea and Shiobana had a toxic, obsessive relationship. Surprisingly, Dea was actually a wonderful mother to Giorno, and had Enya, Vanilla Ice, and Terrence help take care of him. She wanted him to have a better childhood than she did. Shiobana hated children, but at one time when the sun was up, she stole Giorno away and moved back to Japan. No one knows why. Insurance money? Dea was absolutely devastated, so much that she became more fierce and evil than ever before when it was time to fight the SDC group. Her sadistic motivation to kill Jotaro came down to, "I want to make someone else feel the pain of losing a child."

Kakyoin has epilepsy. He didn't want to tell the SDC group about it because he assumed it would make him seem "weak." As an adult, he takes rotten care of himself, out of loneliness. Medication for epilepsy was ineffective at the time, at the very least, to being poison at the worst. He'd often stop taking it, turning to substance abuse instead, which made his seizures more frequent.

Doppio and Diavolo don't have DID. Diavolo is an obsessed stalker from Sardinia who had cosmetic surgery to make himself resemble Doppio, even getting the same tattoos, and he gradually brainwashed Doppio into believing they were the same person. Doppio was so effectively manipulated by him that their relationship became obsessive from both sides.

Johnny was assaulted by a group of other jockeys sometime after he got shot. They nearly killed him. The only reason he survived was because Diego witnessed the assault, and took Johnny to the hospital. Johnny had no idea how he got to the hospital, but he later heard that the group of jockeys had been murdered. At some point during the big race, Diego told Johnny that he was the one who killed them. But he made sure to tell Johnny, "I didn't do it for you. I did it for myself. I already hated those pigs, but I was abused, too. I needed something to take my anger out on. It was fun. So don't get all sentimental on me. We're not friends."

Jotaro's father was physically and emotionally abusive to him, and Holly never knew... mainly because Jotaro didn't want her to know. He never wanted to allow anything to compromise Holly's happiness. Sadao showed a different side of himself than the one he showed to Holly when he was alone with Jotaro. Jotaro knew he would have to wait for Holly to die in order to do anything against Sadao. And even then, what would the law do? Sadao was internationally famous and beloved. He stopped abusing Jotaro once he became an adult, but Jotaro still wanted repercussions for how much Sadao had fucked up his life, and he worried what Sadao's behavior might be like towards some of his fans and that he could be using his influence to abuse more people. In adulthood, Jotaro had already been gradually losing his grip since being called to Morioh in 1999, starting to lose a significant amount of weight due to an eating disorder that flared up terribly due to the stress and from quitting smoking. But once Holly died around 2006, and he and his wife were getting closer to deciding on a divorce, Jotaro started to become almost unrecognizable. He had started smoking again (after he had quit in the 90s for the sake of his wife and daughter), and eventually he was up to a few packs a day. It was at Holly's funeral, though, when everyone witnessed just how badly he was coping with everything. He had left the funeral a multitude of times to sit in his car, smoke, drink, and blast music. The last time he went back in, he glared coldly at Sadao, stamped up to him, and started beating the shit out of him. If Jotaro's wife hadn't gone up behind Jotaro and put her arms around him, Jotaro would've killed Sadao for sure. Sadao was so badly beaten at that point that his eyes were swollen shut, his nose was broken flat against his face, his teeth were on the floor, and all the fingers on one of his hands were bent the wrong way. Jotaro was covered in almost as much blood as he was. Jotaro had told his wife about his father's abuse, including all the sordid details, and the only reason she stopped him from killing his father that day was for Jotaro's sake.

I love Octavia and I live my life assuming people are exaggerating or being intentionally obstinate on the subject.

But

She can be mad at Stolas and still love him. That's not only possible but also an incredibly normal thing. 90% of the people I know irl are both mad at and love their parents. Most of the world is not as simple as "I hate my parent and want nothing to do with them" or "I love them and will forgive them instantly and will put my own hurt aside to see things from their side".

I genuinely mean it when I say this isn't just a possible explanation for her behavior and opinion. It is such a normal and standard thing, especially for teenagers and young adults, that it is maybe THE most common plot line and/or trope for that age range (after romances obviously). If Octavia didn't both love her dad still (she protected him from her uncle) and feel immense anger and betrayal toward him (she doesn't care about Blitz he has nothing to do with her life, she only saw her dad sumbit to a beheading on live TV and then found dozens of bottles of happy pills in his stuff), she would be weird THEN.

Real people experience lots of emotions at once, and when you're a teenager you have to deal with a lot of heavy stuff for the first time.

She can want Stolas to stay away for a while, to give her space, and still want him to be in her life.

She doesn't even have to acknowledge this consciously. She can look at him and say "I hate you I never want to see you again" and still not mean it. Has anyone here ever been an angst teen? A teen that went through some real heavy shit? Has anyone here ever watched the multitude of teen-and-young-adult media that centers around realizing your parents are people not just mystical creatures called "parents"?

My mom has always been obnoxiously sexual as long as I've known her. She would make innuendo, she had romance novels on the bookshelf in the living room, her favorite alcohol that she got for Christmas or Thanksgiving or whatever was called "Hot Sex" because of the name (imo it's gross). I did not like that as a teenager, it made me uncomfortable, and the rest of her issues (bpd, smoking, bad with money, etc.) were always our issues, and I hated her for a while.

But you fucking know I was in that hospital with her when she had a stroke. I still go out to eat dinner with her when we both have time. We still talk and we still have common ground. I'm almost as fucked up as she was at my age, now, and I still don't LIKE hanging around her all the time, but I also still like her.

Octavia still loves her dad. Not only is it possible she has complex emotions and is struggling to work through everything on her own (mad at her dad, neglectful and emotionally unavailable and immature mother), but it would be more weird if she didn't.

It isn't a complex answer. It isn't a convoluted headcanon. It's the only reasonable way to look at her right now. I think she is incredibly well written and I can relate to her well enough. I know plenty of other people relate to her well enough. Yes she is a fictional character and will STILL be less complex than a real world person in that situation, but she is still handling the situation reasonably. From a storytelling perspective, her reactions are perfect. They are the medium through which we learn who she is, and she is every teenager victim of parents who hate each other.

What would the three of them think of someone who can somehow "tame" these things and just keeps them around as house pets? They just hang out in their home and on their little plot of land (that I'd imagine is isolated because people moved tf away when the rumors started spreading) and keep any threats away. Maybe the way the three of them meet their S/O was finding out that Alternates were being warded off from there. Idk, I haven't had a chance to get fully invested in MC but the idea just sounds really interesting. Also, I have the mental image of a Mimic putting away the dishes and someone's immediate reaction is screaming "What the FUCK is that?!?!" And just getting this whole explanation of what it is and that this one and all the others are friendly despite it needing to be reminded that the human in front of them is not food.

He was relieved to get away from the Alternate-populated Mandela County for a while.

But when you answer the door while preparing dinner, you called out for James (one of the male Mimics you named) to stay in the kitchen...

Without realizing how extremely suspicious that sounded until you saw the look on Mark's face. "Who's James?"

"Oh! He's uh...can you wait here while I-?"

"Is he your new roommate or something?" He jumps to conclusions immediately, thinking you're cheating on him as you never told him you lived with another person.

In anger he storms past you to confront this "James" you were apparently being so secretive about....

Before you could stop him, he sees the Mimic and freaks out, causing it to drop the plate it was holding and screams right back at him.

You're quick to disperse the situation before it becomes a bloodbath, but by then it's too late. Mark was thoroughly traumatized.

When you mentioned living with creatures who kept the local Alternate population out of your town..he didn't think they'd be be skinless humans.

He locked himself in your bathroom, trying to stave off a panic attack as he recites his prayers, convinced there was "evil" hanging over your house.

Eventually he lets you in and you help him calm down, reassuring him that wasn't the case at all before explaining the Mimics and their role in your household, answering whatever questions he had (which were a LOT).

"Even if they're not demons....why would God make something like that?"

He's made jokes about the Mimics before.

But he didn't think they were real living and breathing creatures you were coexisting with.

Even after you explained how you "tamed" the Mimics, he's too scared to leave your side or be alone in the same room with one.

Their permanent smiles and wide eyes just...give him the chills. Even if they're just staring with curiosity, he always insists it's a look of hunger.

They are aware he's dating you and will playfully threaten to eat him, but never actually go through with it bc you'd probably kick them out and leave them without food.

Finally! The first off to break the ice, Shadow! The menace of all the shadows be upon ye!!

He was pretty fun to design and not too complex for the start. It didn't take as long as I've been actually scared to color him. Thankfully, since I was finally able to do it digitally, my fear calmed down. He could've been done earlier if I had any opportunity to color digitally, but I'm still very proud with how he turned out. For someone who didn't do art in general and especially digital art in a long while, im really satisfied with this. He's just a little menace, that's all :)

Data & Information:

- After the defeat of Vaati, he disappeared and was sent back to Shadow World. In this AU, he doesn't die and doesn't need any sort of resurrection. He stayed alive on the other side of the mirror.

- Even with betrayal and everything that happened between him and Vio, he's completely fine with it and now understands that Vio was only doing his duty. He placed it aside and decided to leave it in the past and he got over it, now seeing Vio as his best friend like the betrayal never happened. It hurts him to see that Vio is struggling to accept that he completely forgave him.

- He's still a demon, so some demonic traits slip occasionally. The canines are something he can't hide (or refuses to?). Tho other traits like claws and a snake tongue can be managed. These mostly slip when he's dealing with strong emotions like anger.

- Speaking of him being a demon, he's disguising himself as best as he can to look like a Hylian. It's sometimes just difficult to keep his Dark Magic in check so he purposely sometimes let's it secretly down a bit.

- He's not afraid of light as he was before, but he's not fully fine with it either. Kinda like 50/50. Still prefers to be in someone else's shadow if it's too bright outside. This is why he prefers slightly clouder days.

- Loves to define the gravity. Very rarely walks and mostly just floats. He does sometimes walk to see how it is for Hylians to be on the ground.

- His pronouns are he/him, but he's also fine with "it" pronoun. He thinks that since he isn't human at all that he doesn't deserve human pronouns, so "it" seems mostly inhumane to him. Vio obviously doesn't agree with his view and is trying to convince him that just because he isn't a human doesn't mean that he should treat himself like that. If you do use "it" for Shadow, in Shadow's view, you did nothing wrong.

- His hat mostly waves like smoke, but it also reflects his emotions. Rarely, since it takes him a bit more of his magic to do so, he uses it as a third longer arm. But again, it takes him more magic for that so he doesn't do that often. He sometimes even forms it like a regular hat to not draw attention, but smoke like movement is it's natural way so that's most common. It reflects his emotions which doesn't drain his magic.

- He can change his eye color at will. Scarlet color is the base.

- The scarlet highlight in his hair is purely inspired by Vio's hair highlight. It makes his eyes stand out and especially at night, since both can have a low glow at dim light. (Somehow that highlight of his hair can glow and so far it doesn't seem to take him his magic to do so)

- Can shapeshift without much issues. He does it often so it's becoming easier and easier for him to do so. Since he's still not fully fine with light, it is harder for him to shapeshift if he's directly on sunlight or any other form of light.

- Speaking of light, he's completely fine with moonlight. He says that it cools him down and that he actually loves it. It could be that moonlight even boosts his strength and Dark Magic.

- This is his basic form, tho when he's a silhouette (coming out of someone else's shadow), he mostly copies that persons look and is literally like a living shadow. Just imagine your shadow standing up on its own, that's basically it XD.

- He's a real imitator, so he can shapeshift into other people and even copy their voices. He loves to prank people with that ability but somehow it's starting to not work on the Links. They say that there's something in their voice that he can't copy so they always figure it out.

- To keep his canines in check and sharp, he has a bone in his inventory and just spawns it when he feels like chewing it. He kinda looks like a dog when doing so but he doesn't mind. He knows that he has to keep his canines healthy.

- He doesn't understand water. For some reason his hand just goes through and doesn't get wet if he drowns it underwater. He doesn't get wet when it's raining either. So with this, he's just confused about the concept of water.

- He gets along well with everyone so far. Blue easily gets annoyed by him but they're still good. Green shares his height with him and since he's the leader he includes him in everything as well, trying to prove him that he's part of the team as well. Red loves to listen to his random yapping sessions and they love to prank the rest of Links together. Shadow's also trying to learn how to cook. Results so far? Black chicken and rice and macaroni pudding. He somehow made it. And Vio? Besties forever. They get along with everything. Well, most of the time. There are some besties shenanigans.

- He's also pretty good friends with Zelda now, tho they don't talk much because they just can't find the right time to. Lately, Zelda's been really busy with kingdom duties that she's rarely free.

- He fights with his sword from the Shadow World he has, he says that he lost his Four Sword?

- He doesn't feel temperature and can't get sick like Hylians can. He can feel physical, mental and emotional pain, but some human traits like homeostasis are either completely missing or traits like responding to stimuli are very weak. He does have reflexes but are very weak and slow. He's working on improving them.

- Dark Magic allows him to do lots of things. He loves pranking the rest with it. But he can't overdo it or he'll exhaust himself. This, unfortunately, happened many times, which resulted into him collapsing and even fainting multiple times

- He might be unable to get sick, but he can get something similar. There was once a time period when he was something like sick, but no one was able to figure it out what it was. The closest the Links were able to associate it with was nauseous. It turns out that Shadow can't get human illnesses, but there are some types of shadow illnesses he can get. Thankfully he did heal from that after a while. Still unknown what it was, but it's important that he got through it.

- He doesn't really have the best memory. He very often forgets things, and if he does remember, it somehow gets "corrupted" in his mind. His memories often don't match his way of speaking and he doesn't know the reason behind this. It's a good thing to have someone approve or correct him when he's talking about something from his memory. The Links aren't sure why does this happen, but they have theories that it might be because of the disappearing at the end of the manga, but it can also be just because he's a demon and not a human.

- He's really like a Bombay cat when it comes to personality (affectionate, playful, extroverted). Bombay cats are also Velcro cats which means that they like to stick with their owner and can be a bit clingy to them. Shadow can work like Vio's Bombay cat XD ✨

- He literally had a life before the events of the manga. He was kinda glad he left the Shadow World, but after disappearing he was sent back to it, which made him both frustrated and scared. Before the events of the manga, he lived in the Shadow World as nothing more than just Vaati's servant, which was only pain and suffering. He was also bullied around by people for being the only shadow that "doesn't have it's own right and is literally a copy of someone else". This always frustrated him but also hurt him. It is why he was angry at Blue when he called him "just a shadow." It reminded him of those bad times and he spent his life trying to prove people wrong before and during the manga. Now with that he was sent back to it, he was partially afraid that he'll be bullied again. He won't have anyone to rely on for help and would be left on his own, and unfortunately he was right, he was left on his own when he came to the Shadow World. Even though Shadow World is technically his hometown, he hates it and has bad memories of it, now always trying hard just to leave it as soon as possible ✨

- For the current story of TSoW, he works as a narrator every even chapter and retells the details of the moments of being sent back to Shadow World. He retells how it was to return there and how he escaped again, since in the TSoW present time he's in the Light World. The past holds important information and details so he knows that he can't leave the reader not know what happened in the past.

- In TSoW present time, he's mostly being in Vio's shadow, rarely coming out.

Photophobia - Sensitivity to light. It's more of a sensitivity than a phobia.

Heliophobia - fear of The Sun, sunlight, or any bright light

Thanatophobia - fear of death, but can also be associated with fear of losing loved ones due to death

Tyrannophobia - fear of dictatorship

Athazagoraphobia - fear of being forgotten or forgetting

Isolophobia - fear of being alone, isolated, abandoned, and ignored

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - ADHD

Separation anxiety disorder - causes fear and anxiety centered on separation from a close attachment figure

Post-traumatic stress disorder - a disorder in which the person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event

Shadow is definitely the most confusing and complex character of this AU, that is why this might be short and lots of data might be confusing and unexplained. Im trying to avoid major spoilers for the story so that is why if you're confused, good 👍 Everything and i mean every plot hole and gap and anything that doesn't seem to make sense will be explained by the progress of the main canon story of The Spirit of Wisdom.
