Ji-ho trying to act like a normal girl, though. I just imagined that scene from Killing Eve, but in reverse.

Ji-ho attempting to be 'sweet' and 'cute' like other girls her age, but it never reaches her eyes- which always look too 'dark' and almost dead inside. She makes adults uncomfortable because they don't know what to make of her: She has no kid-like manners, she walks around with the silent confidence of an adult and seems way too mature for her age, so they always can tell something is 'off'.

Verdot does not have a fucking clue what he is doing, so he has his wife buy her clothes, gives her spending money for food/neccessities, but doesn't teach her how to budget at all.

I mean, she'd wear it cuz Veld gave her them, but it also increases the dissonance when she does as she's learned to get by independently- the image of a literal 15 year old pulling a Slav Squat while wearing knee-high poofy socks and some ruffled pink monstrosity of a dress, thumbing through some random's wallet she lifted.

Keep thinking about her getting super bored and leaving the apartment to buy some groceries, only to realize she has no clue what she likes to eat (or even wtf she could make with raw produce). Notices this classy af box of black and gold cigarettes (the same ones Jae-hyo smokes later as an adult) in the display case of the convenience store and asks if they're any good, kinda gets shit from the owner for being obviously too young to buy, thus a waste of time.
