take me out to the back of the shed (and shoot me in the back of the head)
(Read Anne as Courtney!Anne)
Title is from the song Old Yeller. It’s apparently a TikTok trend song but I first heard it from a furry animation when I was in 8th grade lol
Word count: 3112
Prompt: “Calm down! You’re scaring me!”
———————
“Jane! Jane, look at this painting I made for you!”
“Yeah, yeah- hang on a moment. I’m busy.”
“Jane-”
“In a minute.”
“But-”
“In a minute!”
This is the exchange Anne watched from down the hall- Joan following Jane around with a canvas gripped tightly in her hands like a little duckling and Jane doing her best to pretend the girl didn’t exist. After she was snapped at, Joan moved away slightly, but then perked up, hope glinting in her eyes.
“Okay...I’ll wait in my dressing room, alright?”
“Alright,” Jane said, not really listening to what was being said to her.
“Just come in when you’re done, okay?”
“Okay, Joan.”
“Great!” Joan beamed. “I’ll be waiting!”
With that, Joan turned around and scurried back to her dressing room, an excited smile on her lips. Anne watched her go, waited a moment, then walked to Jane’s room. Inside, the woman seemed to be packing up to leave for the day.
“You’re going to go see Joan, right?”
Jane looked up as she was grabbing her purse. She sniffed, nostrils flaring slightly, clearly miffed.
“She can wait.”
“She would starve to death by the time you finally got around to seeing her,” Anne pointed out, leaning against the doorframe with her arms crossed over her chest. She raised an eyebrow at Jane as if to add, “Am I wrong?”
“I have other things to do.” Jane said, sliding past the comment instead of facing it head on.
“Like what? Knit? Watch Love Island? Cuddle Kitty for the hundredth time?” Anne narrowed her eyes in an accusing stare. She’s been defensive of Joan ever since the Live where the music director fell asleep in her lap. “All of that stuff will still be there after you take ten minutes to go see what Joan made for you.”
Jane’s soft, kind facial features contort into that of a snarling white tiger’s- teeth bared, eyes alight, ears pinned back. But Anne wasn’t scared of her- not anymore. Deep down, she knew that Jane was nothing but a scared little kitten trapped in a circus cage.
“Joan isn’t my main priority,” Jane said dismissively, but the tiger’s claws remained unsheathed. “I don’t have to do anything for her.”
“Jane, that girl would take a bullet for you.” Anne said, stalking closer. Her voice went into a low whisper- a growl of sorts. “You know that, Jane. She would do anything for you.”
It was like a stare down between a tiger and a mountain lion- neither wanted to back down or step away.
“Why can’t you just be a good person? I’m not asking you to sign adoption forms for the kid, I’m asking you to just be a friend to her and go see what she wants to show you. It’s not that hard. It’s— her presence isn’t going to strike you dead! Just go look at her painting!”
Jane stared into Anne’s smoldering eyes, adjusted the strap of her purse hanging from her shoulder, and stepped past her towards the door.
“Kitty needs me.” She merely said.
“Of course she does,” Anne rolled her eyes. “It’s not like there’s three other fucking people living in that house than can respond to her every beck and call.”
Jane didn’t reply, as she was already out the door and making her way to the lobby by the time Anne finished her grumbled comment.
Anne considered going after her and dragging her to Joan’s dressing room by the hair, but she didn’t want to give the woman anymore thought. So, instead, she went to the dressing room herself and her heart broke a little when she saw Joan sitting patiently in the chair at her desk, legs swinging back and forth excitedly, smiling down at the canvas in her hands. Her head snapped up when she heard Anne step inside, but her expression dimmed when she saw that it wasn’t the silver queen.
“Oh. Hey, Anne.”
“What? Am I really that bad company?” Anne said teasingly.
“No,” Joan said, giggling slightly. “I just- I thought you were Jane.”
Anne frowned. She walked over to the girl and set a hand on her shoulder. Joan looked up with those adorable, glistening lamb eyes of hers and the words momentarily caught in Anne’s throat.
“I don’t think Jane is coming, dear.”
Joan blinked. Anne knew she knew what she meant, but she was trying to not believe it by playing dumb.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“She just left.” Anne answered gently.
Like that, all hope and excitement is gone in a flash, replaced with deep sadness that forms over Joan’s head like a thick, dark rain cloud. She looked down at the painting lying in her lap and clenched her fists tightly around the edges.
“Oh.” She whispered.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” Anne said. She looked down at the canvas, too, and before her eyes soft watercolors and metallic paints and dark line-art came together brilliantly to form the beautiful painting of Jane Seymour. It was a bust shot of her in her show costume, but she was also adorned in shimmering strings of diamonds and pearls and topazes, and had a sparkling crystal crown sitting atop her head.
“This is beautiful, Joan!” Anne exclaimed honestly, because it absolutely was true. Joan truly was skilled with paints and pencils. “You’re so talented.”
“Thanks,” Joan replied, slightly disconnected. She appreciated the comment, Anne knew she loved praise, but she didn’t want to hear it from the green queen.
She wanted to hear it from the silver one.
Joan sighed and stood up, and Anne half expected her to destroy the painting or throw it away, but a tiny, hopeful smile actually tugged at her lips.
“I’m just going to leave it on her makeup table,” She said. “So- so it’ll be the first thing she sees tomorrow!”
Anne smiled and gently rubbed the girl’s head.
“That’s a good idea, Joey!” She said, even though she knew the odds of Jane actually going to Joan and telling her how much she loved the piece of art were very slim.
Still, for the time being, it cheered Joan up and she beamed at Anne before hurrying to go put the canvas in its place. Anne’s smile disappeared the moment she was out of sight and she sighed. She made a mental note to stay up until 11:11 that night so she could try wishing. Might as well see if the superstition was true.
———
Anne ended up falling asleep way before 11:11, but it didn’t matter because she knew trying to wish on a set of ones on her phone screen and alarm clock wouldn’t have made a difference since Jane would still be prancing around the theater like she is now, as if she hadn’t been gifted a gorgeous work of art. Anne wasn’t even sure if she had even seen the painting, but upon peeking inside the dressing room and seeing that the canvas was moved to the side of one of the makeup tables proved that Jane had, in fact, seen it.
She just didn’t care.
And that made Anne furious.
Poor Joan. She didn’t even have time to warn or distract the girl before she was skittering up to Jane with excitement glittering in her eyes.
“Jane!”
Jane sighed as she was getting a cup of coffee from the break room. If Joan heard the noise, she didn’t acknowledge it and just kept up her eager demeanor.
“Hello, Joan,” Jane said. All evidence of the warmth she had been speaking to Kitty with just a few minutes earlier was now gone.
“Did you see my painting? The one I made for you?” Joan asked. “I waited for you yesterday, but you didn’t come in and I just assumed you were too busy, so I left it on your table! It was there, right? Did you see it? Or did it get moved? Was it there?”
“Joan!” Jane growled, her hand clenching tightly around the cup she was holding. The sudden sharpness in her voice made the girl before her step back slightly. “Joan.” She smoothed out her tone, but remained as caring as Zira from The Lion King 2. “I saw it, yes. It was there.”
The momentary flash of fear and anxiety from getting yelled at disappeared from Joan’s eyes. She perks back up again, her feet now shuffling and tapping happily on the floor (her “Happy Feet”, as it's been dubbed by Maria).
“Oh! Great!” If she had a tail, it would definitely be wagging. Or if she were alone, she’d probably be frolicking around the room like a happy little lamb. “So? What did you think? Did you love it? I mean—like it? Did you like it?”
“It was nice,” Jane said, trying to swerve around Joan and her radiation of glee blocking the path to the door.
“Really?” Joan wanted more. She wanted more than just ‘nice.’ She needed more. “I’m really glad, Jane, because it was the first time I tried out watercolors and metallic paints together in one painting so I had no idea how it would turn out but it seemed to be good, right? I mean- obviously! You just said it was nice! B-but, umm-” She watched Jane walk for the door without really listening to her. She followed after her desperately. “S-so— Are you gonna hang it up?”
That’s what got Jane to stop. She turned to the girl impatiently fidgeting behind her and looked at her as if there were elephants parading out of her ears.
“Why would I do that?”
Up until that moment, Joan had been looking at Jane in a way that made it seem like there were swelling hearts in her eyes. But those hearts just broke with that single comment. Joan is left scrambling to pick up the pieces, but can barely catch anything, as all her hope also bleeds out through her fingers.
“B-because I...I made it. For you.” She said meekly.
“Fans make me stuff all the time but you don’t see me putting it on the fridge,” Jane chuckled, actually quite amused by the situation. “It was nice, Joan. And I appreciate it. No need to push it farther than that, because then it’ll just get weird. Like I’m worshiping a simple drawing or something.” She laughed again, then continued her stride out the door.
Joan was distraught, but as she watched the queen leave, her words fully sinking in, anger bubbled up inside of her. She grit her teeth, fingers clenching into fists. She could feel the ram horns poke uncomfortably against her forehead and slowly breach from her flesh, primed for blood.
“It’s not just some simple drawing, you—!!”
That’s all she could yell before Jane wheeled back around and stared at her from the hallway. Then, she enters once again and Joan backs up in fear, as if she were being stalked by a starving white tiger. She could almost see it in Jane’s face, but her teeth weren’t bared. Her lips were just set in a startling flat line that brought out the horror of the rest of her blank features.
“What? What?” Jane prodded. “I’m what?”
“Nothing...” Joan squeaked, hunching her shoulders in and lowering her head.
“I’m what, Joan?”
“Nothing!”
“A jerk? A prick? A bitch? A cunt? What am I, Joan?”
“Nothing! You’re nothing!” Joan cried. “I’m sorry!”
Jane had Joan cornered- literally. The girl was backed up in the far corner of the room near the window, which she glanced at for just a moment, as if she were considering jumping out of it to get away from the queen’s sterling wrath.
Jane calmly set down her cup of coffee on the nearby counter and laced her fingers together against her stomach. Her gaze was callous and cruel, offering absolutely no pity to the girl cowering beneath her uncaring stare.
“I’m going to explain this to you once, Joan, so you better listen because I will not tell it to you again.” She said. Her words are slithering slowly from her lips like venomous snakes, scaly and fanged. They bite Joan’s ears, pumping their poison into her brain no matter how hard she tried to combat them. “Nod if you understand that.”
Joan nodded shakily. She isn’t making eye contact, rather focusing her gaze on the floor and nothing else.
“I am not your mother figure.” Jane said bluntly, not even bothering to sugarcoat the comment. She was so tired of having Joan trying to force her way into her life. “You are not my daughter.”
With just those two simple sentences, it was as if Joan’s entire life just ended. It didn’t just come crashing down to her feet- it was over. She was nothing without her queen.
“B-but—”
“You are not my daughter.” Jane repeated coldly. “Do you understand me?”
This time, Joan doesn’t nod.
Jane narrowed her eyes dangerously.
“Nod, Joan.”
“Wh-what about—Kitty-”
“Don’t bring her up, Joan. This isn’t about her.” Jane warned lowly.
But Joan couldn’t stop the words that began to bubble up in her throat. Her voice comes out way too loud and way too shrill and way too desperate, but she can’t choke it back.
“Why? What does she have that I don’t? What did I do? What can I do to make you love me like that? Why her? What makes her so—”
The sound of a slap resonates through the room.
Joan was hit so hard she actually stumbled into the wall. She tentatively touches her stinging cheek, which burns upon contact, then looks up in fear at Jane, whose hand is slightly red from the force she had used.
There is no remorse present in the queen’s steel grey eyes.
“Do NOT speak of my daughter in that way again, you vile little pest!” Jane roared. Her old self, her fearsome queen self slips out in her words, and it chills Joan to the bone. “I will bring your guts into your mouth if you even THINK to do it again!”
It’s as if Jane was dehorning Joan- grabbing onto the ram horns with strong, clawed hands and twisting and twisting and twisting until they snapped off and are pulled out of her flesh with copious squirts of blood pouring free, leaving twin gaping red horrors open in her head.
“C-calm down!” Joan squeaked. “You’re scaring me!”
“And you WONDER why I don’t want to be your mother figure!” Jane went on, ignoring the plea. “I could list a hundred reasons right now and that still wouldn’t be enough to explain to you about how much I don’t want you as a daughter!” Joan doesn’t ask for any of them, but they’re still shoved down her throat anyway. “You’re clingy, you’re needy, you expect everyone to like you, you’re always tugging at my sleeve, you seem to think everything is about you, you act like a complete attention whore, to name a few! Why would I EVER want to be the mother to someone like you?”
“HEY!!”
It was like watching two big cats fight on a wildlife documentary- Anne seemed to come out of nowhere and charged her entire body into Jane’s, sending them both slamming into the back wall.
They tussle and squirm for a moment, snapping and hissing and clawing, and then Anne’s hand closed around Jane’s neck. Not enough to choke her, but enough to shove her head back up against the plaster and grind her skull into it.
“Anne, get off of me—”
“You bitch! You fucking bitch—”
“Get off—”
“You’re absolutely—”
“Stop—”
“What gives you the fucking right—”
“Let go—”
“You deserve to—”
Jane shoved Anne’s shoulders with both hands, causing the woman to totter backwards before she regained her footing. She almost lunged at the silver queen again, but somehow managed to tame herself enough to not pounce on her like a puma and gouge her eyes out, as much as she wanted to at that moment.
“You are SICK!” Anne yelled.
“You were about to strangle me!” Jane fired back.
“Yeah? Well, I wish I fucking did! Because God knows you deserved it!”
Anne paused her spray of fire to look at Joan, who was hunched against the wall, knees buckled and barely holding her up, tears streaming from her eyes, one hand cupping her swollen, red-purple cheek. Anne snapped her head back to Jane, bloodlust and rage blistering in her eyes.
“Did you fucking hit her?” She snarled.
“She was being a—”
“BULLSHIT!” Anne snapped, cutting Jane off. “That’s not what I fucking asked! Did you hit Joan?”
Jane just glared at Anne, as if she were an angry child that didn’t get the toy they wanted.
“Oh my god,” Anne half gasped, half laughed. “You absolute cunt! You really think that nobody else in this world matters, huh? Some ‘cast mother figure’ you are. It’s just you and that spoiled little weasel you keep on a harness!”
Despite loving Kitty to death, Anne couldn’t care about the comment she just made about her baby cousin because it was true.
Jane went to say something, went to somehow defend her actions, but Anne was talking again.
“I get it now! I finally understand!” She said. “You didn’t die of natural causes at all! You died from God striking you down because he KNEW what a horrible, cruel mother you would have been. He SAVED Edward from you!”
Finally, that’s what got Jane to crack. And, damn, it felt good to watch horror twist up her features.
“You really do have a heart of stone.” Anne spit.
She crossed over to Joan, who had been crying silently, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, helping her stand. The poor thing was shaking so badly.
“Come on, sweetie,” She whispered, her tone softening in an instant. “Let’s go.”
Joan staggered for a moment, nearly collapsing, but Anne managed to hold her up. She grappled onto the queen’s shirt and Anne could see that her cheek was definitely bruising.
“Oh, Joan…” Rage bubbles in her veins. She hears the girl whimper. “Shh, it’s okay. I’ve got you. I’m not going to let her hurt you ever again.”
Anne casts a dark look at Jane.
Jane does nothing but stare forward blankly, lost in her own memories.
“Come on. Let’s go get something for your cheek.”
Joan didn’t resist. She let Anne guide her out of the room.
But not without Anne shooting out one last comment.
“Oh, and I’ll make sure to vote for you as Mother of The Year, Jane.”

‘wouldn’t it be nice?’
okay so ever since i made my Joan and Jane fic (here) I've decided i wanted to make a oneshot for all the ladies and their queens! this one is a lot more happy because my heart can’t handle a sad Maggie rn like i’ll die.
this is also me just being a wannabe soccer jock because i finished my first season this school year :> of yea and if i accidentally refer to it as soccer and not football i’m sorry i’m a dumbass american
synopsis - Anne thinks today would be the perfect day to kidnap her closest friend and sports-related hijinks ensue! with maybe a slight side of bruises and concussions..
Words - 2593
Trigger warnings - none that i know of but tell me if you think i should add one!
Maggie loved the early summer. It was the perfect time of the year, not too hot nor cold. She could leave her window open to let in natural sunlight during the day, she’s always hated artificial lights, they give her headaches. It was the best time to just hone her skills and relax, she could let all of her stress just melt away. The brunette started learning a new song she heard so she could play it to the ladies and queens. “Wouldn't it be nice”, by some old american group called ‘The Beach Boys’, it was a nice feel good song the guitarist just felt amazing hearing. The old song’s lyrics remind her how good her second chance at life really was, “And wouldn't it be nice to live together,In the kind of world where we belong?”, it was perfect.
Her hands gracefully floated over the strings, eyes locked on the chords displayed on her computer screen. It felt like the world had stopped moving for a moment, like everything was calm. Well that feeling didn’t last that long. Maggie’s hands suddenly gripped the neck of the instamet as a large crash came from down stairs, ‘oh no what is it this time’. The musician laid her guitar down on her bed right as a slew of very creative and colorful curses came from what she could only presume was Bessie. With a quick trot down the stairs she was soon to find a very peeved bassist, a started pianist, a confused drummer. She made haste to the living room where they were standing to also find one very apologetic tudor queen and one rambunctious gremlin on the floor, oh and a slightly broken window.
“Gosh Bess I’m so sorry about her, we just got back from pret and i let her buy a large chocolate frappe, i'll pay for the new window..”, the blue clad queen said with a sorry smile. Maria spoke up with a curious tone, “Wait why are you guys here anyway? Atleast give a reason Miss Kermit the Hulk over here came crashing through our window?”, the green eyed woman finally stood up from her place on the floor and shuffled shyly. “Well Cathy wanted to come over and get some piano lessons from Joan and I tagged along to hopefully get some time with my favorite ferret!”, Maggie gave an amused chuckle and stepped forward. “Well okay you sugared up raccoon, what did you wanna do?”, Anne made her way to the couch and plopped down, “Well before we do anything, you need to go change into some shorts and a tank top oh and put your hair up. Cathy then grabbed one of the two drawstring bags she had been holding and handed it to Anne, who was already in some black running shorts and a neon green muscle tank. “Well me and Joan are gonna go hit the keys, you two have fun with whatever trouble Anne will get you both in”, and with that the two shorter girls made their way across the room and began to talk quietly.
The band member made her way back up to her room and began to pick out an outfit. ‘ Huh, I wonder why Anne is having me wear sports gear..the only kind of sport she watches is hockey and that's because she thinks it's funny to see them beat the shit out of each other’. She opened her closet and picked out some white athletic shorts(with pockets because all pants need them in her opinion), and a pastel cyan dri fit shirt with a black double note on the front. Lastly, she ties her hair back in her normal high ponytail she wears for shows.
Finally they were ready and made their way out of the house and onto the London streets. Anne still had her green bag, without giving a single hint to what could be inside. They made their way down into the nearest tube station on the Piccadilly Line. Maggie could now slightly narrow down the places they could be heading, but just a little. They stayed on the hot tube for a good few minutes before the hyper woman pulled her off and gave her a little time to look at where they had gotten off, Hyde Park Corner. This had just gotten even more puzzling as they made their way up to the surface. They were so close to leaving the station, till they had to scan their oyster cards. Anne had gotten through the gate easily with a quick swipe of her card. Maggie walked forward and scanned her card, but as she was walking through she felt a pressure on her waist. The Confused woman looked down to find out.. The gate had closed on her and she was stuck in between the two sides of the machine. “...Well shit… that's a problem”, the two rudor women laughed and Anne waved down a worker to let her friend out of her plastic-mechanical prison.
They finally made it out of the station, at least they already had a funny story to tell the others. They ambled their way down the stone sidewalk, smiling and laughing like school kids. “So I tell Joey about the whole pasta-wall test and she actually does it! Wait it gets better, she grabs a handful of angel hair spaghetti and chucks it at the kitchen wall! In front of Maria and Bessie! Let’s just say she wasn't allowed to be near any kind of noodle for a while”, Anne bursts out in laughter even stronger than back at the station, wiping tears from her eyes.  Suddenly the green queen stopped and grabbed her friend’s hand and pulled her over to the other side of the road. “Tadah! We are gonna hang out here and try something new!”,the enthusiastic woman points to the stone arch like structure above them. “Hyde Park? What could we possibly learn here?”, Anne gives no answer as she continues to drag the poor musician into the park and off to a flat clearing.
The Boleyn girl stops right in the middle of the small grassy area and finally pulls out what has been hiding in her bag, a basic football and a small bluetooth speaker. “I thought it would be fun if we learned how to play Football! It seems easy enough and it would be fun bonding for us!”, she put the speaker down next to her bag and put the ball at her feet. Maggie was beyond confused, neither woman had ever tried sports, she knows Cleves runs and does boxing with Kathrine but that's about it. The guitarist gave a nod to the woman in front of her, she was about three meters away. Anne pulls her foot back like a bow and slams the front of her foot into the ball and sends it flying towards the other burnette. The ball hits Maggie’s right shin, she stumbles back and trips over the object at her feet and falls on her backside. “Ow shit!”, both women say loudly, Anne holding her foot and Maggie on the ground clutching her shin.
“Okay so bad idea, maybe we should..I dunno, learn how to play the damn game before we start kicking shit?”, the tudor queen gave a shy nod as she walked over and helped the injured girl to her feet. Maggie pulls out her phone from the pocket of her shorts and goes to her trusty friend, Google. “Okay Mags we should start with how to kick the damned thing without breaking all of your toes”, the guitarist gave a small chuckle and searched what Anne had suggested. After about thirty seconds of looking she finds a short Youtube video titled, ‘How to properly kick a soccer ball’, huh made by an American i guess. She clicked the video and turned her phone so both inept reincarnates could watch. The woman in the video showed her foot parallel to the ball, lightly kicking it with the inner side of her foot, unlike Anne who ‘toed’ the ball from what the woman said. The demonstrator showed how to open your hips wide to pass forward and how to angle your foot to make sure the ball goes in the right direction. After the tutorial ended Maggie turned her phone off and returned it to her pocket. “Okay Anne go back to your spot with the demon-sphere so we can try this again”.
So it was take two and they widened their stances slightly like the player in the video did, “Okay Mags remember to stop it with the side like she said so i don't break your foot! God the other Ladies would kill me..”. Anne got ready and tilted her foot outwards slightly and pulled back, she hit the ball correctly, well sort of. She used the right part  of her foot but hit the very bottom of the ball and it flew upwards and towards the poor ferret-like woman in front of her, hitting her square in the face. Maggie stepped back and made a low grunt noise and held her face. “Christ Annie what did you do wrong this time? You did exactly what she said and it was still fucked up!”,Anne gave a confused look with a tilt of her head, “I dunno ‘M, maybe it was wind?”.  Both gave a frustrated sigh as they sat down on a nearby bench and started to think. Before they could conjure up a coherent thought, Maggie spotted 3 teenage looking girls with matching gold and red sports uniforms with low and behold, a football. The younger girl shot up from the bench and gave her queen a confident smirk, “Anne i think i have a good but also maybe terrible idea”, she sped up to the girls and stopped them in their tracks.
“Hey sorry to bother you girls but erm… you play Football right..?”, the three girls looked at each other confusingly, “Um”, the tall brunette girl starts, “Yea we are on our school’s team..why?”. Anne catches up to Maggie right as the conversation continues, “Well I’m Maggie and my friend Anne and I want to learn how to play but we are kinda…”, Maggie trails off for Anne to finish, “Bad at it, like really bad”. The tanner girl with gloves on stepped forward with an amused look, “Well okay then, we were just about to go for a short practice so we could totally help you out!”, she put her gloved hand out for Maggie to shake, “I’m Samina, I’m the team’s goalie and these are two out of three of my defenders, Piper”, she points to the girl from brefor who gave a small wave, “And brooke”, a shorter brunette looked up and gave a small nod. “So I see you're already kinda set up here so let's get to it!”, the goalie led her girls over and gave the older pair an encouraging smile, “Show us whatcha got ladies!”.        All five of the girls got in a wide spread circle with Anne’s ball at her feet. “Okay so first things first, do you know how to kick it without hurting yourself or sending it to the moon?”, Anne looked over and answered for Maggie, “Kinda, we can do it without harming our precious feet buuut it went flying and ‘bout gave Mags a broken sniffer..”. The shortest girl gave a small nod and gazed over at the pair, “Well then you hit the bottom of the ball, next time hit the middle or top, but i say middle because you might trip if you hit the top”, she said in a monotone voice. Anne decides to give it a go and turns to face Maggie, giving her a look that says, ‘be prepared because this might end horribly’. Giving her queen a quick nod she gets ready to receive the weapon of death, aka the ball. Anne pulls back and hits the ball just like she was told and it zooms towards Maggie on the ground and the brown eyed woman manages to catch it with somewhat ease. “Nice job Bo!”, she says as she rushes to give her green clad friend a high-five who gladly returns. “Now”, Piper starts, “time to learn how to dribble with the ball!”. Both girls groan in response.
After about an hour and a half of learning the simple methods of the sport the girls had to leave so it just left Maggie and Anne to figure it all out from there. Maggie spots an opportunity to turn up the fun and jogs over to Anne’s speaker and connects her phone. An upbeat guitar melody begins to play and just a few seconds later words start to emit from the speaker, “Wouldn't it be nice if we were older? Then we wouldn't have to wait so long?”. The musician gives a bright smile as the cheerful song plays, she now could really understand how grateful she really was for this new life. She sauntered over to the smiling Boleyn girl and they began to pass the ball around and laugh. They practiced thier passess and dribbleing, even tripping a good few times which made their smiles even brighter as they became covered in dirt, grass, and small bruises.
“Annie! Heads up!”, the ball flew past the queen’s head and into a tree behind her, getting stuck up in some branches. “Shit sorry, i'll go up and get it dont worry!”, Anne gave a worried glance, “Are you sure Maggie? We could just throw stuff at it to knock it down..”, Maggie had already started scaling the tree. It was anything but graceful, she looked like a blind cat with a missing tail, left leg, and whiskers, she couldn't balance at all. After making her way up about 5 or so branches she finally got to their beloved horri-ball. She grabbed it with her left hand, leaving her right, non-dominant hand, to be the one holding onto the flimsy branch above her, it was a recipe for disaster. “Hey Anne, I got the bAL-”, where her last words before the branch gave way and she went tumbling to the ground. Luckily or not so luckily, her dearest queen was there to break her fall. “I told you so”, is all Anne could croak out from under Maggie before she pushed her off. After that fiasco they moved a tad bit farther from the trees so they didn’t have to go home in full body casts.
After a few more hours it was starting to get dark and they thought it best for them to head back to their respective homes. They parted ways and started the trek back to their humble abodes. “See you later Mag! I'll text you later!”, and with that Anne was gone, Maggie has always wondered how she just vanishes right when you take her eyes off her. After a very cautious tube station trip and ride, she was finally home. The guitarist, happy to be home and rest, opens the door, ready to have some quiet time. Her dreams are slightly crushed as she sees a small brown blur scurry across the hall with a very distressed Maria rushing after it. The drummer stops in her tracks to make eye contact with her bandmate, “Bessie,Cathy, and Joey went out for dinner, don't say a word about this Margret”, today just got even more exhausting.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay well that was an absolute acid trip-
i hope yall enjoy some cute bonding shit becuase the last one was so edgy n shit, and before any of you ask, yes the three girls on my team who are all really amazing players and friends and i love them so so much-
the next one will probably be with Maria and Lina and them dealing with Maria’s.... new little predicament haha

No Matter Where Or When
TW: Anxiety, Panic attacks
During their first few months Anne and Maggie seemed to have picked up exactly where they left off, the two of them were almost inseparable. So it surprised everyone when the two of them began avoiding each other. They would tense up whenever they saw one other, avoid eye contact and barely spoke.
She doesn’t need you anymore, Anne thought to herself as she lay awake one night, She’s got Bessie, Maria and Joan now. They’d never hurt her, unlike you. Anne rolled over and folded her pillow over her ears, but you can’t block out your own thoughts. You mad her watch her best friend die. She had to stand there and watch as your head was cut off. She always felt sick after executions, imagine how she must have felt after yours. She nearly passed out during a beheading, remember? And she didn’t even know the person. She hid behind you so she wouldn’t have to see and she still had nightmares for weeks afterwards. You knew that and yet you still put her in the position where she was forced to stand beside you as you died. Anne shut her eyes tight, doing everything in her power to block out the thoughts, Some sister you were.
Maggie’s shaking hand hovered over her phone, She’s not going to like being woken up in the middle of the night. She’s already avoiding you, do you really think she’ll appreciate you calling her at 2 in the morning because or a stupid dream? Bessie’s more than happy to let you sleep in her bed so why bother Anne? Even if she is awake she’s probably with her cousin. Kathrine needs Anne more than you do. She’s just a kid, you’re an adult. Maggie let her hand drop back beside her. If you’re worried about annoying Bessie then Joan’s probably still awake, her sleep schedule is worse than Parr’s after all or you could go to Maria. Maybe she’ll let you play with her hair until you fall asleep. It’s not like Anne could do anything anyway. Even if she did talk to you on the phone it’s not like she’s going to jump out of bed and run over here to give you hug. Maggie bit her lip as she dragged herself out of bed. Maybe she would if she was your real sister but she’s not. She’s just a friend, or at least she was. She doesn’t want anything to do with you now. It’s like everyone says, your just the band. You don’t matter. Maggie could feel the tears building up as she crept into Bessie’s room.
“Maggie?” Bessie asked groggily, she was an incredibly light sleeper, “What’s wrong?” Bessie moved over to make room for Maggie. The guitarist didn’t say anything as she crawled into bed and curled up beside Bessie. “You’re alright, would you like to go back to sleep?” Bessie asked as she wrapped and arm around Maggie. Maggie just nodded before shutting her eyes.
It’s just you and Anne, see? You’re both alright. Maggie thought to herself. Annie’s right here. By the time Maggie drifted off to sleep she had almost convinced herself that it was in fact Anne holding her. Almost.
The changes in Anne and Maggie’s behaviour hadn’t gone unnoticed. Everyone, including the audience, had seen the way Anne would look back at Maggie during the show only for her head to snap forward when she made eye contact with the other woman. They had stopped hanging out together between shows or texting each other until one of them had their phone taken away and was forced to go to bed. The two of them seemed more exhausted than both Cathy and Joan combined and Anne’s sense of humour seemed to have taken a holiday.
“What’s going on with those two?” Aragon asked one night, Anne having retreated to her room almost immediately when they returned home from the theatre. “They were always so close, it was like they were joined at the hip or something.” She said, remembering the days when Anne and Maggie had been her ladies in waiting.
“I’m not sure, but Anne’s hasn’t been sleeping much lately. Something’s bothering her.” Kitty’s hand fidgeted, she hated that she couldn’t help her cousin with whatever she was dealing with.
“I’m sure it’s fine,” Jane said, “It’s not unusual for them to be a bit jumpy.”
“Yeah, but Anne’s usually better at hiding it.” Anna pointed out.
“Plus Anne’s always the first person Maggie goes to when she’s struggling with something.” Kitty added.
“Hey Anna, Bessie wanted to-“ Maggie stopped mid-sentence, “I’m sorry, I should have knocked.” She looked down at her feet, all the confidence drained from her. Maggie had a habit of walking into a room and talking to someone before actually checking if they were there. This time Bessie had asked her to see Cleves was still up for dinner that night but the only person in the dressing room was Anne.
“Don’t worry about it,” Anne tried to smile at the nervous girl but just ended up looking as anxious as she felt, “It’s alright.”
“No.” Maggie said suddenly, “It’s not alright.” Despite how quickly she had spoken her voice was still quiet, “I know better than to barge in like this. I never used to do it.” Maggie was gone before Anne could respond.
“Now what?” Kathrine asked as she tried to think of a way to get her friends to talk. Bessie’s idea had flopped and had only resulted in both Anne and Maggie being even more on edge around each other.
“We need to get them somewhere they can’t avoid each other.” Jane thought aloud.
“We could lock them in a room together.” Catherine suggested, only half joking, “Or not.” She added when 7 pairs of eyes glared at her, “Or we could not do that.”
“What about a family dinner?” Cathy thought.
“Yeah, ‘cause the last one went so well.” Maria said, remembering what had happened when one of Anna’s dogs had gotten loose.
“Sorry about that.” Anna apologised for what must have been the hundredth time.
Kathrine took a deep breath before knocking on Anne’s door.
“Yeah?” Anne asked, not getting up off her bed.
“Hey, can I come in?” She heard Anne laugh.
“It’s your room too, you know.” Kathrine took that as a yes and entered the room. Anne was sitting cross-legged on her bed with her laptop in front of her and her guitar in her lap.
“How’s it going?” Kathrine asked, trying to sound casual.
“Alright,” Anne shrugged, “I’m struggling a bit with this chord progression but I’ll get it eventually.”
“I’m sure Maggie would be more than happy to help you out.” Kathrine seized her opportunity. She noticed how Anne shifted a little at the mention of Maggie.
“Yeah, but she’s got her own stuff to do. I can work this out.” Anne looked back at her laptop, cutting off the conversation. Something about the way Anne was sitting told Kathrine it was better not to push her.
“I’m running out of ideas.” Cathy admitted. It had been nearly a month and none of their attempts to get Anne and Maggie to talk had worked.
“Locking them in a room doesn’t sound so bad now, does it?” Aragon raised her eyebrows at the other women. To be honest, not even Aragon was a hundred percent sold on the idea but they were running out of options.
“Say we do trap them in a room,” Joan began, “Where would we do it?” It was a few hours before the group had a plan ready. They chose an old dressing room at the theatre that had been converted into storage. Their reasoning was that there was a camera in the room that would allow them to see what was happening, should something go wrong. The biggest question was how to get them in there.
“Annie?” Kathrine said in the sweetest voice she could manage.
“Kitty?” Anne responded in a similar tone.
“Could you grab me my spare boots from the storeroom? The zipper on these ones broke.”
“Why don’t you get them?” Anne asked, she wasn’t annoyed at her cousin she just didn’t particularly want to do it.
“Because it’s creepy,” Kathrine pulled a face to emphasize her point, “It’s full of spiderwebs and stuff.” Anne sighed.
“Alright then.”
“Fuck.” Bessie said, a little louder than she usually would have.
“What’s wrong?” Maggie looked up from where she was tuning her guitar.
“One of my strings broke and the spares are upstairs.” Bessie sighed, setting down her guitar.
“I can go get them for you.” Maggie stood up, “I’ve finished tuning and it will only take me a minute.”
“Thanks Mags, you’re a big help.” Bessie smiled as the younger girl ran upstairs.
Anne didn’t look up from the pile of shoe boxes she was searching through when she heard the door open and close behind her.
“What happened to this place being too creepy.” She joked.
“Huh?” Anne turned around to find that it was in fact Maggie and not Kathrine who she had heard enter the room.
“Sorry. I thought you were Kitty.” Anne said quickly, turning back to the pile of shoe boxes, “Gotcha.” She grinned when she finally found the one she was looking for. Quickly she made her way to the door. locked. “Real funny Maggie.” Anne rolled her eyes looking over at a seemingly confused Maggie.
“What do you mean?”
“Just give me the key so I can give these boots to Kat.” Anne held her hand out to the girl.
“What key?” Maggie asked.
“The one you used to lock the door.” Anne was starting to get a bit fed up with the guitarist’s games.
“I didn’t lock it.” Maggie told her and something about her eyes convinced Anne she was telling the truth. Anne set the boots on the floor before turning calmly back to the door. However, her next move was anything but calm. Maggie flinched when Anne rammed her foot into the door in an attempt to open it. Nothing happened. A few kicks later and Anne gave up, instead pacing up and down the room.
“Are you alright?” Maggie asked after a minute or so.
“Fine.” Anne’s reply was harsh, harsher than Maggie had ever heard her. Sensing that Anne wasn’t going to talk anytime soon Maggie sat back against the wall and just watched the woman pace.
The changes were subtle at first, an increase in pace, breathing becoming a little less even. Maggie could tell something was wrong. Eventually Anne gave up pacing and went back to kicking the door. After a minute or so she began banging her fist against the wood, and then she started yelling. Maggie had to cover her ears when Anne began screaming through the door. She wasn’t paying much attention to what Anne was saying but it certainly wasn’t the kind of language Jane or Aragon would approve of. Maggie wasn’t sure when she became aware that Anne had stopped shouting, only that it worried her. Removing her hands from her ears and opening her eyes Maggie looked around the room. It took her a moment to spot Anne huddled in the corner, watching the door with wide eyes.
“Anne?” Maggie asked. Anne didn’t respond, “Anne? Are you alright?” Again there was nothing. Maggie decided that it was time to bite the bullet. She knew that Anne would prefer it if Cathy or Kitty were here instead of her but they weren’t. “Anne? Anne, can you hear me?” Maggie said, a little firmer as she approached the queen. She tried to remember what she’d seen the others do when Anne got like this. “Anne, it’s alright. You’re safe here.” She repeated the words she’d heard so many times. Gently, she rested a hand on Anne’s shoulder. Anne responded to the touch, but not in the way Maggie had been hoping. Her eyes flashed towards Maggie before she scurried away under a table. Maggie thought that she might have laughed under different circumstances. Carefully she crouched down in front of the table, making sure to give Anne some space.
“Anne, where are you?” Maggie asked, remembering how Anne had gotten through to her that night at dinner. Anne shook her head, whimpering. “Anne, can you describe where you are?” Again Anne shook her head.
“You need to go.” She said after a moment, her voice shaking as she looked Maggie in the eye, “You need to leave before someone sees you.”
“Okay, this has gone too far.” Kathrine grabbed the key to the storeroom but Aragon stopped her.
“Look.” Kathrine did as she was told and looked back at the screen. Anne had retreated under the table, out of sight, and Maggie was crouched on the ground a metre or so from Anne’s hiding place.
“Yeah, Anne’s having a panic attack, I know.” Kathrine snapped.
“But look at Maggie.” Catherine raised her eyebrows, “I know it’s not ideal but maybe this will help them sort out whatever’s been going on.”
“Why? Why do I need to leave?” Maggie asked, trying to piece together what was going on.
“They’ll kill you too if they find you here.” Anne pressed herself further against the wall.
“Anne, no one’s going to kill me. We’re at the theatre, remember?” Maggie said as it all fell into place. “You’re safe here, we both are.”
“But… Henry…” Anne stammered, her bottom lip beginning to tremble.
“He’s gone. He’s dead.” Maggie reassured her. Anne’s eyes seemed to grow distant as she thought about what Maggie had said. Slowly her hands made their way up to the thick scar around her neck.
“Maggie?” her voice was weak and full of fear.
“I’m here.” Maggie said. Hoping she wasn’t making a mistake, Maggie slowly crawled under the table. She couldn’t help but relax when, as soon as she was in arms reach, Anne latched onto her.
“It hurt.” Anne said, her voice muffled by Maggie’s hair, “It hurt so much.” Maggie could feel the tears soaking through her shirt but she didn’t care.
“It’s alright, it’s over now. You’re safe with me.” They stayed like that for a while before Anne pulled away.
“Sorry.” She said, wiping her nose on her sleeve, “It’s usually Kitty or Parr who has to deal with me when I’m like this.”
“Anne,” Maggie’s voice took on a serious tone Anne had never heard before, “I don’t mind. I’m not ‘dealing’ with you, I want to help you. You’re my sister.” Maggie hadn’t meant to say that last bit out loud. Both Anne and Maggie froze.
“But… I thought…” Anne stopped to collect her thoughts, “I hurt you.”
“No, Anne you never hurt me.”
“But it was my fault you had to watch me die.” Anne’s voice rose as her breathing became more erratic.
“Hey, that was not your fault.” Maggie said firmly, then with a much softer voice she said, “Anne, you need to breath, alright? Can you take some deep breaths for me?” Maggie began to demonstrate, “That’s it. Good, you’re doing so well.” She encouraged Anne as she attempted to mimic Maggie’s breathing.
“I thought you didn’t want me around anymore.” Anne spoke so quietly that Maggie almost missed it.
“What gave you that idea?” Maggie asked, Anne just shrugged.
“I just thought that you didn’t need me anymore, now that you’ve got Bessie and the others.” Maggie couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
“I will always need you. You’re my best friend Annie, no matter where or when we are.” Maggie pulled Anne back into a tight hug.
“I’m sorry.” Anne mumbled into Maggie’s shoulder.
“No, stop.” Maggie tightened her hold on Anne, “You have nothing to apologise for. You’re my best friend and I love you and I will always be there when you need me, I promise.” It took Anne a minute to respond, and even when she did she worried that her voice would crack.
“I love you, too.”

this post is Marina’s List Of Favorite and/or Iconic Music Videos

it’s gonna be a long one so i’ll pop it under a cut
alright we goin by artist then chronological

ARCHITECTS
follow the water - or as sam carter says, follow the wah-uh. first of all i love that this is in a church. second of all when will i get to go to an architects show this lit here in the states
heartburn - bc they all look pretty. ok. aesthetically on point as well.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD
beast and the harlot - i don’t always bop this song but when i do, the whole cul de sac does too. no but really this was so influential to middle school me i wanted nothing more than a boyfriend who looked like zacky or jimmy and whatever eyeshadows zacky was wearing in this clip
BLINK 182
i miss you - the video that inspired this post. THE AESTHETIQUE. 20′s inspired romantigoth film noir. i don’t yell about this music video enough.
BRING ME THE HORIZON
chelsea smile - it’s literally just a house part video but the song literally defines the year 2009 for me. emetophobia warning at 1:08
it never ends - this video got mad shit but i love it. pretty heavy gore throughout this video
alligator blood - CREEPY ASS AESTHETIC SHIT!!!! i live for it. 16 y/o me had it so bad for matt nicholls and him getting tied up and violated was like, god tier for me
visions - more creepy aesthetic shit. the videos on there is a hell were underrated
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
hey john what’s your name again? - i gotta throw this one in just bc this hurls my ass right back to the year 2008. that bible imagery. those haircuts. it was a better time for music
html rules d00d - THIS SONG STILL SLAPS LMAO DON’T READ ME
ELISSA FRANCESCHI
salt - i’m not crying you’re crying!!! how did anne and christian franceschi manage to spawn two flawless and talented siblings!!!!!!
EVERY TIME I DIE
ebolarama - it’s a performance video in a roller rink what more could you want
wanderlust - you’ve probably caught on to the fact that i love creepy aesthetic shit.
decayin with the boys - THIS VIDEO HAS ME HOWLING. there are too many good moments to list here but the personal highlight is the dude admiring the lesbians making out, then he turns and admires they gays making out at about the 1:30 mark. also the jenga dream sequence. there’s a dick in this video, just a heads up. and a whole bootyass. i love andy williams. mild emetophobia tw at 2:30
FOXY SHAZAM
a dangerous man - eric nally’s screeching was the soundtrack of 2008
i like it - the chorus of this song is literally just “that’s the biggest black ass i’ve ever seen and i like it” and i have nothing more to say
holy touch - it’s a performance video but it’s. different. i really don’t wanna ruin this by saying too much about it. that’s just kinda how foxy shazam were. this song is a fucking banger. yes, they did have a trumpet player in the official lineup.
FRNKIERO ANDTHE CELLABRATION
joyriding - another performance video that’s. different. lmao. aesthetically perfect

WHEN THE LITTLE GIRL GIVES JOEL THE ROSE AND IT TURNS BLACK i deadass thought that was so fucking dope y’all
i just wanna live - ignoring the irony of joel whining about being famous, this video had THE MEMES.
GREEN DAY
longview - iconic simply by virtue of being their first video.
when i come around - ask me about my favorite songs of All Time and i’ll probably mention this one. it’s still great nowadays. i love all the shots of berkeley.
brain stew/jaded - this is such a great piece of art lmao the fucking. sludgy feeling of brain stew going into the chaos of jaded is great on the record, but even better in video form going from being stoned in sepia to tripping acid in an oversaturated cluttered space
walking contradiction - comedy gold
hitchin a ride - creepy weirdness and an iconic bassline. also mike dirnt looks fine as hell in this video
minority - i’m running out of ways to explain that a video is iconic to me purely bc of how important the song was to me at a given time lmao.
american idiot - is there anything i can truly say about this video? it was perfect in 2004, it’s perfect in 2017. uncomfortably relevant. epilepsy warning for strobe lighting effects in the second half
holiday - technically this was released before blvd, but since it chronologically precedes blvd in the story, i’m putting it first. this is like 90% here for the bridge section y’all. fucking iconic. i wore a fedora on the first day of sixth grade bc tre cool wore one in this video. not my proudest fashion moment. emetophobia warning at 1:56 but them playing EVERY character in the bar scene is perfection
boulevard of broken dreams - ah yes, 2005′s most overplayed song. i could not escape this song. every time the intro started everyone would just look at me bc i was The Green Day Chick. this video is aesthetically perfect though. shout out to mike dirnt’s jawline in profile
HOZIER
work song - first of all, this song makes me cry. second of all, the video is dreamy as fuck. it gives me irl chills. i love the choreography so much. the whole vibe is very modern southern gothic. and it’s incredibly intimate feeling without being... sexual or vulgar, i guess.
IN THIS MOMENT
adrenalize - first of all i’m gay. second of all i’m gay. this video is decidedly nsfw
whore - aesthetically pleasing. chris motionless being subby is the real highlight here
sick like me - again, it’s here for the aesthetic.
big bad wolf - also aesthetic but THIS MAKEUP LOOK. maria’s makeup look in this video is actually literally my aesthetic goal. epilepsy warning for strobe light effects
sex metal barbie - say it with me: aesthetic. i also love this one bc the lyrics are largely lifted from people talking shit about maria on the internet, shaming her for being a woman with sexuality and agency, so fuck yes i support it. mild body horror warning for this one
JOHN 5
making monsters - john’s videos are mostly performance based but this one is so cute lmao. where do i cop a j5 action figure
LADY GAGA
paparazzi - i’m only including the RLY vital gaga videos here and the full version of paparazzi is her best work imo......

LINKIN PARK
one step closer - i think this was the first linkin park video i saw Back In The Day......... it was 2 heavy 4 baby me at the time lmao but nowadays it’s one of my fave lp songs. the video is super corny let’s be real but it was 2000
numb - this song is so fucking emo but i love it. the video is like peak emo too. i swear the main girl in this video was like my fashion icon at the time. layered tank tops, ripped loose jeans, oversized hoodies and jackets. i wanted her hair so bad lmao

long hard road out of hell - femme manson and religious imagery need i elaborate
the dope show - the first manson video i ever saw. i was... so creeped out lmao. LOOKS ON LOOKS ON LOOKS. john 5 lookin like a snack in this one
i don’t like the drugs (but the drugs like me) - this is probably the most heavy-handed manson has ever been with the christ allegory lmao and yet......... i love it. also shout out to manson and rose’s dogs bug and uncle fester for guest starring. body horror tw here
coma white - basically a flawless music video i have nothing to say here that isn’t already said by the video itself

say10 (short) - i really fucking wish he’d compounded off this for the official say10 video, beheaded orange man or not. just the verse. it’s so good. moody and creepy and AHHH.
we know where you fucking live - heed the warning at the beginning lmao. i honestly loved this video. i know some people thought it was edgy but i rly rly don’t see that. it’s offensive and obscene yeah but it doesn’t have that edgelord feel, as much as i love to call him an edgelord.
MOTIONLESS IN WHITE
reincarnate - old school horror vibes!!! as a Humble Fetishist of Boots and Gloves, this is a great video. also this is one of those songs where i Feel the lyrics for real

the ghost of you - time to cry!!!!! emetophobia warning at 0:47
welcome to the black parade - it’s hard for me to talk about these videos bc they’re so universally iconic that to explain why i love them so much would be mostly redundant.
famous last words - see above. this song means the world to me
desolation row - if i had to pick a video other than helena to look like an extra in i’d pick this one. has gerard ever looked this good, before or after this video?? peak.
NINE INCH NAILS
down in it - these are getting linked to vimeo since the official nin account has them all uploaded there in better quality. anyway i love so many of the shots in this video and i love the colors and i love bab trent
head like a hole - SO dated y’all but bab trent leveled up and became baby dread trent.
happiness in slavery - this is seriously graphic. but it’s great. also where’s the extended version that shows trent getting eaten by the weird carnivorous robot
gave up - bABY BRIAN!! infants, y’all. INFANTS.
march of the pigs - it’s a one-take performance video but it’s...... so much more than that. this video hurts me in my hand/glove kink.
closer - this is in the top 3 with helena honestly. it is... a piece of art film before all else. a Must Watch.
burn - another case of a video being important to me because of the song it’s for tbh.
the perfect drug - marc romanek is a GOD. also a piece of art film honestly. just y’all wait till i make my dnd character based on trent in this video lmao
starfuckers, inc - hm, another nin video that trent invited manson to be in. interesting. all memes aside it’s a great video even as much as i hate the use of the “fat = ugly” trope. epilepsy warning for flashing effects in the last part of the video
deep - why. are. y’all. SLEEPING ON THIS!!!!
only - this may have been the first nin video i willingly saw and recognized as nin. this video still holds up, especially with it being 95% cgi and still looking as good as it does.
ROB ZOMBIE
living dead girl - the theme song of my life??? iconic couple costume idea????
meet the creeper - i have to include this video because it’s BAD. it’s terrible and i fucking love it
american witch (live version) - WHEN ROB PICKS UP JOHN AND STARTS SPINNING HIM AROUND!!!! this is here specifically for all the long hair john content
dead city radio and the new gods of supertown - the aesthetic. everybody looks great. matt is in a gorilla suit
well everybody’s fucking in a ufo - highly nsfw. where do i begin with this fucking hot mess...... sheri’s huge fake boobs. john and matt and ginger as astronauts. john jerkin off. the aliens with dicks. the fact that the whole story is about getting gang banged by aliens???? nothing will ever reach this level
SKOLD
self titled promotional clip - epilepsy warning for a lot of flashing and smash cuts. sort of a few partial music videos in one, but there are only two official skold videos, so i gotta include both of them. the quality is garbage. it’s so incredibly 1996. yet i love it. the last song, anything, is pretty nsfw as in there’s actual femdom porn clips but this is why i love it.
better the devil - if there were more skold videos i’d put them here. but as i said there are only two. tim out there lookin like not just a snack but a full course meal in 4k quality. goddamn. the only man i can ever truly call d*ddy. tiffany and eli lookin like delicious side dishes as well.
TAKING BACK SUNDAY
you’re so last summer - flava flave is in it
this photograph is proof - this song makes me so fucking nostalgic............. it transports me right back to eighth grade lmao. tbs were one of my fave bands in middle school.
makedamnsure - the most emo song of all time?? side note regarding tbs: real talk, being fat in middle school, seeing another fat person in a band was so fucking reassuring and great. i love eddie.
liar (it takes one to know one) - these visual effects are SO cool, even now.
YOU ME AT SIX
jealous minds think alike - ART... no but actually look at these literal fetuses. i fucking love this song. it’s probably my fave track on take off your colours.
kiss and tell - you right it’s another house party video BUT. baby josh with an undercut. he must be 18 or barely 19 here??
liquid confidence - WHEN YOU GOT NOTHING TO LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE
stay with me - jkfljkghdfskljgs okay serious time: this song got me through a seriously rough part of my life and i have the title tattooed on me partially because of the video.
loverboy - i have never seen a fandom in such utter chaos as the ymas fandom was on the day this video dropped. holy fucking shit. the THIRST was REAL.
bite my tongue - peak ymas captured in one music video. that’s truly the most important part. that peak sns era ymas was preserved forever in this video.
lived a lie - is it bad if i still kinda want a “we are believers” tattoo lmao. i really....... love this song a lot. is it obvious by now that ymas love a big chorus lmao
give - this song gives me The Feels. it deserved better than a performance video in an empty arena but it’s all we got, so here it is.

Ask A Man About A Dog
“It used to be a military base! Well...it used to be a ranching thing, then it turned into a military thing, then it became a bird thing and museum and- whatever! Henry Fonda found a station here for a bit. Unless that’s wrong...”
“Who’s Henry Fonda?”
“And around Christmas time, this little breakfast place used to sell these AMAZING polar bear sugar cookies! MAN, those were good! But then they had to go and change the recipe and ruin it.... Joan, hey? Still with us?”
Joan blinked and looked up from the wine-dark waves lapping at the side of the ferry. She turned, feeling the sensation of pins and needles spreading up her arm thanks to how long she had been leaning against the guard rail, and faced the two girls standing a few feet away from her.
The first was familiar- she was around her height, pale, and had her hair done up in magnificent spacebuns that just screamed that her personality was eccentric. She was grinning like a mischievous gremlin- or maybe a raccoon, to be more realistic, however “monkey” jumped out at Joan, too.
The second was less familiar- very tall, dark skin, and her hair done in a way that would make Joan’s head hurt if she attempted it with her own. At first glances, this girl gave off a bookish appearance, but she seems more extroverted than Joan had been expecting, probably because of the beanie she was wearing (it was most likely just there because of the cold). Still, the image of an owl still remained.
“Yeah, sorry,” She finally said, learning how to speak and enunciate again. She pulled her grey coat closer around her. “My mind drifted for a second.”
Anne scanned her for a moment. Despite being outlandish and wild, she still worried over her friends when she thought something was wrong. That’s one of the many things Joan liked about her.
After the frisk with her eyes, she nodded, then wheeled around on her heels so she would be facing the other two.
“So, you’re all moved in?” She asked.
“Uh— not- not really.” The second girl answered. “I just got in this morning.”
“And how did her mum meet your mum again?” Anne continued with the questioning.
The girl laughed slightly. “They met on vacation in Scotland. She got lost in a— actually, I’m not even gonna tell this story.”
“Uhh, yes, please don’t,” Joan jumped back in. “We don’t need to relive their meet-cute anymore than we have to.”
The waves of the ocean jars the boat slightly. Joan doesn’t miss the way the dark-skinned girl clenches one hand on the guard rail. Anne, however, doesn’t even stumble as she makes her way to the deck to look out on the nearby island.
“And you guys just met tonight?” She asked.
“Yeah,” The girl swiveled around to keep Anne in her sights. “I was, umm... Out of school and the time just had never worked out, so...”
“And what does that make you, then?”
Joan and the girl exchange looks, blinking. They both turn back to Anne, whose eyebrows are raised in interest. That gremlin side of her was coming out strong.
“A, uh...” The girl uses her free hand to scratch her head. “A second cousin?”
“She’s my step-sister.” Joan said cooly. Out of the corner of her eye she sees the girl smile at her slightly.
“Oh yeah,” Anne laughed. “I forgot that was even a thing!”
Once again Joan and the girl give each other glances. Joan notes how she seems more relaxed after her step-sister statement, which makes her oddly happy.
“Well, you seem cool!” Anne began again, “Cool girl, cool hat...you get a cool new sibling living right in your house!” She smirks, “Sharing your toothbrush...wearing your clothes...”
“No, that’s-” Joan’s voice falters. She hears the girl snort into her hand. “That’s the weird part. Don’t make it weird, Anne! Getting a new sister isn’t like- like getting a puppy or something.”
“No, yeah, it’s been totally bizarre.” The girl said. “But, for the record,” She looks at Joan, “I don’t consider you to be a pet.”
Those words are left awkwardly hanging in the air before the waves seem to wash them away with another bob to the boat. The girl clenches her hand on the railing again, and uses the other to straighten her beanie, which the wind had been trying to rip right off of her head.
“So...” She started. “How did you two meet?”
“Oh, from way back when! Like, Paleozoic! Grade school era!” Anne said enthusiastically. “Young enough that I’ve seen her naked in a bathtub and it wasn’t sexual at all. I mean, we both looked like little skinned potato blobs-”
“Ahhh, Anne!!” Joan squealed. She could feel her ears flaming red. The girl at her side gave a laugh. “Why are you even talking about that?!”
“It’s humorous!” Anne giggled. Before she could go on and possibly embarrass Joan again, a voice on the ferry’s loudspeaker speaks up.
“PASSENGERS, WE WILL BE ARRIVING SOON. CHECK UNDER YOUR SEAT TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVEN’T LEFT ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS.”
And, as it did so, Anne repeated the speech in a bored, stoic voice.
“How do you-?” Joan tilted her head.
“It’s a recording. They always play it.” Anne tells her before she could even finish. “Oh!” A new idea has already popped into her head. “We should get a picture! All of us!”
“Sure, why not.” Joan shrugged. “Come on, Cath.”
The girl nodded and finally pried her hand loose from the guard rail. They both walked over to Anne, who held up her phone and snapped a photo of all of them.
“There, great!” Anne beamed. “Also...it’s Catherine, right?”
“Yeah,” The girl nodded. “But just call me Cathy.”
“Cool! Oh, hey, Joan! You brought the radio, right?”
“Of course,” Joan said, then pulled a small, portable radio out of her pocket. “What’s it for, exactly?” She craned her head around to look at Cathy, “She sent me around twenty messages in all caps to bring this thing.”
Cathy laughed.
“You’ll see,” Anne said. “Trust me, it’ll be cool!”
A horn blares as the mist rolling over the ocean in its own waves of white parted so they could see an island coming up. The ferry begins to slow before coming to a halt at the docks. Anne eagerly bounced off, followed by Joan and Cathy.
“Smell the clean air, boys and girls! Err- Girls! This ain’t city livin’.” Anne said, “So, the others should be up and around the bend and...”
“Actually-” Cathy started abruptly. “I don’t mean to break us up already but- Anne, can I have a moment with Joan?”
“Uhh-” Anne blinked. “Really? I-”
“Is something wrong?” Joan looked up at Cathy- it was only then that she realized how tall the older girl really was. “What is it?”
“Nothing’s wrong, nothing’s wrong,” Cathy said, sensing her worry. “It’ll take, like, two minutes. Super fast.”
“I really don’t want to go up by myself-”
“No, I need to hear this, Anne. We’ll meet you up ahead, okay?” Joan said.
Anne’s mouth hung half open for a moment before she blinked and scratched her head.
“Umm- Alright. This is a weird way to start out...splitting up...” She said as she began walking away. Soon, she was out of sight, shrouded by the dark fog, and only the sound of the waves lapping the rocky shore was left behind.
But only for a moment.
“Listen,” Cathy started. She looked sheepish. “I just wanted to catch you ahead of time and say you’ve been...cool...about everything. And I guess just for me I’ve- you know, I’ve never moved around anywhere, and getting a new family during it all feels like I’m skipping the training wheels.” She pauses, then hurried to continue, thinking that that was a bad place to stop. “Not that it’s bad it anything! You and your mum have been great.”
“Eh, we’ll make do.” Joan said, shrugging her shoulders to try and mask her own anxiety with the whole thing. “Lemons, lemonade- however that goes.”
“An optimist.” Cathy said bitterly. “Oh, Christ.” She laughed. Joan laughs, too.
It feels nice to laugh with a sister.
“Oh, and thanks for setting up the attic for me. It’s cool how it’s like a little bedroom!”
(It feels nice to laugh with a sister again)
“That was, uhh-”
A pang of pain stabs right into Joan’s heart, wrenching it until it was mush in her chest. She glances wryly at the dark ocean water nearby and then can’t pry her eyes away. If she squints, she swore she could see a flailing figure...
“Joan?”
Cathy’s voice cut through the roaring waves in her ears.
“That was Maria’s room.” Joan whispered.
Breathe. She told herself, Like mum taught you. In five, hold three, out five... Breathe.
“There, uh-” She found her voice again. “There wasn’t that much to set up.”
Cathy’s hands, which had been on Joan’s shoulders to steady her, pulled back. They clench as she seemed to internally cringe for what she had accidentally made her new step-sister say.
“Oh. Oh, man. I’m so sorry.” She said. “I didn’t mean to bring it up.”
“It’s okay,” Joan said quickly, “You didn’t know.”
An awkward silence came between them. Instead of looking at the other, they both were scanning the island.
The only thing on the “bottom level” of the island was the docks, some cars, a bookstore, and a large tunnel that was closed off. Once the sisters decided to head back to Anne, they walked up some stone steps planted into the earth and onto the “second level”, where a stone statue of a wave and bird, an antique store, and a café stood. They passed these buildings and met up with Anne after a short hike up a small hill.
“Hello, kids!” Anne chirped, seemingly over her temporary exile. “Listen, the others should be close, so let’s hurry it up. And, as we hightail it, I’ll give you a speed-read of Edward’s Island!” She pauses, then leaned in, whispering, “That’s where we’re at.”
“I know.”
“We got that.”
“Good! Good!” Anne trotted the rest of the way up the hill. “This is a tourist trap with shops and a beach! Nobody lives here except for some geriatric named Mrs. Lee. But, with God as my witness, I will never mention her or any other old person tonight ever again! We are here to drink and be stupid.”
It seemed that their first “stupid act” was using a dumpster to jump a fence because Anne went on to tell them they were not allowed there after dark.
The three of them made their way down a mountainside path, chatting idly and getting to know each other better on Cathy’s part, before a slick, honey-laced voice chimed through the air.
“Reginald! I hear you over there!”
“H-hey, guys!” Anne smiles sheepishly, hopping down from a ledge to get down.
Two more girls now stood before them. One was significantly older than all of them. She had dark skin and curly brown hair that framed her unblemished face perfectly. The other girl was younger than Joan, with brown hair dyed pink at the tips and eyes like a kitten.
“Hey,” Joan waved slightly.
“We started a fire down at the beach.” Said the older girl. “But Kitty here wanted to play beach nanny.”
“I just wanted to make sure they got here before it was completely dark.” The younger girl said.
The older chuckled then looked over at the stranger in the group of three. “Who are you?”
“I’m Cathy.”
“That’s Cathy.” Anne said helpfully. “She’s Joan’s new, fresh-as-a-daisy step-sister! Cathy, that’s Katherine and Catherine. Confusing, right? Three girls with the same name! Except this little one goes by Kitty- she’s my cousin, actually- and the tall one goes by Catalina. Because she’s Spanish...or something.”
“Wait wait wait- Step-sister?” Catalina said. Joan just barely managed to bite back a groan of annoyance at her upcoming attitude. “How does that even work?”
“Her mum married my mum, so...law.” Joan said.
“Well, this is happening, now. This is a thing that is happening.” Catalina said, exasperated. She began walking down the path that led to the beach. “Where’s everybody else?”
“Maud had that thing and then Jane Parker-”
“We’re it.” Joan said for Anne.
“What.” Catalina momentarily swiveled her head around to analyze the whole group. Then, she gave a biting laugh. “Oh my god! It’s just Anne, Joan, and the new step-sister!”
“Yeah, we took the last ferry.” Anne said.
“Aren’t you guys friends?”
Everyone looked at Cathy. Then they exchanged scattered glances.
Catalina began leading again, marching her way down to the beach.
“I’m friends with Kitty,” She said. The younger girl gave a gleeful smile at that. “And I’m downgrading Anne to a creepy neighbor.”
“I’ll take it!” Anne said.
“And I just met you.”
“Hey!” Joan barked, “What about me?”
“What about you?”
Joan clenched her jaw, then sighed. She feels Cathy gently nudge her in a friendly way and give her a warm smile as if to say, “I’m your friend.”
Joan smiles back.
The five teenagers get down to the beach, where there was, in fact, a bonfire set up, along with some towels and a cooler. Joan hopes nobody saw the way she nervously glanced at the water.
“So... what’s the thing to do here?” Cathy asked, scanning the area.
“Whatever,” Kitty shrugged. She plops herself down by the fire and smiled at Catalina when she joined her.
“Hey, where does that old woman live?” Cathy asked another question.
“You mean Maggie Lee? She’s dead.” Catalina answered.
“What?” Anne snapped her head over to her.
“Yup. Keeled over three days ago. It was all over the news.” Catalina said. “And to answer your previous question, Cathy, the ‘thing to do’ is lay on the beach and drink until you can’t remember where your are.”
“And,” Kitty piped up, steering the topic away from very illegal underage drinking. “Sometimes play Truth or Slap!”
“Yeah!” Anne perked up. “Let’s play that! We can inaugurate Cathy. Ease her into the festivities.”
“Truth or Slap?” Joan asked stupidly, which prompts Anne to began to explain how it was like Truth or Dare except you just ask questions and get slapped if you’re lying about your answer.
“It’s a good getting to know each other game!” Anne concluded. “I’ll go first!” She turns to Joan with a smirk, “Joan!”
“Uh oh,” Cathy laughed.
“Lay it on me.” Joan smirked back.
“Okay. Kiss, Screw, Kill: Me, Kitty, and Catalina!”
“What?!” Kitty yelped.
“No!” Catalina barked.
“Calm down! Besides, I can’t include Cathy! They’re siblings!”
“Okay, okay... I’d probably marry you, Anne. I’ve known you the longest. Not a lot of surprises!” Joan said.
“Ha! Stay-at-home-wife!”
“Then I’d screw Catalina. Obviously.”
Anne laughed loudly. “‘Obviously’! Not gonna call her out on that?”
“No, I believe her.” Catalina said. “Look at me.”
“And that means you would smother poor little Kitty with a pillow,” Anne said, clutching her heart with one hand and wiping away an imaginary tear with the other.
“Oh shit- Sorry, Kit! It just worked out that way, I swear!” Joan said.
“It’s fine,” Kitty shrugged before snuggling up closer to Catalina’s side.
“So, Joan’s turn now?” Cathy asked.
“Right,” Anne nodded.
“Okay...Uhh...Kitty! Have you ever...peed in a swimming pool?”
Both Anne and Cathy erupt into laughter. Catalina snorts and shook her head, clearly not surprised. Kitty wrinkled her nose.
“Ugh, no!”
“Nice question,” Catalina snickered. “I wanna go now. Joan. You got a new sister. Pretty exciting. I’m sure Cathy is pretty excited, too. Or maybe ‘excited’ isn’t the word. Maybe a little unsure...overwhelmed...”
“No, I’m- I’m fine. I’m fine.” Cathy said.
“Yeah, see, she’s-” Joan shook her head. “What’s the question?”
Catalina took a sip of the beer she’s holding, then looked Joan directly into the eye and asked, “Why’d your mum finally decide to get married?”
Joan’s heart twisted.
“Just so Cathy can hear it from you.”
Kitty and Anne immediately began giving each other anxious looks. Cathy appears to be a little shocked until she calms her expression.
“Catalina, I don’t care why her mum-”
“You know why.” Joan said. Her eyes are dark, just like the nearby water. Just like the water on that- “Maria- died and it broke everything and she just needed someone there to try and pick up the pieces. The end.”
(Water roars in her ears- water rushes down her throat- water chokes her and holds her and consumes her until- until- until-)
(She’s screaming so loud SO LOUD WHY WON’T ANYONE HELP WHY IS SHE SLIPPING AWAY SOMEBODY HELP-)
“Well, now you know, Cathy. Don’t die and everything will be fine.” Catalina said.
Once again, there was a tense silence. Anne breaks it by saying she wanted to go check out the nearby caves, which Cathy and Joan agree to.
One quick hop over a fence (and a weed brownie eaten by Anne) later, the three of them find themselves inside of a large cave with three small rock piles set up.
“So, what you gotta do is stand right here and tune your radio until you find a ‘signal’.” Anne explained. “That’s why we brought it.”
Joan nodded and took the radio out. She began to rotate the little dial around, mainly getting plain static for a few minutes before a strange sound cut through the white noise.
Well, there was that and an ominous blue flickering from a crevice in the cave wall.
“Holy crap!” Cathy yelped.
“It worked!” Anne cried. “That was so cool! Do it again!”
Joan nodded and walked over to the next pile, tuning in her radio. Once again, the thing sputters loudly and the nearby light flashes.
“This is so cool!” Cathy exclaimed.
“I know!” Joan beamed excitedly at her.
“Do the last one, Jo!”
“I will! I will!”
And she does.
And, like the last two times, the sound returns, but this time more garbled and grating.
“Agh-” Cathy winced. She sees Joan press a hand to her ear. “It sounds so...”
“It sounds, agh-” Joan’s temples pulsate. She pulls her hand back, surprised to see no blood because she swore her eardrums ruptured. “It sounds, like...painful.”
A sound returns- however, this one was different, like a staticky moaning noise. Almost...human.
“There’s something in there.” Cathy said, walking over to the crack in the cave wall.
“Yeah, I see it, too.” Joan agreed.
“I’m gonna go check it out.” Cathy suddenly said. A moment later, she’s gone.
“Wh- That’s such a bad idea!” Anne cried.
“Cathy! Wait up!”
“WAIT UP?!” Anne looked at Joan like she was insane.
“I’ll be fine,” Joan assured her friend. “Wait here.”
With that, she slips in through the crack.
Immediately, the feeling of claustrophobia embraces her as the passageway was a lot longer than she had been expecting. She shuffles awkwardly through the tight space, feeling the cold, biting stone chafe into either sides of her. She could barely even breathe completely because the rock pressed against her chest, almost like it was trying to suffocate and trap her.
Right as she was about to panic, or maybe turn back, Joan pops out and into a large tunnel. It’s lit up by bioluminescent moss, but it’s far too bright, even with the glowing plants...
“Cathy?” She called out as she began to walk down the passageway. “Cathy, where are you?!”
No answer.
Not even an echo.
Chills ran up and down Joan’s spine. The feeling of eyes bearing down on her followed her through every twist and turn she took in that cave, but whenever she turned around, there was nobody there.
“Cathy?” Joan said again, this time more frantic. “Cathy, are you okay? Can you, like, scream or something?”
Nothing.
“Cathy?”
A shadow stretches across the jagged, rocky ground.
“Cathy!”
“AH!!”
Cathy leapt backwards as Joan just about charged her like an angry (but fuzzy) little lamb. She put a hand on her chest, reintroducing her lungs to oxygen as Joan tears strips off of her.
“What were you thinking?!” Joan barked. “I was so worried! I thought you, like- like died or something! Do you know what that would have done to me? How would I explain that to mum? Your mum- my mum- both!!”
“Okay, okay, I get it! You’re mad!” Cathy held her hands up in surrender. “I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry. I just- I thought I heard something down here. A voice.”
Like that, Joan’s rage vanishes. Cathy wished she had led in with the whole voice thing.
“A voice?” Joan tilted her head like a confused puppy (or a lamb).
“Yeah.” Cathy turned and began walking further into the cave. “It was so...weird...”
Cathy’s voice trailed and died off as she and her sister ducked under an overhand and passed into a large cavern filled with huge crystals. An underground lake day in the middle, glistening in an unknown light source. The only ruddy-looking thing in that beautiful space was a rusty locker on the opposite of the shore.
“Oh my god,” Joan whispered.
“Holy- Joan,” Cathy grabbed and shook Joan’s elbow frantically. “Do you see that?!”
Joan blinked and looked up. It didn’t take long for her to realize what ‘that’ was.
A floating triangle.
A fucking floating, spinning triangle in the middle of the air.
“It- it must be some kind of...reflection...a rainbow...” Cathy was at a loss for words. “Those-those are things, right? Cave...triangle rainbows.”
“Sure,” Joan said slowly. “Let’s go with that.”
“I think this may be caused by when you ‘tuned in’ back at the beach.” Cathy said. “Maybe try it again?”
Joan glanced up at her, then nodded and took out her radio. She began to twist the dial until the triangle in the air shuddered and started to pulsate. A small, iridescent line stretched out from one of the tips.
“Oh- my god.” Cathy whispered. “Is this— are you— is this— YOU? Are you doing this?”
“Uhh- I-I think?” Joan stammered before tuning in again.
The line grew longer until it formed a second triangle. Joan felt a beating against her brain, almost like a second pulse that wasn’t hers and, by the way Cathy winced at her side, her sister felt it, too.
“I can’t even, like— what is— what?!”
“I-I know! I know!” Joan cried. She tuned in one last time and-
-and the triangle was complete.
Within the glowing shape, all there was was murky green. It was shuddering in the air, pulsating visible red vibrations.
“What the...”
“...hell...” Cathy finished for her sister.

It sounded as if snippets from radio programs were ripped out of their channels and used to form the words. There were tons of people talking at once, tons of voices. And, when it- they- speak, the pounding in Joan’s brain beat in time with each word.
“H-hello?” Joan said. She glances anxiously at Cathy, who is stunned into silence.

Joan swallowed thickly. She could taste blood on her tongue. Her brain is being turned to mush inside of her head.
“Umm...” She looks at Cathy unsurely. Her sister is pale and visibly in pain. There’s a thin line of blood trickling out of her right ear. “M-maybe?”

The ground began to shake. The triangle shudders harder. Cracks shoot through all the crystals and they crack and break into razor sharp shards. The pulse in Joan’s head turned into roaring, painful white noise.
“JOAN!!” Cathy shrieks.

Joan is underwater.
And down with her is debris.
Debris falling at an agonizingly slow rate.
She screams.
Bubbles explode from her lips.
A chunk of metal falls down, down, down.
The spray of bubbles turn red.
As Joan is cut in two by the debris.
She just barely feels it slice into her belly when-
