I'm trying to avoid getting spoiled so I haven't looked up what's happening in the Jp server's main story, but for my own sanity I need to ask; is the story at a point where we know whether Lilia will get better/survive his almost-empty magic reserves..? Was it a true death flag from the start or only a plot device for malleus' overblot....?

not yet! I do think they're going to get back to it eventually, but -- keeping it as low spoilers as possible -- there's been...let's just say a LOT going on in the meantime.

i love duos where they are obsessed with each other particularly if they don't actually realize the reason. yes this is about tobiizu

izuna who is always complaining about his stupid senju rival and trains for the sole purpose of remaining as strong as tobirama, thinking about him as a single point of fixation bordering obsession that causes him not to think about the war as a whole, but specifically about beating tobirama

tobirama literally inventing jutsu because his uchiha rival keeps infuriatingly catching up to him. hashirama is like "why don't you just fight somebody else. it's a battlefield not a duel" but he doesn't get it, doesn't understand that tobirama needs to be the one fighting izuna because he has to be the one to kill him, and he is the reason for his progress in inventions

of course, this becomes awkward during peacetime because now suddenly they don't have an outlet for their obsession that is absolutely still there. so what do they do about this?

increasingly irritating arguments or even pranks that stop just shy of being considered attacking each other, because they care about their respective brothers enough to keep the peace (and maybe they're growing a bit fond of the village, too). but they keep each other as a singular fixation to the point that the rest of the village definitely knows something is going on but just thinks they're being Weird and tobiizu never catch on
