𐙚 first fic: kicked off the year strong with a drabble on hyune’s burgundy hair on jan 5th!!!!!!!! need to do the same for his buzzcut 🤭

𐙚 last fic: ended the year with a hyune one-shot, that is la déchirure- very proud of it :,)

𐙚 number of fics written: 21! including 11 drabbles and nine one-shots and one (incomplete) series. i’m very proud of myself actually :,) i didn’t write as much as my first tumblr year but i’m pleased with the quality of the longer fics i put out ☺️

𐙚 longest fic: la déchirure with 21.8k words. my little beast.. i’m slowly getting more comfortable putting out longer fics:,)

𐙚 favorite fic: my top 3 are: la déchirure, this work allowed me to explore themes of grief and how it comes in different shades and impacts our hearts differently. i loved my writing in it, i loved how easy it was for me to think of metaphors (which is my favorite thing about writing hehe) and i loved that many ex-ballerinas found my fic :,) then, the prophecy, this fic has so much of me in it and i need to finish it in 2025. i care for the characters as if they are real people, perhaps because i know what i’ll put them through 😭 but angel!yongbok is so dear to me. i love the storyline and i love the plot twists i have in mind too hehe. finally, starry night. i loved how this fic allowed me to explore vincent vang gogh’s beautiful paintings. i shared my interpretations of art through hyune and it was very very very fun to research and write that fic (thanks again to the person who commissioned me 🥹)

𐙚 most popular fic: pieces of you!!! (and it’s actually my most popular fic ever HELLO!!!) i actually didn’t expect that fic to get *this* much love but i must have underestimated the popularity of dad!chan 😭 i definitely have a soft spot for that channie, mc and sowon. i had a lot of fun brainstorming the fic with my dear xian so i’m so happy you guys enjoyed it as well :,))) MORE CHANNIE FICS TO COME!!!!

𐙚 most challenging fic: i’d say it’s an eye for an eye. it was my first time writing a fic that was more action/intrigue based and that span only over one day. but it got a lot of lovely feedback so that makes me super happy :,)

I need to rant about Ivan guys guys I neeed to rant about Ivan (<--- keeps trying to write fics of him but Never finishes him) like God this man is so gay and so in love it genuinely hurts it Hurts and I am Injured by it and the imagrey is Sooo Good (and Yes this is probably me just parroting stuff Everyone has already said before but shut up it's my turn now!! (aka please I've been holding in these thoughts for Months now I must let them out of their cage before one of them Dies)) [Edit I am Not fucking proofreading this I spent 2 hours on it if there is a mistake you Imagined it </3]

Just like,

You can see it in the way he sees the stars in Till. His own hopes for freedom and the only real light in this world that he lost sight of in Till. He is the hope and wish for freedom that he has shut away and repressed and it makes him fall So Hard

Or how you only really see that red in his eyes (after. Almost Dying) when he's with or singing/thinking about how Till has Inspired him, like a fire has been lit inside him. A fire lit in the darkness. . hmm...

even at the end of the song, where he knows full well that he absolutely Crushed his opponent and also knows full well that Till is his next one. I'm sick. I'm so sick.

Or like. When he frees Till and everything is just Engulfed in that red now. How Till has that same fire in his eyes, he and Ivan are on the same page now. They see that same hope for freedom and they both share it. They're running towards the light (like the sky's lighter there, more on that in a sec), hell, the corners of the right side of the screen are literally tinted in LIGHT GREEN. Till's color. God dammit the whole scene is tinted in red and green. They are literally Complementary Colors. I'mmm soooooooo (God these scenes are soo pretty too I was genuinely Stunned when I first saw this)

DID YOU EVEN NOTICE I ONLY NOTICED NOW the Stars are fucking green. You can see it better in some of the Later Images but they are Literally Green because Ivan sees the stars in Till and uuuughsdfbshb

OR LIKE WHEN TILL TURNS BACK?? AND. And that red is no longer in his eyes and before The Realization hits Ivan his eyes are just Glowing with red. Because he was just Filled with that hope. Freedom was, potentially, Right There

Did you guys even notice in that like. 5 frames in the half-second animation of Till turning away he's totally engulfed in his shade of green. Like of Course. That's such a Till thing to do because of Course he's running back he never actually liked Ivan that way in the first place.

And also the lighting of the sky Flips. Because the light has always been with Till. And Ivan's left in the darkness. In the. Haha. Ha. Black Sorrow. Aha *sits down cries*

And Again with this mf's stupid eyes how they revert to just black because that hope's been stripped away again, how it's even reflected in his present self singing as he reminisces on it. Fucking. Ivan's Expression when Till runs away.T here's so fucking much like the irony. Like did he even see Till hesitate or did he just see him turn and run away.

Like the irony that the guy who's always breaking the rules and fighting and defying and clearly hating living in a world like this won't run away with him, who has always been passive and obeying the rules and just accepting captivity and has been repressing his desire for freedom is so Bitter and Awful but also he always Knew this would happen what the Hell was he thinking this was such a stupid idea like

this man gets No Breaks No Breaks Ever oh yeah btw they're facing off against each other in a literal Death Match. That they might've had a Chance of avoiding if they ran away. Ahah. Hh *sob*

Also this art brings me so much Joy as much as it hurts me on a visceral level like. Ivan Always has his eyes on Till but it goes from a fond smile. Like So Fond flat out lovestruck affectionate gaze because he loves this man and loves spending time with him to a grimace once they're on stage. How Till never really changes or really Has Changed, and that's why Ivan loves him as much as he is resentful towards him. How that's what brought them here, to the stage. How Ivan changed for Till and Because of Till but still Till is like a god damn immovable object with how he stubbornly sticks to his ways. There's such resentment but isn't he himself also stubborn for always sticking to Till anyways? Hell, he's singing all about him in Round 3 and loses control over his own emotions and expressions during it I'mmm Guhhh

Also the first image is titled Observation while the second one is titled Decision(? I think). Like mf What are you deciding. What happened Last Time you decided to do something I'm going to punt you into the next planet

Speaking of observing,

Just. How Ivan's Always Observing. I saw one person point out he's like a background character and it's like he sees himself as one too. He is a passive observer in his Own Life. How he watches all the other children in Anakt garden play. How his childhood leading him to Anakt Garden just kind of. Happens around him while he watches indifferently.

How he's always trailing behind Till. Or how he tends to just. Observe quietly and is portrayed as such.

Not to mention how he doesn't appear in the memories of Anyone else's rounds, not even Till's, even when he literally (temporarily) freed him from the city. He doesn't even appear At All in Luka's round even though we get a clear shot of Till getting his hopes and dreams shattered (though it Does parallel another shot of him from Round 2)

And then the One Times he tries to take action. Or start something. It gets rejected and he's resigned to just. Trailing behind again. Because of Course he'll always follow after Till. And of Course he's fucking bitter about it and bitter about himself because he Knew this would happen and Till is Always looking at someone else and that Never Changes but. He just thought for a moment that he could change something. Man.

Oh I forgot to talk about the competitions themselves huh? Wellll, (and I'll Attempt to keep it brief because I've been writing this post for Much too long but)

Till spends his first round singing completely devotedly to Mizi. Hell, his song wasn't even in the program, it's likely- no, almost definitely something he wrote entirely for her, and Ivan has no part in it, just watches bitterly as he passes out after his, er, stunt at the end

And continues to be passed out for almost the entirety of Ivan's song

Oh but he woke up for the emotional/musical climax at least, going over Ivan's most important memory of them together, that's cool at least right?! Surely Till felt something from that

Maybe they can talk something out, or at least acknowledge their relationship in Some way. Maybe Ivan could at least be seen by Till-

Aaand Till's Actual love interest Supposedly gets shot and now he probably thinks she's dead. His attention is turned to her once again, like it's always been from the start. He never really changes huh?

Gets hopes and dreams and future crushed by aliens (standard stuff). Sold off in an auction. Put in prestigious singing school and up to that point he hasn't really cared about Anything and has simply been going through the motions.

Meets boy that basically embodies the freedom and hope he used to have. Falls badly in love. Boy loves someone else. Tries to free him and give him the thing he'd surely want most. Rejected. Back to school you go loser.

Oh btw this school is to train you for a competition to the death. Btw you're facing off against that boy you love in the semi-finals of said death competition. And you might kill him or he'll kill you. Because you didn't run away when you had the chance.

Also he didn't sing or think about you at all during his round. In fact I'm pretty sure he wrote a whole ass song that wasn't even registered in the Alien Queue or whatever for someone else. Also he probably has hardly looked at you. Also he was unconscious for almost the entirety of your song. Except for the part where you lost control of your emotions.

Oh but that doesn't matter now because now he thinks the person He likes was just killed. So he's kiiinda gonna be distracted by that. And that might fuck up your round with him. Sorry man

This was Originally a rant about how much I love Black Sorrow's imagery and the portrayal of Ivan's love because this man clearly has Complex Emotions and then Kinda derailed into me just ranting about how many L's he's being handed before getting the executioner's blade. Uhhhhh oops. Congrats on sticking to the end though?

I just love Ivan very much. He is So Bitter and so Horribly In Love and looks up to and is inspired by Till So Much and I wish people explored him on a deeper level/more personally.

I wish I saw more deep looks at Ivan/Till, there's clearly Complicated Things going on there. Hell, we don't even know what Till's pov on the whole thing is aside from that One scene of him hesitating before running away from Ivan. As much as I love fluffy interpretations of them, I (did I mention that I'm an angst addict btw. Could You Tell) wish all their Complexities could be acknowledged. Like how Ivan Clearly puts Till on such a spotlight and it is Such a downfall for him through and through and he Kinda knows it but also What Else does he Have and he really looks up to him Sooo Much (just. Look at them in that official art of them in Anakt Garden !!!) and deep down just wants to run away from this horrible place and wants to run with Till, the Light of his life the fire in the darkness the fucking stars the universe his black sorrow just. Oh My God I need to end this post already I was supposed to be studying but spent those 2 hours Writing instead

But anyways yeah uuhhh long story short? This guy is a gay loser. He tries to look sooo cool and smooth but he is suuuch a gay lovestruck loser and his rose tinted glasses are so thick he can't see shit (I'm pretty sure I quoted that from something (but also no genuinely when I first got into alnst after just watching the first 3 rounds videos and saw Ivan in official art I was So Surprised like "Oh he's actually That kind of mf that tries to look Cool and Hot but is actually just Pathetic and Sad and Gay I thought he was Just Sad and Gay")) he's probably also touchstarved as hell idk and his love is doomed by the narrative (unless Hyuna saves his and Till's asses. okay so i had this au idea awhile ago about an animated remake of the show that i never really done anything with, but i had abunch of ideas for and now i kinda wanna work on it again

this talk about Welcome Home reminded me of this au i thought of about a modern day reboot of the show kinda like the reboot au that already exists btu that was for the early 2000s but thsi one would be for modern day so like late 2010's to the 2020s it would've been an animated reboot cause lets be real if welcome home exist that would've been what happened cause nobody wants to do stop motion or puppetry unless you're sesame street animated reboot that would've been more of a slice of life slapstick kind of show more focused on comedy and indiviual stories and adventures in every episode Wally would've been a freelance online artist who shares art online and sells them also idk why but i had the idea of Wally in this au being a really sleepy fella shitty sleep schedule fr also i think instead of the neighborhood being in some sorta rural town they'd probably be in a more urban setting or maybe a suburbs type place not in the middle of the city but in a neighborhood close by a downtown or smth idk why i havent done anything with this au but i gotten a couple of ideas for it was trying to figure out jobs for the other neighbors cause i had the idea of them alll having jobs in the au and going to work Wally does freelance stuff Barnaby i thoguht of him beign a comedian but im not too sure Howdy of course still owns a store but it's more like a gas station food mart type thing Julie i had the idea of her being a social media infuencer liek a youtuber or blogger Sally would probably still be an actress or maybe a singer maybe a musician Eddie would've been a delivery guy like a amazon delivery guy Poppy and Frank are the ones im not too sure i ws thinking of them both being teachers or atleast maybe one of them would be a teacher but im not sure Frank would've been a middle school teacher while Poppy was a elementary or kindergarten teacher but im not sure thinknig of making Poppy a baker or a cook smth like that im still not sure if i want Frank to be a teacher idk what i want for frank tbh i thought of him being a librarian but idk maybe a photographer

The thing about kpop and autotune that really makes me scream is that-do you all even LIKE music then?? Do you even wanna sing?? Be an instagram model if u think youre so shit, or at the very least practice. Maybe im being cruel or something but it annoys me when someone says 'im soooo bad i neeed autotune tee hee' like a joke because...i dont know its giving my art is so bad let me use AI to freshen it up real quick. ok so @neptunite-stars and i (along with @lostguard) have been going ballistic on this new shukasas medieval au-- "In the Making" (i NEEED to RETITLE THIIS) I'm currently working on the planning phase for writing this but, there’s much much more to come!

Lets start with the BASICS: -Magic System -Characters -Shukasa??? -Lore Magic System The magic system works like so; there are the five alchemist branches founded by the five alchemists-- the eccentrics. The Creation The Destruction The Transmutation The Potionology and The Balance. Creation is led by Shu Itsuki. It has three main theories and mostly revolves around the use of the "needle" to create such things. The main idea of this branch is to "create with your own hands" this usually means transfiguartion and familars and the like. Destruction is led by Rei Sakuma. We haven't exactly worked out the details of this yet, but it falls around the points of "necromancy". Breaking things down and bringing things back to life. This branch is smaller than the rest-- dangerous to invest into, even more to touch. Transmutation is led by Wataru Hibiki. The branch follows the art of metal making and metal weaving and the like. This branch is usually hand in hand with Destruction-- or even Creation as you breathe life—or take it away—into these metalin things you make. Potionology is led by Kanata Shinkai. This branch is moreso the "brains" of the five branches. This branch, though, requires the most knowledge of the world for ANY of this to work. You are to mix the nature of this world together, put it all under one fire, and let it melt into something new. Potions can be applied in diffrent ways, but the most important part is that everything is PRECISE and well taken care of. The final branch, Balance, is led by Natsume Sakasaki. The Balance focuses on the first four branches, and mends them together. Since Natsume is not only good at one branch, but ALL, he decided to combine them all and make this branch fit him. This branch is the most complex of all- it combines Life, Death, Science and Math, and Creation all in one. Together, these are the 5 main branches of Alchemy in the world of Ordin There's also a few other compotents to this magic system but they'll be explored later (AKA. WHEN WE FIGURE OUT WHAT WE'RE DOING WITH THEM HESOIDK)

Another day in LPs afterlife: A Crazy Spookventure Quest part 1

Nova is now a 16 yr old teen who is a passionate technician of elements of culinary arts. She was just quite almost done with her school project who can have the best tech of future generations of food industry.

Nova: Siiigghh now I’m out of the bananas for my lunch collection, time to go to the store again! But first I neeed to find my trusty relative and I know who.

Suddenly she calls her aunt Gail

Gail: Hi sweetie! How’s my niece doing today??

Nova: Yeah it’s great, look I’m kinda in a-

Gail: Honey, I already told you we don’t have access to the information of the ancestors-

Nova: Umm not even into that remember?..

Gail: Oh sorry, it’s been kinda stressful to ya know.

Nova: I was wondering if you can help me build any tech that can detect any fruits and vegetables? I’m trying to win a school project fair. And it’s kinda hard to keep them fresh till it starts but no luck that I find that last so long it ripes too fast.

A moka type of guy.

Needs to have something sweet after dinner or else he feels like the day isn't over

Loves Sanrio characters. Hello Kitty, My Melody and Cinnamonroll are his favorites

Cracks his knuckles and neck constantly. Sounds super loud and concerning ("dude you ok?" Is usually what he hears after)

Gives the tightest most secure hugs

Finds ASMR relaxing but dislikes slime videos

Drinks A LOT of water and is reminding his brothers (mostly Donnie and Mikey) to stay hydrated

LEO

Likes chewy candy and lollipops. Go-to candy is Starbursts

Iced caramel macchiato guy. Will try seasonal drinks as long as they're iced. Only has hot drinks at night, it's like his little ritual

Takes forever to get ready for the night. Has a 10 step skincare routine that he is very diligent about

Has very rough but pretty hands. No matter how much lotion he applies his skin remains a bit on the dry side

The walls on his room are completely covered by posters, drawings (by Mikey of course) and pictures. Not a lot of frames, prefers tape

Tosses around in his sleep a lot and often kicks his blankets off. Sleeps with his mouth open and wonders why his throat feels dry.

DONNIE

Likes sour candy and salty snacks. Go-to's are those Airheads rainbow strips and Sour cream and onion chips.

His usual coffee order is a cold brew. Likes clean and intense flavors and NEEEDS his caffeine. Very little to no sugar, might add milk if he's in a particularly good mood.

Picky eater except when he cooks for himself. Knows what he likes and doesn't trust anyone else to make food exactly how he wants it (maybe will let Mikey cook for him but will micromanage him. Mikey hates it but complies most of the time)

Cannot eat spicy things at all. Ever so often he tries to see if he likes it he never does

Chews a lot of gum

Won't drink water unless it's flavored somehow and ICE COLD. Otherwise he feels like he can taste it and gets grossed out.

His hands are very nimble but covered in small cuts. Bites his nails and picks at his skin when very stressed

Likes soggy fries

MIKEY

Loves gummy candy and chocolate with add ins. Never can decide on what snack to have so he must get a sweet, a salty and a chocolate one, eats a bit of everything.

Licks the powder off Takis and spits out the chip. Prefers popcorn to chips.

Dislikes coffee. Prefers to have soda, likes how the carbonation feels in his mouth. Never passes on a good milkshake

Always has paint under his nails and on his face, not because he doesn't wash but because he uses it constantly.

Most of the things he owns are covered in stickers

His phone screen is cracked but visible. Destroys headphones and has to replace them frequently

His room is the messiest but somehow never misplaces things. Has those "mom powers" where he finds lost things without even looking

Loves cooking, hates doing the dishes. When it's his turn to cook for the fam, always asks one of his brothers to "help" him but he only makes them clean after him. Usually it's Raph.

Snorts and wheezes when he laughs

Collects gachapon miniatures and pins

Fave art medium to use is spray and acrilic paint. Least favorite is colored pencils and watercolor

Hey! I just wanted to ask what kinds of brushes and watercolors you use for your drawings. I really like them! I’m also going to start to use watercolors to paint my traditional drawings. Could I have some tips as well?

Ok so this is a fairly long post.  I tried to be reasonably thorough, and I talk about paint, brushes, and gave some tips, as well as linked some brilliant videos - hopefully that helped :)) feel free to ask for any clarifications though! /gen

Oh, I've accumulated a large amount of watercolours over the years. This is my currently most used palette, that i’ve assembled myself from different palettes throughout the years:

My first set of watercolours was a small Winsor & Newton set, which included these:

I then got this set of Kuretake for my birthday:

And I got some shiny ones from Creadu, though I'm not sure if they're available internationally:

As well as some singular pans also from Winsor & Newton:

Then there's a set i have from my parents. These are older than I am, and some aren't very useable, over all they're pretty good, I'd say.  I have no idea what the brand is, though, or what brand would be closest to them, so that I could recommend it.

Regarding brushes, I’d say the more natural ones are simply incomparable to the cheap ones. I’d take 2 or even 1 good brush over a full set of those plastic ones anytime.

Here’s my full collection, though the plastic ones I use for gouache.  They simply aren’t suitable for watercolours, regardless of how much scammy brands try to convince you.

And these are the ones I use fur watercolours:

You can get some soft, round brushes for relatively cheap - you just need to find a nice art shop.  regarding size, I’d probably get a size 6 if you want to start off with just one brush, and sizes 5 and 10 if you can go for 2.  though that of course depends on how large you want your pieces, ect - but I feel like that’d be a pretty universal choice. I personally mostly use a 6, then go in with a 4 to add details, and add washes to the bg mostly with a 10 - my pieces are usually between half of an A5 sheet of paper, and an A4 one, so that should give you an approximate idea of what you might want to go for.  You need to keep in mind, that most brushes - even the bigger ones - will have a fine tip, when wet, so there really isn’t much of a need to buy anything below a 2, especially at the beginning - simply don’t push down too hard.

In regards to art itself - don’t use white watercolours the way you would with other paints.  Watercolour painting is using the negative space a lot of the time - the white watercolour is never going to be as vibrant and bright as the paper itself, not to mention it won’t be able to cover up the darker colours in the first place, seeing how it’s quite a bit transparent, as watercolours are.

That being said, I highly recommend you use white gel pens!  They can add a very lovely touch in general, not only in watercolours (you can see it in many of my pieces, seeing as I draw on a tinted paper a lot of the time).  Personally, I recommend gelly rolls.  I’ve bought a set of 3 a couple years ago, and they’re still working just fine.  In my experience these are the only gel pens that actually work, though keep in mind I’m from Poland, so there might be something better over where you live.

With watercolours you neeed to start off with the lighter colours, and add more and more dark ones, making sure to leave the brightest spaces blank, and not paint over them.  Be patient, wait for layers to dry, don’t rush it.  Watch videos of how people paint with watercolours, observe, try to learn through imitation!

Aditionally, try not to use blatant, black paint.  Try mixing a couple colours such as dark brown, dak blue, perhaps some red, a bit of yellow, ect - take your time time, and learn how your paint works, and how it mixes!  Ultimately, you don’t really need black and white paints most of the time for watercolours, unlike in other kinds of paint.

Ultimately my watercolour and brush collections and skill have been growing over the past, well, more than 6 years, so be patient!
