hello ummm just wanted to say!!! i really like the dynamic you give fresh and nightmare/color with the whole “cat who goes to different houses to get fed twice” thing. nightmare and his weird cat that he has probably locked in a basement a few times. color and this guy he picked off the road because he looks weird and decided he can solve this mess. fresh does not have any strong personal feelings towards either of them.

i very much so like the comic thing where nightmare and ccino were talking about fresh and ccino thought he was a kitten cat,,, no he is not but he acts like one. “he keeps crawling on my lap” that is a grown man get him away!!!! he has a dog cage i think that he is put in sometimes for naughty behavior. he doesn’t really care because he’s allowed his gameboy though. do you think nightmare ever sprays him with water when he does something bad. and this is like a grown adult. what

maybe i just like the trope of dehumanization (bonus if with someone who’s weirdly chill with it like fresh) but whatever,,, your art!!!! it gives me life!!! i very much enjoy the pixely type style and how freak you draw fresh. he’s a fucking creature he is. something is wrong with that guy. and i love him soooo much. so creature. he’s the kind of guy to do that thing where you walk on all fours up the stairs.

AND the way you characterize him is!!!! so good!!!!!!!!! he is so fucked up and weird and terrible and manipulative!!!!!!! he takes advantage of others’ empathy and feelings because he has very little of it himself and whenever he does feel it he does not like it!!!!!!! he looks at a guy with a savior complex and goes yeah i can mentally fuck him up for the next seven months to get something cool i want. he’s just actually terrible and i love him for that.

i also!!! don’t know too much about CB but i feel that fresh’s dynamic with them (him?? i forgor) is very interesting from what i have seen!!!!!! and their shimeji is very cute i still need to download it but i like it a lot :3

Glad you like the dynamics haha X] Fresh having very little personal feelings about people is fun and interesting to me. As someone who has trouble connecting and low empathy, its nice to depict someone like me. [Guy interacting with people who are a Lot more invested than he is ghghg]

Fresh would only accept being put in the cage because he can teleport out. Anything like that is only for the Aesthetic, which I think Nightmare would still be down for. Shove that thang into some awful little crate, as a treat. [Honestly I think Fresh would like to get in some nice dog crate with a blankie. Small hide / den thing to nap in :-]]

ALSOOOO dehumanization and freak who doesn't mind is my favorite dynamic <333. Fresh doesn't mind because... he isn't a monster? or a human? And he doesn't have a human/monster centric view of the world. Being seen as a human/monster isn't in anyway important to him, because he doesn't seen it as better/worse. He is the way he is, why does it matter?

Its like, I don't think a cat has very strong opinions on the fact it isn't a man. I also think Fresh is incredibly self-centered and when he's on a high point, sees himself as above humans/monsters. Of course he's not seen as human, he's Fresh! he's a sick-nasty parasite! way cooler. [annnddd way cooler that he gets to eat dog-treats. heck yeah!!]

Also I drew up a little thing with CB and Fresh. Its ahh, I like them a lot I just get nervous speaking about them because its suuuch a oc & canon are besttties that it makes me feel a bit cringe... I also get nervous because CB and Fresh have a very, toxic?? friendship.

Fresh is very possessive and strange about it, because this is his Only friend and he has very dysregulated emotions. Not being able to feel positive emotions often makes it so when he does, he gets very odd about it. So its a lot of... trying to keep CB to himself, at the detriment to CB's goals and ambitions. [CB is trying to track his family down, and Fresh uh. knows. where they are. and is not telling him :-)]

I dunno I think Fresh being genuinely friends with someone but also an awful person about it is like, sorely missing from the fandom landscape. He's a bad person but bad people can still form meaningful relationships and!!! I think that should be explored :-]

[They do eventually get somewhere more healthy. As in, Fresh's whole Thing is revealed, a lot of shinanigans happen, CB lives with his family and Fresh and CB reconnect and become friends again, just with like. Fresh trying actively to do "good person things" to make sure CB's family doesn't shoo him off [I ADOREEE good actions for morally ambiguous reasons!!!], and CB with the understanding that his best friend is Kinda a Freak.]

my friends helped me choose his name and at first they wanted a name like Chris or som but then we started yapping ab Chris from sonic x. Finally she let out a sigh as she was slowly giving up... that's before she felt someone's presence... she could even hear the worry in their voice...

"Are you... alright? Do you need help?"

Looking up, she finally noticed... girl withg reen hair and purple eyes! It was as if hope filled her again.

"A-Are you Nene Kusanagi perhaphs?"

"Uh... yes, that'd be me..."

"I'm so glad I finally found you... Here, Emu wanted me to deliver you this package."

Looking up, she noticed one of her favorite ever people she got to work with! Shizuku!!

So I guess, I’ll talk about two of those things here, that I really wish to talk about: Mental-Health + Platonic Male-Female Friendships in Landslide! <3 

Mental Health in Landslide

Landslide is arguably one of the darkest, most saddening fics I’ve ever written - just dealing with the topics at hand and many of the themes that are presented through - it’s heavy to take on I can agree with that. And, something that really grew to life with Natia as an OC, was her mental health that I knew could not be ignored throughout the context of this fic.

Mental Health is so extremely important in this day and age, and I always feel it’s important to advocate for Mental Health Awareness more than anything, especially with this pandemic. And I feel, writing an OC who suffers with her own mental health, is in a way, one of the qualities people can relate to. 

I wrote Elizabeth Elliot in TSOS + AAPA who had ADHD and I wanted to continue to represent that in my fics, the importance of recognizing mental health. 

Natia Filipska, she has severe depression. Through research, I found many people, after years of war and testing, suffered through major depression during the Second World War, many civilians, soldiers, anyone who fought, nearly anyone and I felt that was fascinating and also important to highlight. War is not kind in anyway and I feel with the horrors of that war, especially in Europe, it was bound to occur. And representing Natia in that way I felt was more appropriate than anything - fighting since Day 1, September 1st, 1939, and still fighting 5 years later when she meets Easy - I just felt it was important to show to the best of my ability, my take on Natia’s depression during the war and show how important it is to know the signs and check up on your friends. 

So, I will lay it out here - Natia does in fact have severe depression. There are many events over the course of the past 5 years of her life that have brought this on and for extremely valid reasons. Some that haven’t even been mentioned yet, which I’m excited to unveil! 

Natia has her own ways of showing this - extremely sad and depressive thoughts, she squints her eyes a lot, she does not have the tendency to smile much or even the will to assimilate with others, she squeezes her fists together a lot, even to make persistent fingernail marks in her palm which becomes a major topic of conversation, and she has days where she is so numb she doesn’t talk but then she breaks down from her bottled up feelings all alone and sobs her eyes out. She is is no way a hero, she makes bad decisions sometimes, she suffers the consequences, she feels the pain of so many things and she bears it all. Definitely one of the most complex characters I’ve ever written, but it’s been a pleasure. 

Platonic Male-Female Friendships in Landslide

Similar to how Death’s relationship with Natia is extremely important, Natia’s platonic relationships with the men is also highly important. Romance is definitely fun more than anything, and I always manage to include it in my fics and it’s always the main thing happening at the end with postwar - you see the OC and her BoB guy together, yes! But, though there is romance evidently in Landslide, I want to show that platonic relationships mean just as much as the romantic ones do and that the love can be just as powerful! 

I don’t want to give too much away, but her friendships are the most prominent thing throughout that she really needs more than anything and I want to talk about one of the important ones - George Luz. She of course befriends the others in their own ways, own strange dynamics - don’t even get me on how her and Lieb become friends or even Speirs or Lip, EVEN WINTERS, dare I say Nix or Harry? Johnny or Malarkey? Yep, they’re all interesting dynamics LOL!! But George Luz is the most important. 

Of course, one may think - how does that work - they’re complete opposites? The sunshine guy who makes people laugh and the numb girl who can barely crack a smile? WELL! Not only does their radio operator nature heavily connect the two, but, an approach I took to this is, they can’t ignore each other - this isn’t training, it is in fact war and they both know war at this point and they both understand it, maybe not in the same way, but they both know war. Normally, if it were training, this would be a different approach, but they’re in war and they have no choice but to work together, even if grudges are held. 

In this weeks chapter, just a tidbit, Natia mentions why she feels so well with befriending George of all people - he makes an effort to keep conversation with her, something that not many people are willing to do upon meeting her and something she can’t really change because of her mental state. But George makes that initial imprint and effort to converse with her more than anything. BUT I WON’T SAY MUCH ELSE AHH!! Just that, they’re friendship is one of my absolute favorite things to write and so extremely important to this plot!! <3

It’s easy to connect with others, make nice, and be formal. That’s just the everyday of someone with nobility status. Yet making friends? That’s really hard for Kisa. Sure she cooperates, grows warm and all, but getting attached is an entirely different matter. (If it weren’t for survival, she wouldn’t even bother forming connections :D) Even with all the smiles and flattering she gets, let’s just say not everyone grows up being a social butterfly lmao. She’ll attend your parties but don’t expect to see her where there is light. XD

📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun? What things bore your OC to tears and they couldn’t care less about? Why?

Ohh-ho how she likes flexing her ability to blend magic in swordsmanship. Not that she didn’t went through hell mastering the art but she did it and she’s hella proud. Probably the only thing she knew she earned herself. On that note, she loves lectures about combat and practical use of magic. She can sit aaall day just teaching what she knows and laughing at the poor soul she’s mentoring. She hates history subjects though, didn’t find any use of it in battle. Not yet at least haha

Creepy crawlies fhgfjskgh ahh yes, but she gotta deal with it while surviving in the wilds. (No wonder her flame cloaks are executed with such control and power. She got a lot of practice mwahaha :D) She’s easily spooked by the undead as well. On deeper matters, however, she detests seeing people throw themselves in for her bc it brings back bad memories. This is why she trains hard, so nobody would do that, so she can save them and not the other way around. She’d seen enough of people getting harmed bc of her.

And this determination doesn’t only scare her enemies but also her allies. XD Her blade’s fast, and she’d set people alight in a snap, but y’know what’s more intimidating? She’s smart about managing her spells. :’D

She has a hard time calming down. or grounding herself. often needing help from her friends before she zaps back to reality. So it’s probably for the good that she travels with people. At least, her focus will latch on them and protecting them instead of unnecessarily annihilating every breathing man in the scene. 

💜 Music or Silence? Swords or Spells? Cities or Nature?

Oh it’s not that she dislikes music, but she prefers silence. Listening to nature, to the distant sounds of civilization. It helps her keep alert, too.

Swords or... hmm she’s definitely leaning more to spells. Those are her best ones. True, she may have mastery over short blades but she enjoys doing very high damage with very little work more.

Nature anytime. But I’m betting she’d want a balance of two. She can’t live in the nature alone. She’d rather spend a year on the tavern than live as a hermit. She may not like socializing but deep down, Kisa knows she needs to see people at least a few times every week. XD

🌸 What does your OC’s voice sound like? Their laugh? Are they good at singing? Do they have an accent?

Now that IS interesting bc I never specified it anywhere but... Her voice is.. *sigh*... I might just be weebing out here but I always based her voice on Miyuki Sawashiro’s deeper ones (Here are some with close ranges.) (Also here is when she’s angry if ur interested. She’s the black haired one.). It fits with her age and personality both from playful to sad to murderous moods :D

Regarding singing, nah they just average af XD and the only accent they can do is a poshier one from High Rock. :’D

to her, all her ability to cry was lost to her the day her dad died. after that, and for a straight month afterwards, then a period where she refused to utter a SOUND for a 5 month period.. she hasn’t and refused to let anyone push her to the point of tears again. these days, she prefers to make OTHERS cry (like the true villainess she is ajsknas). and to push her to that point it would take the death of her uncle, or worse so, the one always at her corner for as long as she could remember and love of her life ash. these two remaining anchors would be enough to do it. and given that anya possesses gravikinesis AND umbrakinesis aka: the abilities to manipulate shadows and gravity itself, for the worlds sake ONE BETTER HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM.

YOU ARE ASKING THE BEST QUESTIONS GABBY i literally adore u for that omg. the can of WORMS this is jsdndah. so there is her father who passed away by assassination, her estranged mother, her uncle luka (and current head of the family) the man who has raised her since her fathers passing a decade prior, her babushka and dedushka.

her family relationships are... complicated? her mother, a superhero who separated from her father to continue her career in hero work (she chose her celebrity and reputation in essence kdosja) THEY HAVE NOT SPOKEN SINCE THAT CONFRONTATION and its a good thing! it would take a LOT for her to like.. make anya forgive her. (like when her mother comes asking for help in the story its gonna be INTERESTING jksdfkjf). her and her uncle have always been close! this is her closest familial connection, the number one supporter of her succession as the head of the morozov crime family AND her desire for vengeance against her fathers murderers. her relationship with the rest of her family, her babushka and dedushka and the morozov crime family is good..? she has a high respect for both of them and is poised to take the seat as head of the family. its a good relationship! her dad passed away and to be truthful the only person who could have been her anchor towards a more altruistic path.. had he still been alive she would have chosen to become a vigilante just as he was. :’) he was her anchor, her favorite person.. CRYING.

she likes it fine! annushka’s thoughts these days are more veering towards her 25th birthday and her divine vengeance against her fathers killers skansk, but she likes the holiday fine! its nice to be appreciated by her admirers u know? 😌 and she has! many.. MANY times. she has had more than her fair share of admirers, and although they were nice, looked nice and the gifts were as well.. none of them were all that appealing. she actually hasn’t! anya is one of those under the expectation that if she loves someone, she doesn’t need to tell them for them to know! perhaps its bc shes got a particular person in mind to give that honor to and this is all just an excuse sajhnsd.

this is my fav question ahh I adore talking and reading about inspo behind characters ☺️!! i had an oc from a LONG while ago from something from a different thing and she is the successor! (a far more unhinged, far more vengeful and villain aligned oc!) also! the lasombra from vtm (the RUTHLESSNESS and the shadow manipulation!), DANY very inspired by daenerys (the domino of tragedies in a short time that led to her losing control), and a bit of witcher 3 ciri! (the revenge kill of imlerith for vesemir and anya wanting to kill her fathers murderers) i also was very inspired by her umbrakinesis when I made her pinterest board and so a lot of that has elements of shadow and the black and white aesthetic, this is also the first thing i decided for her! and that her name/nickname would be anya! ive always wanted to name an oc anya, and was waiting to find the PERFECT oc to fit that and! she did!

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

NOT WELL NOT ONE BIT. as she is on a hunt for BLOOD in regards to her fathers killers, and how she handled her fathers death and her own misfortunes as a whole. the whole declaration of making the ones who have wronged her pay for what they’ve done to who she cares for and who has cared for her, to wrong her loved ones is a VERY bad idea! one that’ll cost you! she’ll raze the entire city if it means divine retribution sadsjndai. she doesn’t! whoever had misstepped on those she loved its THEM who hurt them and it’ll be THEM who will be sorry! but she used to blame herself!
