Okay guys I have a problem. With the latest update of the Twst game, no battle sections are opened anymore. Material battles are main story battles and side story, no battles are opened and only the loading screen and battle theme music plays. Even though I sent an e-mail through the help panel, I still have not received a response to my e-mail and this has been going on for 5 days. I'm using the Japanese version, what should I do?

1 she is literally just transgender. like textually. stanley and i have joked about how its kind of written in the "cowards way" in that shes just a reincarnation that is basically a cis woman but considering this show came out in 2016 and the fact that there's like never any weird jokes about her gender i think this is like the best possible outcome. she has a few moments where she brings up like her old life and never really seems to think much of her weird little trans circumstances. casually talks about women she loved and theres never any jokes like "AHAAA but i am a girl nowww" or whatever. someone once wrote an entire article about her and this whole thing much to my surprise (same person picks up on tchaikovsky's trans implications as well but i forget if thats in this article or another one on this site. i digress) its great

for some reason her being trans made her also become blonde. its funny putting the two designs side by side

theres a few instances where shes shown playing in the show and i think each time they use piano renditions of actual franz liszt pieces so she's literally just playing her own songs for people without them really knowing.... very very cute little detail

tangentially she's also shown to have a bit of a thing for alcohol which is a trait really only shared with schubert (her orange friend) and it never comes up in the show but GOD i wish they had a little scene of them getting blasted together i know they would.

thinking about it this actually comes up with tchaikovsky who's not allowed to drink on account of being like 15 and the way she prevents her from drinking is simply by stealing any drinks from her and chugging them

4 ive made the comparison before of white woman isel but she literally. just is. she has an entire motif about love and romance and gets excited when people's relationships are weird and complicated in a very like. "oh i am here to observe a story that will entertain me" way. very much has a penchant for the theatrics. and all of this is kind of surface level so the fact i bring to the table is that each time she has a fun little fancy outfit she always corresponds it to like. some kind of stereotypical archetypal fictional setting. her magical girl outfit is pirate themed and there's an entire episode about her literally constructing a fake cowboy au of all her roommates in her mind where she's a badass sheriff who made a pact with the literal devil. charms me A LOT that she kind of terraces around schlocky fiction that's all about drama. it's a cute little parallel to freddy's own dependencies on creating dogshit comics

5 this is not so much a fact as much as it is simply an earnest recommendation but she has an entire episode about challenging a guy to a piano duel where she spends all her prep time just working out. i cannot say any more about it because its genuinely just better experienced outright. if youve got like 20 minutes to waste just dip into season 2 episode 10 its probably the best episode in the show from an objective point of view and its all about her and its all you need to see

A Compiled list of Lux's Domina headcanons cuz hes literally me:

• He was completely sheltered from his brothers //excluding Epi// until age 10, and doesnt really know them well, nor does he like them.

• IZ has a 'plan' he goes through w/ all his kids to brainwash them bc hes a cult leader. Domina is the *least* damaged from this and is the most likely to return to a "normal" life after heavy therapy.

• IZ also has *✨special✨* ways he traumatizes all his kids. Domina was 'given' to Epidem as a test subject at around age 8-10. He didn't know they were siblings.

• None of the quintuplets were 'given birth too', they were all artificially made by IZ bc in a world w/ THIS much magic influence you cant tell me thats **not** possible.

- Because they arent *technically* humans, and Domina was the only brother who got a fake heart thats more like a shitty prosthetic than a demons heart, that aforementioned 'test subject' bs? Yeah, Domina doesnt have real blood. All his blood was slowly replaced by a Darkness magic variant, making it black, and giving him the same healing properties given to his brothers by the demon hearts.

• Charles acts like the mother of the group //for obvious reasons// and bc Domina is the youngest //16, while the others are 17 and Charles is 18// and *arguably* the most traumatized, he gets babied by Charles the most.

• He doesnt really know how to be a normal person, so when they all first hungout outside the school, Domina had no idea what was going on, kinda exactly like Mash's first time out w/ his friends, they both enjoyed it.

• Domina jokes that he like Lovie more than Lévis, Lovie plays along and it pisses Lévis off ALOT.

• Post-eclipse arc, Domina quietly laughs at Kenny's puns more.

Doom is the second least traumatized by their father, bc after he was born with a disability, IZ just neglected him in favor of his able-bodied children. Doom subtly tried to protect his siblings from their father, yet ultimately failed until Domina, tho it wasnt rly him stopping his father.

Doom realized Mash could deafeat their father and save Domina, at least, thats why he suddenly gave up fighting at a point. He met someone stronger, lost, and was sure his father would lose too.

This goes a little more in depth on how i think Doom's Master Cane works, butttttt he threatened the judge/ whoever to not put Domina in prison cause hes **16** and can still be healed from his issues, at least partially.

Madara: Haha~! Well, well, well! What’s going on? Just wheeere did all your initial bravado go~?

I mean, you’re the one who volunteered to be my sparring partner—that’s why I’m availing myself fully of your kind offer… However, it looks like you’re totally having second thoughts about that nowww, aren’t you, Jun-san? 

Jun: —Geh… …!

Madara: Fufufu~—If you won’t come over to attack me, I’m gonna go over to attack youuu, you know~?

All the fights I’ve been fightin’ these past few years—they’ve always been on behalf of someone else. It’s been such a long time since I’ve had to prepare for a genuine competition like this, so I keep losing focus to the things happening all around me without my noticing.

Tetora: On behalf of someone else? … … Was that really what you’ve been doing?

Kuro: Well, pretty much. I dunno if I should call it a blowback from the past, or maybe even a penance fer what I’ve done. Anyway, havin’ to stand on the frontline to fight on my own like this makes me feel hella uneasy.

Kuro: If that’s what you feel I’ve been doing, Tetsu, then I suppose it was well worth having gone all out back then too.  

I guess havin’ the title of Taishou must’ve helped to reform me, in that sense. Havin’ the title made me think there’s no way I could allow my kouhais to see such a disgraceful side of me—

And that’s probably why I’m feelin’ so troubled at having to prove my strength after so long——and havin’ to settle this score that I couldn’t in the past, now.

Tetora: Hm~mm. Taisho, you’ve been having conflicted feelings about lots of stuff too, huh? 

I’m an idiot though, so I don’t get any of that at all. Isn’t it enough to simply say it’s because “You want to win”?

Kuro: Hmm? 

Tetora: No. Saying this to you, Taisho, is like preaching to the choir, but—I think everyone has the same feeling of wanting to be recognised as a strong, cool and dependable person. 

Take Morisawa-senpai, for example; he’s very easy to understand, right? He’s always saying, “I wanna be a hero!”, and there’re times when he doesn’t live up to the name—

—but even so, I think there are occasions where he brings cheer to everyone around him with his frankness.

Taisho’s just the opposite—you’re carrying way too much baggage on your shoulders. It really wouldn’t hurt if you were to enjoy yourself more carefreely, because no one will call you out on it at all.

Kuro: … … Yeah, I guess so. You might be right about that.

Tetora: I—Is that so… …? To me, listening to Taisho’s stories from the past is something I’ll never grow tired of, though!

U~myuuu. First, there was Mikejima-senpai, and now there’s your past with Morisawa-senpai as well, huh. The mysteries surrounding Taishou’s past are increasing!

Kuro: Forget about it. Right now, all of that’s considered a dark history, a past I don’t want anyone to know too much about. 

In any case, I’m focused on the upcoming fight in front of me now. 

When we’re done running, I wanna start training for the actual fight right away. You’ll stick with me fer that, won’t ya, Tetsu?

finally got around to watching sk8 the infinity (finished it in one sitting) and i didn’t expect it to be as overtly queer as it was. its never explicitly stated but theres enough subtle moments where im like maybe just maybe the writers will go through with it in season two. either way its rlly enjoyable!! reki was my favorite need more scenes of him skating nowww. im excited for the next season also devastated this is an anime original and i cant go read the manga to see what happens next ;-;

i can'ttt the waves of pain I just felt /pos /in the best way possible.

AND yesss the everything here. Lu Guang and CXS midnight tea parties. I. cri. I. Sob. they are sooo precious. ANd like with CXS being the one that has to fix his broken past, and that he believes his time travel powers give him the ability to do so (at least in season one, which slowly proves him wrong, that he can't change the past but the future (Lu Guang) and present (Qiao LIng) give him something better to look forward to - hence his shift in strategy/his abilities in episode 10 and 11 annnnddd I'm rambling.) So he's trying to fix everyone else's broken past as a way to vicariously fix his own and keep everyone together.

And this whole mentality of 'others will leave me' scarcely applies to CXS himself, because he never considers his clingy self as the one to leave his loved ones.

(But he does. In cannon. He dies. ... and yea honestly I feel like that wil play a role in his reaction to Lu Guang diving back to save him. IN that revelation there's two things he needs to react to - and according to past analysis there's soooo many different ways he can react to this - that Lu Guang broke his own rules that CXS didn't even break, and that CXS died and left everyone he loved behind.)

OKAY and nowww this makes me think of the parrallel between his parents with this WHICH I DID NOT CONNECT BEFORE HOLY HERBS

ANd like, analysis aside, i would sobbb if this was in three times the charm.

Qiao Ling joking about picking up a habit from her dad/ mom and how she's slowly becoming like them. The group laughs, there's something insincere about Cheng Xiaoshi's smile and the day goes on.

And then, late at night, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are in their bunk beds and Lu Guang hears that his partner keeps turning, unable to find a comfortable position and - even less - fall asleep.

He climbs down the ladder and makes hot tea for both of them and Cheng Xiaoshi follows him into the kitchen, because that's their little ritual.

Lu Guang doesn't ask why Cheng Xiaoshi is feeling uneasy, because he'd always tell him if there was something he needed help with.

And there, in the kitchen, well past midnight and illuminated only by a tiny lamp, because the big lamp hurts the eyes, Cheng Xiaoshi asks:

"Is it inevitable that we become like our parents? Am I doomed to leave the person that loves me the most?"

Bonus: Lu Guang's answer is a very affectionate "Idiot" and it's all Cheng Xiaoshi needed to hear.

Ok and now onto the "real" review. I love this show because it takes its time. In any other show i would have thought: hey 30 days till Viren dies so this means the 30 days will end this season right?

Wrong. The season takes place over what 4 days? If that. And that is great. Of course Callum and Rayla dont get together again. The trust is broken and needs to be rebuilt. So everything in this show takes time. It explains the story, explains the lore so you understand everything. Qnd it does that perfectly.

I also love how much i resent (bc hate is too strong a word) Viren and how conflicted i am about Claudia. That shows that both characters are verry well developt. Both have kind sites. And you see them every now and then. Claudias more then Virens. But their actions are unexcusable. Simple as that. And i also love that they now have a moral compass so to say with them. Terry really fits well to Claudia and i hope we will see more of both of them in the future. Also Viren like realy learns to respect him. Idk feels like Terry will break up with Claudia in the future starting her redemption arc.

Nowww i come to a bit of stuff i found... meh.

First of all the excuse why the Dragon Queen wasn't realy present. Idk felt a bit... cheap. Also that Rayla just reappered. These are the main two story points where i think a bit more context would be great.

Bevore i forget the c plot of this season (the whole sun elve thing) was great. I liked it alot. It showed the struugle everybody has and you can see the tension. The trial is one of my favourite scenes just from the perspective of the problems everybody is facing.

And lastly my main "complaint" this season. Rayla. Girl i love you. With all my heart. But it just felt off. She reappred so randomly. And then she axts like everything is fine. I don't think anymore that she is an ilusion or something. The scene with the coins made it obvious but i think they should have showed her with more guilt. Like they showed Calum with hurt.

I think these are the main points for now. So.....

7.5/10 solid season pls get back to the 9 you were before. Seasin 5 when?

I'm going to answer this in terms of platonic friendships because I really haven't thought much into a crossover for next season. Without further ado, I give you three friendships I need in the One Chicago universe. (Also, leaving this under the cut because this is long.)

1. Kelly and Jay

We got a bit of this in Fire 7x02 and PD 6x02 when Kelly helped Jay find the guy who killed his dad in the arson fire because Voight threw Jay off the case. But, I need to see them doing bro things together, like taking the boat out and going fishing (and hopefully the boat still works and they don't have to be rescued like in that Fire episode when Kelly and Stella went on a date in the boat). Also, I want to see them riding motorcycles together because Jay has a motorcycle, we saw it in Fire 7x02 and never saw it again AND I NEED IT BACK. Finally, Kelly's basically an honorary detective himself because of how good he is at investigating arsons, so I need him to work a case with Intelligence and get paired up with Jay and Hailey.

2. Hailey and Stella

What can I say about these two? They're both total badasses, so imagine them TOGETHER??? Holy shit, they'd make a kick ass duo! Also, I need a scene of Stella saving a kid in a fire, and Hailey and Jay being on scene, and Stella and Hailey comforting the kid...because that'd be fluffy and cute af. (Also, because I want more Kelly and Jay moments and more Hailey and Stella moments, I propose an upstead and stellaride double date.)

3. Kelly and April

We know that Kelly moved in with April for a summer because his parents were having problems, but we don't know much about it, so I'd love more backstory on that and their high school years. (AS I'M WRITING THIS I REMEMBERED YAYA IS LEAVING. FUCK. SO THIS IS JUST THINGS I WANT TO HAPPEN AND NOW THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN BC SHE'S GONE.) I also want him to talk to April about how in love he is with Stella, maybe he asks April's parents to make frito pie for like a side or something for the stellaride wedding (I'm pretty sure it was frito pie that he asked if they still made when he went back to April's childhood home to see her parents in some episode. I forgot the episode though and can't find the scene on google for shit. So, don't come at me if I'm wrong).

Anyway, there's my three duos I'd like to see more of...even though I know we won't see any Kelly and April because Yaya's not coming back to Med 😥

(PS. There needs to be more Will and Jay scenes because we ALWAYS need more of them together!)

Edit finale part 4 (the finales finale): okay the series and movie were totally off the hook! The animation style/overall art style was fantastic and I'm so glad I decided to watch it all despite my doubts. I think it was a pretty good balance of goofy, funny, character building, seriousness, and happy endings:) definitely a whole ass roller coaster I would love to see more of. So many thoughts and yet so little words. 10/10 would recommend:]
