HEHEHE YES ABSOLUTELY YOU GET IT YOU GET IT… like they don’t Improve Themselves SOLELY for/to impress/etc each other (because i don’t think that’s a belief that either of them subscribe to), but they find that when they start improving themselves or opening themselves up to the ideas of learning how to see things/Be a little bit Different than how they normally are… they LIKE who they are.,, and that Learned Perspective stays with them even when they’re not together… and they find they’ve Improved themselves.., and i think t hat’s something that’s so important when it comes to being in love too. not Everything revolves around your partner but Lots of it Does… and it all always comes back to You….. You and Your Feelings are something that can make or break a relationship., and not in the sense of “if you mess up it’s Over”, but in that Knowing you (and your partner) are Flawed People who have Likely Been Through Something Or Other and that Mostly Everyone deserves of patience and understanding and forgiveness….

and sniper and medic being so Starkly Opposite just drives that home for me… they have so much they can teach each other and so much they can learn from each other and it can create a relationship that is raw and sincere in its Feelings but perhaps messy and frustrating in its Conception… but medic fights to understand sniper because medic believes sniper is Worthy of being understood, which isn’t something sniper has ever known before. and sniper wants to understand medic because he’s a bit jealous of him (wishes he could be As Emotionally Free As Medic Is) but also that he wants to reciprocate that patience and understanding… and in that Give And Take is where their love really shines.., in small moments that Could Maybe Be Missed are ignited by a touch… boots touching, medic’s thumb on sniper’s collarbone, sniper clapping medic’s shoulder on their way in from a match, etc… HEHEHEHE

lately i've been thinking about how medic Interacts with sniper.,., i think in my writing i make this pretty clear but talking about it casually is a totally different vibe than doing so within the like. realm of my fics.., but i think medic's personality is one that can be a bit fickle and difficult to write! he's playful, sadistic, charismatic.,., patient and impatient.,., he's Unpredictable so that means writing him in a way that feels… Consistent can be a bit of a struggle!! i’m most insecure about how i write medic honestly, so trying to nail him means a lot to me since it’s something i struggle with so much!! i think medic loves being unpredictable and enjoys being an Enigma to people, even to those he considers friends. it excites him that he keeps others guessing!! but i think it would take someone like sniper to Truly capture medic’s… Romantic attention.,., someone who his relationship bleeds (ahah) from Professional-But-Friendly coworkers…

because i don’t think medic is one who runs around Wanting to be besties with Lots of people. i think he likes having Friendly-but-Distant relationships with Most of his teammates/coworkers and Likes that he can Affect people however he pleases with his Charisma but isn’t really. Truly Close with much of anyone (except for heavy)

i think this would make both medic and sniper feel.. Complicated. i don’t think sniper was “traumatized” from the revival itself nor do i think he Actually went to heaven; i think it was a vision/dream/whatever you want to call it and i don’t think he was traumatized by his death. i don’t even think he has trouble wrapping his head around the fact that he WAS revived! but i think it baffles him that medic would even Want to revive him. and i think he has Unresolved Feelings about his parents (despite the “closure” we get in the comics when sniper goes to heaven. i think that’s something he’d Dwell on)… so he feels Complicated about the “fallout” of the revival and not the Revival itself if that makes sense.

to medic, sniper is a miracle. his first revival, living proof of his genius that’s as real as anyone with eyes can see… the uber hearts are works of art too of course, but people can’t see those. people can see sniper, alive, thriving, good as he ever was… That means a lot to medic. and medic’s always been good about keeping his doctor-patient relationships just that. he’s Friendly/Is Friends with the other mercs but doesn’t bear any Emotional Attachment to them (except for heavy, who i think is his best friend)…. but what medic doesn’t anticipate is that Feelings.., Can Grow Where They’ve Never Been Before… and that’s never happened to medic before.

both medic and sniper think that once feelings are felt they just stay that way forever (which is Supposed to be ironic given medic’s ability to be cunning/manipulative)…. this Thing between them sneaks up on both of them… and sniper is emotionally immature but medic is Very in touch with his own feelings… falling in love really is something that nobody can prepare for….! something i love about the ship itself is that i think they’re both flawed people and i don’t think they’re “star crossed” or “soulmates” or anything like that…. i think they develop feelings for each other and work to be together because that’s what being in love is about imo… they fight to understand each other and love and accept each other unconditionally…. sniper always wants to push these feelings down and away because he’s always sworn its easier to “feel nothing at all” (even though he’s actually a very emotional person… as we know from his in-game and comic lore!)… but according to medic, part of being alive is the joy of feeling… and things that invoke feelings are… worth feeling, no? :-) and felt with pride, not felt with shame or regret… hmm, well, medic Is very charismatic… perhaps he can persuade sniper to see things his way just a little bit!

As a writer, I think about this a lot too! Of course, all of it self-indulgently! Especially when it comes to Simeon. I think it would be adorable if somehow they both took inspiration for their works from each other, maybe without knowing it at first. Because for a while, the MC doesn’t know that Simeon is Christopher. It would be cute if maybe MC went under a pen-name as well, both of each other being fans without knowing it. 

MC leaving little notes or letters around the house for the brothers to read. Maybe pulling out their phone or a notebook to jot down ideas.

man i feel like most of the time when someone hates a character, they dont usually have very much to say about it theyre just like "idk they never stood out to me i just dont care about them i just dont like them" but then ppl who love the character have entire essays about why they like them so much that cites examples from canon and are really well constructed and thought out and thats why i am just such a lover of all characters because ppl always draw me over to their side with their loving gushing rant abt their faves, and the haters dont have anything meaningful to say on the matter!!!

i just think it is so much more fun to talk about a character u love than to talk about a character u hate. to me. i dont like dwelling on negative feelings, this is why i dont like talking about post-canon homestuck at all because it's all so negative and like, i agree with ppls crticisms of it but its like ok i dont really wanna talk about this can we talk about something true and beautiful instead :/ yknow.. i just dont understand why ppl always wanna bring up the things they hate about something... this happened so much at the hs cafe is ur talking about homestuck and then someone is like "haha but fuuuuck post canon amiright" and then we spend 20 minutes talking about the follies of post-canon and its like okaaayyyyyy im tired of this can we talk about beautiful things 😭i just sit there nodding and agreeing cuz like i said, yes i agree w criticisms of it most of the time, but GRAAHHH!! it is just so exhausting to me to constantly be talking about negatives like that.

The Arcane Review

I have not used this account in a long time but I feel like I need to yap a bit after Season 2.

Season 1, keeping it short and brief cause I don't have any real issues with it or anything. The animation and art style used in Arcane is beautiful and such, love that, very appealing to my eyes. The music used is......well it makes you remember this is based on LoL at least...I liked the intro song used and simply tolerated like 70 to 80% of the other music. I stayed firmly on the side of Zaunites throughout my S1 watch especially and barely cared for the Pilties except for maybe Mel but it was more of in a "why are you with a man who looks like he uses 7 in 1 body wash instead of your secretary who looks like she wants you" and the "your mom genuinely fucking sucks" sorta way. On the topic of Ambessa though, I CAN understand why people think she's hot but like I can't get over the whole warlord and genocider thing but anyways. I liked the first season, the pacing seemed great to me I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it has basically zero rewatchability for me.

Now Season 2, I actually have a lot to say about it since its fresher on my brain.

Dawg........Season 2 was kinda shit.....it makes sense why Fallout won over Arcane(even tho I think that it was a very missed opportunity NOT to have Maybe play when the bombs started dropping in Fallout the show) this time at the game awards(aside from S2 of Arcane JUST wrapping up close to the end of November) The pacing and writing felt off and everything felt incredibely rushed and I don't get it? They're making another Arcane series anyways so I dont get why they could have had three seasons instead of trying to mesh together two acts in one 8 episode season? Whoever made it standard that seasons for shows should be 13 episodes or less instead of at least 20, your mom's a hoe‼️

I'm gonna be real for a moment and say I was purely here for more Sevika content that was promised and they FUCKING LIED!! My wife don't even say a singular word in Act 3 aside from "GRAAHHH" LIKE WHAT. Like we still know basically absolutely nothing about her even though she was Silco's right hand and had to take care of Jinx and Isha.

And then the stuff with Cait??? Is just not really addressed???? Cause she went full on dictator and shit after her mom's funeral. That was all her own choice and I don't know why people keep saying "it's because of Ambessa" even though Ambessa literally hadn't even spoken to her yet during her initial crash out, the scuffed shit she was doing to Zaun citizens and pointing a gun at a literal child??? Cait made those decisions literally on her own dude.

Another thing bothering me that was just never addressed is how Ambessa literally had hired those Zaun people with the full intention of no one stopping them from assassinating Mel, HER DAUGHTER. Unless that was something her right hand staged without her knowing???? We don't know because that shit was never addressed afterwards and we can only assume that Mel learn that her mom or her mom's right hand was about to get her killed to make it seem like all of Zaun was evil either.

And the thing with Viktor was...something...he turned into Jesus and started going a bit crazy with power. My main thing with him is that...he is from Zaun, right? So wouldn't he know who Vander and/or Silco are in some way even if he only spent his childhood there?

And then there's the lesbian sex scene which I feel was just..........terribly placed.....? And the writing surrounding what leads up to it is weird too....? Throughout the entirety of Season 2, Cait....I literally like her less than I did in S1 cause she literally called Vi "one of the good ones" in S2 and that was fucking crazy. But Cait has had like zero sympathy of any kind for Jinx, even when Jinx was like super clearly wracked from trauma and grief from seeing, Isha, a child, a child that was in her care, die in front of her. Like I'm pretty sure Vi and Cait also witnessed that too....and the aftermath so you'd think she'd be at least a little bit sympathetic but no???? Unless I missed something????

Then afterwards when Vi arrives and does try to talk to Jinx about what happened, clearly it's still a fresh wound and she does NOT wanna talk about it due to how painful it is so she lashes out and locks Vi in the cell, and very clearly eludes that she's gonna go off and kill herself and no one is gonna stop her. And then sometime after that, Cait comes by and unlocks the cell and Vi is like "she really hasn't changed..." and its like huh?????? You JUST basically heard her say she'd gonna go off herself and THAT was your conclusion??? Even after the time you got to spend with her prior to the event inadvertently caused by Jayce??? Then Cait just kinda shit talks about Jinx to Vi and trying to reaffirm that "yeah girl! She hasnt changed and I told you so!" in between the comfort and then they start kissing and fucking in the jail cell Jinx had spent days starving herself and wallowing in her own grief and sorrows in.

I'm sorry but was that supposed to get my clit perking up????? Cause it didnt.

And then there's the Black Rose plot, which was just confusing and proves that Act 2 and 3 should've been their own seasons cause it just made everything even more messy and kind of hard to keep up with. Like...???? Question marks was all that was really cause it just provided more questions than there already were.

I thought the fish guy would be of importance cause of how many shots he was getting, the whole thing with Maddie, and that guy Vi was hanging out with that was giving Vander vibes, hell I even thought that one Jinxer would've been important in some way cause she got a few shots too. But nah, all of them just die with little to no fanfare except fish guy whose name was Stev or something, I dunno.

And then the montages were....also annoying to say the least? It seemed like more of an excuse to make a mini music video really.

Did I watch Season 2 all the way through? Yeah. At times it felt like a chore to actually get through it, but yeah.

But did I walk out of it perplexed? Also yes!

I rate season 2 like a 7.5/10

S1 gets like a 9/10
