My German extracurricular (where we just analyse films and plays and shit, the fun stuff we don’t have time for in class) and i are going to see a play based on Hans Christian Andersen and in preparation we read The Little Mermaid, and half of us only knew the Disney version, and only I knew she dies in the end. When we finished reading we all discussed themes and stuff. I had a feeling that the whole story was a queer metaphor and our teacher told us out right that it is!
And the play we are gonna see focuses exactly on thattt im so excited yippie

I feel in the self sharing mood so idk and I'm bored so hers just some random things about me
I do theater, I would type out what I've done but it's too much, I've done it for over half my life or at least I think.... I'm really bad at math
I'm still in highschool so a minor 😨 yippee
The only hockey I've seen in person is Echl and it was the K-wings (Kalamazoo wings)
I live in Michigan yippee
My favorite NHL team is the Vancouver Canucks even though I live in Michigan and the reason for that is because their Echl affiliate is the K-wings
I've taken up the hobby of learning how to ice skate and it has come with a few injuries but not bad ones
My favorite musical is phantom of the Opera and I've seen it once and own the movie and the 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert hall recording
I used to be in too many fandoms and they have cut down because they are WAY too toxic (honestly what fandom isn't)
RAAAH that's all for now ig if you have questions which you probably don't but if you do ask them I have nothing better to do with my life
Signing off with a picture of my husband, Luke Hughes

I feel like it's super cliche to want to be a part of something youlove, but it's highkey my dream to be an sfx artist for theatre, shows and/or movies, so I want to work on a Starkid thing so bad. Hatchetfield especially, but I'd take any fuckin thing.

There are few things that gives me more gender envy than watching theatre. Theatrical men in stage makeup, confident and secure in their masculinity, are everything I aspire to be!

in honor of the ides of march i would like to share about the time i saw a production of julius caesar at the globe theatre in london, and, while it was an Excellent production, anyone standing close to the stage (in classic theatre style, you stand to watch, and the stage is elevated) was absolutely splattered with fake blood by the end. the nice, realistic stuff too. which… would be cool for about two minutes before one realized you would need to go around in public afterwards with Very Suspicious Bloodstains around your head/chest lmao

I was finally honest with a coworker about how I feel about my job (specifically because she’s leaving the industry for good because she hates it so much (she’s not even supposed to be working anymore, her contract is over, but this show is deadset on killing everyone)) and she started talking to me about what I actually enjoy and want to do and I brought up what originally got me interested in working in theatre/film in the first place and she got really excited and started telling me how she used to do that sort of thing and where i should go in the city to see more of it and kept telling me she was trying to think of who to introduce me to to get me into that area and she said, “we’re gonna get you out of here,” which isn’t something I expected someone to say to me about my job which to anyone else would signify me being successful, but my god did her saying it make me realize how trapped I feel in this career path
