By unfortunately you mean fortunately because MANDO CONSPIRACY THEORIES ARE BACK BABY. I hadn't actually listened to the video and you're right that DOES sound like Theo. The decor IS giving Hot Mum Fewtrell taste but I can't say for sure but you know what LET ME BELIEVE IN A BEAUTIFUL WORLD FOR A WHILE. Lando was slutting around in the Fewtrell Family Home...just like old times.....we are a society once more!

In honor of Mando Eve I’m gonna go ahead and regurgitate my fave ooey gooey Dadalorian moments:

My Favorite SoftDad Din Moments

Sticks out his finger to Grogu within 2.5 seconds of meeting him.

Kicks Grogu’s pod away when he’s in danger, very shortly after knowing eachother.

Trying to be subtle, and totally failing, when he asks both the Client and Karga what they’re gonna do with Grogu.

Stormtrooper roughly grabs Grogu’s pod: “Easy with that.”

“No. I don’t want that thing anywhere near him.”

Drops silver ball into Grogu’s hand after previously telling him it wasn’t a toy.

“If you put one mark on him there’s no place you will be able to hide from me.”

Din frantically reaching out for Grogu as he runs to him on Tatooine.

Bends down on his knee to get on Grogu’s level.

The desperate “No!” when Grogu is yeeted into the mamacore’s mouth.

Worriedly fusses with Grogu’s tunic after he’s ripped out his pod after being rescued.

The pure, gentle way he says Grogu’s name when he finally hears it from Ahsoka, like it’s the most precious name he’s ever spoken.

Holds Grogu close, strokes his hand and stares at him like he’s the only thing in the universe.

“Okay I’m gonna protect you. Just stay there, I’ll be back soon.”

Sadly grabs Grogu’s silver ball out of the ashes of the Razor Crest.

“He is my only priority.”

“He means more to me than you will ever know.”

Uses his entire body to shield Grogu when Gideon attempts to shoot him.

Closes eyes in softboi as Grogu gently caresses his face.

“Don’t be afraid.”

The tear in his eyes as he watches his son get carried away in Luke’s arms.

The affectionate back pats when Grogu jumps into his arms in BOBF.

The softest, nearly inaudible chuckle when Grogu coos and strokes his helmet.

How damn quickly protective dad mode is switched on as he activates his jet pack and rescues Grogu.

Sleepily lets Grogu snuggle into his arms on the N-1.

Gently teaching Grogu to be a Mandalorian, which makes him speak more than ever before.

Taking Grogu with him in the N-1 through the air battle with the pirates cause they’re that attached to each other.

And the GOAT: “Wherever I go, he goes.” ❤️

I need help…this stuff takes up more space in my sappy brain than most romances! And it 100% explains why we all love this space cowboy dad the way we do. Din is kinda perfect.

I find it kinda sad the only two roles I know Micheal Mando from is druglord far cry 3 and druglord better call Saul. Like yes OBVIOUSLY Vaas and Ignacio are fucking awesome characters and I adore them both, but it feels very racially motivated to have that guy be two different flavors of the same occupation. He deserves to be in a role that doesn't involve drugs. Like let him be something not associated with the cartel in one way or another please, I'm begging, I don't want him to be typecast into that niche. He could literally be a character that's like, idk... a fucking ER nurse or something.

Since the last neurodivergent!Din post I made provoked so much thoughtful discussion (thank you for that, if you interacted!) I've been thinking about the possibility of Din potentially being nd more and more. Specifically, the way his upbringing in his covert would have impacted on him if he is indeed neurodivergent and I have some thoughts.

I think the way Din was raised would definitely have helped mask his autistic traits successfully in some ways, but also made them stand out more once it came to interacting with people from outside his covert.

Think about it... once he was taken from Aq Vetina and raised by the Children of The Watch, from a very young age he never had to show his face to anyone, ever again. So the tribe that adopted him never got to see the pain and terror that he was experiencing due to the trauma of losing his parents. Which, if he is neurodivergent, I can imagine his new caregivers not realising how upset he was. It's heartbreaking to think about Din experiencing incredible emotional pain following the trauma of losing his parents, yet struggling to communicate it to anyone in his tribe. You tend to realise a kid is upset based on how they look and if the tribe couldn't see his face... I can't stop thinking about baby Din crying behind his helmet and it hurts.

Plus, because he swore the Creed and had to hide his face forever, there was no need to make eye contact or pressure to learn that skill. Which granted, is a skill he doesn't need, but it's still a part of communicating with others that he never learned. When we see him at the beginning of the series, the way he communicates is very direct which was probably fine in his covert but outside of it, he could be viewed as rude. To me, at the start of the show, it feels like he doesn't necessarily see the point of talking, beyond the bare minimum. Which is a mood. Even though he talks far more as the series progress, it's still quite direct communication and he doesn't really participate in small talk. He speaks a lot to Grogu, a child who cannot communicate back to him.

When it comes to adults in the show, every time we've seen Din interacting with groups, it always feels as though he doesn't quite fit in. His covert don't seem to like him that much, he didn't fit in on Sorgan with Omera, he didn't fit in with Xi'an and co in The Passenger, he didn't really fit in with Greef (and Cara) on Nevarro in Season 2. The last scene of season three is not him on a unified Mandalore... once again, he's alone. He's always been an outsider.

Also, the way he was raised by being hidden away on Concordia, it formed the views that we see beginning to be tested throughout the series. The fact the formative years of his life were spent with a tribe with a very strict Creed, it means he learnt what Mandalorians are from his covert and nowhere else. To an autistic person, who can have very rigid and literal patterns of thought, he might have truly believed the Way he follows is the only way to be Mandalorian. I think this is also why he's so certain that Bo-Katan is not Mandalorian when they first meet, because to him, she can't possibly be. But actually, the more he learns about her and other Mandalorians, the more he's happy to admit he's wrong. Something that neurotypicals often fail to do with grace.

I think season three more than proved that Din is not a zealot, he's actually incredibly compassionate, tolerant and accepting of difference. And there's a possibility that the reason for that somewhat sudden shift is that he could be autistic.

That's why, again, I think his open-mindedness is precisely why he is such a comforting character for neurodivergent people or indeed anyone who doesn't fit in with the norm... because it really does feel as though we could be our true selves around him and he wouldn't judge us or make us feel bad for being different.

Please please let me hug him.

solemn vows is the fic that got me into 9-1-1, like I saw a tiktok of yours back in 2022 when s6 was on and was intrigued so I read it in two days and got obsessed with the show and then after I finished the show I read it another two times and now 9-1-1 is my whole life so I just wanted to say thank you. Your fic has legitimately changed my life, as cheesy as that is, and I really love it.

All jokes aside, Solemn Vows is my baby and has been a weird way for me to actually process my own trauma through Eddie. 9-1-1 has brought me to friends and support in the most amazing way possible. I hope the continuation of part 4 does not disappoint 🩷💙💜
