Decided to give Dragon Age another try and the first character I meet COMPLETELY wins me over in a matter of seconds-

ALRIGHT okay I will attempt to explain this to the best of my ability, which is currently being held together by tape and coffee

so I have a long running post philippi story focusing on the octavian-antony divorce arc conflict and it's heavily dramatized and full of dead people. it's one part historical, one part my own invention, and one part fucking around with ideas (or the lack there of) in movies about antony and cleopatra. many of which are bad! however. there is a bad one that's actually good. like, I wouldn't recommend it except that I talk about it constantly.

it's the 1953 movie, Serpent of the Nile and I have not known peace since watching it. it's one of the more interesting takes on antony and cleopatra (TO ME), and more importantly: I'm obsessed with the plot point where antony helps lucilius escape egypt to warn octavian.

this scene is partially inspired by that! this scene is partially inspired by several things, but that's the one to mention bc I haven't published any of this story except for the periodic scene I've drawn for fun so listing the rest of it will not add to this experience and also I’m very sleepy right now

the egyptian wall backgrounds in the first page and the last page are of a tomb wall painting, the third page uses an illustration of the death of antony for shakespeare's antony and cleopatra, and on the second page is actually my own painting of antony and cleopatra after giambattista pittoni's painting of antony, cleopatra, and the famous pearl incident

additionally, that last page. the floor. that's a relief commemorating the battle of actium. I'd been reading about depictions of actium and it is. intriguing, especially since my first thought wrt to all of that is usually abt the bodies in the water and how they'll never be buried or antony's parthian fuck up setting the stage for all of this.

adding on to what ur saying, I'm a short girlie and I've dated tall guys in the past and I actually find it quite annoying, its logistically inconvenient. my bf now is 5ft7 and I like it, I like that we're always eye to eye and he feels so much closer to me haha. idk I just think you can romanticise being similar heights the same way you can romanticise a height gap and some short girlies are missing out

Another batch or Mr. Puzzles quick sketches. I kept forgetting to draw his side pocket in the last couple ones. Random character featured in the little comic-ish Live Interview is some version of doodlesona. Can’t guarantee the dialogue will be believable/sound in character for Puzzles because honestly I’m still working on understanding his talking style and when he sarcastically jokes around or when he chooses to be serious and drop performance act. But in the off chance you wanna read it goes from left to right with reading

while we all wait for me to finish cooking with the food so graciously provided to me by vert I thought it only appropriate to give an appetizer

so phil has betta fish type fins (mixed with leafy sea dragon but that's not the focus right now)

well betta fish fins are so big that they are actually exhausting for the fish to use and bettas regularly have to take breaks/naps, and the bigger the fins the more they have to rest

with phil having quite large betta type fins he gets exhausted extremely fast, and this is actually the reason he takes so many naps during the day

sooo imagine a time where forever is taking him out to explore the ocean and not really realizing how taxing it is on phil since his phils are relatively sleek and dont cause him problems. phil doesn't want to say anything because forever is so excited to show him the ocean so he just grits his teeth and bares with it

until he can't anymore and he's just so exhausted he kinda just stops and starts floating down to the sea floor. when forever turns around expecting to see philza there he is shocked to find phil in the sand passed out

he's super worried until he picks phil up and he sleepily blinks at forever and smiles asking if they could take a little break. forever of course scolds him for not asking earlier but is silenced when phil leans up and kisses him to shut him up, "you were so excited, I couldn't bring myself to ask"

forever carries them to some cover so they can rest

they wake up the next morning wrapped in eachothers arms
