i was just writing about these two a few days ago! i've thought about making a headcanon for their dynamic but i haven't worked out all the details yet. so, i wrote about their first official date instead.

since they met during a time of absolute chaos, they haven't had an official or normal date if you will. so one day, while taylor is off at work chris sets up their patio for a dinner date. i like to think chris can't cook to save his life so he prob asked nicky and mc for help.

so chris is in the kitchen trynna follow the notes nicky and mc gave him to the best of his ability. his timing is actually perfect though bc he finishes as soon as taylor gets home. they know smthn is up though bc they can smell the food in the air and chris actually has some in his hair.

chris gave taylor a peck on the cheek before he took their work bag from them and set it on the couch. as they giggled and asked why he was acting so different, chris practically pulled them to the patio door.

he looked back at them with a smile "close your eyes."

taylor chuckled "what?"

they didn't even have a chance to catch their breath when they walked into their home. orion sat nearby and waved their tail in the air before tilting their head.

"come on, babe. just do it please?" chris pleaded.

"okay, okay." taylor tried to suppress a smile and did as told.

chris opened the door and put his hands over theirs for good measure.

"watch your step." he guided them outside onto the patio. orion snaked between their legs and jumped onto a nearby pillow.

once taylor was in place, chris shut the door behind him.

"okay."

taylor opened their eyes and immediately clutched their hands to their chest.

string lights were tucked away in the vines of plants, illuminating the table he set for two. a covered dish sat on the table along with two plates, forks and glasses.

in the corner lay a blanket and a few thick pillows, one of which orion nestled himself on. a stack of books sat in the middle of the spread. a handful of fairy lights surrounded the comfy area chris had made.

taylor brought their hands up to their face "aww, chris." they glanced again at the little world he had made for the two of them.

"it's perfect." a tear pricked the corner of their eye as they turned to face him.

chris took his hands out of his pocket "are you crying?" he smiled while walking towards them.

"of course i'm crying!" taylor chuckled before lifting their glasses.

chris cupped their face with his hands "as long as you're happy." he wiped their tears away with his thumb.

taylor gazed into his eyes "i'll always be happy with you."

they inched toward him and kissed his lips softly. he pulled them in closer, indulging his desires. so this is what it's like, when they pulled back he admired the beauty before him.

a/n: the pictures above were the inspiration for this. ngl, i legit screamed "i'm crying!" when i wrote taylor saying "it's perfect" 🥺 anyway, taylor is v laidback so chris knew this would be perfect for a date. especially considering that they're under police protection bc of floyd. ohh the stacks of books! taylor doesn't know it yet but chris actually bought them a few new books. one of them is about myths, specifically fairies, bc i think taylor is into that kinda stuff. they freak out when they see it and practically smother chris in kisses 😪

it’s not like rooster didn’t know what you did for work, he just has never seen you in action or put much thought into it. at about three months into dating, rooster had just brought you onto base and shown you him in his element, so you only thought it was fair to bring him out on the boat with you for a day of work, too.

currently, you were in grad school and working on your own research while also helping your advisor gather data for his own ongoing project. all this to say, rooster did not expect you to be getting down and dirty as you chopped up fish and set up longlines to try to catch sharks for you to tag and gather data from.

as you began to pull in the lines you put out, you were ecstatic to yell, “shark on the line” and get to work. it was a juvenile shark so you brought the smaller shark on board, bradley’s jaw dropping as you expertly hauled what he thought to be a killing machine.

after watching you handle the first shark, he would be quick to start snapping pictures of you in action with the next shark you brought on board, or he would watch with bated breath as you were leaned over the boat to work with a larger shark still in the water.

later that night he would gather anyone who would listen and show them the pictures he took of you and the sharks that day, “see those teeth? she’s not even scared they’re gonna bite her. she’s my fearless girl.”

“bradley, you literally fly fighter jets for a living” you would insist, trying to shift the conversation off of you.

“let me hype you up, sweets.”

please i just want someone to think i’m a badass and hype me up and i also want them to look like a carbon copy of bradley bradshaw why is that so much to ask

but when he sees you doing something quite niche which requires an incredible wealth of knowledge and skill, he’s just so giddy.

anytime anyone asks what he does for a living he just shrugs it off, “i’m a pilot, but anyway let me tell you what my girl does!”
