I think this one will be short because honestly not much really took place for these parts? BUT I'll make it fun anyways!~

So we left off with Sitri wanting to speak to Levi about something....hmmm wonder what that is

Lol so Sitri has asked him nearly 100 times to go home and that's he's ready and this man still ain't said yes. I swear Leviathan is the most stubborn devil in Hell

He even calls him a child because Sitri is asking to go back to Gehenna and graduate. LEVI PLS

Levi is just telling him he's not ready to take another class over again and comes to find out that Sitri wrote a paper on tactics and it's being used in the cadet's manual for Hades LIKE

Sitri is literally like "damn just let me go home" in the nicest way possible. The fact that Levi is still arguing with him over it instead of straight up ignoring him or hanging him means something.

"I did everything for you" looking ass. Like Leviathan would be that toxic bf that tells you that you have no right to be upset because he's been paying your bills and taking care of you.

And Sitri has asked up to 99 times now and well, Leviathan has had it

Now see this right here had me be like ah, so he can admit why he's being stubborn. He wants Sitri to stay because he sees potential in him, he's loyal, calm and doesn't show arrogance. Qualities Leviathan likes in a subordinate is what I'm guessing here.

Now Foras, babes....jealousy is hot on you lol but I kinda also feel a certain way about how Levi took Sitri in and wants him so badly and yet Foras is right there. It's kinda like the "I'll always pine for him but he'll never notice me" trope and well damn Foras no wonder you decided to throw those feelings on MC instead.

Oh. Sitri's booty again. Lmaooooo makes me think of feral Sitri out there all caked up too and how no one could get close enough to notice.

But the devils of Gehenna have to have strong butts. Satan packs a powerful kick.

I imagine the necks of Hades devils are thick for similar reasons, their King uh...lol yeah

But anyways Sitri explains that it's not that he isn't grateful, nor is he that much of hater of Hades, he's just always been excited to return to Satan. Here in Hades he learned alot including how to speak and write. He has history in Hades and always will but...

And well 100 times does the charm ya'll because Leviathan finally let him go. Sitri was so happy he started crying and that surprised everyone.

damn is like no one emotional in Hades other than Barbatos with his sunshine happiness? Lol

AND with that the flashback of how they met is over. We are back in the present where Satan has dragged Sitri back to the pond where they met and it was no longer full of blood. He brought him back to help with the memories and extinguish the fire.

Whelp he done stabbed himself again.

But there's a purpose for it. And it seems to have worked once again by taking Sitri out of his 'feral' state and bringing him back to his calm and regulated self again.

It's so touching honestly that he's back to himself and is crying and remembering what happened. I feel sorry for Sitri getting so lost in himself that he was reduced to this state. All over a mistake and bearing the weight of it.

He's very stressed and needs more rest.

Leraye is such a good guy because like the entire time during this event he was very worried about Sitri's well being and even tried to help during the initial start of the fire. And now he's rushing up to him again to reassure someone he admires and I like that.

Also, Paimon is so sweet too. Giving Sitri encouragement as well!

AWH the Gehenna bois are coming to comfort Sitri and this is just amazing. Love our bois <3

And Ooop. Seems like Sitri has some fans in Gehenna from the devils as well. Like He's so loved it's very cute to me.

So while Sitri is getting his love and support, Satan ofc is passing out from blood loss and tells Ppyong to call a healer since he can't heal himself and well-

RIN AND LUCI?????????

So Lucifer was like "we are quite fond of Satan" and Ppyong was confused until Rin made his little debut here in the event. That's cute!!! So PB decided to throw him in here in his humanoid form.

Interesting. I wonder if he visits Gehenna with Luci in that form often and that's why no one really knows about him just yet.

Oh no Ppyong, he heard you...he's just very shy and could possibly piss himself if he were to introduce himself as your cousin. He was probably very thrilled to see Ppyong but again just didn't want to over exert himself.

He did say he wanted to go to Gehenna at first anyways during the Lucifer event. Part of his family is there!!!

And also, we get to see Lucifer's miracle healing powers in action! Which I'm glad because I was wondering how his healing powers work. It appears they are quite instant.

Sitri's body that was exhausted and growing cold warmed up and went back to normal state, Satan is fine just passed out. Ppyong tries to say that Lucifer's connection with Satan must be deep because of how they met buttttt not quite my little red lump friend.

There you have it folks. Lucifer being as straight-forward as always lol

But we also see here that he's observing Sitri and Satan sleeping like babies/children and he's contemplating why he finds them lovely. I'm guessing he always has these kind of thoughts because ya know getting used to being in Hell and not being an angel anymore has got to be a huge adjustment.

But it's okay Luci, you find them lovely because you just do I would like to think ^^ but ofc you being you....

I’ll always like Usopp because he reminds me that being a little fish in a big pond can be hard and debilitating, but you can still make the most of it.

I think at times people get so caught up in the fact that they’re not like everyone around them in terms of being more educated, prettier, or whatever the h*ll else people long for, that you can’t see what you’ve got.

People might say that whatever Usopp has accomplished is because of stupid luck or an a**pull. But I think people like that are selling themselves short. I don’t know anything about those haters, but maybe it’s privilege or something personal…but seriously, sometimes sh*t doesn’t have to make sense. It’s a personal journey. And a hard journey doesn’t look the same for everyone.

Usopp stands a chance like everyone else does, and more.

Usopp represents the part of myself I sell too short. He makes me realize that although I FEEL like everyone’s gotten a head start and I’m still at the starting line, I gotta realize that I deserve my feats too.

The Grand Line and New World aren’t for everyone. So, if Usopp’s still alive and kicking, with a hefty sum of a bounty under his belt, and a lot of sniping. Then I’d say he’s a rock star.

Usopp makes me realize unconditional love is real too.

i feel like 2gether is like the latest someone could have started to really understand my whole journey, if that makes sense. you see, i am here since 2018 and my first bl was sotus. to take it further, my first ever live blog was guardian and my first live blog of a currently airing series was love by chance. so i've been almost through it all and i just remember what we had to deal with (/neg) in the past so vividly. and there was still some of that early bl feel to 2gether, which is just completely lost to time now. and that's a good thing, to be clear. but talking about those first bl steps is definitely one of those "man, you won't get it, you just had to be there" sort of situations.

msp and ofts are in my top five currently, semantic error and cherry magic are in my top fifteen if not top ten. (i have not seen cherry magic thailand, however). and love for love's sake was really good, although not necessarily my cup of tea.

also don't worry, we all have a kind of love/hate relationship with futs. and the love part is mostly about the behind the scenes things and what (and who) the series established in the gmmtv ecosystem rather than anything else tbh. as for bbs, well... i am a known hater, i'm pretty sure.

I have to say it's a relief to read your thoughts about boc,the casts, pond, apo and mile. In the fandom peoples tend to see things in black and white and if you don't think mile&apo are close you're a hater but that's not it. I have learn with years in fandoms and working behind the scenes of industry that's it isn't what happen on the screen ( interviews, events ) that matters but what happen bts. And what's happening is clear right now it's not being a hater it's just observation. One thing about all fandoms of kp is that NOBODY like pond ( he sucks so normal ) so I understand that it's hard to accept that your fav is in relationship with him, adore him and AGREE with him and what's he doing. Tho, it's better to accept than being in denial I think. The fandom really see apo as a victim of pond that doesn't deserve him when it's the opposite. It's like they're afraid of what that say about him if he indeed love pond/boc and is involved in projects bts. I noticed when B was talking about his 2023 serie with bb he turned to Apo for affirmation about it and apo talk about it like it was his project, like a director. If he isn't on screen for the news projects this year he'll be offscreen working with pond I have no doubt. Apo said it best in the comments of his ig he know what he's doing where he is going and with who. He knows everything before anyone, tbh I don't see him as a artist under boc to me he is at the top, same place as pond. And whatever he want he gets. He said this summer he wanted to work international and now boc has a international serie coming. They are a team. He has P by his side but he also the artist manager (gift) as best friend so he is happy and will have a lot of work no doubts. Now as you mentionned in the past, right now apo is in the high because relationship and work is new, it's exciting but if the relationships fail I'm afraid this is gonna be hell on every part. Hell because a fail relationship hurt but if it's fail and it's with bad feelings but forced to see the person everyday for work it can become a nightmare. I lived it and saw it from others. While I'm sad mile doesn't seem to have anyone in his corner in boc, he separate work from life and the advantage is that relationships drama should not find him. Even in friendships mile talk to everyone but he doesn't stick to anyone in particular so even friendships dramas should not be a things. This is by the way why mile would be a good ceo for boc. He doesn't have personal feelings ( bad or good ) involved for anyone and this is where pond sucks. He mix private feelings with his work and doesn't treat the artists the same. He has a too big ego he is petty he doesn't know when to back off, treat fans like shit, he simply isn't professional.

Pond has acted in random ways which I raise my eyebrows at, some quite unprofessional ways. But the cast seem to be happy with being part of boc with him at the helm. Theyve had an incredible year with the success of KP. I'm glad things are going well for Apo and Mile being part of that.

Like you say I'm pleased that Apo has found a home and good friendships there. I remember him having an expressed desire to work behind the scenes or in writing/directing and I think he has that opportunity to do that at BOC. So yes I think imo he could be in management there? Just my guess. Hes had 10 years experience in the acting industry so that would help too.

Like I said to the previous anon Apo has close friendships in boc and only he knows what he is to certain ones.

We're just here to witness great actors hopefully doing good works. I think we might find out later this month what's in store?

Cherished, beloved, adored. These are your typical descriptions of Rosie , the purple cat. She was a very popular pop artist, ranking in tens of thousands of views and listens to her songs every day. It was a simple fact, the cat was loved by many people. Now of course, she wasn’t as big as K.K. Slider. She was more of an “underrated artist” in a way. Still, she had her dedicated fans, adoring fans and even a fare share of creepy fans. However, something she didn’t have that much of, was haters. She had rarely seen people hate on her or her music. It was sort of an anomaly since she thought she would get more by now.

Yet, somehow, she managed to live on an island where one of her avid haters lived.

Chichi Ryder. A name which brought a frown to Rosies face. She was the island representative of I/N. Yet her description of the island was very misleading. She and Tom Nook advertised I/N as a nice island, full of support and relaxation. However, Rosie thought the opposite. Everyday, she would walk outside and see Chichi running around talking to everyone. Yet once she got to Rosie, she would scoff and run off. Rosie felt targeted, she felt outcasted. She didn’t have a lot of reasons to stay, she could move out easy as that. But there was one thing that kept her from packing her bags and leaving.

And that was you.

Y/N L/N. You were the one who found her on that deserted island. Running up to her, asking for an autograph, it was pretty obvious that you were a fan. She found you to be very adorable and sweet. And so, when you asked if she could move in to your island, she happily accepted. That day she went home, stomach full of butterflies. However, her momentary joy soon faded once she realised who ran the island. Not you, but Chichi. Not only that but she soon found out something even WORSE! The fact if the matter was, you were not only friends with Chichi, no, you were in fact DATING Chichi!

This absolutely broke Rosie. She had been genuinely interested in you, so to find out that someone like Chichi was not only the island’s representative but also your girlfriend, it stung. It was like salt in the wound, someone punching her while she’s down, kicking sand in her eyes after destroying her sandcastle. Let’s just say, she was bitter about it. But she told herself she wouldn’t let it get to her. No, she was above this sort of drama. People like Chichi were simple worms trying to get a bit of light from her spotlight after being downcast in the darkness for so long. She wouldn’t let it get to her.

“Rosie!!!” She knew that voice. She would recognise that voice anywhere. It was the voice that would bring her the little happiness she felt while living on I/N. It was you. “HIIIIII Y/N!!! What’s up!” Rosie exclaimed as she looked over to you. You were running towards her, a pep in your step, looking very excited. Once you were near her you gave her a big hug before taking out something from your pockets. It was a gift! Neatly wrapped in pink wrapping paper and swiftly tied together with a cute little bow in a darker shade of pink. She looked at the present in amazement before looking over at you. You extended your arms, holding out the present for Rosie. “For me?” She asked, a soft smile gracing her lips. You enthusiastically nodded as you gave her a wide smile. Rosie happily took it, staring down at it for a few seconds. It looked so pretty, she didn’t want to ruin it by unwrapping the paper. But curiosity and temptation was shaking her to the core with anticipation. She wanted to rip it open. Tearing into the paper, destroying its beautiful exterior. But she couldn’t do that, she had to hide away her animalistic instincts from you. If she didn’t... you might hate her...

So she carefully unwrapped the present. Having to forcefully push down her want to rip it into shreds. Looking inside she saw a cute pink bow. Hey eyes when wide and she let out an audible gasp as she looked at the present in her hands. It was beautiful. “Oh my god! Are you like, for sure I can have this?” She felt herself getting all flustered, you knew her style so well. “Of course! You’re my friend! And I got this just for you!” This statement made Rosie choke up. It felt like her breath was caught dead still in her throat. Thrashing to escape but ultimately stuck. Friend. That word conflicted her. On one hand, she felt the affection of you actually considering her a friend. She felt very accepted and loved while she was with you. But on the other hand... friends?! Is that all you’ll ever be??? Just two gal pals? She didn’t want that. She wanted to kiss your beautiful face. Embrace you, feel you soft skin against her fur. She didn’t want to be friends, she wanted something more, she wanted for you to be hers. And only hers.

“Thank you Y/N! I love... it... I love it so much!” And with that she put the bow on and gave you a big hug. You felt so nice in her arms. Right where you belonged.

“Sweetkins!” The tender moment was interrupted by the one person Rosie DIDN’T want intervening. Chichi fucking Ryder. But of course she of all people would interrupt you two. Breaking the hug, you looked up at your girlfriend and quickly letting go of Rosie all together. You seemed to get a little more nervous. She embraced you lovingly, lifting you off the ground and spinning you around for a few seconds before finally putting you back down again. You planted a kiss on her lips and Rosie had to resist the urge to puke. Chichi turned from you and looked over at Rosie. “Oh... hello Rosie...” Chichi said as she gave Rosie a stern look. She hid behind a smile, but it was easy to see all the hate and resentment behind her eyes. “Hello Chichi, how are you?” Rosie said, almost in a sickeningly sweet tone. “Hmph. I’m doing fine. Anyways, Y/N! I wanted to tell you that I can’t make it to tonights movie night” She said as she turned to you, a small frown forming on her face.

This made you sulk as you looked at her with puppy eyes. “Oh don’t do that sweetie...you know how stressful it’s been.” “I know I know. But it’s just... you never have time for me anymore...” Rosie couldn’t help but smile to herself. One thing that made this whole situation better was the fact that yours and Chichis relationship wasn’t the most stable at this time around. She was hoping you two would break up soon.

“I know sweetheart. The island rep work has just been a lot lately...” you let out a big sigh at this. “Okay, I get it...” in response to this, Chichi graced Y/N’s hand slightly. “But hey, I have time now. So why don’t we do something?” Y/N’s eyes lit up as she said this. And so, Chichi grabbed ahold of her partners hand and ran off. Just before the three departed, Rosie could swear she saw ChiChi shoot her a glare.

God she hated Chichi!!! Such a disgusting and hateful individual did not DESERVE to be with someone like you! She wish she could just disappear!!! Then she could have you for herself. Yeah. All to herself... with nothing to take you away from her...

“Why do you like her so much Y/N? She’s just so...annoying” Chichi told her you once you two were far away enough from Rosie. She had her arm wrapped around your waist as you were calmly walking throughout the island. You frowned at your girlfriend as she said this. “Chichi, we agreed on this. I would get to invite 3 villagers while you got to invite the other 7. Why do you have to question my choices? I don’t judge you for the islanders that you choose...” This statement made Chochi roll her eyes. “I’m not judging you Y/N. I’m just wondering what you find appealing with her. God you don’t need to be so dramatic.” You hated when she did this. She would always do stuff like this! She was always so insensitive to your feelings and every time you would bring this issue up with her she would ignore it. “I just like her okay! She’s really sweet and she’s given me more support then you’ve ever-“ You stopped yourself mid sentence, realising what you were saying. “What? What had she done Y/N?” Chichis voice was filled with spite. Your gaze was fixated to the ground, refusing to look into her eyes. “Look at me Y/N!” As she said this she grabbed ahold of your chin and forcefully yanked your head to her so that you would face her. “That’s better. Now, what did she do?” You were thrashing in your grip but it only tightened as you did this. “....nothing...she has done nothing for me...”

1 am. That’s how late Chichi stayed up to terraform the island that night. Rosie had to admit, she worked very hard on the island. Too bad after she’s done there would be no one left to terraform or decorate this place. As she approached, Chichi turned her head around to see who was there. “Oh...it’s you...what are you doing here?” She turned back around to her work, she was currently making a heart pond. “I wanted to discuss something with you.” When Rosie said this, Chichi let out an audible laugh. “Oh yeah? I don’t care what you have to say Rosie! I don’t care about you in the slightest.” Rosie walked closer to her, her face was dead serious. “It’s about Y/N.” This made Chichi stop what she was doing completely.

“....what about 'em” Rosie was now coming even closer, backing Chichi up into the two curves at the top of the heart, effectively trapping her. “I’m gonna cut to the chase Chichi.” As Rosie said this she put her hands in the pockets of her dress. “I know what you did to Y/N.” Chichis eyes went wide as her breath hitched up. “I...I haven’t done anything to-“ “bullshit! You know damn well what you did! I know what you did this afternoon, I know what you’ve done when you two were alone, or at least, when you thought you were alone...” Rosie was now coming even closer to the girl, and chichi was backing up slightly. Seemingly unsure of what the cat was doing. “I know every horrible thing you did to her...but like I said. Let me CUT-“

Chichi could feel a sharp pain in her chest, crimson red blood pouring out of the freshly formed wound. She wanted to scream but Rosie tackled her to the ground, or more accurately, half of her body to the ground. The upper part of her body was now under water as Rosie sat on the lower half of her body, forcing her head under water. Chichi thrashed and struggled, trying to get out. The heart ponds water was slowly becoming redder and redder as Chichis struggles became weaker and weaker. And after about one minute, the struggling stopped, just like the bubbles coming out from Chichi did. But Rosie was a careful cat. She made sure to give one or two extra stabs to the gut, not just to make sure she was dead, but truth be told, she was really enjoying it.

Now to get to work.

Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. That of course was your breathing pattern as you were sleeping. Rosie on the other hand was barely able to control her heavy breaths as she looked at your peaceful form. Not only because of how breathtaking you were but also because of the adrenaline that was still coursing through her veins. Maybe...maybe if she just. Rosie took her paw and stroked your cheek slightly, caressing it with her thumb and feeling her pulse slow down. That is. Until you started to let out a sting of groans and you opened your eyes slightly. It was still very dark and judging by the look of your face you might not have realised that it was Rosie.

“....Chichi? What are you doi-IMMHHPH!!!” Rosie has draped a cloth over your mouth. She knew that she had to do this, it was the one thing she came here to do. But she had her fun now, time to get to work. She pressed the cloth against your mouth and nose harder, you were struggling and panicking. Meaning you are going to breathe in more and more as you hyperventilate. Your eyes looked at hers as they filled with tears and pain. You probably thought she had betrayed you, that she was going to kill you or something. Silly you, of course she wouldn’t! She loved you! ...she had avoided doing something this drastic, she had hoped that you and Chichi would have broken up by now but you seemed to be to scared of her to do anything. And she simply could not let her sweet sweet baby go through any more abuse than they’ve already gone through. My god was it gonna be great to see your face when she showed you her surprise! Whether your screams would be of joy or horror, she was gonna get immense pleasure.

She had tried to act normal around you for so much time. She had tried to get a normal relationship with you. But temptation ate at her, it consumed all sense of logic or reason inside of her. Until all that was left was a hungry animal. A hungry animal that craved for one and only one thing.

You.

“Yoyhoo...time to wake up sweety...Y/N? Could you please open your eyes for me? Could you do that?” You heard a distance voice call out to you. Was that Rosie. You tried to open your eyes, slightly wincing at the newfound light that found its way into your vision. You tried to rub your eyes but once you lifted your arms you noticed two things. They felt heavier and they made a little jingle as you lifted them. What in gods name... you tried to force your eyes open only to feel something grab your cheek. It was a soft paw, stroking your left cheek slowly in a loving manner. After a few seconds you finally managed to open your eyes just to see Rosie, sitting besides you.

“Oh you’re awake now! Great!” She said as she clasped her hands together! Looking around your surroundings you quickly became horrified with what you saw. You were chained up in what appeared to be a basement of some sort. But the true horror was right in front of you. Rosie, the cat you loved so dearly, had blood all over her. And a deranged look in her eyes. She looked like she hadn’t slept in god knows how long and her breathing was very spastic. “R-Rosie?! What the hell are you doing?! Why am I here?! Who’s blood is that?!” You citied out, the strong feeling of dread growing stronger and stronger.

“Oh why my sweet little Y/N! You’re here because I’ve had enough. Enough of watching her abuse you! Enough of waiting by the sidelines! Enough of letting her play around with something that’s not hers...” Rosies voice got more and more serious as she spoke. Voice dripping with venom. She stared off at the wall for a few seconds before looking back to you. Her face now completely normal. “Oh! That reminds me! I almost forgot your gift!” Rosie said cheerfully as she hopped off into a different room for maybe about two minutes, leaving you all alone. You could feel yourself starting to hyperventilate. You had never told Rosie about what Chichi did to you, so how did she know?! Did she stalk you!? It could very well be possible since she kidnapped you!

But you didn’t get much time to think as you heard the sound of footsteps approach you. Rosie was now back in the room, holding a present box. It was wrapped in pink wrapping paper and a darker pink ribbon. Just like the one you gave her yesterday...Rosie looked at you with anticipation. “Go on open it!” You didn’t know what you should do...the present had an thick oozing smell lingering around you. It made you gag. It smelled like something and died in there. But with the last drop of courage left in your body, you took the present and started to unwrap it. God what a mistake that was. Once you opened the box you let out a scream and dropped the present on the floor. Out of the box, fell a heart, splatting in the ground as it let out a disgusting sound. You looked trembled at the horrific scene in front of you.

“What the fuck!” That was the only thing you could say. Rosies face turned from a happy excited smile to a sad and disappointed smile. “Do you not like it? But I spent so much effort carving it out for you! Whatever...maybe you’ll be happier to know who it belonged to.” Rosie said, walking closer to you. You backed up, trying to get away only to be met by the cold wall against your back. As Rosie leaned closer to you, you felt tears well up in your eyes simply because of the fear you felt. “Can you guess?” She asked, now a mere inches away from your face. “N-No...ple-ease...I don’t-“ “oh Y/N. It’s Chochis heart of course! When you gave me that bow I thought, how could I possibly repay you. And so I though, what better way then to give you my heart! Sadly, I can’t really do that, so I had to settle for the next best thing. Chichi! Now she’ll never lay a finger on you again.”

Your trembling was now growing more violent. What is wrong with this cat, no, this monster! She killed your girlfriend! Sure you hated Chichi down to your core but you didn’t want her to die!

“Why?” Why was the only question that came into your head. “Why me? Why her?! Why would you do this! What did I do to deserve this!?” Tears were now pouring out from your eyes. Rosie simply dishes you as she crawled you next to you, wrapping her arms around you. “Because I love you...I wanna spend my life with you Y/N. You don’t understand how unbearable life alone in the spotlight has been. I wanna share that spotlight with you by my side! Chichi was in the way. So I disposed of her. But you don’t have to worry about her...”

𝕀𝕞𝕒𝕘𝕚𝕟𝕖 | Azula is slowly healed from the past thanks to therapy and the Gaang, well a special Water Tribe warrior from the team, Sokka.

𝔸𝕦𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕣'𝕤 ℕ𝕠𝕥𝕖 | I wanted to create a little back story first, just so you can feel the connection with these two!

𝔼ℕ𝕁𝕆𝕐

【𝕊𝕝𝕠𝕨 ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖】

The newly crowned Fire Lord knocked at a door he recognized all too well. If this situation were on different circumstances, Zuko would be shivering down to his feet, but times have changed and people did as well.

“Azula?” Zuko whispered into the door, “It’s me, Zuzu… Can I come in?”

“Can you?” He could imagine his sister smiling teasingly.

Zuko rolled his eyes and twisted the door handle, “Yes, I may.”

He was met with Azula’s back. Her face was contorted in disgust, as she failed at another attempt of styling her hair into a bun. 

Zuko walked up to her, careful not to disrupt her, but after hearing many of her disappointed grunts, he reassured, “You don’t have to look your best for them, just feel your best.”

Azula finally turned to him and she nodded. She set down the ribbon and comb in hand. “Well then, is it time?” Her voice was low and unsteady, already overflowing with anxiety. 

He simply nodded. Zuko offered her his arm and Azula looped hers in. She sighed into his shoulder.

Together the siblings walked down the hallway.

“Brother, where are we going?” Azula tried to catch his eye.

Zuko just smiled, quietly relaying a message of, “Just trust me.” 

Azula stopped in her tracks, unintentionally gripping onto Zuko’s arms tight. The siblings arrived at the courtyard. There were sudden memories of Azula’s childhood that plagued her. 

There was too much. 

Too much that was said and done.

Her brother noticed the tears there were threatening to slip down her face, “We can turn around now if you want, Azula…”

She shook her head, deep down she knew this was the only way to release her from her past.

The siblings slowly approached a group who had relaxed features, unbeknownst of the two approaching. Aang and Katara’s backs were stretched out on the green grass. They pointed at the clouds, occasionally whispering what the fluff of white resembled. Ty Lee taught Sokka and a frustrated Mai how to weave a flower crown out of dandelions. While Toph and Suki quietly sat near a pond and fed the turtle ducks crumbs of bread.

Sokka was the first one who heard the approaching footsteps, he craned his neck up. A sudden wave of heat washed over him. “Oh, no…”

The Gaang welcomed Azula with open arms, with many tears that spilled from each person, of course

Every weekend they’d visit different Nations to help villages and towns to recover from the war, just simple civil duties! 

One weekend, the Gaang flew to Ba Sing Se and they decided to form into groups of two to quickly finish their tasks, so they could check out the zoo Aang created by accident afterwards. They promised that they’d meet at the palace at sunset.

Of course, Azula and Sokka were stuck together

𝔸𝕕𝕧𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖𝕤 𝕚𝕟 𝔹𝕒 𝕊𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕊𝕖

It was quiet at first, bluntly said, just AwKWArd

Sokka decided to TRY and break the ice, “So, uh… what is it like being in the palace?”

Azula smirked and rolled their eyes, “You’ve been in the palace, dummy.”

He thought, “This is gonna be a long day.”

Their task was to find Bosco who seemed to leave the palace

“HOW DOES A BEAR LEAVE UNNOTICED??” Sokka smacked his forehead as the pair traversed the streets of the market.

Azula giggled, much to Sokka’s surprise.

Azula liked to be around Sokka, she felt normal, like she missed out on all of this during her years of being an enraged Princess.

Sokka liked to make Azula laugh.

That’s how simple it was.

They have such differing personalities and upbringings that it kept their blooming friendship interesting

“So you’re telling me that you’ve NEVER dipped fried potato sticks into a cacao shake???” Sokka’s eyes widened in utter surprise.

“uhM… That sounds kinda gross, Sokka.” Azula remarked.

“Can’t be an hater unless you’ve tried it, babe,”

Azula was caught off guard by the nickname and Sokka was too. They just stared at each other for a bit.

Sokka blurted, “S-Sorry! That just came out-”

She looked to the side and said under her breath, “I- uh, don’t mind.” Her cheeks flushed just enough for Sokka to take notice.

TRAINING SESSIONS ARE INTENSE

Sokka teaches Azula how to fight without firebending.

“Ugh,” Sokka groaned as he felt the stone pavement hit his back. 

Azula rested her knees on either side of his thighs and leaned in. “Y’know I've been kicking ass since I was a child,” she breathed on Sokka’s lips. 

Sokka leaned in and cradled her jaw, pulling her in until their noses touched, “Can I-”

“AZULA! IT’S DINNERTIME-” Zuko calls and was taken aback from the sight (although not surprised). He smirked, “Looks like you’re already eating good,” Zuko smirked and simply walked away.

Sokka is coronated as the Chief of the Southern Water Tribe

Azula is sure as hell there ! 

And they accidentally revealed their relationship when Chief Sokka bounced up to Princess Azula like a little dog and gave her a massive hug. They both froze when they realized that the whole Gaang was watching.

Katara looked at them confused, but soon smiled supportively, “Can Princess Katara get a hug too, Chief Sokka?”

(Azula gets so damn cold easily somehow in the Southern Water Tribe?? So there's a lot of warm hugs and tea pouring from Iroh!)

Aang begrudgingly hands over some gold coins to Toph when she won the bet of who kissed who first, it was Azula that initiated.

Zuko looks at Aang and Toph, “Did you too really have a bet about those two?”

They nodded.

“I want in on the next one.”

(Eventually, Katara joins.

Thing is, she’s best friends with Mai and Ty Lee, so she’s filled in with all the deets 

She’s won big bucks, but she’s too nice so Katara treats the Gaang for some food.)

Honestly, the whole relationship is just like between a cat (aka Azula) being teased and loved by a hyper pup (aka Sokka)

Sokka and Azula’s relationship is usually a relaxed one, not as easy going as with Suki, but they still poke fun!

Their’s is filled with much more deeper and emotional feelings. With what they’ve both been through, it’s given

They’re there for each other when someone needs to be comforted during nightmare filled nights 

It ranged from what the Nations would look like if Ozai became the Phoenix King to Ursa returning to Azula, then her mother neglecting her. While Sokka was solely based on one of his friends or family suffering due to him

They’re understanding of each other

Sometimes, Azula still has her outbursts, but Sokka is very understanding and allows to give her time until she wants to talk it out 

Sokka seems to always carry the weight of others and his own, so Azula teaches him from personal experience that it’s okay to rely on friends and family for help + love

𝔼𝕟𝕕𝕟𝕠𝕥𝕖 | I’m so thankful for this request! I had a difficult time connecting these two characters, but as I wrote more, I learned more about the characters true intentions as to why they'd choose that S/O. I was able to allow these characters to grow from off screen!

May I ask - why Ozai likes Ursa more than Azula? Keep in mind you're not the only author who choose this portrayal and I'm as confused by it as Azula is

backtracked on it, to a fault, merely turning Ozai into someone who gives zero shits about anyone ever. Which means he gives the same amount of shits for Azula and Ursa. His Ozai is surprisingly fair on that front!

Alright, all jokes aside, the main reason many of us interpret Ozai’s relationship with Ursa as a little more complex than originally presented, it’s because of this shot:

That’s the same fountain-pond-thingy  where Ursa had been sitting in earlier flashbacks of that episode.

It’s such a small, simple moment that I suppose most Ozai haters would say it amounts to nothing, yet it actually speaks lengths about his character: why would Ozai stand here, melancholically, before a fountain that is no longer functioning (because in his screenshot, it’s not), a place where his wife used to sit, right on the morning after she left? This is a guy who literally just got EVERYTHING he ever wanted. He is Fire Lord now, thanks to the scheming and conniving and wicked plotting that took place over the previous day. He finally overcame his father and brother’s shadows! So… why would our first shot of a man who finally succeeded at everything he wanted be not a shot of said man rejoicing in triumph, but a shot of a man who is, by all effects, in mourning?

This suggests that Ozai may have cared about Ursa. The fact that we don’t see them angry, arguing or bickering through this episode also suggests that their relationship, while far from a lovey-dovey happy mushy thing, is that of two people who at the very least coexist peacefully. We don’t see any direct interactions between them, so yes, it’s possible they were far more troubled than the episode suggests (I, personally, interpret it that way), since everything in Zuko Alone is seen through Zuko’s eyes. But IF Ursa and Ozai were in such a bad place, to the point where he would have even convinced her to leave as he does in the Search… why would he do this? Why would he stand by that fountain as though honoring Ursa somehow?

All this being said, I personally find Ursa a much more interesting and dynamic character if her relationship with Ozai isn’t that of a victim and his abuser, but of a woman with such sharp wit that, even without being a bender, ergo, representing no physical threat to her husband, still wielded such authority that she could keep this fierce, savage man in check, capable of respecting her when she’s around, and even honoring her when she leaves. I have said it before, and I’ll say it again: in my very humble opinion and headcanon, if Ozai ever got close to genuinely loving someone, it was Ursa.

As ever, disclaimer necessary: this does NOT mean Ozai was entitled to Ursa’s love in return, this does NOT mean Ursa is to blame for the man Ozai becomes, I’m not implying this is a situation where “love” would have absolutely saved Ozai from being the man we know him to be. While I do believe that if he had chosen her above his ambitions he might have been ~better~, it was Ozai himself who had to make that choice. I don’t blame Ursa for how her relationship with Ozai turns out, whether in canon or comics or Gladiator, NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT. Relationships like theirs are complex, difficult and not straightforward: both characters have faults, and both deserve to be held accountable for them. So Ozai deserves being held accountable for sacrificing everything for power, and that’s that.

But finally, getting into your question… why would Ozai like Ursa better than Azula?

Personally, in the way I want to portray them through flashbacks, it’s because Ursa makes NOTHING easy for Ozai, since day one. She isn’t trying to please him, she isn’t just a doormat waiting for him to stomp all over her: she has demands of her own, the first of them respect, and Ozai finds himself giving it, even if he doesn’t quite reason with why he’s doing it. He wants her to care about him, probably as starved for affection as his daughter is later on too, and whenever he made her happy, even if just a little, he would have felt a sense of accomplishment that was absolutely unprecedented for him.

Zuko canonically has described his family by saying they were “happy”, at some point. While no one can say for sure what time period he refers to (it could be the happy times ended when his mother vanished, or perhaps a little before that), I’ve always assumed he wouldn’t have seen Ozai and Ursa as they were in the Zuko Alone flashback and thought “wow my parents are so happy, look at their poker faces! That’s happiness!” So, I believe they actually were happy once, enough to make each other smile or laugh. There’s a simple scene in the first comic trilogy where they’re at the beach with their children, simply sitting together at the sand while their kids play in the sand and water: who’s to say those aren’t the kinds of moments Zuko refers to as happiness?

Compare that to the Ozai we meet in canon: do we ever see him happy in Book 3 about anything but his advancements and achievements? His smiles are always smirks. Every situation he’s in, he’s merely basking in becoming more powerful and fulfilling more of his often-pointless ambitions. While he seems to respect Azula to a fault (she interrupts Zuko in a war meeting and she gets no Agni Kai as punishment, Ozai is Mr. Hypocrisy Incarnate), did we ever see anything that suggested genuine affection for her? While I write him as directly involved in her training, canonically Azula has been trained by Lo and Li, two non-benders. Even a tiny canonical hint at how Ozai may have been involved in helping Azula reach her full potential as a bender could be, to a fault, interpreted as him caring for her a little more than he originally planned to, being invested in her growth for what it is and not only for what advantages it offers him. But instead, the entire extent of what we know about their relationship is that he sends Azula on missions, basically in the capacity of a military agent or leader: as much as this allows Azula to show she’s a badass, does it show Ozai cares about her? Do we have a single hint that he actually is emotionally invested in his daughter?

AT BEST… the lack of punishment for having lied to him about Aang’s death can be, somewhat, interpreted as unwillingness on Ozai’s part to punish Azula too harshly for a huge mistake. Even then, by the finale he outright yells at her before offering her an important “mission” that he can only entrust to her. And that’s their canon relationship, isn’t it? Missions, missions and missions. He hands her missions, she delivers. The consequences aren’t too steep if she doesn’t, but he might even yell at her if she tests his patience too much.

Basically, my take on Ozai respected Ursa, even though Ursa has no power of her own to threaten him beyond her disapproval and displeasure. Because she earned that respect, she was the only person he NEARLY considered an equal. He was willing to surrender if she was adamant about certain things (this is no spoiler, since chapter 9 we all know that, in Gladiator, Azula never learned swordsmanship with Piandao because Ursa didn’t want her to, and to Azula’s eternal outrage, Ozai gave in to Ursa’s demands, just like that!), he was willing to listen to her opinions on whatever was happening in the world, he would argue with her and they’d have disagreements because they were both stubborn as hell. All of this means Ursa’s opinions, beliefs and decisions mattered to Ozai, enough that he would sometimes back down and let her have her way.

Azula, however, has been his pet project, the perfect child, for as long as she has lived. He raised her to be his heir, to uphold his legacy, molded her after himself (even if the result wasn’t at all like him :’D), and Azula dreamt of following on his footsteps for a long time (until her own equal shows up and his influence serves to change the way she sees the world…). Azula, then, is his most loyal ally, and Ozai takes her for granted because of that. She will always be on her side because he raised her to be, and that’s that. 

Ozai’s first blast of reality that shows him Azula is NOT unbreakable, that she is NOT undefeatable and that he shouldn’t send into danger willy-nilly? It’s in the White Lotus Attack arc, where he finds her terribly sick in her room and she’s mortified that he’d see her that way. That was the first moment an actual surge of fatherly instincts came over Ozai since Azula was a very tiny kid.

Azula’s rebellions against Ozai in Part 1 are relatively small, and she’s constantly terrified to her very bone whenever she opposes him at something, as in her birthday. Ozai was displeased by it, and she was troubled and wondering how to improve things between them again later on. Pleasing her father is a behavior ingrained in her head from an early age. She wanted to make sure she was on his good side, even if she was growing much more aware of his mistakes, his shortcomings and everything wrong about him by then. Not being on good terms with her father was terrifying for her in those days, terrifying in ways it never was for Ursa: in Azula’s case, it’s learned behavior acquired mainly by seeing, through Zuko, what happens to someone Ozai considers unreliable and disposable. She absolutely doesn’t want to be that.

But it’s not until Part 2 that Azula outright starts to take a stand against her father. And yes, she was terrified too in the Festivals, but she went toe-to-toe with him in front of all his military leaders. Then she took his attempt to punish her, by forcing her to give a public speech she wasn’t ready for, and spun it on itself to both present herself as her father’s soooo loyal daughter while providing the entirety of the Fire Nation with new values to abide by in regards of how they treated slaves and honorary citizens. Ozai’s reaction that time was a petty, small revenge… but he actually was amused by what she’d done. And THAT… that was actual respect from Ozai, for once. He saw his daughter could stand up to him, and get away with it safely. Suddenly she wasn’t just his obedient child-soldier, which was what he had taken for granted that she was: she was a potential leader in her own right. At this point, their relationship changes.

That change takes a turn for the worse after she fails to convince him to carry forward her slavery laws project, and then she discovers Seethus’ assassination spree. At this point, the falling out between them is absolutely dreadful. Ozai doesn’t attack Azula physically, however: he argues with her, snaps back and does his best to convince her that he’s in the right, but she’s 100% certain of the opposite. By this point, Azula is behaving a lot more like Ursa than she ever had before: she defies him, stands up to him, and unlike her mother, she does have literal firepower to back her up. 

Point being: AZULA BECOMES A THREAT.

And while they’ve managed to kind of establish a low-key peace after that (though as you may imagine, this new arc is yet more trouble for the relationship between the Princess and her father), Ozai still sees Azula as a threat ever since. He’s willing to trust she won’t do anything too far out of hand, not as long as he makes enough concessions for her, not if he abides by her advice once in a while… but that makes her no less of a threat anyhow. He needs to make her a reliable ally again, and he can’t do that by wielding his authority over her head anymore. Not when she has already shown herself perfectly willing to ignore it.

And that means he respects her in an entirely different way than how he respected Ursa: he didn’t have any reason, Gladiator-wise, to think Ursa wasn’t on his side, they had disagreements but she was his wife and she supported him through thick and thin even in some REALLY shady stuff. Right now, Azula is starting to look like the entire opposite of that: she was the one he raised to be his wholehearted supporter. The one person who would only ever treat HIM as the hero, the winner, the good guy. And now she’s changed her mind about him, he knows it, and he’s worried about what that entails.

It’s ironic that it’s because of Azula’s rebellious bouts, and the cracks in her mask of the perfect daughter, that Ozai’s bottled-up affection for his daughter emerges. I won’t say that somewhere in the depths of his dark heart he loves her… but I will say that every time Azula rises up against him, he sees some of Ursa in her and he automatically takes her more seriously because of it.

Meanwhile, whenever Zuko stands up to him, he basically feels like it’s an ant shouting at the boot that’s ready to crush it. On a REALLY subconscious level, Zuko seems to embody Ozai’s weaknesses, the side of himself he would much rather pretend doesn’t exist. He despises Zuko for it all, because he’s a reminder of his own shortcomings and failures. And even when Zuko tries to rebel, Ozai continues to treat him as a weakling, unworthy of respect, that only warrants being crushed. He’d never be able to act like this with Azula or Ursa.

So, why would I say he cares more about Ursa, or that she’s his actual #1 while Azula is #2? Because Ursa was never a tool, never a source of self-fulfilment: she was someone who he wanted to impress, whose respect he craved and he offered her his own. He valued her, everything she offered him, even if things between them became complicated for an array of reasons. Ursa has always been a sort of blind spot for Ozai, the one person who made him happy in a sense that didn’t involve ambitions and advancement. She was a good influence on him, all around, even if he seldom knew how to react to her influence positively.

That’s not the bond he had with Azula. She was his perfect heir, and that was all he ever expected of her. Canon-wise, that’s all she is. Gladiator-wise, once she stops being ONLY that, Azula doesn’t simply become someone Ozai respects and approves of: she becomes a threat. She is the one and only person in the Fire Nation who can tear down everything he has worked for, and it sure looks like she wants to do exactly that. He has been molding her all her life, only to find she has become his worst possible enemy and now he has to be much more cautious about how he deals with her.

One day, maybe, once his characted develops some more… Ozai might start respecting Azula on the actual same level he respected Ursa. One day, he might realize that, while craving Ursa’s affection and love, he had already earned Azula’s but he threw it to waste. By then, it may be much more difficult to determine who is his #1 indeed… but until that point is reached, he will continue to hold onto the memory of his wife while ignoring that his bond with his daughter is what will determine if he can attain either true salvation or eternal damnation… :’)

Hi Rain!! So sorry this feedback is kinda late, I just feel I needed to really do October 1865 justice cus it was hands down one of my favorites thus far!!! The whole thing, from beginning to end, was so thoughtfully written. Like when she finally dons the pink hanbok and is inspecting her appearance in the mirror and wishing her mom was there for advice/guidance really hit hard. rooting for our dear mc, she feels like an underdog to me. Quiet, demure, poised, low ranking, but incredibly sweet and giving. “So far, you’ve begrudgingly won a few scraps of respect from the male physicians, and it’s a start.” LIKE YES GIRL GET IT. And when Yoongie comes to her door to get her?!? The equivalent of a man getting out of the car and walking to your door to pick you up on your date. LOVED IT.

And the description of his appearance was perfectly detailed- I can imagine exactly what he looks like!! Well done. He truly is “unfathomably handsome.” I especially enjoyed the lil tidbit of the two of them looking suitable for each other despite their marked difference in social status and rank. As if, at least for the night, they’ll look like they belong together. It warms my heart. I love that this Yoongi is still lighthearted with the way he jokes with Eunuch Kim. It’s so nice to see him like this, but continues to make me wonder what else happened to him to change him so drastically???

Her excitement to see the Chuseok festivities is so palpable, and when she realizes “oh god, you just made the prince run” I WAS CACKLING HAHAH and the Jinkook appearace!!!!!!!!!! I WAS HOWLING. I love that you kept the basic appearance of the two from the mv. What a creative way to weave them into the story!!! “the bearded one looks about seconds away from giving the other younger man a good smack with the fishing rod leaning on the wall behind him.” HAHAHA SCREEEEEAM their competitiveness and banter is perfectly written!!! “Yah, you can take your beans and shove them right up your nasty sokgot… I’ll take two orders of each. Preferably not ones shoved anywhere.” I’M ACTUALLY DYING. The dialogue here is hilarious!!

And the way Yoongi passes off the treats to mc and Eunuch Kim!! And when they get mistaken as a couple by her mother’s old friend?!? CLASSIC. I’ve found that old ladies literally give no fucks. Don’t think I didn’t notice that Yoongi chose the bracelet she was eyeing. But are we gonna see him give it to her?? Or does he just secretly have it slipped into her room, cus that would be SUCH a yoongi thing to do. My favorite part though, if I HAD TO CHOSE, was probably the ending scene at the pond. I feel like this is the first time they’ve had the chance to have a REAL conversation. And how her theory that some things in the world are out of their control but can change in their favor if they never give up. Seems like it parallels their predicament perfectly.

I'm still having a hard time understanding your definition of "canon relationship". Endgame material? Essentially happy? Featured in many episodes? I think most people simply consider "canon" = "it happened in the show/book/film". And Sam and Eileen have canonically had feeling for each other, on screen. What those feelings were and how much they may have been manipulated by Chuck, neither seems sure, but it doesn't make them any less of a thing that noticeably happened. Therefore canon.

When you need a semantic debate to somehow validate your favored ship, and you feel the need to debate semantics with a stranger on the internet in order to “win” and be proven “correct” in some way, we’ve all lost, friendo.

You’re absolutely right, with your definition of “canon.” It’s what has actually happened, in the case of Supernatural, on screen in the show itself. That’s not up for debate. You’re trying to introduce a strawman into this conversation.

I’m attempting to define, from a watsonian perspective, which means from WITHIN THE NARRATIVE, how the CHARACTERS THEMSELVES would describe their relationship. You’re giving me the doylist perspective, from outside the narrative, the fact that Sam and Eileen have a relationship of any kind-- romantic or otherwise-- in canon.

You’re attempting to conflate the two things, for the sake of winning an argument on the internet.

By your definition, Dean and Cas are canon, too. Which, I mean... they are, but that’s not the debate here, and it adds nothing to the fact that Eileen herself, in canon, has stated that she doesn’t feel her relationship with Sam is even real.

Yes, it happened in canon, but that’s not the whole story, either.

I mean, let’s use a completely non-shippy example here, to hopefully illustrate why “but they’re canon! it happened in canon!” is... an entirely irrelevant point in context. Let’s look at a canonical friendship to illustrate the point.

Canonically, Garth has tried to kill Sam. That happened, in canon. Garth wolfed out and attacked Sam. Sounds awful, right? Should we lose all sympathy for Garth? Should we believe that he did that of his own free will, and is an “evil” character now, because that very much did happen in canon? Or are we supposed to use our brains and understand that Garth literally did not have a choice, because he was acting under a form of mind control, being puppeted by Michael into attacking Sam? Are we supposed to have a better understanding of what actually happened in context, and correctly see this as “Michael tried to use a trusted character to harm Sam, playing on their preexisting friendship/relationship in order to lure Sam in to his trap, and using Sam’s trust and friendship with that character to harm him?”

Mary has canonically tried to kill Sam and Dean (in 12.03). Are we to assume that she obviously hates them and wanted them dead? Because canonically her actions would say we should! She tried to hurt them! Oh, but... she was possessed by a ghost, and wasn’t in control of her own actions... maybe we actually need to think about what that means... maybe Mary herself doesn’t actually want to kill her own sons...

Or if you’re a Mary hater and are willing to think the worst of her, how about the canonical fact that Dean has tried to kill Sam. That Dean has canonically told Sam that he wished he were dead? There you have it, Dean canonically has said “your life sucked the life out of my life” to him. Dean canonically rejected any sort of care for Sam. Are we supposed to take that at face value, just because it happened in canon? Or are we supposed to understand that Dean was a demon, and Honestly. >.>

Cas canonically kissed Meg that one time. Obviously they’re canon, right? What, they’re not? Oh, right, Dean even lampshaded the fact with the “give you an hour with Meg first” comment, to which Cas replied “Why would I want that?” Does a kiss make a couple “canon?” What does that even mean? “going canon” is a practically useless term in cases like that. The goalposts for what any one person would consider qualifies a romantic couple as “canon” are eternally shifting all over the field.

Let’s be better than that, and instead understand that we’re all talking about our individual interpretations of the same canon. We’re just seeing different things, because we are different people with different experiences and understandings of the characters and the overarching narrative.

I have repeatedly explained my understanding of Sam and Eileen’s relationship as canon itself has defined it. I have explained that my understanding of the relationship they had, offscreen and undefined by canon, between 11.11 and 12.17 has shifted dramatically since Eileen’s return in 15.06. I had, before this season, been willing to HEADCANON that Sam and Eileen could’ve had an established offscreen relationship based on the nature of their relationship we saw onscreen in 12.17. It was cute! It was exciting thinking that Sam had grown so close to someone!

It was... proven in s15 that the offscreen relationship we’d all headcanoned in s12 was... nothing more than a happy headcanon, and had not actually happened! THAT is what I mean when I have talked about what is ~not~ canon about their relationship. Let’s be very clear about that, because

So, the debate over what is canon or what is not canon, to me personally, is an entirely useless conversation. Dean canonically hates chick flick movies. Also, he canonically loves chick flick movies. Sam canonically does not like bacon (15.06), and yet he canonically made a huge pile of bacon with Eileen in 15.07, but then was back to eating salad by the next episode. You can point at a lot of things that are “canon” to try and prove your point. To whatever end, or for whatever motive you may have in attempting to do so. That’s called “cherry picking.” (pay special attention to the section on Confirmation Bias) You have to be aware of what exactly canon is showing us as a whole, though, for it to have any actual meaning. 

At this point, after 15.09, Eileen has canonically chosen not to pursue a relationship with Sam, after she was canonically manipulated by an outside force into attempting to pursue a relationship with Sam.

She could, in canon, return to pursue a relationship with Sam! I am not here to speculate on that! It could happen! But it would be based in their canonical history, that is almost entirely muddied by Chuck’s interference in their relationship to this point. That is literal, actual canon!

But they had a cute relationship in 12.17! Chuck didn’t make them do that!

I have not denied that! That is obvious! But I’m not going to ignore everything that happened in s15 that has been (in canon! again!) defined as “not real.” As “not their own choice.” And I’m not going to suggest we just handwave the canonical fact that Eileen feels used, feels violated, by how Chuck attempted to manipulate her into seducing Sam, despite their canonical past interactions.

I mean, Sam carried out a two season canonical romance arc with Ruby. Their relationship is canon. He canonically had feelings for her, trusted her, fully engaged in the relationship with her. That’s not up for debate, but the in-canon CONTEXT of their relationship was a lie, you know? She lied to him for two years, with a specific goal in doing so. She manipulated him into all of that to free Lucifer from the cage. The fact that their relationship is canon is entirely irrelevant to any ANALYSIS of said relationship, and understanding it in context, and what it means for the characters.

So when you apply the context to Sam and Eileen’s relationship as it stands in s15, the fact it ~exists~ isn’t up for debate. The fact that they canonically interacted in a flirtatious fashion on screen, the fact they did anything together on screen isn’t up for debate. The reason WHY Eileen engaged in any of this, though, is also not up for debate. Chuck made it all happen, from the moment her ghost appeared in the bunker to the moment she told Sam she needed to leave, all of that is under a pall of Chuck’s influence. That... is also canon.

So anon, what do YOU mean when you say “they’re canon.” Do you mean they have established a mutually consensual romantic relationship? (because if so, then they are NOT canon) Do you mean “they have interacted in a way that can be interpreted as insinuating there is romantic interest between them?” Because I could give you that one. They definitely have potential in the future. Do you mean “They kissed on screen!” Because heck, what does that even mean?

Sam’s canonically kissed a lot of people! Jessica Moore! Lori Sorenson! Sarah Blake! Jo (well, he was possessed by Meg at the time, so does this one count? Their mouths touched...)! Madison the werewolf! Ruby! Amelia Richardson! Dr. Roberts! Amy Pond! Becky (though he was under a love spell for that one, so does that count? from how skeeved the entire fandom has always been by that one... even if Becky thought they had real feelings for each other “deep down,” does anyone think Sam actually consented to any of that?)! Annie Hawkins (self-reported by Sam, and we take his word for it)! That woman who propositioned his body while he’d been body swapped with Gary, so does that even count because only Sam’s body was used there? or did they even actually do anything beyond tying Sam’s body occupied by Gary to a bed and getting out the flail...)! And if we’re going meta, then Genevieve Padalecki in the French Mistake!universe! That hippie chick soulless sam had sex with when Dean was abducted by “aliens” that one time! and speaking of soulless sam, the hooker he was with in 6.03, and the apparent string of women he was with that we only learned about tangentially via 6.13!

Does that mean Sam has a canonical relationship with all of these women? YES. But... like... you can’t look at this list (which is probably not even complete) and suggest that all of these relationships are of equal canonical import, or that they are equivalent in emotional weight for Sam as a character. That’s... idiotic, frankly.

So, to me, the discussion of “what is canon” is like... irrelevant to anything I’m actually here for. The actual understanding of what the canonical relationship MEANS and how it informs character is what is actually important to me.

So please stop trying to undercut an actual discussion of canon with a semantics strawman. Thanks.

A pint of ice cream in your hands. *ding* your phone screen lights up.  You pick it up and read the notification *찬이 의 "방"🐺Ep. 13 has started* You look at the time knowing it was late, but not exactly how late *11:30 p.m* You groaned wondering why he was up so late. He truly adored the personal time with them. You came back and he was ending his Live so you waited out the door. "ah she's not back yet. I'll tell her you said good bye. But emotionally and mentally. You talked about books. Music. Old memories. You guys laughed together. You loved seeing him like this. So happy. His eyes scrunching up and his mouth wide open, giggles falling out. He told you about how he felt lonely at night. When it was dark, in the room he shared with Binnie. Staring at the ceiling in the silence. While everyone else throughout the dorms was asleep. How he knew he had you, and STAY and the members. But he can't help but feel alone in those moments. How Sometimes he wishes there was someone he could hold and love. And you felt sorry for him. And you related. It was hard for you too. Living practically alone. Your roommate always out with her other friends, or boyfriend. Sleeping over at his apartment. Sometimes for days. You felt lonely in those at night too. You hadn't been in a relationship for maybe almost 2 years. Not even really dating. Maybe a date or two. But nothing went anywhere. And as for Chan, you knew after he joined JYP that he couldn’t. He was too busy. You looked up after spacing out. He was crying. His head held down. Tears silently and slowly falling. You got off your chair and kneeled down in front of him. "Hey hey don't cry Channie" "why do I feel this way? I don't understand. Why?" He whispered "it's ok. It's okay to feel this way" you took his face in your hands "Look at me Chris" And he looked up to meet your eyes "I hate this feeling. Feeling empty. Especially when I have so much to be thankful for. Isn't that shallow of me?" he looked angry at himself "Chan stop. Don't say that. You're one of the most hardworking caring people I know. This feeling will go away soon. And I will help you through it. I promise. No matter what or when. You're not shallow. It's ok to feel empty and lonely.  Especially being an idol. It makes things allot harder. But I know you can do this. You won’t feel like this forever" you reassured. "Now stand up" You both stood up. He looked at you. Tears streaming out faster from his eyes. And you took him into your arms. Your heart breaking at his sobs. His repeating of the words "I don't understand. I love you" you choked out "I love you too" he whispered And you stood there holding each other until god knows when and you guys went back to his dorm. The boys sound asleep. You led him to his room. Made sure he fell asleep and you slept on the couch. Too tired to drive home. There's really one main reason people hate Blaine: they stanned another "original" character(s), then Blaine appeared in season 2, become an instant hit w/the general audience and took away screen time/songs/attention from other characters. That (combined w Blaine never being seen as an underdog/victim) is the core of it, tho they'll never admit it. They rationalize it by searching for hidden reasons to hate him, because he's clearly written as one of the most likable characters on the show.

~A lot of fans strongly identify w/Kurt's struggle: bullying, name calling, abuse, fighting for recognition or acceptance. For some of those fans, Blaine represented the opposite. He was a confident, popular, successful, gorgeous, openly gay lead singer--and he was nice. So if your hero was Kurt-the-underdog, it was hard for some fans to accept this new character who got everything he (and Kurt) wanted. It wasn't fair that Kurt struggled and Blaine didn't. ~The nature of stanning is to be all about 1 character. Stans want the whole show to revolve around their character; it's natural. So when people say "s2 was the best cuz Kurt had a complete arc" or "I just wanted KH to have a chance to be w a bunch of different guys" you see that anything that interferes w their character as the CENTER of the show is bad. Blaine/Darren did that. The GA loved Blaine; many KH stans didn't cuz he "took away" from KH. But it was an ensemble show!

Wow so I said I didn’t want to ignore these asks and then I let them fester in my inbox for over a month (: But they’re here, baby! Didn’t go anywhere. I knew if I waited long enough then we’d circle back to some more Blaine hate and I could appropriately respond to all this again lol

Also I feel like there’s one missing? I thought there was one about Blaine’s race tbh but oh well 

I kind of get that Blaine wasn’t like the underdog at first, so maybe that made him harder to root for I guess? Bc he was just like this perfect (seemingly) older mentor character for Kurt and that’s all he was supposed to be. But then he stuck around and became a real character and the writers actually gave him songs and decent plots, which is more than we can say for some characters... But even with his like “above it all” feeling in s2, he still got taken down a notch by being a big fish in a small McKinley pond starting in s3. He was out of his element and sort of discovering himself all over again, along with navigating his relationship with Kurt and also trying to make new friends and stay on everyone’s good side. He became more likable and more human- and yes, even flawed- later on, but apparently some people were already just committed to hating him

I don’t know. I guess the rest all boils down to, I just don’t get why people were so opposed to Blaine. Kurt was always my favorite, but even in 2010 I wasn’t foaming at the mouth, crying for him to get away from this evil prep school boy that was stealing his spotlight?? I thought Blaine was a good mentor, a perfect friend, and eventually a wonderful boyfriend for Kurt. I know Kurt was thrown into the unfamiliar world of Dalton and had to relive his struggles of fitting in at McKinley, but I never thought Blaine took away from that. If anything, he added to Kurt’s story and his arc. I think Blaine propped Kurt up more in s2 than the other way around. Which I’ve seen some people accuse Blaine stans of just wanting Kurt to be a cute, personality-free person for Blaine to be with which... idk

And yes, I’m pretty sure every character had their share of problematic fandom that took pleasure in doing nothing but spewing hate wank. I guess it makes me glad I wasn’t deep in the fandom back then and could just enjoy the show without seeing people go crazy because now someone that wasn’t Rachel was getting one too many solos. Which is the silliest thing to hate Blaine for, in universe and out

Android Freedom

(StoryInfo)(After the androids fought back, Connor was adopted by Hank as his son and Connor and Hank continue to work at the Detroit police station together as partners. And a guy that hates androids and is obsessed with Connor both hatefully and lustfully. Can Hank save his son and all the other androids or will all androids be wiped out forever?)

It was hard for Hank to let Connor out of his site with how much he loved him and with some of the people that still hate androids. And he didn't like that Connor was staying the night at someone else's house and wasn't going to see Connor until the next day at work. But his fears got worse when Hank showed up at work the next day and not only no Connor but all of the workers were knocked out. Except for Fowler there was no sign of him. All of a sudden a human fifteen year old girl grabbed him by the arm and was pulling him out of the station and into an ally.

Hank: Who are you? What's going on?

The girl stopped when they got to the end of the ally.

Aurora: My name is Aurora Mojo, listen to me carefully. " My dad" is a huge hater of androids and so is my "sister". First I followed my "sister" who has been pretending to date your son Connor.

Hank: She's fake?!

Aurora: Yes, she was only using him to deliver him to "my dad" Tod Mojo. But I doubt he knows that yet. He was knocked out when I got there. I stabbed Clara in the right shoulder then left quickly to stop you from getting taken. " My dad's" men came to the station to early, otherwise they would of took you instead of Fowler. I promise you, I'm the complete opposite of "my dad" and "my sister". I have loved androids and supported in their rights and freedom since I was a little girl. I'm going to help you get Connor and the androids.

Hank: And in return I'm going to help keep you away from "your family". In fact, Fowler told me yesterday he was planning a visit to the orphanage tomorrow so he could adopt a girl. I'm going to convince him to adopt you instead. I definitely think you two would make a perfect match.

Tod's underground prison under his house

Fowler woke up behind a big cell door, everywhere he looked there was androids locked in with him. Including Markus, North, Kara, Alice, and Chloe. He saw Connor was locked in a rollable cage in the middle of the room. Tod and three of his men walked into the room.

Tod: Connor you stand accused of wounding the innocent human girl Clara.

Connor: If she is wounded she's still alive. Let me see her just for a moment

Tod: You seduced her and bewitched her, you stabbed her with a knife.

Connor: I did not do it I swear it

Tod: Look at the fire in his eyes, he's a android. Do you confess to the crime of which you're accused?

Connor: I am a victim I have nothing to confess. I only confess to loving her.

Tod: Android boy, you have confessed to the harassment of Clara. You will be taken barefoot and shirtless where you will be hung by a noose.(Connor slid to the floor in sadness)

Tod left

Connor: Clara, if by chance she's still alive please tell her I love her. Clara, please save me and tell them the truth. Please tell them I did not try to kill you.(Said to himself)

At midnight Tod walked back in

Tod: I'm here to help you face your death

Connor: Please let me go. I've done no wrong(Clutched the bars)

Tod: Soon your door will open and you will be dead

Connor: What have I done to you to make you hate me so much?

Tod: It's not hate, I love you(Whispered as Connor had a look of shock on his face)

Tod: I love you!(Yelled making Connor cover his ears in denial)

Tod: I tricked you, I sent Clara, Clara Mojo AKA my daughter has been playing you the whole time she never loved you. My name is Tod Mojo and I ask only for a moment of pleasure. My daughter got it and I want it too. But unlike her, I love you and want to be with you as your lover forever. I give you a choice. The noose or me, death or love, and the ground or my bed. And I'll get you out same with the other androids and Fowler.(Opened Connor's cage door and walked inside)

Connor: Go away!(Pushed Tod hard)

Tod pinned Connor's arms against the back cage wall and started kissing his neck. Hank ran in with keys and unlocked the cell door. All the androids ran out, Fowler ran into the cage and hit Tod's head hard with his fist knocking Tod out. Connor ran out quickly and was hugged by Markus. Fowler got out of the cage and five androids locked the cage and rolled it down some stairs.

Hank: You're free, you're okay, you all are(Hugged Connor relivly)

Aurora: You demand the right to equality and freedom! I'm going to give androids equality and freedom!

Everyone took off to an abandoned apartment building in the middle of nowhere. Everyone thought they would be safe there. They were wrong, Clara came home at 7AM and let her father out of the cage. At 8PM Tod, Clara, and their men attacked and ambushed the apartment. The androids got into a battle with Tod's men. Hank stayed inside with Connor protecting him and keeping him away from that mad man Tod. The androids wanted Aurora to stay inside to but she refused. Aurora wanted to face her " her dad" in person and see his face when she showed she's on the androids side. The battle lasted for an hour with no blood or death until five of Tod's men stabbed North in the back killing her. Markus quickly ran over and kneeled next to her and held her and cried. The battle stopped and all the androids were seized. Markus was forced too his feet as Connor and Hank were pulled out of the apartment building.

Clara: Young Connor, you will be hanged for being a Android. As for the rest of you androids, you will be locked in my dad's prison forever.

As the androids, Aurora, and Fowler were taken away by Clara and most of Tod's men two of Tod's men forced Connor to a third floor balcony where a noose was already made. A guy put it around Connor's neck as Tod watched from a tenth floor balcony and forced Hank to watch with him.

Tod: Look at him, your precious Connor, remember Hank the one you didn't want anything to do with at first. I handed him to the noose because he didn't want me.

Hank: That's all you! No one with a brain or heart would want you!

Tod: He will die, look at him your son Connor. They're hanging him

Tod laughed evilly as Connor was thrown off of the balcony and was knocked out. Tod took off

Hank: Tod!(Yelled angrily)

Hank went after him, quickly grabbed his gun from the room he was in and caught up to him. He pushed him down all the stairs until they were on the first floor. Hank shot Tod in the head killing him. Hank ran outside. Before he could run to Connor's unconscious body that the two of Tod's men put on the ground they seized Hank.

Hank: Give him to me!(Struggled to get free)

Hank: Return him to me now!(Broke free)

The two men decided they didn't care either way so they walked away to join Tod and Clara at their house. Hank ran to Connor crying, he kneeled by him and held his hand.

Hank: My son, my Connor, don't go stay with me.

In Connor's heart he must of heard Hank cause suddenly Connor woke up gasping and coughing.

Hank: Connor your back!(Jumped on him hugging him)

Connor hugged him back

Connor: Tod took them again didn't he?

Hank: Actually, Clara did, I killed Tod

Connor: And we must get them back, where's North's body?(Looked around as Hank helped him to his feet)

Hank: In a pond behind the apartment building

Hank: Come on let's go!(Ran pulling Connor's arm)

In Tod's prison(The only one Clara didn't lock up is Aurora)(Aurora is in the middle of the room with her arms outstretched cause of long ropes tied to each arm from the walls)

Connor ran in just in time to see Clara stab Aurora in the right shoulder.

Connor: Aurora!(Cried)

Clara: You're alive?!(Said angrily as she threw Connor to the floor hard)

Aurora: Connor!(Cried)

Clara: Seize them both and stab them too death!(Said to her men pointing at Connor and Aurora)

But because all of Clara's men were distracted by Connor and Aurora they didn't notice Hank unlock the big cell door. And before Clara's men could touch Connor and Aurora all the androids were upon them and this time they wiped out and killed them in no time. Clara was surrounded and Connor stabbed her through the throat killing her. As soon as Aurora was untied she ran into his arms and kissed him on the lips like she been wanting to do since she saw him. Connor wanted the same and returned the kiss. Everyone was safe. They burned North's body and had a funeral for her. More people accepted the androids and treated them as equals. Fowler adopted Aurora right away and her and Connor started dating right away.

I’ve got something to write down here. Because mama and I went to the power company today, to pay our bill. Yes, we paid it in person rather online. Saw one of the stalkers there. The one who had been trying to put us down ever since I can remember. Anyway, I’ll continue later. A bit busy at the moment. It made me understand why they did it, kept on doing it.

Let us continue, but first I’d like to cite some things here. I am shy, yes, but I’ve gotten past that, my mother is also a bashful person, quite introverted as well. But you see, she knows how to carry herself. That had been passed down to me. We’re middle class, I never see ourselves as rich anyway. Moving on, we have that particular aura, you know when you stepped into an establishment and people would instantly look at you? I am aware of the attention, but I’ve never really poured myself into it. See, when we stepped into the power company, the guards were attentive and very accommodating. Need I cite too that our clothing were just normal and simple. My mother’s wearing a dress, I, on the other hand, we’re just wearing capri pants, long-sleeved off-shoulder top and slipped on shoes. A silver watch, gifted by my cousin and my signature ring on my left hand. That’s it, no jewelries, I was never fond of wearing too much accessories anyway, I’ve believed that less is more. Even though I’d be wearing shorts and t shirt whenever I’d go around malling in the city I’d still be looked at. Whatever our (my mother’s) ancestors were, however they have lived their lives before us, their genes had been passed down to us. Like i said, I would always brush off the attention. Now let’s go back to the stalker. When i walked into the office, i had always looked forward, i never looked beside me, apparently we passed by the stalker, they we’re waiting outside, as we were ushered by the guards inside of the office. We didn’t notice the stalker at first, they’re not that noticeable. When i did, i was surprised, obviously my mother and i just glanced at each other and kept quiet.

Let me give you a bit of a backstory about that particular stalker, they have been always interested about our business, our properties, whatever is going on in our lives here. Even our employees, would be interrogated whenever they’d go out to the market. Always have something to say about our lives even though my mother, my brothers and I aren’t asking for their opinions.

That moment, it made me understand, why they make so much noise in that little pond of theirs in our town, take them away from that pond and you’ll see. How their shoulders would slouch, how they get overlooked and ignored. Why they’re always so desperate to bring my mother and now us her children down.

I remember that quote I’ve read before, “they will hate you because of how many people loves you.” And that is correct, there are tons of people who had helped mama. Even though the haters kept on saying, “Ano gid na ang my ara ky Myrna (my mother) ngaa gina buligan nyo gid?” (What do you see in Myrna, that you would always help her?) , I’m always grateful for the people who have helped mama ever since she stepped here for her children. May you all be blessed. And to those, the thorns on my mother’s side, (and ours) I feel sorry for you, instead of focusing on yourself, improving yourselves, you focus on tearing us down, putting us down. Burying your noses in our lives. And then you’d hate us when we’d started advancing. Remember how you have called mama crazy when she was just building this business? How you laughed at her? How you made up those rumours about her and now to us? How you would desperately try to snuff out our light? i'll bite, what's your opinion on BAKUGOU KATSUKI

secondly, he is an extremely complex character & I beg all Bakugou haters to read what I’m about to write. I don’t think anyone needs to love him or kiss his ass by any means, let alone excuse his behavior towards Izuku. BUT! I beg of you to have some empathy for a fucking 15-year-old boy that has been through hell & back, is clearly emotionally stunted, obviously grew up in an emotionally manipulative, verbally abusive, and very likely, physically abusive household. 

As someone who was raised in a household like that, and as someone who was both the bully & bullied growing up, I just need you to understand how complex he is & that he is worthy of redemption!!! (after all, he is a child, he should be granted the opportunity to grow & learn from his mistakes. I don’t think people should give up on him just yet, lord knows where I would be if the people in my life had given up on me at 15). 

Deadass though…. let’s get into his fucking problems™ first because I am the last person on earth to act like he is perfect. 

#1 problem - extreme anger issues

It’s made clear from the start of the series that Bakugou expresses himself best through anger and violence, something he obviously learned from his mother. Horikoshi, in fact, has SAID that him & Mitsuki are essentially the same person. So can we all just take a fucking moment & imagine Bakugou as a parent…. imagine someone with that type of irrational & immature anger parenting a child. How tf do you think that kid is going to turn out? How does a kid being raised by a verbally abusive parent grow up?

Well!!! Luckily, this series provides us with two very good examples,

a) bakugou katsuki

while on the opposite end of the spectrum is 

 b)  todoroki shouto. 

Everyone deals with abuse in different ways, especially different types of abuse. While Bakugou is dealing with abuse by taking his anger & projecting it out, therefore reflecting his abuser, Todoroki internalizes all of his emotions & is extremely distant and at times submissive for fear of punishment.

Bakugou wards off his weakness/being punished by his mother for being weak, by expressing brute strength through his anger & aggressiveness, thinking of things such as friends and feelings (other than anger) as weak. Todoroki hides his weaknesses from Endeavor by closing off his emotions from him completely, so much so that he is emotionally/socially stunted.

In short

Bakugou’s emotionally stuntedness = lifetime of anger being his only coping mechanism/outlet & a huge failure on his parent’s part to foster any other sort of emotions 

todoroki’s emotionally stuntedness = lifetime of repressing all of his emotions from his father coupled with a lack of social interaction from peers

In both of their households….

losing = weakness

being #2 = weakness 

emotional vulnerability = weakness

all of these weaknesses = punishable by verbal & physical means

The reasons why people respond the way they do to abuse is very varied. My best guess for why Bakugou responds the way he does leads me to problem #2

#2 problem - His Huge Ass Ego/Superiority Complex

Bakugou is…. a perfectionist. Much like Momo & Iida (he is behind only them in terms of class rank) meaning not only is he a huge physical threat, but also incredibly smart & a very hard worker in all aspects of his schooling. He takes his future as a hero very very seriously, just as serious as Midoriya or Todoroki. He very clearly feels a lot of pressure from his parents & other adults in his life to do well & succeed due to the flashiness of his quirk. Even at four when his quirk manifested all people could talk about was how cool it was & how lucky he was to have it, therefore gassing him up & already inflating his 4-year-old head. 

All of the adults around him expected him to grow up and make something great of himself at only age 4, so he has quite literally been feeling that pressure for his entire life, at least as long as he can remember, which created this giant ego of his. 

(ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT ADULTS & PEERS ONLY GIVING A FUCK ABOUT BAKUGOU QUITE LITERALLY FOR HIS BODY. LIKE…. GENUINELY ONLY FINDING HIM WORTHY OF BEING A HERO BECAUSE OF HIS QUIRK BEING “COOL”. BECAUSE IF THAT DONT FUCK WITH YOU GROWING UP, WHAT DOES???)

Now his ego, in terms of how he responds to things, is why he most likely does not recognize what he is going through as abuse. And we all know that from ego, stems immense pride, and Bakugou would be far too proud to admit he was being abused IF he recognized his abuse, therefore he would not seek help for it, or vent / open up to anyone about it. But his ego is also part of the reason why he doesn’t recognize what he is going through as abuse. Admitting, even to himself, that he is abused would seem weak to him. He would have to admit he is not perfect, nor is his home life. He would have to admit that it has affected him, and he would most likely view that as a flaw or defect in his personality. He would never want to be viewed as a victim. (hint hint, how did he handle being called the “victim” of the sludge monster incident? He doesn’t want anyone pitying him or trying to save him from anything. He wants to handle things on his own & thinks of it was weakness to seek out help)

He also uses his superiority complex as a defense mechanism. For example, he overhears Todoroki talking about Endeavor with Midoriya the day of the sports festival right? And he later tells Todoroki that he doesn’t care about his home life and that he should still give it his all against him. This is because Bakugou probably realizes subconsciously that he too has been through some shit with his parents (not necessarily recognizing it as abuse, but not what all other kids go through) & yet he gives it his all. He almost says this as if to prove to himself that he hasn’t let what he has gone through affect him. He thinks it has made him stronger & that he will beat Todoroki despite his hardships, therefore proving him to be superior. When Todoroki decides to not use his flames at the last second it sends Bakugou into a rage because he believes Todoroki finds him unworthy of his full power. He thinks Todoroki is looking down on him, seeing him as weak, and just embarrassed him in front of thousands of people. (This is, by the way, the second time we see Bakugou lose it over the prospect of him not being better than his classmates).

The FIRST time we see it is when he and Midoriya fight one another on opposing teams for All might’s Class. He believes himself to be better than all of his peers & he is absolutely CRUSHED when he discovers that perhaps that isn’t so. After Midoriya fights him and wins, his spirit is broken. We see him retreat to the back of the class & silently watch as the other teams face off. 

His world is actively falling apart around him. For so long he was a big fish in a little pond. He was popular, he was powerful, he was looked up to and admired by adults and peers for his strength. He was talked up so high & told he was so special that for him to be anything other than the best was unthinkable. And yet, here was his childhood rival beating him in a test of strength and wits in front of their mentor and idol. And immediately following him was the son of the #2 hero showing his own display of brute strength & passing All Might’s test without batting an eye through the sheer power of his quirk

Bakugou is so incredibly saddened and shocked by the experience that he gives up, which is something he has never done in his entire life. Midoriya has to walk out after him once the test is over and ask him why he’s leaving, at which point Bakugou confesses, with tears in his eyes, crying, showing weakness in front of Deku, that he cannot keep up. That for once he is below someone and he cannot handle the feeling of failure that accompanies him not being number one. 

He gets over this, being motivated by both Midoriya & All Might to continue. But nonetheless, this is the first instance we see of Bakugou showing genuine fear & hopelessness for his future because he realizes he is not as great as he thinks he is. For him, there is no greater fear for him to face than for him to acknowledge the fact he is not perfect. He is flawed, there are things for him to learn and people he must learn them from and experiences he must go through before he can be number one, and that reality terrifies him. He sees it as nothing but endless opportunities for him to fail. So he determinedly puts on a brave face and screams at Midoriya and All Might that he will be number one no matter what it takes, that he will rise above everyone, even if it kills him. (Which of course it damn near does considering he is fucking kidnapped by villains impressed with his strength/power)

NOW ON TO THE ABUSE PART OF ALL THIS BECAUSE HOLY FUCK I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE GENUINELY OUT THERE SAYING THIS AINT ABUSE & WRITING WHOLE ASS ESSAYS TO DISPROVE MITSUKI AS AN ABUSER  ONLY SO THEY CAN WRITE HIM OFF AS A ONE DIMENSIONAL CHARACTER/ASSHOLE TROPE

Abuse is not only physical, and to dismiss emotional/mental abuse as not “real” abuse or merely “tough love” makes you an abuse apologist, sorry not sorry. 

The feeling I get from the few interactions we’ve had with Mitsuki, and the times Bakugou has mentioned his home life, is that the abuse he faces is overwhelmingly mental/emotional. He does, however, suffer some physical abuse too, which is essentially confirmed in this new chapter, it’s just unlike the abuse Todoroki suffers from. 

Todoroki’s abuse is blatant, its beatings, starvation, intense physical regimes, etc. The abuse Bakugou suffers is far more subtle and sadly enough, far more common. The abuse he is subjected too is what most of y’alls parents probably just call “good parenting” or parenting the old fashioned way, aka when most peoples parents were shit & everyone thought it was cool to beat their kids into submission & scream at them for hours and hours over simple things. (Sadly, a product of hypermasculinity and misogyny being the overarching influences in parenting tactics, especially in households with a male head. In this case, however, Mitsuki, a woman, is the abuser. So most of y’all tryna ignore it like women can’t be abusive, or violent how men can).

Her physical abuse most likely differs drastically from Endeavors as well. Parents who genuinely believe themselves to not be abusive, but just tough on their kids because they love them or whatever, rarely hit their kids as openly as Endeavor hits Todoroki. We see her slap him on the back of the head, which in another situation & with more context, could be taken as playful, not abusive. But again, all depending on the force of the hit, the intent behind it, how often these sorts of things, occur, and if Bakugou is comfortable with it. How he responds indicates that he does not like it. Therefore she is laying her hands on him in a violent manner, obviously without consent. 

A parent or not, “disciplining” your child or not, that is wrong. And I’m more than positive it happens frequently and in different ways after the new chapter. She is most likely a believer in spanking, which do NOT even get me started on that (my parents literally used to tell me I was fucking lucky to get beat with a belt and not an electric cord), spanking is abuse and I don’t wanna fucking hear it isn’t. You shouldn’t feel the need to beat your kids in any way shape or form to get them to listen to you. She also probably digs her nails into his arm or some shit when he says something she doesn’t like in public, or just generally is rough with him when she disagrees. 

Mentally/emotionally she does not come off as the type to apologize to a child, admit she is wrong to a child, or have a rational conversation with her child rather than beating them. Again, since when has Bakugou himself ever done those things? (and according to Horikoshi, we all know he is a carbon copy of her before entering yuuei). 

Gaslighting is when the abuser places blame on a victim by making them question themselves or attributing the situation to some imaginary fault of the victim. In this instance Mitsuki blames Bakugou for his own kidnapping, calling on his supposed weakness as the source of the problem.

She not only BLAMES Bakugou for his kidnapping, calling him weak and pathetic, but does so in front of his teachers, his idols, degrading him in front of the very people he wants to impress. And for someone like Bakugou, that is probably one of the biggest hits his ego can take and it is most likely killing him inside from shame and embarrassment. 

In fact, I KNOW it is because we later see him TELL Midoriya that he blames himself for All Might’s fall. He thinks he was too weak to handle the villains and so he had to be saved (something he hates having to admit) which lead to All Might’s battle with All for One and eventual retirement as a hero. He literally takes his mothers words and internalizes them to the point of breaking & then expresses them the only way he knows how: violence, by fighting Midoriya. 

So not only do we have concrete evidence of emotionally abusing him by calling him names intended to hurt him, but also of her mentally abusing him by placing the blame on him, causing him to question himself & his capabilities/role in the situation. She makes him genuinely believe that he should have been able to do something about the traumatic experience of being kidnapped by a group of known murders…. uuuuuhhhh does that scream totally normal parent to you? She is not even remotely concerned for his safety…. only how it looks, only with how weak he is. Does that um, cough cough endeavor cough, remind you of anyone? No? Okay. 

Which back to Bakugou and Todoroki, this new chapter killed me because Todoroki is a sweetheart and he really knows what he went through was fucked up. I can see him trying to get Bakugou to understand in the future that violence is not the way to get what you want in life, no matter how small the act, hurting someone, emotionally, mentally, or physically is not how you get people to do what you want or agree with you. Even though that’s all Bakugou has ever known, he just never recognized it as morally wrong the way Todoroki did, most likely because it was much more subtle & normalized in Bakugou’s household.

That all being said…. Bakugou has made many mistakes and I’m not kidding when I say he is a carbon copy of Mitsuki. I don’t want to go so far as to call what he does to Midoriya abuse because that implies a fundamental misunderstanding of his character in my opinion, but like…. bottom line… he abuses & bullies Midoriya severely. 

Bakugou is a classic case of an abuse victim turning into an abuser. However, he is a child, unlike Mitsuki. He was raised by someone who taught him that abuse is okay and normal. He has not yet matured or been able to view life through any other lenses. His parents have failed in teaching him healthy coping mechanisms, other adult influences in his life, such as previous teachers, have never discouraged his behavior either, therefore he merely copies what he knows. So I understand him not knowing any other ways to deal with someone like Midoriya, his antithesis, and rival. 

In sociology this semester we learned about a famous poem by Dr. Dorothy Law Nolte, a family counselor & writer. The poem focuses on the ways in which children develop due to what circumstances they are raised under. It goes like this: 

(Lines bolded reminded me most of Bakugou, lines italicized reminded me most of Izuku, lines with both… reminded me of both)

If children live with criticism, They learn to condemn.

If children live with hostility, They learn to fight.

If children live with ridicule, They learn to be shy.

If children live with shame, They learn to feel guilty.

If children live with encouragement, They learn confidence.

If children live with tolerance, They learn to be patient.

If children live with praise, They learn to appreciate.

If children live with acceptance, They learn to love.

If children live with approval, They learn to like themselves.

I kid you not in the middle of class all I could think of was Bakugou and Midoriya and how this poem so beautifully contrasted and compared them.

Midoriya is the exact opposite of Bakugou. Where Bakugou is strong, powerful, fierce, influential, popular, admired, confident, loud & aggressive. Midoriya is weak, small, quirkless, quiet, timid, mumbling & stuttering, friendless, self-conscious, and not very vocal. They are completely different in all aspects, Midoriya represents everything Bakugou strives to not be. He is useless, weak in Bakugou’s eyes. Something he has been told his whole life to not be, and thus he does not want to associate with Midoriya. 

However, the thing that scares Bakugou most about Midoriya is how much they can relate. They were, after all, friends. Best friends as children, they had the same dreams and shared common interests. Their similarities are only on display even more so as they both get into yuuei and progress throughout the year. 

One of the most important moments in Bakugou’s life is when Midoriya reaches out to Bakugou after he falls. Midoriya the small, shy, quirkless kid, asks if Bakugou, the great, powerful, destined to be a hero kid, needs his help. As if that is something he would even want, let alone need. 

I’m sorry but no 5 year old is going to get an idea like that on his own, you can see where Mitsuki’s thinking has already taken root, whereas Inko’s teachings have taken root in Midoriya. Up until this point in time, Bakugou was content with just allowing Midoriya to tag along with him, be a follower, quirkless or not. But this instance Bakugou clearly saw as a challenge for leadership, a questioning of authority. At five years old, he is already so distrusting of the sincere intentions of those surrounding him that he makes it his mission to let Midoriya know that he is above him and will not be surpassed by someone so weak.

It just makes me so fucking sad to see how twisted Bakugou’s logic is due to Mitsuki & the constant almost coddling of his ego that adults in his life have encouraged endlessly. It really isn’t until he meets Aizawa that an adult makes an effort to change that mindset in him. And slowly but surely, along with the help of Bakugou’s probably first real genuine friends that he views as equals and not just tagalongs, he is beginning to change his thinking & learn from his mistakes. Kirishima, Sero, Kaminari, and Ashido are all a wonderful influence on him and I genuinely think with their advice & trust he will be able to change his ways in the future, along with the guidance of All Might and Aizawa. 

And let’s not forget Midoriya, he needs to apologize to him, sincerely, and because he wants to, not because he is pressured into it by anyone. I have high hopes for him and his future relationship with Midoriya, but I don’t think it’ll be possible for them to be best friends again. I just hope Bakugou can realize that he was wrong for treating Midoriya the way he did when they were growing up and can put aside his ego for five minutes to correct his wrongs as best he can. I’m sure it will be in the far far future though because he still has a lot of growing and learning to do. No one is going to just be able to put aside an almost decade-long hatred for someone & admit they were in the wrong, over the course of a year. But still… I have hopes.

All in all, I really really love Bakugou. I have some extremely parental feelings towards him having seen all the shit he has gone through & the many failings he has endured from the adults surrounding him. I just want for him to embrace his friends and place at yuuei and change his behaviors so that he can be easier on himself & others. He deserves to feel that sort of peace.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Bakugou Katsuki is deserving of love, friends, second chances, and a shot at redemption.
