CONCRETE EXAMPLE where i set a boundary with roommates that required behavior changes on their part that my therapist named specifically as a boundary when i described it:

dishes are the biggest point of contention in basically any living situation with multiple people. my previous roommates were really bad at doing them, in a way that resulted the kitchen being really gross if i hadnt just cleaned it. even after many requests to do basic things of "empty the sink trap of soggy food so it doesn't rot" and "dont hoard dishes long enough to grow an ecosystem" over m o n t h s, i got nowhere with dishes being done regularly in a way that didnt bother me

in the end it was so continuously upsetting that i told them to not do the dishes at all ever whatsoever, i would take care it. mind, i was the only one who worked out of the house while commuting via bus as a chronically ill person with severe fatigue and i was putting in an average of 50 hrs a week every week for werks on end at the time. me deciding to take this on was not done lightly, this was me recognizing that it was better and healthier for all of us for me to take on this one task. it would result in me being much happier in that living situation at no real cost to the other party other than maybe the dishes would stack up a bit if i was particularly exhausted one day, but things would get caught up within the week

this did not go down well despite my best efforts, and i would not be surprised if this black and white portrayal of what boundaries are influenced that. this nonsense went down over like six solid months and every single session i had with my therapist had him absolutely baffled because he couldn't think of a single thing i could have done better

i am not a mh professional i do not know the specific difference between "dont do this thing it upsets me" and "dont do this thing that 'upsets' me because i am controlling you", but the blanket statement of calling something like this a boundary is misusing the term is black and white thinking. i have bpd, ive done some dbt about it and the first thing they teach you is how to spot black and white thinking because it us incredibly mal adaptive and *really fucking dangerous* and this specific trend is going to be taken advantage of by abusers just as much as coopting the use of "boundaries" to justify their behavior

tldr "boundaries are never about other people's behavior" and "you can't do xyz thing because it violates my boundaries" are two sides of the same abusive coin. people who have put in the work in a tangible and meaningful way, who are able to examine their motives and give grace to other people within their boundaries, can recognize that boundaries are a spectrum, like everything with social relationships and mental health in general

my christmas holidays start the day after thanksgiving lol, i mean i’m not in school and nothing is on a strict schedule and my mom looovvessss christmas so we just do as much as possible leading up to it. i honestly don’t think i relax any more or less than a typical day, bc i usually am pretty chill and i always like having things to do equally? so im kinda just like making my regular relaxation and activities and festive as possible. we’re gonna make gingerbread houses tomorrow i think? and have more christmas lights to look at and baking to do and stuff. i love it im very big on holidays in general i love having things to celebrate and do special things for. ^-^ are there any festive foods from another country’s winter holidays that you really want to try?❄️🌸

i haven't really tried it with vodka (i only kinda started drinking this year and i am taking it slow) but is the hint of vodka that strong in the sauce usually? god yes i love a good primavera with crunchy veggies in. i only like broccoli when it's in pasta because it just goes so well with a red creamy sauce! ooh most important question : what's ur favourite pasta shape! sooo how was the soup? 👀 i'm vegetarian but i love a good hot n sour noodle soup with loads of pepper in it!

i feel like u can never go wrong with indian food because it's got something for everybody! but god yes the dishes u mentioned are some of my favourites too! i know u said samosas but have u tried samosa chaat? it's basically a samosa broken into pieces and then we had some mint sauce, tamarind sauce and sweetened yoghurt on top of it! i haven't been to the usa, but while i was in the uk there were so many indian places and some of them were really good and reminded me of home so i'm guessing that that's the same with usa too! especially with how many indians live there now. and yes modak is truly so so good! maybe next year during ganesh chathurthi u'll be able to get it in the states!

so, in the tags of my posts I typically use the numbers “0986” as a way to separate my writing and my personal life stuff. but i want to clarify what it means!

0986: as of 9/11/2024

So, in the world that i built, 0986 is both a concept, a hex, and an omen. i will be defining all of them.

CONCEPT:

The concept of 0986 is the birth of profoundness and an ascended way of thinking through severe agony and misfortune.

HEX:

“0986-ing” someone is the process of swapping out the RI in their soul with fresh RI from the real world. This gives the person the ascended thinking of real-world humans, but since the motherboard reads their character file as blank, it will spawn in horrific events for them to go through as “character development.”

OMEN:

The numbers 0986 can mean different things to different people when it shows up on random objects. The Witches associate 0986 with the elite and esoteric, while The Blacksmiths associate 0986 with suffering and bad luck. The Witches try to take the item, while The Blacksmiths attempt to destroy it.

In actuality, when it shows up on random locations and objects, it means that that location/object is key to the journey of Francisco (the protagonist of MOUNT PURGATORIO.) And anything with 0986 written/engraved on it will regenerate in the same spot by the motherboard.

Why “0986?”

in 2020 i was making a password for my computer and meant to put “0987,” but i mistyped and wrote “0986” instead. i was also in the middle of writing the alternate ending to one of the tall tales (for the eor,) and i needed a password for a door. and it’s been stuck ever since!

its still the password to my phone and computer, so if you ever find me in public, feel free to look! (jk please don’t do that)

I got into writing when I was 12 years old and I’ve always been in love with it. I probably would’ve gone the creative route in terms of careers had my family not been pro-practical lmao, now I’m studying Vet, but I do hold onto the hope of being able to write as a side hustle and potentially publish a book one day. But for now, y’all are stuck with my lil fanfics. I also love art; I dabble in digital art (becoming a graphic designer was almost in my future) as well as pencil drawings and shading, and I deeply despise painting unless it’s in an Impressionistic art style because I’m messily expressive with paint ~

Been debating in my own head who my favorite only friend’s character is because idk I like to psychoanalyze myself for a change. So is it Boston or Nick…. Or Ray. So let’s do some brain soup.

Humm I want to say Boston because I spend an ungodly amount of time wondering what he is thinking. It’s hard. Neo is doing a fantastic job it’s just figuring out what everything means. He’s a good puzzle. I love that Boston is honest. He also reminds me of my eldest bro who was a terrible man hoe. My brother once broke up with a girl because she was too smart for him academically. My brother did eventually calm down and loves his family. So I can’t agree with Boston’s actions all the time but I want him to grow into a good guy.

BUT YOU KNOW WHY THAT IS? Because I love Nick and my poor stalker baby is obsessed with Boston’s inner self too. I feel immense comradely for Nick. Im also a nerd who works on computers. I love Nick’s type of crazy for Boston. Nothing can sway him from loving Boston and truly that would be a dream. I want to protect Nick and Boston so fiercely. I love his friendship with Sand. I could talk about Mark’s performance all day. Have you noticed how his right eye twitches when he’s very stressed? What the hell. Nick gets so little screen time or background but he is my chaos boy.

Then there is Mr. Pakorn who I share many many many things with. More than I’d like to admit or am comfortable with. Now he gets on my bad boy list often but he’s played by Khaotung so how can I not root for him. Khao’s little micro movements glances allowed me to make up many posts about him and boston being besties even though that’s not really in the script. But anyways Ray & I make lots of shitty mistakes especially to those I love out of fear. No matter how upset with Ray I look forward to his puppy dog eyes every episode.

I guess the answer I’ll settle on is Nick? Because it’s the least painful answer it’s two in one? maybe? And I made him my icon! Do you know how hard it was for me to switch it from Yoongi? BTS is life but Only Friends is rn. Anyways who would you pick?
