Israels actions against Palestine make me sick to my stomach. Every time I look at the news I see some new horror they are committing, and see how they are justifying the inexcusable, I feel sick to my stomach with rage. But now, in the heart of Ramadan, the word angry feels too small for the fire I feel in my chest.

Palestine will not be able to properly celebrate Ramadan this year. Trying to explain the situation to people who have never interacted with the community is difficult. Even when thinking to myself, I have the urge to compare it to what I know. "Imagine if there was no Christmas." "Imagine if someone took away Easter." "Imagine there was no food on Thanksgiving."

But Ramadan is not any of those things. The fact that there is no Ramadan in Palestine should be enough to make you angry.

I've been living in a muslim country for six months now. Ramadan is not nearly as festive as Eid was, but its presence is unmistakable. You can taste the joy in the air. Children here get out of school early this month. There is a school across from my home; I hear their laughter every day. String lights hang from the balconies of my neighbors, wrap around palm trees, dangle from streetlights. In the news I read that the Sheik has pardoned hundreds of prisoners, paying off their fines himself in the spirit of charity. Shops here are decorated to match, with cut out stars and crescent moons and streamers. Many shops offer discounts. "70% off home delivery."

There are festivals in the streets and lectures in the colleges.

It is wonderful. And the people of Palestine do not have this. Their fasting is forced, their children out of school by force, their houses lit by firebombs and not crescent moon LEDs, homes that smell of gunsmoke instead of oud.

I hate Israel. It feels childish to admit this. It feels like a shortcoming; hate is what causes this crisis, I should be able to focus on loving Palestine instead of adding more hate to the world. But it is a word I can't help but feel when I think about what Isreal has done, is doing, will do to the people of Palestine. What injustices they will force upon them next. Hate. It's not something I say lightly, but it is something I feel I must say.

I am not disappointed in Israel. I am not sympathetic to their 'cause.' I will not censor myself to sound more moderate, to convince the undecided. I hate Israel. I hate Israel. I hate Israel.

Real talk if you reblog shit about israel and gaza, and honestly any sort of situation where REAL LIVES are impacted and give it a cute little tag like “ ___ discourse” thats just like, absolutely disgusting and shameful. It’s like some internet debate game for you. Open a window and get some fresh air. Look at yourself in the fucking mirror. you arent helping people by tagging triggering content. If you really care you’d use normal fucking tags. Just say it like it is: What you’re really doing is creating a little shelf of posts that make you feel morally superior and justified by collecting “gotchas” over people you disagree with. A box of clout that makes you feel better about your tiny existence by having “the right opinions”. You don’t care about the people that its actually affecting. I've seen THREE of those types of posts calling celebrities Isreal supporters with zero evidence provided except their religion. And sure, you can suspect that someone might be a zionist based on that, but you cannot claim it factually unless you have evidence ready to point to.

I know PLENTY of Christians who do not support Isreal and support Palestine. You cannot point at someone, say "they're far right" and then call them a zionist with no other evidence. Unless that person has done something that supports Israel, directly or indirectly, then it's pure speculation, you are spreading potentially harmful rumors, and I don't want to keep getting blocked by people simply because I asked to see where they were getting this info from.

And, once again, when asked what your source is, if your first response is to get angry instead of finding a fucking link that proves your point, then I don't wanna hear it. You can speculate. You can be wary. In fact, you SHOULD be. But don't just say "X person is a zionist btw" and then hit post. If a person I at least somewhat look up to is, in fact, a zionist, I want to learn more. I cant believe i have to say this but if yall are continuing to support celebrities and actors even though they support israel just because they're in something that you like- you are not pro-palestine.

I don't believe that we as people need to be looking to celebrities when a major event is happening, especially something as sick and twisted as what's going on in palestine rn, but I keep seeing people refusing to acknowledge or DEFENDING actors/celebs who support israel. Specifically this is towards the mcsm fandom, as thats who i interact with , and I see a lot of people trying to defend Fem Jesse's VA for being a zionist. If you're defending a zionist for supporting israel, you're not pro-palestine.

Trying to defend someone who agrees with israel's constant bombardment, murder, starvation, oppression and occupation of the palestinians is absolutely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Do better. Don't stop talking about palestine and continue to boycott!

prev reblog about the hypocrisy in the difference in coverage between Ukraine and the most recent atrocities in Palestine is so fucking true. it boils my blood how most people in my classes were in support or could easily be pushed to be in support of Ukraine and how [relatively] easy it was to tear down russian talking points- yet i hear zionist talking points so often.

i had a guy sit down next to me last week and talk about how hes upset at the decrease in support for Ukraine- i haven't heard him say anything about Palestine since a month or two ago i screamed in his face for repeating Zionist talking points about 'self defense' and refusing to listen to me and have empathy for the Palestinian people.
