what if Legolas met Curufin or Celebrimbor in the third age, how would that play out?

Hmmm I think legolas and celebrimbor would at first not like each other, but then get on like a house on fire tbh- it's like that one friend you can try to fight then both walk away like nothing happened tbh

BUT LIKE I can just see legolas' face when they meet- because this is a Feanorian first and foremost, but also the lord of Hollin but also "Oh shit lady galadriel's kinsman who forced her out OH" that's definitely the part where immediate dislike is going to creep in.

Celebrimbor on the other hand is still a bit fucked up from the whole torture thing. He isn't really out there /trying/ to make friends- if they meet it would be by pure accident. And Celebrimbor would be cursing his father and grandfather agsggdgd.

In this scenario, let's assume that 1. Legolas can't leave 2. Legolas recognizes Celebrimbor, and 3. Legolas is actually pretty tired of elvish infighting, so homie won't really try to fight him.

I hold that Legolas is one of the youngest elves alive in middle earth at this point, so there is that dislike but also curiousity. Because this guy did rule a prosperous country, though he was fooled by sauron. And Legolas had been ruled by spiders and darkness his whole life. You can't blame a guy for being curious about better days.

Celebrimbor doesn't appreciate Legolas asking him to reminisce about the good Ole days because they always held painful memories. It's basically an old man being grumpy while a kid tries to get him to talk tbh.

In the end I really don't know how much Legolas gets from him- I think better stories from before Sauron came definitely, and Legolas understands that Sauron being involved in your country means jack in terms of prosperity. (I forgot- didn't Sauron make Hollin more prosperous or did Sauron go there because it was prosperous???)

The main difference between Celebrimbor and Curufin in the third age is that Celebrimbor is more jaded about the world, especially when his world view for a time was bomb blasted by Sauron.

Curufin, on the other hand, has no guilt. He died or "died" in this au, thinking the Feanorians were correct. So when Legolas asks him things he will answer them without shame, but also will try to be sneaky about what exactly he gives away because he knows the Feanorians aren't well liked and Legolas is obviously a Silvan elf so Curufin plays his cards in direct correlation to that.

So Legolas could ask Curufin something insane like "oh what did you mix into your tin to make first age Armour" and Curufin would just sit there for hours, talking smack on how some elves nowadays from what he saw could never make Armour like the first age blah blah blah.

This is also assuming that the same rules that applied to Celebrimbor applied to Curvo tbh- I feel like Legolas would be more afraid of Curufin, but being unable to leave would be forced into a situation where he is sweating bullets while also being morbidly curious.

So basically, they are both grandpa's but in different ways.

I never thought of a larger screen tablet as being an accessibility thing, but uh, I'm stunned by what a difference it makes for me. That sketch on the left is almost the size of my head IRL and I can. see. things. my vision isn't blurring after drawing for 45 minutes. I'm not gonna say "what if I could draw like normal again" but uh. I mean that's mostly because it sucks to get your hopes up and then have it not work out jesus christ why didn't I get one of these before. jesus. I can see forever
