The Stranger Things Q&A panel at a convention today (actors of Chrissy, Alexei and Karen)

I was not able to ask any questions, sorry guys! The queue was long and I dislike crowds a lot so I avoided it. However, the panel host pointed at me when talking about the cosplay in the fandom and complimented my cosplay- people clapped! Except she said "oh my goodness chips ahoy!" (I am a Robin cosplayer) and I am in fact not cosplaying chips ahoy.

I've included most answers here, nothing really about S5 though except confirmation that filming begins in June for Cara, what they'd like to happen and no Byler. There was a lot for the Hellcheer shippers as well since Grace got asked about that. There were a few questions they refused to answer, most of which were about their fellow cast members. Except for when the crowd wanted to kill Mike when asked which of the party should die (bit harsh). One person said Will and Grace was outraged.

Cara (Karen)

Her daughter cosplays anime

Audition - started in 2015, in person followed by a series of auditions, only one to meet Duffers before set

Huge Walking Dead fan, loves Star Trek, anime vicariously through child, Genshin Impact

Likes the nostalgic bits - happy it's introducing 80s music to younger generation

Favorite part to act was the scene where she first met Billy as it was fun to shoot and they were laughing between takes

Cara never learnt to swim so had to get lessons to film a shot of backstroke in S3

Sad that Benny died, as well as Eddie and Chrissy because she wonders what could've been

Her daughter was 2 when she started stranger things so she grew up with the cast and it's bittersweet to see kids grow

Thinks pineapples DO belong on pizza

Wants Angela to die in S5 (because she's mean) with a whack to the face from another roller skate

S5 shooting begins in June!

She was surprised at how gruesome Chrissy's death was even though she'd read it in the script but thought it served as a good departure from previous seasons

Carnival scene was best location to film on as they built a carnival and you could go on the rides when it wasn't being filmed

Grace (Chrissy)

Audition - sent in a tape, only had to try once because she was the only one to play her nice

Grace is a big Doctor Who fan, particularly number 10

Would be a demodog if she could play anyone else

Favorite part of shooting was working with Joe Quinn as he's super talented and fun

Most stressful scene to shoot was running from Vecna (crying, screaming, running, etc was exhausting) especially since Jamie Campbell Bowers walks super slowly

Would kill Vecna to save Eddie

She thinks Eddie and Chrissy would've been together but says that "they are [together] now" (💀💀) which got a huge laugh

Says third season is the best

Would be a potato if she could be a food

Not tired of Chrissy Wake Up. Was asked to sing Chrissy Wake Up but she didn't

Was nervous people would be glad she died so she'd be out of the way so was pleased people love Chrissy

Dear Billy (04x04) is the best episode in her opinion

Thinks pineapples don't belong on pizza

Enjoyed dying for the first time but actually found it hard to watch. They wouldn't let her keep snapped Chrissy to hang from her ceiling

Alec (Alexei)

Audition - just generic scenes, wrote the character around him

Big anime fan (Demon Slayer, Hunter X Hunter)

Says the 80s nostagia shows the power of music (and marketing)

Favorite people to work with were David and Winona (mother and father figure of set)

Favorite part to shoot was the scenes with the slushies. It was cherry "because it was in the script" (he was asked why he chose a cherry slushie)

Would be "Cool Dustin" if he could have played anyone else (he is his favorite character, loved Gaten's performance from S1 as he's unique)

First shot outside of Murray's house was very scary to film as he wanted to impress the cast

He says the first season is the best season

It was unexpected that people clung on to his character and the reaction from social media although he did anticipate people would be sad from the death

Doesn't want Eddie to come back, says more main characters should die

So that's that! I got to speak to Cara as well and she was lovely, I'll be seeing them later today as well for photos/autographs (:

As I grow and my views change, I want to keep you followers updated, so I am making an updated version of my "things to know" list for ST fans who want to follow me.

1) I ship both Mileven and byler, about 90% and 10% respectively. Both are super adorbs and valid in their own right.

2) I don't want to be involved in any ship wars, so please do not start anything with me.

3) I still have a very emotional attachment to Mileven, so I try to avoid any "byler is canon/byler is endgame" definitive proof and/or analyses, and I don't follow blogs that are primarily dedicated to making those analyses. Nothing against them, they're just not for me.

4) I do not view byler as canon, it is currently just fanon for me. However, I am absolutely willing to discuss the POSSIBILITY that byler could become canon/endgame, but please keep it civil. I am also willing to talk about headcanons, look at fanart, and just gush about how cute they are.

5) if I do decide to join a debate or something ends up escalating, I try to stay calm and civil, and I also usually try to stay with the facts (aka what has been clearly and definitively established in the show). Please do not get aggressive with me.

6) any aggressive shippers (Mileven, byler, or otherwise) are not welcome. I also do not appreciate shippers shitting on other shippers just because they don't agree. Just leave each other be.

7) if I want opinions or headcanons or anything (for byler), I WILL ASK FOR THEM. Doing so is not an invitation to shove your theories down my throat. Please. Be. Civil.

8) I do not like viewing Mileven and byler as being in competition with each other. No "mike doesn't really love El" (bc I fully believe he does), no "mike doesn't care about will" (bc if you honestly believe that, you are watching the wrong show), no trying to pit the kids against each other. I love all the kids.

9) I don't want to hear anything about how I am "not a true shipper" bc of the aforementioned statements. I can ship what I want and it is valid and I am valid.

10) absolutely NO ship bashing, and NO slander against any of the characters.

11) if I ever come off as aggressive or rude in my posts/comments, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I never mean to be mean, I don't want to offend anyone or make anyone feel like they are invalid. Please let me know kindly so I can either revise my comment(s) or explain myself and apologize.

Please show me decency and respect, and I will show you the same. If you want to talk to me, please feel free, I love messages. Attackers/bashers will have their messages posted with no response but just so everyone can see what an asshole you are.

I look forward to any (sophisticated) discussions! Since I am very new to this ship (and as stated above, still very emotionally attached to Mileven), I am not yet stable enough to get into debates, no matter how friendly. They will make me argue and I don't want to do that, so let's keep our discussions calm and cool like a cucumber. ❤️

I'm sorry I keep making posts like this, I just feel like I need to update every now and then, when things change.

One of my top priorities in this fandom is to keep the peace between the shippers.

So, here are my updated "rules"/facts for ST fans who decide to follow me. Because of the ship wars, this post is mainly concerning the Bylers and the Milevens, but I encourage all to read it. :)

1) I ship a multitude of things in this fandom. Mileven is my otp. I do also ship Byler, Elmax, Lumax, Duzie, and the poly party primarily (the adults and teens, while still present, are less prevalent here, but you can just ask who I ship if you're curious).

1.5) The only ships I currently view as canon are the ones that have so far been explicitly and concretely stated in the show itself (Mileven, Lumax, and Duzie).

2) I am absolutely willing and happy to discuss the possibilities of any of the other ships becoming canon and/or endgame, AS LONG AS they are had in a calm and sophisticated matter. I am also absolutely willing to concede when someone else makes a good point, even if I don't want to agree with it.

2.5) I would greatly appreciate if any and all conversations you might want to have with me (both in posts and in messages) are done so in the above fashion. No name-calling, no laughing "hahaha they're so stupid, they don't know what they're talking about", no petty, childish behavior.

3) Because I used to (and still do, a little bit) have a bit of a very strong (emotional) attachment to Mileven, I try to avoid any analyses, theories, etc. about how "byler IS canon" and/or "byler IS endgame." I also will not follow any blogs dedicated to making such posts. Nothing against those blogs or the people who run them, they are just not for me.

3.5) For my own peace of mind, I politely ask that you do not try to shove your analyses/theories/"proof" about Byler down my throat. I get very easily worked up and go into defensive mode, at maximum percent, and I do not want to start fights or take part in them.

4) if I do ever decide to join a debate (see: friendly discussion, NOT an argument), I try to stay as polite and civil as possible, especially when disagreeing. I try to understand both sides, while still making my own opinion clear.

4.5) if I EVER come off as rude, aggressive, or a dick, please let me know. I never mean to be mean, and if it is brought to my attention, I will try to either change my answer, or explain myself more politely, and then I apologize. So please let me know.

5) I hate the idea of Mileven and Byler as being in some sort of competition with each other. No "mike doesn't really love El" (bc I fully believe he does), no "mike doesn't care about will" (bc if you honestly believe that, you are watching the wrong show). I try to avoid those posts as well.

6) For Byler, everything else that is not an analysis, theory, "proof", etc. is within limits. I will reblog fanart, headcanons (I will even write them), memes, and other stuff.

7) Please DO NOT: try to start an argument with me/drag me into the ship wars, tell me I am "not a true shipper for [ship]" or a "bad shipper", get aggressive (idc what you ship, if you get aggressive, I will block you), or bash/slander any of the characters, other ships, or shippers. Everyone is valid, everyone deserves happiness and love. Don't be a bully.

8) I do not appreciate shippers shitting on other shippers, just because they disagree. If you come to my post or my inbox to talk to me and end up be a shitter, I will be less kind.

8.5) Any hate or rudeness that might find it's way to my inbox, will be posted without a response just so everyone can see what a jerk you are being.

9) I will NEVER make a post with the intent to bash, slander, belittle, or be rude. I also have a separate list of rules/requests for when I do make an analysis/theory post (which will almost certainly be Mileven).

You are free to break any and/or all of these rules on your own blog and in your own posts, as I cannot control what you do. However, I can control what I see, and if I see anything unwanted happening in my posts, I will block you. There is never an appropriate time to ruin someone else's fun.

I try to treat everyone with decency and respect, and I only ask that you do the same for me. The toxic and childish behavior of some fans is, quite possibly, my biggest pet peeve when it comes to this fandom, and I will not put up with it.
