Concussion. Our favorite topic around here. We’ve talked before about how helpful hyperbaric oxygen therapy is for helping to heal the brain after a concussion. But what happens if you’ve had multiple concussions over the years? Or what if you had a concussion 3 years ago, and feel like you never got back to feeling normal?
If you are still struggling with post-concussive symptoms, please give us a call so we can help get healthy faster.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a safe way to decrease the inflammatory process, helping wound healing by reducing pain and swelling, inflammation, and even infection. Patients who use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy before and after cosmetic surgery have a shorter recovery time, have fewer complications, less pain, and show less scarring. #cirurgiaplastica #beforeandafter #lips #hyperbaricoxygen #surgery #holistichealth #hyperbaric #beauty #rhinoplasty #hyperbaricmedicine #facelift #hyperbarics #hyperbarichealing #cosmeticsurgery #skincare #oxygentherapy #plasticsurgeon #repost #fillers #oxygen #aesthetics #hyperbaricoxygentherapy #hyperbaricoxygentreatment #hyperbaricoxygenchamber #hyperbaricchamber #filler #indyvital #fishersindiana #carmelindiana #indy #cosmeticsurgery (at Indy Vital) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF90E7CAL-U/?igshid=oc30bjjxae42

Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment for Post-Surgical Patients
I love seeing post-surgical patients in our office. They see such quick results with hyperbaric oxygen treatments. We know that hyperbaric oxygen helps in at least 2 ways: reduces inflammation and increases oxygen in the body. This helps healing on both fronts. When there is an injury, whether it’s an accident or a surgical incision, blood supply is cut off from that area. If the injury is extensive, it can be difficult to re-establish blood supply quickly. Hyperbaric oxygen helps repair the tissue faster. If you are considering elective surgery, if you’ve had emergency surgery, or if you’ve had an accidental injury, please give us a call and let us show you how to heal faster with hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment For COVID-19 Patients.
Last year, we commented on an article from Argentina about treating Covid 19 patients with hyperbaric oxygen. Now that some time has elapsed and there have been more studies, hyperbaric oxygen treatment is looking like a great option.
Covid 19 virus has been shown to be very inflammatory and can have lasting effects on the lungs leading to low oxygen levels in the body. Hyperbaric oxygen is ideal for these patients, as it can provide more oxygen to the body regardless of the lung’s function. We know that it is also a great anti-inflammatory and the most recent study compares it to steroids with better results because it’s not suppressing the immune system.
We have treated patients in our clinic that have struggled with breathing months after having Covid. And they start to feel better within a few treatments. If you have had Covid and are still struggling to get back to feeling normal, please give our office a call.

Oxygen Therapy Reduce Inflammation And Joint Pain In Rheumatoid Arthritis.
One of the ways through which we understand how Hyperbaric oxygen works is as an anti-inflammatory. There have been numerous studies, using different blood tests and parameters that can specifically show how hyperbaric oxygen lowers multiple inflammatory markers in the blood. I always intuitively felt like it would be good for auto-immune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, but hadn’t seen any recent research.
Now, I have. Last month a new article was published on hyperbaric oxygen therapy and rheumatoid arthritis. I’m excited to see that it lowers inflammation in this particular disease process, but I’m actually more excited to see that it does this by helping to regulate the immune system. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease where our immune system attacks our own joints, which of course can cause inflammation and pain. So, yes, we want to reduce inflammation, but ideally we’d like to calm the immune system down so that it stops attacking our joints. This new article shows that hyperbaric oxygen is doing both.
If we can slow down the immune response against our own tissue, we’re actually able to treat patients on a deeper level and potentially get a longer lasting fix. If you have pain and inflammation, please give us a call so we can start to help you get back to good health.

How Beneficial Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Alzheimer’s Disease
One of my favorite topics to discuss is how Alzheimer’s patients can benefit from hyperbaric oxygen. Maybe because conventional medicine really has no viable treatment options, or maybe because we see how the brain responds so quicky to oxygen. Over the last few years, we’ve seen positive research that shows that hyperbaric oxygen can stop the progression of Alzheimers. That in itself is very exciting. However, earlier this year, new research shows that it can help with the regression of the disease!
Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by plaques that grow in the brain, which then stop the flow of information along the neurons, leading to short term memory loss and ultimately loss of bodily function.Oxygen is the food that feeds our brain cells, allowing us to heal faster.
The research presented earlier this year shows with PET imaging that the brain works better after hyperbaric oxygen. And the patients feel better with less symptoms. What a simple solution for a dramatic problem. If you have someone in your life with Alzheimers, please give us a call and let us show you how hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help.

The Role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Life of Athletes.
One of the places where we see hyperbaric oxygen shine is in the world of sports. Whether it be a concussion, a muscle strain, a broken bone, hyperbaric oxygen helps the body heal faster. However, it can also increase athletic performance.
A new study from January of this year looked at hyperbaric oxygen and exercise and found that 1 hour a week of hyperbaric oxygen therapy increased endurance and interval training capacity. The theory is that it increases oxidative and glycolytic capacity in skeletal muscle. In plain English, hyperbaric oxygen makes the muscles utilize oxygen and sugar better and increases potential for endurance.
1 hour a week to make you a better athlete…that’s better than most of those infomercials trying to sell you the new supplement of the week. JWhere could your game be after 4 weeks of hyperbaric? After 8 weeks? Give us a call to let us help you get healthy.

Migraine headaches!
Migraines can be so debilitating for people that suffer from them. It then comes as no surprise to find that some people may decide to get info on alternative products such as cbd oil or marijuana strains, as this is said to help reduce the pains experienced by migraines. Most people associate them as headaches, which can be treated somewhat easier by reading advice on sites, and you can do this if you were to visit site here. However, they are far worse than just a regular headache. They can last for days, be associated with nausea and vomiting, and can cause significant loss of function and loss of workdays. It can also be frustrating since we as medical practitioners don’t always have a good handle on what is triggering them.

How Effective The Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment For Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is a devastating posttraumatic condition characterized by unrelenting severe pain and disability. It is difficult to treat, as the medical community has had a difficult time understanding the cause. Typically, it is treated with high dose steroids, and, in the worst cases, amputation of the affected limb. We understand that it is inflammatory, and generally happens after a traumatic wound. There is a general consensus that the nerves are involved, and new research is suggesting that there may be an auto-immune component as well.If you or a loved one is suffering from CRPS, please give us a call and let us show you how hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help.

Hyperbaric oxygen helps repair the tissue faster.
Normal oxygen levels are dependent on red blood cells. Oxygen molecules are attached to the red blood cells and they get delivered to every cell throughout the body. When there is an injury and blood flow is disrupted, blood and oxygen supply are limited. Hyperbaric oxygen conditions allow for oxygen to supersaturate the body and now there is some oxygen free-floating in the plasma which can reach the area of the body that has limited blood supply, allowing it to heal faster.

This week, we enjoyed receiving Brian Nash from Perry Baromedical to have our two hospital-grade hyperbaric oxygen chambers maintained and checked. Perry had installed the two chambers when we opened INDY VITAL. Since then, Perry continues to support and maintain our HBOT chambers according to the industry's highest national and international standards. I am proud we have developed this fantastic relationship with Perry; after all, safety is not expensive; it is priceless! #oxygenchamber #portablechambers #wellness #holistichealth #healing #oxygentherapy #hyperbaric #hyperbaricchamber #hyperbarichealing #health #oxynovahyoerbaric #hyperbaricoxygentherapy #oxygen #hyperbaricchamber #oxynova #athlete #hyperbaricmedicine #boxing #hyperbarics #portablechamber #hyperbaricoxygen #hyperbaricoxygentreatment #indyvital #carmelindiana #fishersindiana #indy (at Indy Vital) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF7dgRAAUp8/?igshid=12g3ez61f2ij1

Multiple sclerosis specialist Los Angeles
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an auto-immune disease where the immune system attacks the nerves, causing decreased muscle function. This decreased muscle function may potentially cause unwanted muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain, that alternative treatment like CBD oil can help to manage until a cure can be found. MS can also lead to double vision, as well as, difficulty grasping things, walking, and even urinating. It usually develops slowly and the attacks wax and wane over time. Because of the immune activity it also has an inflammatory component. Eventually the inflammation and ultimate destruction of the tissue becomes bad enough that patients are unable to take care of themselves. We know that oxygen seems to have an affinity for the nervous system and we know that part of how hyperbaric oxygen works is by being anti-inflammatory. Thus it would seem that patients with multiple sclerosis would be the perfect candidates for hyperbaric oxygen treatments. What’s interesting is that the research gives mixed results. There are many research articles that show no significance with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
