One of the funniest things about the Kelvin alternate timeline is the fact that Jonathan Archer is a) still alive, b) still in Starfleet, and c) seems to have taken up breeding beagles whilst teaching courses at the Academy and Scotty lost his best one in a transporter accident.

One of the movie writers even confirmed that this is meant to be that Jonathan Archer, same as the Prime timeline, but this motherfucker is like 146 years old and still turning up to teach these young hooligans that space is dangerous and aliens can be unreasonably mean.

I'm headcanoning that in both timelines the usual lifespan for Humans and Andorians is about 120 years but Archer and Shran are beating the odds by fondly arguing every day with neither wanting to die before getting the last word in. A strategy Bones would later employ. (No, seriously, Bones in the Prime timeline got to 137+. Via spite, I think.)

i’ve run into a few convos where ppl are assuming my Husband doesn’t approve of something I do/say/having a tumblr at all. As well as some polite questions so i just wanted to clarify 💕

i tell my Husband everything i do.

he follows my blog, knows what i post, knows i have dms open. He does not care if i talk to men on here, because he is a very confident man.

he simply doesn’t believe an anonymous stranger online will be able to steal me away when i live with him and im carrying his baby inside me. Nothing i do would ever go beyond flirting, which he does not care about.

i also don’t agree with other men attempting to tell me what i should or shouldn’t be doing because they are not him! i don’t take it as an insult to me, but to my lovely Husband. When I told him about this, he agreed.

He said “My discipline of you is not a community project.”

At length, Rizeth set the washcloth aside, and was then treated to a production of complaint as he persuaded Ashenivir out of the warm bath to be dried. “Cease making a nuisance of yourself,” Rizeth admonished, swatting him on the freshly-bathed backside. Eyes glinting, Ashenivir stuck out his tongue, then quickly fled further reprimand. Listening to his feet thumping down the hallway, Rizeth couldn’t help but smile as he rolled his eyes. Brat. He tracked his wayward husband to the bedroom, where he was knelt by the bed in apparent contrition. Rizeth pulled a black, silk robe from the back of the door and fastened it around himself as he motioned the lights down to a soft, amber glow. “You know exactly what you’ve earned with that little stunt,” he said, collecting a brush and comb from the dresser. “More bruises?” Ashenivir guessed. “A good deal more bruises.”

Sorry for continuing to put that long traditionalist post on your dash, guys. It's really relevant because my favorite youtubers keep making videos related to it, so I'm thinking about it. It's really reiterating to me just how important the virtue of obedience is to me. Maybe it's because I'm a married woman, and so obedience (insofar as biblical obedience and submission is necessary) is something I must practice and think about daily in regards to my husband, I'm realizing that the idea of obedience is so comically removed from public consciousness, especially in America, that people can't even imagine being obedient to their parish priest. Isn't that crazy??! You don't know your parish priest well enough to be obedient to his words or teaching outside of the confessional. Yet you expect others to be? You don't trust your priest enough to be obedient to his teachings in his homilies, yet you expect others to find merit in his words and be converted?

It's sad, and we ought to seek out the priests that we do respect. It will signal to other priests what they are lacking, and we ought to help them grow by giving advice when appropriate.
