Après nous avoir épatés avec Mucho Leo, Cool School dédié à la musique de Michael Franks et The Art of Conversation, le fils du jazzman Ben Sidran revient éclairer nos oreilles de subtils rayons de soleil couchant. On a bien besoin d’un peu de douceur dans l’agitation planétaire et c’est justement ce que propose une nouvelle fois Leo Sidran avec son superbe album What's Trending où la soul, le jazz et le rock californien se mélangent, portés par un impressionnant casting de musiciens comme Janis Siegel (Manhattan Transfer), Louis Cato (le chef d'orchestre de The Late Show avec Stephen Colbert), Jon Lampley (Huntertones), Jake Sherman, Lauren Henderson et Michael Leonhart (Steely Dan).

Le premier extrait s'appelle There was a Fire, et la vidéo met en scène les trois générations « Sidran », Sol, Leo et Ben. Voilà une chanson directement inspirée du livre du même nom de Ben Sidran dont le thème est la contribution des juifs à la musique populaire en Amérique et sur une légende du 18ème siècle, d’origine juive également, qui traite de l’importance de se souvenir de qui vous êtes et d’où vous venez.
