I feel like tnp had the opportunity to like. Expand more on the differences between clans. They could’ve given them different cultures, different perspectives on things. Feathertail and Stormfur are more liberal and relaxed with food, because RiverClan almost always has something to eat. Crowpaw from Perpetually-Starving-WindClan might be more defensive over food, especially with cats of other clans.

It’s often said that the clans should respect each other in spite of their differences, but. WHAT differences? The biggest differences between the clans is where they live and what they eat. Maybe that WindClan cats are tiny.

I don’t care why these cats look different as much as I care as to how they might THINK differently because of how they were raised.

Had the privilege of working on a headshot for @ice-knife of their hunter, Capella from The Northern Passage! ID kindly provided by ice-knife themself! [ID: a full-colour digital portrait of Capella, a fat white person, scowling at something off-screen. They have limp shoulder-length dark red hair, dark brown eyes with a ring of gold around the pupil, a prominent nose, and moles scattered across their skin. They're wearing a metallic grey gorget slightly covered by a grey fur mantle over one shoulder. The background is the same gold as in their eyes. /end ID]

hi!! can we get some kind of visual inspo for the gold rim around MCs eyes? my mc has black eyes and i think the gold looks really cool in theory but is it around the pupil or exterior?

it is around their pupil! we'll use our friend Noel, who is another dark-eyed hunter, to demonstrate :-)

from the most "neutral" appearance -> slight glow in shadows -> glow in the dark/reflective cat eyes -> 🤫

This is so bizarre considering Squirrelflights distrust of Hawkfrost is said last book to have stemmed from Leafpools own experiences with him. Like this makes no sense narratively, what happened to that scene where he held Sorreltail across the border?? Aka the whole reason Leafpool considered him evil? And i guess now that never happened just so we can treat squirrelflight like shes being Dramatic and Prejudiced just because Tigerstar Is their Father. LIKE SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW TIGERSTAR. God i just want this arc to be OVER WITH. And this is only the beginning of the book….

I think almost everyone who was around in tnp should drop dead. From full warriors at least. I'm tired of the same cats over and over again because erins keep recycling characters and refuse to kill anyone. If they'd finally kill squilf or idk, even jayfeather or dovewing or something it'd make more space for actually interesting new cats, because rn, i literally don't give a fuck about the new cats. They are uninteresting, i don't even remember their names half the time, and every other cat is the same personality with a different colour. It's kind of a same problem i have with helluva boss, where i like the idea, but the execution is just "meh". The fact that the erins are kind of trying to one-up themselves with new arcs doesn't help either. I'm tired of reading about some supposedly world shattering event only for firestarclone #122 to swoop in and save the day only for it to repeat again in the next arc.

Went back on my IF reading spree and found The Northern Passage and I just had to do a ref sheet of my girl.

Her name is Freya, she's tortured by the horrors (and a certain handler named Lea Chen but shh) and I love her very much.

She'll let you see her other tattoos if you're really nice to her ;)
