The faces of Aeta peoples. Photos by Ophelia Persson, from “DNA study reveals evidence for the presence of Islander Denisovans in the Philippines” (2021) by Larena Lab, Uppsala University.
Aeta is often used as an umbrella term referring to specific ethnic groups in the Philippines distinguished by their much darker complexions and often curly- to kinky-textured hair, such as the Batak of Palawan and Mamanwa of Mindanao. Due to their distinct physical appearances they are commonly misidentified as modern-day descendants of prehistoric Africans who managed to find their way to the Philippine archipelago in Southeast Asia. In reality, they are descended from the same major populations non-Aeta Filipinos are also descended from, i.e., First Sundaland People and later Austronesian migrants.
Today, Aeta peoples are a recognized albeit underserved minority alongside other (non-Aeta) Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines.

two sides of the same coin
growing up evangelical, women are told that you are not supposed to have any sexual attraction to anyone unless you have an emotional and spiritual connection to them. 'sins of the flesh' is to be attracted to someone for their physicality only. sex is to only occur once you've defined a deep connection. these people/belief system is painted as regressive and anti-sex by progressives.
however, the concept of 'demisexuality' is essentially this exact same belief, only 'queerified' in order for people to keep their leftist progressive card. same coin, different side of the cultural spectrum.
the assumption that everyone experiences attraction in the same way is just that, an assumption. it's a projection. there is a capitalist, individualist urge to want to define yourself against whatever is perceived by your in-group as the 'norm' (of course it is always the out-group that is the norm - never you) it's ok to want a slower, deeper connection with someone before you add sex. it's not a sexual orientation but a personality type. that's valid. people should just let themselves want what they want. you are allowed to just BE and not have to justify your version of attraction.
for every girl that scrolls on tinder all day there is another girl reading a romance novel waiting for the 'one'. that's not a sexual orientation, it's human diversity.

I saw your tags on the bodys in art post and i just wanted to let you know that In a discord i once got yelled at for drawing fingers bending too far back and that nobody in real life can move like that and in response i posted an image of my index finger bent backwards 90 degrees onto a table. hypermobility disorder beloved fully reccomend using ones own body for art refrence for this reason specifically -Folgers official
Oh god yeah, I can imagine. Someone in my immediate family has hypermobility and he can move in ways that look unreal. He can basically dislocate his shoulder blade at will, which he can use to wrap his arm completely around the back of his head way farther than people expect.
This is why you should never say never; There is pretty much always at least one exception.

I think it's important to remember that just because you find someone basic or boring or whatever, you're actually very wrong and they are a unique and layered person with their own complicated life, emotions and interests. They don't have to perform anything to show you how interesting or special they are.
That straight white girl with her stanly cup and sephora makeup doesn't have to show you what makes her 'unique'. The older gentleman who shares conspiracy theories on facebook and mows his lawn early in the morning doesn't have to prove he isn't an 'npc' to you. The woman with the 'Karen' haircut and her son who watches stupid youtube videos don't have to drop everything to demonstrate to you that they can break the stereotypes you've associated with them.
Every person is a real person. Even if you never see them do a thing other than what you expect them to do, they are just as deep and emotional as you are because they are ALIVE! They're real! And they don't owe you a tour into their lives just to prove to you that they have thoughts and feelings! Just because you lack the empathy or understanding to see that someone who doesn't share your same lifestyle, hobbies or stereotypes might actually have a rich and detailed life, doesn't mean you're right.

in my experience, if someone is asking "are you mad at me" they've already decided I am and no matter what I do it's going to end in a fight.
Human behavior is vast and complicated. If you honestly tell someone you are not mad at them and they do not believe you, you may not be able to convince them otherwise. But usually when people ask this, they are not trying to instigate a fight. Usually when someone asks "are you mad at me?" it is because they are afraid.
When someone becomes hypervigilant about other people's behavior, whether that's due to present stress or past trauma, it's understandable that they would want to remove uncertainty from the conversation. This "are you mad at me" is a way of asking "are we both going to be calm about this?"
Perhaps the asker does want comfort and reassurance and is afraid to ask for that directly (although, yes, stating that need openly is usually more helpful). If you find yourself responding, "no, I'm not mad at you" often, you might consider asking if there are other ways this person in your life could ask for reassurance more directly, or if there's something you could say or do that would remind them that you care.
Or perhaps they aren't usually good at reading body language, or tone over text. "Are you mad at me" is not usually intended as an accusation--the asker may be trying to prevent a miscommunication.
Or perhaps you, the askee, are unintentionally giving off signals that you are irritated or stressed, and the asker is trying to figure out if their behavior is what's causing that so they can change it.
There is no one universal "are you mad at me." But it would be cool if there were and it always resolved tension and improved everyone's mood. That would be nice.

My thoughts here mainly revolve around YSA as the mary sue/female lead type character:
She goes from being this perfect woman to. just being a woman. And my idea is that the weight gain isn't there to make her "unconventionally attractive," or whatever other dumb phrase you wanna use to avoid calling someone ugly, but to make her conventionally attractive, yet realistic.
Instead of looking like a skinny waifu character, she looks like a skinny human woman. Her hair swaying in the nonexistent wind isn't as perfect, her magic blush is missing and she has eyebags. She's still hot, just more human.

My controversial opinion about Hob Gadling is that I believe he’s absolutely the sort of guy that “puts things behind him”, and tries to wash his hands clean of the things he feels icky about. This is implied pretty well in the show, with him blithely moving from soldiering and robbery to printing, from slaving to… whatever it was he was doing in the 19th century instead. That being said, this is not at all the same as actively trying to atone, or even making a concerted effort to be a better person, and I really wish fandom could tell the difference!
