Can you believe they had the nerve, the gall, the gumption to cut when book Peeta says “You here to finish me off, sweetheart?”, one of the most iconic lines that established his flirty personality and cute banter with Katniss?? He’s literally in immense pain, dying from a leg injury, buried under a wall of mud that’s infecting the wound, and still has the energy to tease her. Not to mention the innuendo, come on.

never let it be said that shen yuan doesnt fight for his man with bloody teeth
he started off already risking being sent back to his dead body to protect baby binghe the best he could on his first meeting and then continued to do so once the ooc shackles came off, made sure he felt loved and safe and at home on cqm, gave him every advantage he could think of (and then wondered why binghe got out of the abyss 2 yrs early, honey...), but bc those scum villain blinders were on so tight, he doesnt accept that he (the man shen yuan inside the character shen qingqiu) can change his own path enough to not be killed, and plans his own death accordingly bc he wont ever fight against binghe again if he can help it, i just...
this man loves binghe so much that he couldnt even conceive of a world in which binghe loves him back - and thats not just the comphet olympics in his brain talking, sy genuinely believes he's unlovable and only maybe sort of likeable by his fellow peak lords, and part of that comes from being forced into a scum villains role and not knowing the bigger picture behind sqq's actions (not even touching on how sy barely saw the entire cast of pidw as people until binghe actually looked hurt to him), but the rest was already preprogrammed before he transmigrated, and i want to know who hurt him so bad - bc all sy could imagine is that the whole world should love binghe, bc thats howmuch sy loves him the story is supposed to go, but all he could imagine for himself was gratitude at best and his demise at worst, until the very moment that it becomes clear that lbh has done everything, fucking EVERYTHING, to get sqq to love him back and i just SCREAMS
i cant imagine that sy would just let binghe go if he should ever decide to love someone else, the possession goes both ways with these two, and sy would fight tooth and nail to keep binghe for himself

I've been working on catching up on the event stories since they announced the upcoming main story update! (I totally bombed the last few events...they're so fast-paced and I just didn't have time...😭)
and then of course they went and dropped THIS on us today

Yandere! Assassin x Noble! Reader
Tumblr media
Spencer has always disliked people. They’re too loud, too annoying, too cruel. Even then, it’s not as if Spencer disliked people enough to kill them. It’s just that being an assassin is something that he’s good at. It pays his bills and he doesn’t really have to talk to a lot of people. What’s not to love?
Well, sure, maybe the murder part is a little… morally questionable. But all of Spencer’s targets have been morally questionable people anyway.
So many people have heaps and heaps of skeletons in their closet – they really don’t have any room to judge him.
Speaking of skeletons, Spencer is pretty certain that his newest client has a few. Geoffrey Cullen, the Head Butler of the Arrington Estate… on the surface, he looks quite put together, but Spencer can’t help but find Geoffrey’s smile suspicious. But money is money and to be honest, Spencer could really care less.
Or, that’s what Spencer would like to think, but this assignment is a little… different from his other ones. This time, he’s being commissioned to be the personal assassin of the Arrington Estate on a trial basis. If his work is satisfactory, he’ll be hired full time. It’s… not a bad deal, really, but who has this many targets? Especially a butler of all people?
Spencer quickly finds out that he was hired to protect you, the heir to the Arrington Estate. Spencer isn’t entirely sure why you need all this protection and while he wouldn’t really care normally… he can’t help but be curious. He ends up watching you throughout the day when he’s not working. You’re… surprisingly fun to look at. You seem to be a hard worker and very kind. He likes looking at the various expressions that cross your features. He likes watching you banter with your workers. And, well, it’s weird to say, but… he kind of just likes watching you in general.
In some ways, he thinks you’re kind of… different from other people. A lot less annoying and loud and definitely not… cruel. Even in spite of your Father’s viciousness, you never seem to stoop as low as him. Spencer finds that admirable.
And well, maybe he finds you a little cute. And pretty. He’s never really thought that way about another human being before, so it’s all so new. But Spencer doesn’t dislike it – no, he actually rather likes finding joy in watching you and thinking you’re cute and all that.
So, he really can’t help but put his best foot forward so that he can continue watching you for years and years to come. Maybe if he does good enough, he’ll be the Arrington Estate’s personal assassin long term, which would then allow him to watch you as much as he’d like. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll be able to talk to you (and maybe you’ll even know his name)!
Sure, he’ll stutter the entire time and he probably won’t be able to meet your eyes. But just imagining your smile directed at him? Oh, it makes butterflies swarm in his belly even as he slits the throat of one of your potential suitors.
As Spencer leisurely cleans his bloodsoaked blade while sitting on a tree, he can’t help but think of how exciting his future looks when you’re there.
Really, it’s just all so exciting.

I am fully in support of all of those posts that critique fandom's obsession with making the clones completely Mandalorian in every way curse you Traviss, and I think it's valid to take a second look at the impulse, but I also take umbrage with the idea that the clones have nothing to do with Mandalorian culture at all. Literally the most visible clone in the whole of TCW wears jaig eyes, used the same way the Mandalorians use them, and so do multiple other clones. Multiple clones also picked Mando'a names for themselves, or wear traditional Mandalorian hairstyles, and Boil isn't the only clone who wears some sort of Death Watch insignia (which is fascinating in its own right).
There's just - nuance to all of it, I think. The clones aren't wholly Mandalorian, but they aren't not Mandalorian either. Whatever canon you want to take re: Jango and the trainers he picked, the clones clearly picked up bits of the culture from them, whether because of or despite them. Especially considering Mandalorian culture was largely spread through conquest originally, and adoption, the clones have as much of a right to it as anyone, and writing that off or ignoring the fact that at least some of them clearly do consider themselves part of the culture in some way removes a lot of the grey area from them as their own thing, imo.
The clones are a grey area, as a whole. I think that's part of the tragedy of them. They don't have one people who are their own except other clones. They don't have one specific homeworld or culture. They were created literally to die as cannon fodder, and they made themselves into a people despite that. Taking away one of the major pieces they incorporated into their lives (in strict canon, even if you want to ignore everything Traviss ever touched) is weird and overlooks a lot of what's presented about the clones in TCW.
They don't have to be perfectly Mandalorian in every way. That's just as much of an injustice to them. But removing the Mandalorian bits entirely strips away a lot of how they clearly see themselves, too.

I love the idea of Cale getting flirted with and it just absolutely flying over his head. Regardless of whether he's aroace, aro, ace or neither, at his core Cale is OBLIVIOUS to how people view him.
It gets even better if his protective family knows EXACTLY what's going on, and are determined to keep everyone away.
Some visiting noble at a gala spends a few hours chatting him up, and the whole time, Cale thinks they're just trying to use him to get to his friends. Either by making a good impression by being friendly, or he's trying to manipulate Cale into giving away secrets. Jokes on him, Cale would never reveal their secrets and plans so easily, and definitely not for free! Meanwhile, Choi Han, Alberu and Eruhaben are just glaring this man down, and keep interrupting their conversation when they can. Alberu makes sure he isn't invited back.
Some lady tries to trap Cale in a scandal but Roslyn just pops up and demands to know how she could ever even think the Young Master wants her when Roslyn is right there. Cale of course thinks this means the young lady is trying to replace Roslyn as Owner of the Magic Tower, and sends her off before she can get another word in. He worked way too hard to get Roslyn her tower and position, no way is he going to let some random person steal it. The next day rumours float around that Cale will only consider eligible young ladies who are extremely proficient in magic. The Roan Kingdom's number of mages grows exponentially in a few months.
As Cale grows older, more people approach him expressing a desire to "have his children". The first time Cale hears this, he grabs Raon, On and Hong and books it out of there before these kidnappers can make their move. How prepared were they to take the kids if they had the guts to tell him to his face?! The kids aren't allowed out of sight for a week, and enjoy the extra pampering, even as the others hunt down anyone who might consider blatantly propositioning Cale.
Cale gets tired of people approaching him with their weird questions and asks Raon to keep a permanent shield around him so that no one can get too close unless allowed. To the public and many of his family, however, this just looks like Cale is so worried and stressed that he's had to keep his shield up just to have some peace. The people band together to defend their hero, and soon no one approaches Cale unless he approaches them first. Children are given a free pass, but anyone else who tries is quickly intercepted by random passerbys. Cale believes people are nervous, intimidated, or have finally stopped considering him to be a major hero.
