Was feeling a bit angsty last night in the AYCF server, so I decided to draw this beginning of that one scene in chapter 7.

a little missing scene with Attolia Irene and her father-in-law, drawn at the beginning of last year. After all the building and breaking emotions of the Trial and the conversation afterward, this line was such a perfect shock, packed with pain and humor and promise.

omg I wish I was a better worldbuilder, people come up with so many fun fake little holidays. Thanks to that one throwaway line in ST:D I've unilaterally decided that Cardassian culture is very food-centric, so you know baby Iskra got taken to lots of street food festivals celebrating military victories and elections..

Halloween is a safe bet, I think. Scaring the spirits away is vaguely Hebetian and the locals enjoy both tricks and treats. Julian gives his coworkers at the hospital candy to distribute to her.

Still got to be lots of nationalist holidays to celebrate after the war, but now they're very much tinged with bitter memories. Now they're more of an opportunity to complain about the current administration and get drunk (both activities Iskra vigorously enjoys as an adult)

AYCF Sparks Part 1: The Alternate (Angst) Ending to chapter 15.

Finally, here is part 1 of AYCF: Sparks, the companion piece that contains all the cut content and other things that didn't make it into AYCF proper. I don't know how long this will be because I'm still on the fence about whether to share some of the cut content or some of it may become a one-shot. But we still have 18 chapters left to go in AYCF, so there will be more stuff that will be cut.

This first part is what you all voted on that you wanted to see first, which is the alternate ending to chapter 15 or, as I like to call it, the angst ending. Seeing as most of this stuff was on the cutting room floor as to say, it is not beta read. This ending is dark, so I am honestly glad you chose the non-angst ending.
