Italian artist Gaetano Pesce was commissioned to interpret a hectare of olive trees in Carovigno countryside, in Puglia, Italy by creating a series of playful holiday homes.

Commissioned by Caterina Tognon of Caterina Tognon Arte Contemporaneo, the two mini houses are the portrait of the gallerist and her husband with faces full of expression – pink for her and blue for him.

Together with architects Gabriele Pimpini and Cosimo Cardone of Studio Talent, Gaetano Pesce created a playful example of contemporary architecture in a context saturated in history, effortlessly straddling the worlds of visual art and contemporary design.

The houses are clad in tinted polyurethane, a versatile material readily used for insulation purposes. Pesce’s work has often concentrated on the research of new materials, having experimented with polyurethane since the 1970s.

‘Pescetrullo’ has become one of the most innovative examples of polyurethane used in a permanent architectural setting, which affords the houses with passive thermal properties. As a result, they require virtually little heating during winter and conversely, cooling in summer.

luke is allergic to boonaberries. obi-wan, who had just been starting down the path to healing and self-acceptance, is thrown back to square one on the guilt and infinite sadness path and also never forgives himself and spends one (1) supper staring at (a covered in hives) luke slurping at his stew and wondering if he should give the kid to yoda to raise because obviously kenobi is going to kill another skywalker he's rearing in single-momdom.

then that night he's putting luke to bed after giving him herbal remedy for the itching and luke says 'goodnight dad' and obi-wan nearly has a heart attack. he also cries a lot. the guilt gets worse, but he's also very warm inside. full of love.

but he does insist luke calls him ben and not dad because he has a dad and also obi-wan's once again courting attachment with a skywalker while being very hung up on the importance of no attachments.

Excuse me as I relive my childhood by watching Bear in the Big Blue House. But seriously, this was the one show from Playhouse Disney I watched all the time. Even when we went to the MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios), I made sure to go to the stage show just for Bear in the Big Blue House.

If you want to know more about this beloved show, I highly suggest watching Defuntland's DefuntTV episode of the show. It is very fascinating.

Something I noticed about Universal owning DreamWorks, they seem to be treating DreamWorks with respect. The creators of The Mario Movie are helping Dreamworks out with Shrek 5. They advertised Trolls 3 by putting the trailer before The Mario Movie. The same Mario Movie that I'm pretty sure is gonna break the box office and get tons of people watching. Trolls is considered a loved franchise by the younger audience, so it's not as popular as HTTYD or Kung Fu Panda. So it's kinda a hidden gem for kids. And seeing Illumination advertis it in front of their biggest film like this, it's cute and nice to see. They could've chosen Ruby the Teenage Kraken, but that film already got tons of attention because of the Little Mermaid. So they chose the one that was struggling to be seen.

What I'm saying is, I was a little concerned Universal would treat Dreamworks like an outsider. In the same way, Disney shut down Blue Sky studios after buying it. And then took two of Blue Sky's biggest films, Ice Age and Rio, and beat out more films and cash out of them. Creating a lifeless sequal, Buck spin-off film on Disney + and making a Rio 3. I guess I'm still down about Disney killing off Blue Sky's studios. That studio was just harmless. They created cute and charming films like Robots and Ferdinand. They were average and made an average amount of cash, but imagine what their style of storytelling could've become with some help by a studio that has a similar form of storytelling? And then we have Disney killing off The Owl House and ending serialized shows. The way they treated The Owl House is just horrible. Strange World isn't anything special either, but they did little to no advertising for it.

I guess what I'm saying is, I'm just glad that Universal and Illumination are treating DreamWorks and their creations right. Unlike Disney with some of their properties. Just hope the HTTYD live action film is good and not lifeless.

I have this tea cup I made in highschool (it’s really cute and was designed more like those Japanese ones without a handle than it was those fancy English style with even more elements to them) but I never actually asked if the glaze we used was food safe (we all used the same glaze on those cups specifically because the teacher glazed those ones in particular and I don’t remember checking. I glazed and painted every other project but only one of them was something you would use for food and that thing broke a few years ago and was honestly more decorative) and this has haunted me ever since. It’s a super cute cup and I adore it, but I have no idea if I can use it for its intended purpose and while I could buy a lead testing kit I’m not sure how I would check for anything else that might have been in that glaze. I know the color used but not the brand, so that’s not really a help either. The teacher I had left the district after that year because our school district paid art teachers a shit wage and we rotated through them like elementary school kids needing new shoes every year. I’m not entirely sure how I would contact her, but even if I did track her down (something not entirely impossible from what I know about her life outside of teaching us for a year, I would feel slightly weird about it though, even though she was my favorite art teacher) but I highly doubt she would remember something like the glaze she used on one project her students made at a school she taught at for one year. I’m not sure what other testing kits I would need besides lead to confidently say it’s safe enough for my personal use, and it’s annoyed me for several years now.

New Delft Blue archways wrapped in 3,000 unique 3D-printed ceramics tiles

Architecture practice Studio RAP has combined algorithmic design and 3D printing to create a pair of archways informed by Delft Blue porcelain at the PoortMeesters housing in the Netherlands.

Named New Delft Blue, the archways were designed to frame entrances to a courtyard garden at the centre of the housing development in Delft designed by The Hague-based VY Architects.

They were constructed using 3,000 unique tiles that were 3D-printed and arranged in a pattern determined by an algorithm created by Studio RAP.
