when you’re sick
Tumblr media
includes gojo satoru, nanami kento, fushiguro megumi, itadori yuji, inumaki toge, okkotsu yuta
a/n: hi friends !! here are some headcanons on how the boys are when you’re sick </3 ty for the request and let me know what y’all think !! i also have a megumi drabble w sick!reader if u wanted more tooth rotting fluff :]
masterlist
— gojo satoru !
surprises you with how easily he slips into the role of a caretaker, immediately diagnoses you with ease and is providing you the perfect medicine to remedy your illness
“drink this tea i made it’ll help clear your nose up and help with your cough,” you state at him skeptically, but sure enough within the hour you feel better than you had the past few days
when you ask him how he just knows all these things he smiles fondly, “megumi went through a phase where he got sick quite often so i picked up a couple things”
cuddles you despite your protests of getting him sick, hits you with ‘im the strongest’ before pulling you into his chest, a smile on his face when you’re asleep within minutes
isn’t a great cook but he orders you so many soups and foods that know will be good for you !! wakes you up between naps to make sure you eat food and drink water, pedialite or gatorade
he finds you so adorable when you’re sick :( you’re just so clingy and soft and you need him there with you and it’s finally him taking care of you rather than the other way around and he’s just so happy to be the one taking care of you <3
“i know i look terrible right now” you chuckled and gojo only shook his head, smoothing your hair to make it look less of a mess and kissing your forehead
“you could never look terrible to me, lovebug” maybe it was the slightly high feeling from the nyquil or maybe this was all a fever dream but your bottom lip wobbled a bit as you looked at your lover
he’d never seemed more angelic than he did now, the sun rising casting a glow around his snowy hair, his beautiful blue eyes peering over the sunglasses he’d get to take off from his medicine run, his touch was relaxing as you melted into it
“i love you, angel boy” you mumbled, placing a kiss to his cheek before fluttering your eyes closed and drifting to sleep
gojo was left with a smile on his face, his cheeks rosy as he replied to you, “and i love you sweetheart”
— nanami kento !
warned you to take some medicine two days before you got even more sick but you brushed it off, “I’m not even sick this is just because of the change in weather” he’ll shake his head
it’s 1:47 am two days later when he reads the text you’ve sent him ‘i have a fever :(’ he can’t help the snicker that leaves his mouth as he slips on some pants and a shirt, heading out the door and on his way to yours
he takes your temperature by kissing your forehead
if you don’t have any medicine at yours he’ll probably just ask if it’s okay for you to go to his and if you say yes he’ll grab a couple changes of clothes for you, packing your bathroom stuff in a baggy and carrying to his car, placing you softly in the passenger seat, buckling your seatbelt before rushing to the drivers side and heading back home
if you decide you’d rather stay home he’ll rush to his place and come back with all his medicine and things to make good herbal teas
brings half his damn fridge to make you soup tomorrow morning because he does not plan on leaving your side until you’re better !!!
makes the best chicken noodle soup you’ve ever had, he smiled when you finish your entire bowl, happy that at least you haven’t lost your appetite
makes sure to do everything to keep your fever down, a frown on his face when you since as he takes away your blankets and presses cold towels to your feverish skin
comforts you all night, holds you tightly to his body when you tell him how much your body aches
makes sure you stay on schedule with medicine, cooking you light meals to keep down, will even spoon feed you
tells you how proud he is of you for finishing your food before telling you to drink some water and get rest :-(
cleans your apartment for you, does your laundry if you have some piled up, will help you shower if your fever has been gone for long enough but you feel too exhausted
when you’re finally feeling better he kisses your forehead, grabbing his keys and you’re pouting on the couch, “going to work already?” he can’t help but smile at how hard you were trying to hide how sad you were
“I’m going to get us more groceries, i won’t be long” a smile on his face when your face relaxes a bit, “i promise” he reassures, walking over and kissing your cheek before waving goodbye and hurrying back to you
once you’re all healthy you invite him for dinner, cooking him his favorite thing you make and buying some dessert for the two of you to share
“thank you for taking care of me” you smile, your head resting on his firm chest, his arm that was draped over your shoulders pulled you in tighter
“I’ll take care of you any time you need me, my love”
he’s perfect :(
— fushiguro megumi !
when you tell him you’re sick he wants to drop everything and just be by your side, he knows how stubborn you can be and he wants to make sure you actually take care of yourself rather than brushing your needs off
shows up at your door with all kinds of medicine, takes you’re temperature and has you sit on the couch, asking if you’ve taken medicine or not
can tell pretty quickly if you have a cold or something else, giving you the appropriate medicine and putting away the others in your designated medicine cabinet or nook
makes you a packet of maggi soup because he doesn’t know if he trusts himself enough to make good enough chicken noodle soup that you’ll actually keep down
becomes so soft !!! with h be smiling at you the entire time to make you feel better, tells you anecdotes and listens to his favorite songs with you <3
will put on your favorite movies and watch them in bed with you, promising he won’t get sick from a couple cuddles
laughs at all of your lame jokes instead of rolling his eyes like usual, he thinks it’s the least he can do when you’re running a high fever and you’re slightly delirious
will try his best to be with you at all times but if there’s a mission he has to take or gojo won’t stop bothering him about he will text you or call you to make sure you eat and take medicine
says he hates dealing with you for the 15 minutes it takes for nyquil to fully kick in but he secretly loves how you’ll start serenading him with whatever song he played last or how you tell him you could beat his ass even in this condition
followed by a pathetic attempt of a punch which he allows to hit him, “okay let’s calm down Muhammad Ali” you giggle at his comment
“you’re so funny gumi! why don’t you ever tell anyone else jokes?” he blushes and shakes his head, finishing tucking you in and placing a kiss on your nose
“i save the best ones for you, pretty” you smile widely, your eyelids becoming heavier with every passing moment
“love you megumi” you murmur, instinctively curling into his side, he blushes and your breathing evens out, “i love you more,” he replies in a gentle whisper
when the others find out all he’s done for you while you were sick they call him when they get sick, only for him to hang up the phone after telling them to look it up
— itadori yuji !
poor angel boy assumes the worst and races over to your place in fear that you’re dying
“y/n?! are you alright?” the concern is evident in his voice and even more obvious when you see his brows intensely furrowed and lips sitting in a small pout
“yuj, i said i was coughing a lot and might be sick not that i was on the brink of death” he scratches the back of his neck sheepishly with the smallest of smiles
honestly doesn’t know what to do, he never really got sick and his grandfather always took care of himself enough where yuji didn’t have to worry
asks you what your symptoms are and you roll your eyes, deciding to entertain him for a bit
his eyes are wide as web MD practically tells him you’re dying in two hours and there’s no cure for your ailments
“I’m sorry i didn’t buy you flowers everyday, im sorry i didn’t get us concert tickets for the group you liked please forgive me when you pass on!” there’s a couple tears in his eyes and you almost feel bad for laughing
“yuji, lover boy, it’s probably just my allergies, im not gonna die” “oh? why didn’t you say so earlier” his tears are gone and he’s seemingly perfectly composed and you can’t help but fall a little harder for the dork in front of you
he’ll buy you medicine so long as you tell him what kind, and he’ll cook some meatballs for you to eat, happy that he’s keeping you fed and not completely useless
will cuddle with you if you get a fever, holding your impossibly close to him, whispering sweet nothings in your ears so you could get some rest
he’ll do anything you need him to do so that you can rest with peace of mind, laundry? done, dishes? washed, floor? sweeped and moped, you have any assignments or something you have to turn in while you’re sick? he’s asking nobara for her to chegg account or googling how to do it
doesn’t let you do a single thing until you’re better !! even helps you shower, sings for you while he shampoos and conditions your hair, if it’s long enough to make a spikes or a mohawk he will definitely do it
just such a sweet kind soul that will provide you with anything you need while you’re sick, and though the first time he’s inexperienced, by the time you get sick again he’s ready with any and all medicines and tea remedies to help nurse you back to health <3
— inumaki toge !
competes with nanami for best personal nurse !!! absolutely will do the most to get you healthy again
“sorry toge, gonna have to cancel our date for tonight i think I’m getting a fever” you spoke over the phone, “mustard leaf?” “my body just really hurts and i feel a little hot, you don’t have to come over i don’t wanna get you sick”
“bonito flakes” he frowns, hanging up the phone before you can protest already making his way to yours, stopping by the store to buy a couple things for you
amazing cook !!! makes you all sorts of things that have all the vitamins and things you need that aren’t too heavy
gives you pedialite to keep you hydrated and makes sure you drink every last drop of it
very firm when it comes to you taking your medicine, doesn’t care if you hate it or think you’re all better, you will be drinking the disgusting cherry flavor he bought (turns out you were not better as you almost got a fever that night had it not been for taking the medicine earlier)
#1 cuddler !!! “i don’t wanna get you sick” a pout on your face, inumaki shakes his head, “fish flakes” you giggle as he works his way next to you, “everyone gets sick, you’re saying you’ve never been sick?” “salmon”
he’s so warm and welcoming and you’re immediately melting into his arms so you choose to believe that he won’t get sick as you snore softly on his chest
won’t let you use more than one blanket if you have a fever, places damp towels on your body to control your fever, apologizes in kisses and cuddles along with amazing soup
will get you anything you need from the store so that you can take time to fully recover and sleep, never telling you how much it was even though he’s also buying you snacks and ice cream
absolutely will binge watch a tv show with you !! you guys get absolutely hooked on Hell’s Kitchen, blowing through an entire season in one day
toge grows convinced Gordon Ramsey would be a terrible curse to exorcise, you can’t help but giggle at his words
he is just so caring and amazing and will get you to pristine condition in no time :( as soon as you’re better you pepper his face in kisses and make him burst into a fit of giggle
you definitely take him out on a much deserved date afterwards (he gets food poisoning and then you have to take care of him) (he denies that this counts as being sick)
— okkotsu yuta !
gets so worried !! that poor boy is asking questions faster than you can answer on the other end of the line
“do you have a fever? a cough? food poisoning? is there medicine at home? I’m on my way back” you don’t get to argue before you hear the tone of him hanging up
it’s a while later that he shows up, taking you in his arms and kissing your forehead, “you’re burning up! we have to get you out of these layers what are you thinking?” leads you to bed, shocked at how many blankets you were in before his arrival
changes you into shorts and one of his t shirts, asking if you’ve eaten before he even hands you medicine
if you hadn’t he’ll whip up something quick, making sure you eat everything before giving you medicine and placing you in his lap, smoothing down your hair and talking to you about his day as you struggle to stay awake
places you in bed and ticks you in, cleaning up any tissues that were on the nightstand or on the floor, washing the dishes and putting your clothes to wash
he’s preparing dinner for the two of you when he hears you quiet calls for him
“yuta?” your voice is small and he’s next to you almost instantly, “what is it baby?” he frowns when he takes your temperature again, even higher than before
he’ll give you some more medicine, getting in bed with you and cuddling you to warm you up, his chest tightening as he feels your body shake a bit
makes you lots of teas for you to drink throughout the day, gives you so much water and soups !!!
when you’re okay enough to shower he’ll change your sheets, wash your pillows and blankets and set out fresh cleans for you
babies you so so much <3 doesn’t let you lift a finger and will get you absolutely anything you want (he has to remember to cancel his free trial on Hulu since you wanted to watch rio but neither of you had the streaming service)
very gentle with you !! brushes your hair out of your face with the softest touch in the world, his calloused fingers just barely touching your skin
will lay in bed with you for as long as you want, running a calming hand up and down your back or arm until you sleep or he gets up to get you something you need
he is just so attentive and sweet the entire time, never once missing the chance to tell you how much he loves and cares for you

Thought Id repost my old art series from last year about my fae ocs i keep drawing again [ here 1 and here 2 ] 🌷🌷🌷 this story was drawn by me and written by @widdlefangs as a collab based on this prompt
| A young boy was visited by royal fae guards one day, who so happen to have searched far and wide… for his little home economics project |
“The Boy and the Flower”
Perhaps it was a memory, or just the vivid imagination of a lonely child. But he swore that there was a time he was a protector of the woodland realm. He wasn’t particularly special in any way or form, but one thing he did have was his undeniably vivid imagination. The conjured sight of a knight, a cricket, and their sparrow mount, kindly requesting him for his 1st grade home economics project. “What shall it be sir, that eases your heart in parting with your callalily treasure? Be it great or many, we are prepared to compensate you for such a loss,” said the knight. “Our Queen is gravely ill, and your flower is the only remedy,” he stutters, an aching worry deep-set in his eyes, “we folk do not usually take any thing that doesn’t belong to us…maybe borrow a little here and there… but as a token of our respect, we humbly ask for your permission. Thus, young one, what shall it be?”
Looking back, he could have asked for riches or the rarest jewels, but his young mind was bereft of that adult greed, instead he asked, “Take me with you then, let me give it to her myself.” ---
The flower was not particularly special in any way or form, he thinks. Just a bloom that is as beautiful as any other bloom. He follows the knight’s quickened footsteps as best as he can into the chamber of the Queen.
He did not even have the luxury of beholding the majesties of the realm around him.
There beyond the sheer curtains was, whom he assumed was the Fae King, the crown of ancient wood resting upon his troubled brow, and in his arms, the pale husk of a Queen.
He falls to his knees and the King, in his worried state, wordlessly beckons for him to feed the bloom to the Queen. Laboriously, she takes the fragile petals between her cold lips.
She lays still for a moment, and perhaps a moment too long, until her chest rises, rises still, and she floats as the light consumes her fully, and the little boy beholds her in naked flame, terrible and divine in all her splendor.  ---
“Well then,” she swirls around him like the wind, “who is the young one who gave up his greatest treasure to save my life?”
She took small his hands between his, the pale golden warmth speaking true that she yet draws breath.
“It’s only a flower, not really special. It’s no big deal,” he grinned his little gap-tooth grin. “I can grow more if you like, my teacher just said I need more seeds.”
He looked at the plant, now quite more plain looking without its white crown, yet still stands proud, a stubborn stalk.
The Queen gently tilts his chin up, “It was not the flower, my dear one, that cured me. It was your gift.”
---
“And then what happened after that?” piped up his dear friend, who was clinging to her seat in anticipation.
“And then,” he prompted, “they gave me this cool pin!” he declared, proudly brandishing a metal flower refrigerator magnet, tied on a piece of yarn.
“I am an official protector of the woodland realm, and a savior of her Majesty, the Fae Queen!”
His friends cheered for him, and after a day playing in the neighborhood park, they decided to get some yoghurt from the local store.
Prior to his little adventure, he believed himself not special in any particular way or form, just like his little flower.
But just like his little unassuming calla lily, his courage saved the Queen.
He didn’t need to imagine it at all.
END.

Here's a little something for my mutual @lost-in-the-forest-again. She was sick recently, so I wrote this fluffy little sick fic for her...
Scientifically Accurate Angel

Plot: During a walk around Manhattan to clear his head, Otto stumbles across a sick woman that's passed out on the sidewalk. Moved with compassion, he and the actuators gather her and her belongings and bring her to their new hideout. But Otto soon realizes that he's beginning to develop feelings for this strange woman, due to how much she reminds him of Rosie.

The blistering pain of your sudden headache rang through your skull and cranium, suddenly waking you up in an unknown location.
You gently blink, trying not to irritate your headache more. But as you do, you get better sight of the room you're in.
It was a quaint little space, but staged like a cozy hotel room in the middle of the city.
The walls were a warm chestnut and the bed you found yourself in was plush and wide, decorated with earthy bedding.
Ahead of you was a small desk and whiteboard covered with equations. And next to that was a dresser and a TV atop of it. But your eyes squinted when you noticed a light blinking as loud footsteps cratered the floor below you.
Eyes still squinted, you jolted a bit when you noticed a curious actuator bulging out at you.
Were you in Doc Ock's hideout?
You didn't really have time to really think about it before the actuator gently pushed you down on the bed and pulled the covers over you again. It gently patted your shoulder after, before disappearing in the corner where the light flashed again.
"She's awake?" you heard a gruff voice ask. "Does she seem stable?"
But there was no answer.
"Oh, good. I was worried," he answered back to silence.
You were more than puzzled, but pretended to be asleep when he finally revealed himself from the lit-up corner.
He was just as big and tall as you figured, but almost teddy bear like. His dark brunette hair was all over his head, his cheeks were red flushed from the cold, and in his hand was a bag of medicine and other remedies for you.
Although you didn't know that yet.
"Looks like she fell back to sleep, Flo," he said with a little giggle. "She's quite beautiful. Reminds me of my Rosie."
Flo rubbed his cheek after he said that, knowing he would cry if she didn't.
"Thanks, Flo," he said, making the actuator buzz happily. "We should let her rest some more. I'll tend to her once she's up again."
The actuator nodded.
"Glad we're on the same page. Now back to my work."
Five minutes later, you finally woke fully up again. You blinked and saw he was focused on his whiteboard, writing more equations down.
He looked so cute focused, you almost didn't want to bother him. However, Flo beat you to it.
She immediately noticed you were awake again and notified Otto. Swiftly, he turned around and just smiled at you before making his way over to the bed.
"I'm glad you're awake," he said, softly caressing your face. "I was so worried."
"How did I end up here?" you asked, holding your throbbing head.
"We found you laying in the street," he answered. "We thought you were dead at first until Moe felt a pulse. So we gathered you and your belongings and brought you here."
"Oh, I didn't realize I passed out. I had to leave work early because of my throbbing headache and body aches."
"You might have the flu," Otto suggested. "But that's okay. I got a couple of different medicines from Duane Reade to take care of you."
"Oh, thank you. But I don't want to burden you. Seems like you're busy."
"Nonsense," he assured. "I don't mind. Unless you have someone at home that can take care of you."
"No," you solemnly answered. "It's only me and a sad studio apartment."
"Then it's settled. You can stay here until you get well," he happily said. "I also bought some soup if you would like some. Maybe it will help you gain some energy back."
"Soup does sound good. But why are you being so kind to me?" you asked, acting ignorant to his comment earlier.
"I feel it's a way for me to make up for my wrongdoings. I want to help mankind again, even if that means starting with helping you get better."
You blushed.
"Thanks."
"No problem," he said as he squeezed your hand and kissed it. "Now lie back down. I'm gonna go make that soup for you and get that medicine together."
"Okay," you said, obeying his command.
"Flo, keep her company," he said as she remained while he turned the corner.
"Hi again, Flo," you greeted, before she buzzed and flashed yellow. You were confused, until she laid against your stomach.
You giggled, but pet her. However, you didn't realize that Otto felt that too.
"Ooh, that tickles," he exclaimed.
"Wait, you felt that?"
"I feel whatever they feel. They're attached to my spine," he explained as he began to cook the soup.
"Oh, right. I'll stop then," you said, before Flo started whining.
"Flo likes your touch. It's fine. You can keep petting her. I'll live."
"Umm, okay," you moaned as you kept petting the actuator. She joyfully purred, cuddling even closer to you.
"She's cute," you said.
"Thank you. They're basically curious puppies now since I have a new inhibitor chip. They love interacting with new humans. I'm glad she likes you already, but Flo is the kindest one after all."
"I can tell."
"Your soup is almost done," he announced. "What medicine would you like to take? I got Motrin, Tylenol, Sudafed, or Benedryl."
"Give me a Tylenol," you replied. "Is it cold and flu?"
"And fast acting."
"Perfect," you say before the pot starts to sizzle on the stove.
"Soup's done," he announced. "Small bowl?"
"Yes, please," you answered back.
"Alright," he replied. "And I need two Tylenols...thank you, Moe. Okay, I'm coming back in."
You giggled, trying not to blush again when you saw him walking in with a tray, his chest now covered over with an apron.
Gently, he placed the tray over your lap after Flo moved and sat down by your side.
"Would you like me to feed it to you or can you manage?"
"I mean I can manage, but I don't mind you feeding me."
He giggled.
"Okay," he hummed as he grabbed the spoon. "Here comes the plane!"
"I'm not a child," you playfully huffed.
"Compared to me, you are," he chuckled before he properly fed you your first bite. "How old are you anyway?"
"30," you replied. "And you? You're probably like what...35? 40?"
He laughed.
"You're too kind. I'm technically 68," he answered back.
"Technically?"
"Yeah, weird multiversal travel stuff I recently went through. I got pulled from the past when I was 51 and then brought to this present where I would technically be 68."
"Hmm, weird," you hummed. "I don't really understand time travel. That's why I work in fashion."
"So that's what you do for a living?"
"Yeah, I'm an apprentice of Laney Valenci, the new heir of the Valenci fashion brand."
"Valenci? Oh, you mean that brand Norman Osborn likes so much? Hmm, small world."
You giggled.
"I didn't know he was a fan. I only design the womenswear though."
"I see," he pondered. "Also I didn't get your name. I'm Otto."
"Nice to formerly meet you, Otto. I'm Samantha, but everyone calls me Sam."
"What a beautiful name," he cooed, making you smile and blush.
"Thanks. Are you always charming?"
He blushed.
"Not always. I learned a lot from my late wife, bless her soul."
"I'm so sorry," you said, gently touching his hand.
"It's okay. I know she's in a better place," he assured. "Now let's get back to feeding you."
"Okay," you chirped.
He fed you some more of the soup before you finally asked him what you had been pondering for a while.
"What kind of project are you working on? What's with all of the equations?"
"Would you like me to dumb it down for you?" he teased.
"Yes," you moaned before Flo snaked over to comfort you with a cheek rub.
He chuckled.
"I'm working on a sustainable generator that is powered by green energy," he explained. "Generators can cause a lot of pollution, so I want to make one that won't."
"That's fascinating," you replied. "I assume you've made some progress."
"Not as much as I would like, but I'm starting to cook with gas," he said, feeding you another spoonful of soup. "But I desperately needed a break and Flo thinks that me taking care of you will help clear my head a bit."
"Oh," you said as you pet Flo again. "Thank you."
The actuator buzzed against your hand in response.
"She says you're welcome."
You smiled.
"One more spoonful left and then you have to take your Tylenol."
"Will it make the medicine go down?" you jokingly asked.
"You're a Sound of Music fan?"
"No," you confirmed, before taking your last slurp of soup. "It was just a cheap joke to get a reaction from you. Did it work?"
He laughed.
"I guess it did," he admitted. "But now I'm curious, what musical movie adaptation do you like?"
"Phantom of the Opera," you answer.
"Hmm, no hesistation," he observed. "But excellent taste. I have one of the adaptations on DVD. We can watch it together."
"Okay, but only if you cuddle with me," you boldly said, looking him right in the eye.
His face became redder than a tomato and he froze.
You wanted to cuddle with him?
He couldn't believe it.
Why would a pretty young woman like you want to cuddle with a mentally wrecked, old, mad scientist like him?
"I didn't even give you the medicine yet and you already sound loopy."
You laughed.
"I mean it, Otto. I would like to cuddle with you while we watch the movie."
"Alright," he relented before he gathered the Tylenol in his palm. "But now it's time to take your medicine."
"Okay!" you chirped before he fed the pills to you and gave you a sip of water. "Now what?"
"Now, you're gonna let the medicine do its job by resting again," he told you calmly as Flo pushed you back down on the bed. "Take another nap and once you wake up, we can cuddle and watch the movie."
You giggled.
"Sounds good to me," you said as you got more comfortable and closed your eyes. "See you in a bit, Otto."
"See you in a bit, Sam," he softly said.
About an hour later, you slowly batted your eyes open. Finally, your head stopped hurting and your body aches were quelled. However, your small fever still lingered.
It sucked, but you were glad that you were starting to feel better.
After you regained full consciousness, you noticed that Otto was back by his whiteboard. He was humming a happy tune, while the actuators were all watching him work.
Until Flo caught you again. In an instant, she jumped and turned around, facing you with her glowing yellow light.
"Up again already?" Otto jovially asked. "Well, you woke up at a good time. I needed another break after the breakthrough I just made."
You giggled, before he got up and made his way over to you again. He was smiling so bright, his eyes twinkling as he looked you over again. He could just tell you were starting to feel better.
Still, he wanted to check though. So he put his hand on your forehead and asked,
"How you feeling?"
"Well enough to cuddle with you," you joked, making him playfully sigh.
"I'm serious, Sam. Do you still have a headache? Are you still aching?"
"I still have a small fever, but my headache and body aches are basically gone."
"Yeah, you definitely still have a fever," he observed before pulling his hand away. "Feeling nauseous at all? Seems like you've been keeping your soup down."
"No, I don't have any nausea," you replied. "Just the little fever, promise."
"Okay, well maybe a lukewarm shower will help the fever go down," he noted.
"I don't have another pair of clothes," you whined.
"No worries. You can just wear one of my shirts as a nightgown. I mean you aren't going anywhere."
"Fair point. It is more comfortable to cuddle in than my work clothes."
Otto playfully rolled his eyes.
"Then it's settled. I'll run your water," he announced before leaving you alone in the room to do that.
You were only alone for a few minutes though, before he came back and tried to help you out of bed.
Your legs were still kind of numb, so it was a bit of a challenge. You ended up falling into his embrace, which made him more flustered since your top fell down a little in the process.
But he ignored it as best he could to help you regain your balance. It only took another two minutes to do so, and finally you made your way to his bathroom.
His little bathroom was simple, but kinda cute. It had just enough space to move around, which was good. It also had a mirror, a standard sink and faucet, and white cabinets & drawers underneath. Then to the side was a porcelain white toilet with a white medicine cabinet above. As for the walls, they were painted a baby blue, matching the tiles that decorated the walls of the shower/bath combo.
But what really caught your attention was his shower curtain. The fabric was decorated with painted octopi, all different colorful species against an ocean background.
The sight made you giggle, which Otto noticed.
"What's so funny?"
"Your shower curtain," you answered. "Kind of on the nose, huh?"
"Flo liked it," he shrugged. "Now are you able to clean yourself off or..."
"As much as I would like you to help me, I noticed how flustered you are so I can handle it myself. No worries."
"Well, alright. I'll be in the kitchen making you some more soup."
"Aye, aye captain," you teased, before he shook his head and closed the door behind him.
He went straight to the kitchen after, humming a happy tune again while he fished out another can of soup from the bag.
But as the soup started to cook, Flo began to vibrate loudly like she felt a disturbance. Otto was more than confused and tried to calm her down before he heard a loud thud.
Panicked, he rushed back over to the bathroom and swung the door open. But when he peeked through the curtain, his heart dropped.
There you were, lying unconscious on the tub floor. Your right leg was up in the air while your left was bent at the knee. One arm was pinned against your side and the left of the tub while the other dangled from the tub's edge.
And then there was your head.
It was drooping from the side, but posed almost like a melancholy Renaissance painting. It was an odd sight, but Otto wasted no time to help you. Even if he didn't want to gaze upon your naked body...
Well, not yet anyway.
Still, he jumped into action, stopping the water that was still raining down on you first. After, he picked you up and wrapped you in a towel to dry you off.
You fell into his grasp again as he dried you off, giving him another close up peek of your breasts.
But he ignored it again and threw the first t-shirt Moe grabbed from his closet on you.
"I'm glad she's still breathing," he told Flo once he picked you up again and brought you to the bed. The actuator comforted her creator with a cheek rub after. "I just hope she'll wake up soon. I really did want to cuddle with her."
He sulked away soon after, walking back to his kitchen to stop the soup cooking on the stove. Then he retired himself back to his desk, just praying Flo would sense you getting up again.
You didn't give him much time to reflect though as you opened your eyes again a few minutes after Otto put you back in bed.
You were very confused though.
Last thing you remembered was being in the shower. You didn't remember leaving said shower or putting his T-shirt on.
What happened in between then and now? And why were you unconscious again?
It made no sense, but you didn't want to freak out Flo who just realized you were up again. So you just saved face and slowly sat back up.
"She's up?!" Otto happily asked his helper.
Flo nodded.
"Oh good," he chirped turning his attention to you.
You felt like you were gonna blush by how happy he sounded.
"Hungry?" he jovially asked. "I just heated up another can of soup for you."
"Yeah, I could go for some more soup," you replied. "And your cuddles."
He laughed.
"Soup first, cuddles later," he gently said. "Besides, you need to get your strength back up and take some more Tylenol. How you feeling? You took a nasty fall earlier. We had to take you out the shower."
"Oh, is that why I have no recollection of how I got here? And why I feel a bit more sore?"
"I'm afraid so," he confirmed. "Stay put and get cozy. I'll be right back with your remedies."
You nodded, although you were really confused as to why you fell. You've never fallen in your shower before.
Was it because your legs were previously a bit numb?
Maybe...
Otto returned before you could ponder though, but without his apron on this time. The routine was the same though and he fed you again with no hesitation.
The way he looked at you between bites made your heart melt even more. It was clear in his warm brown eyes that he was fond of you. He obviously developed a crush on you since your time together, but you didn't mind.
Of course...
"Otto," you started, almost hesitating to ask him what you were about to ask.
"Yes, Sam? Everything okay?"
"Everything's fine," you assured him. "I just wanted to know something..."
"What?" he softly asked.
"Do you like me?"
His face turned even more red than before.
"What gave it away?"
You giggled.
"The way you've treated me all day. You seem more interested in me than just being my nurse. And you blushed when I asked to cuddle with you earlier."
"Right," he sighed. "I suppose I do fancy you. You remind me of my Rosie. I miss her so much, but maybe you're the sign that I need to move on."
"Otto," you softly said, caressing his face. "Would you like to go on a date with me once I get better?"
He smiled, before replying,
"Yes, I would like that a lot. Wherever you want to go, I'll take you."
You giggled again.
"Okay, I'll make a decision soon," you promised.
"Take your time. You're still ill," he remarked. "Now back to your soup. The sooner you eat and take your pills, the sooner we can get the cuddling."
"Right," you chirped, gladly taking another slurp of soup he gave you.
Another few minutes passed and you finished your meal and took your medicine. And once you did, Otto went back into his kitchen to clean up so he could finally cuddle and watch the movie with you.
Truly, he was anticipating this as much as you. He had been so lonely for so long, he was glad that he found you.
His sick, little fallen angel.
"I think it's cuddle time," he happily said before he joined you in the bed.
You laughed and let Moe wrap around you to put you in Otto's lap. He released you after and you laid your head on Otto's chest while Flo found the DVD and put it in the player next to the TV.
After, she returned to your side, guarding you as her creator held you close against his beating heart.
You were in heaven and you felt more loved than you ever had in your entire life.
Otto was just so nice and soft and plush. He made a wonderful sentient pillow, a nice one you didn't want to let go off or move from.
And you made that very apparent when you fell asleep against him right before the movie ended.
Otto couldn't help but smile at how beautiful you looked in your slumber either. But Flo was a bit concerned about your comfort.
"Flo, leave her be. She seems comfortable to me. Let her keep resting," he told his creation before he gently caressed your face again. "Looks like I might have found you a new mommy, guys. A new, beautiful mommy."
Flo buzzed of excitement at the thought, before she wrapped herself around you loosely and gently vibrated against your stomach.
You were too knocked out to notice though.
And Otto just kept watch until he also succumb to his fatigue, his subconscious just hoping that you would be better in the morning.

Attuma with the babies - part 2
Based in the Sun & the Sky AU
My thoughts:
When it was time for the twins to get their shots, Attuma was not allowed to be in the building. The first time one of the twins got poked with a needle and bursted into tears, Attuma had his hands on the poor doctor within half a heartbeat. The nurses had to get Okoye to pry him off of the dazed woman, and walk him out.
After that incident, he was forced to stay outside until everything was done. He was livid. Especially since Okoye was bawling her eyes out as she held the twins. But thankfully, he was allowed back in to comfort his family once all the shots had been given.
He was kinda pissed that he had to apologize to the doctor to be allowed back in, but he did it. (The things this man would do for his wife and sons. 🤧)
Attuma always looked forward to feeding the twins. He'd prepare a bottle of breast milk Okoye had pumped in a bag and tossed in the freezer and fed them while humming a soft tune. Once they were done, he'd burp them and hold them close on the sofa.
Then the twins would dose off, and he would feel obligated to stay still until they woke up. That typically led to him taking a nap with them.
Okoye would sometimes come home for lunch and find her husband knocked out with two tiny babies resting peacefully in his arms.
And she would take a picture every single time before placing a soft kiss on all of their heads.
Attuma was even more excited when the twins could finally start eating homemade baby food. He had been looking forward to the day they could start weening off of breast milk and enjoy the softer foods of Wakanda and Talokan.
Sure, they were a bit huffy, and the tears often made him run to the freezer to appease him, but Attuma slowly won them over with mashed up fruit and spoonfuls of thickened atole. He'd imitate dolphins and whales as he fed them and wipe their hands and mouths clean once they were done.
What he wasn't ready for was when their teeth started coming in. The wailing was endless, and all of the remedies only provided temporary relief.
He had finally settled on giving them frozen breast milk and tiny pieces of cold watermelon to soothe their aching mouths in the day. At night, he'd sing them a melody that washed away the pain. Long nights of singing led to long mornings of sleeping. Where he dropped the ball, Okoye picked it up. After a month, it became obvious that he was getting worn out.
Even he felt useless and inadequate sometimes. This was all he could do to satiate them. They despised numbing gels and would scream whenever they tried anything else. All he wanted to do was close his eyes and get an ounce of shut eye. But he loved his family too much to break down now.
Okoye could tell he was struggling and changed her working schedule to pull him out of the storm he was sitting in. He was such a kind and loving husband. He was an amazing father, too. But he was also human (although slightly mutated), and humans need breaks, too.
She'd often find him laid out in exhaustion, struggling to get a moment of peace but too stubborn to let Namora or Shuri or Aneka watch the twins. Okoye knew how much pride he took in taking care of their sons. Asking for help in his mind made him feel inadequate.
Some days, Okoye would hand the babies off to their aunties while he was sleeping. Leaving a note and a home-cooked meal on the counter, so that he could have the day to himself without any worries.
Other days, she'd put the twins down for a nap and hug him tight. She'd rub his back or brush his hair. Shower him in kisses and force him to go out and get some fresh air while she took care of the twins.
He always took care of her, so she'd take care of him. It was like they poured into one another to keep both of their cups full.
He was grateful and appreciated having such an attentive wife. And he was relieved when the tooth growing pains were over.
Attuma's heart soared when their twin sons began to walk. I mean, every milestone made him happy (minus the teething era). But this was just the cherry on top.
They both stumbled from his arms to Okoye's open ones with shaky little legs and happy giggles and squeaks of excitement.
The joy only dwindled slightly when they learned how to run and get into things. It felt like they were everywhere and getting into everything, every time he blinked or stepped away to do something.
Whenever they were getting into too much, he'd scoop them up, get one of the patterned wraps, and wear them until they dozed off.
Okoye always found it funny how their babies would fall asleep whenever he did this. She figured it had something to do with how much he did it when they were younger.
Sometimes, Okoye would doubt herself. Maybe she wasn't a phenomenal mother because the twins- aht aht. Attuma never let her finish those thoughts. He'd always kiss her and remind her that she was a good mother. And the twins solidified that when they spoke their first words.
To everyone's surprise, they boys' first word was K'iin and then Na'. Well, everyone but Attuma. Attuma had been gushing to their sons about Okoye everyday in the most wholesome of ways. Always reminding them of the mayan equivalent to each English word, Sun and Mom. Always reminding them of how amazing she was. Sometimes he'd bring them to watch Okoye spar and train with Aneka, so they could see their mother in action.
"This is how K'iin stole my heart." He whispered to the two babies settled on his lap as he sat on a bench. "The first time I met Na', she threatened to kill me and took out all of my soldiers. Then she cut my cheek." He chuckled softly at the memory as one of the twins attempted to bite his hand, and the other leaned against him drowsily. "To think we have you now. Chaac and Bast must have planned it all."
So imagine his surprise when the third word they spoke was Baba. Apparently, Okoye had been coaching them and teaching them xhosa while he was away. He didn't realize she was gushing about him too.
In short, he was all over Okoye that night, after the twins went to sleep.
Both of the twins are similar to Namor, in the sense that they are fine on land but seem to be stronger and heal faster when exposed to water. Although, they have to be exposed to water for long periods of time. They can also breathe through their skin like the god king.
This was discovered when the 3-year-old boys had fallen ill one summer. No one really knew what was wrong with them, and Okoye was panicking seeing them so lethargic. They were extremely restless and miserable, and it broke her heart seeing them like this.
Attuma asked the priest and herbalists of Talokan for assistance, and they had them bring the twins to the river.
Okoye was reluctant at first, but with a bit of assurance, she agreed. Both of their hearts nearly stopped when the twins were pulled underwater. The only reason everyone's head was still connected to their neck was the fsct the twins were flourishing. They had taken to water like fish. Apparently, they had spent too much time playing in the sun and needed more time in the water on hotter days.
Now that their parents were aware, the twins were allowed to play in the water with supervision. A few people were terrified at first because of the hammerhead sharks that would occasionally swim through. But, you know, Pakal and the squad had to come see the babies.
The twins loved Pakal. (So much that Namora made them shark plushies.) Attuma would help them pet the shark's side and watch them giggle as he nudged their floating toys.
The most curious thing was how much the shark would stay by Okoye.
Pakal had always favored Okoye to Attuma, but he seemed more restless than usual.
Almost as if he was guarding something, but Okoye would only whisper to the shark and shoo him away.
A few weeks later, Okoye shyly revealed that she was pregnant and Attuma was over the moon.
He was a little hurt she had tried to hide it, but the surprise she had thrown erased his pout.
Another bundle of joy!?!
Sign him the fuck up!
and that concludes Part 2 ♡

You are able to get these pain relieving products from many pharmacies and supermarkets. Apply these gels and liquids directly to the sore tooth and nearby gums. A lot of these contain benzocaine, which will numb your mouth for a little while. Beware, these are meant for short-term use only. They will not treat the cause of your pain.
After you have gone through the discomfort of a toothache, the last thing you would want is to experience it again. The good news is that many toothaches are preventable, as long as you take care of your teeth and gums by flossing and brushing twice a day. Keeping up with your regular dental check ups will ensure the best health of your teeth and gums.

Although it may be difficult to get to sleep when you have a toothache, lying down can exacerbate your pain because blood pressure to your head increases when you are in a flat position. When going to sleep, try propping your head up with pillows or sleep upright in a chair, if possible.
Hydrogen Peroxide Rinse
Hydrogen peroxide is also useful for attacking inflammation and bacteria. When using a hydrogen peroxide rinse, mix 1 part three percent hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts water. Do not swallow the solution. Use it as a mouthwash.

There are several ways you can use this spice to treat your toothache. Since clove is an antiseptic, it is useful for reducing inflammation and pain. You can put clove oil on a cotton ball and apply it to the painful area or place a drop of the oil directly on your tooth. Alternatively, you can also put a drop of clove oil into a glass of water and use it as a mouthwash.
Guava Leaves
Guava leaves have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties that can help to soothe your aching tooth. You can use the leaves to make a tea that you allow to cool and use as a rinse or simply chew on the leaves to get some relief.
Wheatgrass
There are many benefits of wheatgrass that make it a useful means of treating your toothache. Like many of the other methods mentioned, it is great for addressing infections caused by bacteria. So, simply get some wheatgrass juice and rinse it in your mouth a few times a day.
Thyme
Thyme oil can be used as a rinse or applied directly to your tooth. To rinse, add a drop of oil to a glass of water and use it as a mouthwash. To apply to your tooth, dilute some oil with water, place a few drops on a cotton ball, and put on your tooth.
Those remedies are only for pain management. They do not treat your tooth permanently. Than visit nearest dental care as soon as possible for proper treatment.

You know, as someone who deals with migraines on a monthly (at least) basis, and recurring sinusitis I consider myself relatively ok with handling pain.
Now, I haven't had a truly severe migraine in a while but, honestly, I'd pick it over the toothache I'm experiencing now.
At least my migraines come with the side effect of drowsiness so, while it's super annoying at work, I can sleep the pain off once I'm home. And at least I have the type of migraines that pain meds can remedy.
However, my tooth decided it wanted to ruin my evening. The medicine I only take when I have the worse cases of migraines is barely working and, unlike the migraine, I'm not even sleepy.
My dentist works tomorrow afternoon and honestly, this is the first time I wish I was doing my internship in the ER and not family medicine because ER has access to IV pain meds which would be HEAVENLY now.
You know what is the funniest thing? I actually made a dentist appointment today before my tooth started to ache. I called in and scheduled for the 26th.
But no....my tooth had to break hell today.
Anyway, it's been four hours since I took the last dose of the pain meds, and I can now take the next one. Let's hope it works and that I can actually fall asleep.

How to Stop Tooth Pain Fast?
Tooth pain can be a relentless and distressing experience that interferes with your daily activities. Whether it's a sudden, sharp pain or a persistent, dull ache, knowing how to stop tooth pain fast can bring much-needed relief. Understanding how to manage a dental emergency, when to contact a dentist, and effective home remedies can help you find immediate relief from a toothache.
Tumblr media
Causes of Tooth Pain
To effectively stop tooth pain, it’s important to understand its underlying causes. Common reasons for a toothache include:
Tooth Decay: Cavities caused by poor oral hygiene can result in intense pain and sensitivity.
Gum Disease: Inflammation or infection of the gums can lead to tooth pain, especially when left untreated.
Cracked or Broken Tooth: Physical damage to a tooth can expose nerves, leading to significant discomfort.
Abscess: A serious infection that forms at the root of a tooth or between the gum and a tooth.
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism): Excessive grinding or clenching can wear down teeth, leading to pain and sensitivity.
If your toothache is severe, it's considered a dental emergency, and you should contact a dentist for immediate dental care.
Quick Tips for Immediate Toothache Relief
While it’s essential to visit a dentist for a proper diagnosis, there are steps you can take at home for quick and effective relief from tooth pain. Here’s what you can do to manage a dental emergency:
1. Rinse with Warm Salt Water
A warm salt water rinse is one of the simplest and most effective remedies for a toothache. It helps reduce inflammation and kills bacteria, providing immediate relief. To make the rinse, dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and swish it around your mouth for about 30 seconds before spitting it out. Repeat this process as needed.
2. Apply a Cold Compress
Using a cold compress can help numb the affected area and reduce swelling, especially if the pain is due to injury or inflammation. Wrap ice or a cold pack in a cloth and hold it against the outside of your cheek for 15-20 minutes. This simple method can provide immediate relief from throbbing tooth pain.
3. Take Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers
Pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be effective in managing tooth pain temporarily. Be sure to follow the recommended dosage instructions on the packaging. However, avoid placing aspirin directly on the affected tooth or gums, as this can cause irritation.
4. Use Clove Oil
Clove oil contains eugenol, a natural anesthetic and antibacterial agent that can help numb the pain and reduce inflammation. Soak a cotton ball in clove oil and gently apply it to the painful area. This method provides quick relief but should be used sparingly and as a temporary measure until you can see a dentist.
5. Hydrogen Peroxide Rinse
A hydrogen peroxide rinse can help reduce bacteria in your mouth and relieve pain and inflammation. Mix equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide with water and swish the solution in your mouth without swallowing. After spitting it out, rinse your mouth thoroughly with plain water.
Tips For Preventing Tooth Pain in the Future
Preventing tooth pain is always better than trying to treat it once it occurs. Here are some steps you can take to reduce your risk of a toothache:
1. Maintain Good Oral Hygiene: Brush twice a day, floss regularly, and use an antibacterial mouthwash to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
2. Avoid Sugary Foods and Beverages: Limiting sugar intake reduces the risk of cavities and tooth decay.
3. Wear a Mouthguard: If you grind your teeth at night or play contact sports, wearing a mouthguard can protect your teeth from damage.
Tooth pain can be an unexpected and frustrating experience, but with these tips, you can find immediate relief and manage the pain effectively. Remember, while these remedies can provide temporary relief, they are not substitutes for professional dental care. Always consult your dentist if you experience persistent or severe tooth pain, as early intervention is crucial in preventing further complications. For any dental emergency, reach out to your local dentist to ensure your oral health is promptly addressed.

Is there possible way to Kill Tooth Pain Nerve in 3 Seconds Permanently?
Tumblr media
It's natural to wish for a quick fix to instantly eliminate tooth nerve pain, as this discomfort can seriously disrupt daily life. However, the idea of permanently killing tooth nerve pain in just three seconds is simply not realistic. While we all want fast relief from toothaches, achieving permanent relief requires understanding the root cause and seeking professional treatment. This article will explain what tooth nerve pain feels like, the potential causes, and some quick home remedies, and professional treatments.
Causes of Tooth Nerve Pain
Tooth nerve pain can arise from two main types of sensitivity:
Pulp Sensitivity
Pulp sensitivity occurs when the inner pulp of the tooth, which contains blood vessels and nerves, becomes inflamed. Common causes include:
Cavities
Cracked, chipped, or broken teeth
Worn enamel
Improper dental procedures (e.g., crowns, fillings)
Tooth injury or trauma
Dentinal Sensitivity
Dentinal sensitivity happens when the dentin, the tooth's inner layer, is exposed. This can result from:
Untreated cavities
Teeth whitening products
Receding gums
Tooth decay
Tooth fractures
Gum disease
How Tooth Nerve Pain Feels
Tooth nerve pain can vary from a minor ache to severe, sharp pain. Common sensations include:
Sensitivity to certain foods
Discomfort from hot or cold temperatures
Dull or constant ache
Sudden sharp pain without warning
Everyone experiences tooth nerve pain differently, but the goal is the same: to find lasting relief.
Professional Treatments for Tooth Nerve Pain
A dentist can diagnose the cause of tooth nerve pain and provide treatments for long-term relief. Some common treatments include:
Root Canal
In this procedure, the dentist removes the infected or inflamed pulp from the tooth, then seals it to prevent further damage. This can eliminate pain and save the tooth.
Pulpotomy
Similar to a root canal, a pulpotomy involves removing the affected part of the pulp, particularly in teeth with deep decay, and sealing the healthy portion to preserve the tooth.
Tooth Extraction
If the tooth is too damaged to save, extraction may be necessary. Although drastic, this can provide immediate relief and prevent complications.
Dental Filling or Crown
For less severe cases, a filling or crown may be recommended to repair the tooth and protect the exposed nerve. Pain medication may also be prescribed to manage discomfort during healing.
Temporary Relief Techniques for Tooth Nerve Pain
While seeing a dentist is essential for permanent relief, there are some temporary methods to ease the pain:
Cold Compress: Applying a cold compress can numb the area and reduce inflammation. Use an ice pack or a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel for 10–15 minutes several times a day.
Medication: Over-the-counter pain relievers like NSAIDs (e.g., Advil, ibuprofen) or Tylenol (acetaminophen) can help reduce pain and inflammation.
Saltwater Rinse: Rinsing your mouth with warm saltwater can temporarily alleviate pain.
Desensitizing Toothpaste: This type of toothpaste can help block pain signals from exposed nerves, though it requires a few weeks of consistent use to be effective.
Additionally, avoiding hot, cold, acidic, or spicy foods can help prevent further irritation.
Conclusion
Killing tooth nerve pain permanently in just three seconds is impossible. To achieve lasting relief, a visit to the dentist is necessary to diagnose the root cause and receive the appropriate treatment. While waiting for professional care, temporary pain relief techniques can help manage the discomfort.

“My tooth hurts like anything!” What Could be the Possible Reasons for My Tooth Ache?
Toothaches can be the cause of a lot of agony in your life. You cannot concentrate, your jaw and head hurts, and you cannot think beyond the pulsating pain that prevents you from being able to do anything at all.
There are many different home remedies available on the internet for tooth pain which include putting in tooth paste, applying turmeric powder or clove oil, and so forth. While these methods can provide little temporary relief, there is almost always a more persistent problem in your tooth that causes throbbing pain.
Tumblr media
Dentist Sydney suggest that there could be multiple reasons for your toothache as follows:
Decay:
Decay in your tooth as a result of cavities can cause damage to nerves in your gums and lead to the ache that’s making your life miserable. Tooth decay could be due to consumption of sugary foods, and can also be a sign of calcium or Vitamin D deficiency. Lactating women also report having higher tooth decay because their calcium intake generally doesn’t match when they are feeding their babies. However, do not assume anything and get your blood tests done if too many of your teeth are being affected too fast.
Gum disease:
This can be an underlying cause of your toothache. If the infection spreads into the root of your teeth, you can expect to feel quite some pain.
Abscess:
Abscesses are pockets of pus that can form in the gums or even in the tooth. Pain and swelling can result due to these.
Tooth fracture:
A fracture in your bone results in excruciating pain. So is the case with a fracture in your tooth. The fracture can expose a nerve and make you hurt.
Impacted tooth:
An impacted tooth has not fully emerged from the gums and can cause pain when you accidentally bite with it.
Bruxism:
If Dentist Sydney were to explain in simple terms, this is a condition when a person clenched or grinds their teeth, especially at night. This leads to pain in jaw and gums. If the teeth are ground too much, it can cause dental fracture and trauma, resulting in pain.
Dental Trauma:
You might have taken a fall, got into an accident, or have been punched in the face. All these situations can be the reason for your pain.
Dental pain can be excruciating, and the first thing you might want to do is reach for a pain killer. While it is fine to do that, do not ignore the pain, especially if it is recurring. Moreover, having a pain killer can merely subside the issue temporarily. It will happen again if the root cause is not resolved.
Moreover, the pain can be a sign that you need to pay heed to your oral health before things get bigger. A slight pain in your tooth can be the result of a forming cavity, try to fix the cavity before it gets too big and your tooth needs to be removed.
Dentist Sydney also recommend that rather than speculate about the reasons for your pain, we recommend that you visit a dentist near you in Sydney and understand the real problem behind the toothache. The ache is simply a sign that there is something wrong with your tooth. Only a dentist can determine the real reason for your pain.
Once you are through reading this article, we strongly suggest that you call up a dentist and set an appointment. Only after a through check of your mouth and an x-ray, can a dentist determine the root cause of your pain.

In this guide, we'll explore essential emergency dentistry tips to help you navigate through the discomfort and get the care you need promptly.
Identifying the Signs of a Toothache
If you've ever experienced a toothache, you know that it's more than just a slight discomfort. It can range from a dull ache to sharp, shooting pains that make it difficult to eat, sleep, or concentrate. Some common signs of a toothache include:
Persistent Pain One of the primary indicators of a toothache is persistent pain in or around the affected tooth. This pain may be sharp or throbbing and can intensify when you bite down or apply pressure to the tooth.
Sensitivity to Temperature If you experience heightened sensitivity to hot or cold foods and beverages, it could be a sign of a toothache. This sensitivity may linger even after removing the stimulus.
Swelling or Inflammation Swelling or inflammation around the tooth or in the surrounding gums is another common symptom of a toothache. In severe cases, you may notice pus or a foul taste in your mouth.
Immediate Steps to Take
When faced with a toothache crisis, taking prompt action can help alleviate discomfort and prevent further complications. Here are some immediate steps to consider:
Rinse with Warm Salt Water Using warm salt water to rinse your mouth can help reduce inflammation and relieve pain. Mix a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and swish the solution around your mouth for approximately 30 seconds before spitting it out.
Use Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can provide temporary alleviation from toothache discomfort. Follow the recommended dosage instructions and avoid placing aspirin directly on the affected tooth, as it may cause irritation to the gums.
Apply Cold Compress Applying a cold compress on the outer cheek near the affected tooth can help numb the area and reduce swelling. Wrap a bag of ice or a cold pack in a towel and apply it to your cheek for 15-20 minutes at a time.
Seeking Professional Help

Fortunately, there are effective ways to alleviate tooth pain quickly and regain your comfort. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the challenges of tooth pain, provide a step-by-step guide to relief, share a compelling case study, and conclude with key takeaways.
Understanding Tooth Pain: Common Causes and Symptoms
Tumblr media
Tooth pain can be caused by a variety of issues, ranging from minor to severe. Here are some common causes:
Tooth Decay: Cavities can expose sensitive parts of the tooth, leading to pain.
Gum Disease: Infections in the gums can cause inflammation and discomfort.
Tooth Abscess: A severe infection in the tooth root or surrounding tissues.
Tooth Fracture: Cracks or breaks in the tooth can be painful, especially when chewing.
Teeth Grinding: Bruxism can wear down teeth and cause pain.
Impacted Wisdom Teeth: Wisdom teeth that don’t have enough room to grow properly can cause pain.
Symptoms of tooth pain can vary but commonly include:
Sharp, stabbing pain
Throbbing or constant ache
Pain when chewing or biting
Sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods
Swelling around the tooth or gum
Challenges of Dealing with Tooth Pain
Tooth pain poses several challenges, making it crucial to address it promptly and effectively. Here are some common hurdles:
1. Identifying the Cause
Determining the exact cause of tooth pain can be difficult without professional help. Toothaches can result from a variety of issues, and misidentifying the cause can lead to ineffective treatment.
2. Access to Immediate Care
Dental clinics may not always be immediately accessible, especially during weekends or holidays. Finding quick relief while waiting for an appointment can be challenging.
3. Managing Pain at Home
Home remedies might not provide complete relief or could worsen the condition if not used properly. Knowing which remedies are safe and effective is crucial.
4. Long-term Solutions
Temporary relief is important, but addressing the underlying issue is essential for long-term dental health. Balancing immediate pain relief with effective long-term treatment can be challenging.
Step-by-Step Guide to Stop Tooth Pain Fast
Tumblr media
Here’s a detailed step-by-step guide to help you manage and alleviate tooth pain quickly and effectively:
Step 1: Assess the Pain
Before taking any action, it's essential to assess the nature of your tooth pain. Ask yourself the following questions:
Is the pain constant or intermittent?
Does it get worse with hot, cold, or sweet foods?
Is there any swelling or redness around the affected area?
Step 2: Rinse with Warm Salt Water
A simple and effective first step is rinsing your mouth with warm salt water. This helps to reduce inflammation and cleanse the affected area.
Mix a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water.
Swish the solution around your mouth for about 30 seconds.
Spit it out and repeat a few times throughout the day.
Step 3: Use Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers
Non-prescription pain medications can provide significant relief:
Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen: These medications can reduce pain and inflammation.
Follow the dosage instructions on the package.
Avoid placing aspirin directly on the tooth or gums as it can cause burns.
Step 4: Apply a Cold Compress
A cold compress can help numb the pain and reduce swelling:
Wrap a few ice cubes in a thin cloth.
Apply the compress to the affected side of your face for 15-20 minutes.
Repeat as needed, with breaks in between to avoid skin damage.
Step 5: Use Clove Oil
Clove oil has natural anesthetic properties and can be effective in relieving tooth pain:
Dip a cotton ball in clove oil.
Apply it directly to the affected tooth or gum.
Alternatively, you can mix a few drops of clove oil with a teaspoon of olive oil and use it as a mouth rinse.
Step 6: Maintain Oral Hygiene
Keeping your mouth clean is crucial to prevent further infection:
Brush your teeth gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Floss carefully to remove any food particles stuck between your teeth.
Use an antiseptic mouthwash to kill bacteria.
Step 7: Avoid Certain Foods
Certain foods can exacerbate tooth pain. Avoid:
Hot or cold beverages
Sugary snacks
Hard or crunchy foods
Step 8: Seek Professional Dental Treatment
While home remedies can provide temporary relief, it’s essential to seek professional dental treatment for a long-term solution:
Schedule an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible.
Describe your symptoms and any steps you've taken to manage the pain.
Follow the dentist’s recommendations for treatment, which may include fillings, root canals, or other procedures.
