4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

hehe. according to the rules, if there isn't a fic specified in the ask, i'm legally allowed to talk about my baseball au 😌

there's a lot of stuff i rly love about that fic -- the mob & reigen relationship, mezato's radio show, ekubo's backstory, tome's superstitions, and that scene where mob beans reigen with a wild pitch so hard he gets a bruise that looks like hawaii.

i think my favorite reigen passage i've ever written is still the beginning of screwball chapter 7, in which reigen has internal debate in stereotypical cartoon angel-on-one-shoulder, devil-on-the-other fashion about how to wrangle the emerging teru/claw situation. reigen's got all these mental forces pulling him in different directions, and he really, really doesn't want to be involved with rivalry nonsense, but at the end of the day -- his empathy wins out.

10. How do you decide what to write?

most commonly, i take the fandom i'm rly into and smash it into whatever else is stuck in my head at the time.

a few examples: for the holiday fic, it was the home depot 10-foot skeleton; for flora obscura, it was the hanahaki fanlore wiki footnotes (rob's fault); for tpc, it was the george santos scandal and the time i attended a community meeting to get a crosswalk put in so people would stop almost hitting me with their cars.

to finish a fic, especially a longer fic, i have to be pretty nonstop focused on whatever this concept amalgamation is for weeks on end -- either bouncing ideas off fandom friends or in a committed relationship with my phone notes.

beyond that, what i end up writing is often what i need to write at a given point. sometimes, it's straightforward. i wrote joint resolution partially as a vent about my own move this past fall. sometimes, it's where i wish i was. i wrote in medias res when i needed a distraction between family visits to the ICU. it's like, maybe if i'm going through some shit, and i can write characters acting out the absurdity of all of it, then it'll help my brain find some peace. we have to find absurdity equilibrium.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

is it bad to say romance? omg. it was never 'dislike.' i don't rly dislike any tropes, because i think you can sell any premise with the right setup and consideration.

for me, i think it was more 'indifference' to romantic pairings? i started writing almost-entirely mp100 gen fic. obviously, Something Changed There akjsdklaj

IT'S SPOOKY SEASON! How would Aizawa, Vlad King, Midnight and Present Mic feel about a small Seamstress S/O who LOVES Halloween, like the MOMENT August moves to September and the weather starts getting cooler they bring out the pumpkin spice candles, big comfy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and Halloween decor, bonus points if they bake pumpkin treats :3

Aizawa: He’s pretty indifferent to seasonal stuff, his wardrobe is usually ever unchanging and his favorite foods are mostly year-round things, though all the black cat decorations are enjoyable and he likes seeing his kids get excited about the season so he’s no scrooge about it.  He’s more than happy to let you decorate your living space if you share it, and if you don’t he’ll even let you decorate his too, he’ll probably even ask you to come with him to get things for his students to decorate as well.  He’s probably a disastrous baker but he’ll linger around you if you’re baking, especially if you ask him to keep you company while you do.  Put him to work on the easy stuff, melting butter, chopping nuts, oiling pans etc.. measuring isn’t really his forte. Despite your initial disbelief, he’d do a couple costume is you asked him incredibly nicely (you’ll probably owe him a favor...or five) despite how he may act though he probably enjoys it. Not a huge fan of sweet drinks himself but he’ll surprise you with them if he has the extra time, out on patrol, if he knows you’re working late, etc.. if you work together you can expect one on your desk once or twice a week, exactly how you like it even if you don’t remember ever telling him your order.  Scary movies don’t bother him so feel free to drag him into a marathon of them, he’ll lay back on the couch and watch with you when you’ve got the downtime. Be wary though, if you get scared he’s probably gonna make fun of you just a little. His favorite thing about the season is for sure the smells, nutmegs, gingers, pumpkin etc...he likes the sharp scent of fall and the neutral colors are also pretty enjoyable for him. But on top of that, he just likes seeing other people be excited about it, even if he acts like a stick in the mud sometimes but you know just like everyone else he’s pretty soft where it matters. He always gives himself away by coming to you and talking about how Mina scares Denki every morning without fail for the ‘spirit of the season’ or the running list of what to dress Bakugou up as for the holiday (top contender is currently: q-tip). get a sexy cat costume Sekijiro: Come on his hero name is a vampire joke  He probably likes it much more than he lets on, and like Aizawa, he loves watching his kids get excited about it. He probably lets them pick a costume for him every year (it’s usually some type of vampire) He’d be overjoyed to decorate with you, and will definitely leave up the decorations until it’s time to change for the winter season.  He loves seeing all the foliage change color too, go on a few walks with him before it gets too cold (even after, he’ll just wrap an arm around you, but he’ll say he feels bad keeping you outside in the cold).  I feel like he really loves fall seasonal drinks and stuff, maybe not the signature pumpkin spice but something akin to it may be slightly less sweet. But he’ll try anything you offer him and pretend to like it even if he doesn’t for the sake of not killing your excitement.  He always makes a mental note of the things you like to surprise you every so often. He likes baking with you even if he’s not always great at it, but he’s a pro at kneading dough, for obvious reasons, he’s also good for hand-mixing, and eating batter (��You’re setting such a bad example for your students! Stop you’ll get sick!” “They can’t even see me!”) Also totally down for a couples costume, he’ll think it’s funny and cute of you to want to match with him so he’ll definitely do it, and if his students don’t already know about you and suggest one he’ll even let them know he’s got to be able to match with someone this year.  Super loves scary movies, classic monster stuff Dracula, The Blob, anything Junji Ito, he doesn't mind newer stuff but sometimes its a hair too gorey/sexual to be tasteful for him. They don’t scare him, for the most part, there’s just one very specific thing that bothers him (It’s Teke Teke, even just mentioning it is enough to send a shiver up his spine, seriously don’t even joke about it he’ll cry and be mad at you for at least two days or until you give him a heartfelt apology without laughing because it’s “seriously not funny babe come on”) If you have made the mistake of making a Teke Teke joke at him in the past and he discovers even a single thing you are afraid of he will hold it over your head, don’t think he’s not that petty. But he’ll only do it as payback. If you're nice about Teke Teke he will promise to protect you from whatever awful movie monster scares you. If you aren’t well then you’ll just have to face Tomie yourself, unfortunately, “sorry babe but it’s about time to shape up, looks like it’s just you and Tomie now, alright well, goodnight” *clicks off lamp* (of course, he will cave in mere minutes and promise to protect you especially if you actually look scared and his joke didn’t calm you down at all) Don’t worry no evil movie monsters will get to you with Vlad around. get a sexy vampire costume 

Nemuri: Loves Halloween, please fall is this woman’s bread and butter, the fashion is impeccable it smells great and Halloween costumes are so much fun. She’ll 1000% try to rope you into some overtly sexy costume for her own enjoyment even if that sort of thing isn’t your speed, she’s gonna beg, just for one night. Loves decorating probably has the 12-foot skeleton from home depot. Her and Hizashi probably scare the crap out of their students at least once a year, some insane grand scheme that Aizawa and Vlad both know in and out but won't bother tell tell their students if they are unlucky enough to be the targets of it. If you work at UA with her and even think about ratting her out she’ll sniff it out from a mile away and then you’ll be at the top of the duo’s hit list.  Put simply...there is no option but a couple's costume. You will be matching if its the last thing she does.  Loves the seasonal drinks, pumpkin spice is her jam, whenever you pick one up get her one too she’ll thank you generously, and she’ll always have one for you too.  She’s pretty good at baking but not nearly patient enough for it, she’ll distract you halfway through and by the end of the night, all you’ll have is a half made batter, a preheated oven, and some hickeys.  Serial candle lighter and buyer. It’s an addiction, honestly, the smell of nutmeg may be so overpowering that you have to blow one out. At least the mood lighting is nice.  Also loves scary movies and will watch as many as you want, she may jump during them but they’re quick to leave her mind after so if you’re a scaredy-cat she’ll tease you but in the end she’s got a few pretty good methods for distracting you. She loves the season herself but she loves watching you get excited about it, seeing you hobble in the door with arms full of decorations and baking goods just brings her so much joy. The first time you break out a classic fall sweater she’ll compliment you for hours and steal it to wear the next day. get a sexy devil costume

Hizashi: Also loves the season and Halloween, hates all the spiders though, eugh. Not so bad if they’re all fake which normally they are. Aizawa is on his shit list for leaving a huge fake one on his desk chair one day, he tied a string to it and when Hizashi pulled his chair out started tugging the string, seriously he screamed so loud Nemuri thought someone was being abducted.  Though he’s usually good at getting people back on those sorts of things, but Aizawa is notoriously hard to scare so it’s just been festering for years.  As mentioned for Nemuri, they definitely pair up and come up with some huge scheme to scare like at least 10 kids at once, ideally a whole class. It takes weeks of planning, usually happens somewhere around the middle of the month, anyone who has had the misfortune of being part of the target group before always gets tense around that time of year as they are very effective (Tamaki and Mirio have been scared three years in a row, Mirio handles it very well but Tamaki does not come to school for two days after). He loves to bake, he’s probably decent at it too but he makes a huge mess, and he gets distracted too easily if you kiss him or touch him at all you will (similar to with Nemuri) just be left with a half-finished recipe and slightly sore thighs. It’s not his fault. it is Couple costume or Halloween simply does not happen. That's the law! The cheesier and sillier the better, please.  He can either love pumpkin spice or hate it depending on the cafe, but he’s addicted to surprising you with little fall treats so expect plenty.  Big apple cider guy though.  He’ll watch a horror movie with you sure. he’s not afraid of most, but the really good ones will get him, slashers don’t bother him, ghosts are fine, home invasions are nothing, but demons? Eugh. Also bugs of course. An over the top gore makes him squirm. If it’s one of those maybe invite Eraser to deal with his quirk because of the screaming. Your neighbors will think you’re trying to murder the poor man, though you’re probably no better. He likes getting scared with you though so don’t worry about it, and like Nemuri he usually forgets about it afterward.  if he finds it to be a slow, boring movie expect to get sidetracked, especially if you’re jumpy, he’ll put an arm around you and pull out all the classic cheesy moves and lines until he can coax you over. Loves carving pumpkins, seriously loves it so much probably dedicates a class period to it. Will carve a matching set with you if you ask (in his eyes it’s something akin to a marriage proposal so be mindful when you do ask). get a sexy maid costume

i’d argue that MMORPG is the one that should be considered unnecessarily long because at this point MMO is largely synonymous with MMORPGs specifically from what i can tell

going to the actual question: it mostly depends on what’s going on in each one as to which one i play, but it’ll also depend on how pressured i feel to play it. i’m a weird sort in that i’ll be less likely to give something my time if it puts more pressure on me - in that instance i think it’s fairly obvious why i’ve not touched ACNH in a while. i burned out fast trying to complete my fish/bug collections for each month, especially when RNG decided that no, hedj, you don’t get to complete it this month even though you have crafted SO much fish bait :(

(this makes me really sad because halloween looks like a lot of fun but i already feel like i won’t be able to get everything i want so my brain’s just gone “just get other people to pick up all the cute outfits and borrow them to catalogue them later”)

World of Warcraft usually ends up getting the least of my time because i’ll generally only pop on when there’s big events, when other friends are playing it a ton, or when a new expansion’s come out. i do have a soft spot for it even though i’m not fond of activision’s/blizzard’s recent stances and behaviours, the art style is rly cute and it feels comfortable

i’m probably going to be playing it a fair amount with Shadowlands coming out, even if it’s just to experience the new content and make all of my characters prettier, but who knows how long i’ll keep it up. i usually play it in bursts that don’t have me logging in a specific amount of times a week, and i might go a week or so without playing, which isn’t great when i’m paying for 30 days game time a pop but hey

Final Fantasy 14 is a newer addition to my rotation and i spent something like half a year to a year away from it, it’s another subscription MMO so it’s the kind that i’m going to end up playing in fits and bursts, but it’s also... i’d say it’s more casual than WoW? at least putting aside the dungeon/raid content. so i don’t feel like i have to play it constantly to get something out of it, and will be more sparse about it

but its events tend to be a lot more relaxed than WoW’s so i don’t feel quite as pressured to complete them - apart from like. having to stay up til 3am to do cactpot so i can get the extra coins from collecting it within an hour of the draw. honestly i’ll check into this game a couple times a week unless i rly feel like pushing to complete some story or attain some other thing

Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have a subscription fee to play, so i feel much less pressured to get things done on a time limit and so will play it at leisure - that said i usually pop on at least once a week for Ye Olde Lootbox Farming (there’s a lootbox system that’s honestly one of the least egregious in my opinion, you can earn the keys for the boxes in normal gameplay and the boxes just fall on you... and can be sold to other players)

that said i usually play GW2 more heavily during the halloween event rather solidly because it’s my absolute favourite halloween event in any game - i do love being chased around a labyrinth being hounded by killer halloween decor, monstrous candy corn, and the 12 foot Home Depot skeleton but with a chainsaw greatsword

GW2′s story i keep up with as and when it’s released because i really enjoy it, probably the most out of all of these different MMOs, and it’s probably a bit easier for me to keep up with because i know a lot more people who play it and are willing to go through the content with me

the tldr is i usually commit harder to what i’m going to enjoy more with friends, and then it’s generally “can i accomplish something that feels worth my time in the time i have available” after that

I don’t even think I have 20 drafts, I only published like 5 things. Also I haven’t written anything in like 6 months these are old. Let me know if any of you are interested in a particular story.

1. Then Came A Baby Boy:  When Patrick went into high school, he never thought he would even get a boyfriend let alone, the captain of the soccer team, Pete Wentz. He's actually pretty proud of himself, jealous guys and girls glaring at him every time Pete wraps his arm around Patrick's waist, Pete getting hit on out of school, only to point to his "amazing boyfriend" half way through their flirty conversation. Patrick considers himself pretty lucky, well... for the most part.

2. Did It Hurt?: 

Pete doesn't know why he even bothers with Brendon's bullshit these days.

He's currently sitting on a reasonably high branch of an oak tree, attempting to play along in Brendon's game of hide and seek.

3. Sometimes I Wanna Quit This All: 

Patrick hated sleeping. It wasn't because he couldn't sleep. It wasn't because he had nightmares. It wasn't even because he was wasting time not making music. It was because of his boyfriend, Pete.

Ever since Pete and Patrick moved in together, Pete had been taking trips out in the middle of the night. At first Patrick had thought it was because Pete needed to go to the bathroom; so he went back to sleep.

4. Cherry Cherry Blue Raspberry:

"Pete, you better have a damn good reason why you dragged me out here." Patrick shivered into his coat. Pete had shook Patrick awake at ass clock just because he wanted to see the shore.

"It sounds like you don't wanna spend some quality time with your boyfriend, Patrick," Pete grinned.

Patrick glared at Pete. "We literally live in the same apartment, asshat."

5. You Were My Versailles At Night:

Like New Years Eve, Pete loved the Fourth of July because it was a random excuse to party and get hungover as fuck. This year's Fourth of July could possibly be the best one in his life.

His friends had collaborated together to throw a huge house party complete with beer, fireworks, hot girls, and a fucking pool! Tons of people came to the party from fans of Fall Out Boy to nearby college students.

6. Not The First Or The Last (But Possibly The Prettiest):

The problem with Patrick was that he was incredibly spiteful. He doesn't think he can 100% pin-point the time where it started, but he's almost certain it started at the age of seven when his brother, Kevin, called him a weak omega for being too scared to climb the tall oak tree in their backyard.

If Kevin hadn't said anything that day, Patrick wouldn't have climbed to the very top just to prove his alpha brother wrong. Though it did result in Patrick crying several seconds after reaching the top, and having his parents buy a ladder from Home Depot that day to get him back down, but regardless Patrick proved his fucking brother wrong, and that was all that mattered to lil' Pat.

7.  ​Is There Somewhere You Can Meet Me?:

​Black and white. The only colors everyone saw in the beginnings of their lives. The world was dull until they met their soulmate.

Once they had, the world would become full of colors. Red, blue, yellow, purple, green, orange, just to name a few.

This dearly upset a particular Chicago boy named Patrick. This was because all Patrick could and would ever see in his life was, well, nothing. Patrick was born blind. He never knew what his parents looked like, he never knew what he looked like, and he would never know what his mate looked like.

8.  ​You Owe Me The Best Gift I Will Ever Ask For:

​"Hey Mom," Pete spoke through the phone. "Sorry, we can't even get out of the house. There too much snow." He looked out the window to where the snow was piling up. "Yeah, we'll head out as soon as we can. Love ya too." Pete sighed as he ended the call with his mom.

"Paaatrickk," Pete collapsed onto the couch next to his boyfriend. "Why is the snow so mean?"

"Because you pissed in it last year." Patrick deadpanned without bothering to look up from his laptop.

9.  These Words Are All I Have:

Pete jolted awake to the sound of his alarm. He rubbed his eyes as Hemmy jumped on his stomach and started pawing his chest.

He wanted to go for a walk.

Pete's phone dinged on his bedside table. It was a text from Andy.

10. I Will Never Believe In Anything Again:

​Pete was living the dream of a bachelor. He lived in a snazzy bachelor pad on the shore, partying every weekend, having sex with the same couple girls at said parties. He was the singer for his band, Arma Angelus, who were a constant demand in local venues and were practically local celebrities.

But despite all that, Pete was actually pretty lonely. The days he didn't have a gig or was hosting a party, were spent writing news articles that bored him to death. And sure having a ton of sex was nice, but sometimes Pete just wanted someone to hold his hand and peck his cheeks, during long walks on the beach

11. ​Heralded As A King (Before I Had A Birthday With Double Digits):

​"Goooooooooooood morning, Patrick!" He hears along with a swishing of curtains before light floods him. Instinctively, Patrick grabs the covers and pulls them over his head to block out the rays of torture. Also instinctively, Pete starts pulling away the satin sheets from his master only to have Patrick pulling back with a intense tug of war between the two of them.

Patrick was the first to let go which resulted in Pete falling backwards at the foot of the blonde's bed.

"I hate you" Pete said defeated on the floor.

"S'your fault anyway" Patrick slurred from the bed as he curled up and covered his eyes to go back to sleep.

"Nope, you're getting up and facing the day like the king you're gonna be soon." Pete insisted as he pulled Patrick by his legs. Patrick groaned into his pillow and weakly kicked his legs around to resist.

12.  ​If Living's Just A Waste Of Death:

​No one wants to think about death. Whether it's their own death or the death of someone they love and adore. Death is the end. No one wants to think of the end and no one knows what's after the end.

Many see death as a person. A person most likely already dead. A skeleton, a ghost, a shadow. Someone that wanders the earth to viciously seek out their victims.

However, this was a stark contrast to who Death really was, an emotionally broken man in a fancy black suit. His job was to end life.

13. Let’s Alone Together:

​Pete's been acting weird recently.

It took Patrick a while to notice it, kisses and hugs were slightly shorter for Pete standards, looking more distant and out of it.

Pete's been acting weird ever since they went shopping in Chicago, a week ago. Pete had said he wanted to pick up some Starbucks for the both of them, which he did return with but after a long time.

14.  ​They Say "Quitters Never Win":

​Patrick considered himself an avid gamer. The first time he'd ever done and gaming was when his parents bought him the original Nintendo DS for his eighth birthday. Good times were spent with that little handheld device.

Now, Patrick spent his time gaming on the computer. After he gets home from school, he spent his time playing games with his friends, using Skype as a way to jokingly trash talk them directly.

That’s it, anything past this is too cringey to see the light of day. 

Pattern: I notice that I tend to start with Pete’s point of view when I’m starting my stories. I’m not sure if this comes from the fact that I relate more to him or that Patrick is a hard personality to nail down. I also notice that I write angst and misunderstandings a lot, but I already knew I was an awful person.

I don’t feel like tagging anyone because I don’t know a lot of writer friends :(
