Re reading A Study in Scarlet and thinking about thin haggard nosy John Watson and young manic showoff Sherlock Holmes

Also got very emotional about the idea that Holmes has bad hair because he doesn’t see why he should care and dislikes barbers (being touched by a stranger!) so Watson cuts it to look more distinguished so Lestrade will take him more seriously

INKTOBER DAY 7: BRILLIANT - Holmes and Watson from Sherlock & Co.

I recently binge-listened to the whole series, and fell in love, so this is my interpretation of Sherlock and John from the podcast "Sherlock & Co." This is my first attempt, I'm still working out the details. I will say, I've seen other fan art portraying Sherlock as a POC, and I love it. And I recently saw here on Tumblr someone say John would 100% have a Dog Mom shirt, and I totally agree, but I cannot find that post now to tag and thank them for the inspiration.

Since Watson is canonically an unreliable narrator, anything could have plausibly happened behind the closed doors of 221B. He doesn't tell us readers everything. Any sort of twist could have happened during a case that he couldn't write for the public... Like all those times he kissed Sherlock Holmes.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that, for Watson, living with Holmes is like having a cat:

You get woken in the middle of the night for no reason, have to listen to its endless complaints, scratching, and "music." You're always the one that tidies up after it. One moment it's all cuddly and purring happily, the next moment it bites your hand. Either it is lying on the sofa all day, not moving a muscle, or it's roaming the neighborhood, leaving you to either follow it around or stay at home worrying your heart out, afraid it might get run over by the next cabby. But then, when it's lying next to you on the sofa, purring and all safe and happy, you forget all the trouble and just fill up to the brim with unconditional love.
