Summary: Steve Rogers is many things. A loving son, a born fighter, a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community, and, if his friend Sam is to be believed, a stubborn ass.

In addition, Steve is an artist. An actual, bona fide artist who barista’d his way through art school and has the overpriced, hard-earned degree to prove it. While he waits for his inevitable big break, Steve just has to suck it up and do some jobs on the side to be able to pay the rent on his two-bedroom Brooklyn apartment. Like, for instance, painting pet portraits.

As fate would have it, fellow Brooklynite Bucky Barnes is looking to commission a portrait of himself and his beloved cat Alpine as a birthday gift for his sister Becca.

Turns out Steve Rogers is just the man for the job...

Update 2: @hogwartstoalexandria @mjabbers in the notes have dropped a rec of the browser "Brave", which has an in-built ad blocker! Thank you both Also, for me at least, using YouTube with ad blocker on for Firefox browser on mobile (Android) is showing no problems so far. So I think it's mainly an issue on laptop as of now. And ofc thankfully the in-built pop up preview of the video when you send a YouTube link on messaging apps (e.g. on Discord, Telegram etc.) is working, so you can watch those shared videos ad-free within the messaging apps itself

genuinely super annoyed and irritated by this and am wondering if anyone knows how to circumvent? This is on Firefox btw

Three words: wind, signs, rest Stony

"Isn't it about time you took a rest?" Tony called, and Steve's head twisted up from where it had been bent over a fluffy, green bush.

"Tony!" Steve's face broke into a grin.

Tony leaned over the little fence that divided the vegetable patch from the rest of the garden and smiled back at his husband. "You know, if anyone had told me that moving to the country meant that you'd spend all your time up to your elbows in compost and I'd never see you, I might have made you stay in New York," he teased.

Steve straightened up and shook his head affectionately. He was beautifully messy, the soft, summer wind doing nothing to whisk away the sweat that plastered his hair to his brow. "You love it out here. Besides, it's not compost today, it's food." Steve pushed the leaves of the plant back, and Tony could see a little, green ball, just starting to blush orange. His lips quirked up into a smirk. "I'll grow it, you eat it. Deal?"

Next to the bush was a small square sign that said, Tomato, in Steve's perfect handwriting, followed by a small cartoon drawing of a tomato. It wasn't physically possible for Tony to love this man more.

Tony leaned over the fence to get a kiss. "As long as I get to help you wash this -" Tony brushed mulch from Steve's arm "- all off, then it's a deal."

Steve kissed Tony again. "Deal."
