Shinsengumi Manga

I’ve shared this with @shinsengumi-archives​​ for their reference and possible translation, but I also wanted to share this with the rest of this little community. I’ve got a fair amount of Shinsengumi manga that has been almost entirely untranslated (with a few exceptions of limited chapters). I also have all of PEACE MAKER鐵, but that’s being translated by the lovely @pmkscanlations​​, so I’ve not gathered that here. 

By number, listed here with name, transliteration and/or accepted translation, and author, as well as any basic information I have on the book/series. I’ve also included Amazon links for more context.

1. 新選組刃義抄 アサギ - Shinsengumi Jingishou Asagi - by 山村竜也  (著), 蜷川ヤエコ (著), 町田一八 (著) Tatsuya Yamamura (Author), Yaeko Ninagawa (Author), Kazuya Machida (Author)

“Shinsengumi who dressed in the color of Asagi, raised his righteousness on the blade, and ran through the Bakumatsu Ranse like a gale. Their way of life, which is in full bloom in "Makoto Bushido" and scattered in "Fresh Blood No Shurado", is now spun here as a new abstract.”

This seems like a collection of short comics by different artists about Okita. The style overall looks like yaoi, but I don’t think it is.

I don’t know much about this one, just that Okita is alive!

I think that this series is a collection of everything by this artist, so the other volumes wouldn’t be needed for this set of stories. This is not Shinsengumi-centric, but they do appear. 

24. サムライダーリン新撰組 - Samuraidārin shinsenkumi - “Samurai Darling Shinsengumi” by よしだ 斑鳩 Yoshida Ikaru

I’m a little unclear what this is tbh. It seems to be a popular detective-type story turned into manga. It’s not Shinsengumi-based. However, there is a police officer who I suspect is Saito based on an image on the wrapper.

Il nuovo anime originale dello studio MAPPA debutterà ad ottobre.

La storia è ambientata nell'anno 2002 e segue la squadra di ginnastica maschile giapponese, un tempo ritenuta formidabile. Jotaro Aragaki, ex membro del team che ha dedicato la sua vita alla ginnastica, non sembra più in grado di competere con le sue aspettative. Nonostante si alleni ancora strenuamente giorno dopo giorno, Amakusa, il suo allenatore, gli consiglia di ritirarsi. Tuttavia, un certo incontro finisce per sconvolgere il destino di Jotaro.

Il progetto vede di nuovo lavorare assieme il regista Hisatoshi Shimizu (diretto d’episodio in Zombie Land Saga), lo sceneggiatore Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombie Land Saga, Dororo) e la character designer Kasumi Fukagawa (Zombie Land Saga, IDOLiSH7). Come direttore d’animazione in capo troviamo Fumihide Sai (Granblue Fantasy the Animation 2), mentre le musiche sono composte da Masaru Yokoyama (Bugie d’aprile, Her Blue Sky).

Nana Mizuki Reprises Her Role as Tamao Tamamura in Shaman King Reboot TV Anime

    The official website for the upcoming reboot TV anime based on Hiroyuki Takei's Shaman King manga announced three additional voice cast members today, including Nana Mizuki, who will reprise her role as Tamao Tamamura. She played the extremely shy girl character and Horohoro's spirit partner Kororo in the first TV anime in 2000-2001. The latter is newly played by Megumi Nakajima in the reboot.

  In addition, Takumu Miyazono and Noriaki Kanze are newly cast as Ponchi and Conchi, fox spirits who are Tamao's familiars. In the 2000-2001 anime, the two were voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi and Tsutomu Kashiwakura.

  Mizuki explains the charm of the Shaman King series - "After all, I think it's the personality of the protagonist, Yo! The protagonist of a battle manga is hot-blooded, but Yo, who goes a completely opposite way with a loose spirit of 'I'll figure it out,' is full of charm that grabs you before you know it, regardless of whether you are his enemy or his friend. By relaxing his shoulders, he can absorb more things and push the limits. I've always been the type to be stubbornly enthusiastic, so I really admire him! (laughs)"

  She also expresses her enthusiasm for playing the role of Tamao again - "I never thought I'd be playing Tamao for the first time in 20 years! I'm really surprised and thrilled! I will remember my initial feelings when I stood in front of the microphone trembling and desperately tried to play the role at the time, and I will do my best!"
