Seriously besides Momo and Okarun reminding me of Kurata and Hiro, I didn't think I would get the same feelings from reading Dandadan that I had while reading Kono oto Tomare. Like they are on opposite ends of the spectrum of premises. Kono oto Tomare is a heartwarming youth centric story about music, while Dandadan is...I mean how do you even begin to describe it?

I guess it's the friendship as found family vibes for me, as well as the absolutely tearjerking back stories. Who knew I would cry in a manga about aliens, ghosts, and golden balls.

ever since someone mentioned how iconic honey lemon from bh6 i haven't?? been able?? to get it out of my head??

for people who don't know, there's a series for bh6 (titled big hero six the series woop woop!!) and one of the episodes was centric around honey lemon also being a girl in!! the arts!! she attends the san fransokyo art institute (sfai) and had her art w the gang hung up in the visual arts gallery

the san fransokyo institute of technology and the san fransokyo art institute ARE rival schools, but honey lemon just still. loves exploring both fields and her friends are crazy supportive of her (in the end the rival thing is also just for funsies and it's honestly such a fun episode) i just think it is SO COOL that FOR ONE !! she's a woman in stem who wears feminine clothing + heels despite already being tall + HAS INCREDIBLE FASHION SENSE + is a genuinely good person and is TWO !! also heavily involved in the arts LIKE BRO IDK ABOUT YOU but i think it's a really good message for kids (but honestly everyone) to know that they don't have to pick one specific route to follow + can pursue what they love

Okay, I’m gonna be completely honest here.

What the fuck is up with the mha fandom.

I make edits, so that means I have to search and download photos of the characters.

I make a lot of mha edits, because my sibling love mha, and wanted me to make mha edits.

So I searched for images, and like a LOT of them were very suggestive and weird.

Like, most of the characters are MINORS, and I’m seeing Katsuki Bakugou shirtless and in a provacative pose. What. The. Actual. FUCK

THEY ARE MINORS!!!!!!!!

And it’s not just the fanart and images, it’s the way that the fandom views the characters.

Most of the fandom is OBSESSED with shipping everyone, and there’s CONSTANT fights about it.

Like, I write fanfiction for ships, but I never sexualize anyone, and I focus more on their feelings and experience throughout life, and really just their character. Because they are SO MUCH MORE than just their powers and relationships. They have likes and dislikes, thoughts and emotions, past memories and trauma that shape who they are as a character. Each character is so complex and interesting and unique in their own way, and it’s weird and saddening to see people from the fandom who only sexualize and objectify these characters.

Now I know that all fandoms have people like this, but the mha has a LOT of them.

And it’s weird because the target audience is like preteens and 13 yr olds.

And honestly, for me, it’s really uncomfortable seeing all that stuff.

Like bro, I’m just trying to make an edit for my siblings, I do NOT need to be seeing that stuff.

Anyways, that’s my rant for today I guess.

Sorry about that, been hyperfixating on mha and demon slayer at the same time, so they just live rent free in my head right now

Been thinking about Hiro and Nike, but specifically about Nike and how she winds up copiloting with Hiro

And I realized if I ever do get around to their one shot, it's gonna be incredibly painful. Not because of any physical violence in it but because Nike's entire thing was that she lacked self awareness so she'd accidentally be annoying or embarrassing.

She'd get super excited over Kaiju, which in story is like being a big fan of bugs in a place where many people hate them and would crush one without hesitation.

And she winded up having her old friend group distance themselves from her because she struggled somewhat with social cues and was still kind of childish while everyone else was relatively more mature. So she was infantilized in their heads and was seen more like the kid they'd have to babysit.

Which meant they left her out of a lot of stuff sometimes just because they didn't want to deal with her.

So the pain of the one shot REALLY comes from readers having to deal with potential second hand embarrassment and Nike taking brutal L after L before she befriends Hiro and starts getting Ws.

cross is a huge fucking crybaby. like he’s almost always on the verge of tears and i feel like that gets scrubbed out in most fandom spaces to make him the “stoic, emotionless and goal-driven solider” for the story. like im not trying to be mean for pointing out the mischaracterization but it is undoubtedly present. like it would make sense for someone that experienced what cross has (losing his family, getting manipulated by his former best friend’s sibling, realizing your abusive father was GOD, etc.)

i havent seen it in a while but the earlier cross ship content i’ve indulged in usually portrayed cross as either this baby that cant take care of himself without his partner or as this almost obsessive protector that was only really himself around them. (not sure if im wording this right bro 😓💔) but what im getting at is that just didnt Feel like cross. i understand the appeal and everything but im just 💔💔

My ninjago oc, Detective Hiro Takahashi

Hiro's job isn't easy - he's the officer at the NCPD in charge of dealing with the ninja (recovery efforts after battles, getting their statements after incidents, making sure they don't run amok basically). He's in his early twenties when he first gets the job, and by DR he's in his 40s-50s. He's very serious about what he does, and does his best at first to always be professional when dealing with the ninja. However, you can only spend so much time around a group of self-sacrifical teenagers before you start growing attached. By SoG, Hiro considers himself their unofficial protector/therapist/parental figure (???) because good lord those kids need all the support they can get. He specifically spends a lot of time with Jay, especially after skybound (he knows about it but that's a story for another post). He loves his job at the station, even if it gives him gray hairs far before he should be getting them. Hiro is loyal to a fault, and if at the end of the day you try and hurt him or the ninja? Say hello to sensei G in the departed realm, buddy.

Hi! I hope you like the art, it took me like three days (partially because I'm so stupidly busy). Hiro's my first ninjago oc, and I love him deeply. He's been in my head since maybe my first time watching sons of garmadon, but this is the first time I've ever drawn/shared him.

Once again, I hope you like him! Now time to go back to my *checks work* 1.5 essays due this month :(

Since Byakuya in his youth had no reason to ever learn how to clean to any capacity, I can see him trying to clean up as an adult to be a bit of a learning curve for him. Could see him accidently using the wrong cleaning products on stuff, more so whenever he attempts to do cleaning without his glasses only for that to fail in his face cus he misread the print. Even without misreading though, I feel he has accidently used glass cleaner on some hard wood floors at least a few times. Another thing I think would be funny is if he gets extremely exhausted after doing the bare minimum of cleaning. Not because he's lazy or weak. All the other cleaning tasks he's gotta do just hit him right in the face. He starts overcalculating what he's going to do next. Sometimes, he might even be whisked away to another task he's got to do and then forgets to go back to his cleaning for a bit. It'd essentially be a bit mentally tasking cus he's so used to his tightknit schedule without the addition of having to worry about cleaning after himself. Bonus exhaustion if he's in a living situation with others. Feel a part of him would be cleaning up after others with the mentality of "If they can't do it, someone's has to". Plus, it's a slight way of showing that, by now, he really does care about others around him, even if doing those tasks makes his already off kilter schedule even worse. Edit: Byakuya also feels to me like he'd be very frustrated with himself that he's bad at cleaning. Perhaps a bit of him is looking back at his younger self and thinking of much of an idiot he was for denouncing the act of cleaning as a commoner thing. Maybe he beats himself up for not getting as good as he wants with the cleaning as others might have to still clean up the areas he might have missed. He might also just feel dumb for not getting something that he now sees as a useful skill in life and also something he knows isn't as complicated as he's making it out to be in his head.
