2019 was a good year for Indian cinema. Some very interesting movies came out throughout the year. While there were many that you could easily give a pass, there were a few intriguing ones that you should definitely catch up, if you still haven’t. Here are a few of the best Hindi Movies 2019:

 Judgmental Hai Kya

Judgmental Hai Kya is a black comedy. The title of the film translates into English as, ‘Are you judgmental?’. Prakash Kovelamudi has directed the film and Kanika Dhillon has written the screenplay. The film stars Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles. The film has been produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shailesh R Singh, and Shobha Kapoor. Arjuna Harai, TanishkBagchi, Rachita Arora, and Daniel B. George have scored the music of the film. George has also composed the background score of the film. Pankaj Kumar has shot the film. Shweta Venkat Matthew, Prashanth Ramachandran, and Sheeba Sehgal have edited the film.        

 Jabariya Jodi

Jabariya Jodi is an action comedy film. In English, the title means forced couples. It stars Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles. The story deals with the kidnapping of grooms, a tradition that is rather common in Bihar. Malhotra essays the role of a thug in the film. The film has been produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shailesh R Singh, and Shobha Kapoor. Directed by Prashant Singh, this is one of the best Hindi movies 2019. The principal photography for the film started in Lucknow on 10th August 2018. The film was released on 9th August.    

 Uri: The Surgical Strike

This is a military action film and one of the biggest films of the year. This film was directed by the debutante Aditya Dhar. He wrote the film as well. The film has Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and Mohit Raina in the main roles. The film depicts the retaliation of the Indian Army against the Uri attacks of 2016. It follows the story of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill who played a major role in these events. The film was released all around the world on 11th January 2019. It earned INR 342 crore all around the world.     

 The Tashkent Files

The Tashkent Files is a conspiracy thriller film. It deals with the demise of Lal Bahadur Shastri, a former Prime Minister of India. Vivek Agnihotri has directed and written the film. It stars Shweta Basu Prasad, Mithun Chakraborty, and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles. The film was released on 12th April 2019. The critics did not exactly receive the film with a lot of warmth. Given the fact that it was released around the general elections that year a lot of people believed that it was politically motivated. However, the film performed well in the box office, something that was not expected as such.
