The supplements I take and why I take them
-Magnesium : I take the liquid form (two droppers in my chai tea), itâs excellent for menstrual cramps, muscle health, better sleep, it improves your mood and honestly makes me even calmer than I naturally am. The brand I take is SunWarrior
-Probiotics : I get those in my system by eating kimchi, drinking kombucha, and when I canât get my hands on them I just take any lactobacillus based brand. They are great for gut health and to keep your flora balanced.
-Hydrolysed collagen with added vitamin C : Great for hair skin and nails, the vitamin C helps with its absorption. I take one scoop with juice or tea during the day.
-Barley grass juice powder : Blood cleanser, deodorizes from the inside, packed with vitamins and minerals. I take two teaspoons in coconut water (it tastes better that way) first thing in the morning.
-Haritaki powder : This is extremely bitter lol, but its such a gem. It cleanses the blood, repairs the DNA, enables lucid dreaming when used consistently, provides oxygen to your cells, helps you age better, and is great for third eye opening. I take a full tablespoon in hot water with pink himalayan salt before bed.
-Turmeric : I add it in my teas (around one teaspoon a day) itâs very good for your immune system and your skin/hair. Make sure to brush your teeth right after drinking it as it can stain them in the long run.
-Fenugreek : Be careful with this if you have estrogen dominance or have dealt with breast cancer before as it can mimic estrogen in the body. Though many South Asian and Himalayan teas (I wanna say Tibetan butter tea?) are also boiled, presumably the reason Southern sweet tea is boiled, like coffee, is tea was rare in West Africa till pretty recently, while coffee was well-known, and most Southern cooks wouldâve been slaves. (Thatâs also why the West African term âyamâ, for an unrelated Old World root vegetableâsomething more like a turnipâis applied to the sweet potato in American English. What is the safest sugar substitute?
The alternative sweeteners to white sugar and that we can find today are many, due to the growing search for healthy solutions for our diet, these products can be easily purchased in any store, know what are the best alternatives to finish using sugar refined in your meals.
There are many natural sweeteners today that allow you to replace the toxic and acidic substances that refined sugar contains and that are used in most sweet processed foods, which we eat almost every day or that we use to sweeten our food at home.
But we must be careful, refined sugar is harmful but so are the sweeteners that we often use disproportionately on our food, or which are part of the ingredients in our recipes, because they can have effects contrary to what they promise, such as weight gain, among others.
Artificial sweeteners problem
One of the artificial sweeteners that is used a lot is aspartame, since it is supposedly not fattening. There is now enough evidence that "zero calorie" sweeteners like this one (now banned in Europe) can actually even contribute to weight gain.
Alternative sweeteners to refined sugar
For this we must use natural sweeteners to supplant refined sugar that really provide a health benefit, such as the sweets of certain fruits and herbs that today have become the most widely used alternatives, regaining their place as before. stores will invade all these artificial sweeteners to supplant the harmfulness of refined sugar.
1. Coconut sugar
Produced from the sweet juices of coconut palm blossoms, natural sweetener coconut sugar has been a staple in Southeast Asia and is an alternative to refined sugar. It is even considered to be the most sustainable sweetener in the world. It can be used as a 1: 1 sugar substitute in cooking.
2. Stevia
This really packs a punch. It is 200 -300 times sweeter than sugar but with zero calories. Stevia is actually a green leaf (part of the chrysanthemum family) found in South America and it is comforting to know that it has been used for centuries by the Guarani Indians of Paraguay.
The stevia is not really a sugar at all and has been shown to not feed the candida, and raises blood sugar. The aftertaste can be a bit bitter and checkered and may take some getting used to. You can get stevia in liquid or powder form. The best alternative is of course the unprocessed and crushed green leaves. If it is liquid, a few drops are all that is needed.
3. Dates
This is a true whole meal packed with dietary fiber that helps slow down the absorption of sugar. Dates are also rich in antioxidants, iron, minerals, and tannins. Date sugar is made from dehydrated dates and is used just like you would brown sugar. We must bear in mind that it does not dissolve in water so it is better to bake or sprinkle. For a great smoothie just put a date or two in the blender with some raw cocoa and almond milk and you will know what heaven is like!
4. Raw honey
The original sweetener of the caveman. With antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, carbohydrates and phytonutrients. Raw unprocessed honey could even be considered a super food. And yes, be sure to obtain a crude kind, no benefits remaining in the processed honey or adulterated with other ingredients, but the pure honey is a natural alternative to refined sugar.
5.- Pink Himalayan salt
Believe it or not, adding some unrefined sea salt or Himalayan pink salt to your morning smoothie, sweet potato cake, fruit salad, or other sweet drink or dish can actually increase its natural sweetness without the need for sugar. Not only does salt help cover the inherent bitterness in certain foods, it also makes the natural sweetness of many foods more enhanced, meaning less sugar is needed to bring them to the desired flavor level.
This is the exact reason why many people sprinkle some salt on watermelon, lemon and other fruits before eating them. Salt essentially increases the brain's ability to process the sensation of sweetness, which in turn makes naturally sweet foods sweeter.
6.- Bee pollen
Bee pollen is another great and delicious natural alternative to refined sugar. And as an added bonus to its sweetness, bee pollen is rich in protein and carbohydrates and has vitamins and minerals. And just like local honey, eating this sugar alternative can really help treat or prevent seasonal allergies, like hay fever. Ideal for shakes / smoothies / smoothies.
7.- Agave Syrup
Agave is a natural alternative sugar derived from the root of the agave plant. It is considered low on the glycemic index, which means that it will not raise your blood sugar levels as high as other higher glycemic sweeteners (like sugar). However, even though it has this characteristic in its favor, it is composed mainly of fructose and glucose, so it should be used in moderation. They are usually in liquid form and have a slight flavor as well, so it does not dominate in flavor.
8.- Xylitol
Xylitol is an excellent natural alternative. It is found naturally in mushrooms, fruits, vegetables, and the birch tree. Similar to some of the other sweeteners here, it is considered to be low on the glycemic index, so it only slightly raises blood sugar levels when consumed.
As an added bonus to its sweetening abilities, xylitol prevents cavities and ear infections, promotes weight loss, and helps strengthen bones and teeth. It is usually found in powder form at your local health food store. It is recommended to try a sample or buy a small packet first to make sure you like the taste before buying a large bag, as it costs much more than sugar.
9.- Molasses
Molasses is a natural alternative sweetener to refined sugar that is extracted from various cereals (rice, barley, corn, etc.), berries, fruits or vegetables by a fermentation process. Of all the sweeteners, it is the one that takes the first place in terms of health and nutrition. Molasses is usually much smoother, more digestible and more nutritious and healthier than any refined sugar or artificial sweetener. It is very high in carbohydrates and B vitamins, as well as minerals, mainly potassium, calcium, phosphoric acid, iron, copper and magnesium.
The high content of carbohydrates makes molasses useful for athletes, as a remedy against soreness and for a quick recovery, as well as for those who perform intense physical and mental work. For example, molasses or cane honey is obtained by extracting cane juice, which is subjected to a cooking process until the water evaporates and the natural sugar of the fruit is concentrated. Its flavor is similar to licorice. The darker this molasses is, the more intense its flavor will be and the more nutrients it will have. This molasses can be used as a sweetener for teas, smoothies, juices, waters or desserts.
10.- Whole muscovado sugar
Unrefined muscovado sugar is a food that, consumed in moderation, is beneficial for our body since glucose provides us with the energy necessary for the proper functioning of our body. But not all sugar is equally healthy, as refined sugar lacks nutrients. Only when the energy provided by sugar is slow-release, which occurs with whole sugar, does our body benefit from the action of its vitamins and minerals. While refined sugar has lost all its nutrients and becomes a simple carbohydrate, it does not benefit our health at all.
Sugar, which is obtained from sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum), provides us with 386 calories per 100 grams, and it is advisable for a healthy person to consume 70 grams per day. Whole or brown sugar is very rich in carbohydrates, contains almost 95%, provides us with vitamins of type B (B1 and B2) and high contents of Vitamin A as well as pantothenic acid. The brownish color of muscovado sugar reveals the presence of soluble fibers that are easily absorbed and digested.
The energy provided by sugar and glucose is necessary for the proper functioning of our brain, eyes, nervous system, muscles, red blood cells, and they give us the necessary energy to face our daily tasks. But these benefits are lost when it comes to refined sugar as it has lost its nutrients in the bleaching process.
Whole grain sugar, also called brown sugar, has a caramel color due to the presence of molasses (cane honey), which also gives it a licorice-like flavor and sticky texture. Unlike white sugar, whole grain sugar is practically unrefined and thus maintains its nutritional qualities. To obtain it, it begins by crushing the sugar cane and by evaporating its juice, the sucrose crystallizes are obtained, it is reduced to a fine powder after washing with hot water
On the other hand, panela sugar, widely consumed in South America, Asia and the Philippines. It is obtained from the juice of sugar cane and is not subjected to refining, only crystallized and centrifuged, which is why it is considered the purest sugar. This integral product owes its color to a film of molasses that surrounds each crystal.
On the other hand, fruits such as mango, banana, grape extract, orange juice, and other fruits, can be elements to sweeten your smoothies or juices, especially. The haritaki I take one tea spoon in a cup of hot water with himalayan salt. You can do a cure for two weeks, or a month.
For collagen, one scoop in my tea at night, and for the barley grass juice powder two teaspoons in coconut water (helps with the taste) first thing in the morning.

Visit two largest monasteries of Drepung and Sera in the central Tibet and see the most interesting monkâs philosophical debate.
Day 4 Drive to Gyantse, 3950mts,260Km. Hotel in Gyantse You will start your tour at around 9Am from your hotel and then drive towards Gyangtse through 3 big mountain passes, Kampa La, Karo La, Simila respectively. Karola is the highest pass among them which is over 5000Mts with it's most beautiful glaciers, beautiful Yamdrok lake emerged as coral color from the top of Kampala pass. You will have your lunch at Nakartse country which is just between the Yamdrok lake and Karola glaciers. Visit Palchoe monastery and Kubum Pagoda stupa.

We will have long distant view of Mt Makalu, 8475mts. Trek across the Shaola pass 4890mts and along the Shaotso which is a small beautiful lake.
Day 9 Trek Methok Sechen-Zoksham-Tsonak-Thangsum,4400mts/6 hrs Camp After breakfast, you will start your trek through the dense forest and beautiful meadows where you can see a group of nomads with their typical Tibetan nomadic tents as well as the most famous densely forested Karma valley. Day 12 Â Explore the east Everest Base Camp. Trek above the Pethang Ringmo and enjoy the full day of exploring the east Everest Base camp and itâs biggest glaciers. Return to the same camp site
Day 13 Trek Pethang Ringmo-Tso Shurima,4900mts,5 hrs camp Today you will be viewing Khartapuri mountain-6600Mt with beautiful glaciers as well as Everest and Lhotse again. It is a valuable day for you to leisure your afternoon day nearby the lake Shurima
Day 14 Trek Tso Shurima-Langmala,5250mts-Shomaling,4170mts,5-6 hrs then route to Rongbuk monastery,110Km drive Camp After breakfast, start your trek as usual and cross the highest pass, Langma la 5250mts. From the top of the Langma la pass, you can view your last scenery of Lhotse and Everest. After the pass, you will see a small lake called Da-nyen, meaning Tibetan Bonjo in Tibetan named according to the located shape of the lake. Today's scenery is the villages of Kharta valley and their fields where they can grow barley only. After Yulok, we will be driving all the way to Rongbuk monastery. There are 110Km distance from Yulok to Rongbuk monastery, the highest monastery in the world.
Day 15 Explore Everest Base Camp and then transfer to Sakya monastery ,4050Mts/ 240Km. hotel on BB Explore Everest Base Camp by taking a conservative bus to the Everest base camp or by walk. If you walk to Everet base camp, it will take you to two hrs to get there. On the way you can visit a miraculous cave of Padmasamvawa . After two hrs trek, you get to the Everest base camp. It is the best point of enjoying the world's highest mountain and taking photos of it. You can have a basic lunch at Everest Base camp since there are many local tented tea houses where they sell instant noodles or bread etc. Late afternoon, drive back to Sakya monastery. Have evening visit to the monastery and monks debating.
Day 16 Drive from Sakya to Shigatse by van (3900m/150km)-Shigatse-Lhasa by train (3650Mts/ 430KM ) Hotel on B.B Morning visit Sakya monastery which dates back to the 12th century and the Buddhism library in Sakya is huge and amazing. Drive back to Shigatse at the distance of 150km and from Shigatse to Lhasa, you will take train along the Bharmaputra river with a landscape of sandy hills, villages, and Rulak Yungdrung ling at the otherside of the river. You will have lunch in a small town called Nyenmo which is the border point between Shigatse and Lhasa.
Day 17 Drive from Lhasa to Lhasa Gongkar airport.(3600Mts/ 60Km ) End the trip

South Africaâs Top 10 Instagrammable Wine Farms
Fact: There are over 568 wine farms in the Winelands offering first-class views and outstanding wines. So letâs just caveat right at the start to say that picking our top 10 Instagrammable wine farms was no easy feat. Points went to the variety of activities available, location and sheer jaw-dropping power. While each to their own, we donât think anyone could deny the likes these wine farms would collect on your feed:
1. Bosjes
Itâs almost like a mirage. A relative newcomer to the 300+ year old wine industry, Bosjes (meaning âsmall bushesâ in Dutch) is a luxury country estate located in the Breedekloof Valley. When the estate first opened in 2017, the now much-lauded chapel (designed by Coetzee Steyn from Steyn Studio) stole the show on Instagram, thanks to the dramatic glass walls and white curves of the roof. Located just over an hours drive from Cape Town, this gorgeous destination produces wine grapes, olives, peaches and proteas. Besides the avant-garde chapel, there are photo ops all around, including the Chapel Gardens, the Bosjes Kombuis and Tea Garden. A perfect day trip.

2. Babylonstoren
Weâd be shot if Babylonstoren wasnât on our list, as this is the Winelandsâ Instagram Mecca. And for good reason too! Since opening their doors in 2010, Babylonstoren has focused on surrounding all visitors with a thoughtfully designed and curated offering. No stone has been left unturned â quite literally. This 200-hectare farm, dating back to 1692, lies in the Drakenstein Valley (halfway between Franschhoek and Paarl). The 3.5-hectare garden is not only beautifully manicured, but it also supplies three award-winning restaurants on the property. Between the cactus garden, the greenhouse, the spa (boasting a stunning salt room built with blocks of Himalayan salt no less!) and the scent shop, your Instagram wonât know what hit it.

3. Boschendal
One thing South African wine farms know how to do very well is to offer more than just wine to its visitors. These days, most wine farms are turning into coveted destinations, ensuring there is something for everyone. Boschendal is leading the way with this concept, offering TWO tasting room spaces (the Cellar Door and Manor House), Die Werf (a fine-dining restaurant) as well as a deli, a farm shop and butchery, a spa, manicured gardens, picnics, mountain bike trails and of course, guesthouses for those wanting to spend more time there. Between all of these activities, there is also a rich history dating back to 1685, when the estate was granted to a Huguenot refugee Jean le Long. But we wonât judge you if youâre just there for a shot in Die Werfâs bathroom â a surprisingly unmissable space for a snap!

Now, before you start thinking that only places beginning with a âBâ are worthy of Instagram, donât worry â we have plenty of other wine farms from all letters of the alphabet to share! But before we do, letâs give a shout out to Constantiaâs little gem â Beau Constantia. After devastating fires destroyed the fynbos and pine forests on the property in 2000, the slopes were cleared and terraced, thereby exposing the great potential for the planting of vineyards. Pierre and Cecily Du Preez purchased the 22-hectare property in 2002, and since then, the striking vineyards have gone on to produce an impressive range of cultivated varieties including Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. What makes this a gem are the sweeping views (all the way to False Bay on a clear day) from the top of Constantia Nek, as well as access to one of the best-rated restaurants in Cape Town, Chefâs Warehouse. The balance between cutting-edge cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere make this an Insta-friendly hotspot.

5. Vergelegen
Donât worry if you canât pronounce it â youâre not alone. But thatâs not the point of this idyllic wine farm. As South Africaâs second oldest estate, this location is brimming full of history and atmosphere, inviting visitors to take a slow walk around the 17 manicured gardens (remember to take a shot in front of the tree planted in 1700!) or dine casually or top-end at the estateâs award-winning restaurants. Whatâs extra lovely is that if you have little ones with you, there is an excellent child-friendly playground outside the Stables Bistro, which is not only practical but also designed with good aesthetic and safety in mind. Side note: If you have a chance, book a cellar tour to check out the modern, multiple level, gravity flow cellar first hand! Totally Insta-worthy, trust us.

6. Delaire Graff
Thereâs good reason for Delaire Graff being known as the âjewel of the winelandsâ and lands itself as one of our top 10 Instagrammable wine farms. Located between the Hottentots Holland mountains and overlooking the vineyards of Stellenbosch, the estate belongs to Laurence Graff OBE â Chairman of Graff Diamonds Holdings. No expense has been spared in creating a perfectly executed tasting room, spa, hotel, restaurant and retail store. One of the most striking spaces to visit is the heavily-guarded on-site Graff Diamonds jewellry store, which houses pieces comfortably priced in the hundreds of thousands. But for a perfect shot, our recommendation is to sit outside on the Wine Lounge terrace at sunset, enjoying a tasting and soaking in a truly breathtaking view that will have your followers sending you heart eyes.

7. Cape Point Vineyards
When you think Noordhoek, âwine farmâ might not immediately come to mind. But as it happens, Cape Point Vineyards is situated at the very end of Chapmanâs Peak Drive in Noordhoek. This mountainous location means the venue overlooks the Atlantic ocean, the False Bay coast, as well as a vast area of fynbos leading up to the coastline. The views are nothing less than breathtaking â where else do you get direct ocean and vineyard views? As itâs within Cape Town city limits, this is a great spot to head to for a wine tasting followed by a leisurely lunch, or if youâre up for something a little more romantic, a picnic on the lawn next to the lake (yes, a lake). Hello pretty!

8. Spier
So remember we mentioned how South African wine farms are really good at becoming destinations? Spier is another example. Itâs actually quite hard to keep up with how much they have going on â whether itâs an art exhibition (this past summer they had a super Instagrammable âLight Art Festivalâ), a new restaurant opening (Vadas Smokehouse has an American-style pecan nut pie that will make you want to drive out there just to try it), or an Eagle Encounters birds of prey rehabilitation centre, there is A LOT to take in (and take photos of) at one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. Beyond the perfectly manicured gardens, the hotel is found in a cluster of colourful, flat-roofed buildings that are reminiscent of homes in the historic Bo-Kaap â inviting visitors to walk around and get lost in the bucolic beauty of this private paradise.

9. Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines
When you hear the words âMr Singhâ and âFranschhoekâ together in one sentence, you know the outcome is going to be nothing short of amazing. And so it is with Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines. First opening in 2016, The Leeu Collectionâs founder Analjit Singh partnered in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines alongside Chris and Andrea Mullineux, the skilled winemaking duo behind these award-winning wines. The Wine Studio, their elegant tasting venue, is housed on Leeu Estates. Upon entering the estate, you will be gobsmacked at how much attention to detail there is across the 68 hectares (168 acres) of landscaped gardens, manicured vineyards and indigenous fynbos. As Mr Singh is an avid gardener himself, the Leeu Collection properties have been stylishly and meticulously landscaped and is worthy of your feed. As is the wine, the spa, the hotel and just about everything else on this pristine property.

10. Spice Route
Last but certainly not least is another Cape Winelands ultimate âdestinationâ â the Spice Route. Named after the historic Dutch East Trading Company shipping route, this restored wine farm houses a diverse collection of artisans that celebrate Cape culture and flavour. While the main call to action is the Spice Route Wine tasting room located in a cosy cellar-inspired space, there is a veritable cornucopia of activity to keep all visitors busy. Start the day with breakfast at Chefs Liam Tomlin and Neil Jewell latest restaurant, Jewell, which has a picturesque view of the Simonsberg mountains. Next up, head for a beer tasting at one of the Capeâs pioneering craft beer breweries, CBC, before enjoying a chocolate tasting next door at DV Chocolate. If thereâs room for lunch, try a burger special at Barley & Biltong, before wrapping up the day with a coffee at DV Cafe.
