Yandere sugar daddy made me giggle with him buying me a car 🚗 Cuz I can’t drive
This then led me to think how fucked I am in a relationship with any of your yanderes cuz I’m practically a sitting duck 🩆 What am I going to do if I wanna get away from them? Wait on the side of the road to take a public transport bus? 🚌 Or do I gotta bike my way to freedom? đŸšČ 😭
Speaking of vehicles though
for the yanderes that this question is appreciable
what’re the cars they drive vs. the dream car or car that you think fits their aesthetic? 🚗
Also who’s ok with me being their cute lil passenger princess? 👑
girl, it's so embarrassing but I can't drive either 😭
Atp, I think we'll need to Uber our way to freedom. Tip the drive 100% in case of damages caused by deranged exes.
Yandere boys and their cars
Yandere! Boyfriend definitely drives a Jeep wrangler. He's a big guy and he needs the extra space. I also see him as the more outdoorsy type, so a Jeep is perfect for all his hiking and climbing gear. He loves his car for the sole reason that you like sitting shotgun in summer, the roof down and your hair blowing in the wind. It makes for a damn pretty sight.
Yandere! State Trooper is assigned one of those State Police Dodge Challengers. All American muscle that thrums up through the seats. If there's ever a car chase or an evading suspect, he's first on the scene. On quiet nights, he'll head to the highway and gun it. V8 engine roaring even louder than the sirens. He's not supposed to, but he likes taking you for a drive now and then. He likes the way you cling to the dash and shake when he blows through the speed limit.
Yandere! Cop is a certified Ford pickup kind of guy. It's got space, it's got power but most importantly, it doesn't stand out. This is Middle America baby, they're everywhere. When he follows you, he knows for a fact you won't notice him. His only customization is the extremely tinted windows. Can't have you seeing his face when he takes all those pictures of you, now can he?
Yandere! Academic Rival has trustfund money to spend and his daddy's whole garage to choose from. For everyday, I can see him driving a BMW or Audi roadster. Sleek, sporty and modern. But on the weekends, when he's driving up the coast to his country house, he's definitely taking something vintage. He has a whole collection of luxury old money convertibles - every single one of them something you expect to see at St. Moritz.
Yandere! Mobster drives a Cadillac Town Sedan. It's got a powerful engine to outrun the pigs and plenty of trunk space to stash smuggled alcohol. He absolutely adores taking you on long drives. Windows open to catch the fresh air, picnic basket on the back seat, your head resting on his shoulder on the way home... What's not to love?
Yandere! Sugar Daddy is new money. And a tech nerd. So I see him mostly driving electric cars, maybe a Porsche Taycan for 'everyday use' (who the hell drives a Porsche like a regular commuter car? Your Croesus rich boyfriend, that's who). And something extra luxurious for weekends and date nights - probably something like the Yangwang U9. He loves messing around with the extra features and plugging the cars into his computer diagnostic system. Surprisingly, he's not that fond of actually driving. He much prefers you do it and let him enjoy the scenery.
Yandere! Werewolf drives a vintage cherry red Mustang. He bought it cheap off an older guy who hated the repairs, and spent all summer working on it. By extension, that meant you spent all summer sprawled across the backseat, thumbing through fashion magazines and listening to golden oldies on the radio. It's got plenty of space and if he was the kinda guy to make a move on a girl at the drive in, this would be the car to do it in.

The double doors to the emergency room burst open with a team of paramedics meeting a team of nurses over the limp body that was being rushed in on a gurney.
"26-year-old male. One of many from the four-car pile-up on Highway 400. Blunt head trauma —shattered ribs, compound fractures in both legs. He's unconscious, showing premature signs of decline. We need to get him stabilized immediately."
"Prepare the operation room." One of the nurses orders and the chaos moves around the corner with the gurney.
A team of trauma surgeons and nurses worked frantically to stabilize him. He was quickly assessed for injuries, and diagnostic tests revealed the extent of the damage he had sustained
The man suffered from internal injuries, including a punctured lung and severe abdominal trauma. There was a point when doctors were sure he wouldn't make it but they were wrong.
After undergoing several surgeries in the first few days following the accident, including procedures to repair his fractured bones, remove damaged tissue, and stabilize his internal injuries he was beginning to show small signs of improvement.
However, it was only the beginning of a very long and hard journey for him.

"Where is she?" You stand up at the sight of your brother-in-law, Jin rushing into the waiting room of the labour and delivery wing. Face flushed and hair a bit frazzled. He'd obviously run here from the parking lot.
"Down the hall to your left. They're just running some tests and checking the baby." He pauses in his steps, letting it all sink in. Placing a hand on his chest as he tried to stabilize his breathing.
Taking the chance to place a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Everything is going to be okay, breathe." You encourage, taking tips from the Lamaze classes your sister had made the three of you take in preparation for this baby.
He smiles before making his way to his wife and out of sight.
Meanwhile, you stayed put in the waiting room as your sister made it very clear she did not want you in the room any time her vagina was out and you weren't going to argue.
Seeing that the doctors needed to check up on the baby once the two of you arrived no less than 15 minutes ago, you had already excused yourself to the hall.
Once you saw the familiar nurse you remember being assigned to your sister walk past you, you deemed it was safe enough to return to her room. Knocking first with your hand over your eyes.
There was soft laughter, "It's been put away, you can open your eyes." Eunji says, allowing you to lower your palm from your gaze to see Seokjin sitting on a chair nestled near Eunji's bedside.
"Wow, they've got you hooked up like a TV." You snort, pointing to the IV drip, pulse oximeter, and various other tubes taped to her arm.
Shaking her head at your typical Y/n-Antics but refusing to acknowledge your joke any further. "What did the nurse say?" Jin asks, almost anxiously, taking her hand in his.
"The baby is fine, she's healthy, but I'm a long way from giving birth. Apparently-" Eunji pauses, her eyes squeezing shut just as they did back at your place when the two of you discovered she'd been having contractions.
Taking deep breaths she opens her eyes and resumes speaking as if it never happened, "Apparently I'm only one centimeter dilated. I'm already tired of this place." She pouts sadly while Jin gently moves a stray hair from out of her face.
You sighed internally, hoping that one day you'd find that.
"I'm just glad you guys made it here safely. The roads are getting worse with that blizzard coming in tonight." Jin shares which prompts you to check your phone while the couple talks about what a normal couple would discuss at a time like this.
Jin was right. There in fact was a blizzard heading your way and it was nasty. Up to six feet of snow in some regions and harsh winds. It was practically impossible to see the road through all the flurries on your way here.
It was unsafe for anyone to be driving at a time like this hence why Eunji had already begged your parents to stay home until the roads were safe. No matter how much she knew your parents wanted to be present for the birth of their first grandchild it was just too dangerous.
This winter was packed with a punch this year. You can't forget the first major storm of the season about two months ago that blindsided everyone.
The severity of the storm dawns on you as you remember driving past a nasty collision on the highway on your way home from work.
You could only hope that this would be the end of the strenuous icy season and that spring would be just around the corner. You were looking forward to the blossoming season of spring but not as much as you were looking forward to holding your niece in your arms in just a few short hours.
𓆩♥đ“†Ș
Clearly, you and your niece weren't on the same page.
It's been 4 hours and the hospital was on lockdown, any visitors in the building were forbidden from leaving due to the severity of the storm outside. Honestly, some part of you believed you would have been able to hold your niece and go home all in the last three hours, but oh how you were wrong.
"What do you mean you're only 3 centimetres along?" You say, exhausted from waiting. "Oh, I'm sorry Y/n, are you tired? How inconsiderate of me!" She exclaims, clearly annoyed with you.
You dropped your shoulders, you deserved that. Eunji had been battling her contractions restlessly for hours on end, you couldn't imagine how she felt.
"Do you want me to get you anything?" She shakes her head while Jin returns with a full cup of ice for her to chew on. Your stomach rumbles, and not quietly.
"You should go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I'll stay with Eunji." Jin offers and you nod, deciding it was time for a break anyway.
With your bag slung over your shoulder, you stood in the café line, unsure what to get before deciding to get a typical iced coffee and a turkey sandwich.
Once it came time to find a spot, your eyes were scanning every nook and cranny of the filled cafeteria due to the overwhelming number of people trapped in this building just as you were.
Finally, you found one available spot, at an occupied table. "Is anyone sitting here?" You ask the man who was enjoying his own coffee. "It's all yours," He smiles and you reciprocate it as you take a seat.
Paying him no mind as you bite into your meal and pull out the book you've been reading over the last few weeks.
"The String of Fate," The man across from you mumbles as he reads the title of your book causing your eyes to flicker to his. "What's it about?" You close the book almost too eagerly.
"Do you believe in soulmates?" He blinks at you.
"Y'know, like two people that are destined to be together no matter the time or place." His brow arches. "Not a chance." You frown, "Well, basically this book explains the concept of soulmates and how they're connected by this invisible string between them that will always guide them back to each other. No matter the time or place."
He sighs heavily, head now resting on his hand. "I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and assume that you believe in soulmates?"
"What's there not to believe? It makes total sense-" You ask, about to take your first bite of your sandwich. "I wouldn't eat that if I were you," He says quickly, and you close your mouth, placing the sandwich back down.
"Why not?" He simply stares at you, "Trust me. I've been here long enough to know." You nod slowly, "You must visit a lot."
With a shrug of his shoulders, he finishes the last of his coffee, "Something like that." He mumbles.
Your stomach reminds you of the hunger you'd just permitted to exist longer all in the name of this handsome stranger you'd just met. "So what can I eat here?"
He grins and your stomach twists.
"Follow me." You pack up your stuff and stand. Unable to process your thoughts once the man moves away from the table in his wheelchair.
"Oh c'mon, don't give me that look." He sighs.
"What look?" You counter, genuinely confused.
"That look of 'oh my gosh, he's in a wheelchair. Now everything is different.'" He says in a slightly raised tone.
"First of all, I didn't think that at all. I was just shocked." He looked almost deflated until you spoke up, "So are we still getting jello or what?" He smiles, leading the way.
-
"Hey! Hey! Mister Lightning McQueen, do you mind slowing down a bit? Or at least tell me your name so I don't have to keep yelling mister." You pant, finally catching up to him at the end of the hall.
"Sorry." He flushes a light pink before a quick clearing of his throat, "I'm Jungkook." He stretches his hand and you shake it gently, "Y/n." You say, the two of you hold hands a little longer than necessary before a visitor attempts to get by and you pull your hand away first.
Fast forward to the two of you sitting on the chairs in god knows which wing of the hospital, the building was so damn big. Licking the spoons of your delicious cherry jello as you were both facing the window that looked out into the midnight sky.
"So what brings you here tonight?" He asks as he scoops around his cup for another spoonful. "My sister is giving birth. At least that's what I thought was supposed to happen but the baby doesn't want to come yet." He laughs, "That's amazing. Not the part about the baby holding your sister's womb hostage but- you know what I'm trying to say."
Unable to control your laughter at his bizarre wording, "Yeah, I get it." A silence falls between the two of you, sitting on your shoulders. You wanted to say something but you weren't sure- "It's okay, Y/n. You can ask." He speaks without even looking at you. Focused on getting his next spoon of jello.
"How did you end up here?" You ask and Jungkook begins the age-old story. He was coming home from work during that crazy storm 2 months ago. He said he didn't remember much from the actual accident, one second he's in his lane and the next there's an eighteen-wheeler sliding right into him and dragging two others in with him.
"I don't even remember being rushed in here, I just remember waking up 3 days later and the doctors telling me I was lucky to be alive. Telling me I had basically injured every bone I had. Head trauma, shattered ribs, a punctured lung, fractured both my legs- and the list goes on."
Your jaw falls open. Hand raising to cover your mouth for two reasons.
"You really are lucky to be alive."
It seems that Jungkook disagrees, "Yet I don't feel all that lucky. I wake up to the same faces, getting poked at and pricked every hour. Going to rehab every other day, my body hurts constantly. I can't even count how many painkillers and antibiotics I take every morning." You frown.
"I'm grateful to be making progress of course, but sometimes It feels like the world is passing me by while I'm standing still-- or sitting, for that matter.." You'd never connected to anything more.
"I totally understand. Under different circumstances of course, but I think I get what you mean. Ever since I was 7 I'd had this perfect vision of how my life should be by the time I was 25. A nice house, with a loving husband and maybe a baby on the way with my six-figure paying job but here I am, 26, sitting in a waiting room, single, waiting for my sister to have a baby so that I can go home to my office job that sure as hell doesn't pay enough for a nice house."
Your story provokes a soft chuckle to come rumbling from Jungkook's chest and you swat at him. "And it's like, you want to take steps forward but it's almost like you can't because everything is out of your control. The most decisive factor of a good life is controlled by everyone but you. It sucks." Jungkook expands on your thoughts further and you'd never felt so seen before.
"I-" You begin but the PA system begins to blare someone's voice as they make an announcement.
"Code Yellow. Code Yellow." Jungkook's vision darts to his wristwatch. "Shit. It's been an hour already?" You weren't following, "What's going on?" Jungkook begins to roll back, tossing away his garbage in the bin while you stand and do the same.
"Code yellow is just their dramatic way of declaring a patient is missing. Although-" His eyes fly past you and to whoever was behind you, it was a furious nurse. "Jeon Jungkook." She says and he groans, "I know- I know."
Jungkook hardly got to speak before he was being pushed away back to wherever his room was. "I hope your sister has a safe delivery." You stand still in the middle of the hall as you watch Jungkook get whisked out of sight.
Unable to stop thinking about how disappointed he looked once that nurse appeared. Clearly, he didn't want to go back. You couldn't shake what he told you, about seeing the same people every day, following the same painful routine.
You wondered if he had any family that visited him.
Speaking of which, it was time for you to return to your own.
𓆩♥đ“†Ș
7 hours later you were finally holding the most perfect baby girl in your arms. "She's beautiful, Eunji," you say tearfully, staring at the adorable infant who was just so tiny in your arms.
"I can't believe I'm holding your baby right now." You say to no one in particular while Seokjin stands behind you looking down at the baby, he looks like he's still in awe himself.
Carefully passing her back into your sister's tired arms. You had the honour of taking their first family photo. With Seokjin's eyes full of love and your sister displaying the happiest smile you'd ever seen.
"She's perfect." You hear him whisper with a kiss to Eunji's forehead and your heart just about melts at the heartwarming sight.
𓆩♥đ“†Ș 7 days later
The moment that you left that hospital that morning you felt almost... sad? Like you had a happiness hangover. You were truly overjoyed, you finally got to meet your niece and you met Jungkook who left an unanticipated imprint on your brain.
You tapped your nails against the desk in your cubicle, your bottom lip tucked between your teeth as your eyes glanced at the time at the bottom of the computer screen.
Your break was in 20 minutes, you had an hour to do whatever and sure, you could spend it here continuing your work so that you could go home earlier...but the hospital is nearby...
No more than a 10-minute drive.. maybe you could drop by? Just for a little?
You didn't leave yourself much time to debate it as you were already marching out of the office the moment the clock hit 12. You'd decided to pick up some flowers from the gift shop on your way up.
Following the receptionist's instructions that she gave you to locate his room with a nervous click of your heels with each step. What if he didn't want to see you? Does he even remember you?
You saw him through the glass window briefly and adjusted yourself to an angle where he couldn't see you. He was just laying there. Staring up at the ceiling, but he sat up once a nurse walked in.
It seemed that she was doing some routine checkups before pricking him with a needle of some kind. You'd always been the type to squirm with needles yet he was unfazed, it was like he couldn't even feel it.
Once she left she passed you with a small smile. Slowly you walk to the door and his gaze slowly drags towards you. His eyes smile before his lips, and he sits up.
"Y/n!" He says with such a joyful tone, you would never expect the voice to belong to someone sitting in a hospital bed. "Hi," You say, unsure of what to do with the flowers.
"Don't tell me you're still waiting for your sister to give birth." He says with a little sarcasm and you laugh with a shake of your head. "No, little miss Seol-a came fashionably late."
"As in 'snow child'? That's a perfect name." You agree. Watching him as his gaze drops to your arms. "Oh- These are for you." Bringing the small bouquet of tiger lilies to him, he accepts it gratefully.
"Thank you-- Really, you didn't have to. You visiting me is more than enough of a gift, and they're Tiger Lilies, too. Fun fact, that's actually my birth flower." It was like a lightbulb had gone off in your head but you ignored it.
Maybe that was just a coincidence, but you didn't like that word. You preferred to use something much stronger, that starts with an 'F', and ends with an 'ate'.
"Pull up a chair, please. I don't want to be the only one sitting." He insists, gesturing to the chair near the wall and you bring it a bit closer.
Letting out a soft sigh of relief once you were off your feet, "God, I hate heels." You mutter, "I'm guessing you have to wear them for that magical job of yours," Your face turns sour, "Magic isn't the word I'd use to describe it,"
Just like that the two of you fell down a rabbit hole of conversation, exchanging work experiences and even phone numbers at one point.
"So tell me, Y/n. In a perfect world, if you could just drop everything, what would you do?" You pretended to give it thought as if you hadn't known for the last decade. "I'd want to open a hair salon... Is that crazy? I don't think I've ever actually said that out loud before."
"What's stopping you?" You laugh, a little too hard, thinking of the dozens of reasons why it wasn't practical and way too impulsive but the longer you looked at his neutral expression you began to reflect on the reasons.
And they all came back to the same root, "What if I fail?" He shrugs, "You can't fail unless you give up." You couldn't believe you were actually considering this. Shaking your head dramatically, clearing your brain.
"You're such a bad influence, y'know? I can't believe you really almost made me do that." His bunny-like smile is on display when he speaks, "That wasn't me, that was your instinct. For a brief second, you just listened to your heart."
Woah.
"Wanna see something cool?" His hand raises and gestures to his lower body, and you watch as the blankets begin to stretch over the small peak that began to form under the covers as he bends his left knee slightly.
"Jungkook! That's incredible." You gasped, eyes wide and you weren't sure what came over you, but before you knew it you'd taken him in your arms.
His body was still a bit weak but his arms responded almost immediately. Holding you still for the short duration of the hug before you pulled away.
"Are you okay- I'm sorry, did I hurt you-" A small panic consumes you as Jungkook's eyes tint a faint red and well with tears. "No, no. You didn't do anything wrong. It's just been so long since someone's been so happy for me."
His words weighed down in your chest like a pile of bricks. "Does no one visit you?"
"All my friends and family came to visit right after the accident. Then it was just my best friends and my parents who came a few times a week. Soon people don't have time to visit someone who makes such little progress every day."
He continues to explain, "But I don't hold it against them. It's a time commitment. The real world is more demanding than I am and I just can't wait for the day I get to meet them out there."
Gently placing your hand on top of his, "You're gonna be out of here before you know it-" A familiar ringer goes off in your bag. You pull out your phone and stop the alarm. "Well, my break ends soon." You stand and you tell yourself that you're imagining the small frown peels over his lips.
Putting the chair back where you found it you walk to the door. "Bye Jungkook, it was good to see you again." With that, you walk away and Jungkook is left in despair. That was it? It's over?
You were just gonna walk into his room and bless him with the most revitalizing conversation he's ever had and you're leaving?
Before he gets the chance to deflate into his pillows your head pops back into the doorframe, "See you tomorrow." You wink and vanish once again. Knowing that you'd given him a little wave of sadness at first.
His shoulders shake with laughter, relieved.
𓆩♥đ“†Ș
Staying true to your word, you in fact did go back to visit him the next day, except you went after your shift since 40 minutes simply wasn't enough time.
For the first few weeks of your daily visits, Jungkook was afraid that one day you would stop coming and he wouldn't see you again, but once three months had passed, there was no doubt in his mind he would walk out of this hospital without you by his side.
You'd even met his parents once, by accident of course. You were just leaving when they'd been walking in and of course, they had no idea who you were.
Telling them about how the two of you met was quite entertaining, Accidentally mentioning the part where Jungkook had been called a missing patient which earned him a soft pinch to his arm from his mother.
But you'll never forget the words his mother whispered in your ear as she hugged you. "Thank you for loving my son." Your cheeks flushed and you stuttered, trying to clarify things but she didn't want to hear it.
"It's okay, I know." She says with the most subtle of winks before walking off with her husband who shook your hand graciously.
Not every day was full of laughs and feasts that you'd bring him from the outside world, there were definitely down days. Days when the pain would call for a stronger dose of his medications which left him burnt out and groggy.
But there were also good days like today. You had the honour of helping Jungkook take some of his first steps for a few feet before being right behind him with the wheelchair.
You weren't able to stop your tears while Jungkook apologized to the physical therapist for your constant crying. You cried every time you saw him move on his own, but he thinks it's cute.
It's evident how much you care about him. By now your entire family knew about your blossomed friendship, and it seems he was all you could talk about. He could only hope that you knew how much he cared about you.
He would love to surprise you at work one day with lunch or take you to your favourite places. Alas, that was among the list of things he unfortunately couldn't control but promised to do once he got out.
He had a section of notes dedicated to you and all the places he would take you, it's what he always hid against his chest anytime you tried peaking.
-
"You won't believe what I just did!" Those are the first words that escape your mouth in the most dramatic of ways as you practically burst into his room.
He jolts, his book now falling forgotten from his fingers, you'd startled him and you apologized. You weren't usually here at noon. So he welcomes your explanation with a warm smile and curious eyes.
"So I went to work this morning, and they called us all in for a meeting. I was expecting another spontaneous workshop about professional behaviour or something. They drop this huge bomb on us that the company is downsizing so they're laying off a third of the company and basically cutting everyone's salary in half." It all comes out in a single breath, so you give yourself some time to breathe.
Jungkook wasn't following, "This sounds like... bad news? Am I missing something? Why do you look so happy?"
"Because I quit my job. I've been thinking about what you said for a while now, about following my heart, and I think I've always been waiting for some kind of sign or opportunity to just go for it, so today was the day." Now that you'd finally gotten the jitters out, you pulled up a chair.
"I know it's crazy, I don't know what I was thinking, but I just got off the phone with one of the property managers of those empty studios downtown and it was all so exciting and I don't even know where I'm going to get the money but I think I can-"
Jungkook finally silenced you with his lips.
He kissed you.
His lips were soft as they worked against yours. You could feel him smile as the kiss deepened. You moved out of your chair to the bed without breaking contact. Pulling away briefly for air but resuming as though you couldn't be apart for more than a second.
You weren't sure when you'd ended up on top of him with Jungkook on his back and your hips grinding down onto his softly, still a bit cautious.
"You have-" He kisses down your neck, peppering kisses between his words, "-No idea-" His lips kissing right below your ear, "-How long I've wanted to kiss you." His teeth gently nibble on the skin of your ear causing a whine to escape your lips.
Suddenly there was a fast beeping and it was only getting faster.
A nurse walks in and you just about throw yourself off of Jungkook and onto the ground. "What's going on in here? Your heart rate was way too fast, Mr. Jeon." He bites his lip nervously while you get yourself on your feet.
"Sorry, Nurse Lynn. I was just trying some new exercises and I guess I got a bit carried away." He says the last part with a lustful look in his eye when he glances towards you.
Once she left you let your hand cover your mouth in pure shock, laughing uncontrollably. "Oh my god, I can't believe that just happened." Jungkook throws his head back onto the pillows with a heavy breath.
"Those nurses can't let me have shit in here. I can't even rub one out in the shower without them barging in." Your jaw drops, "It's happened more times than I'd like to speak about." The shame that seems to swallow him up makes you laugh even harder.
-
"How's the salon going?" He's the first to ask you once you walk out of the bathroom and your shoulders drop. Taking a seat beside him on the bed, "It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. My contractor is being a total pain in the ass, but at least it's starting to come together, look-"
You swipe through the photos of the empty studio that was now painted. "I can't wait to see it." He says, and you look away from the screen. Focusing on his beautiful brown eyes. "Me too." He steals a sweet kiss from you before resuming his swipe through your phone with a cheeky grin.
For the first time, you noticed how empty his left arm was compared to his right. His right arm was covered in tattoos that the two of you had spent nearly an hour talking about once, while his left arm was blank.
"Why don't you have any tattoos on your left arm?" He places down your phone, making eye contact with you once again. "I wanna save it for something special, something meaningful, like the Batman symbol." His nerdy remark makes you snort.
𓆩♥đ“†Ș
"Hi Jungko-Oh." This was unusual.
Of all the times you'd visited Jungkook, there was probably only one other time where you'd caught him sleeping, although that was a late night. It was only sometime around 3 in the afternoon.
You didn't want to disturb him, so you left him a little sticky note for him to read when he wakes up. You didn't want him to think that you never came.
The following day the two of you were having a bit of a hard time getting Jungkook out of bed. "I thought you wanted to do some more walking?" You offer, standing with his walker but he laid back unmotivated.
"Not today, maybe another day. I'm just a bit tired." He mumbles and you nod, "Oh. Okay." But your heart wasn't settled, something was wrong.
The week continued with his slow responses and fatigue. "Are you okay?" He hums, his eyes shutting tight as he grunts softly. "Yeah, just got a bit of a headache, that's all. I'll be better by tomorrow." He reassures you, and you insist on getting him some water.
"Nurse Lynn." You call out for the Nurse as you cross paths as you return from refilling Jungkook's water bottle. She stops and begins to approach you. "Jungkook has been acting a bit off lately. He's been really tired and he says he has a headache and I just want to know if anything is going on."
You can see that she really begins to think about anything it could be. You follow her as she goes off to check his charts. Looking through the window, Jungkook had already fallen asleep.
"His numbers seem to be fine, but we'll keep a close eye on them tonight and run some tests in the morning." Leaving you with a reassuring hand on your shoulder, but you still didn't feel any better.
You went home to your parents' house. You'd moved back home after impulsively quitting your job since there was no way you'd be able to afford your old apartment anymore. Besides, this arrangement made the most sense.
Now you were able to save your money and focus on your salon. The salon Jungkook had inspired you to open, god you couldn't stop thinking about him. Something felt off.
"Y/n?" Your dad snaps his fingers in front of you, finally catching your attention. "Sorry- What?"
"Your mom and I were wondering if you'd be joining us for dinner or if you already ate." You shake your head slowly, "It's okay, I'm not hungry."
"Is everything okay?'' Your stretches her neck from where she sat on the couch. "I don't know. Jungkook's been acting off lately and I just don't know if everything is okay." Anyone who heard you could hear the worry that wavered in your tone. You wanted nothing more than for him to be okay.
"Oh, honey." Your parents hugged you and for a moment you felt like everything was going to be okay.
Until it wasn't.
-
It was around 2 in the morning when you'd gotten a call from Jungkook's mom.
He'd gone into a coma.
You didn't find yourself to be a religious person yet you found yourself praying to any god in the sky who was listening as you drove to the hospital that he would be okay.
Running through the halls, letting out careless apologies to those you nearly bumped into as you did so. "What happened?!" You say frantically, his mother was in no state to speak, her eyes were bloodshot and her lips quivered whenever she tried to speak.
Instead, his father took on the role to tell you, "The doctors said there were unforeseen complications from his accident. There was some inflammation in his brain that went undetected and was applying pressure to his brain stem which is why he was experiencing those headaches and fatigue. They've done all they can to reduce the swelling, but there's no guarantee he'll-"
His dad struggles to finish his sentence, choking up a bit himself at the possibility of Jungkook never waking up. "C-Can I see him?" You swallow back your tears and that sore feeling in your throat as you walk in slowly.
You didn't want to cry, but the moment you saw him hooked up to all those machines, the same ones he hated so much, the way his body lay so still, it broke you.
Your cries came out more as wails than anything else, you couldn't say anything but his name. You weren't just crying, you were begging, pleading with the gods to spare him.
"Y/n-" You hear his dad's voice behind you, catching you in his arms just as you fall to your knees. He could have never anticipated a reaction quite like this one. It seems he underestimated how much Jungkook meant to you.
Now he knows.
All his friends and family knew.
As they trickled in and out of Jungkook's hospital room over the following weeks they would see you sitting by his side, the same way you did all the days before.
His mom liked to say you were there more than Jungkook was. She knew he was lucky, he'd found something special with you. A kind of love that was rare to come across these days.
You spent every waking moment beside him until visiting hours were over, and would be back the next morning the moment they begin. Your parents told you to keep yourself busy with your salon and you tried, but how could you when everything inside reminded you of him?
Today was a quiet day, with no visitors or flowers for you to find space for as his room was filled. You focused on reading to him. You'd been told that hearing familiar voices can help to stimulate brain activity and you were willing to do anything.
"As Batman ran through the dark streets of Gotham-" You chuckled to yourself, unable to take the story seriously.
According to his parents, this was his favourite comic book growing up, and you'd been reading it to him for the last few days, and yet you still weren't interested in DC.
You rummaged through the bag of books you had on the side, your fingertips grasped the familiar cover that started it all. "The String of Fate" You mumble, a soft smile as the title takes you back to the night you met.
Back then he was nothing more than an opinionated patient on the loose, and now, he was everything.
You opened the book, going back to the page you'd bookmarked as a favourite. Deciding to read it out loud for the sake of Jungkook hearing your voice.
"In the garden of destiny, soulmates blossom, each petal a reflection of the other's beauty, each leaf a testament to their shared growth. Together, they tend to the soil of their dreams, nurturing them with the water of their love, as they chase the sunsets of tomorrow, hand in hand, forever intertwined."
Your voice began to shake halfway through, and your tears landed on every other word. You closed the book, placing it back in the bag so that you could take Jungkook's hands in yours.
"Please," You whispered, "I love you."
It was no surprise to anyone. You had nothing but love for the man who changed your world for the better. He had no idea how much space he takes up in your head, your heart. It's his, it belongs to him.
"Can we come in?" There are soft knocks on the door and you're pleasantly surprised to see Jin and your sister, assuming the baby was with your parents.
"Thank you for coming," You hug them both, "If there's someone important enough that you went MIA during my labour, then I have to meet him." Eunji says jokingly and you smile sadly, "I just wish you got to meet under better circumstances."
The days turned to night then day once again, and the pattern continued endlessly for the following month. It just continued to repeat in this painful process of dwindling hope.
Nothing could have prepared you for the devastating conversation with the doctor this morning.
"Please understand, during this difficult time, we have carefully monitored Jungkook's minimal brain activity. Given the duration of his coma and after our intensive examination of his condition, if there were indications for a potential recovery leading to him waking up, we would have observed signs by now. I know this news is incredibly challenging to hear but-"
His mother wept.
"We're so sorry." The doctor says as if it was rehearsed, you couldn't imagine how many times he'd had to give such gut-wrenching news to other families.
You listened with a broken heart, unable to cry. You were all out of tears. You'd cried and cried your heart out all month, you couldn't bear the thought of it all being for such a tragic conclusion.
-
That was almost a week ago, you'd remained by Jungkook's side regardless. Never leaving, not moving.
"Y/n, Honey. You've been here all day, when's the last time you ate something, hm?" His mom gently tilted your chin upwards, you looked pale in colour and your eyes were dull with sorrow.
"I don't know, Tuesday maybe?"
It's Thursday night.
"Go." She orders, and you know that tone. She wasn't willing to negotiate this with you. She'd begun to care for you like a daughter of her own, and as much as she respected and adored your dedication to her son, it was just as important that you were healthy.
Still following Jungkook's advice, you avoided most of the shops in the cafeteria except for a select few that he deemed sanitary. Sitting at one of the tables by yourself, you poked at your food, not all that hungry but you took bites anyway.
Taking a long sip from your water bottle you ignored the buzzing from your phone. You're sure it's just the contractors giving you a hard time again. You were set to open in a few months from now and you'd never felt more grateful for your mom stepping in to help while you were.. away.
Your phone buzzes once more, you finally check the messages.
Ever since that night, every time Mrs. Jeon messaged you, it left you with a pit in your stomach, quite like the one in your stomach right now.
She was calling you back to Jungkook's room immediately.
Completely abandoning your half-eaten meal on the table as you rushed back up to the room you'd begun to know like the back of your hand.
There his parents were, teary-eyed as they sat outside his room, making calls and texting loved ones. Soon you saw a team of nurses walking out of his room with some medical technology that you're sure had very complicated names and--
Oh no.
Your brain was putting the pieces together. What was once a pit had evolved into a full-fledged sinkhole. Your hands were shaking as you walked into the room, eyes landing on his body, not expecting to meet his familiar brown orbs.
They blinked at you slowly. Just like the first time you'd visited, they smiled before his lips did. "There she is," His voice was weak, understandably but it still had that softness to it.
Your body was overwhelmed and unable to make any coherent sounds. You were standing still as a statue. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth to stop your lips from quivering but you couldn't stop it.
Your breathing became shallow and the sound of your heart drumming in your ears seemed much louder than it did a minute ago. You felt like your eyes were playing tricks on you.
"Is it-" Your voice airy and broken, not wanting this to be a dream. You so desperately needed this to be real. He nods slowly with a grin, "It's me." Just when you thought you had no more tears left, there were more spilling down your cheeks.
Finally picking up your feet and walking over to him with broken sobs, meeting him at the side of the bed. On your knees with his arms around you while you held him in yours. "I thought I lost you." You swat him with teary eyes and a small laugh.
"You can never lose me, Y/n, and I want to make sure of that." He says, and your head tilts instinctively. "What do you mean?"
"Marry me."
Eyes wide and your mouth nearly kissing the floor.
"You can't be serious," Oh how you hoped he was serious.
"You've been by my side every step of the way. When I walk through those hospital doors one last time, I want to be beside the woman I love. Let me spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you've made me." Now he was the one getting misty eyes.
Your mouth struggled to keep up with the eager nodding of your head. "Yes." Holding his face in your hands and kissing him like you'd longed to do for weeks.
Finally.
"Wait- You don't have a ring," Jungkook leans slightly for the box of band-aids on the side table. "Jungkook, I don't need-'' Your efforts go in vain as he shushes you kindly, taping the band-aid around your ring finer.
"It's symbolic for now until I can get you the real thing."
-
Nothing could have prepared you for the busy year ahead of you. Between visiting Jungkook, opening a salon and planning a wedding things were beginning to get chaotic but it all seemed to fade in importance once Jungkook finally got to go home.
And you were right, he was home just in time for Thanksgiving, and he had a lot to be thankful for. He made that clear during his speech at your parents' annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The fact he was able to stand for it was reason enough. Although he wasn't able to walk far distances, he was improving every day, and it just warmed your heart.
Your speech wasn't nearly as tear-jerking as Jungkook's was, but you still had a lot to be grateful for. Just looking around the table from where you stood, smiling at your parents, your sister with Jin and Seol-a, Jungkook's parents, and Jungkook, of course.
Everything you ever wanted was right in front of you.
Keeping your speech short and sweet, "And I know she's grateful for that huge rock on her finger." Eunji whispers loudly causing the table to erupt in a fit of giggles, the tips of your ears turn red as you smile shyly.
From Thanksgiving to the opening day of your Salon. Staring up to look at your name written out in a cursive font across the top of the building you were in awe. "Pinch me," you mutter sarcastically, not expecting Jungkook to actually pinch you.
With a pout you rubbed the pink mark he left on your arm as the two of you walked into the moderately busy salon. Your mom had sent out flyers and emails about the opening day all season.
You wouldn't have been able to do it without her.
"I'm so proud of you," Jungkook whispers and you turn to face him with the look of a puppy. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you," He shakes his head, "I didn't do anything. This was all you, all you had to do was listen to your heart." Giving him one of those upside-down smiles you wrap your arms around him, talking into his chest.
"I can't wait to marry you."
Before you knew it, the wait was over.
Today is the day.
You could only stress about one day so much, you'd gone over every last detail down to the very inch and you were sure it was going to be perfect, after all, you'd had it all planned out in your head since you were 7 and Jungkook was more than happy oblige, 'as long as I get to marry you', he would say.
Your wedding was beautiful, it left your guests breathless the moment they entered the venue and the ceremony hadn't even begun yet.
Your wedding had its own special and heartfelt twist to it. Instead of Jungkook standing ready at the altar, he had the honour of picking a heartfelt song to walk down the aisle to with no arm crutches or wheelchair to support him. Nothing but his parents on either side holding one of his arms.
Some of the audience cheered while some let their tears fall quietly, knowing how far Jungkook had come to get to this point. Once he made it to the front, his best man, Jimin, handed him his arm crutches once again.
Soon the rest of the bridal party had made their way down the aisle, prompting the audience to stand. All heads turned to the grand double doors that soon opened as a romantic instrumental of "Look After You" began to play.
Jungkook could hardly see you from the distance he was standing but just knowing that you were walking towards him had him choking up already.
By the time he really could see you, he couldn't. His eyes are cloudy with tears until Jimin hands him his pocket square to wipe his eyes. Blinking the rest of his tears away, he smiles at you.
You looked beautiful.
Like God's most perfect creation sent down from heaven. There you were, smiling back at him with those angel eyes of yours. It would be a lie to say you didn't want to cry but the last thing you wanted was to ruin your makeup.
However, you weren't so strong when it came time to listen to Jungkook's vows after just finishing yours.
"You once asked me if I believed in soulmates, and I remember saying it was a load of crap. I had no idea they were sitting right in front of me. Your unconditional and unchanging demonstration of love has completely changed me from the inside out. Through you, I breathe again, and for you, my heart beats. Today, I give you more than just my word. I give you mind, I give you my soul, my everything. I pray from this day forward we will chase the sunsets of tomorrow, hand in hand, forever."
The last part he recites from the passage of your book you'd read to him while he was still unconscious. Your makeup is now a victim to the stream of hot, salty tears that flowed from your eyes, "You heard me." You say just loud enough for only him to hear you. He smiles. "I heard you."
With no more tears and the unravelling of a touching ceremony,
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
This was it. The moment Jungkook had been anticipating for months. Unclipping himself from the crutches around his arms, he hands them to Jimin.
He stretches out his arms dramatically, pretending to crack his neck.
Carefully taking your face in his hands, knowing how important it was to you that he didn't smudge anything, but your lipstick was going to need some reapplication after the way he pivoted and swooped you down for the most passionate of kisses.
The kind where your leg raises in the air while the photographer gets the money shot, capturing the bright smiles all around.
As if it was possible, the reception was even better than the ceremony. The toasts were both funny and touching. All eyes were on the happy couple who sat at their special table on the elevated platform for all to see.
Unable to hear what was being said but they could only assume it was something heartfelt based on the way your hands had clasped over your mouth.
Jungkook had just rolled up the sleeve of his left arm, showing you a new tattoo that you'd never seen. It was a delicate dark vine that wrapped around his forearm, with blossoming flowers, encircling the words 'Garden of Destiny', just like from your book.
"Are those-" You point to the types of flowers, "Tiger Lilies and Cosmos, your birth flower? Yeah." You pout, "Please don't cry, you'll be so upset if you ruin your makeup." He gently moves a loose strand of your hair from your face with the same hand you'd just been examining, and that's when it hits you.
"It's on your left arm." He grins,
"Of course it is."

Corrupted Code 2 | Corrupted Code
Pairing: Connor RK800 x Android!Reader
Summary: They were designed to be perfect. She and Connor were CyberLife’s greatest achievements—flawless prototypes, logical, efficient, incapable of deviation. They were built to complement each other, two halves of the same machine, designed to enforce order in a world teetering on the edge of chaos. She was supposed to be perfect. But then Connor came back. And the cracks started to show.
Tumblr media
Days passed. Her approach to their cases remained ruthless. She processed information at lightning speed, dissecting crime scenes with mechanical detachment. No hesitation. No second guesses.
It was efficient. Flawless.
But it felt wrong.
Connor watched her work, watched how she disregarded victims as little more than data points. Every missing person was just a statistic. Every grieving relative, a variable in an equation.
One evening, as they sat in a dimly lit interrogation room, She tapped her fingers against the metal table, watching him with a look he couldn’t quite place.
“You’re slowing down,” she observed.
Connor glanced up from the case file. “I’m being thorough.”
“No,” she corrected, tilting her head slightly. “You’re considering them.” Her voice dropped into something almost mocking. “Are you lagging, Connor? Should I run a diagnostic?”
Connor’s jaw tightened. “I don’t think analyzing human behavior is a flaw.”
She smirked, leaning back in her chair. “That depends. Are you analyzing it, or are you starting to care?”
He hesitated.
Her smirk widened. “Thought so.”
Connor looked back down at the file, feeling something foreign coil in his chest. He wasn’t sure what it was. Frustration? Uncertainty?
Or worse—recognition.
Flashing lights. Shouting voices. The pounding rhythm of footsteps against wet pavement.
Kara and Alice ran.
Through alleyways slick with rain, past flashing neon storefronts. Their movements were frantic, desperate.
She and Connor pursued, the gap closing between hunter and prey. The city blurred past them, but the only focus was on the two figures ahead—one android, one human.
The chase led them to a fence. Beyond it, the major speed highway.
Connor skidded to a halt, grabbing the metal bars. Cars rushed past in a blur of headlights and roaring engines. A single misstep meant destruction.
Kara turned, breathless, gripping Alice's hand.
"Come on!"
They climbed.
Connor calculated the probability of survival—17.3% if they miscalculated a jump.
Too dangerous.
Too uncertain.
His fingers clenched around the fence, his LED flickering yellow.
She didn’t stop.
Without hesitation, she vaulted over the gate, landing with precision on the narrow concrete median between speeding vehicles. No delay, no recalculations.
Only execution.
She sprinted forward, weaving between the cars as if the danger didn’t exist—because to her, it didn’t.
Connor hesitated.
His hands gripped the cold metal of the gate, watching her, watching Kara and Alice.
The probability updated. Kara and Alice: 23.8%. Himself: 99.9%.
He could make it.
But he didn’t move.
A second too long.
When she reached the other side, Kara and Alice were subdued. A struggle, brief but meaningless. Beckett had ripped Kara away from the child and held her in a vice grip, LED burning red. Alice sobbed, trying to claw at her arm, but she didn’t so much as flinch.
She turned, eyes locked on Connor, still frozen behind the gate.
Her voice cut through the storm of sirens and rushing cars.
“Get down here and clean up your mess.”
The precinct was quieter now. The storm outside had settled into a slow, rhythmic drizzle against the windows.
She leaned against a desk, arms crossed, eyes locked onto Connor with an intensity that bordered on predatory.
“You hesitated.”
Connor met her gaze. “It was a high-risk scenario. The probability of survival—”
“I don’t care about your probability calculations.ïżœïżœ
Her voice was sharp, cutting.
“You stopped at the fence,” she said, pushing off the desk and stepping closer. “I went. You didn’t.”
Connor straightened. “I had to assess—”
“No, you didn’t.” She let out a short, humorless laugh. “You should have acted. But you thought about it. About them.” She tilted her head, LED flashing yellow. “Are you going to tell me it was a logical delay? That you didn’t feel something?”
Connor’s LED flickered yellow, then blue, then back to yellow. He didn’t answer.
Her smirk faded.
Disgust replaced it.
She exhaled sharply, stepping back as if he were something contaminated. “You’re deviating.”
Connor felt something sink in his chest.
“You’re pathetic.”
She turned on her heel, her LED flaring red as she left the room.
For the first time since their partnership began, Connor wasn’t sure if she saw him as a machine anymore.
And that terrified him.
The hallway was dim, the overhead lights flickering with the occasional buzz. Officers passed by, engaged in their own conversations, but she moved through them like a machine on autopilot, her LED still burning red from the earlier exchange.
Then—
“Hey.”
A gruff voice.
She stopped.
Lt. Hank Anderson leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching her with that usual mix of exhaustion and irritation. His breath smelled faintly of alcohol, but his gaze was sharp, locked onto her like he’d been waiting.
She exhaled through her nose. “What?”
Hank didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he studied her, as if trying to size her up.
Then he sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. “You ever think maybe you’re bein’ too hard on the kid?”
Her LED flickered yellow.
She scoffed. “That kid is deviating.”
“Yeah, well.” Hank scratched his beard. “Maybe that ain’t the worst thing.”
She stared at him like he had just said something incomprehensible. “You’re joking.”
Hank shrugged. “He’s tryin’, that’s all I’m sayin’. Maybe you lay off for a second.”
She let out a short, humorless laugh. “Right. Because your judgment is so valuable.” She tilted her head, voice dropping into something cold. “Tell me, Lieutenant—did you come to this grand revelation before or after your fourth drink?”
Hank’s expression darkened.
She smiled, but it wasn’t pleasant.
“Or maybe you think you and Connor have something in common,” she continued, voice laced with amusement. “Two washed-up cops. One drinks himself to an early grave. The other’s programming is eating itself alive.”
Hank exhaled, shaking his head. “Y’know, for a machine, you sure talk a lot of shit.”
Her LED pulsed red. “And for a human, you sure have a lot of opinions on things that don’t concern you.”
Hank studied her for a moment longer. Then, with a sigh, he pushed off the wall and started walking past her.
As he passed, he muttered, “Guess we’ll see how long you last.”
She didn’t react.
Didn’t turn.
Didn’t say anything.
She just stood there, LED flickering yellow for a fraction of a second before settling back on red.
Then she kept walking.

Why are car headlights wired in parallel?
Car headlights are wired in parallel circuits rather than in series for critical functional, safety, and reliability reasons. Here's a breakdown of why parallel wiring is essential:
Independent Operation
Failure resistance: In a parallel circuit, each headlight has its own direct connection to the power source (battery/alternator). If one bulb burns out or fails, the other headlight continues working.
Example: If headlights were wired in series (like old Christmas lights), a single blown bulb would disable the entire circuit.
Full Voltage Delivery
Optimal brightness: Parallel wiring ensures each headlight receives the vehicle’s full system voltage (12V or 24V).
In series, voltage splits between components, so two headlights would each receive only 6V (half the required voltage), resulting in dim or non-functional lights.
Safety & Redundancy
Regulatory compliance: Automotive safety standards (e.g., FMVSS 108 in the U.S.) mandate that vehicles maintain at least one functional headlight if the other fails.
A single working headlight is better than none for nighttime visibility.
Current Management
Lower risk of overload: Parallel circuits allow current to split between branches.
Example: Two 60W halogen bulbs draw ~5A each (60W Ă· 12V = 5A). In parallel, the total current is 10A, which the car’s wiring and fuses can safely handle.
In series, the same current would flow through both bulbs, but voltage drop would render them useless.
Simplified Diagnostics & Repairs
Isolated faults: A blown fuse or broken wire in one headlight circuit doesn’t affect the other.
Easier troubleshooting: Mechanics can test each headlight independently without disassembling the entire system.
Why Not Series Wiring? Factor Series Circuit Parallel Circuit Voltage per bulb Halved (e.g., 6V each in a 12V system) Full voltage (12V each) Failure impact Both bulbs fail if one breaks One bulb fails, the other works Brightness Dim or non-functional Maximum brightness
Real-World Analogy Series: Like a single-lane road—if one car breaks down, traffic stops entirely.
Parallel: Like a multi-lane highway—if one lane is blocked, others remain open.
Key Takeaway Parallel wiring is non-negotiable for headlights because it ensures safety, reliability, and compliance with automotive standards. Without it, nighttime driving would become exponentially riskier due to sudden total light failure.

Connor tries to make it up to Kara and Alice.
They eye him warily whenever he approaches. It makes something in the pit of his chassis feel heavy, like a wire’s caught in his internals; all of his diagnostics come up clean, though, so he pushes through the sensation and focuses on the motions — soften his gaze, shift his posture into something vaguely non-threatening, inquire about their well-being with a genuineness that puts them on edge.
(He deserves it.)
He’s seen them mingle with the other deviants at Jericho. Alice is shy, but she’s managed to come out of her shell somewhat with gentle coaxing and the promise of play. Connor’s flipped his coin for her once, when he noticed her watching; she’d stared back at him silently, half-hidden behind her mother. But her eyes followed his movements closely as he rolled the coin across his knuckles and tossed it in the air in a shining arc, a touch more theatrical than his normal calibration routine. He catches the coin between two fingers and offers it to her with what he hopes is a gentle expression (he’s never had to be gentle in his life) — she shakes her head and tucks herself bashfully against Kara’s side, but something in Connor still feels lighter in spite of it.
Kara is tougher to crack. (Connor frowns, rewinds. No, that’s not right — she’s not a suspect, and he’s not interrogating her. The syntax is ingrained in his code like cobwebs.)
She’s smiled before. He’s seen it — hesitant, as though she’s unsure if the positive stimulus causing it will last, but genuine. It’s not the typical wide, nurturing smile programmed into the AX400 series for everyday use, but Connor thinks it all the more significant for its rarity.
Kara’s smile disappears when she sees him. Her expression shutters into guarded neutrality, and her posture stiffens as though she’s gearing herself to run, though she always remains polite on the rare occasion where they converse around the massive elephant in the room.
Connor doesn’t understand why it matters. He tells himself he’s trying to make it up to her, to atone for almost killing her and Alice on that highway, and he is. That heavy sensation — guilt, he now realizes — washes over him in full force whenever she’s present, and he recognizes with some shame that there’s a selfish component in trying to earn her trust. The all-consuming urge to accomplish his mission has never quite faded, it seems.
But —
He doesn’t think that’s the only thing that’s driving him to seek her out. He’s earned the trust of the heads of Jericho, and most of the deviants in it. He’s smoothed things out with Hank and become a mildly annoying but staple presence in his house. He’s made a niche for himself at the DPD and ingratiated himself to his coworkers. Even Alice warms up to him, shyly requesting a repeat performance of his coin tricks with a matching quarter stuffed into one small palm. Logically, one deviant’s opinion shouldn’t matter amidst a sea of thousands.
All he knows is that one day, months after the birth of a new people, months after his entire life was flipped on its head and he started caring about atonement and smiles and absolution — Kara looks at him and her expression lifts.
Connor doesn’t need to breathe, but he feels breathless.

more update. just went through the longest three days of my whole life. click to read my tale of woe.
sept 10: had to go get my visa medical exam done (which ate 500 of my savings up... boohoo...) and it was such a long and evil journey into toronto to go get that done (i live in a city an hour outside) because my dad's car is being weird right now so i had to take trains there... and then when i got there they informed me that i was missing blood work (it was done, but i didn't have the actual proof of it. so i needed to ask the doctor who did my blood work to email me that.) so i almost started crying until they said i could still get the rest of the exam done that day and just email them the blood work proof later. Like legit immediately tearing up. i'm not built for these sorts of tasks i think. anyway that meant that i couldn't even ride home with a peace of mind knowing that that's done because it wasnt. i needed that blood work proof.
sept 11: i called the walk in clinic who initially did my blood work to ask if i could get it emailed to me so i could then email it to the visa medical people, and no one answered at all. ever. so i just got up and walked to the clinic. and when i entered the building there was a huge sign on the clinic's door that said they moved and the clinic no longer operates. again, started immediately tearing up because i can't handle anything. anyway i went on a wild goose chase that ended in me calling the doctor who issued the blood test personally and asking if anyone even still had my records and she said that public health did, but i needed to schedule a telehealth appointment to ask a doctor for it. my online appointment would be in the afternoon of the next day which was stressful becauuuuse
sept 12: in the morning of this day i had to go for an oral diagnostic to find out how much it was gonna cost to fix my painful rotting bulimia teeth. i didn't want to go on the train again and my dad was still eager to drive despite his car's condition so i said fuck it because my dentist appointment could be rescheduled if the car broke down on the highway, unlike my visa medical exam where i had to be there. so we went to toronto in our shitty car and i got poked and prodded by a dental student (i have to get my work done by students because it's the lowest cost dental work available to me) and he then informed me that i would need two cleanings which would cost $208 together, and then it would be $130 per tooth filled. and i have very very many cavities. so i think my stuff would be around $1500 to fix which is by all means a bargain but i started freaking the fuck out in the car on the way home because i still don't even have that. like YES it could have been $5000-$10000. but i still don't have $1500. so um. god. yeah. actually i'm still kind of freaking out about that. lol anyway
sept 12 pt 2: we got home just in time for my telehealth appointment and they gave me my blood work proof immediately and easily and i was very relieved and then i emailed it to the visa medical people like they told me to. and it's been very many daylight work hours and no one has responded to me so now i'm filled with an insane dread that there's still something wrong and missing and i can't stop freaking out and crying because i need just one thing to go smoothly just one please just one damn thing. oh ym god please. PLEASEE
sept 13: now we're at today where i am covered in exposed nerves and irritable and scared because i cannot stop thinking about how i need 1500 bucks and also an email back from the visa people who have my whole life in their hands right now. i am doing my commissions because i need to take more because i need that money. i put up a ko-fi goal for an amount a little less than $1500 because that's more of a broad estimate, but i can't be asked to spread my ko-fi link around again so close to when i already e-begged. i feel bad. there's people dying and i'm begging for help to get my tooth hurty fixed. it feels bad. but the goal is there and my commissions are open and if anyone wants to smile at me they can. if anyone has and ideas on how to spead it without me actually spreading it because i just don't have the moxie rn that would be nice too.

Personal: It Never Stops
Monday: The fire inspector came along with the nice man who did the fire upgrade part at 10:30. They were gone at 10:37. The fire inspector praised the guy who did the installation, which made me happy. He had this warm, gentle vibe and a soft spoke competence that reminded me a lot of my beloved late Uncle, though they looked nothing alike.
After I ate, I started in with the phone. new Millennial was having trouble claiming their home care aide hours (They worked them, but the whole system is super glitchy). Today is the last day to fix it. New Millennial is getting most of my hours. we are going to try to hire someone to do the heavier lifting jobs once a week, like taking out the trash with the rest of the hours. Because of the employment change over, I needed to make sure the trouble wasn't to do with that. *digits cruciform it is sorted now*
Then it was back to trying to ave Edward Lap top. I and New Millennial and @steampunktoy put in about nine hours total trying to save him Saturday and Sunday. I went back to try to trick tech support AI into letting me talk to a live human. Apparently the trick is just to say nonsense until it gives up. I got really good results reading to it from the Dracula Daily Tumblr feed which was weirdly way faster than just repeated things like live agent and advanced technical support and I refuse to do that. This took a few tries to get it right. I wasted one by foolishly cooperating and that just kicked it into sales mode. I got through and the phone cut out on our end during transfer to advanced technical support. Whee!
I fucking hate GenAI I do not like this outwit the sphinx aspect of everything nowadays. Oooo! I wonder if the tumblr trick works on Social Security chat bots! Let's hop I don't have to find out this year.
The third tech support guy walked me through some things, but odds are it's the same hardware problem from when Lenovo decided to enshitify. They wanted me to mil it back, which I don't know how to do and don't have the box for and the diagnostic is over a hundred and fuck that. I got him to suggest I take it to Best Buy.
So I guess I'm doing that in a car that now smokes if I take on the highway for repairs of an unknown amount.
It is still better than buying a new computer, I suspect.
Fuck! I got this new in January.
We can't afford this monetarily. I can't afford all these spoons. I got six hours of sleep today and four yesterday and I feel like I'm getting beaten with baseball bats in my "sleep" every night. I've started dreaming of scorpions which I just realized are likely symbolic reinterpretation of the damned sprinklers that are the reason they are doing this terrible thing to me and the cats. Like, every time I see the scorpion in my dream, I think: that is a weird pattern for a scorpion's collaboration, yet strangely familiar. It's the sprinkler head abstracted. It's kind of beautiful.
Tavy clings and claws and bites. Livia panics if she can't instantly see me. The tiny meeps of terror break my heart. I am literally just on the other side of the debris, but if that's not where she suspected, she makes those lost kitten sounds.
On the upside, the aggregate scaffold transferred fine. It usually does even without the fail safe of it being open somewhere else to check against, but now and then I end up with an empty page, so I held off opening it until I had no choice. I have no choice.
As I said in the Sunday entry, starting from scratch on news links on a different computer is a pain in the ass, and I'm a browser down, so I'm focusing on essential action item type things and the like right now.
I am so sorry. We have hit my too many things broken limit.
UPDATE 3:44PM
Squirrel was able to take over Contractor watch so I went out into extreme heat and traffic to go to an in person repair.
It turned out to be a stupid easy fix. One they could have very easily talked me through at the official Lenovo technical support. One that only someone who knew about all the stupid ways enshittified Lenovos Black screen without warning would have known. Like someone at Lenovo tech support, one would think, but they were so fixated on making me reset or mail it back for hundreds of dollars of repair.
One none of us could have guessed, not even someone clever as Newest Millennial or @steampunktoy.
Apparently enshittified Lenovos like to change their settings on their own to things no one would want so why is black screen even a setting, I must ask? Why? Why program a computer to black screen itself? WTF, Lenovo!
The car made it home. Let us hope it starts again.
I dropped off the half dead TV in the place that used to take them, but apparently just stopped. (It was on the way back from TV repair and needed doing. The lady took pity on my barely mobile and tempting heat stroke self with a car more than a decade older than her assistant, I'd guess, and took the TV anyway. "Just this once." I promised never again.
Let us hope the other ancient second hand tv lives a good long life as we can't throw them out either.
Everyone was so terrible kind.

allison cameron×robert chase ☆ zombie apocalypse ☆ 1008 words ☆ ao3
@augustwritingchallenge day 4: zombie apocalypse @aug-kissed week 1: blow a kiss
Doctor Allison Cameron squints at the whiteboard in House's office. Extending ecchymosis, low grade fever, rash. It doesn't entirely seem like a case but House is, if to be believed, consulting with the federal government; which makes it a case. Of course, he's not around to explain why the patient is at PPTH instead of some blacksite if that's the truth. She exits the room, it's not her job to know why anymore.
The ER pulls her from her job trajectory considerations easily, there seems to have been a highway wreck involving at least six vehicles and she spends the morning up to her elbows on life altering injuries and advanced life support. She doesn't think about the diagnostics team again until she chats with Foreman in the lift to the cafeteria and learns the patient went after a phlebotomist with teeth and nails, making House wonder whether they should add aggressiveness to the list or the patient is just a bit of a prick.
She thinks about it, vaguely, during her lunch with Chase but ultimately doesn't bring it up until they're walking back to their respective stations. Good choice too, going by his general disinterest in the matter.
‘It's irregular, is all, to have the patient here, don't you think?
There's resignation mixed with admiration in the look her boyfriend gives her, and a hint of selfdeprecation in his smile. ‘How is a government consult meant to compel me more than a gun to his head, again?’
Cameron shrugs, stops to kiss him quickly. ‘It just seemed interesting. I’ll see you later.’
As she walks away, she turns in time to see him blowing her a kiss. Yes, her life's changed ever since resigning from the diagnostics department and it hasn't always been easy, but she's excited to let someone in again. Doesn't mean everything's got to change, she thinks, back in House’s office, this time with most of the team assembled. There's more symptoms now, hyperpyrexia, necrosis, erythrocytosis, battle sign. Transmissible = BITES is underlined several times. They've quarantined the floor the patient is being held in, and have anyone who's been in direct contact with him in isolation.
‘Polycythemia vera,’ she suggests, more to get the ball rolling than as a real answer, being that she hasn't seen the patient at all.
‘No hypertension,’ Kutner objects. ‘It's dropping steadily, actually.’
‘How's his spleen?’
‘We're waiting on the test, but palpation suggested no abnormalities.’
‘How about a different neoplasm. Essential thrombocythaemia?’ Thirteen checks the file. ‘Plateletes were high too.’
‘It could fit, but there's no cyanosis
’
She trails off when House looks ready to rule on it, but the door opens before he can, to reveal a harassed looking Chase, still on OR scrubs holding his pager up. ‘You can't page me, House, you're not my boss.’
Instead of answering, House raises a brow as he feels for something on his desk. On cue, Chase's pager goes off. Cameron exchanges a look with Foreman, who looks ready to go back to the differential. Following their cue, Chase looks at the board, almost involuntarily, frowns at what's written there. ‘If you have to page me, can it be for something other than Resident Evil roleplay?’
‘That's your diagnosis?’ House sounds exasperated. ‘Our patient is a zombie?’
‘It's how it always starts, the outbreak. Fever, necrosis, head trauma
 Biting.’
‘Thank you, for illustrating exactly why I fired you.’
Chase gives Cameron a look that questions her willingness to listen to this before setting his pager down on House's desk and making for the door. Later, she mouths, and he gives a short nod before exiting. He's back before anyone can comment, wide eyed oh shit expression replacing his previous eyeroll in progress. ‘Tell me Taub is in on the joke?’
‘He went in for an NCV, I told you there's no jo-'
House's words get drowned by gunfire. Cameron moves to where Chase stands, pulling him out of the most direct line from the door to House, guessing whatever this is it's probably House-related. Again. The uniformed men that barge in after a blood splattered Taub don't shoot at anyone, though. The leader pulls down his mask.
‘Doctor House?’ It's not really a question, as he continues speaking directly at him without giving him the chance to direct his attention anywhere else. ‘Your assistance is required on site now, until the situation is handled. This your team?’
House nods, eyes burning holes through Chase’s head like he's jinxed him somehow. The man, who still hasn't introduced himself, talks into his comm to coordinate an extraction as his men exit. Cameron takes the chance to peek out the door, to see twitching, bloodied bodies strewn across the floor. She steps back, horrified, to take Chase's hand. The words zombie outbreak play on her head in his voice.
‘So,’ House leans forward on his cane, holding Chase’s pager up looking entirely too satisfied for someone who just dismissed what seems to be the working theory. ‘In the team, or out?'
Chase squeezes her hand, gives House an unimpressed look and snatches it back. ‘Unless you know someone else with over sixty hours in Deadly Silence, in.’
‘I have 100% completion in Deadly Silence’ Cameron lets her calf slide against Chase's in the chopper after an incredibly short briefing by phone, her words made private by the noise around them.
‘Your government is actually bioengineering zombies and your move is proving my expendability?’ He holds his chest in an exaggerated fashion, pressing their knees together.
‘Competition breeds progress.’ Her tone is too affectionate for her words to have any meaning.
Chase leans in, like he's going to kiss her but thinks better of it, considering their surroundings and the ongoing ‘situation’ that spans half the continental states if the information hasn't changed since they took off. Instead, he settles for an air-kiss. Not her, not now. She pulls him by his improbable tie, locking their lips for what might be the last time if the zombies are really at the gates.

On pathologization and institutional violence
Elis L. Herman (2015) reviews the “tranarchist literature,” studies that associate transgenderity with anarchy. Herman disagrees with an inherent relationship between being trans and being anarchist, arguing that such an assimilation would require an exact definition of transsexuality — something undesirable, given the plurality of trans existences. However, the author recognizes the transgression and subversion in gender dissidence, as well as its historical resistance to State violence. According to Herman (Idem, p. 78), “gender non-conforming people have a rich history of resisting state oppression”. Pointing out cisgenderity and its norms inside and outside academia reaches the heart of libertarian opposition to intellectual oppression. In light of this, we conceive so-called tranarchism as an extension of these libertarian strands, as a recognition of trans movements that confront institutional violence. In our analysis, our focus centers on institutionalized sites of knowledge production. In order to understand tranarchism from this point of view, it is necessary to understand our object of critique — cisnormativity in academia.
European and North American biomedicine/psychiatry in the mid-20th century was characterized by the emergence of the terms ‘transsexualism’, ‘transvestism’ and ‘transsexuality’. Since the 1960s, the ‘transsexual phenomenon’ has been named in reference to diagnoses of transsexuality. The impact of these elaborations on the lives of trans people is clear: at the same time as making it possible to institutionalize medical care for hormone therapy and surgical procedures — considered, even today, to be ‘transsexualizing’ — an ‘ideal model’ of ‘trans individual’ is established. In general terms, “trans individuals had their narratives reduced to the ‘transsexual condition’; their anguish, psychic suffering and other conflicts were attributed to transsexuality” (Pfeil, 2023, p. 4).
As one stage in this process, the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association was founded during the second half of the 20th century. In the 1980s, the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), now in its eleventh version, and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), now in its fifth version, included transsexuality among their lists of pathologies and disorders. And in 2008, Brazil’s public healthcare system instituted the Transsexualization Process, based on the diagnostic criteria set out in the ICD, signed by the World Health Organization, and the DSM, signed by the American Psychiatric Association.
If, on the one hand, transsexuality was conceptualized as a pathology within academia, under the legitimacy of cisgender doctors, sexologists and psychoanalysts, cisgenderity, on the other hand, was conceptualized in the late 1990s, within autonomous trans movements, without institutional legitimacy, on the outside of mainstream academia. At no point in the history of the ICD and DSM is it possible to find definitions of heterosexuality and cisgenderity — not even before 1990, when homosexuality was still included in the ICD. The norm does not name itself, but names the ‘other’, in contrast to which the ‘self’ is constituted. The expression of the cisgender and heterosexual norm — or, in short, cisheteronormativity — is identified by Bento (2006) in the protocols that regulate trans ambulatories both in Brazil and abroad.
Elis L. Herman observes how this normativity operates in highly guarded spaces, such as airports and border highways; these are spaces in which trans bodies are constantly subjected to scrutiny, having to validate their gender identities, or camouflage themselves, ‘disappear’ into the crowd, so as not to be barred for possessing an ID that doesn’t match the ‘truth’ of their sex/gender. These are material demonstrations of a norm that, while subjective, is expressed quite objectively and violently in the name of the security of the national State, the protection of the traditional family, or the reaffirmation of a scientific knowledge that is considered to be neutral.
By questioning the norm and affirming that the “Self” is nothing more than an “other”; by pointing out the bias of scientific knowledge; by identifying the socially constructed and normative character of cisgenderity and heterosexuality, one often encounters reactions of rejection and denial. Pfeil & Pfeil (2022) describe this phenomenon as the offense of naming, as when a trans individual names cisgenderity, thereby denaturalizing it, it is common for cisgenderity to be offended at being removed from its perceived position of normality. The naturalization of the cisgender and heterosexual body, as well as the white and non-disabled body (MELLO AND NUERNBERG, 2013), is institutionally supported, so that any attempt at denaturalization is seen as a threat to scientific authority. The academic assumption of impartiality in the production of knowledge comes up against trans narratives that reveal the cisnormative, patriarchal and culturally imbricated bias in the diagnosis of ‘transsexualism’ — or, as it currently appears in the ICD-11, ‘gender incongruence’. Considering such institutional domination over the notion of transsexuality and its material implications, it seems appropriate to carry out an anarchist critique of intellectual oppression, since it is due to this oppression that trans individuals have never been considered researchers in academia, but rather objects of psychiatric and psychoanalytic elaborations on transsexuality.

I really want everyone to be playable in wario party (mario party but fast) but i also want everyone to have a wario party board. I want to have it all
Everything past this point is diagnostic info for my doctor↓
Orbulon: a space world obviously but you can get ate by the giant planet in warioware twisted and lose your coins or maybe a star if you suck bad enough. This one would be fucked up compared to the other boards in some way, maybe upside down, maybe in 5/4 time. I dont know. Shops are run by alien bunnies.
Mona: pizza world. Sorry girl but i am typecasting you as pizza. At first i thoguht it should be like koopas tycoon town where the more pizzas you sell the more star you get, or something, but no. You walk on a giant pizza. The spaces are pepperonis. Its what she would have wanted
Jimmy T- Club sugar everything is DANCING THEMED and if you land on a special space then you have to do a dance off where you move the switch/wiimote/whatever like its just dance in the correct formation or else you lose everything. Dance fucker dance like you never had a chance.
9-volt: Awww fuck. Th
INTERMISSION: i cant stop saying Aw fuck i got the meat sweats in the fucked up meatwad voice vinny uses in his warioware dubs. Sorry if this affects my communication in any way.
e obvious answer would be making it inside a giant gameboy, or Gamecube, remember the mario kart battle track/nintendogs house that was just a giant DS? This. But its also like, you're shrunk real tiny and inside someones house, on their giant gamecube. Theres nintendo references everywhere natch and all of the sound effects are changed to become chiptunes. You can get punched out by Punch-Out from Punch-Out.
Ashley: Its a haunted house. Whaddaya want.
Dr. Crygor: so the obvious thing to do here is to make it be themed around his laboratory but SIKE, pennys got the lab, instead Dr Crygor is leaning into the "tropical deserted island" theme that surrounds his laboratory and you get to be eaten by a giant plant! Yaaay
I kinda wanna have this be like a survivor style total drama thing where you can get voted off the island somehow
Kat and ana: This one would be really somber and depressing for no reason.
Dribblenspitz: They should get a dusty route 66 desert highway filled with drag racers and whatnot, like whatever they are doing in warioware diy wii version. Orbulon took the space theme but it would be mean to just plop them in diamond city so its only fair.
wario: It would be a treasure land, packed with music boxes and golden pyramids and such so that the wario land people dont get on my case. Instead of stars your goal is to get as many coins as possible and there are so many ways to steal coins from people that it is impossible to keep the lead for more than 2 seconds.
Kat and ana: I changed my mind i want to explain this one for real now anyways it would be a ninja land obviously and there would be like, ninjas appearing and disappearing in places.....like you could teleport across the board and the game would be like oh its a ninja thing. You know? Lots of trickery afoot.
Waluigi: Secret level. The boss level actually. Hes pissed off that you didnt invite him to the wario party. You have to shoot him in the nose

How I would reboot MegaMan (Classic), MegaMan Zero, and MegaMan X pt. 3. Mega Man X Reboot 1-6
Now it's time to show my reboot of MegaMan X. Like MegaMan Zero MegaMan X is set it in an alternate timeline from the Classic MegaMan, with the characters Zero, Ciel, Cereavu, and Dr. Timothy Cain with Ashoka Kanme, Seth Kenka, Joseph Park, Saria Ame, Alia, Signs, Lifesaver, Douglas, Steel Massimo, Spider, Marino, Cinnamon, Chief R, Nana, Professor Gaudile, Aile, Layer, Pallete, Axl, and our favorite true blue hero, MegaMan X
The Plot of MegaMan X
Before the Event of MegaMan Zero, MegaMan Zero 2, MegaMan Zero 3 and MegaMan Zero 4,  Sometime in the Year 20XX, Dr. Thomas Xavier Light completes work on [MegaMan] X and seals him away for 30 years of diagnostic testing, believing that the world will not yet accept a robot with free will. Dr. Wily seals away his final creations - [MegaMan] Zero and the Maverick Sigma Virus - without completing them to his final specifications. Dr. Light and Dr. Wily both pass away, but their wills persist in their creations. The soul of Light dwells in hidden Light Capsules and Cyber-SoulSpace, while Wily somehow lives on in the Maverick Sigma Virus.
Before MegaMan Zero [1-4], Dr. Cain embarks on an expedition to research a fossil record of Mesozoic plant life. Dr. Cain sets up camp and draws the preliminary groundwork for his dig. He notices an odd reading at location "E-46", deciding to investigate the following day. Dr. Cain uncovers ruins of a laboratory used by Dr. Light. Inside, he discovers documents referring to a capsule. Dr. Cain locates the capsule. He notes in his journal the specifications (14 meters tall by 8 meters wide and that it was under a collapsed ceiling. Cain clears dust from part of capsule to find a large letter "X", and activates the message left by Dr. Light. He notes the the indicators on the capsule are all green, and that he plans to open it the next day. Dr. Cain successfully opens the capsule and activates X. Dr. Cain examines the design notes and specifications for X left by Dr. Light, learning that X is a leap above anything in robotics the world has ever seen. Dr. Cain cancels his expedition to transport X and Dr. Light's materials to his lab. With minor modifications to Dr. Light's original designs, Dr. Cain works with X to create the first Reploid Sigma. Dr. Cain reports that the Reploids have been in mass production for several weeks, and that the general populace is excited to accept the new generation of robots. By this date, there have been two instances of irregular Reploid behavior. The term Maverick has been coined and applied to Reploids who disobey orders, commit acts of terrorism as well as injure and kill humans or innocent reploids. On this day, a third Maverick instance occurs, where three Reploids injured two humans. Dr. Cain reports that the council is debating halting the assembly of Reploids, but he doubts it will occur. [the events of Mega Man 1-4]. After the ending of MegaMan Zero 4, when Zero leaves to find Sigma, X joins the Maverick Hunters to fight for peace, being assigned as a B-Class Hunter.
MegaMan X: Sigma begins to resume his plan for human genocide after the events of Zero 4 and has been approaching his strongest Maverick Hunters to recruit them into an anti-human Reploid rebellion. Sigma revolts against the humans, taking many Maverick Hunters with him. Zero arrives in Los Angeles to see that the entire city is in ruins, X begins fighting Sigma's army on the Los Angeles highway, but he is ambushed by Vile piloting a Ride Armor. Zero comes to his rescue, forcing Vile to retreat. Zero assures X that he has the potential to become stronger, and orders him to continue fighting Sigma's forces while he locates Sigma's Hideout.
X faces Sigma's lieutenants, growing stronger by destroying all eight of the former Maverick Hunters. Zero then informs X that he has located Sigma's airborne hideout, and the two rendezvous to infiltrate it. The two are stopped by Vile, and Zero chooses to face him alone but is caught in a trap. X tries to rescue Zero, but Vile uses a Ride Armor to beat and paralyze him too. As a last resort, Zero self-destructs on Vile's Ride Armor, inspiring X to break free from his paralysis and finish off Vile. In his last moments, Zero encourages X to defeat Sigma. X confronts Sigma in his tower, defeating his guard dog Velguarder. Sigma then faces him one-on-one. As X deals the final blow, Sigma laments X's decision to side with humanity as the fortress explodes. X retreats to a cliff overlooking the ocean, watching the explosion, and wonders if the fighting is truly over. Indeed, a message left by Sigma boasts that X has only won a temporary victory, and that his "spirit and virus" live on.
MegaMan X2: Six months have passed since Sigma's uprising. X is promoted to S-Class Sergeant for saving humanity and defeating Sigma. X now leads the Maverick Hunters' 17th Unit to root out remnants of the rebellion. However, Maverick activity is on the rise once more, and Mavericks are found containing a chip bearing Sigma's mark. Dr. Cain traces the chips to a factory under Maverick control, and X leads a battalion to destroy it. With the factory out of commission, a new uprising suddenly breaks out, led by eight SA-Class Mavericks. As X fights them, he learns of the X-Hunters - Serges, Agile, and Violen - who lead this rebellion. They also hold three rebuilt parts of Zero, but require his control chip (held by Dr. Cain) to reactivate him. X duels each of the X-Hunters over Zero's parts. Once X defeats the eight Mavericks, he infiltrates the X-Hunters' Arctic base and destroys all three of them. However, Sigma returns and challenges X to face him at the Central Computer, which is spreading a Maverick Virus across the internet. There, X is met by Sigma with a copy of Zero, only for the real Zero to appear, reconstructed by Dr. Cain, and destroy it. Zero tells X to finish Sigma while he destroys the Central Computer. X destroys Sigma, only to discover that he has become one with the virus itself as the Sigma Virus. X then defeats the Sigma Virus, who disappears as the Central Computer explodes. X and Zero reunite outside, but X wonders what must be done to achieve true peace.
Mega Man Xtreme: Three weeks have passed since the X-Hunter Incident, X learns that the Maverick Hunters' Mother Computer has been hacked, and works with Middy to digitize into cyberspace to find the culprit. He defeats the Shadow Hunters, Zain and Geemel, before confronting the hacker himself, Techno. Upon killing Techno, X is distraught to learn that Middy died too, being his twin brother. He then learns that Sigma manipulated Techno into hacking the Mother Computer, and destroys him in revenge. X and Zero defeat Sigma and stop him from using the Mother Computer.
MegaMan X3: Several months after the Mother Computer incident, Dr. Doppler creates a cure to the Sigma Virus. His invention attracts advanced Reploids from far and wide, who construct a utopia called Dopple Town in his honor. However, Dopple Town suddenly falls into Maverick chaos, revealing Doppler is their leader. X and Zero are deployed to quell the riots, but Doppler's army attacks Hunter Base in their absence, forcing them to retreat. X is almost kidnapped by the traitor Mac, but Zero rescues him and terminates Mac. X and Zero return to Dopple Town and fight the Doppler Army's strongest Mavericks. They encounter Doppler's right-hand-men, Bit and Byte, who ambush X to capture him dead or alive. X also fights a resurrected Vile MK-II, who is seeking revenge. Once all eight Mavericks are defeated, Dr. Cain uses their memory chips to pinpoint Doppler's lab, and learns that Doppler is constructing a giant battle body. X faces Dr. Doppler, who reveals his loyalty to Sigma and plan to use X's body. X brings Doppler back to his senses from the Sigma Virus, so he tells X where Sigma is. X fights Sigma's giant battle body, while Zero sabotages the laboratory. However, the Sigma Virus threatens to take X's body. Fortunately, Doppler arrives with a real Sigma Virus vaccine, and self-destructs to neutralize the virus. X escapes the laboratory to reunite with Zero. Upon their return to Abel City, X and Zero are greeted and congratulated by now promoted General William Kaname along with Dr. Cain, Cereavu, Ahsoka, Ciel, Joseph, Sara and Seth.
MegaMan Xtreme 2: Two months have passed the incident at Dopple Town, A mysterious phenomenon dubbed Erasure occurs, leaving Reploids empty husks. When a mass event occurs at Laguz Island, X and Zero are sent to investigate with the rookie Iris. They meet Gareth, who refuses to acknowledge them until they prove their strength against the "guardians" of the island. These turn out to be resurrected Mavericks, revealing that Gareth and his partner, Berkana, are responsible for the Erasure and have been stealing Reploids' souls to grow stronger. X defeats Berkana while Zero defeats Gareth, restoring the souls of every Reploid suffering Erasure. Then Sigma reveals himself as the one who led Berkana to this experiment, so they defeat him too.
MegaMan X4: One year has passed since the Erasure Incident, Dr. Cain signs an order to form the Reploid military organization Repliforce. They are intended to assist the Maverick Hunters, but have recently proven reckless and unreliable in practice. Repliforce soldiers are spotted in a Maverick attack on the flying city Sky Lagoon. X/Zero rushes to aid, but Magma Dragoon reveals that the city is falling and they have no choice but to retreat. They return to the crash site, where Zero rescues Iris. X/Zero requests for Colonel, a high-ranking officer in Repliforce, to disarm for questioning, but he arrogantly refuses. All of Repliforce is branded Maverick. Their leader, General, announces a coup d'état to move Repliforce into space aboard the Final Weapon. This starts the Great Repliforce War. X and Zero move to stop them, aided by the rookie Double and the troubled Iris, respectively. After fighting eight Repliforce Mavericks including the traitorous Magma Dragoon, they try to stop Repliforce's launch. However, Colonel buys enough time for his comrades to escape to space, before dying. Inside the Final Weapon, X is forced to fight and kill Double, who is secretly a Maverick agent planted in the Maverick Hunters. Zero is forced to fight and kill Iris, who is driven mad by Colonel's death. The Hunters then face General, but even after beating him, the Final Weapon prepares an attack on Earth. This is revealed to be the work of Sigma, who manipulated Repliforce and the Maverick Hunters from the beginning. They defeat Sigma, and General sacrifices himself to destroy the Final Weapon. On the way back to Earth, X makes Zero promise to stop him if he ever goes Maverick. Zero reflects on his failure to protect Iris and Colonel, and wonders if his destiny only holds destruction.
MegaMan X Innocent Impulse: Three weeks have passed after the Repliforce Incident, The events deal with the aftermath of the Great Repliforce War, where several Repliforce members were unfairly judged as Mavericks due to Sigma's actions sabotaging both sides to fight each other. The public has grown to distrust the Human Government and the Hunters organization, who believe the Repliforce was labeled Maverick for political reasons, not being aware of Sigma's involvement in the incident due to the information being considered classified. During these chaotic times where riots against Human and Reploid institutions are on the rise, a new unknown threat emerges in a southern region that causes Reploids to act erratically and violently. X and Zero are dispatched to investigate, unaware that what they'll find will be but the prologue of a global scale catastrophe. Giro Express, a human cyborg, is sent to assist the Maverick Hunters, but they are attacked by Mavericks. X and Zero are separated from Girouette, ending up near the rendezvous point where Prairie and the Maverick Hunter Unit 22 are also under attack. To save them, X and Zero assist Maverick Hunter Unit 22.  After defeating the Mavericks, X and Zero meet up their leader Giro and explains the violent terrorist attacks are caused by Maverick terrorist organization called Arcadia. Shortly after, a city comes under attack by Mavericks, so X, Zero and Giro rush to the scene. However, Giro is overpowered by Serpent, the leader of the Maverick Terrorist Organization Arcadia. Serpent brainwashes Giro using a mind control neck brace on him forcing him to fight X and Zero. Afterwards, Serpent kills Giro and departs to let the Mavericks clean up. Without hesitation, X and Zero escape the ambush. X and Zero returns to the Maverick Hunter Southern HQ and plans to stop the eight mavericks affiliated with Arcadia and  Serpent's forces. They hunt the Mavericks working for Arcadia. After defeating four Mavericks, Serpent sends Vile to assault the Maverick Hunter Southern Base, but X and Zero defeat him. Once all eight Mavericks are defeated, X and Zero locate the Arcadia fortress. X and Zero infiltrate Arcadia to stop him, but they are ambushed by Vile and they defeat Vile once again. Serpant merges with a high advanced mechaniloid he created begins his showdown with X and Zero. After defeating Serpent, Serpent dies at the hands of Sigma who was the mastermind behind Arcadia and begins the his final showdown with X and Zero. Sigma is destroyed again, but X and Zero know he will return to face them again.
MegaMan X5: Two months since the Arcadia Incident,
The Maverick Hunters experience an employee turnover from the Great Repliforce War, such as the new commander Signas and navigator Alia. The world undergoes repairs for damage caused in the war, including the space colony Eurasia. Somehow, Sigma meets Dr. Wily through the Sigma Virus, learning that Zero's original evil nature can be awoken with a powerful virus. Sigma hires Dynamo to plant the Colony Virus in Eurasia. He then attacks a city, goading X and Zero into a fight that ends in Sigma exploding into the Sigma Virus. The virus spreads across the entire globe, causing worldwide chaos. Then, Dynamo sets Eurasia on a collision course with the Earth: these combined disasters are dubbed the Earth Crisis. The Maverick Hunters devise two plans to stop Eurasia's fall: the Enigma cannon and Space Shuttle, which both requires parts. X and Zero travel around the globe to retrieve the parts, facing eight virus-infected Mavericks along the way. The Maverick Hunters destroy Eurasia, but the planet is still damaged by debris. The Colony Virus mixes with the Sigma Virus, fusing into the super-powerful Zero Virus and a cyberspace void called Zero Space. X and Zero enter Zero Space and are brought to blows with each other, but they come to a draw and focus on defeating Sigma instead. Upon his defeat, Sigma self-destructs to rip Zero in half. X lifts Zero, only to be struck by a laser from Sigma - Zero fires a final shot to destroy Sigma, before dying. Though X is wounded, Dr. Light's soul spirit repairs him so he can return to the Maverick Hunters. In memory of Zero's sacrifice, X carries the Z-Saber with him into battle.
MegaMan X6: Three years after the Earth Crisis, Gate explores the Eurasia crash site and finds a fragment of Zero's body. His analysis of the viral technology drives him mad, fueling his dream of a world of only advanced Reploids. He works with the scientist Isoc to create a reality-warping virus called the Nightmare, the invincible High Max, and a crazed replica of Zero called Zero Nightmare. X hunts Mavericks at the Eurasia crash site, where he runs into the Zero Nightmare. High Max then appears, alleging that Zero is behind the Nightmare. Isoc announces the threat of the Nightmare to the entire world, blaming it on the Zero Nightmare, and asks for volunteers to risk their lives helping High Max stop the phenomenon. X is enraged at this disrespect for Zero, and the Maverick Hunters begin their own investigation. X explores the areas afflicted by the Nightmare, meeting eight Nightmare Investigators who attack on sight. He also defeats the Zero Nightmare, allowing the true Zero to reveal he has been miraculously repaired and will help X clear his name. With all the Nightmare Investigators defeated, Gate reveals himself as the man behind Isoc, High Max, and the Zero Nightmare, and invites them to try storming his laboratory. Alia recognizes him as an old colleague. As X and Zero infiltrate Gate's lab, he reveals the origin of the Nightmare and challenges them to battle, but is defeated. Gate then unleashes his trump card - an incompletely resurrected Sigma - who kills him. X and Zero pursue Sigma and end him once again, exiting the laboratory with Gate's body for Alia. The Maverick Hunters agree to rebuild the Earth better than ever before.
That's it for Part 1 of the MegaMan X Reboot, Part 4 will Include X7-X9

Who owns the data created by cars: their owners, or the companies that built them?
In 2020, Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly approved a law that began to answer that question. It required automakers selling cars in the state to build an “open data platform” that would allow owners and independent repair shops to access the information they need to diagnose and repair cars. Automakers countered, arguing that such a platform would make their systems vulnerable to cyberattacks and risk driver safety. The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, a trade association and lobbying group that represents most global carmakers, sued the state.
Now, after some waffling, the Biden administration has backed Massachusetts voters. In a letter sent yesterday, a lawyer for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the American car safety regulator, told the Massachusetts attorney general’s office that the feds would allow the state to go ahead and enforce its law. “NHTSA strongly supports the right to repair,” wrote Kerry Kolodziej, the government lawyer.
This is a change of course. The administration had staked out the right to repair—the idea that the owner of a product, not the company that sold it to them, gets to decide how to fix it—as a signature issue, involving the Federal Trade Commission in the effort to push back against manufacturers who put limits on independent repairs. But in June, NHTSA’s Kolodziej wrote to warn automakers not to comply with Massachusetts’ law, frustrating right-to-repair advocates. She said that the “open data platform” demanded by the law could make Massachusetts-sold cars susceptible to hackers, who might use the platform to access vital steering, acceleration, or electronics systems.
Yesterday’s letter indicates that lawyers for the federal government and Massachusetts have agreed that there are ways to give more people access to crucial vehicle repair information safely. Car manufacturers could comply with the law “by using short-range wireless protocols, such as via Bluetooth,” to give owners or independent shops authorized by owners access to the information they need to diagnose issues with and repair vehicles, the letter says.
Nathan Proctor, the head of the right-to-repair campaign at the advocacy organization US Public Interest Research Group, wrote in a statement that the government’s reversal on the Massachusetts law creates an opportunity for new discussion of national right-to-repair issues. “It’s time to have a frank conversation about the future of internet-connected cars to ensure it’s one which respects privacy, safety and the Right to Repair,” he wrote. “NHTSA’s latest letter could be the start of that conversation.”
It remains unclear how the feds’ newest move will affect car buyers in Massachusetts. The automakers’ lawsuit stemming from the right-to-repair law is still ongoing. The state attorney general, Andrea Joy Campbell, said she would finally begin enforcing the law earlier this summer. In the letter sent by NHTSA, the agency acknowledged that the open data platform required by the law still does not exist, and indicated that federal and state lawmakers had agreed to allow vehicle manufacturers “a reasonable period of time to securely develop, test, and implement this technology.” The Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General did not respond to WIRED’s questions.
Meanwhile, at least two automakers, Kia and Subaru, have cut off telematics access for new car buyers in Massachusetts. They argue it’s a necessary step to stay in compliance with the law because the open data platform demanded in it doesn't yet exist. In practical terms, that means new car buyers there can’t access the newest in-vehicle tech, such as Subaru’s Starlink service, which includes emergency roadside assistance and automatic collision notification, and Kia Connect, which includes stolen vehicle recovery and remote unlocking and climate control. The new NHTSA letter warned automakers against this compliance strategy. “Disabling vehicle telematic functions as an attempt to comply with the [law] would harm vehicle owners, first responders, and other telematics users,” Kolodziej, the agency’s lawyer, wrote.
Still, Kia and Subaru telematics systems are unavailable in cars with the model year 2022 and newer in the state. “We look forward to a resolution that allows us to get back to providing the products and services our Massachusetts customers love,” says Dominick Infante, Subaru’s director of corporate communications.
Kia referred WIRED to the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, the lobbying group that filed the Massachusetts lawsuit. The Alliance declined to comment on the letter, citing its ongoing litigation with the state.
The right-to-repair issue is unlikely to go away, regardless of the lawsuit’s outcome. Most new cars are connected to the internet; some constantly send information back to carmakers. When auto software goes awry, it sometimes can be fixed by remote over-the-air updates. Independent repair shops, which still dominate the car industry, worry that automakers will use these increasingly sophisticated online features to lock them out of important diagnostic and repair information, or to raise prices on that information to levels that are unsustainable for small, local businesses.

Why Refrigerated Transport Services Are Vital for Cold Chain Success
Introduction
In the intricate world of global logistics, where speed, safety, and temperature precision converge, refrigerated transport services emerge as an indispensable pillar supporting the cold chain ecosystem. As markets demand fresher produce, temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, and perishable consumables with ever-shorter delivery timelines, the importance of temperature-controlled transport is no longer a niche requirement — it is the lifeblood of modern commerce.
The Anatomy of the Cold Chain
The cold chain, a temperature-regulated supply chain, spans from the origin point of goods — such as farms, pharmaceutical labs, or seafood docks — to the final destination, often retail outlets, hospitals, or consumer households. Any rupture in this continuous line of temperature control compromises the integrity of the cargo. That’s where refrigerated transport services like those offered by Z5 Logistics become critical.
These services ensure that perishable goods retain their efficacy, freshness, and safety throughout the transportation journey. Refrigerated vehicles — meticulously calibrated and monitored — function as mobile cold rooms, navigating urban congestion and cross-country highways with equal precision.
The Science Behind Refrigerated Transport
Refrigerated transport is not merely about cooling the cargo space. It’s a science involving thermodynamic control, air circulation strategies, insulation engineering, and adaptive routing. Top-tier refrigerated transport companies invest in cutting-edge systems that utilize data-driven diagnostics to maintain optimal temperature settings. Sensors track not just temperature but also humidity, shock impact, and real-time GPS location.
These innovations are crucial in ensuring that cold chain cargo, such as vaccines or artisanal cheeses, does not spoil due to unanticipated delays or environmental exposure.
Refrigerated Transport UK: A Market on the Move
Within the logistics landscape, refrigerated transport UK stands as a rapidly evolving industry. Fuelled by heightened consumer demand for gourmet foods, exotic imports, and precision-grade pharmaceuticals, the sector is expanding beyond traditional B2B freight to include dynamic last-mile solutions.
Companies like Z5 Logistics are at the forefront of this evolution. With a fleet optimized for both long-haul refrigerated freight and urban micro-deliveries, they blend macro-efficiency with granular precision. This capability becomes invaluable in regions with fluctuating temperatures, unpredictable traffic, and dense cityscapes — particularly in urban sprawls like London.
Chilled Delivery: Where Precision Meets Urgency
Chilled delivery demands a finer degree of temperature management than generic refrigerated transport. Whereas frozen items may tolerate sub-zero storage for extended periods, chilled goods often require a tight window — typically between 0°C and 4°C.
This becomes particularly crucial when transporting items like fresh salads, sushi, biological samples, or fine wines. A fluctuation of even a few degrees can accelerate spoilage, compromise aesthetics, or negate efficacy. The Same Day Chilled Delivery service from Z5 Logistics addresses this challenge directly, offering clients a precision-timed, temperature-controlled option that integrates speed with scientific storage.
Same Day Bike Courier: The Unsung Hero of Last-Mile Cold Chain
In congested metropolitan zones, large refrigerated trucks are not always the most efficient. Here, the same day bike courier steps in as a game-changer. Equipped with insulated cargo compartments and GPS routing systems, bike couriers traverse traffic-choked avenues with the agility that trucks lack.
For time-sensitive deliveries such as pathology samples, gourmet meals, or boutique cosmetics, the bike courier london becomes a vital component of the refrigerated logistics matrix. This hybrid model — where large-scale refrigerated trucks bring cargo to central hubs and bike couriers handle the final leg — creates a dynamic, environmentally conscious cold chain infrastructure.
Economic Imperatives and Regulatory Compliance
The financial stakes for lapses in cold chain integrity are monumental. A single compromised vaccine shipment or a container of spoiled seafood can result in tens of thousands in losses — not to mention the erosion of brand reputation. As a result, industries reliant on temperature-sensitive goods increasingly demand ironclad reliability from refrigerated transport companies.
Compounding this is an evolving regulatory framework. Authorities like the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) in the UK, and international bodies like the WHO, impose rigorous transport standards on perishable goods. Compliance is no longer optional — it is a prerequisite for operational legitimacy. Companies like z5 logistics have risen to meet these standards by deploying validated processes, digital tracking, and audit-friendly documentation protocols.
Environmental Considerations in Cold Chain Logistics
While maintaining temperature integrity is paramount, there’s another side to the story: sustainability. Traditional refrigerated trucks are notorious for their emissions and energy consumption. In a world increasingly attentive to carbon footprints, the environmental cost of cold chain logistics is under the microscope.
Progressive refrigerated transport UK providers are addressing this concern through the integration of eco-friendly refrigerants, electric vehicle options, and route optimization algorithms that reduce idling and fuel burn. Moreover, leveraging compact, efficient delivery models — like the same day bike courier — further minimizes the ecological impact without sacrificing performance.
Technology’s Role in Elevating Cold Chain Reliability
Digitalization has ushered in a new era of accountability and efficiency for refrigerated transport services. Blockchain-enabled traceability, IoT temperature monitoring, AI-powered logistics planning — these aren’t futuristic ambitions but current-day imperatives.
Every point of data collected during a delivery — be it temperature deviation, traffic delay, or access verification — is logged, analyzed, and actionable. This level of transparency allows businesses to refine operations, comply with audits, and foster trust with clients.
In particular, cold chain traceability has gained importance post-COVID-19, as pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics demand unimpeachable delivery histories. Z5 Logistics has embraced this transformation, ensuring their refrigerated transport offerings aren’t just physically reliable, but digitally verifiable.
Refrigerated Transport Companies: Architects of Modern Quality Assurance
While brands garner consumer loyalty through quality and consistency, much of that assurance originates behind the scenes — within the logistical matrix. Refrigerated transport companies act as custodians of quality, ensuring that what reaches the consumer is unblemished, potent, and safe.
These companies don’t merely offer transportation — they offer guarantees. A guarantee that the freshly cut roses will bloom upon arrival. That the organic yogurt will still be rich and probiotic when it hits the store shelf. That the insulin dosage delivered to a pharmacy will remain effective. These outcomes hinge on precision, planning, and professionalism at every leg of the cold chain.
Conclusion: The Indispensable Value of Refrigerated Transport Services
In an era where immediacy intersects with exactitude, refrigerated transport services form the backbone of cold chain success. From the sweeping logistics networks operated by refrigerated transport companies to the nimble efficacy of the same day bike courier model, each link in this chain serves a singular purpose: safeguarding temperature-sensitive goods through science, speed, and strategy.
Whether it’s ensuring the efficacy of life-saving medication, the taste of a fresh burrata, or the potency of a chilled serum, the role of companies like Z5 Logistics transcends simple transport. They orchestrate a symphony of moving parts into a harmonized delivery solution that modern commerce can depend on.
As refrigerated transport UK continues to evolve, integrating innovation with responsibility, its role will only grow more indispensable. From same day chilled delivery to agile micro-fulfillment via bike, the future of cold chain logistics lies in precision, adaptability, and unyielding reliability.
