Here is my ideas for my Highland Cows Family! (sorry for the horrible drawings it’s a wip ^^’, if I find the time/motivation, I’ll probably finish them completly) For the moment it’s only a family of 4:

-light brown coat (pink-ish muzzle?) -very very fluffly -all have bangs of different sizes -all have horns -outfit mostly dark green (with brown/red?) -very cottagecore in aesthetic but a bit more refined -live in the countryside but not in a farm (more like in a little manor?) -dad is a blacksmith -mom sells tartan -cousins with the Buttercup?

Fic Writer Asks

19. Most interesting topic I've researched for a fic.

Probably airplane mechanic pieces for The Contract. (I think I've mentioned that before.) I kind of quit and decided to hand-wave technical pieces when I was downloading schematics.

A lot of the technical jargon and shit I include in my fics I've pulled from my educational career (hence all the plant related plot devices), so I haven't really researched them as much as pulled them from the recesses of my mind. (I do double check them usually.)

I'm not counting the endless questions about weaponry Kallen gets asked day in and day out. He's a boon when it comes to tactical questions. (How else do you find out the average weight of a tac vest and what's commonly in it? Google's damn near useless.)

Otherwise, I fell down a rabbit hole of Scottish weddings and proposals for Highland Tartans. I have a 200 page doc downloaded for me to flick through at some point (idk if I ever will lol!).

Weirdest? Yeesh. Charlie you ask hard questions. I don't know if anything I have researched is "weird".

I fell down a rabbit hole and downloaded a 200 page research book on Scottish Wedding Customs for my Highland Tartans WIP. I haven't opened it. I also did way too much research into how baronies and land and titles worked before saying fuck it and moving it back more in time. So maybe research into the different wars and conflicts in the 1600's Scotland?

Otherwise, I....a lot of it is stuff I already know? I know how an orchard works (Brix), I just check facts there.

Flowers from My Love has some actual botany and plant production, but again, it's plant physiology and horticulture which is like breathing air to me. I am having to do some work on service animals and Johanna's medical diagnoses (POTS and heart arrhythmia), but I'm doing that with a lot of anecdotal modeling after a few friends.

Oh, for The Contract, I did start to download and look into airplane mechanics and then decided "nah, you get to do paperwork instead because fuck this." I'm kind of winging it instead. (pun intended).

Not so much a joke as much as a pun? I don't know, it was funny when I wrote it. (I'm saying screw it to the 100 words because I can't find a spot to cut it that doesn't make it not make sense.)

“Oi! Donnachaidh!” At the call of her clan’s name, she snapped her head up, squinting in the sun. A few tents away, a man carried a sheep toward her. “This yours?” Holly began moving toward him, noting that he wore the Clan MacTavish tartan. “Maybe? Where’d you find him?” He stopped a few feet from her, the ram squirming in his arms. “He was trying to get into our food. Heard rumor that there was a Donnachaidh lass looking for a sheep.” She nodded slowly, reaching out for the animal. It bleated sadly, wiggling its head around as she set it down on the ground and wound the harness around her hand. “Aye, that was me. I’m sorry for him getting into your food.” She shook her head, looking back up at the man with a bemused look. “He ran away before we finished getting the pen up. Thought I’d never find him again.” He nodded, his bright blue eyes sparkling. “Well, I’m glad to have found him then. What’s his name?” He crossed his arms, rocking back on his feet as he smiled down at her. “Fecker.” He spluttered at the name, grinning wildly. “Away and bile ye head, lass.” Holly found herself laughing with him. “That’s if he’s good. It’s Bastard when he acts up. Mam named him - he’s always causing trouble. She wants to trade him with - well, with your clan, I suppose - given the trouble ye had last year with your flock.” She reached her hand into his wool, petting him. “He comes from a good line and all, he’s just young.” MacTavish laughed, sliding his hands to rest on his waist. “Aye, young and dumb. I know the type.”
