Héra White Dress Research
I haven't been posting much since January has been Terrible, but I am starting my next cosplay plan which is Héra from War of the Rohirrim. I love her SO much (do not listen to any Mary Sue bitching, she is a well-written character and fits SO well in Tolkien canon, she and Aredhel would be besties, I should write an essay once I stop being depressed af and have energy lol). Sir, this is my emotional support shieldmaiden, and I want to make ALL her outfits but I plan to start with her white dress since she is INCREDIBLE during that scene and it's my fave from the movie.
Anyway with this clip of her being a boss ass bitch being online I could download it and start collecting good screencaps of her outfit.
The dress itself is actually pretty simple. It's relatively form-fitting and since it's old, the edges are ragged. There is a V-shaped panel in the front that is grey with an eagle detail; I saw a cosplayer who used embroidery to create the detail and it makes sense that a bridal dress would have such detailing on it. There is a fur lining around the entire neckline, including the back. It's split in front; the original owner presumably would've had another layer underneath but Héra wears grey leggings and boots with her green shin guards that she wears with her main outfit.
You can also see that she only wears one arm guard on her sword-arm and her shield-arm only has the sleeve. The sleeve is puffed above the elbow with a brown cord; it has no visible ties presumably because it's easier to animate. (Her green dress also has upper arm ties, but those have ends. I really like this detail because Éowyn has upper arm ties on almost all her costumes, so it is a nice callback to Rohan royal fashion that has already been established.) Héra also wears dark brown gloves that are wrist-length.
The back of the dress has a deep V (poor Héra, girl must be cold AND no breast support??? I will just be doing a simple scoop neckline in the back for my version) which to me just seems like a weird design detail (I feel the same way about the thigh highs on her main outfit but that's another post lol). There is a veil on the back that attaches at the shoulder; though I've not seen any visible points of connection yet, we see it is attached to her hand via a ring on her middle finger. It's the same on both sides.
She wears a belt that dips down in a V in front, with one strip hanging low with a chevron pattern all the way around and down.
There is also a circlet, made of two twining "strings" with leaf details. It looks like it's made of metal, similar to Éowyn's circlet she wears with her blue funeral gown and the gold dress at Aragorn's coronation.
Being anime, they didn't really have to choose an actual fabric that has the amount texture and drape and shine they wanted, so I see some adventures to the fabric store in my future. Éowyn's dresses were made of silk, velvet, wool, brocade so those are all potential options to look at. (More details about Éowyn's costumes at this great site here.) It will be a fun challenge to transfer an animated costume to real life.
Hopefully I can add on this post when they finally release the physical copies and I get mine and can do more screengrabbing.

Roméo et Juliette: de la Haine à l'Amour - Redesign - 2024
To understand my completely unnecessary desire to redesign a musical that is over twenty years old, you have to understand that Romeo et Juliette is my Roman Empire. Long explanation under the break.
I wanted this design to be an homage in the silliest way possible.
I really leant into the sensibilities of original costume designer Dominique Borg, who used contemporary colour and technique and applied it to historical (or pseudo-historical) silhouettes.
Broadly, I wanted the Montagues to feel English in their shapes--Elizabethan doublets, high necklines, and ruffs, in homage to Shakespeare and the source text. They're all leather, denim, silver hardware--a little bit punk with status.
The Capulets would be deeply Italian Renaissance in their silhouettes, in reference to the setting of the play. They're all velvets, lace, chiffon, satins, and gold hardware--giving them an airiness of the Mediterranean while still allowing some drape here and there.
I wanted each family to have a slightly more broad palette than most versions afford them--which is why the Montagues have a smattering of green and magenta while the Capulets play with some soft yellows and lavenders.
The ball scene is largely Arthurian in inspiration--just because I took the idea of "what would the 1500s consider vintage and costume-y in the same way we think of the Victorian era" and ran away with it. There's also some silly Y2K nonsense because I rewatched the "On dit dans la rue" music video and thought "What if the Capulets threw this big Arthurian affair with full elegance and the Montagues cobbled together some gay club outfits circa 1998 fits out of a suit of armour."
FINALLY, I wanted Roméo and Juliette to take on elements of each other's family's style and colours for the end of the play--because to be loved is to be changed.
So here is a breakdown of my choices for each of the looks.
Un Jour: Here we see Roméo in his base look. It's a two-tone patent leather double with multiple zipper details. The peplum is criss-crossed zippers. The wings over the shoulder seams are edged with zipper teeth. The ruff detail at the neckline is also edged with zipper teeth. He has along zipper across the front of his boot like he's trying to be the next Sailor Moon. I don't know y'all. I went a little feral with trying to figure out all the places I could put zippers in.
Juliette is the most juvenile looking in Un Jour. I imagine that in this scene, she's being dressed by her family instead of her own volition.
She's in an asymmetrical, empire-waisted gown that is likely a brocaded or printed silk. Her chemise is a sheer lavender georgette or chiffon that peaks through the lacing at the shoulders and along the upper arms. She has a velvet choker and velvet belt and a heavily stoned velvet headband. Her hairstyling (it would have to be a wig, it would be NUTS to not make this a wig) is an homage to the open-weave Juliet caps that were similar to nets worn in the period on hair. Italy was, fun fact, one of the few countries where women didn't cover their hair during the renaissance.
L'amour heureux: As I explained above, Roméo's outfit is so silly. The wrap around glasses. The one arm of armour. The sheer, stoned period shirt. The gold brocade on the trousers. The pearl earring. The many, unnecessary belts. Bless this mess. It's also a cheeky little nod to Baz Lurhmann's Romeo + Juliet.
Juliette is, ostensibly, cosplaying as Guinevere or Lady Macbeth or Ophelia or any number of Middle Ages women. The ball is the Capulet's opportunity to really sell their daughter as marriage material so I wanted the look to feel bridal, hence the veil. I wanted to give reference to exaggerated surcote sleeves without actually doing them, hence the sleeve-into-glove and bow detailing with trails down to the floor. There is also a hint of yellow chemise underneath, which is actually just her Le balcon look underdressed for ease of the quick change (yes, I did think about this.) The dress is velvet with one panel of lace in-set into the underskirt. The bows are satin-face organza.
Le balcon: Romeo would change into his base again (during Le Poète). Juliette is in a simple yet totally impractical sheer chemise + slip combo. I wanted this soft yellow for this sequence because I always think about the lines "O she doth teach the torches to burn bright!" and "But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?/It is the east and Juliet is the sun" when it comes to describing her. The chemise would likely be a chiffon, while the slip would be silk.
Aimer: I say this with my whole chest--I hate how they changed the palette for Aimer in the 2010 production. I want my lovers soft and angelic and matching in this moment of union. Here we see a bit more of Romeo's lace shirt--his sleeves are laced like Juliette's in the first look. His doublet, trouser, boot combo are off-white leather in homage to the original production. Juliette's dress has a similar train length to her ball look (again, bridal) and we see the neckline creep up into a ruff (Elizabethan, rather than Italian). Lots of sheer net and lace with cream bridal satin as a skirt. Tiered sleeves. A little circlet on her head.
Le poison: Honestly? Just wanted her to have another outfit change before her death dress as a transitional choice. There's so much more of the purple in this look because it's going to take us into the blue elements of the final dress.
La mort de Roméo/Juliette: Again. To be loved is to be changed. Juliette has a dropped waistline, a high neckline and ruff, and a heart shaped cut-out detail (see: boob window). She's straight up in blue, and all the sweet and soft pinks of her youth are gone. Romeo has lost his high neckline, ruff, wins, and peplum in favour of a shorter Italian silhouette. He's asymmetrical (a call-back to Juliette's asymmetry) and all the edging detail is done in red. Mantua as a setting is patchworked, torn, and dirty, so I imagine the doublet is pieced together from scraps of jersey (so it's drippy and sad and hangs off him in a lovely manner).
#romeo et juliette#damien sargue#cecilia cara#joyce draws#retj redesign 2024#retj#this is the most unhinged thing I have ever dreamed up#anyways more to come soon#will probably do mercutio and the prince and benvolio and tybalt together as one post#did little 14 year old joyce think this is what she would STILL be talking about? nO#also if you've ever wondered what my costume design process looks like it's this

Untold Chapter
The Aftermath of the Missing Years
trigger warnings » none
Seven years.
She had lost seven years of her life trapped in Tenrou Island.
It was odd how seven years had passed yet it felt like everything happened just yesterday. The S-Class Trials, the fight against Hades, the face-off against Grimoire Heart, their last stand against Acnologia.
When they had woken up, freed from the Fairy Sphere, everything seemed and felt like the way it was. Nothing had changed. She and her guildmates, the ones that had been sent to Tenrou, had all looked the same. Frozen in time, their youth preserved, unscathed from Acnologia's attack.
The reality started to sink in when she set foot in Magnolia. She knew the town like the back of her hand, memorized every establishments, and every places. Her favorite bakery was still around, but the business expanded and branched out. Then she found out her favorite ice cream shop was gone. She heard that the place filed for bankruptcy and closed down, which was replaced by a high-end restaurant.
As she discovered these changes, it threw her for a loop. The reality finally hit her hard. The hole the seven years gap had left. She knew that it was all for the best. Being in a seven years slumber, trapped in Fairy Sphere, was a means to save everyone's lives, yet she couldn't help the mixed feelings that plagued her.
The bittersweet emotions rushed over her when she reunited with her best friend, Bisca, who caught her up to speed with everything. She learned about her marriage to Alzack and met her daughter Asuka. The adorable little girl would have been her god-daughter. Well, she already considered her as one despite her lack of attendance to that ceremony.
She was happy for Bisca. She truly was. But a part of her couldn't help but feel devastation for being left behind and for missing out.
She had remembered the plans and promises they had made together. It had been comical at that time but they had hopes that a few of them would come true. The theoretical wedding plans she had envisioned for her friend. Her being the maid of honor and helping her with her wedding preparation.
They both had this silly notion that they'd go through the stages of their lives together. One of them would get married, and the other would follow shortly. Then they'd be pregnant at the same time. They jokingly thought they could set up their kids together once they grew up.
But after everything that happened, with Bisca moving forward and Erza being behind, none of those would come true.
She pondered how she'd be able to move forward. She knew she was young, and she still had her life ahead of her, but the seven years taken away from her life was an irreparable hole. There was no way to recover all the time she had lost.
She went to her favorite bridal shop. The one that she used to go to seven years ago. Fortunately, the establishment was still on business. The wedding dress on display that she had her eye on wasn't there anymore. Out of curiosity, she entered the shop and asked about the dress. The modiste guided her to the back, leading her to the area archiving all the wedding gowns that used to be on display.
For an old design, the gown was still in pristine condition. She reached out to run her fingers through the fabric, gazing at it longingly. The aspirations she had for this dress came rushing back to her. The wedding that she had fantasized about since she had learned about love at twelve years old.
She had imagined how it would all play out. She'd go out to travel for a year, do some adventures, and meet an ordinary guy during her journey. Preferably a non-wizard, leading a different life than hers. She loved being a mage, and she loved her guildmates, but she couldn't be a wizard for the rest of her life. If she settled down, then it should be with someone far from that life. She would marry him, and they would have a kid or two.
He wasn't her first love, the one person she had loved intensely her whole life, but she would still love him. Their history wouldn't be extensive, and their connection wouldn't be as deep, but he wouldn't burn her. He could never burn her the same way Jellal did. No one could. What mattered was she and her husband would live a peaceful life together without a painful history looming over them.
With Jellal crossing her mind, she wondered how he was doing. She hadn't asked anyone about him yet.
❝Miss, are you going to take the dress?❞
Erza snapped out of her reverie as the modiste posed the question. ❝Uh, yeah, I'll take it,❞ she answered with a nod.
She wasn't going to get married, but she was going to add the gown to her inventory. It would serve as a reminder for the missing seven years in her life, and the life that she aspired.
Maybe she'd have the chance to wear it someday, but that was wishful thinking.
The missing seven years of her life was starting to sink in.
She needed to re-evaluate her life.

With the news that David’s Bridal has filed for bankruptcy, I just wanted to say that I hope they can find a buyer and don't shut down for good. I personally love my David's Bridal wedding dress (heck, it's my favorite thing I've ever worn!) and loved the experience I had at the Springfield location. I know it's not the fanciest, classiest joint and it's not very hip to have a mass-produced wedding dress from a chain store, but it felt welcoming and accessible to me in a way that not many wedding industry businesses do.
I feel like the gulf is diverging rapidly between 'high-end wedding' and 'budget wedding.' The average wedding dress from a bridal boutique costs almost $2,000, while online stores offer much cheaper dresses. But while there are a lot of convenient and affordable options online, it doesn't give that experience of trying on different dresses and styles in front of your family and friends with the help of a knowledgeable consultant-- and you might not realize how different the dress looks in person than online until it's too late.
And while secondhand or consignment bridal stores are an amazing option and I highly recommend them (I planned to visit one if my trip to David's Bridal didn't pan out), you won't have as many options for styles in your size if you have a specific vision or style preference like I did. David's Bridal makes the full experience of trying on wedding dresses in-store accessible to people who can't afford a designer gown. I don't like the idea of the 'bridal store' experience only being for the wealthy. But budget isn't the only reason it felt more inclusive to me.
My favorite thing about David's Bridal is their size-inclusiveness. Unlike many higher-end retailers, they have sample sizes in store in a wide variety of sizes. Many brides who visit fancy bridal stores can only hold a dress up to them and imagine what it looks like, or try it on with the whole back open and clipped into place. Typical sample gowns are often in designer bridal sizes 8-12, but that translates to something closer to street sizes 4 to 8. That leaves out a LOT of customers. Though things are changing, they haven't changed fast enough.
Not only are David's Bridal dresses fairly true to size, they have samples in a wide variety of sizes. I wear a street size 10-12 and those are the dress sizes I tried on at David's-- and I was able to try on every dress in my own size except for one brand new dress that we pulled off the mannequin. Unlike many other bridal stores, David's Bridal doesn't charge more for plus sizes, offers all their dresses in sizes 0-30, and uses models of all sizes in their advertising and catalogs. Although I didn't purchase a plus size dress from David's Bridal, a street size 10-12 is often considered plus at other higher-end bridal stores and would have much more limited options, especially within my small budget. And it made me feel way better to know that I was shopping in a place that wouldn't turn away other people I love and care about if they were to shop there, too.
Like many chain stores, David's Bridal experiences and stores can vary between locations. I've heard some horror stories about the stores, and I also was warned not to use their alterations department (I didn't). But when I had my appointment at David's Bridal, I never felt excluded from making certain choices or uncomfortable with my body, never felt like a less valuable customer, and the consultants were only positive and enthusiastic. I can sometimes feel very self-conscious when shopping for clothes, but it was a great day with some of my favorite people and had good vibes only.
I do hope that they find a buyer and keep at least some stores open, because I'd really like other people to have a nice welcoming experience like I did!

What's the vibe? #62
MyTheresa are probably one of the only e-tailers to say they're making quite big leaps in profit. "The Munich-based luxury e-tailer’s net sales jumped 18 percent to €234 million ($253 million) in its fiscal third quarter that ended in March. It expects net sales for the year to grow as much as 13 percent to €869 million"
+ "Mytheresa’s steady rise in sales has been attributed to the retailer’s ability to differentiate its offering from competitors. In the third quarter, it released exclusive capsule collections with Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Loewe and Brunello Cucinelli. The company also focuses on wooing its top spending clients with special events — a recent example is a 24-hour event with Paris-based label Courrèges in Shanghai for top clients that included a brand exhibition, a meeting with the brand’s creative director Nicolas Di Felice and a private dinner."
Alongside that they're thinking of acquiring Yoox-Net-A-Porter. But we'll see.

Weddings being more niche and unique than ever:
SSense launching their wedding campaign with the cutest couples has me thinking. Vogue wedding announcements are nice but this isn't similar. This is the unconventional and so are the designers in their edit - Chopova, Shushu/Tong and Anna Sui re-edits from the past.

^ From 2021
Weddings being a big business means that wedding dresses aren't necessarily applicable in every edit. They can be from ready-to-wear or custom. Younger generations are finding it easier to splurge on a designer dress more than ever, especially from a much more independent designer. They want the unique, something that someone else doesn't have.
I'm sure this is also applicable to wedding destinations also - putting this alongside maybe the rise of Luna Luna fake weddings, Usher getting married at Elvis chapel in Vegas, having custom photo booths and 7 outfits. (See New Yorker Gia Kuan)
Anything else:
Losing it with Blackbird Spyplane this week....
Ending the piece with: "And remember that a ravenous desire for cool clothes is tight so long as you keep it “gourmand” mode and avoid slipping into “glutton” mode, where, in the throes of a boundless acquisitive frenzy, you keep shoving food down your face without even tasting it, without thinking about how it got on your plate — without ever stopping to consider whether you’re enjoying it or not."

1. Diamond-Embellished Sarees: A Modern Twist on Tradition
Sarees are an iconic part of Indian culture, embodying grace and timeless beauty. When paired with lab grown diamonds, these garments are transformed into showstoppers that capture the essence of contemporary elegance while staying true to traditional values. The diamonds, meticulously sewn into intricate patterns or placed on the borders and pallu, add a touch of sparkle without compromising the traditional design.
Uniqueness: The fusion of lab-grown diamonds with sarees offers a sustainable option for fashion conscious consumers who want to enjoy luxury without the environmental cost of mined diamonds. Additionally, their ethical sourcing ensures that every saree adorned with these diamonds tells a story of responsibility and style.
2. Anarkali Suits with Diamond Detailing
Anarkali suits, known for their flared silhouette and regal appeal, are a staple in ethnic wear, especially for festive occasions. Incorporating lab-grown diamonds into the embroidery, on the neckline, or as accents on the bodice, adds a new level of sophistication. The diamonds beautifully reflect light, making these outfits perfect for weddings, galas, or any special occasion.
Uniqueness: Lab-grown diamonds bring a touch of glamour while maintaining an eco-friendly approach. These diamonds have the same visual and chemical properties as natural diamonds, making them a perfect choice for high-end ethnic wear.
3. Lab Grown Diamond Necklaces and Earrings with Lehenga Cholis
For a complete ethnic look, pairing a lehenga choli with diamond jewelry is a perfect match. Lab grown diamond necklaces, earrings, and marriage tikka sets are ideal for enhancing the richness of a lehenga. Whether it’s a traditional design with intricate craftsmanship or a more modern minimalist look, these diamonds can elevate any ensemble with their timeless beauty.
Uniqueness: Lab grown diamonds in jewelry sets are gaining popularity because of their ability to mimic the beauty of natural diamonds at a fraction of the price. The shine and brilliance are unparalleled, making them perfect for those who want a luxurious look without the environmental impact.
4. Fusion Kurtas with Diamond Accents
For those who prefer a fusion of styles, lab grown diamonds have been seamlessly integrated into contemporary ethnic wear, like fusion kurtas. These kurtas can feature subtle diamond accents on the cuffs, collars, or hemlines, adding a delicate touch of luxury to the overall look. Perfect for casual or semi-formal gatherings, fusion kurtas with diamond detailing offer an effortless yet glamorous look.
Uniqueness: The combination of modern designs with sustainable diamonds provides a stylish alternative for those who want to keep their ethnic wear trendy while supporting ethical fashion choices.
5. Diamond-Studded Bridal Outfits
When it comes to bridal wear, lab grown diamonds have quickly become a favorite in wedding fashion. Whether on a lehenga, saree, or an elaborate gown, the diamond studded bridal outfits are simply breathtaking. The intricate embroidery work enhanced with diamonds is not only a symbol of beauty but also of a commitment to sustainability.
Uniqueness: Lab grown diamonds offer brides the luxury of owning a stunning and ethically sourced piece of jewelry for their special day. These diamonds are chemically identical to natural diamonds, ensuring that the bride shines bright while remaining true to her values.
6. Diamond-Embedded Dupattas and Stoles
Dupattas and stoles are traditional accessories that can transform any ethnic outfit. By adding lab-grown diamonds to the embroidery or embellishment of these accessories, they become a statement piece. Whether worn with a salwar kameez or a lehenga, these diamond-studded dupattas instantly elevate the overall attire.
Uniqueness: The incorporation of diamonds into these delicate accessories gives them a glamorous twist without overpowering the rest of the outfit. It’s the perfect way to add just the right amount of sparkle to any traditional look.
Why Choose Lab Grown Diamonds for Ethnic Wear?
1. Ethical and Sustainable: Lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment, which reduces the environmental and ethical concerns associated with traditional diamond mining. For those who want to invest in luxury fashion while being mindful of the planet, lab grown diamonds are the ideal choice.
2. Affordable Luxury: Lab grown diamonds offer the same brilliance, clarity, and hardness as natural diamonds but at a more accessible price point. This allows customers to indulge in luxury ethnic wear without the hefty price tag.
3. Superior Craftsmanship: Since lab grown diamonds are created in a laboratory, they can be produced with greater precision and control. This results in diamonds with fewer inclusions and a higher level of consistency, making them perfect for intricate embroidery and designs in ethnic wear.
4. Ethical Storytelling: Wearing lab grown diamonds is not only a fashion statement but also an opportunity to contribute to a cause. By supporting sustainable fashion choices, individuals can share a story of responsibility, innovation, and style.

Wedding Accessories in Dubai,
Wedding Accessories in Dubai,
Dubai is known for its opulence and elegance, and when it comes to weddings, the city certainly lives up to its reputation. From grand venues to high-end couture bridal gowns, everything about a Dubai wedding exudes luxury. But it’s not just the dress that makes a bride stand out — it’s the accessories that complete the look. Wedding accessories in Dubai are just as extravagant and breathtaking as the ceremonies themselves, offering a variety of options for brides to make their special day even more memorable.
1. Headpieces: A Royal Touch
In Dubai, bridal headpieces are a symbol of grandeur. The most popular choices for Dubai brides include tiaras, crowns, and ornate headbands adorned with crystals, diamonds, and pearls. These stunning pieces can add a touch of royalty to a bride’s overall appearance, elevating the wedding look to extraordinary heights. Many Dubai-based designers offer custom-made headpieces, ensuring the bride has a one-of-a-kind accessory that perfectly matches her gown.
2. Jewelry: Diamonds, Gold, and More
Dubai is home to some of the world’s most renowned jewelry brands, and bridal jewelry is no exception. Brides in Dubai often wear exquisite diamond necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. Many bridal sets feature intricate designs, such as floral motifs or traditional Arabic patterns, to add a cultural flair. The region is also known for its gold, and many brides opt for 22 or 24-karat gold jewelry, offering both tradition and timeless elegance. For brides who want to add some sparkle to their look, custom jewelry pieces can be designed, combining classic and modern styles.
3. Bridal Veils: The Ultimate Elegance
A bridal veil is a classic accessory that has stood the test of time. In Dubai, veils are often custom-designed to suit the bride’s taste and the grandeur of the ceremony. Long, cathedral-length veils decorated with lace, crystals, or intricate embroidery are particularly popular, creating a dramatic effect as the bride walks down the aisle. Some brides choose to complement their veils with matching accessories, such as embellished hairpins or combs, adding an extra layer of sophistication to their look.
4. Shoes: Comfort Meets Luxury
The wedding day is a long one, so comfort is just as important as style. In Dubai, brides typically invest in luxurious, yet comfortable wedding shoes that match their gown and add to their overall elegance. From crystal-encrusted stilettos to satin flats adorned with pearls, there are countless options to choose from. Many luxury shoe designers in Dubai offer custom designs, allowing brides to select materials, colors, and embellishments that perfectly suit their personal style.
5. Clutches and Handbags: Function and Style
Bridal handbags or clutches in Dubai are designed to be both functional and stylish. They are the perfect accessory for holding essentials such as lipstick, tissues, and a phone while maintaining the bride’s overall elegance. Bridal clutches are often encrusted with diamonds or crystals, and they come in various designs, from vintage-inspired pieces to modern, sleek styles. Some brides even have their initials or wedding date engraved on their clutches for a personal touch.
6. Bridal Gloves: Timeless Sophistication
Bridal gloves are another accessory that adds a touch of class to a Dubai wedding. Made from fine lace, satin, or silk, gloves can vary in length from elbow-length to wrist-length, and many feature delicate embellishments like beads, lace, or embroidery. While not as commonly worn as other accessories, gloves can transform a simple wedding dress into something truly regal. Dubai brides often pair gloves with off-shoulder or strapless gowns, creating a sophisticated look that is both feminine and refined.
7. Perfume: A Signature Scent
In Dubai, scent is an important part of the bridal experience. Many brides choose to wear luxurious perfumes to add a signature fragrance to their big day. The Middle East is known for its rich tradition of perfume-making, with oud, rose, and jasmine being some of the most popular scents. Brides often select perfumes that complement their personalities, and the scent lingers in the memories of their wedding guests long after the celebration ends.
8. Traditional Accessories: Cultural Significance
In addition to Western-style bridal accessories, many Dubai brides also incorporate traditional accessories that have cultural significance. One example is the "ma'azoun," a decorative silver or gold chain worn around the neck that symbolizes wealth and good fortune. Another accessory often seen at weddings is the "hijab" or headscarf, which is worn by some Muslim brides in a modern or traditional style, depending on their preference. These accessories can be crafted from luxurious fabrics such as silk or chiffon, adding a cultural dimension to the bridal look.
9. Bridal Belts and Sashes: Defining the Waist
A bridal belt or sash can be the perfect finishing touch to a wedding gown, and Dubai designers excel in creating these elegant accessories. Embellished with crystals, pearls, or embroidery, bridal belts accentuate the waist and add a touch of sparkle. Whether it's a slim satin belt or a statement piece covered in jewels, this accessory is often used to complement the dress and enhance the bride's overall silhouette.
Conclusion
Dubai is a city of unparalleled luxury, and its wedding accessories reflect that. From dazzling jewelry to custom-made veils, shoes, and headpieces, Dubai brides have access to a wide array of stunning pieces to complement their wedding attire. Whether opting for traditional or modern accessories, every bride in Dubai can find something that reflects her personal style and the grandeur of her special day.
