“It’s impossible for you to keep a job, isn’t it?” you questioned as you looked over at your boyfriend who sat across the table from you.

He was looking through the wanted ads for another part-time job since he had just been fired from his for fighting. He simply grunted in response, his eyes scanning over the page. 

You smiled softly and crawled over to sit beside him, resting your head on his shoulder and staring down at the page. “You’ve basically been through all of the available jobs… you should really consider stopping the fighting at work.”

“Hmm,” he flipped the page and scowled down at the page, resting his cheek against his fist. He was getting annoyed because he couldn’t find anything new. Most every job that was listed he had already taken and gotten fired from, but it wasn’t his fault, those guys were askin’ for it! He threw the paper onto the table and turned his gaze to you before speaking. “I’ll be going out tomorrow to look for something. Stay out of trouble while I’m gone, alright?”

You scoffed, looking away from him as your arm wrapped around his muscled one. “I don’t get into trouble.”

“You’re always in trouble when I’m not around.” he grinned, pulling his arm free to wrap it around your shoulders.

“Pfft, you’re not one to talk,” you scoffed, folding your arms and closing your eyes. You felt him pull you closer, lips pressing against your forehead and you fought the urge to smile. “What do you expect me to do? It’s always so boring when you’re not around.”

He chuckled against your hair, rubbing his hand up and down your bare arm. “I won’t be gone long this time. A couple hours max.”

“Hmm, fine. I promise to behave,” you paused, glancing up at him. “If you do.”

He scowled, staying quiet for a moment before grinning down at you. “Don’t get into too much trouble.”

You laughed, wrapping your arms around his middle. Toujou didn’t seem like it, but he was a pretty good boyfriend, kind to you and always looking out for you. He never got angry at you or hurt you, and was always there for you no matter what.

You knew the two of you would be together forever.

Headcanons:

Toujou met Kagome through her part-time job in a small cafe when he started working.

Although the manager was not sure to hire him upon judging his looks, Kagome told him to give him a chance because she was getting tired of doing work for almost three people.

It was not until the delinquents of Ishiyama High transfered to Saint Ishiyama Academy that Toujou found out it was Kagome’s school. 

Everyone was very surprised one of the Tohoshinki knew such a cute girl.

And more surprised she was unafraid of him even when he scared other Saint Ishiyama Academy students.

When deliquents of Ishiyama High tried to shoo Kagome - who was only delivering her notes to Toujou - away from their classroom saying weak people were not allowed, Toujo cut in saying she was more than capable of beating them all if she actually tried.

This sparked the other Tohoshinki and Oga to try to fight her, but Toujou forbade it. 

Kagome was quite surprised by Toujou’s interest in cats and even in kids.

My take on the fascinating complexity of one of the best ensemble cast in manga I have ever come across.

The timeline was written a bit trickily because I like the concept that destiny doesn't proceed linearly, plus it's an help for my way to write, which heavily follows inspirations but which is always also very structured in the plotlines from the start (it's tricky in itself, that inspiration of mine!). All the time set ups are anyway related to Haruichi Furudate's canon notions as well as the real Japanese calendar scheduling. I adore Japan so I put Country related bits in the story as much as I could :) Please notice that if you like to follow the correctly timed sequence of the chapters you have to follow this order: 1… 3… 4… 7… 10… 11… 2… 5… 16… 14… 9… 13… 6… 12… 8… 15… 17… 18… 20… 21… 19… 22
