Figured I'd do a quick WiP of my current build. The RG Hi-v Gundam. My lord this thing is gorgeous! And fun to build! There is a bit of custom work here. The eyes and cameras know the head are all painted. I don't like eye stickers at the best of times, and RGs tend to have eye stickers that just don't stick. At least for me.

Hi-Nu is a fucking godsend, this kit was so nuts, I spent an hour just playing with his fucking leg. Previously my top spot for kits I’ve built was the God Gundam but this fucker looks just about perfect snap built, let alone when I get the time to detail him 😍

Hi-Nu Dragoon

Based off BB Koumei Nu Gundam, as well as a few ideas from @reversemoon255 and @toacaldoric , it’s a Hi-Nu variant built for speed and close range attacks. The support unit it’s paired with has a set of 6 Funnels, and it can act as either a backpack for the main body OR further combine with it to form a dragon shaped mobile armor.

First we start with the boy:

Then he becomes entombed in The Sphere: (below the cut)

The little sphere sits in the Inner Frame:

and the outer frame gets assembled (and yes i see the decal that has fallen off, such is life; this was before i used Mr. Softer and Mr. Setter)

We can still see him from above

And then the outer armor is complete, and we shut the hatch:

Here is the RG Hi Nu Gundam (spelled like Hi-ν Gundam?) with the hyper mega bazooka launcher. I actually built this months ago but the bazooka launcher came in the mail 2 weeks ago. ngl i got it because I wanted it to go with the hyper mega bazooka launcher, which was financially questionable since the bazooka launcher is pbandai. Fortunately the RG Hi Nu Gundam is one of the best RGs ever (also the scale is closer to 1/100 than 1/144?). Also worth noting the bazooka launcher comes with 2 action bases. Sometimes you need a giant cannon to go with your giant robot. It also works with other gundams and the hands for the GWitch HGs fit in just fine. I showed Calibarn for scale. It's so large I couldn't get a picture that showed the whole thing with the details easily visible on my phone camera. The lat picture is it next to some MGs.

10/10 very fun.

The Hi-Nu Gundam was a super fun build! A bit more complicated than expected, but that was a pleasant change from the couple of HG kits i've done recently.

Incredibly tight tolerances on this guy, and that backpack is just as heavy as it looks (I had to steal Epyon's base for him to even stand up ToT) It also has so many more little bitty detail gimmicks than I expected. There are beam sabers inside of the wings, one inside of the left forearm, there's little open-y bits all over it, and several expansive motion mechanisms in the legs that look SICK when they're open.
