this was taking some getting used to, that he did know. daryl wasn't sure whether he was having a problem adjusting to life like it was before or, the fact that he was here and no one else from home was. how the hell was that fair? he'd trade places with them in a heart beat so they could experience and take in all this. all he wanted was for them to be alright. the self defense classes was something he did part time, something for more income. it wasn't like working at the orphanage brought in a lot of money and that would've been fine, it wasn't as if daryl was a materialistic person but… he had to live out here. his property, food on the table, the income it took to gather resources to search for his people. it took money and it wasn't as if london was a small city either, the ground he had to cover was huge. it didn't help that people kept popping up out of nowhere either, he couldn't just move ; what if they showed up here? "getting the hang of this. huh?" nodding his head. they hadn't been doing the classes that long but it was good to see that it was doing something for someone, at least. fun fact about me! I have hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (hPOTS). this means I am prone to fainting when I change positions or when I feel a strong surge of emotion, positive or negative. for me, laughing is my worst non-postural trigger.

this is a clip from playing lethal company with friends a few months ago. you can hear the eerie silence of presyncope at 0:19, and the sound at 0:23 is my face hitting the keyboard lmao. I played this for my mother and she literally pissed herself laughing and DEMANDED I show every single person I know (including my doctors, who thought it was funny to see and surprisingly helpful, especially for being audio only).

"LOOKS LIKE THE JOKE'S ON ME?" hailey wasn't here to start anything with him. he had come to warn her about this and she hadn't listened. the truth was that she hadn't wanted to hear it. finn was all she really had outside of her work but it was no excuse. there was no excuse for her, especially as a detective to let that slide AND SHE HAD. sure, she'd had no idea that any of it was true or even happening. any of it but it made her look like a fool. right? finn had taken the one good thing she had or at least remembered it and made it into a joke. the truth was she was HEARTBROKEN but that could wait. she wasn't done being pissed about it yet.
