There was a pleasant fog in his mind, swirling softly as he regained his thoughts. Weird. YS didn’t remember falling asleep, and it was surprising that he even had to begin with. What had he been doing earlier? Wow, he couldn't remember. That was new. Since when did he get into enough of a deep sleep to lose grip on the actions before? Why was he slow to wake up properly this time?

It felt like he was on the couch. TV? No, it was off, so he hadn’t been watching anything. YS supposed he could’ve been mindlessly scrolling on his phone again. It would be discarded somewhere nearby. But that wasn’t where his attention lay- the more he fell away from his slumber, the more he became aware of something.

Someone was running a hand through his hair. Soft and consistent, leaving small trails of wonderful warmth across his scalp as it went. YS, without really thinking about it, eagerly nuzzled his head up into the hand. More, that felt so nice, more please…

Hold on. Who was here? Only seemed like one person as far as he could tell. There were soft but mischievous chuckles from the culprit, most likely amused by his eagerness. Fuck, right, what the hell was he doing being so vulnerable? If he had a guest, how did he have the audacity to doze off so heavily?

YS pulled his eyes open, ignoring how much his brain really did not want to pull away from the hair petting. Somehow he’d ended up in such a ridiculous position, and he suddenly felt like nothing more than a stuffed animal.

Right, he was starting to remember now.

Boyf had come over. There was no reason to speak of, but it wasn’t like any of them had an underlying reason to come by anymore. Sure, he was still a comfort to them, and they’d come by sometimes to benefit from it. But they still continued to show up because they could. YS probably wouldn’t ever get over that.

Hanging around, being close without having to hold much of a conversation. That had been fine. But then Boyf had started humming, and YS still couldn’t really tell if it had been purposeful or not. But god dammit, that proved to be another way to incapacitate him now. Just like how he would hum to any of them when he was trying to calm and comfort them, it did the same for him. But because of his rampant insomnia, he was always tired. So if any of them returned the favor it was knocking his ass out embarrassingly fast.

Boyf was holding him to his chest like a teddy bear. What the hell. Clearly after he’d dozed off, the other decided pulling him onto his lap to hold him like a baby while he slept was the best plan. Did he just not care about how embarrassing that was to wake up to? Probably not. Despite knowing YS was awake now he didn’t bother to stop petting through his hair, or to let him go for that matter.

“...How long was I out?” YS mumbled after a few minutes of not moving either. He was praying that it wouldn't be pointed out later.

“Uhhh… maybe two hours, give or take?” Boyf responded innocently, grip suddenly tightening when he felt YS cringe with utter embarrassment. “Don’t get all worked up over it, man. Glad to help you rest. Sleep’s important, even for indignant softies in denial.”

YS groaned. “Fuck. Did you do that on purpose? You’re all figuring out too quickly that I’m weak to siren song behavior.”

“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.” He was playing around with it. Boyf was grinning even though YS couldn’t see his face. “Worth it, honestly. You got some nice rest, didn’t you? I think you did, you were leaning so heavily into me I thought you were going to start melting. You fell asleep so fast, it was hilarious. I’m sooooo going to be doing this again.”

What a fucking asshole. YS whined, pushing his nose into Boyf’s shoulder as he felt his shapeshifting go rogue again. This power was such a goddamn hazard.

“Oh please, do shrink, glad to know that you’re eager about your teddy bear status. Still haven’t left my hug either!” Boyf mused wickedly.

“Fuck you.” YS hissed, finally pulling away enough to see the smug look on his face. “Can’t you waste this menace energy on someone else? Go have another fight with Beefer or something, I didn’t do shit to deserve this target on my back.”

“You were the one who put the target on your own back the second you decided to make yourself known. Sounds like a you problem, buddy!” Boyf snarked back immediately. “Get more embarrassed, I want you to shrink more for my own amusement.”

Oh fuck no. YS was not playing into this shit this time. He ignored the tease, focusing all his energy on keeping control of his damn shapeshifting, getting back to his normal height. “Not this time you little shitter. I know you all embarrass me on purpose now, I’m practicing fighting off the auto-small whatever the fuck that happens.”

“No fun.” Boyf thought with a playful sigh. “Still funny that your so-called power ends up betraying you more often than not though. Would be interesting to have the ability to shapeshift whenever you want. Why don’t you really use it?”

“I mean, there’s not really much I need to be doing with it?” YS responded, shrugging. “You can ask Biff about how I would fuck around and over-exaggerate my jaw when singing when we first met. Really, honestly, no reason for me to do it. It only made me look even more creepy. Eugh, and the whole bone ignoring stuff, yeah I never really used it for anything important.”

“So lame. Biff getting to gatekeep all this shit about you. I think I’ve figured out what that little secret was but I haven’t tested my theory yet. You should be grateful I haven’t, if it’s what I think it is.”

“ANYway…” YS redirected immediately. He was not risking this conversation again. “Now you’ve got me thinking. You said having shapeshifting would be interesting, why haven’t you… tried borrowing it? Biff borrowed my magic before and I didn’t even know he could. I’m not really sure how he did it either, but if he could, maybe the rest of you can…?”

The look on Boyf’s face. Oh, YS was going to regret saying that, wasn’t he?

“Hooooly shit. I’m gonna try. Imagine that we start using it to be taller than your dumbass, not such a BIG brother then are you?”

“Don’t push it.” YS sniffed, amused. “Don’t you like being a little brother? I very aptly remember you being jealous that you didn’t get to be one sooner. If you make yourself taller than me then you can’t really be a little brother, now can you?”

Gotcha. Boyf shot him a playful glare. “Fine then. You know what? I’ve been sitting here for two hours with a big sleepy baby making me unable to move, and now I’m tired. I’m going to become small and now you're going to have to deal with a koala bear with an iron grip. Idiot.”

“Motherfucker-”

Well, YS didn’t have a chance to protest. Boyf figured out the trick to borrowing magic scarily fast, and within less than a minute the moron was using it, shrinking to the point YS was now towering over him. The fallen angel didn’t even get a chance to properly move before Boyf channeled his inner bug and crawled his way around, jumping on his back and hugging tightly.

“Fucker!” YS shouted again. He didn’t actually mind, but he wrapped his hands back to push Boyf up higher onto his shoulders instead, just to destroy the risk of the idiot finding his scars. He was not having another one find those. “Well now what? You can’t stay here forever, you’ve already spent hours doing fuck all.”

“Figure it out dumbass!” Boyf managed to shout, nuzzling his face into the top of YS’s head. “You can’t send me back to my world, I’m not in it, so you can’t get there!”

“Actually…” YS remembered suddenly. “I can. But you’d have to be the one to tell your mirror-walking to drag me with you. Beef did it once, I was uh- well, I wasn’t having a good time let’s say. He straight up just pulled me through the mirror with him back to his own apartment. And I didn’t bring my microphone with me. So it can work, actually.”

“Oh shit. Why don’t you ever talk about these cool ass things?! Stop keeping secrets you shady bitch.” Well that was a new one. “Go to the mirror, I wanna test this now. I wanna fuck around with magic.”

YS rolled his eyes, doing as he was told. He wasn’t sure if this was even going to work, reaching an arm out to rest his hand on the glass. It was solid, because of course it was. He raised an eyebrow, opening his mouth to say ‘nevermind’, but then Boyf copied his action and also put a hand on the mirror. Suddenly the mirror was no longer solid, now it was walkable.

“Well, I hope we don’t end up somewhere fucked. Never tried this before…” YS mumbled before stepping through.

Thankfully, no fuck ups. They both slipped through the mirror just fine, ending up in Boyf’s apartment. The bathroom mirror above the sink, specifically, and YS had to over-complicate his climb out since there was a parasite on his back.

“Okay, we’re here. Where’s your partners, I’m gonna hand you off to them. I’ve got shit I’ve been putting off for weeks that I really should be doing by now…”

“You’re actually trying to get rid of me. That’s so fucked up.” Boyf’s thoughts were starting to get a little wobbly, signaling that he was starting to actually fall asleep now. “I’m not letting go, asshole. Good luck trying to pry me off.”

“For god’s sake- really?” YS grumbled, walking out of the bathroom and searching for his brother’s partners himself. It took a little bit, but he found them in the bedroom, minding their own business when he peeked his head in. “Oh good. You two, I have a special delivery. Take him.”

YS revealed their magically shrunken boyfriend by stepping properly into the room, garnering two different but hilarious reactions.

“He’s- small.” Pico pointed out dumbly.

“He’s so small!” GF repeated, her tone filled with infinitely more glee. “Oh but he’s falling asleep. You want us to take him? Sorry to inform you but you’re stuck. You’re not getting out of his grip until he’s awake later.”

Seriously? “Can’t you two shitters just take him? He’s your boyfriend.” He probably shouldn’t be using rude nicknames to refer to them, but oh well.

“Listen, the heart wants what the heart wants, and sometimes that’s his big brother.” GF teased.

Boyf lifted his head at that, gaze half-lidded but indignant. “Fah’ you.”

“I-” YS stumbled over the fact the big brother thing was being mentioned so casually, by someone who wasn’t another version of him. Did these morons talk so fondly about him? That was… sweet.

“Fine. If you won’t take him then I’m borrowing your couch until he lets the fuck go of me. So much for doing those things I was meant to do weeks ago. Nothing ever goes my way when I want it to, does it?”

He was complaining to deaf ears, so he turned around and made his way over to the apartment’s couch. He managed to maneuver Boyf around once more, so he could lie down on his back while the little idiot was surgically attached to his chest instead.

At least Boyf’s partners were a little used to him. They’d met briefly last time when Boyf had very conveniently waited for them to be out to pass out on the floor while sick. YS hadn’t expected them to be teasing though. Well, the GF in this world was. The Pico was clearly a bit scared of him. That was fine, he looked weird and Picos always had insane trauma.

Boyf was completely knocked out now. This idiot, teasing him for being quick to fall asleep, when this was how he ended up like twenty minutes later? What a hypocrite. Small, warm hypocrite sprawled across his chest. Small. Smaller. Little brother turned littler. My little brother. Protect, love, protect, love…

Guard.

That last thought made YS jolt. Oh shit, really, was that what this was? How was that possible, he’d seen to his own Fall, those instincts shouldn’t even be there anymore. And for all of them, too? His guardian angel instincts were attaching and going ballistic with his other selves?! He wasn’t even a fucking angel anymore, that shouldn’t be happening!

They would never let him live this down if they knew. It might not be the same in other worlds, but guardian angels had a really interesting problem in his world. That problem being they would get incredibly possessive of whoever they attached to. Probably some mechanism built in that made it for certain they’d always do their job of, well, guarding. But it was also fucking embarrassing.

Well, the angel wasn’t meant to feel embarrassed about it, but that was normal angels who didn’t start doing things like feeling. Angels that weren’t YS.

“Fuck…” YS breathed, amused but slightly panicked at the same time. He still had angelic instincts? Why? He wasn’t supposed to be an angel anymore. And why did it have to be over his other selves, that was so weird, how was he supposed to justify being so possessive over ‘himself, but slightly different’?

He felt a gentle rumble in his pocket where his microphone was. Huh. She was awake again. Rumble? Was she… laughing? Wait a minute.

“You knew.” YS accused softly. “You fucking knew it was still there and you pushed me after them. You knew and manipulated me so I would have a purpose again, you cheeky minx!”

He could see her start glowing in his pocket. Of course. Hah, even in her state now, she was still the smarter of the two. Despite everything that had happened, she was still trying to keep him alive. Still loving and caring for him. Pushing him towards other versions of himself who somehow loved him too, because that was how she could show he was loved in her state now.

“Hah.” YS wasn’t sure if he should feel used or overwhelmed with sentiment. His arms tightened around Boyf’s back while he snoozed. 

“I said they were stopping me from continuing my plan. I said I couldn’t do it anymore. I didn’t realize that I literally couldn’t do it anymore. Those damn failsafe instincts… they’ll never let me. And you weren’t satisfied with pushing me to attach to just one, were you? No, it had to be all of them, because that way there’d never be any chance of detaching. No chance of letting myself die.”

This whole time, he’d thought he was going along with his plan and in control of his own fate. Herself had always been one step ahead of him, hadn’t she? Why had he ever thought that she’d let him die even in the state she was in now? Of course she wouldn’t. That was just how it goes, doing everything they could for each other. Even if those actions would’ve spelled death for him.

He sighed, letting his stupid instincts take over and hugged tighter around Boyf. At least he had a clear answer as to why he was so attached. He really had thought all of that shit was gone after he’d torn his wings off. But that left a pit of nervousness to form. Being clingy wasn’t unfamiliar to YS, but surely at least one of them would get uncomfortable, right? He’d have to work on pushing the possessiveness away.

Sure, he was giving into it now, but he could get away with it right now. Other times, not so much.

It was fine. He’d let himself give in for now. Maybe indulging the instincts now would make it easier to ignore them later.

okay well to no one's surprise, obviously the goat himself: pete. I could go on about why him but that'd be an essay.

but lets see, I'll name five others. this got long so i'ma put it under a read more.

tim drake aka robin aka red robin. he was actually the first character I ever wrote, I adore him. I love how damaged he is and he's so much fun to write in contrast to pete. pete who's outgoing, friendly, warm, etc. and tim is just cold, calculating, almost a sociopath fjaskljdlf.

katara from ATLA. I mean, how can you not love her growth from teaching herself the art and then going through the struggle in a sexist society and proving herself capable? I love seeing her slow growth from barely able to hold up a ball of water to becoming the most powerful water bender we've seen in the show. I actually really like how she keeps her caring side, but she has an edge to her too. she has her limits of what she's willing to do for someone and what she'll let go of.

luke skywalker. I know, kinda basic but what can I say? farmboy being thrust into a galactic conflict, finding out that he has a connection to the main villain. also the way he was so determined to turn anakin back to the light, his growth from being a whiny brat to being a stone cold badass?? I love his conflicts and struggles in the later books too. I love him bringing the jedi order back and reforming it because he learned from the mistakes of the old jedi order (which it was, the jedi order at the prequels was terrible and deserved to be destroyed #palpatinedidnothingwrong) luke trying to find where his jedi order is going to fit into the new galaxy too, learning to be a father and husband and mentor to his nephews and later his son.

samwise from lotr<3 tbh I could've put any of the hobbits on here but sam is just the best man. I love the fact that he's so young at the start of the journey, he's so innocent. you see him getting wowed by things like seeing the trolls turned to stone, i love him making the little poems of stuff that they see throughout their journey in the books. I love the idea that he's willing to go through all of this pain and turmoil with frodo simply because they are friends. it's such a beautiful thing and so heartwarming, the fact that someone is willing to put their life on hold and help someone else simply because of the bond they have as friends. I mean how can you not love the "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" like...come on.

another lotr one but gandalf. I love that he's so wise and patient and full of compassion. the fact that he was close with Nienna who's whole thing is making wisdom from grief and sadness and I mean, that's what gandalf takes with him. I love the fact that he sees true strength coming from small, every day acts of kindness. simple things are all it takes to keep darkness at bay and that's something that's so true. you'd be surprised how just being kind and showing a bit of outgoing love can help someone's entire day shift, you never know what people are going through. i mean also the fact that he's a badass wizard. I never understood why there was ever a debate over which kind of wizard you'd wanna be, one from harry potter or lotr? like bRUH FOR REAL? Yeah, lemme go to fucking hogwarts and study and take notes during class and take some fucking wizard SAT-NO! Bruh, I wanna be an immortal spirit who comes down to earth, you wield a sword called the FOE-HAMMER, you ride the king of the horses and you fight hell-demons for three days, kill them and then get all the xp and come back after you leveled up.

Didn't Need Burrow: Chat Noir will *deliberately* mess up a vital task that Ladybug assigned/entrusted him with, either to punish her for some petty/imagined slight (which is treated as Incredibly Serious and Deserving his retaliation) or because he simply doesn't want to have to deal with the extra responsibility. Much like somebody who 'never learns' the right way to load a dishwasher/do laundry/other chores so that somebody more responsible is forced to pick up their slack.

Sounds about right.

“Bonus” if Chat Noir is presented as in the right because Ladybug’s task was “too difficult”/”she didn’t instruct him right”/”you can’t expect him to be perfect on his first try,” or Chat Noir’s shirking is treated as “payback” for something she did that he maybe doesn’t even know about.

This is the last part of me providing my Thoughts™ and Feelings™ about Shadow and Bone as I watch it 'cos this one is about the finale:

They brought back Alina and Mal reaching out for each other, and oh, boy, was that heartbreaking! It’s so well done yet so painful

Mal's turn-around of "Time will do it for me" to "Your past will do it for me” when he let the volcra get the Darkling was so good. I literally clapped, even though I knew the Darkling would, obviously, live

Also, the ending of the Darkling emerging from the Fold after Alina and Mal saying he’s dead was a great yet predictable (in a good way) transition. And the way the Darkling said, “Follow,” and the merzost just came with him was chilling. That was a perfect way to end the first season in my opinion

Not to brag, but I said three things before Jesper, one before Kaz, and one before Nina. I think my theory about absorbing the Crows' personalities is more true than I initially thought it was

Remember how I mentioned how the ugliness and asymmetry of the antlers in Alina’s collarbone was such an amazing parallel to the pain she is in? Well, her absorbing the antlers altogether after releasing herself from the Darkling’s control and realising the stag chose to give her its power is just. . .WOW. I honestly don’t know how to express how beautiful that was

Also, my best friend did bring up a good point: where did the antlers go? Did they just go further into her body? Did she legit consume them into her body and they’re just gone? What happened? 😂

Can I talk about Nina and Matthias for a hot second? I honestly don’t think I felt so much for Helnik when I read the Six of Crows duology as I did in this last episode, so I have a lot to say. The chemistry is straight from the pages of the books, but it’s so much different physically seeing them interact than just reading about it. It’s also different ‘cos we are seeing the relationship develop between them than being thrown in the middle of it with backstory being sprinkled throughout the progression of their story. The two of them flirting and being cute was so lovely, but the fear in Nina’s eyes when she knows she has to make a horrible decision between Matthias being arrested or being killed and then the betrayal that is written all across Matthias’ face in that cell on the ship was just devastating

I know this isn't about this episode, but I realised I forgot to mention it attached to episode 6 (I think), but Ivan threatening Jesper with him knowing what he is was dastardly. Like, I know you have to have read the books to know what Ivan was saying 'cos Jesper cuts him off, and I love little Easter eggs like that for us, but the foreshadowing of that shit was good. Leave the people who haven't read the books with questions and the people who have in anticipation! God, I love that!

Jesper still missing Milo is so precious and, I hate to say it, a mood ‘cos me too. I wanted to see a surprise appearance from the darling goat, but I will take Jesper bringing him up twice as compensation

Speaking of Jesper being a mood, Jesper begging for the reassurance that Kaz has got their backs with a plan was so painfully relatable. Bro, I would have done the same thing in that situation

It hurts me on a spiritual level to be aware that five out of the six Crows were on that boat at once. I need Wylan. Y’all, season 2 better happen 😭

And I want more interactions between Inej and Alina and between Inej and Zoya. That shit makes my Sapphic heart go berserk. You can’t look me in the eyes and say there isn’t the least bit of gay tension between these women. And that means I am so looking forward to Inej and Nina interacting; I may pass out

In addition to that, Kaz saying he needs Inej added five years to my life. And I think the happiest he looked all season was when Inej said she’d go with him to pay off Heleen and then decide what to do from there. And Kaz being a believer is ✨bonkers✨ in the best way possible

Lastly, to end with something about my boy, Jesper saying that he still couldn’t shoot Ivan’s pretty face was fucking great. I also died laughing at him saying that the true wealth was the friends they made along the way ‘cos of course Jesper is going to be the one to make a real-world meme reference and, on top of that, make it about the goat! Amazing, beautiful, wonderful. As always, I love him dearly

My final thoughts on the show as a whole is that it is a great adaptation of the books, especially with the blending of the storylines from the trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. The pacing was something I honestly had to adjust to, considering I know so much of the source material, but I think it worked and was a good choice to help viewers unfamiliar with the books understand what is happening. And even though I’ve read the books, I was pleasantly surprised with the numerous twists and turns; I was invested in the show as a whole, not just for the familiar characters and storylines (that was just a bonus, tbh). I genuinely love this show and am willing to say it is now tied for my favourite television show with Orphan Black and Good Omens. I’m hoping desperately for a season 2, not just for Wylan and Nikolai, but because this was truly so beautiful and brought me a lot of happiness and peace during one of the scariest and most stressful times in my life

I just want to thank anyone who has read any of these things I've written about the show. I truly didn't expect anyone to read them or even really care about what I thought or felt, but it does mean a lot that some of you are willing to read them at all and then even give them a like. Thoughts on Ep. 503

Oh, Outlander. Le sigh.

On one hand, this episode gave me everything I’ve been wanting for 84 years a long time: Jamie and Claire, together, working as a team as the center of the episode. On the other hand, this very much did *not* feel like an episode of Outlander.

Bottle episodes are fine. The Garrison Commander, The Wedding and A. Malcolm were all basically bottle episodes. Two of those three are a couple of my favorite episodes of the whole series. This episode was like if the times the show decided to cosplay as a different genre (horror this time, rather than the political drama and military drama we’ve seen them attempt in the past) was dialed up to the point it no longer resembled an episode of the same show. From the music to the directing to p much everything.

This episode made me think that like if Outlander was a Venn diagram it would have Claire and Jamie working together as a team, them in the bulk of the episode, and a Good Episode™ of Outlander. You could have two but never all three.

(Also I hate horror movies. They’re just aggressively not jam.)

Ok but now that Marsali is Claire’s apprentice, can we have her and Fergus find out about time travel this season? Because in the books it’s like vaguely implied in MOBY but we never actually get to see that convo.

Also, yes, Marsali, Boston’s pretty rad. Not that I’m biased or anything. In addition to apparently “discovering” penicillin, we also invented Amurrica.

Shorter Claire’s VO: Idgaf about the timeline anymore. Don’t see how that can go wrong.

So was the blurry af title card Marsali practicing suturing? Why did they shoot it like that. It looks more like how they shot Mr. Beardsley’s POV rather than through the moldy bread covers or whatever it was through.

That whole intro part felt like it came from a different episode and was just tacked on to remind us that mold shenanigans are still a thing that is happening.

I do love Marsali, and her with Claire, though, but still.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 :

from damyang, south korea !!  a v small agricultural town & was born into humble beginnings - a seamstress for a mom, and her dad a farmer !! so she lived on a small farm when she was younger and was raised with pigs, cows, and goats as pets !

she helped around the farm her whole time she lived home, so she has a lot of life skills t & knows all about caring for animals and tending the farm !

they weren’t well off by any means - they had a small income to spread thin between all those people - but they made it work !! she never felt truly slighted as she knew their situation, in fact in her own way, she was spoiled in the best way she could be given their predicament.

raised in a household full of boys - she’s the youngest w a family of 6 loud, rowdy boys.

so in a way she’s more of a tomboy, used to roughhousing and all her sibling’s antics !! she’s also used to doing a lot of heavy lifting around the farm so has surprising strength for her size.

on the other hand, being the youngest & only daughter has upped the girliness !! she’s used to being babied so knows all about acting cute & her mom was always using her as an experiment for all her clothes !! was raised on handmade dresses her mom made in all sorts of intricate patterns & loved it !!

has been an actress in the making for a g e s !!! it all started when she was a really young kid, her mom would let her watch the tv in the tailor shop so she’d have something to do while her mom was at work !!

so there was this drama “a rolling hills romance” ( which i TOTALLY made up lmao !! ) that she absolutely loooved !! it was about a farm romance and was one of the only ones she saw that wasn’t taking place in the city !! it just got her in love with acting in general though, she’d eventually memorize scenes from all the dramas she’d watch and recite them out of the blue !!!

eventually it got her into theatre acting, which was her favorite !! she started watching broadway shows from abroad, memorizing the songs even though she didn’t always know what they were saying. but she just loooved the whole thing, and when she was in middle school she joined her school’s theatre department !

this is where the majority of her english skills came into play - she would memorize the lyrics, and though she didn’t really know what they were saying after a while she began to understand some words !! so while her pronunciation is pretty good from mimicking actors, she lacks the vocab to really use it !!

so she’s really hesitant to speak in english, because if people hear her speak they think she’s a lot more fluent than she is & it lands her in awkward situations !! so she mainly just ... doesn’t do that lol !!

i can’t believe i forgot this when i first wrote this !! this is a very vital part of her character omg !! her first “acting debut” if you could call it that was for a chocolate commercial when she was 8 !! basically she was in this christmas commercial for peppermint chocolates that got on tv and everyone in her town went crazy !! she like goes and delivers these chocolates while singing jingle bells and it’s wholesome and cute and swet !! it wasn’t that big at all lol but for their small town it was, and to them she’s a sort of small celebrity for it !! i’m sure some people might remember the commercial but notlike .... her yk ?? because that was her first and last role for a while lol !!

anyways !! she’s always been self-conscious of her looks - she felt like she wasn’t pretty enough, and limited her confidence. so at 16 she got 2 part-time jobs to begin saving up money, and at 17 she went to seoul to get a nose job & jaw reduction surgery.

and things seemed to be great after that !! she was confident, gaining more friends, but the real excitement came when her mom read online about an audition for legacy and jokingly asked if she wanted to do it. 

legacy had never even be on her radar !! she had always heard her friends talk about them for idols, but she had never thought of them as a company that accepted actresses. upon reading though, she was hooked !! she begged her parents, and they originally rejected the idea because they thought it was one of her phases. however, after much persuasion, they allowed her to attend auditions !!

she never expected to get in, she wanted to do it more as an experience than anything. but to say it was a shock was an understatement !! but she was so so incredibly happy.

had a hard time adjusting initially - she was only 17, and almost right after getting there she had to spend her birthday alone since she hadn’t made any friends yet. and although she’s naturally outgoing, it was really hard for her to be social at first because she was surrounded by so many more people than she was used to !!

for the past few years nari’s been doing general idol training, though that’s about to change !! she’s significantly improved her dance skills ( which were nearly nonexistent prior to training ) & gotten a lot better at her singing !! but her heart’s still deep into acting, and she knows that she wants to do that as well as some modeling !

she still suffers a lot with her self confidence, and there’s a lot of pressure for her to do well ! in school, because she’s the first of her family to go to university, and as a trainee, because she’s risked so much for it & doesn’t want to disappoint since her family has v high expectations for her !

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 :

a little lovebug !! she’s literally so loving and accepting of everyone - definitely, someone you can come to talk out any issues, she listens & provides support, free of any judgement !! also v keen on skinship i apologize in advance

she’s come out of her shell a lot since she got to seoul, but she’s still a little shy if she doesn’t know you well or is put in a situation w a lot of people !! pls be patient with her ^^

like max, she’s got a lot of energy in that little body !! but she actually has adhd so a lot of it isn’t really by choice. it frustrates her a lot because it limits her focus & has the tendency to make her restless. it was worse when she was younger, but has gotten better as she’s gotten older and she takes medicine to keep everything in check.

she’s also got v low self-confidence, she’s never been satisfied with herself and constantly wants to get better !! despite the surgeries, she’s still got a lot of insecurities both physically and not, but keeps them bottled up a lot bc she doesn’t want to burden others !! ( i want to shake her !! ) bc of that, she takes both criticism & compliments very seriously, she’ll turn all red if someone gives her the smallest compliment but will also overanalyze & judge herself if she gets critiqued. 

in fact her surgery’s almost made her more self-conscious, as she now feels that all the opportunities granted to her are because of her looks post-surgery. the worst insult she could get was she’s only succeeding because of her looks, because she’s worked so hard on her skills and she wants them to be what takes her forward, not something she had to pay to get.

despite that, she’s the true definition of a happy virus !! on the outside, she’s almost always smiling, and when all the other stuff doesn’t get in the way, she is on the inside too !! always trying to look on the optimistic side & give people a fresh perspective !

on that note she’s v childish, and sometimes she has to remind herself w younger trainees coming in she’s being seen as more of an example and needs to be ~serious~!!

the duality is real !! in performances, sad / angry scenes are actually her specialty, and right after she’ll just spring up and smile like what’s up guys !!! a lil creepy when she goes from sobbing to giggling so she’s learned to transition a little better lmao !!

she always wanted to be a youtuber, but never got the chance, and by the time she joined legacy she wasn’t allowed to have an account. so now she has these little vlogs she does to send her parents ! they’re mainly of her getting ready, hanging out with friends, and practicing ( all out of training hours, ofc ) so she can often be found seemingly talking to herself, even though she’s really recording videos !! 

though being an idol wasn’t her initial dream, she adores the music. her love for the kpop genre has made the last few years more bearable, and girl crush concepts are her absolute favorite !! she’s been religiously keeping up w future dreams like she’s still just a fan back at home, and you’ll catch her humming all around the company building !!

in fact, prior to joining legacy, she had a fan blog for all her faves where she would provide commentary called ri raves !! it was ... a sight !! 

she’s pansexual, and leaning towards girls !! it’s something she’s really shy about sharing bc of the fear of judgment, but if she tells you know you have all her trust !!

a little spoiled tbh !! she’s got the youngest child syndrome BAD, and since she was the only girl she’s used to things being done for her !! not in the bratty way, it’s just made her a little lazy and she loooooves attention and being doted on.

don’t let her appearance fool you though !! she’s got surprising strength ... strong woman do bong soon’s not her favorite show for no reason !!! all those years of defending herself from her brothers’ teasing had to come in handy, you know ?? we’ve got a black belt in hapkido here folks !!

she’s got the jeolla-do dialect, and prior to working on her standard dialect it was veeery prominent ! it makes her say a lot of words differently than someone from seoul might, and after realizing she was one of the only ones with it she’s been trying to make her speech sound more like standard korean nowadays.

she’s taken up sewing from her mom, and especially loves embroidery !! so she always loves upcycling & spicing her outfits up !!

definitely has a unique fashion sense because of it - in addition to that she’s very frugal, and favors thrifted clothing !! she’s got a mix of vintage, chic, and artsy style !

Fosterson Week Day 2: Outside POV (Headcanons/Meta)

What does everyone in Thor and Jane’s lives think of their relationship? Here’s some headcanons and analysis. Featuring Team Jane, notable Asgardians, and a few Avengers and supporting cast circa pre-AoU.

...predictably, this got long. There wound up being a lot of people.

Team Jane

Darcy: She’s TOTALLY the captain of the ship! I’m pretty sure that’s canon. She loves their relationship. The #1 Fosterson fan.

Selvig: Selvig is overall a very cautious and traditional-minded person. In Thor 1 he tries to get Jane to follow a more conventional research path, and more to the point, he warns Jane to stay away from Thor and vice versa. So he’s probably happy that she’s happy, given that she’s like a daughter to him, and he definitely likes Thor, but he probably privately thinks the relationship is doomed, just based on the whole “human dating a Norse god” thing. Especially because he knows his Norse mythology, and therefore has some idea of the crazy shenanigans Thor got up to in his youth during the Viking age. (Shenanigans which included lots of sleeping around with women.*) So Selvig is probably happy on the outside but waiting for an inevitable breakup on the inside.

*Pulling this more from comics than from actual myth, though myth Thor does have two kids that we know of by women other than his wife. But given what Thor’s like in myth, the fact that he’s a fertility god, how much gods in general sleep around, and the fact that we have so few Norse myths actually extant, it’s not a stretch to think it was probably true in mythology as well.

Asgardians

Odin: We already know what Odin thinks- Jane belongs with Thor like “a goat belongs at a banquet table,” and Thor should be dating Sif. For all his “we are not gods” talk, Odin sure looks down on humans. (Or probably anyone who’s not Asgardian, really. With the possible exception of the Vanir.) So, not a fan, thinks Thor is wasting his time, and Jane is inconsequential aside from having an Infinity Stone hijack her body.

Frigga: From the little we saw Frigga interact with Jane, I think she definitely approves of their relationship and likes Jane. Tbh I’d think that even without having seen them interact. I feel like in Frigga’s book, anyone who could push Thor to mature the way he did in Thor 1, especially in such a short time, has already proven to be a good match for her son. Plus, Frigga is very intelligent and cunning- we know canonically that Loki specifically takes after her in that regard, and she seems to be “the power behind the throne” in her relationship with Odin- not to mention a very capable magician, which would presumably require a lot of study, so I think she would definitely consider Jane’s being a scientist a huge point in her favor.

But from the interactions we got with Jane and Frigga, it sure seems like she approves. She was kind to Jane, and she was tactful and teasing when she interrupted Thor and Jane’s moment on the balcony, instead of disapproving. Plus, with the way Frigga herself teases Odin, I think she’d find Jane standing up to Odin and insisting that all of the Asgardians (including Thor) treat her as an equal both impressive and necessary for someone dating her son. So: unlike Odin, definitely a fan of Thor and Jane dating. If we stick to canon, she unfortunately wouldn’t have had the chance to know Jane very well, but I think she certainly would’ve seen how Jane and Thor were a good match for each other.

Loki: Despite all his talk of mortals being ants to be crushed under his boot, I think Loki’s intrigued by Jane. Probably confused why Thor is so wrapped up with her, but still intrigued. There’s the famous “I like her” moment after she slaps him, and there’s also the fact that Jane is a scientist and Loki is very cerebral. Also probably realizes just like Frigga does that Jane balances Thor out well. (I’m ignoring Ragnarok here. No clue if Loki actually comments on Jane or on the relationship there, I haven’t seen it and don’t care to.)

Sif: That one shot of Sif side-eying Jane in Thor 2 wants us to think she’s pissed at Jane because she’s jealous, but I think there’s more to it. It’s canon multiple times over (both Thor movies and Agents of SHIELD) that Sif has feelings for Thor, and not only does he not like her back, he’s dating Jane, but I prefer to interpret that glare as “who are you, you’re putting Asgard in danger when I’ve sworn to guard it, and you’re also the girlfriend of the man I love, I’m angry at you for multiple reasons which are not necessarily reasonable but I will deal with my feelings later because I’m going off to fight.” 

Sif and Jane unfortunately never get to properly interact in canon, but I think that if they ever got the chance to spend some time together they’d get along well. Sif might be jealous of Jane dating Thor, but she’s also a woman who had to deal with a lot of sexism and people telling her no and trying to stop her from doing what she wanted and getting where she wanted to in life. She’d think women should stick together, not fight over a guy, even if that guy was Thor. She canonically makes friends with women especially easily, as we see in her AoS appearances. Plus, Sif has a lot of personality traits in common with Thor, so I think she’d definitely grow to like Jane fairly quickly, and that dynamic would be similar, only platonic- Sif wanting to fight things, go on adventures, and throw things around (less so than Thor did though), and Jane going “Woah, slow down there, no,” in between working non-stop, while Sif would try to get her to loosen up. (Dang it, now I want a fic of Jane and Sif hanging out together and winding up on some madcap adventure that they never tell Thor the full story of, only crazy tidbits. A noodle incident, basically. Also, just think of Sif and Darcy interacting! It would be amazing.) I think Sif would get over her jealousy eventually. She’s pretty smart, and she’d realize that Thor never made a move back when he was single, he never reciprocated her feelings, and there was no point in being jealous when Jane is her friend too. I feel like she’d eventually see how well Jane and Thor balanced each other out, though it might take her some time because of her own feelings for Thor.

Heimdall: It’s not really clear how much Heimdall is actually friends with Thor vs. how much they interact in their positions of Bifrost guardian and prince of Asgard, but either way, Heimdall can see everything. He might be concerned about the political problems Thor and Jane’s relationship might cause, and he might also worry about the whole Asgardian-dating-a-mortal thing since their lifespans are so different and that’s bound to cause Thor some heartbreak, but I think he’d definitely see how the two of them complement each other.

The Warriors Three: Highly doubt any of them care enough to have an opinion, except to notice that Thor is really sad and pensive a lot because he misses Jane. They hope he feels better soon. Hogun is really the only one who might care to have an opinion, but he’d probably reserve judgement since he saw Jane for all of 5 minutes and that’s not enough time to judge anyone.

Actually, scratch that! Volstagg is a noted family man with a ton of kids he loves dearly, he probably loves his wife a lot too and can’t imagine how it would feel to be apart from her. So he’d probably want to talk to Thor, maybe say he can sympathize, but isn’t sure how to bring it up and doesn’t want to upset his friend, so he never does. Really Fandral is the only who’s kind “eh” about the whole situation.

And then when Thor leaves for Earth to be with Jane they all probably miss him a lot.

Avengers + others

Getting wayy into headcanon territory here. Or, getting deeper into headcanon territory. But that’s what we’re here for, right? 

Basically, if Jane hung around Avengers Tower with Thor a lot, what would everyone think about them?

Tony: Thinks they’re weird. Good for each other, but weird. Thor is, well, Thor, and Jane is a tiny flannel-wearing genius scientist who’s obsessed with her work. And space. And managed to end up dating an alien, hey isn’t that quite a coincidence? 

He tries to work with Jane on some of her projects, but can’t always keep up with her since astrophysics isn’t quite in his wheelhouse, and he can’t learn everything overnight. Does enjoy having another scientist in addition to Bruce in the building though, especially one whose area of expertise is so different from his own, and from Bruce’s.

Pepper: Definitely thinks they’re cute together. Also thinks they’re a bit of a strange pairing, but not to the extent Tony does.

Rhodey: Somewhere between Tony and Pepper. Thinks they’re a bit weird, but cute. Too cute. They need to stop being so cute. Take it down a notch.

Steve: He’s pretty good friends with Thor, so he sees how happy Thor is and is happy for his friend. If Steve and Jane got to know each other I think they’d discover they have similar attitudes toward following the rules. Or rather, toward breaking them and pulling crazy stunts. And bond over that. Steve could tell her crazy war stories, and Jane could tell him about all the times she did crazy things For Science. So yeah, I think Steve thinks they’re well-matched and is happy for them both.

Bruce: Thinks they’re cute together. Is probably sad because seeing them together makes him miss Betty. Also might feel slightly awkward around Jane because of their Culver connection. **A headcanon of mine. Not actually canon, unfortunately. Though it could easily be! Just like it could easily be canon that Natasha knows Betty because she went undercover at Culver once. I just really like Betty. And I think she and Jane in particular would get along really well, and given the Culver link it’s not even a stretch to think of them being friends.

Helen Cho: Mildly sad to find out that Thor is taken, but has a major nerd moment when she meets Jane so gets over it quickly. Even though their fields are completely different, Jane revolutionized her field and is in the running for a Nobel Prize. Helen thinks that’s pretty incredible. And she makes sure to get Jane’s autograph for her son. Goes on to think Thor and Jane are cute together.

No thoughts on Clint or Natasha are coming to me at the moment, so nothing for them, sorry. They’re probably too busy with spy stuff and Avenging to really have an opinion aside from a vague “I guess I’m glad my friend is happy.” (Also, we ignore Clint having a secret family in this house, but I can’t quite decide on what exactly Clint and Natasha’s situation is in my headcanon AU, so that’s making it hard.)

Opinion on true love: Is skeptical and has a hard time accepting that a person could ever love him for himself and not for his connection/ riches. He’s extremely wary of people who vide for his affections and more than not will attempt at pushing them away. Depending on the age that he’s at when this is happening there will be various levels of success.

Opinion on love at first sight: in his own words… “Complete and utter hippogriff shit,” He thinks it’s ridiculous and is more likely to believe it was lust at first sight then love. He believes a relationship has to grow from friendship to something more to be true love as what can a relationship be if you’re not friends with the person?

How ‘Romantic’ are they?: Depends on the day and where they’re at- He’s more likely to be overly romantic in private than in public though. He’s not one to do large gestures of his love as he thinks it’s too flashy and hates having people sticking their noses into his love life. His love life is a private affair, though he will do more public things to prove a point to others if they are trying to flirt with his significant other while he’s standing right there.

Average relationship length: Is very likely to try to hold on to a relationship until the end. Will only let go if he’s aware of the emotional decay and wouldn’t want his partner to leave on bitter terms. When breaking up with a partner I feel like more times then not both parties are able to be friendly with each other after some time apart.

Any secrets that have been told Gladion will keep to the grave even if they break up and Gladion expects the same from his partner. If his secrets are revealed or his partner cheated on him then sorry buddy your own secrets will be put on blast so everyone and their mothers in France would hear about it....

Preferred non-sexual intimacy: He’s a pretty handsy guy once his partner gives the okay for it. More likely than not in public he’ll always have a hand on them wherever they go,( Hand holding, hand on their back, an arm around their waist etc. ) In private he’s a bit of a tease with his touches ( they’re feathery light and prone to make a person shiver ) and has a tendency to whisper sweet nothings into their ear as they snuggle.

Past relationships?: None in the default verse. Really his default verse is quiet sad, he’s all alone and I feel so bad... Though a lot of my default verses I don’t give my character friends- partly because if I pick a canon character to be their friend I don’t want someone else who plays that character to feel pressured into being friends with my character. The same line of thought to the romantic side of things, which is why more then not they have never dated anyone else before.

the hunger games re-read part 1

so the first time i read the hunger games i was...10? 11? somewhere in there. the last time i read them (before now) i was probably 13. i decided about a week or two ago i wanted to read them again, because it had been awhile and i knew i would get more and different things out of them now than then. 

i just finished the first book, and i wanna share some of my thoughts, contrasting them to old ones and giving new ones 

under the cut because it’s gonna be real long 

katniss 

i’d say the biggest difference in my last times reading these and now is my opinion on katniss. when i was younger i had the easy opinion that she was boring and annoyingly emotionless. but honestly that’s really not true, and i think it was in part influenced by her portrayal in the movies, which i always thought was good enough but could’ve been better, and i’d go so far to say now that her casting wasn’t great. but also, a movie in third person is very different from a book in first. 

but really what i found, katniss is not emotionless, and she’s not boring. no, she’s still not what i would consider a favorite character of mine, i don’t love her, she’s not exactly my type of character that i love. but she’s interesting, and already a fascinating example of what hardship can do to a person. emotionless was such a wild impression to have of her, but i know i wasn’t the only one that thought that. i can say i definitely do not think that now. 

she clearly says near the beginning of the book that she’s learned and taught herself to appear emotionless, so that she doesn’t betray her true feelings about the capitol and endanger herself or her family. but she isn’t emotionless at all. she feels very deeply, whether it’s ones she can identify like her love for prim, or ones she can’t, like her (growing) love for peeta. 

the most marked thing about katniss is how her entire life has been driven by this need to survive. it encompasses everything she does, everything she has always done, and overshadows almost everything else. since she was eleven years old, she’s had to provide daily for her family, constantly watching out for starvation and arrest and death by wild animals. it’s no surprise she has no idea how to feel about things outside of that. she even says after the games she doesn’t know who she is when she doesn’t have to fight for food every day anymore. i haven’t gotten there yet, but i think that same theme comes back in the beginning of catching fire. her identity has been wrapped in this survival mode, and it’s twisted her into this person that has had to suppress any and all wants of things that could interfere with surviving. she’s not emotionless, she just quite literally has not had the time or energy to think about anything else and how to process it. 

the romance 

there’s a lot of opinions surrounding this romance. frankly, at the simplest levels, it’s part of the plot. the star crossed lovers of district 12. but yeah, of course there’s more than that. this is a little hard for me to evaluate without bringing up the other books, but tbh i’ll say what i think now with this one fresh in my mind and the others more distant, and see if it changes after catching fire and mockingjay. 

anyway, since addressing the love triangle is unavoidable, i have always liked peeta and katniss as a couple more than gale and katniss. originally, i think at least 50% of why was simply because i liked peeta and i didn’t like gale. interestingly, that opinion still holds solid, but that’s not really why i like katniss and peeta better anymore. 

katniss, already in book one, is not ambivalent to peeta and she certainly does not dislike him. honestly, i used to think it wasn’t until someway through catching fire that she began to really love him (romantically). but this read through made me realize she is already starting to in this book. it’s under the surface, and definitely doesn’t take hold until catching fire, but it’s there. their connection is emphasized and shown multiple times even before they get into the games. so many times it’s made apparent that she at least cares about him, but i’d say there’s beginnings for more than that. 

the unfortunate thing is that being pushed into the whole love story thing for survival, and in front of everyone, is a really terrible environment for someone who barely understands her own emotions to be processing new ones. she’s worried about him dying, she’s incredibly hurt when she thinks he betrayed her for the careers (betrayal is a very strong word for her to choose here too, when she’s been pondering this whole time how one of them has to die). she very evidently wants him to live when she finds him by the stream. frankly, he was already dying, if she really didn’t care about him, she could have easily let him die without it even looking suspect to the audience. she’s not great at medical, which is shown a lot. 

and i mean, how many times does she say she can’t bear the idea of being without him? of him dying? yes, usually these are either quick thoughts in a tense moment, or fraught with confusion or other musings, or paired in direct contrast with gale, but they’re there. she worries about it a lot. at the very end, when peeta realizes “it was all a sham for the audience” she even says she’s not sure if it was only fake, and that she misses him already. 

to an extent, there’s bonding from trauma here, but i don’t think that’s an invalid manner of bonding? and it’s not just in and after the games that this shows either. it’s there a little bit from the start. she just has to get to know him. 

i need to restrain myself from diving too deep into what’s coming here, but i’ll say this: as the books go on, obviously a lot more happens, but i really think one massive block in the way of katniss admitting to falling in love with peeta is the fact that it’s so blatant and open in front of the capitol. katniss hates the capitol, as does most everyone in the districts. but having her whole life on display like that, forcing her out of a decision, doesn’t mean she doesn’t love him, but it is very easy to see how that would make someone (especially a private person) want to withdraw away from that relationship. and katniss, having such a difficult time with her own emotions anyway since her live has been all about survival, doesn’t need that extra barrier on everything to muddle up her emotions and make it harder for her to tell what’s real or not real (lmao). 

as for gale, cause i know some people think she clearly loves him, i can get into that more as i get back into the other two books. but from this one so far, and what i remember, a lot of the gale vs peeta stuff isn’t so much about a straight up romance love triangle, but more about what katniss’ life is vs what she wishes it could be. katniss presents herself as a cold and hard person, but she really isn’t like that. she loves soft things, she wants to live in peace, she loves rue and prim and got excited about giving a goat to her sister that she splurged on a ribbon for it. she sang with her father and only stopped when he died. she says she could never admit to her mother how much she needs her gentle touch. the life katniss is living, silent and stoic and always fighting in the woods, is not what she wants. gale, her friend that she definitely genuinely loves (platonically), is parallel to her life. the hunter, full of rage against the capitol, symbol to everything she’s known out of necessity, not want. peeta is calmer, gentler, a symbol to the life she wishes she could have. that’s why they eventually settle down in the epilogue. gale was never the romantic partner katniss needed. 

but ive gone far past book one and i’ll get back into these analysis later when catching fire and mockingjay and the epilogue are fresher in my mind. 

the rebellion 

when i first read these books, my favorite parts were the action and peeta. but man. reading this through now, the story of this rebellion and the rising of people for their justice just screams through the page. and im not even to catching fire yet. it hit me when district 12 raised the salute to katniss, but it hit me even harder when rue died and when cato died. i mean...rue’s death. how katniss covers her in flowers. sings for the first time. drawing to light the utter inhumanity of what the capitol puts children through. but this part got to me specifically: 

“I can’t stop looking at Rue, smaller than ever, a baby animal curled up in a nest of netting. I can’t bring myself to leave her like this. Past harm, but seeming utterly defenseless. To hate the boy from District 1, who also appears so vulnerable in death, seems inadequate. It’s the Capitol I hate, for doing this to all of us.” 

i can almost hear the lament in that line, “it’s the capitol i hate, for doing this to all of us.” because that’s the truth. they throw up this show, driving them to competition, to hatred, but in the end, even the careers are victims of the capitol. 

cato’s death too, for so many of the same reasons. i mean, it’s hard to read this and not feel outright repulsion at what hell the capitol is putting on these people. making the mutts, making them look like the tributes, and then the sheer agony of cato being eaten alive. when katniss and peeta decide to kill him, to relieve him of his misery, it again reveals the truth of things, behind the fancy gold curtain the capitol tries to put up in front of the games. 

“It takes a few moments to find Cato in the dim light, in the blood. Then the raw hunk of meat that used to be my enemy makes a sound, and I know where his mouth is. And I think the word he’s trying to say is please. 

Pity, not vengeance, sends my arrow flying into his skull.” 

these parts are the first set up we get for what happens later. the games are awful enough, but seeing them so raw and unhindered, from the first hand account, you can’t look away. 

i don’t know. i can’t put it into words yet, but it moves me immensely. just the story of a people oppressed for so long, revealing the horror and setting themselves free. 

other small observations

i kinda wish i had read these books again when i was 16. because 16 sounded so old when i was 10-13, but now it seems young. i would have liked to read it knowing i was the same age as katniss, picturing how that really would be. 

i also forgot cinna was not literally lenny kravitz. 

i have not read a book this fast for recreation in years, and im LIVING.

Kim finds the Extra Vote

Learning that Dylan is the reason Ellie didn't go at F9 is interesting. On one hand i definitely needed Ellie to stay because she ended up handing me an idol , but Ellie was a clearer threat than Daniel , so they're definitely closer than i anticipated.

Tribal went just as I planned! I have now created the illusion that I will have zero jury votes, and this will force so many People to take me to the end. I don’t even consider Kevin’s jury vote a “loss”!because I truly think Kevin was already going to vote for either Christina or Amy. Most likely Christina, even when it was me, him, Christina and Emma in that 4 person alliance, they always seemed too close. And she doesn’t talk to me as much as she used to so I assumed She is talking to Kevin more, but then again I could always be wrong. I’m truly just speculating here. His actions have shown me that he will ALWAYS be more loyal to them. It’s just the little things, like the fact that He always says my name last when He says “my girls”. He always says “Christina, Amy, and Adaora.” I’ve legit been doing a count of how many times He said it in this order and my count is up to 12! So NO, I DO NOT regret what I did. He was always going to pick them over me. If I had voted out Ellie, I would’ve been on the bottom of that 4 and I don’t care that Christina says differently. I do think I should’ve told Amy about it first though. Amy seems okay with the fact that I voted out Kevin, she even said that She planned on doing it in this round. Then I guess I should’ve waited? No, on second hand, I don’t think it would’ve been smart to wait. I might have gotten to the end with no blood on my hands, but I don’t think I would’ve gotten any votes because I know the jury wouldn’t have given me any credit for masterminding the whole thing. I’m seriously not getting the credit I deserve. I legit masterminded this vote and no one can say differently! Ellie was going to vote out Dylan if I hadn’t said anything (but now I’m looking back at my conversations with Emma, this relationship of Ellie and Dylan is a little suspicious, I’ll talk about it more at FTC). I think Kim seems to share my thoughts and that’s why we get along so well. But I think this move at today’s tribal will really solidify to the jury that I was lowkey the mastermind of the season. I truly think I have solidified my seat in Final 3. I can’t wait till they find out what I have cooked up for my FTC speech. Now I just have to decide who I want to sit next to me. I know there is 1 person left that I absolutely do not want sitting next to me. If my plan goes well, that Person will be gone tonight and I won’t even have to worry about it. I’m not going to say too much details about why I am voting this Person out, because I know Raffy will bring this up and might ruin the whole plan, as he always does with those messy questions He asks at tribal(still love you though Raffy). Will this plan go well? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see tonight! Thank God I have immunity this round. This tribal is about to be a bloodbath. It’s either going to come down to a rock draw or a good old fashioned blindside, and I just hope and pray that I am on the good side of it. Stay tuned y’all. This one is going to be messy! 

WELL THINGS HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY. After the chain reaction challenge, adaora flipped on us and voted Kevin out 🙃 I had a feeling it would start going this way. What I don’t get is why she doesn’t realize she’s still in the same position. She’s on the bottom of all the sides. I am actually enraged that Kevin is gone already because I love him and we still needed him as a number for another round at least. So now I’m going to use my darkness idol because I need to force the vote away from me and Amy. I’m thinking of making it between Ellie and Dylan, but I’m worried about how the votes will fall if idols are in play. Being final 6, I’m assuming people are going to play them if they have them. Ughhhh.

Ellie and Dylan freak out in their host chats. Ellie thinks things will be fine if both idols are played on both her and Dylan. Though this seems unlikely as Kim has already expressed interest in getting Ellie out.

Ellie scrambles. She frantically messages Kim to get him to respond, but he is not responding or reading the messages. She seems to lose hope, but Kim eventually does respond 15 minutes before tribal begins.

Kim becomes conflicted because he feels like he owes Ellie something for giving him the idol in the first place. If he plays it for her, he will be tanking his own game and will be seen as a goat.

Um EXCUSE ME 🤯.Christina just played the Darkness idol and I'm FLOORED. But on ths other hand, Ellie just approached me to use the idol on her , force no votes and vote out Amy . This is simultaneously the best and worst moment of this whole game because i have to cut Ellie but i know that the idol play just drew a bullseye on Christina

some Digimon-Hogwarts AU headcanons

I thought I had written these down somewhere in the past, but I can’t find them. In any case, here are some Hogwarts/Wizarding World headcanons I have for the Chosen Children. Some of these Patronuses are gonna be way too obvious, but whatever. It’s still fun to think about how they would materialize. Also I am only familiar with HP canon from the original books & films, and whatever I find on the HP wiki. I have NOT read Cursed Child or seen anything related to the Fantastic Beasts canon. So this AU is under the assumption the Chosen Children live in the British Isles and go to Hogwarts.

If anyone has any thoughts (or links to other posts about Digimon Patronuses), I’d love to hear them. I’m curious if anyone has any ideas on what kinds of happy memories might conjure their Patronuses. Also feel free to add non-Adventure Digimon characters to this list. Anyway, see under the cut:

Taichi - Gryffindor. Tyrannosaurus Patronus. Apparently in the wizarding world, extinct animal Patronuses are super rare. But Taichi’s inner courage is something special, and I think having a special Patronus fits. Like, the kind of Patronus that would end up in updated textbook saying “first recorded person with dinosaur Patronus!”. Anyway, Taichi is Gryffindor and also definitely Quidditch Captain and his position is Beater. Because he’s Captain, Taichi is always hanging out in the Prefects’ Bathroom with Yamato and Sora (who are Prefects). He’s a proponent of peace and diplomacy in the Wizarding World, and it would be interesting to know what happens in Taichi’s life that makes him want to become Minister of Magic.

Yamato - Slytherin. Grey wolf or a Siberian husky. Even though Yamato is closely associated with wolf imagery, but I think a dog’s level of friendship with humans fits Yamato’s Patronus a little more. I kind of like the idea of Yamato working to be a registered dog Animagus. what if Yamato is a werewolf JFC that’s probably too much but lol what if he’s a werewolf and he assumes his family separated him from Takeru as children because of it. Anyway, Yamato is a Slytherin. He’s cunning and independent and he also knows exactly who his true friends are. Yamato is a little possessive, but he really loves seeing his friends succeed in life along with him. Slytherin/Hufflepuff friendships are SO IMPORTANT and I think that fits nicely with Yamato’s relationships with both Sora and Jou. Yamato is a Slytherin Prefect for sure.

Sora - Hufflepuff. Phoenix. Absolutely a phoenix. It takes Sora a while to produce a corporeal Patronus, because she doubts herself and her abilities. But I think once she understands how to love herself, her phoenix Patronus is amazing and beautiful and the strongest of the Chosen Children’s. Sora is a Hufflepuff because of her patience and loyalty and her dedication to stopping fights and bringing others together. Sora is a Hufflepuff Prefect and Chaser on the Quidditch Team. She loves spending time in the owlery. It would be really interesting to see Sora come into possession of the Invisibility Cloak, and use it to help people behind the scenes. I also think Sora would be a very good shop owner in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley.

Koushiro - Ravenclaw. a Japanese rhinoceros beetle (one of my faves, seriously they’re so cool). Koushiro is that Muggle-born kid who brings tech with him to magic school, and then proceeds to figure out all the spells to make the tech actually work on Hogwarts grounds. Koushiro gets deep into the development of new spells and the integration of Muggle things into the Magical World for efficiency reasons. He gets a lot of help about understanding the magical world from Miyako, who came from a big Pureblood family. Koushiro spends a lot of time in the Room of Requirement tinkering with magical items. He also is in possession of the Marauder’s Map and has explored all the secret places in the castle.

Mimi - Hufflepuff. Hydrozoa or Anthozoa. It would be fascinating to see someone have the first plant-based Patronus, but if it does have to be an animal, Cnidarians as Patronuses I think would be so beautiful. Sea anemone movement or lack thereof would be challenging, but it’s the magical world. Also there are creatures in the Harry Potter world that probably cross lines between plant and animal tbh, so she could potentially have a magical creature as a Patronus. Anyway, Mimi is a Hufflepuff and a Chaser for the Quidditch Team along with Sora. She possesses traits of Gryffindors and Slytherins, but the hat sorted her into Hufflepuff because of her kindness and honesty. She’s initially not good at Potions, but works hard to become an advanced level Potions Master. Mimi wants to set out to prove that there’s good in everyone, and she easily befriends people from all Houses. Because of Hufflepuff’s proximity to the kitchens, she spends time there making cool recipes with Daisuke.

Jou - Hufflepuff. Narwhal or sea-goat. I know I was joking earlier about him having a school of fish as his Patronus, but I also like the idea of a sea-goat/Capricorn or a narwhal. Jou is a Hufflepuff, and his honesty and hard work are key reasons for him being Sorted as a Hufflepuff. He comes from a family of Ravenclaws and Healers. I think he might be initially ashamed of even telling his family he was sorted into Hufflepuff, but eventually he owns it. I have Headcanons about Jou being Head Boy in his Seventh Year and patrolling the halls with Yamato and Sora, who are Prefects. Jou doesn’t use the Prefects’ Bathroom unless he’s 100% sure nobody else is there to see him. His favorite place at Hogwarts is the Lake, even though he fell in while being ushered across in his First Year. Jou’s family historically works at St. Mungo’s, but Jou eventually becomes a Healer for Magical Creatures.

Takeru - Slytherin. Guinea pig or long-eared bat. Okay hear me out. I used to have a hat stall with Takeru, because on the surface he seems very Hufflepuff. I don’t personally know a lot about Slytherin tendencies, but I think of Takeru as someone who might have classic stereotypical Slytherin situations happen to him. Takeru’s mother might be a Pure Blood Slytherin who coddles him. Takeru is not Slytherin just because his family is, though I do think being in the same House as Yamato will probably cause some issues, especially if they’ve been previously separated as children. In Digimon, Takeru’s prior experiences with loss, separation, and his brother’s protectiveness forced him to become very in-tune with self preservation. Takeru doesn’t forgive easily, he hesitates, and is difficult to read. In tri., we see him becoming even more complacent in taking a back seat to everyone else because of possessiveness and a tendency to keep quite about his feelings and actions. I think a lot of this can be applied to some of JKR’s classic Slytherins. But I also think Takeru’s observation skills and keen understanding of the powers of darkness would make him a huge asset to Slytherin House in general.

Hikari - Gryffindor. Turkish angora cat or a Russian white cat. Hikari’s bravery is different from her brother’s. Taichi is courage and leadership-driven while Hikari is more chivalrous. I can imagine Hikari being similar to Hermione in wanting rights for the abused and less fortunate. Hikari eventually teaches at Hogwarts and she’s Head of Gryffindor House. I also really want her to be close friends with Daisuke in Gryffindor, because I think Digimon dropped the ball on expanding their friendship. But having the two of them in the same House in Hogwarts would be really fun.

Daisuke - Gryffindor. A European dragon or a salamander. I know there are various kinds of dragons in Harry Potter, but I’m not familiar enough with any of them to specify. Anyway, Daisuke is Gryffindor’s Seeker and has a pretty strong rivalry with literally all the Houses. He looks up to Taichi as a proponent of peace in the Wizarding World, but I think Daisuke would be more focused specifically on House Unity at Hogwarts. Daisuke gets into a ridiculous amount of trouble because he wants to be in all four Houses and thinks he should be allowed in the all the Common Rooms. Daisuke would be a good Auror, but I think his true passion is to have a restaurant in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. His favorite place is absolutely the kitchens.

Miyako - Ravenclaw. Eagle, fitting for a phenomenal Ravenclaw. It would be cool if she were like, related to Rowena Ravenclaw or something. Miyako is an eccentric Ravenclaw like Luna and she’s really passionate about being at Hogwarts in general. Miyako gets really excited about learning about other people’s interests. Miyako is an avid listener of wizarding wireless radio stations, and she aspires to host programs on the Wizarding Wireless Network. She knows where all the best acoustics are in the castle, and she spend a lot of time playing with architecture in the Room of Requirement. Miyako’s family runs a shop in Diagon Alley.

Iori - Ravenclaw. Armadillo or mole cricket. I love that the design of Digmon is a beefed-up mole cricket (can y’all tell I like bugs hahaha). Of course an armadillo might be a little more Patronus-like. Iori great at Defense Against the Dark Arts and also Disarming Charms. He’s is in Dueling Club and his second is Miyako. His father was in one of the Wizarding Wars. Iori has a very strong sense of justice, but Ravenclaws are also very accepting-- which is something Iori struggles with at first. I love the idea of Iori working to be a Wizarding World defense attorney, but also eventually gaining a position on the Wizengamot.

Ken - Slytherin. A chimera of some sort that eventually becomes a praying mantis. Insect Patronuses for everyone lmao!!!!! I think it would be scary but cool if he had a chimera Patronus of some sort though, like it started as something he couldn’t quite understand. Patronuses are conjured from happy memories, but they can change when someone experiences love or an emotional upheaval. So what if Ken’s eventually changed from a chimera to a mantis? Anyway, Ken is Slytherin’s Seeker. He spends a lot of time alone and everyone kind of assumes he’s bad news. Maybe his parents were Death Eaters or something. At some point, he starts to believe that he’s bad news and just kind of exudes angst and tells everyone to stay away him. Daisuke and Miyako aren’t having any of that nonsense, and they never stay away from him lol. Ken excels at Defense Against the Dark Arts and eventually becomes an Auror.

Meiko - Hufflepuff. Maine coon cat. Meiko has proven to be someone who’s personality draws others to befriend her or express themselves to her. Hufflepuffs are good listeners and amazing friends to anyone. Her ability to help Mimi, Sora, and Takeru open up has been so helpful to the plot of tri., and Hufflepuffs love being helpful while also being humble.
