There’s something about this, the way simply standing in the kitchen and talking, has him all over you and he can’t help it.

It had been a long week, and when you had proposed to possibly stay in tonight, Hercules was all but over the moon at the idea. He was exhausted, he couldn’t be bothered with attempting to act bummed about not going to dinner.

In fact, he rather it be at home with you, in this moment, right now.

“Do I have something on my face?”

You end your sentence and begin another with a question, to which his eyes flick up a bit to reveal that he was not meeting your eyes the entirety of that conversation.

“What? No, you don’t.”

“Then why are you looking down?”

It’s not something he could easily explain, and in truth, he would have to look down regardless, however, he was just caught staring at your lips.

“Oh? Oh—no reason, must have zoned out. What is it that we were talking about?”

He can see it in your eyes, the suspicion that still lingered, but you moved on anyways, for now.

“We were just going on about work this week, that’s all, I…”

His eyes move downwards once more, and it’s an unconscious movement. The minute your lips start moving, he can’t help it, he just wants a kiss from you so bad—

“You’re doing it again!”

“What, y/n? Doing what?”

“Stop lying, Mulligan, I know there’s something on my face that you think is so funny—“

You nudge past him, headed straight for the bathroom to see whatever he was so amused by, annoyed that he would let such a thing go on for so long.

To your surprise, there was nothing there, and in the reflection of the mirror, all you can see behind you is Hercules laughing.

“I told you, there was not a thing there.”

“Then why were you staring at my face like that?”

“Oh, no, y/n, not your face.”

The redhead comes closer to your personal space, forcing you to turn as he cages you against the sink, his hands coming on either side of your body.

“I think you know how enticing your lips are, and all I wanted was your affection.”

You can feel the heat crawl to your cheeks, but you can’t help it, the way you look up to see Hercules Mulligan staring down at you so admirably.

“You could have just asked,”

You say, hand of your own coming to his chest, forcing him to make the next move.

“I could have,”

He says, leaning closer, enough that you can see the greens in his irises as they blink at you.

“But where is the fun in that?”

“Oh, leave it to you, to make everything about fun—mmph!”

He cuts you off, and to no avail, the kiss is just as sweet as it always is, yet, there’s something a little more there.

“All that,”

You breathe, pulling away enough to catch his attention.

“For probably the laziest kiss I think you’ve ever given me.”

It’s a taste of his own medicine, surely.

You move around him, leaving him to sputter a response of some nonsense, trailing after you as you begin back towards the kitchen.

“Did I mention how tired I was? Didn’t think that would translate though…”

He’s still after you, hot on your heels as you check on dinner in the oven.

“Actions speak louder than words.”

You shrug, and he scoffs, hands coming to his hips as you won’t turn to face him.

“I am starting to think that—!”

You should just continue to tease him, yet, somehow Hercules has this thing about him that you can never leave it alone.

Taking fistfuls of his collar, you yank him down, kissing him squarely on the lips as he smiles against your mouth.

“There,”

He says, mumbling his words.

“That is what I was looking for.”

“Mhm.”

You say, gently bumping your forehead against his.

“That’s what I though.”

Ctimene Headcanons Her Relationship With Her Family (+Polites and Ares)

(+What she mainly calls them)

Mom (Anticlea): 8/10 I can see Anticlea disapproving of Ctimene being a bit of a tomboy but loves her regardless like any good (I said good, not great) mother would but is still vocal about her wishing that Ctimene would act more like a girl than a warrior. Despite this they have a good relationship from their often gossiping together, spending time together, to the times of Ctimene having a bad day only to be held in her mother’s arms like she always did for her and Odysseus since they were infants.

Father (Laërtes): 4/10 Laërtes and Ctimene used to have a good relationship before he went crazy. He would give her gifts and treasures he knew she would like, he would tell her stories of heroes, and he often carried her around. But when he was crazy he would sometimes not recognize her and treated her like a stranger until Anticlea reminded him who Ctimene was. They would have their moments but Ctimene wishes they could go back to what they once were.

Big Brother (Odysseus): Odysseus would be to Ctimene like Fergus (Merida’s father) is to Merida. He wouldn’t care that Ctimene would ‘do things a princess shouldn’t do’ if anything I feel like he would take pride in being the first person to say teach her to shoot a bow and arrow (Merida and The Challenge reference). And despite having rival war gods as their Patrons they have a more healthy sibling relationship than Ares and Athena. Let me paint you a scenario: If Odysseus were to win against a duel between them he would help her get up before ruffling her hair and instructing her what she did wrong and how she could improve. But if Ctimene were to win the duel she would cheer in excitement before doing a victory dance and saying how she was the best (classic sibling behavior). Odysseus knew that he wanted her to be happy so when he noticed that his friend Eurylochus would look at her as though she was the only person he was seeing and she would smile awkwardly at him he knew. So when his best friend asked to marry her he knew his answer not caring to hear the rest of his friend’s claim and unknowingly accepted a dowry for Ctimene marriage that he later gifted her as a wedding present. He is the number 1 Eurymene shipper. Through it all they both know that they can at least trust each other even if it feels like everything and everyone is against them.

Polites: Best friends who annoy Odysseus for fun sake’s. The number 3 Eurymene shipper. Knows what cheers her up when she’s down. Was adopted as another brother by her. Was either the flower boy (Hercules Mulligan) or Man of Honor at her wedding.

Ares: The number 2 Eurymene shipper. Even though Ctimene knew the story of Ares as a warrior and how he represented the bad parts of war she couldn’t help but admire the god for how caring he seemed to be with Aphrodite, Artemis (helping her with the Amazon warriors), Hera, and his daughters even killing a son of Poseidon because he had assaulted his daughter if anything she was shocked that not that many people in their kingdom worship him but she did. She made a little alter dedicated to the God of war and would always make sure that it was up to standards for the god. When he chose her as his champion she was ecstatic. As he trained her she began to view him as a father figure and she knew he cared for her like a daughter even if he never admitted it.

Alexander and Thomas are dating, they used to date in secret, firstly because everyone thought they hate each other, then later because they found out people have bets on them and they wanted no one to win.

Maria and Eliza are dating after Alexander introduced them to eachother. (Maria and Alexander never had any romantic connection in this AU, they're just friends that go way back and Alexander introduced Maria to everyone after she began attending the school this AU takes place in.)

Lafayette and Hercules have a bromance that is painful for everyone to watch. Basically just a ton of repressed emotions, kissing the homies goodnight and "no homo".

Aaron is in love with Alexander, it's really onesided. Alexander used to like him, but Aaron never confessed and thus missed his shot. Now he just painfully pines for him and vents everything to Theodosia, who in this AU is his online best friend.

Lafayette and Peggy are best friends. They have a Tiktok account where they go into drugstores and eat the product. It's weirdly famous.

John and Alexander are also best friends, they're literally the "dumb and dumber" trope. They used to date in 5th grade for like 2 weeks and now tease eachother mercilessly about it.

Thomas and James are (again) best friends, with them being the "you have to wear earplugs around him" and "has not spoken more than 3 sentences to anyone but Thomas unprompted" duo. They have gossip sessions together, with Thomas running the school gossip page and James picking up on a lot of gossip since people don't worry about him overhearing "because what's he gonna do?" they have a LOT of gossip.

Everyone else is friends, they're a big friendgroup but they make it work.

Alexander and Philip are brothers. Their parents force Alexander to take Philip everywhere he goes (except when he's hanging with someone one-on-one) so Philip is pretty much incorporsted into the friendgroup.

A/N: When I wrote my high school headcanons I always thought about doing one where the squad are teachers, but I never did! So I'm doing it now! Thanks to @a-schuylerr , after I saw your headcanons they inspired me to finally write this!

Let's start with Eliza, shall we?

Eliza teaches third grade

And after seeing her teach and her connection with the students, it's very clear that she was meant to do that

Her students love her

Parents love her too

They often send her emails about how much she has helped their kids

She cries every time

She makes all her students end of the school year gifts

She does the most™???

She gets sand pails and fills them with bubbles and sunglasses and a coloring book

And Alexander is like “honey, chill.”

“But Alexander a lot of them don't have anything to do in the summer!”

Alexander eventually backs off because, hey, if it makes her happy; that's all that matters

Promised herself she wouldn’t cry on the last day

John definitely teaches sixth grade

Everyone who has had him as a teacher will tell you that he's one of their favorite (if not the favorite)

Made sure all of his students have a smooth transition into middle school

One of his students was crying on the first day so he pulled them outside to talk to them

“I know it's hard, but you're going to have so much fun in middle school. We get to do so many fun things! In a few weeks, we get to do a project with M&M’s!”

And when the kid’s face lights up with excitement, he knows everything is going to be alright

Sings AND plays the guitar

When the students see his guitar case sitting in the corner of the room, they know they're in for a treat

“Mr. Laurens! Mr. Laurens! Please play for us!”

“Guys, we have to talk about order of operations first.”

But then he sees the frown on all his students faces, and he breaks

“How about...we sing a song about the order of operations.”

And they all start cheering

“But, Mr. Laurens! I don't wanna leave. I thought I did, but I'm going to miss talking to you and visiting your classroom.”

And of course, the student starts laughing and gives John one more hug

“Yes, Rachel, it is. But we also have to beat Burr.”

“Mr. Hamilton, I won't be in this class tomorrow because of the art fair.”

But secretly, he's fuming

Philip got put in Burr’s class and of course he threw a tantrum

“I don't want him in his class.”

And the secretary has to tell him the same thing she told Burr
