I think pierced ears and earrings are cool and all, but I’m not a fan of wearing earrings all the time because they allow the evil god of change and war and destruction to influence your thoughts emotions and actions and prevent the god of safety and peace and preservation from helping you and giving you extra superpowers and letting you share references to your favorite book series.

Questioner: Could you use Hemalurgy to steal Surgebinding?
Brandon Sanderson: Absolutely, you could steal Surgebinding with Hemalurgy.
*crowd laughs*
Brandon Sanderson: Booooo, you should be scared of that.

Homestuck Beta Trolls X Mistborn AU
Spoilers for Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series. This is what powers I think the beta trolls would have if they were born on Scadrial
Aradia Megido - Gold or Electrum Misting
Allomancy: ‘Augur’ (Gold: see own Past), ‘Oracle’ (Electrum: see own Future)
Hemalurgy: Cadmium (Placement Unknown: Gold or Electrum Allomancy
It is unknown what her original misting ability was, but the spike from Equius gave her the other one
Tavros Nitram - Cadmium Ferring
Feruchemy: Gasper (Cadmium: Breath), “Bloodmaker” (Gold: Health)
Hemalurgy: Gold (Between Ribs: Gold Feruchemy)
Cadmium compounder; Vriska makes fun of him for having a ‘useless ability’, but doesn’t see the potential that storing breath has. Equius provides him with healing powers to fix his legs through hemalurgy.
Sollux Captor - Born powerless
Allomancy: “Coinshot” (Steel: Push metal) “Lurcher” (Iron: Pull metal)
Hemalurgy: Steel X2 (Left and Right Orbit: Iron and Steel Allomancy)
These spikes were not given by Equius, but instead were applied in a “freak acciident” involving a “jaiilbroken beehiive”.
Karkat Vantas - Copper/Duralumin Twinborn (mutant)
Allomancy: Smoker (Copper: Hide Allomancy)
Feruchemy: Connector (Duralumin: Connection)
I’m not exactly sure why being a natural twin-born is bad in Scadrialternian society, but it is and Karkat’s gotta hide it. Also the castes follow a natural Misting-Ferring-Powerless-Misting-Ferring-Powerless pattern, and Karkat’s caste breaks that so it was completely eradicated through eugenics so im pretty sure he’s the only one.
Nepeta Leijon - Steel Ferring
Feruchemy: Steelrunner (Steel: Physical Speed)
Nothing special, just run-of-the-steel-mill feruchemy.
Kanaya Maryam - Chromium Misting
Allomancy: Leecher (Chromium: wipe allomantic reserves of target)
Her caste is supposed to be powerless, like Equius', but much like how she's a rainbow drinker in canon, she is somehow a misting in this AU. Snapped after Eridan shot her half to death with his “poison wwand strike” (toxic chromium bullets). He did not know that these bullets were Allomantically viable, and neither knew that she would be able to burn chromium. She uses this to sap Gamzee of his massive Zinc reserves, causing him to be distracted long enough for her to kill Eridan.
Terezi Pyrope - Tin misting - Tin Savant
Allomancy: Scout (Tin: Increases senses)
Terezi and Gamzee are the only Savants on the team, which forms the basis of their bond and later kismesitude on whatever this au’s equivalent of the meteor is. She snapped during a feud with Vriska, which left her blind, but she has been flaring tin for so many sweeps that she can basically assemble visual data through her other senses.
Vriska Serket - Cadmium Ferring
Feruchemy: Spinner (Cadmium: Fortune)
Hemalurgy: Left Eye (Cadmium: Destiny)
Forced Equius to use Hemalurgy on her to heal her during a feud with Terezi, but she was tapping Fortune so hard that Equius managed to select the wrong spike and gave her Destiny instead of some healing ability, which is apparently good luck according to the spiritual realm? It’s destiny to be relevant forever I guess so she can’t really die until the plot demands it. She also has Kelsier’s weird metal vision allowing her to peep into the spiritual realm just a little bit. She ended up having her arm fully amputated due to her spirit not being able to accept another spike. Equius in this au isn’t exactly a roboticist, so she won’t get a replacement arm until wayy later down the line.
Equius Zahhak - born powerless
Allomancy: Thug (Pewter: Strength)
Hemalurgy: Between ribs (Steel: Allomantic pewter)
Equius is a Hemalurgist, who was born without allomancy or feruchemy (much like the rest of his caste). He gave himself pewter to make future hemalurgy easier for him (pushing spikes into/through people is physically intensive). He has also given powers to Aradia, Tavros, and Vriska so far.
Gamzee Makara - Zinc Rioter - Zinc Savant
Allomancy: Rioter (Zinc: Riot)
As a Zinc savant, he is so used to being able to fuck with people’s emotions on a whim that he has no idea how to handle empathy without it. He has a very carefree attitude because if someone is saying/doing something he doesn’t like, he can just Allomantic them away. This also means that everyone around him naturally swell with anger and frustration, which leads to the events of the meteor. Rioters and soothers can also gain control of hemalurgic constructs, so I imagine he could take over any hemalurgy users in the party at a whim.
Eridan Ampora - Electrum “Ferring” (Full Feruchemist)
Feruchemy: Pinnacle (Electrum: Determination)
Eridan, like others in his caste, is a full feruchemist, but unlike his other caste members, he only believes that he has one ability.
Feferi Peixes - Mistborn
Allomancy: Mistborn
Feferi, like all others in her caste, is a Mistborn. The Condese is too, actually.
EDIT: Various bits of phrasing and removed the mature label (I have no idea why I wasn't able to before)

Marsh in more Era 2 appropriate clothing
ID: we see Marsh, a pale man with a shaved head, spikes embedded through tattooed eyes. He wears a long black coat that ends just above the ankles, a white buttoned shirt and red tie visible underneath. His arms are crossed, with the left slightly extended forwards, the right tucked into the jacket. His expression is neutral, if not a little focused.

Could regrowth be used to reconnect part of someone’s spirit web that’s taken out with hemalurgy?
Spoilers for the lost metal by Brandon Sanderson:
We know that hemalurgy now can take out just part of someone’s soul, so if someone had the spike, person and access to regrowth, could they reconnect their spirit web? Also could someone have a spike made of them and then somehow get the spike back and put it in themselves and have their soul back?

Note
if you were in n mistborn (either era), what power would you want? feruchemist, allomancer, twinbirn with/without compounding, hemalurgy, etc?
Oooo that's an excellent question thanks much for asking!
I've always particularly loved the feruchemists' power. Something in me has always craved to store my excesses for times of need. My extra wakefulness, my extra speed, my extra mental acuity, YES to all of it!
If I could be a full Keeper, I would be so so happy.
I know I haven't fully considered all the implications of various twinborn combos and compounding abilities but seriously. Let me make banks of physical and mental (and spiritual?? we don't know much about powers like Fortune) resources for myself for times of stress and trial, saved from times of rest and plenty.

Mistborn Game
Now, think about it. Who DOESN’T want a Mistborn game? So I was thinking. What about a roguelite? One where you choose the class at the start.
At the start, you can only choose Allomancer Mistings. It only includes the base 8 metals from the beginning of the series.
Coinshots: Are able to use their currency as weapons, and push on enemies that have metal on them. They can also hover for a short period of time. Lurchers: Pull on metal, rather than push. They can pull enemies towards them, or pull objects to use as weapons. Thugs: Basic melee class, capable of hitting very hard.  Tineyes: While it may seem useless in gameplay, a tineye sees secrets better as is better at stealth, as they can avoid enemies altogether. Great for players wishing to avoid combat. Rioters: Along with tineyes, these mistings are capable of rioting specific emotions in enemies in order to get their way.  Soothers: Same with Rioters, except opposite.
Smokers and Seekers: Both of these mistings are useful only in multiplayer, as you can work with another misting to hide or seek out allomancy. However, you can choose it at the start of a singleplayer game, because of a specific mechanic I have yet to explain.
Mistborn: A very, very rare chance at the start of the game, you may find a bead of Lerasium. This unlocks all your metals, allowing you to play as a Mistborn.
Metals: Drop as you defeat enemies. This is your resource. You can sometimes find metal that isn’t your specialty, which you can trade or share with other players.
Feruchemy: You unlock feruchemical powers upon your first completion of the main game. (1 Successful run)
Hemalurgy: Hemalurgical spikes are rare items you can find in enemies. You can use them, however, there are immense caveats: -You lose part of your max health -If placed incorrectly (a %) You may suffer terrible side effects, including a death. -You can only have a max of three spikes before suffering consequences. Perhaps in a multiplayer game, one can create hemalurgical spikes with enemies, but that is another idea entirely. The key is to accurately portray metallic arts in a fun way without being too overwhelming.  The artstyle would be simple but beautiful. I’m thinking a top down or 2D game, or something similar to Hades, isometric. I’d get Dragonsteel themselves to bring artists in, and the game studio would work to mimic the style.
DLCs would incorporate era 2 metals, along with Aluminum and Duralumin. Also incorporate era 2 enemies, Trellian enemies, modernized weapons. A DLC incoporating single player stories where you play as Kelsier, Vin, The Crew, Sazed, etc.
Let me know what you think!

Intelligence Intercept Title: 'Series Choir' Source Location: Unknown, Neutral Space
[The recording starts.]
[The rhythm of curiosity can be heard in the background as someone else speaks. The consistent rustling of papers can be heard.]
First of all, I have to admit that Lurin has been extremely useful. I thank the council for their aide. [The last words are spoken in a rough imitation of the rhythm of Praise. The rhythm in the background changes to Appreciation momentarily, the rhythm in the background stops as another speaker speaks.]
The changes to the brains and vocal cords makes Choristers as alien to Singers as Singers are alien to Humans. [Spoken to Confidence.]
Maybe to you.
It is fascinating honestly- [Spoken to Reprimand.]
I've listened to several audio recordings Isso left in this facility. The mixing of rhythms was a unique experience to hear, they do sound like four harmonious voices speaking at once, each voice just happens to be attuned to a different rhythm. T- [Spoken to Excitement which changes to Irritation as the other speaker speaks.]
It sounds like a quartet that sing the same lyrics but can't agree on the song to me. It makes me very uncomfortable to listen to.
As I was saying, you did agree to let me speak in the reports. [Spoken to Annoyance.]
Sorry.
He seems to have changed to audio recordings sporadically throughout this process. [Spoken to Curiosity.]
It is obvious that he is significantly damaged and that his spren have been twisted through those recordings. [Spoken to the Terrors.]
It is through miscellaneous comments he makes throughout those recordings that we know more specific numbers for those that perished during his experiments. [Spoken to the Lost.]
In particular, he's been responsible for hundreds, even thousands of Parshendi disappearances across the Cosmere over the decades this 'project' was actively being worked on. Unfortunately, he never detailed how exactly he was able to accomplish this while avoiding detection. [Spoken to the Terrors.]
[Humming to Peace can be heard along with the rustling of clothes.]
We learned that many of the individualistic changes he induced seems to have been primarily aesthetic rather than purely functional. Which follows along well with his prior Hemalurgic constructs. [Spoken to Resolve.]
A storming deranged mind. He doesn't do any of this with a goal in mind beyond 'I can'. [Humming to Resignation can be heard along with the background comment.]
I have to agree, it has been hypothesized that he has an initial idea but no goal for the idea when he begins to work on them… [Spoken to Tension.]
I recommend a small group try to figure out what he may become fascinated with. If we can catch him before he does something else, its a win for us. If he stays in his hole for the rest of time because nothing else catches his attention, that's also a win I argue.
[Humming to Consideration can be heard in the background.]
The next few reports will be what we've compiled on particular 'True Surge Choristers'. We have some specifics on personality, appearance, and 'basal surge adaptations'.
[Humming to Excitement can be heard in the background. It suddenly changes to Consolation abruptly. By the end of the dialogue it changes to Anticipation.]
[The recording ends.]

fun game for you all.
suppose u were a twin born and had access to 3 hemalurgic spikes of ur choice, what abilities would you want?
side note: hemalurgy cannot give compounding
id be a duralumin twinborn with allomantic pewter, steel, and electrum spikes
feruchemical duralumin would be great as not only could i essentially make myself invisible by being so damn forgettable, i could also immediately make friends with some of the most powerful people in the worlds due to compounding. plus i always wanted to learn a new language, this counts right?
the pewter and steel r mainly to stay alive and get around.
and the electrum is there so i can duralumin boost it to see into the spiritual realm for a good second. who knows what id find out with that. plus seeing ur immediate future can also be helpful, especially when flying around with steel.
side question: what does duralumin boosted gold do??
