Arcane Nonsense ideas fics not sure....
Arcane season one Jayvik idea.
So Jayce, Viktor and Heimerdinger are celebrating some hextech type triumph with a few drinks. They are getting a bit buzzed with the in universe of sparkling wine. When Heimerdinger suggests they do shots (also he can really knock it back) it’s some Noxian (of course) liquor it’s the color of honey and smells like rubbing alcohol mixed with honey (not mead though) . Heinerdinger gets louder and more cheerful when he drinks, Viktor gets spacy, sloppy, but like contented, Jayce well he gets more reckless and kinds thinks he can drink the whole bar dry he wants to climb the walls literally. They are five deep and singing some stupid drinking song when Viktor turns green and throws up, then chuckles and falls over. That’s when they are asked to leave and Heimdinger who is the most ‘sober acting’ sighs. He gets Jayce to carry Viktor back to rooms, and says yo turn him on his side… also stay with him. And Jayvce spends the night sleeping next to Viktor sometimes in the middle of the night he forgets and is spooning the other man.
Arcane idea season 2 Zaundads fic tell no one.
It was after their first night together, when they were lying in each other’s arms exhausted and happy. Vander was on the edge of sleep when he saw Silco take out a small trinket from his nightstand look at it in the candle’s flickering light. Silco was running his finger over it. Vander knew he couldn’t see this, couldn’t know this. So he turned over and pretended to sleep. The next day Silco woke early, to shave and get ready for the day in the mine. Vander lazed in bed waiting ..until he was sure his lover wasn’t paying attention. He carefully opened the drawer and pulled out the object. It was a tarnished locket, made of some cheap shiny metal that long since lost it’s polish. He opened it, there was a lock of dark hair on the right side and on the left an old tintype of a fancy looking young woman with curls set in an old fashioned style. And then Silco was there snatching it out of Vander’s hand, cursing and glaring. He shoved Vander and sat down on the bed in a huff.
“I was a fool to trust you,” Silco said. “You were trying to steal it from me.”
“Whoa, no easy there,” Vander said tracing his hand over Silco’s undershirt back, he could feel the other man’s heart thumping like a mad drum. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I saw you looking at it and I got curious. Who was she?”
In truth the locket wouldn’t be worth much, at pawn shop. Whatever it was made of was cheap and it was old. Silco turned his hair falling over his face. “Couldn’t you tell? She was my mother.”
Vander hadn’t had time to examine the locket, but now he sat up and next to Silco. Of course the Silco didn’t trust him he’d had a suspicious nature since they met in childhood (not to mention they’d met shortly after Silco had been jumped and robbed by older kids). But now Silco held the locket out to Vander and he looked at the woman really looked: she was beautiful, and she had the same nose as Silco, the same smile and the same dark hair.
Vander brushed the hair off Silco’s face and said gently: “Tell me about her.”
Silco pulled away his lips curled in a snarl: “I don’t really her remember …much. “
Vander knew this wasn’t true but he wouldn’t push it. Maybe he’d never know, he wished it didn’t matter but it did, it was another thing he didn’t know about the man who he… loved? Yes, he did love Silco.
Vander sighed: “Fine, keep your secrets.”
He got off the bed and walked over to the wash basin to get ready for the mines.
The dirt from the mines, seemed to get under you skin in every crack and cranny a person had. The foreman a massive hulking thing, a race bigger ten even Vander didn’t allow slacking. so when Silco had a coughing fit at the end of his shift Vander and distracted the foreman by singing the bawdiest song from the lanes as loud as he could: Felicia, and Connol joined and soon everyone was singing it, before the Foreman yelled at them, It was a good distraction. Silco had stopped coughing and was back at work when the foreman glanced is way. He looked at Silco winked and smiled, Silco gave faint half smile back. Afterwards after they cleaned up in at a bathhouse (not that kind), in one of the various drinking holes in Zaun half in their cups maybe more then half.
“That was stupid Vander, we’ve both seen the foreman beat men to tar for less,” Silco said.
“I could handle him,” Vander said. “You couldn’t.”
“Hmmmph,” Silco shifted. “I can take more than you think.”
“Ah, really?” Vander teased. “Show me.”
Silco leaned over and they kissed full on the lips. “When you get back to my rooms I will.”
About an hour or so after making the mattress dance and the bed frame groan, as they lay shuddering in the aftermath, Silco began to cough again retching and shaking as he covered his mouth and ran for the basin.
“Are you alright?” Vander asked sitting up.
Silco looked up and said: “Yes, it’s just the dust from that place gets inside of you. It’ll kill me one day, like it killed her.”
“Who?” Vander asked.
“Mother,” Silco sighed.
“Tell me about her,” Vander asked again.
“If I do, if I tell you what I remember will you stop pestering me?” Silco said. “If I tell you will you tell no one else?”
“Yes,” Vander said.
“I was only eight when she died, when they came to take me from the hovel we’d ended up in to the orphanage. I escaped though, and that’s when those urchins—“ Silco began
“—I chased them off,” Vander said.
“You did, but before you could they took the locket,” Silco said. “Back then it looked like it was worth something other the sentimental value. The first time I had money, I tracked it down to a pawn shop and got it back.”
“Who was she though, she looks like…” Vander began.
“Her name or what they called her was Yinalika, she was plucked from the streets of Zaun, because of her voice, trained in opera and when she started coughing up blood they put her back in Zaun with her bastard, me,” Silco said.
“What about your father?” Vander asked. “Didn’t he—?””
“Ah,” Silco said. “I don’t know exactly which of her keepers was my father, there were about four of five of them, she was using all of them of course. She never told me though, she told me to call them all Daddy, because they’d give us so much more support.”
“Aaaah,” Vander trailed off. “
“She was vain and arrogant, frivolous and manipulative. She didn’t deserve to be used, discarded and die like she did. I still can recall her the way her perfume smell sometimes in dreams I can hear her doing vocal warm ups.” Silco continued. “But I can’t recall… what she sounded like when she spoke, it was a lifetime ago.”
“If she was living the good life in Piltover, keepers and money and nice things… what happened?” Vander asked.
“It wasn’t the opera didn’t actually give us that much, you see. She was never an opera star, she always was played the minor roles, she was a soubrette not a diva. We were dependent on the rich men who ‘kept’ her.” Silco said. “When she finally got a main part the stress killed her eating her from the inside out.”
“Consumption?” Vander hazarded.
“Of course, do keep up,” Silco said. “Now this is what I recall, she was cast as some important role, she was constantly practicing with her instructor pushing herself more and more. No time to amuse her keepers, no time to even look at me… She was spending her money to try and fight off the sickness, working to hard to practice for her big role. In the end when she fainted, blood clots still clinging to her chin. They took away the role, our keepers went away, so did the nice life. What I really recall about her, is seeing her lying in bed, drugged to the gills, sick and dying, in some dingy rooming house in Zaun.”
“Why didn’t you go back to Piltover? Find your Dad, I dunno blackmail him?” Vander asked.
“Because of you, the Overcity didn’t want me or my mum. It’s only been twelve years but they’ve forgotten her utterly. But you and Zaun took me in. I belong here and I belong by your side.” Silco said.
“Thank you.” Vander said. “I promise you, you won’t die like she did Silco, you are stronger than that.”
“Promise?” Silco asked with a teasing smile.
“Yeah, your a tough sly thing, don’t worry about it,” Vander said taking Silco in his arms and kissing him all over his face.

Ekko going through the anomaly: Best timeline, he's happy with Powder as his girlfriend, Benzo is alive, Vander is alive, Milo and Claggor are alive, all their mistakes are erased (except for the one mistake that allowed this world to be), he gets to dance with and kiss the love of his life, for one night, everything is perfect.
Jayce going through the anomaly: Literally everything is shit. Everyone is dead, the entire city is a nuclear wasteland, there are fucking creepy robots, he eats some super poisonous mushroom and trips balls, he breaks his leg and nearly dies of sepsis, he finds his own dead body.
Heimerdinger going through the anomaly: Finally no more responsibilities. Just banjo and sweet, sweet retirement.

So are you telling me that after Jayce got into the elite 6 chefs, known as the council, Viktor grabbed a steak knife and injected grease into his bones, trying to turn himself into a cyborg burger to somehow increase his productivity now that he runs their restaurant alone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@cirilee posted an AU where shimmer and the last drop are competing fast food joints and I’ve had it on my mind since I saw it. I imagine the Academy would be a prestigious culinary school that sees fast food restaurants as falling short of culinary excellence. Caitlyn drops by when she needs a break from classes to eat good food and definitely not just to see the hot waitress. Also head chef Jayce and his kitchen partner Viktor 🥂

BED CHEM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: viktor x reader // you and mel walk down the hallways of piltover university when suddenly, you encounter two men trying to break into a professor’s laboratory.
AUTHORS NOTE: hiii!! so sorry i haven’t posted in a while. season 2 of arcane broke my heart, but it was so cool. anyway, im working on an ashley and ada writing atm, but pls be patient. this is 1.2k words and something i randomly thought of because of a pinterest comment under a photo of viktor
WARNINGS: trying to break into a room, reader is interpreted as feminine because of a long dress and heels, reader is a councilor, not proofread
Tumblr media
as a new member of the piltover council, you’ve been the busiest you’d been in your life. constant laws to vote on and tedious, frequent meetings could make you feel annoyed at times. however, you made a new friend, who you’ve become extremely close with in the past couple of years.
you and mel knew each other when you were younger, just never hung out as much as you do now. despite not having strong connections to one another at a young age, it opposes how you are now. she’s invited you to her nightly scouting at piltover university.
it isn’t an interesting activity to do, but you love hanging out with mel. during these times when you explore the large university for hours, you find much time to converse with the noblewoman. sometimes you and she hold your giggles after telling the other a joke, not wanting to alert a trespasser.
this night doesn’t seem to be unlike all the others. you walk down the decorated halls of piltover university with a flashlight in hand. your flowy black dress hangs low to your ankles, and your and mel’s heels clack against the tile floor.
you and mel whisper amongst one another, she asks, “have you had your eye on anyone lately?” smirking softly and side-eyeing you.
you gasp and your cheeks flush, “‘course not, mel! i just… have not found the right person yet, i guess.” your smile diminishes.
your heels continue to clack against the ground, and you feel a cold breeze on your bare arms and leg, exposed due to the slit dress. you shiver and rub your hand on your arm, keeping the flashlight in front of you.
there’s a moment of silence between you two when mel hesitatingly speaks up, “maybe jayce has a friend you will feel… attracted to.”
“eh, i’ll just not do much. maybe let the universe pull me to the right person instead, yeah? i would hate to waste my time on the wrong person—“
she places her arm in front of you, squinting and giving you a look. you tilt your head before you begin to hear voices, and you quietly turn your flashlight off. mel keeps hers on, and the two of you tip-toe closer to the noise. it seems to be close to heimerdinger’s office, if you remember the university layout correctly.
“so far, so good—“ a man with a thick accent whispers, as if trying to hide his actions.
mel turns the flashlight on, and you cross your arms. the two men shield their eyes, and you recognize one as jayce talis. you tilt your head at the sight of the other man with brown hair and a defined jawline, who is turning a key into the door labeled ‘pf. heimdinger.’
mel taunts, “hmm. willing to risk exile for your endeavor. that’s quite the conviction.”
“councilor!” jayce interrupts, “what a surprise to see you, huh?”
then, the mysterious man comes up with an excuse, “wait a minute, this isn’t my bedroom. how could i have…”
jayce stands up from his knees and pleads with you and mel, “please. we can prove that it works.”
mel comes up with a contradiction as fast as lightning, she hums, “hmm. you couldn’t do so earlier today, how is tonight any different?”
“we figured out how to stabilize it.” the pale man replies.
he eyes are sharp toward the noblewoman until his gaze travels to you. his eyes widen and his cheeks flush, he can feel himself becoming warmer and warmer. you can tell he’s observing you and your actions, as well as your attire.
god, you’re beautiful.
he doesn’t say many words over the next couple of seconds, but you smile at him, warming his heart quickly. he’s knocked out of his mind when mel speaks.
“you’re the professor’s assistant,” she refers to the man with the keys.
jayce disagrees, “no, he’s my new partner.”
you nervously chime in, sticking close to mel, “even if you manage to prove your theory, the other council members would destroy it.”
“heimerdinger will recognize the potential, miss l/n,” the handsome man says.
he knows your name!
mel scoffs, and she’s not having any of their crap, “he already does. it scares him. it scares them all.”
“what about you, miss l/n? you are on the council, correct?” jayce’s partner asks. his eyebrows furrow in curiosity, and your heart melts at his eyebrows twitching upwards.
you ponder for a few seconds, staring at him and slickly moving closer to the man. you respond, taking a few moments to think of how to form a sentence in front of such an attractive guy, “i think any worthwhile venture includes risk. and please, call me y/n.”
you hear whistling from the hallway, and you give mel a glance that makes her infer, ‘we need to make a decision quickly.’
“councilors, this technology, it’s real. and no matter what happens here, it’s going to change our world. we should be the ones to lead it. piltover, the land of progress, equality, innovation. i know it sounds impossible, but when have we ever let that stop us? please, just give us a chance.” jayce explains.
you glance at mel, and you assume she’s left the decision to you. you reply with a sigh, “one night, you two. i want to see in the morning how you have progressed your technology.”
“thank you, councilor l/n,” the one in the white tie thanks.
you quietly nod and smile, waving to them as mel gently pulls your arm and turns the flashlight off. she goes on to distract and talk to harold, the enforcer. as you step down the hall, you glance behind you to hardly see the nameless man staring at you back. he then gets pulled into the room by jayce, who seems urgent to work on the high-end technology.
as councilor medarda’s flashlight flicks off, and you and mel walk away, viktor’s still standing near the entrance of the laboratory. he sees a shine in your eyes even through the dark hallway, however, he doesn’t know if you can see him as well.
he doesn’t even notice jayce has unlocked the door until he gets pulled in by the taller man.
“you were ogling at councilor l/n.” jayce grins, teasing his partner.
“i was not. that would be unprofessional and inappropriate. plus, we are here to work on hextech,” he attempts to change the subject, “we should get working on it.”
“i’ll work with mel to set you two up.” jayce objects, rolling his eyes and chuckling at the slender figure.
viktor couldn’t pass up that opportunity.
“who’s the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent?” you ask mel, walking away from the enforcer.
she grins at you, showing her perfect teeth, “that was viktor. and from what i can tell, he’s interested in you.”
as you continue to walk down the hallway, leaving the university to travel toward your bedroom, you go to sleep with a happy feeling in your chest.

Thinking about what's going wrong with Arcane s2
I have not finished s2 yet (still need to finish act 3 but basically got all the major spoilers). I feel like a big problem with this season and why the Z vs P conflict fizzled out is that so many characters are simply not in the that narrative anymore. Especially since they all had interesting stories to explore in regards to it. And if they are apart of the plot line, the things that would make things more interesting are simply ignored.
Taken from the narrative
Heimdinger: the founder of the city realising that the society he built ain't shit and that he failed Zaun by not helping to uplift and protect them (instead of just picking out a pupil from Zaun and calling it a day). All that Talk about how destructive magic could be in the wrong hands while realising he build a society filled with those exact wrong hands because of his inaction. Him actually putting in the work to change and dismantle those structures and belief systems that he allowed to grow in the first place
Jace: He goes against his own morals once again to build weapons for Caitlyn and her team. But we get none of the introspection or the regret that should have gone with it. Why because he is off in an alternative reality fighting for his life. He finds out that Hextech is poisoning Ekko's tree and there's nothing more to that conversation?? If something had gone wrong with the core it could have destroyed Zaun? Something could have happened that could have disabled or killed many others like it did with Viktor. But let's gloss over it. Him reconciling with his actions as a councilor??? That kid really was just a blip in his life i guess.
Viktor: a big problem I feel with Viktor's character is that he can feel very removed from Zaun at times. Like we never got to see his horror about Hextech being used against his people. We never got to know about any family or how he actually felt about being resurrected. What his plan was for Zaun beyond making a little commune. A huge part of that is also because they barely let this man have meaningful interactions with anyone in s2 besides ghost Sky and Jace. Vi, Jinx, Vander and Isha going to his commune could have been a possibility for that. Because even though I do believe that Vander and him did not know each other personally, I don't think he would not have known of him. Also we barely hear him talk meaningfully about his identity as a Zaunite in Piltover
Ekko (and the firelights in general): In my opinion the biggest snub. The others character arcs were mostly about other things in s1 (piltover politics, hextech etc.) but Ekko's whole motivation was to protect his ppl from both the enforcers and Silco. However we didn't get to see him deal with the rise of enforcers in the undercity or Sevika being the one to try and unite Zaun. We didn't get to see him grapple with the fact that Vi became an enforcer or that he was wrong to place his trust in Caitlyn. And even though I love how ep7 is highlighting his good qualities I wish they were explored in his timeline. Him being there would have also allowed for more spotlights for the firelights and Zaunites in general. None of the other people in the cast (Except for Vander) are as involved with regular people in Zaun then he was. It makes Zaun feel less complex and lived in beyond the visuals.
Mel: Considering that they are setting up her mother as the true big bad (which flattened the Z vs P conflict + general bad writing surrounding ambessa which i won't discuss now), it would have been nice to have her be able to react. Like in the beginning of the season we get it a little bit with Mel using spies to figure out her mother's plans. We could have had her realise that Piltover is not fundamentally different from Noxus because of how easy it was for her mother to take over. Only that the violence they dish out is different between the 2 cities. We could have had her sit that in both cases she is part of the oppressive class and that she was only acting out of self interest rather than actually caring about these issues. Instead of her being Kidnapped to get powers, let her finish the story arch that had been set up for her in s1.
Underexplored
Sevika (And Jinx): her involvement with Silco and how that is seen by Zaunites that are not chembarons. Ppl being unwilling to trust or listen to Sevika pleading for united Zaun when she was apart of Silco's operations make sense. Silco brought shimmer into Zaun. Ekko says that a lot of the firelights joined because of how it ruined their lives. Sevika having to struggle with her role in it and how it ultimately makes it harder for the to reach her goal would have been satisfying! Also her showing up after episode 4 would have been nice in general. Also same with ekko, she was the only one who was reaching out and communicating with different groups of Zaun. She and Ekko were windows into Zaun society that they just kept closed for some reason.
Vi: Just everything man.... her trauma, her choosing to be an enforcer, her alcoholism... her relationship with Jinx/powder, her guilt, her role as protector who seems to be failing no matter what she does. All kinda of flushed through the drains for caitvi to be able to exist (yes i dislike caitvi, no i also don''t really care for jayvik or timebomb and i am also a lesbian).
Jinx: I thinks she has been done quite well so far but I have heard for how her arch ends and it is just bad..... also wished they explored Isha more and what Vander coming back would mean for Jinx
Caitlyn: wish they would actually put the responsibility of her actions onto her instead of Ambessa/Jinx killing her mom. Also the fact it was never addressed that even in s1 she was microagressive as fuck towards Zaunites. Yes she eventually saw the need for independence (after talking to Ekko mind you) but does that mean anything if when she was in power due was actively making things worse for Zaun. She could have started working kn redeeming herself but the fact that the narrative/the writers don't want to put the full blame on her just makes that idea seem laughable
Tbh a lot of it has to do with the fact that the writers didn't let characters interact with each other for long periods of time or deal with the consequences of their actions but hey at least the coplesbians fucked and the scientists had their madoka magica moment

The main reason why I want Mel Medarda to live is because she is my fave, and because I love her.
The secondary reason why I want Mel to live is because the Undercity - and with it, Piltover - blowing up is first and foremost, her fault.
Our introduction with Mel starts by Elora telling us that she's the wealthiest person in Piltover, and we can see the influence of that - through her political and social power. While there are a variety of seats on the Council, it's made very clear that Mel holds more cards here. It's her who we see making moves to get people on her side, it's her who does notable alliance and coalition building, and it's her who the other council leaders follow. We see a few notable votes throughout the show - to pull Jayce into the council, to eject Heimdinger from it, and to vote for Zaun's independence, and in each of those votes Mel's either the one to prompt it, or Jayce is and the rest of the council members follow after she votes. When we speak of the council as a political entity, you have to speak of Mel Medarda. It's through convincing her that Jayce can ultimately bring the council on his side.
And so, the council failing Zaun is her failure. The council ignoring Zaun is her ignorance. The council allowing for the oppression of this people is her allowing for the oppression of these people. Not through malice, but simply because nobody is moved to make things better - because the status quo has enriched her, and the council, and Piltover, and why make changes if it's getting you what you want? The only other person who has something close to her power is Jayce, and he's largely coming into politics as a newcomer. She actually has the ability to do something, and she hasn't. Especially across the years bridging the time skip - it's clear that it's her who fashioned Jayce into being the kind of celebrity that he's becomes, and it's very likely that her political capital would've risen with his technology. And yet, she's done nothing.
Ambessa herself makes that point - that she's let the problem of the Undercity fester for too long. And to Mel's credit, she does look. Once the Undercity starts eating Piltover, she starts, finally, giving concessions. Once it rises to a moral point that she does understand, that balancing act between peace and violence, she finally makes the right choice. Only, its far too late, because she confused peace for goodness, for okayness, when really all that meant was that the violence was away from her eyes. She should have to confront that failure head on - that for all her diplomacy, she missed the place where she actually could have done the most good, because she was too busy lining her own pockets. For all her dread at becoming her mother, in many ways she already embodies her, just draped in gold.
She should have to confront that, the enormity of it. She should have to try to make it right.

The culmination of Heimdinger and Ekko’s arcs with eachother was truly perfect.
Ekko had always focused on the present, on the unnamed soldier who is delegated to being an numbered cog in the machine. Who were filled with life, and yet never acknowledged by history.
In contrast, Heimdinger has always been focused on the bigger picture. He built Piltover to be the “City of Progress”. He wanted it be a statue, a square that people would flock to see. In his ambition, he let the Undercity happen. For centuries, he saw the division of Piltover and he casted it aside as “petty human squabbles”. In his persuit for a legacy, he loses himself.
It is only when he meets Ekko that he realizes the errors of his ways. He is cast out by his community and forced to interact with the cogs of the machine he deemed irrelevant. He sees a genius, a young bright boy who has been done wrong by those in power. By him, and yet Ekko never forgets what matters.
Ekko focuses on everyone. No one is a cog in a machine and everyone has the capacity for a great life without needing to be great. He builds his inventions not for remembrance but to facilitate a better life for his community.
Episode 7 perfectly captured that arc so perfectly and why change is so important. Heimdinger was starting to change but he was falling back into his old ways, focusing on the bigger picture, on the years before Ekko reminded of the details, of the minuscule.
It is not accidental that Ekko focused on the seconds given by the Arcane, whereas Heimdinger focused on the future, on the great.
Ekko on contrasts learns to hold onto the past, that progress comes at a cost of what once was. That to live in the moment is one of the greatest gifts someone can experience.
Heimdinger’s arc is about waking up to the errors of his way. That Zaun is not the product of a few bad people, but a system that feed on corruption and oppression. That his obsession to preserve his perspective of the world and his legacy caused suffering. His incapacity to change was his flaw, even if it was rooted in good intentions.
It within Ekko’s humanity and Heimdinger regains his. And that is what makes Heimdinger’s finale actions so perfect. He choses Ekko over the ability to see the fruits of his labour, he choses to send Ekko home rather to see his legacy. He finally realized that everyone and every moment is important, rather than just ones that facilitate his dreams and his ambitions.
His arc is the fulfillment of his words in season one, “He realized that nothing he could accomplish, could compare to the contributions of his students.”

ARCANE Rant
Arcane s2 ending is underwhelming because the show was slowly building up to it (the biggest disappointment of the century)
U can feel it slowly letting go of the class issues that s1 was based on ( arguably the reason why the show was appealing to begin with) foe what seems to be no reason. Cause it seemed that they could've done better with presenting the themes that were already there in the subtext of it all or atleast it was that way for s1 and the first act(s?)
By the 3rd act, it's like they make it a point to stray away from what the show is supposed to be about and maybe that's why there's a lot of distraction going on (*caughs * fan service). In the last act there's just so many loose endings and key points are missing, ones that are usually provided to the whatcher bethey offer needed insight like how jayce decided to touch the arcane or what happened with ekko and jinx when he stopped her. This is a pattern that also shows in s1 and the other acts but the avoidance of clearing things up or providing insight on character's behaviors in this case isn't to get us to think about it and interpret it on our own instead it leaves a feelibg of just accept it for now that's how thongs came to be, and it doesn't even explain it later(would've beena great move tbh).
This lack of insight makes it easier to just accept other shifts that don't actually make sense like the main shift of victor's character when he gave up on doing good for the ppl the moment jayce attacked him and honestly not only did jayce have no business doing that, victor also had no reason to change his ideology for only that. The attack harmed not only him but also the ones connected to him so it does make sense that instead of healing he decided to eliminate all danger but even then it wouldn't make sense for him to agree to forge an army and pick sides for a political war something he aims to demolish.
And then it's not even about his conquest anymore and we get a fairly easy and rushed destruction of the black flower and then back to Victor.... Victor changes his ways and they disappear leaving everyone behind to what? Move on? As if the story is about how humans weren't ready for a progress that fast andbnow they can learn from their mistakes and take their time, as if that insane leap of advancement both biological and technical isn't just a by product of an environment manufactured by classism that pressured and cornered ppl into this extreme reality.
At the end, nothing has changed from the beginning of s1, the counsel just added a physical chair for the undercity instead of the invisible one that silco did hold at some point.
The truth is zaun isn't even a separate nation anymore it's still the undercity who now has a representative in the counsel.
War didn't even unite the ppl in fear and grief because except for the enforcers the fighters were mostly from zaun, this is dangerous because it paints a picture where the unpriveleged lot are fighting someone else's battles while the priveleged (root cause if said battle) get to flee and only comeback when everything is settled to look all bigoted and give side eyes to the representative of the unpriveleged (im looking at u short grandma).
My point is what is the show trying to say by ignoring the core issue, leaving us in the dark abt a character's motivations, and jumping to war with spiritual robots meanwhile the counsel is full of classist cowards leading a nation they fled when shit got bloody and letting the war criminal from the uptown have a happy ever after, her crimes don't even get mentioned while jinx is told that no amount lf help she offers can undo the harm she caused. It's all intentional, the show even ends with a hidden message that heimdinger was correct from thr beginning for restricting research or at least it felt that way.

i gotta ask tho, did jayce just ditch ekko and heimdinger to the tender mercies of the corrupt hextech/wild rune realm????? didn't for one moment stop to think "hey should i figure how to get them out of there?"?? No thoughts just "Must Kill My Ex, Jesus"????

arcane season 2 so far. i'm halfway through ep5
jinx: reluctant sign of the rebellion with accidentally acquired child who will definitely tragically die (katniss everdeen)
vi: changing sides every two minutes and doing fight club i guess
caitlyn: being the world's most lukewarm dictator but at least she has pants now
jayce: dumped by his boyfriend who died, came back due to his tireless efforts, and then lost the human ability to feel things. disappeared, i think? we've seen him for maybe like 15-20 minutes of screentime in almost 5 episodes
viktor: lost his humanity, dumped his boyfriend, became some kind of god-machine-cult leader. even less screentime than jayce
silco: still dead
ekko: friends with the lorax
heimdinger: speaks for the trees
sevinka: on arm #3 i think. has some great comedy moments this season
creepy mad scientist guy who isn't viktor or silco: also is doing this for his daughter, apparently. just like vander and silco and marcus and ambessa (?) and probably others. we might be overdoing this plot point, can someone just be evil for like corporate greed or because they're legitimately bigoted or something?
ambessa: arranged a terrorist attack so she could seize control of the military. technically she's evil because Family apparently, but her actions still suck pretty bad, so i appreciate that she's in the plot and locked tf in
mel: taken by the gloom hands from tears of the kingdom
some randos who are clearly league characters that they had to get in there: dating caitlyn for some reason, supporting vi's fight club, being a lizard, being an unhinged robot cat with donald trump hair, accepted by the other characters as if they've always been there even though they stick out like unnecessary sore thumbs
vander: alive dog

Cut to one late night in the lab, Viktor can't seem to get the hexcore to cooperate and Jayce just had to imply they should probably go to bed soon:
"OH FUCK ME HARD, JAYCE, COULD YOU SHUT UP BEFORE MY CANE FINDS ITS WAY UP YOUR TIGHT ASS."
Jayce runs away, pissing himself. Thank you
One little thing I love about Arcane is that these girls are saying fuck and shit left and right no hesitation. Even arguably the kindest character in the show says fuck I think.

some thoughts about arcane season 2 act 3
Let me start this with the notion that yes, some of arcane 2 is rushed, but I also understand why they did things the way they did. And I loved every second nonetheless. Personally I think the "rushed plot" showed pretty well how the characters are also rushing to the end themselves.
In my opinion they used every second the could, even if I would never say no to more episodes.
But a season 3 would have meant that they spent a decade and a half on just a handful of characters, I think a company like Riot is not exactly thrilled about something like that (they didn't even believe in arcane and the animators and writers had to put their career on the line. It worked out okay for them, but never forget that Riot only really cares about PROFIT)
Let's also not forget that a single animator spent a week on average for "just" four seconds. That is insane dedication to their craft and they deserve every single praise they can get!!! I didn't know it was possible, but arcane season 2 made the animation even MORE beautiful. I can't wait to watch a frame by frame analysis on youtube.
now onto the rambles (sorry, thoughts are all over the place):
Heimdinger is not dead. Yordles don't really die, they just return to their birth place (the spirit realm/bandle city) also technicially only alt-verse Heimerdinger's body was obliterated (meaning that his conciousness might still be out there somewhere just without a body??)
I don't think Jinx is dead, the show hints at her escaping through the vents. *If* she is dead, I honestly don't hate it either. I just really love angst and the thought that either sister won't get their happy end unless the other sister dies is just a perfect angsty greek-tragedy and will drive me insane for the next few months! That said there is no way Jinx is gone. She escaped through the vents and fled with the airship! I think she realized that as it is now, Vi will never stop sacrificing things for her, that is why she has to leave. Maybe one day they can become sisters again.
when we first see Jayce eat in episode 7 I thought he cut off his damaged leg and ate it 💀
the alt universe has no hextech, meaning that Jayce likely killed himself in that universe. I'm not sure if Viktor would still be alive, I don't think his illness is cureable without hextech.
alt-verse Zaundads has my heart <3. I love it when extremly tragic series make their own happy/what-if story xD.
The timebomb interactions and their kiss was so sweet. I feel kinda bad that alt-verse Ekko won't remember any of that. And that main-verse Ekko couldn't tell his own Powder/Jinx how much he loved her.
I'm kind of sad that we didn't get to see much of Orianna (her design is STUNNING though) but they are possibly setting her up for whatever gets adapted next in the lol universe.
Jayik: gay love saves the world once again. If I had a nickel everytime this happens,
whatever Jayvik have going on is somehow gayer than the lesbian sex scene change my mind.
Speaking of lesbians, Cait with an eyepatch makes me feel things, I would forgive all her war crimes to if I were Vi.
Mel is a goddess. As she deserves. Someone please give her a hug though. I'm hoping she will play a bigger role in the next series! She seems to be on her way to Noxus, so I'm sure this is not the last of her we see!
That "sorceress" is LeBlanc, I think now it's too obvious to deny that wasn't her.
I NEED someone to write a spiderverse x arcane crossover at this point. The timetravel/universe travel is a perfect set up! I would kill to read an Ekko & Miles & Gwen & Hobie interaction.
What I'm hoping for the shows post-arcane season 2:
It's confirmed that Fortiche & Riot are already working on the next few projects, I'm expecting Noxus & Ionia to be the next focus. It could be a great way to introduce us non-lol players to the world.
I also really want (to know) more about Orianna, Mel and the Black Rose/LeBlanc!

loud bangs awake you from your sleep. you jump up, feeling startled by the intense noise. you grumble from your comfortable bed and give in, throwing your luxury covers off your body.
cool air quickly envelopes your frame, and you swing your legs over the side of your bed, laying your feet on the cold floor. you shiver at the feeling, then slip on your fuzzy slippers, meant for walking during cold mornings.
enforcers must be at the place of disturbance. you wouldn’t know what to do if they aren’t already dealing with the problem. after picking up a coat from a hanger, you quickly walk to the noise.
unpredictably, the enforcers were the individuals causing the disruption. professor heimerdinger stands in the middle of the two men dressed in dark blue. you stand at a safe distance, watching the enforcers pound on the door, observing the moment.
loud buzzing and crackling is heard from inside the lab, and blue light shines through the cracks of the door. you remember what you said to the two men just a couple of hours ago. hopefully, jayce and viktor haven’t done anything too dangerous.
the double door suddenly blasts open, and pieces of wood fly in various directions. a bright, blue ray of light explodes in the professor and enforcers’ way. you hide behind a nearby wall and cover your head, expecting the worst. but when hardly any destruction occurs, you peek around the wall.
the yordle warns, “excuse me, underfoot,” causing the enforcers to unshield their faces and stare in awe at the sight in front of them.
viewing their stances, you walk behind them and take a peek into the laboratory. viktor and jayce float around a blue ball of energy. jayce chuckles and taps a gadget into the ball of energy, and it goes right through. viktor catches it from the other side and begins giggling like a child as he makes swimming motions.
the professor stares up at the sight. his ears droop and he undoubtedly states, “you’ve actually done it.” his ears flop up, and he fidgets with his hands, “but just because it can be done, doesn’t mean…” he looks up, “will you please stop hovering?”
the cute brunette continues to move in the air, he jokes, “i’m not sure how to do that, sir.”
you giggle, placing a hand over your mouth, and the enforcers cautiously turn around. you place your finger to your mouth, silently commanding them to say nothing about your appearance.
the professor nervously adds, “this is not what piltover’s future looks like, my dear boys.” he looks behind him, a worried expression on his face, as if he’s about to break down in tears. his eyes meet yours, and he jumps, “ah! councilor l/n, what are you doing here… at this time? it’s late, you should be sleeping!”
you quickly come up with an excuse, “i apologize, professor. i couldn’t rest, so i was planning to take a trip to the garden. i thought, perhaps it would calm my nerves.”
you smile at the enforcers, and they clear their way to make a path for you. you peer into the inside of the room, eyes widening in shock. you mumble, “woah,” the sight is one of the most beautiful you’ve ever seen.
nothing could compare to this moment. this moment will be remembered in history. the blue light shines all across the room, and people float for the first time with nothing to stand on! best of all, viktor and jayce will get accreditation for this work and dedication to their hextech project.
you lock eyes with viktor just to realize his eyes were on you the whole time. warmth somehow reaches your body in the cold academy, and you still manage to ask, “how did you do this so quickly?”
“we…” viktor starts answering, not knowing how to continue without sounding stupid in front of a well-known figure and beautiful woman, “we cranked it,” he chuckles along with jayce.
you have no idea what the hell he’s talking about, but damn, does he look attractive. his eye bags are dark under his eyes. you suppose he spends most of his night working on scientific research, and his messy hair flows in the air, most likely ruining his hair from the explosion.
his white vest has stains on it, maybe from drinking tea to keep himself awake. but viktor appears as if he’s close to passing out, so you ask, “are you aware of how to get down, gentlemen?”
jayce looks at his partner, probably trying to check in with him, “maybe turn the dial to the left?”
viktor shrugs and states, “worth a shot.”
you walk to the dial and ask the two men if you’re near the correct one. you slowly turn it left, anxiously waiting for something terrible to happen, or for one of them to command you to halt your movement.
the two brunettes suddenly drop at a quick speed, yelling at the unexpected scene. you move at lightning speed, running to the closest man, as the two enforcers run to the other. you half-catch the taller, lean man, his feet on the ground as you hold his waist for security.
he stares at you for a few moments as his face flushes, he mumbles, “thank you, councilor l/n.” and smiles at you, eyes darting from you to his cane, lying on the ground.
his arm lays around your shoulder, and you bring him close to a desk he can lean on. without a word, you step over to his handmade cane and pick up the delicate material, placing it in his hand. he thanks you once again.
you come up with an idea and grin to yourself. you politely ask, “are you two free tomorrow? i would like to talk about the future of piltover and what you have planned for what you will do with the hextech next.”
jayce brushes off his pants and places his hand on his chin before smirking, “actually! i have to uhh—“ he stutters, attempting to come up with an excuse, “i’m hanging out with caitlyn. i’m afraid i can’t make it, councilor l/n.”
you drown and politely reword your sentence, “perhaps we can reschedule a time so you can come—“
“oh, no! that isn’t necessary, please do not worry about it. i’m sure viktor can tell me everything you’ll talk about with him.” jayce winks at the shorter brunette. he gives him a sharp glare back.
“i am free of events tomorrow. where should we meet? and at what time, councilor?” viktor asks, trying to appear formal and proper in front of you.
“how about we discuss it at celine’s around twelve? it’s just six blocks past the academy.”
he smiles and looks down at you, “that would be perfect,” his freckles stand out to you so much.
you take a moment to remember his face before sighing, “it’s late. we should all be going to bed.”
many agrees and chuckles at shears from around you, and you smile and wave at the three scientists and two enforcers. as you step through the hallway, you jump and cheer, pumping your fist in the air. you practically get to go on a date with viktor tomorrow!
once he and jayce are the only individuals in the room, viktor leans on the desk and places his head in his hands, groaning. he isn’t ready to talk to you one-on-one yet.
jayce rolls his eyes, “what’s wrong? i just gave you a pass to be alone with her— for hours. that’s the perfect time to get to know her.”
“what am i supposed to talk about, jayce? you know i’m not the best at conversations or communicating, what makes you think i can talk to a person i’m interested in?” he complains, gently hitting his head with his wrist.
“it’ll come to you when you’re ready.”
“that isn’t helpful at all,” viktor side eyes the taller man, who just shrugs and tells him goodnight.
as viktor walks back to his room, even as he brushes his teeth, puts on his sleep clothes, all he can think about is impressing you tomorrow. maybe jayce is right, maybe he just doesn’t know how he’d talk to you now.

Thoughts on Arcane Season 2 Episode 7
Spoilers below.
Well my soul is crushed so…here we go.
Ayyy Ekko.
So he did also end up getting fucked up by the wild rune.
Though he doesn’t seem to know who he is or what’s going on. Is that Jinx? Are we in some fake rune world?
Oh this is definitely a fake world. Maybe even the world Ekko wishes he was in. Where nothing went wrong.
Heimdinger! And of course he knows what’s up love him. Parallel dimensions, so this world does exist it’s just not there’s.
Interesting.
1128 days?! That’s at least 3 years. And he spent all that time here waiting for Ekko. Hemindinger my dude!
Yeah Jayce is…..yeah.
Wait Jayce is normal now? So was that a different Jayce that went after Viktor?
Oh that’s scary.
Can’t be what? What is this place?
Wow so Vi’s dead, Powders alive and Jinx was never born.
Poor Ekko had to hurt seeing all this. Hemindingers got bars though.
Yeah guys I don’t need to see this world’s Powder crying over Vi’s dead body.
Love that Ekko ends up back at the tree.
Oh shit oh fuck what are these things?! Jayce where are you?
Aww I love Hemindinger being Ekko’s mentor.
Or maybe this is just to explain what happened to Jayce?
Aww Ekko making the mural for Powder. And getting her in on it yess! Man Jayce really went to the worst place compared to these guys.
And they figured out time travel hell yeah. Ayyy Powder looks great.
“I’ve never seen you give up on anything, Ekko” sobbing he really did need this. And yeah Ekko you’re more resilient than you think.
And using his words against him.
Oh this is bittersweet.
That’s one hell of an upgrade man.
Ohhh so Ekko got to go to a parallel world where everything was okay and Jayce had to see the end of everything and go back to fix his mistakes.
How is that fair?
Well I guess that’s why he went after Viktor. You guys couldn’t have talked first?
Hemindinger what are you doing? Oh he’s staying so Ekko can go. Fuck…and Powder had to witness it.
At least her Ekko came back.
