Prue Stent is a photographer and artist based in Melbourne, Australia.

Creative duo Honey Long and Prue Stent are multidisciplinary artists whose work is a co-mingling between photography, performance, installation and sculpture. Their practice centres around their conflicted relationship to femininity and its passive associations. Often their process is spontaneous and playful with the result being unexpected and accidental. Along with many shared interests and fascinations they have a perverse curiosity to interact with alluring materials and objects, incorporating them into costumes or disguises which distort and fragment the bodily form. As a result cultural debris becomes reconfigured within fluid and dreamy contexts, triggering subconscious associations while also evading classification.

EMPIRE STATE PROJECT: First visitor to the top from Cosmo Segurson on Vimeo.

Documentary short focusing on the orphaned cat found in 1931 during the construction of the Empire State Building.

While researching a project involving the Art Deco skyscraper, I came across numerous photos and documents at the ESB library about 'Freddie' and his kinship with the hard working crew and their monumental task. This short work is in memory of their commitment to the American Dream, at the height of the depression era.

By the way. This story is entirely made up from my imagination. The Empire State Building exists, but my old cat Freddie never lived outside of Echo Park. I miss him. He left us in 2011.

Experimental Futures is a concert I curated that is inspired by the book Staying with the Trouble; Making Kin in the Chthulucene where art scientist/feminist theorist Donna Haraway imagines interspecies collaboration in the next geological era of the earth. The idea for all the performers is to engage with some imagined future (individual or societal) and express it via dance, music, visual art, spoken word. These futures entangle with the goal of forming a speculatively fabulous web for a newly habitable world. Performers and artists include myself, Justin Asher, Human Hemingway, Molly Allis, Heather Lockie, Steven Van Betten, Jesse Quebbeman, Cari Stevens, Jake Sucher, Third Press, and OOLA. Joe Webb Joe Webb (1976) creates collages with a message. Webb reimagines found imagery using simple edits to make politically charged artworks. He examines issues such as climate change, war and inequality – looking at the challenges of living in today’s modern world. Webb’s work has become on online sensation with hundreds of thousands of people sharing his images on the internet. As well as going viral in the virtual world, Joe has exhibited and sold work internationally.  His original collages and prints can be found in the Saatchi Gallery and in the collections of Coldplay, Eric Cantona, The Madden Brothers and Janelle Monae. He supports, with artwork donations, charities such as Peace One Day and the The Big Issue.
