Season 17 Event

Nothing really of a spoilery nature, but it's interesting to me what this cast listing reveals. particularly the ones I've boxed in. I mean, we knew Amlee was on set earlier, so I'm not sure what kinds of story lines to expect this season that would include Mallory and Jake. Whatever they may be, I have to say I always liked Mallory's character, even when she was still a young chatterbox who drove Jack crazy.

The countdown is on for the Season 17 premiere on Sunday, October 1st. The release of Heartland's new season is less than a month away! Here's a behind-the-scenes clip of our poster photo shoot shot live, on location, by Calgary-based photographer Leah Hennel.

Leah's work will be well known to the Heartland fans as her photographs stand-in for Jessica's. The first time we saw Leah's work was in Season 16, episode 6, when Jessica puts on a gallery of her work in New York City. Leah shot Amber Marshall, Shaun Johnston, Michelle Morgan and Chris Potter at a location near the Dude Ranch during golden hour. The light could not have been better.
