La modalidad de premiación en los Google Play Awards consiste en elegir la mejor aplicación según varios criterios, desde la calidad de las aplicaciones por factores de diseño, usabilidad, utilidad y rendimiento técnico, sin olvidar obviamente elegir la mejor aplicación por categoría, entiéndase esto por videojuegos, utilidades, audio, video, etc.

En esta selección de aplicaciones no cualquiera puede participar, ya que debe tener calificación perfecta, o sea de 5 estrellas, para poder postular a algo, punto bastante cuestionable cuando llegamos a hablar de las aplicaciones de la tienda de Android, donde se sabe que muchos desarrolladores cuando ven que una aplicación esta baja en calificaciones, sacan una actualización estratégicamente -que la mayoría de las veces no mejora nada- para que se resetee la calificación y con unos pocos usuarios que comenten llegan a las 5 estrellas.

DEP 2019: Das sind die Preisträger

Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Blautopf VR und Pathway sind nur einige der Preisträger der gestrigen Verleihung des Deutschen Entwicklerpreises 2019. Gleich vier Preise staubte Anno 1800 von Blue Byte/Ubisoft ab. 

Der große Gewinner des Abends ist Anno 1800: Im Rahmen einer großen Gala in der Flora Köln wurde der Deutsche Entwicklerpreis (DEP) 2019 vergeben. In insgesamt 16 Kategorien wurden entsprechende Preisträger ausgezeichnet, im Vorfeld hatte eine Expertenjury von über 100 Mitgliedern die Gewinner aus einer Reihe von Nominierungen ermittelt.

Anno 1800 sicherte sich dabei gleich vier Preise und mit dem “besten deutschen Spiel” auch gleich den wichtigsten. Darüber hinaus gewann man den Preis für das beste Spieldesign, den besten Sound und die beste Grafik. Anno 1800 konnte sich hier gegen namhafte Konkurrenz durchsetzen, darunter The Surge 2 oder Tropico 6. Für Ubisoft war der Reigen der Preise damit noch nicht beendet, denn man gewann unter anderem noch den Most-Wanted-Preis für Die Siedler. Als bestes Studio wurde Yager ausgezeichnet, als bester Publisher Headup. Die beste Story bot das Indiespiel Pathway von Robotality.

Hintergrund: DEP

Der Deutsche Entwicklerpreis wird bereits seit 2004 verliehen. Veranstalter ist die Aruba Events GmbH, ein Tochterunternehmen der COMPUTEC MEDIA GMBH. Geschäftsführer Christian Müller bilanziert: “Als führendes Medienhaus für Gaming- und IT-Communities in Deutschland und langjähriger Partner der Entwicklerszene ist es uns ein wichtiges Anliegen, mit dem Deutschen Entwicklerpreis herausragende Computerspiele und ihre Entwickler*innen zu ehren. Die enorme Qualität und Innovationskraft der prämierten Spiele in diesem Jahr und die große Akzeptanz des Preises in der Games-Branche beflügeln uns, den Deutschen Entwicklerpreis weiter auszubauen. Ich gratuliere allen diesjährigen Gewinnerinnen und Gewinnern.”
