Introducing another major character: Nezha!

For the AU I thought it’d be interesting to play with the design of Nezha having a younger appearance, since he is supposed to be the god of children and I’ve seen other medias do this too.

Nezha plays a major role in the development of the celestial realm and politics after Wukong ascends the role, admittedly this does not happen from the beginning. Nezha is allowed a role in the court around 400 years after the ascension of the throne due to his previous ties to the jade emperor and his court, his loyalty was strong until he realized he could help more from the inside and that his previous role on the court had not let him do much other than being a glorified guard.

He respects Wukong’s strength but he is not yet trustful of his abilities as the ruler of all realms, so he demands to be his assistant, to keep him on track and on the matters that are important. Although, once he does start working for him he does figure out that Wukong is not as bad as ruler as he was expecting, politically, his court is full of people who are experts in their own matters and provide a variety of discussion and solutions during meetings, and while he though Wukong had stayed the same Monkey King he knew from the wars and mayhem, he had grown as a ruler and cared about the realms in ways that Nezha had not seen other celestials had.

Nezha is closed off and even hostile for a while at the beginning, but he does start mellowing out around the time that Macaque is expecting, being the god of children he can’t help but be protective and clingy, leading to the Six-eared Macaque having a kid following him around like a duckling.

Also I find it really funny that Nezha was the first to find out Macaque was pregnant even before he did

Nezha is not shocked because Macaque is expecting, no he thinks he’d be a good parent,

He’s more in shock that Wukong procreated.

Bonus:

(Nezha becomes so close to the royal family that there is an inside joke in the court that he is the Emperor’s eldest child. Much to Nezha and Wukong’s dismay and Macaque’s amusement.

Though Nico’s admittedly tempted to reiterate on how Diluc is far from alright, regardless of what the other man might claim, he chooses to hold his tongue for the time being. He’s not one for holding back on such statements most of the time, but he has bigger things to worry about right now than calling the redheaded man out on the severity of his wounds. The blonde feels like he’s under observation - as if Diluc’s eyes, which look like they could sear a hole through him if the nobleman wanted to, were trying to look into him. Nico’s heard that the heir to the Ragnvindr empire can be intense, but seeing such an expression for himself is quite different from listening in on idle gossip.

Nico hears the breath that he’d been holding in whisper from between his lips as Diluc says that he hasn’t any intention of harming the blonde - but while the statement is a comfort, the frail man knows better than to simply trust the bar owner’s word. For all he knows, Diluc might just want him to lower his guard. As the redhead continues, however, that possibility becomes increasingly less likely as a bombshell of information is dropped on him rather suddenly. The Darknight Hero. Of course Nico knows the name - everyone in Mondstadt, from the youngest of children to the most elderly residents, had heard the rumors. The Knights of Favonius had been trying to learn the identity of their city’s vigilante for years, but they’d come up empty handed time and time again.

Here Nico was though, getting this information in the back of the Dawn Winery. He isn’t sure what he’d been expecting to learn, but this certainly isn’t it, and green eyes widen slightly in a show of surprise. Goodness, he hadn’t anticipated that his night out would grow to be so complex.

“I know too much,” he finally says after several moments of silence, the information taking a fair bit of time to kick in, “simply by knowing you - is that it?” Lowering himself down to sit as the weight of what he’s learned sinks in, Nico’s foot begins to tap against the floor, his gaze dropping as he finds himself deep in thought. “Or… they might assume that I’m privy to more information than I actually am?”

As if his situation hadn’t already been complicated all on its own. “I certainly can’t… afford that. Granted, I doubt that anyone would want to end up in the hands of the Fatui or the Abyss Order.” It could put Dorothea in danger, and he certainly didn’t want that - not to mention that he wouldn’t be able to find any of the answers that he sought about himself, if he were being held prisoner somewhere. “I wasn’t intending to tell anyone regardless, but clearly it would be utterly foolish of me to reveal your secret, knowing those details. Still, I’m… still not certain that I can give you much more than my word - unless you have some other proposition, at least?”

He's heard THAT line before, many a time in the past ( and he has learned, because of it, not to play the ' promise to forget ' game anymore. ) Trust, for Diluc Ragnvindr, is hard to come by, especially so when it deals with matters this extreme and personal. It goes far beyond simply having a secret, second life that CHALLENGES the daylight law upholders of Mondstadt. His identity as the DARKNIGHT HERO hadn't merely sprouted, one day, from a sudden need to protect the city and do more than the mess of Favonius Knights could, but rather, had evolved from a once happy, innocent boy who had faced too much trauma in his then short life.

To know the DARKNIGHT was to know DILUC, and very, very few could say they did. Not beyond what he showed afront business partners and bar patrons.

" I'm fine, " he's quick to mumble, letting the dull sting SETTLE before speaking again, now that he'd found a somewhat manageable position to sink into. " It's more an inconvenience and slight irritation, if anything. " After all, he's faced far, far worse in the past almost decade or so. A re-opened wound may as well be the equivalent of a papercut, at this point. " Not . . . that I don't appreciate your concern. " 'Tis different when it isn't Adelinde expressing worry for him, but oft he must remind himself that the world, truly, isn't as dark and heinous as it seems sometimes.

For a moment, Diluc simply observes Nico with sharpened eyes of forged flames. One can tell a lot about a person merely by looking at them--- but, in that same regard, it is easy to be FOOLED by both words and appearance, if one is not careful. In a moment like this, it's crucial he refrains from making a mistake that grave, lest his entire life as he knows it comes crashing at his feet.

" You needn't worry--- I'm not going to pursue you or cause you HARM if you let my secret slip. I'm not that type of person. " And what GOOD would it do ? For the secret of the Darknight Hero's identity to be revealed and spread, only for the very person who started the rumor fire to suddenly, tragically, perish or disappear ? Everything Diluc had fought for would mean nothing, and the thought alone of being seen as corrupt or cruel by the people he seeks to protect is a nightmare he'd rather not dwell on.

" I'll start with what is likely the easiest secret: I'm the Darknight Hero . . . however, the wound that re-opened is not from anything that happened during my usual Mondstadt patrols. " Nay, it went far beyond playing ' savior ' to the sleeping citizens he served drinks and food to. There's a few moments of silence before said Darknight Hero continues, but his gaze has fallen to the wrappings 'round his midsection. " . . . I'm also actively pursuing both the Abyss Order and the Fatui. That's what makes this entire situation difficult, at least for me . . . and for you, as well, if you let any of this slip. "

Young Justice's Luck Strikes Again

Batman sighs deeply and rubs a temple.

It was meant to be a simple space mission, nothing to big. Just a quick check and report back.

Only problem is the ones he would normally assign this to are all dealing with other things so he had to ask... Someone else...

Like...

The ones that were once Young Justice.

Look, they were the only only ones with a spaceship (How? He still had no idea, Tim keeps saying 'What happens in YJ, stays in YJ') that could go far out without problems, and even though he knew putting the old YJ team together might be a bad idea, he trusted them especially Red Robin to be just a bit more professional at least. Since they were no longer teens but young adults now.

And again it was meant to just be a quick mission.

Nothing big.

So...

So why was Young Justice currently wrangling two floating black haired toddlers, one with blue eyes while the other one had red, and a black haired baby.

Turns out they found these children floating in space on their way back from their mission, cryo sleeping in a ice block huddled and cuddled together around a well loved teddybear with a teal headband on its head.

Or they were sleeping in cryo sleep until Superboy brought the ice block in and the thing melted allowing the children to wake up.

Batman could feel a headache coming on when he noticed just how... attached Young Justice was becoming to the children as well and knew it would be a miracle if he could get them to separate from the children.
