What if I'm the Monster?
(Based on Monster from Epic the Musical, it's incredible, give it a listen)
So! For the past few years, Danny has done nothing but defend Amity Park from Agressive Ghosts, Lunatic Ghost Hunters, and the GIW, all on his own. But no matter what he does, he is always seen as a Monster by the people of the town, just for being a Ghost.
Over the years he has lost a lot.
His Best Friend. His Mentor. His Mom.
Tucker was caught by the GIW and arrested for helping Phantom, and was never heard from again. His Parents still visit the Mayor's office for any word of him, but no one has any idea what happened.
Danny and Clockwork had a falling out after Danny refused to go down his intended path. He wanted to live his own life, one not predetermined by a Time God. Clockwork had told him that he would regret the decision, and left.
And his Mom had died after discovering his secret. She had surprisingly accepted him, but then the GIW had tried to capture him and she decided to defend him, and she got caught in the crossfire.
Every time Danny tried defending the people of Amity Park, he was vilified and hated even more. He would never be a Hero in their eyes, he was no Justice League. He had lost so much just defending them, but he couldn't bring himself to resent them, they didn't know what they were doing, it was how they were supposed to think. He still needed to defend them.
But he could no longer do so acting as the Hero.
Being a Hero stopped him from raiding the base that he assumed Tucker was being held in. Being a Hero led him to disagreeing with Clockworks advice. Being a Hero led to his Mom's death.
So he would be The Monster, instead.

I was in the middle of brainstorming with Madra (nickname i have for @gliphyartfan ) and as I was rambling with her I just had a thought.
How many years would pass before they meet Ava?
Cuz like, if you're gonna look at canon, they're just ACQUAINTANCES so far. They all met slowly by pairs, and as they go along together, they slowly met the rest, until eventually the start of the LU comic finally happens.
But even then, even with the unknown amount of time they all spent with their partners before they met the rest of the group we know them by now, none of them know what had happened to the other during their journeys. I'm talking about very intimate and personal stuff. They could joke some references about it but the full deets? Zipped, locked in a chest buried to the ground 12 feet under.
They're still trying to adjust as they all go on this quest they have. Theyre treading carefully about pasts and secrets and doing their best to be all buddy buddy without risking accidentally setting off sensitive things within the group. Heck, they'd rather not reveal any of them at all.
Why am I mentioning this? Cuz in fanon, we write the chain as if they're very, very close. It's like a lot of time has passed and they all went through a lot of stuff together that theyre all brotherly bonding and everything. Altho ofc this could vary between AUs and stories, the general, majority of what ive seen is that the chain are much closer already than they supposedly are in canon. And this extends to the (yandere) LU x reader community (i think).
I will admit I myself have gotten used to the chain being really close, that theyre like a family and share each other's burdens. So sometimes reading the comic gives me a raincheck cuz theyre still at the acquaintance stages IHSRIUGFRTH That said it's not bad if theyre closer in fanon. I like them when theyre closer. And honestly it's preferrable if they are closer and not acquaintances. Cuz my content will eventually go on some yandere harem themes, one heavily inspired by @gliphyartfan and @yanderelinkeduniverse kind of yandere harem as the chain. Where basically the chain would be united to protect and love darling and put aside their rivalries and whatnot for her sake. If I followed canon and theyre just acquaintances, theyre less likely to eventually unite cuz they dont know these people that well yet, and worse it may destroy any possible future family brotherly bonds they would have. So yeah to make this yandere harem work they gotta at least be closer than canon.
So since I made my decision, it begs the question I just asked earlier, but maybe I should word it better: how much time would have to pass enough for the chain to get close enough before they reach Ava?
It MAYBE would sound like a stretch, but I'm GUESSING it'll be 2-3 or 4-5 years.
Bcs think about it; in canon theyre only acquaintances so far and they JUST learned about Twilight being Wolfie. Legend being a bunny, Four being able to split, those were revealed to only one individual. Theres still secrets not revealed yet and especially big revelations like Sky possibly blaming himself for being the reason the heroes, like him, will be living forever to save Hyrule but suffer a life of loneliness and loss and possibly trauma, or that Time also caused another timeline where he failed to save Hyrule.
Do you think all of the secrets, all of the trenches that every hero has went through, would all of that happen in one year? With how well guarded they are and how theyd rather not talk about their secrets almost forever? No soul to reveal it to?? Well some probs wants to share a lil but the fact of the matter is, is that theyre gonna be vulnerable and theyre gonna open up. But its gonna be a while so really, they cant know each other well enough in one year. In one year, at most, it would be the times during the start of LU Comic and so far and it's not enough I think that they would be sharing burdens and pain and whatnot. Theyre comfy with each other, they cant rlly be that intimate or close about trauma or deep personal secrets just yet. They throw little references of secrets here and there, but the full details are locked in.
So If theyre gonna know each other, like how fanon interprets them in majority of the fanfics, or in the PROCESS of getting to know each other, itll take at least 2-3 years. But it could also possibly more than that. They have a whole package of secrets and things they went through they carry around individually, and there might be some secrets that will never get to be revealed in the end. 2-3 years are the LEAST amount of years that gives them the time to know enough secrets like Legend being a bunny, Sky blaming himself and so on. Not all of the revelations or secrets will be revealed, heck said secrets I used as examples may not BE the kind of secrets that will be revealed during those times or, maybe even AFTER several years have passed they still randomly learn things about the other heroes, but at least in 2-3 years its enough for them to know or have some chunks of ideas of what some or most the rest went through in their adventure. If 2-3 is not enough it could go 4-5 years depending on how much I want to be already revealed KHSIUHKUSUHFK
SO, basically, what's gonna happen is that, the chain will be going for about 2-3 years before they meet Ava. Meaning, they're gonna be aged up.
Which would mean everyone would be in their early twenties or mid twenties, and Wind.. might reach tweens??? I forgot the term IUDHGIUSGHFISF
Hold on lemme do the subject that i dont rlly like: math.
Im just gonna google search their INITIAL ages during the start or end of their adventures: starting of with: Wars!
Wars is 17 in Hyrule warriors, roughly at least.
Now here's the thing: Jojo had a Q&A, and the one of the questions she answered she revealed that there was some time that had passed after their adventure BEFORE they went onto their quest with the rest of the chain. And she said Wars finished his adventure 6-7 years ago. So 17 + 6 or 7, hes about 23 to 24 in canon
Then we add the years in the reboot or Ava's story in LU, AKA: the time he spent w the chain before meeting Ava, which is lets say plus 3: my calcu says he'll be 26 or 27
Twilight is also roughly 17 but finished his adventure 4-5 years ago, so he should be about: 21 or 22 in LU Canon.
Plus 3 in reboot: he'll be 24 or 25
Sky is seemingly the same. Idk if he started 17 and then became 18 at the end of his adventure, but he's basically said to be in similar age to Twilight. He finished his adventure 1-2 years ago, so hes either 18 or 19 Plus 3 reboot: 21 or 22
Wild is... Oh boi: 17. But now 117 technically cuz of the sleep thing. He finished his adventure less than a year ago so nothing's changed. But plus 3 reboot has him in: 120, or 20
And then.. Oh blobs.
Legend is gonna be a HEADACHE 😭😭😭😭
Im gonna make a guesstimate 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
Ok so he had about 4 or 5 adventures
A Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, KOHOLINT 😭 (Link's Awakening), A link Between Worlds, Idek if I'm gonna include Hytopia
ALTTP def took a year (I heard smth about a year passing when he finished?... Or there was a year break before Leg went off to OOS.) He was 16 or 17 in ALTTP so during that break or right AFTER he finished he would be about 17 or 18 in OOS.
OOS and OOA i'll hc to have taken under one year at most. So he'll be 19 to 20. And then... There was LA, and ALBW, and if were including it, Hytopia too. Those 2 (or 3 w Hytopia), happened within a year from the looks of things. So Leg will be about 20 to 21.
He finished ALL OF THAT, and had a lil mini break from his adventures for about 1 year Jojo said so plus 1 equals to him being 21 to 22 in Canon LU
Plus 3 in the reboot: 24 or 25 🧍‍♀️
And then.. Hyrule, OHSDFH
Help I searched at google and his first adventure it was said he started at 10 years old TT Then he started his 2nd adventure at 16.. Huh he had a long break before he went on a new one.
Rulie finished his adventure 2 years ago so he should be about 18 in LU canon. Then 3 plus reboot: 21
Next is Four. He's ROUGHLY about 12-15 in the start of his adventure, which his first being in Minish Cap. EDIT: In LU Canon, one of the earlier comics of Jojo, Four said he isn't a child. Implying he's of legal age. So he must be AT LEAST 18. For him to reach that age, he has to be 15 in minish Cap, then four swords must take a year, which makes him 16. So that, and then add what Jojo said he had a break after finishing his adventures for 2 years, that will FINALLY make him 18.
Then finally, plus 3 in the reboot: he would be 21 or 22
And lastly Wind: he is one of the only, or the only honestly, to have canonically dropped an age in the comic and I believe he said he was 12 when he set out. In Jojo's Q&A she said he finished his adventure 1 year ago. That means he's 13 in LU canon, and its further solidified when he said to Malon "I'm almost 14." THEN we add 3 in the reboot: he's simply 16 by then.
No we can't do much with Time. Malon was laughing when the guys guessed he was 60 years old. It's gotta be more than that IGSIUDFGISFG Regardless,.. ugh. He finished his adventure PHYSICIALLY 20 years ago, plus 3 in the reboot... there's 23+ years added to his belt.
Be reminded that the sources I got are from google and the people who stated these ages were also guesstimating everything. So you don't have to take these seriously or just take it with a grain of salt. But regardless, I'll be using these ages in Ava's story/ Ava LU Reboot... I might also apply these ages in my other stories Ava has with the chain-
Okay but with all their ages settled (mostly), do you know what all this realization means to me.
...I might be redesigning the chain...

Wish me luck guys. 🥹

I wanted to share an old theory of mine for how Kisaki found out about time leaping. I know at the end of the series it was implied that it was because Kisaki watched as Shinichiro transferred his power to Takemichi, but I wanted to share my theory from before us even knowing that Shinichiro was a time leaper. I thought that Kisaki's knowledge could be traced back to Naoto. Here's my train of thought:
During Takemichi's first time leap in chapter 1, Takemichi admits to Naoto about being a time leaper and being grateful to have seen Hinata one last time because he loves her so much. So from the start of the series, Naoto is always aware that Takemichi is time leaping for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In chapter 8, when Takemichi visits Akkun on the roof, Akkun asks him about time leaping for an Ultimate Love, Hinata. He also mentions that he knows it was Naoto that saved him and that he seemed to have somehow known in advance that Takemichi would be pushed, and him knowing this was because of time leaping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kisaki was watching this scene unfold, and at first it's unclear whether he told Akkun to ask Takemichi about time leaping or if Akkun pieced this together by himself, but later on it becomes clear that Akkun was unaware while Kisaki suspected Takemichi of time leaping.
Tumblr media
But how did Kisaki find this out?
The only person other than Takemichi who the audience knew was aware of time leaping at chapter 8 was Naoto. So maybe it was Naoto who told Kisaki about it? I thought that perhaps they knew each other somehow, and since Naoto was interested in the occult, he told Kisaki about the time leaping to some extent.
Naoto and Kisaki having some kind of friendship seemed even more plausible when Naoto said Kisaki's catchphrase in chapter 88:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This made me think that Kisaki and Naoto spoke frequently and recently enough to adopt each other's catchphrases. Additionally, in the following chapter we find out that Hinata and Kisaki walked home together from cram school, which sets a precedent for Kisaki and Naoto meeting at a young age!
It would have been very ironic if Future Naoto forgot about any friendship with Kisaki (because it was 12 years ago) and accidentally helped Kisaki along the way as a child. Similar to the way Takemichi was implicated in Hina's murder in the Bad Toman timeline, I thought that past Naoto would be revealed to be accidentally involved in Kisaki's plan.
I still like this theory because in the final chapters when it's revealed that Shinichiro transferred his powers to Takemichi, Shinichiro only vaguely describes the power to Takemichi. Also, it seemed a little odd to me that Kisaki would have believed that Shinichiro actually transferred a magical power to little Takemichi. I would have thought that Shinichiro was just trying to console him. Unfortunately we'll not get to see what exactly Kisaki was thinking in that moment or how he pieces together that Takemichi was time leaping.

To continue with my ventting.
I can't remember which blog said this, but they said something along the lines that it will take time for Chris to rebuild his career once this shitshow is over. They were talking about how this shitshow has gone on for so long and how bad the situation has gotten that it is now even starting to affect the general public's opinion of him.
This shitshow has gone on for far too long and is so bad that personally, I don't know if the fandom will ever recover, but it will definitely not ever be the same. The fandom was divided into many factions because of this mess that Chris created. Chris willingly chose to allow his fandom to be used, to be gaslighted, and to be labeled as crazy by his team. He allowed his POS, lazy ass leech of a brother to call his fans crazy. Chris has used his fans for many years, but this time, he went too far. I honestly don't know if he will have as large and as devoted fandom ever again. The fan base that supported him through thick and thin, that went to bat for him when the leaked dick pic was accidentally released and pretty much saved him, I believe that is gone for good. Chris will never have that support from the fandom ever again, in my opinion. There has been too much hurt, too much disrespect, and too much division for there to be the level of loyalty that once existed when that dick pic surfaced. I blame Chris and his team for that.
I'm waiting for this crap of a PR stunt shitshow to end. After that, who knows. I will say this it will take a long time for Chris to build his career and his fan base. He may successfully rebuild his career, but I highly doubt he will have the fan support he once had. And that is on him. He has no one else to blame but himself.
I hope that when this is over and done with, Chris will seek out a highly qualified and reputable therapist and has done the help he needs. I also hope he fires his entire team, CAA, Meghan, and especially Ilaria. I hope he finds a really good, decent agency to represent him and an agent with a strong moral compass who won't let this shitshow happen again. I hope he gets rid of all of his friends who are leeches, starting with Tara,Jamie Chung, and Mark Kassman. I hope he sets boundaries with those friends he chooses to keep in his life. I hope he financially cuts off his brother Scott. He's done way too much for that POS. At the very least, I hope he has it out with Scott and sets a timeline with Scott, telling Scott to move his ass to NYC, go to auditions on Broadway, and has 2 years to make it on Broadway and then he will cut him off. I really hope Chris does the hard work to better himself as a person and as an actor. Chris has no excuse not to get therapy. He comes from a financially affluent family. He is a millionaire several times over, thanks to his days with Marvel, so he has the means to get therapy. He has dealt with his issues by drinking too much, smoking tobacco cigarettes, smoking weed, and has been rumored to have tried cocaine or used cocaine. These aren't healthy, helpful, or productive ways to deal with his anxiety or other issues he may have. He needs to get help. More importantly, he has to want to get better. I really hope he chooses to get better and gets help. I also hope that one day, he publicly admits what he has done and sincerely apologizes to his fans.
As for me, when this shitshow ends, I will be relieved to finally see the end. After that, I don't know. I do know that for now and for a long time to come, I won't be spending any of my hard earned money on any of his work, nothing. As of right now, the last film of his I watched was The Gray Man. I have never been to a CC, and I doubt I will go to one he's involved in. I don't know if I will ever watch or support any of his future works.
I always side eyed Chris. I never truly bought into the image that Disney and his team created, especially when he got involved with his married Gifted Co star. I refuse to say her name because she is a POS. if you know the history of their relationship and what her SM media was like before the cleanup, you'll know why I don't like her.
I understand that Chris is a loyal person to his friends and family, but at some point, you have cut off toxic people. I have had to do this with many of my aunts and uncles, first cousins, and other family members. I'm the process of distancing myself from my sister because I've had enough of her disrespectful attitude towards me. So, I understand how hard it can be to set boundaries with family and friends and to cut ties with toxic people, but he is going to have to do that if he is going to lead a healthy life.
I am a fan of Sebastian Stan. He is #1 for me. Chris has always been second place. Sebastian, in my opinion, has always been the superior actor of the two. He has also, in my opinion, been the better human being of the two. I am so happy that all of Sebastian Stan's hard work and dedication to his craft is finally getting him the recognition he so richly deserves.
Thank you for creating this safe space to vent. It is very much appreciated.

Some of my OCs are:
Abbot Gunter: Human. The abbot in a rural monastery somewhere outside of Jorvik. Hates being a monk to the point he’ll ignore some bad behaviors as long as he doesn't see it happen. If he does see it, God help you. Obsessed with book collecting. If you lend him a book, you are probably not getting it back.
Aldus of Jorvik: Human. Cloth merchant. Manipulative and scummy. Occasionally he means well. Most of the time he doesn’t. If it doesn’t benefit him, he doesn’t care.
Archbishop of Jorvik: Human. An actual person historically speaking, but as I do not like writing real people as characters, he’s never named.
Archbishop Roderic: Human. Becomes the Archbishop of Jorvik years after Brother Cellanus’s story. Abbot Gunter’s older brother. Has anger issues and a harem.
Brother Bennett Benedictus of Romanwood: Human. He is a skilled illuminator. He is a monk at Abbot Gunter’s monastery. All he wants in life is to be a father. Somewhere on the autism spectrum. Was an oblate. (Depends what part of the timeline the story takes place.)
Faelan: Brother Bennett's beloved but feral demon child. She likes flowers, setting things on fire with her breath, and drawing. She does not like baths or praying. Her father makes her participate in both for her own good. Despite this cruel injustice, she loves Bennett.
Brother Cellanus of Jorvik: Human. A cheerful monk living in Jorvik. He is a monastic priest and ministers to the local prostitutes. He is determined to convert as many pagans as he can. Probably has ADHD. Used to be an oblate.
Brother Felix: Faun. He is a monk, Brother Cellanus’ caretaker and companion. He was hired by Father Abbot as Cellanus kept getting himself in trouble. He’s laid back and very stoic. (Except when it comes to saytrs.)
Brother Finley: Half selkie, half human. From the Orkney Islands. A little crazy and very traumatized. The new novice master in Abbot Gunter’s monastery.
Brother Eberwolf: Human. Mad scientist monk. One of Abbot Gunter’s flock. Cheerful but completely insane with little to no regard for ethics.
Brother Maldwyn. Human. Ex-prince, current monk. The cellarer of Abbot Gunter’s monastery. Very easy going except when he feels that you’re wasting his time. Brother Theobald’s lover.
Brother Theobald of Pocklington: Human. The novice master of Abbot Gunter’s monastery. Cares for his students but is extremely strict and uptight. Brother Maldwyn’s lover.
Emmeline: Human. Cellanus’s older sister. Sex worker. Very caring but will also fight back if need be. Can be scary (only to Cellanus though).
Father Abbot: Human. The abbot at Brother Cellanus’ abbey in Jorvik. Exasperated by Cellanus’ antics but loves him as a son. Thinks he is savvier than he actually is.
Halfdan: Human. Hervör's awful violent transphobic older brother. He likes to raid and kill monks.
Hervör: Human. She’s a sex worker in a Jorvik brothel. A bit of a tsundere but with yandere tendencies. She’s a trans woman, saving up money, and hates her brothers. She’s an ex-raider and feels only a little bad about it.
Master Hob: Hob/Fae. Brother Cellanus accidentally kicked a rock at him once and that was the cause of The Completely Unerotic Adventures of Brother Cellanus! He shows up sometimes.
Sister Maud: Human. An extremely powerful witch. Abbot Gunter’s right hand woman.
Send me some asks about my OCs please. Send in multiple if you'd like!

Yeah, Loki was definitely not taking any of this seriously. At this point, he theorized that the Avengers were laughing their asses off on this elaborate prank they were playing on him, and he decided to just wait it out. It had to stop at some point, right? There was no way that this “TVA” bullshit was actually, in any way, real.
At least . . . He believed that until he saw a familiar face.
Mobius had just saved him from being reset to the original timeline and they were walking out of the courtroom just as the doors opened and two TVA agents were walking another “criminal” in. Loki still wasn't buying this elaborate scheme so he didn’t really pay this new person much attention, until he heard the judge speak.
“Miss Y/N Y/L/N - am I correct?”
Loki froze, eyes traveling to the “criminal” passing him. He first thought that Thor had set this part of the prank up, but he knew his brother didn’t really understand how mischief really worked. Plus, Loki could tell Y/N wasn’t an illusion.
. . . So that meant she was actually here.
“Hey, wait, can I see this trial?” Loki whispered to Mobius, who glanced back at the judge and raised his eyebrows skeptically at the brunette deity. Loki added, “I just want to see a little more of how this place works, okay?”
Mobius was sure Loki was onto something and after a couple moments of thought, he agreed. At least this would give him a chance to get to know this troublemaker better, and they both shuffled into seats.
“You are correct, madame,” Y/N answered mockingly, a big grin on her face as she walked up to the podium. She then looked around in an exaggerated manner. “Well, do I get a lawyer or what?”
Loki smirked and the judge scoffed. “How do you plead?” The judge asked, dismissing her questions.
“What ‘crimes’ have I supposedly committed?”
“You have been accused of creating an alternate timeline that does not fit into the main continuum. You snuck into Odin’s vault using your Asgardian abilities  and when you used the fake Infinity Gauntlet and, in your attempt to enchant the Gauntlet to work like the actual one, you accidentally travelled forward in time and created a new timeline,” the judge summarized.
Loki smiled, amused and proud. He only wondered what led her to this.
“In my defense, I heard that my friend was in trouble and wanted to help out,” Y/N said with a shrug.
“Well, the enchantments were not supposed fully work. They were meant to just backfire on you and knock you unconscious, where you’d be imprisoned in the dungeon. But then you tried to use another powerful object in Odin’s vault which created a Nexus event, messed with your enchantment on the fake Power and Time stone, and here you are,” the judge explained.
“If I wasn’t meant to do this - why didn’t these ‘Time Keepers’ control my actions and make me do something else?” Y/N asked, changing the subject.
“I am not going to entertain you any further. In your previous statement, quote: ‘In my defense, I heard that my friend was in trouble and wanted to help out’ You have admitted your guilt and will now be reset,” the judge declared sternly.
Immediately, two TVA agents grabbed Y/N harshly and began to drag her away from the podium. Loki, who at this point had connected the dots that he was the friend she had been trying to help, knew he owed her one. He couldn’t just let her be reset and then be imprisoned. So, thinking rather quickly, he leapt up from his seat and shouted, “No!”
All heads turned to him. Y/N’s eyes went wide, not having spotted him, and Mobius was beginning to regret his decision. Loki turned to Mobius. “You need me to help you with this ‘sacred timeline’ stuff. I’ll only do it if Y/N stays,” he said, panting.
Mobius caught an angry look from the judge but his gaze settled on Y/N. After a couple moments, he sighed and relented. “Fine.”
Y/N and Loki cheered and she broke out of the agents’ grips, running to Loki who picked her up and hugged her. “That’s my girl,” Loki said, proud of her for her prank.
Mobius internally groaned. This was going to be a long day.
———————————
“So how do you know each other?” Mobius asked as he walked in-between the Asgardians, leading them to his office.
“Y/N’s been my best friend, partner in time, ever since I was little,” Loki said, grinning.
“Got it,” Mobius said, frowning. He could only imagine the mischief they had conjured.
———————————
After reviewing both of their files, Mobius had to step out for a second, leaving Loki and Y/N alone. “Let’s try to break out,” was the first thing to leave Loki’s lips.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “And suppose we do, how the hell are you gonna get the Tesseract back? Plus, I won’t wanna be imprisoned on Asgard,” she reasoned, quickly shutting the idea down.
Loki huffed. He was bored. He wanted to do something.
And he had something to do when Y/N stood up and started walking around. With a smirk, he grabbed the remote controlling Y/N’s collar and clicked it, immediately sending her back to her seat.
She turned and glared at him, and he just smirked, innocently shrugging. “I wanna have fun,” he said.
Y/N rolled her eyes and cautiously stood up again. When nothing happened, she walked around a bit more, and Loki let her . . . Until he got bored again. With another click, she reappeared on the other side of the room, in mid-walk.
Before she could protest, Loki did it again. And again. And again. He finally stopped when she got out the words, “CUT IT OUT!” and laughed to himself.
“You asshole,” Y/N grunted, beginning to walk towards him, but skidded back when Loki clicked the button just one more time.
“Oops. My finger slipped,” Loki smirked.
Y/N glared, but being reset made her lose her footing, and she tumbled to the floor, causing her best friend to cackle. Annoyed, she ran at him and managed to push him off his chair, tackling him to the floor. They rolled around, neither one gaining the upper hand for too long, until Mobius re-entered, saw the chaos, pulled Loki to his feet, and grabbed the remote, resetting Y/N so she was back in her chair.
“Hey!” Loki exclaimed, pushing Mobius off him. “No one controls my best friend!”
Y/N couldn’t tell if he was being serious or not, but smiled nonetheless. Mobius glared and grabbed Loki’s remote, resetting him so he was back in his chair. He then turned to them both.
“I’m beginning to agree with my colleagues that this-” he gestured to Loki and Y/N, “-was a bad idea.”

The Future Flash and The Identity of Savitar
Or how Season 3 could have still had Barry as Savitar but made it more interesting. And avoided the painful aesthetic that was the future Barry sporting a rats nest for hair.
So I remember one of the theories floating around for Savitar's identity after he dropped the 'future flash' comment was that he was Barry. Specifically the version of Barry from the future that Eobard erased when he murdered Nora Allen. Protected by the Speed Force, that Barry survived the change to history... but arrived in a future so different from the one he knew that he immediately sought to 'fix' it.
That theory and the one that Savitar was somehow Barry's time remnant that died at the end of season 2 were probably the two closest to the answer we eventually got. After all, the bad guy was Barry Allen in some form or fashion. I never put much credence into the season 2 time remnant theory, but I did enjoy the one involving the OG timeline's Barry Allen. The Barry that time (and the show writers) forgot.
Now, while I firmly believe that doing three seasons of speedster main villains in a row was way too much, I do think that the Savitar arc would've been greatly improved by having Barry face off against the OG Barry Allen. The version of himself that he's been quietly measuring himself up to all this time and found himself wanting. And suddenly here he is, trying to rewrite time to match what he's lost.
It works best if Barry didn't run off to create Flashpoint at the end of season two, I think. Though there will be a Flashpoint. It just comes later.
Savitar's arc is no longer his struggle to become a separate person from Barry or to break free of the paradox his very existence depends on. Instead, on arrival in the future he discovers the Barry of this timeline has been dead for months and now Wally is the Flash. Iris has their daughter Nora, but the twins are no where to be found. And being too different from this timeline's Barry, OG Barry can't simply slip into the life the other Barry left behind. This isn't his Iris, his Wally, his family... and when Barry decides to set right what went wrong... these alternate versions of the people he loves try to stop him. And while fighting Wally in order to return to the speed force in order to travel all the way back to that fateful evening in March 2000, Barry accidentally causes what he thinks is Wally's death. But, of course, he's going to fix that. He's going to fix it all.
The parts in the future might be shown as flashbacks from Savitar's point of view, scattered throughout the season. He's sympathetic - trying to fix what Eobard broke is a pretty natural reaction to finding that the timeline isn't what it was before. But what he's trying to do will wipe out the current timeline. He's trying to play god, in a manner of speaking, deciding who lives and who dies and casting judgement on an entire timeline for daring not to be the one he remembers.
Meanwhile in the current timeline, Barry's struggling with his grief. He lost his father and watched an alternate version of himself die to save the multiverse and he's struggling with his mental health. Part of him wonders if maybe the wrong Barry Allen died that night because he doesn't know how to carry on when everything hurts so much. There's also the arrival of his new coworker that's causing problems at work - Julian Albert Desmond - and the mystery of the cocoons that seem to be transforming people into metahumans.
In the midst of all this, Jay shows up and accuses Barry of altering the timeline. Which he very much hasn't. Clearing up the misunderstanding leads to the discover of Savitar, who is trying to reach further back in time, but seems to have hit a wall going any further back than 2016. Barry thinks the man in the armor is Eobard Thawne, which amuses Savitar but he doesn't give his real identity. Instead he curb stomps Barry and Jay, using their lack of experience fighting together in order to use them against each other. He calls himself Savitar, but also the Future Flash. Though much like canon Savitar, the way he says it is somewhat ambiguous so that it's not obvious to the characters that he's an alt version of Barry.
Jay leaves to investigate the Speed Force itself to find clues to Savitar's identity, while Barry focuses on the cocoon mystery. Dr. Alchemy would this become the season's secondary antagonist though I, admittedly, haven't really fleshed out his aims just yet. Though if I were to turn this into a fanfic series I'd probably take a look at some of his motivations from the comics and see what's there for me to beg/borrow/steal.
Savitar, of course, keeps showing up and is focused on Barry in a way that reinforces Barry's belief that he's Eobard Thawne back to ruin his day. He teams up with some of the metas created by Alchemy, but is visibly disturbed when Wally gains the abilities of a speedster and becomes Kid Flash.
Through this Cisco's developing his powers and glimpses visions of alternate timelines being created and destroyed by Savitar. Never the right timeline, so he keeps traveling further and further back. Cisco sees the timelines in reverse order until, finally, he sees far enough 'back' into the alternate futures to realize the true identity of Savitar - which would probably be the mid season finale point.
While the Rival isn't fast enough to help Savitar venture further into the past, it's soon clear Wally is. And Jay returns to explain what he's discovered - the Speed Force itself is blocking Savitar from going further back. Savitar was able to overcome her enforcers - the time wraiths and the black flash - and so she's had to create the equivalent of a physical block. Savitar's continual re-writing of the timeline has consequences beyond his understanding and if he doesn't stop he could rip apart the very fabric of their universe.
Savitar, however, manages to trick Wally and through him Barry and maybe even Jesse too. He generates enough speed between the multiple speedsters that he opens a breach and heads back to 2000 to reset the change that started it all... and get his family back the way they were. The way they should be.
Barry, of course, travels after him. And witnesses the creation of Flashpoint. But it's still not the timeline that Savitar came from. In fact, the world ceases to exist after 2024 in this timeline because... this time around there is no Flash at all. Barry Allen doesn't become the Flash because there is no particle accelerator failure. And the Eobard Thawne that Savitar dragged back to the future with him finally gets the last laugh because... this version of Barry Allen is literally not the Flash anymore. He's become every bit the villain Eobard has been. And, as far as Eobard is concerned, that means he won.
Meanwhile the Barry from our timeline stumbles into the new timeline's 2017. His parents are alive, but this timeline's Barry doesn't have powers and, being similar enough to our Barry, the two integrate. Which means Barry's the only Barry... at least until Savitar shows back up again. Until that happens, however, we see Barry losing his powers a bit more every time he uses them. Flashpoint would get more than a single episode's exploration here, with Barry struggling to accept his place in this timeline because he doesn't want to perpetuate Savitar's mistakes even as he realizes it means giving up his powers. But then Savitar and Thawne show up in the present because... if the timeline isn't reset, then the universe itself - and possibly the multiverse itself - will be destroyed.
Barry's already sacrificed himself once to save the multiverse. He isn't about to let that be in vain. So he agrees to an enemy mine situation with Savitar and the Reverse Flash. With the Speed Force no longer blocking time travel, the three of them easily return to the past even with Barry's diminished connection to the speed force.
Eobard, of course, double crosses them once in the past. He kills the version of the Flash that first arrived chasing after Eobard's own past self. Meaning there's no longer a version of the Flash to fight him in the Allen's family home or to stop him from killing the eleven year old Barry Allen.
Savitar is fading from the paradox this creates, since it occurred while he wasn't in the speed force it means he wasn't protected from the fall out. But he manages to do one final good thing. And he helps Barry to strengthen his own connection to the Speed Force again. Savitar - OG Barry - finally throws off pretenses and admits that he went too far and that he let his rivalry with Eobard go to far. Instead of accepting what he'd lost, he kept trying to force time to do his bidding and to give it all back to him. But this Barry could do what he couldn't. He could learn to accept his losses.
Barry becomes the Flash who fights with Eobard in the Allen family home and who shakes his head at S1 Barry to stop him from running in to save Nora. Barry is the one who saves his eleven-year-old self and who has to take a moment to watch from afar as his father is arrested for a crime he didn't commit.
When Barry returns to the present of 2017, it's much like the timeline he remembers. Except the events with Savitar no longer took place because Eobard erased him. And there's an implication that the Eobard who killed the version of Barry who became Savitar is the same one who had been menacing the Legends all season, so that still lines up nicely. The season could then end on a surprisingly quiet note, wrapping up the much lower stakes fight with Alchemy. And, perhaps, Barry proposing to Iris, whom he's been dating all season.
There would be hints that the timeline is more different than it might seem at first glance. Cisco's vibe suit is a little different. Caitlin's frost powers are more developed (no Killer Frost personality here). Maybe the circumstances of Henry's death are slightly different.

okay so like. ive read stuff saying like “orson scott card is explicitly homophobic but it doesnt come through in his writing” but like...it REALLY doesnt come through in his writing. he has multiple stories where characters casually mention/think about casual sex, sometimes with people of their same gender, and some of those characters are bad people, but theyre bad in ways that are like, mostly unrelated to being promiscuous or gay? like. to me it reads as a story about a bad person who happens to be gay/promiscuous. maybe its a context thing, and in his head this feels like a natural connection, but to me for the most parts its 100% progressive-passing, its very weird
like okay, for some spoilery examples: in Closing the Timelid, a guy named orion has a time travel device, that he sets up for his friends to use at a party to experience death, which he himself has done a bunch of times. it is mentioned (in a way that feels natural and normal) that casual sex, including between two women, is occuring at this party. the main character, a guy named gemini, uses the time machine and experiences death, which apparently feels very good. a future timecop comes by, because its illegal to change the timeline, and also theyre mad at orion for traumatizing random past people, and orion demonstrates that its okay they kill themselves by throwing themselves in front of a truck, because the trucker is going to die, so theyre not changing the timeline. however, it seems they have accidentally saved the trucker, so orion is arrested, until it tunrs out the trucker is so freaked out by running over like 10 people he kills himself, so orion is freed. however, gemini convinces orion that the only thing he hasnt experienced is true death, so if he wants to expand his horizons thats what he should do. they kiss, orion gets in the machine to go back in time, and gemini turns off the machine so orion doesnt go back into his future body when he dies. it is revealed that this he worked together with the timecop to cause this end, but the timecop is annoyed orion consented to it. this story came out in 1980, and like, idk, this doesnt really seem homophobic at all for 1980? like, idk, its a weird story, about a sort of fucked up person

Time Travel Stony Fanfic
Character from the Future travels to the Past
A Shadow Hanging Over Our Fate by CaptainDean13
Summary: The Avengers get sent back in time to WWII where they run into the Howling Commandos... complete with Bucky and Steve. Little hard to explain that away, especially when you are trying to keep some major secrets. Secrets like how you ended up in the future and why the hell Bucky is now a scary (reformed) assassin with a metal arm, not to mention that you married your friend's son.
Note: A 1000/10 READ. THIS IS SO FREAKIN’ GOOD THAT I READ IT 3 TIMES SINCE I FIRST FOUND IT LAST YEAR. It’s a nice and well written time travel fic with the howling commandos and past Steve and Bucky!!
A New Way For Us by ann2who
Summary: They fight Thanos—and they’re losing. And before Tony knows what’s happening, he’s standing with Doctor Strange in front of the Eye of Agamotto and gets send back in time. Can he find a way to fix things this time around, or are they doomed to fall apart all over again?
Note: This is where Tony went back in time to fix everything that went wrong and prepare for the arrival of Thanos! Due to an unexpected twist of fate, he found himself getting closer to Steve of all people!
Two More Miracles (To Be A Saint) by queenpenthesilea
Summary: “Get up, Stark, you sleep too much. You said you would teach me paper football.”
Tony’s eyes snapped open. No. No. Had it all been a dream? Had he just imagined five years – five years - of an idyllic life, complete with a beautiful, wonderful daughter? He pushed himself up, looking around; he was on the Milano – he was on the fucking Milano, and either this was a really weird version of hell or everything had been a dream. Or, a little voice whispered, something had gone horribly, horribly wrong with the infinity stones.
Note: A nice and juicy post-Endgame Time Travel fanfic!! Though, this one held a few what ifs.
Saving the World is a 12 Step Program by janonny
Summary: Tony and Steve fall to pieces when Thanos’ wins.
Then they pick themselves up, and find a solution. They also find something infinitely more precious in the process.
-
“It’s going to sound pretty outrageous,” Tony admitted, rubbing a hand over his brow. While he had put on some weight and wasn’t as gaunt anymore, he was still easily tired nowadays.
“More outrageous than talking racoons and a purple villain traveling through space to collect magic stones?” Steve asked drily.
Note: This is another post-Endgame fanfic but with a twist and different take on the whole time travel!
Oh, Snap by wedelia
Summary: Peter wakes up, and he’s simultaneously five years too early and right on time.
Or, Post-Endgame Peter goes back in time and accidentally-on-purpose gets Steve and Tony together before the initial snap happens. And, oh, yeah—he also recruits a former-Air-Force-pilot-turned-galactic-hero, has lunch with Black Widow, and somehow befriends Nick Fury. This changes things.
Note: It’s Peter who time travels this time around!!
If We Never Got This Second Chance by Pookaseraph
Summary: When Tony and Steve’s son from the future, Jake Jensen, arrives at Avenger’s Tower, the two of them are forced to confront some hard truths: Tony that he might not actually become a horrible father, and Steve that he might not be able to set aside his discomfort with sharing a child with another man. When they both get a second chance at a first try at fatherhood, it’s up to the two of them to learn from their own future's past.
Note: Anyone up for some future son time travel? Enjoy this nicely written fanfic of Stony’s future son traveling and meeting the past versions of his parents! Past versions that are not even together yet! Things are about to get weird for Steve and Tony.
Your Name on Every Wall by Sineala
Summary: The Time Gem throws Steve into the past rather than the future, and in doing so, it gives him the opportunity to undo his past mistakes. But when it turns out that all of his mistakes involve Tony Stark, Steve begins to wonder if he's ever going to be able to mend things between them.
Note: A unique plot where Steve travels to the future and realizes what he is missing on!
Together, At Dawn by RoseGoldAmpersand
Summary: Steve returns the Infinity Stones to New York and finds himself in conversation with Tony of the past. More mature and willing to listen to Tony he realises that what he previously thought were taunts was actually Tony flirting with him.
In light of this new discovery and alone in Tony’s workshop after the battle of New York, one thing leads to another...
Note: ohhhhh, some juicy smut anyone?
Don't Look Back, You Can Never Look Back. by iL0Vsuperman
Summary: Tony Stark: billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and, now, superhero.
It’d only been a few months prior that he’d revealed to the world he was Iron Man and life couldn’t be better.
That is…until he stumbled upon an old abandoned Hydra lab and kinda set off one of their machines by accident. A blast of blue light later and he found himself in the same lab…only it is seventy years earlier and it is full of Hydra agents.
Cue the entrance of the Howling Commandos led by Tony’s childhood hero, Captain America.
Suddenly, Tony is living out a dream. He’s joining up with the Commandos in the search to get Tony back to his right era. It’s the adventure of a lifetime and, at first, it’s amazing…but then he and Steve connect in ways more than just friendship and he finds that he is torn between wanting to stay with him or go back home.
In the end, whatever the result, he loses.
Note: Tony meets his childhood heroes-the Howling Commandos and Captain America!
The Future is Yet in Your Power by FestiveFerret
Summary: "Now." Wong leaned back in his chair. "What would you do to save this world from Thanos' attack? What would you sacrifice?"
"Anything," Steve said. "Anything at all."
Wong considered him for a moment, expression unreadable. "There's one thing, maybe."
Note: This is nice fanfic about Steve putting everything on the line to hopefully make a change.
The Good or Bad Thing by petreparkour for SeetheSea
summary: “It’s the metal suit,” Thor informed Steve, his normally-booming voice tinny over the SHIELD comms. “What did Stark call it—Iron Man?”
“But he’s down here,” Steve protested as the Hulk roared in Stark’s face, startling him into waking with a shout. “How could—”“It’s damaged,” Thor reported. “But it looks different. More advanced. And he—ah. He’s carrying you, Captain.”
“Please tell me nobody kissed me,” Stark breathed out, and then Stark’s voice suddenly came over the comms, but the man lying next to him hadn’t moved.“
Guys, come on, you’re killing me here. What is it, 2012? God, I hate time travel. First, I'm fighting Thanos. Now, I have to deal with my past self and Thor's bad haircut? Oh my God, Cap, yes I hacked their comms, they’re my comms.”
Steve nearly opened his mouth to protest that he hadn’t said anything when he realized that this replica of Tony Stark wasn’t speaking to him.
Note: Future Tony and Steve accidentally traveling in the past!
Character from the Past travels to the Future
hold the things you wanna say by SailorChibi
Summary: Tony is still a consultant, and between SI, the team and SHIELD he's overworked and exhausted. That's okay.
He and Steve have been having sex for weeks but that's all it is, just sex, and Tony wants more but he'll never get it and that's okay. Really.
What's not okay is the fact that Howard Stark has somehow appeared in the future and is the same as always.
This is definitely going to fuck up his schedule.
Note: ANGST! READY YOUR TISSUES.
Twice Upon a Time by TsaritsaElena
Summary: Tony Stark has never had an easy relationship with his father, but when Howard Stark circa 1983 time travels to the future in a freak accident, things get even more complicated, especially since Tony is dating his dad’s idol, Captain America, and Howard doesn’t know. As they work toward a solution that will restore Howard to his own timeline, will Tony get a second chance at a father-son relationship with his dad, or is he in for more of the same unforgiving treatment from Howard? Time travel, Avengers missions, and a secret project of Howard’s: things at Stark Tower are about to get a little crazy.
Note: SOME MORE ANGST AND HOWARD TRAVELLING TO THE FUTURE.
The Future Is Ours (Whether We Want It Or Not) by ann2who
Summary: After a hit from the Time Stone, Steve switches places with his future self.
Note: Another of Steve traveling to the future! Though this time, it features both timeline! Both POV of the past and future!
Ordinary Men by RiaRose
Summary: "Aren't you at all happy to see me?" Howard shot back, holding his glass out and pointing with his index finger. At Steve's stony face, he dropped his arm. "Want a glass?" he tried, picking up an empty tumbler, "This is good stuff."
"Tony doesn't skimp on - well - anything. And no, thank you."
"Was that Tony?" he queried, gesturing toward the hallway the other man had disappeared down. Steve nodded but didn't give any more information, so Howard repeated his earlier question, "Aren't you happy to see me?"
It took Steve a moment to answer. Howard could see his jaw working.
"No, not anymore."
OR
In which Howard travels to the future and just messes up everybody's day, Steve is conflicted, and Tony is a piping hot mess, as per usual. It's not going to be easy, but Steve and Tony have to somehow navigate through Howard's arrival and the strain it puts on their relationship.
Note: From the summary alone, you can tell that THIS WILL BE ANGSTY.
To Have My Time Again... by WilmaKins
Summary: It's been two years since Siberia, and Tony Stark is still dealing with the fallout - personal and political. Life is quite complicated enough, without Bruce falling through a wizards roof yelling that Thanos is coming.
Thor and Loki are stalling, but time is running out. The fate of the universe is at stake. Steve Rogers is back in the picture. Really, the last thing Tony needs is for their plan to go horribly wrong and bring Howard Stark forward in time.
But his Dad *is* standing in his office, whether he likes it or not.
So, it looks like Tony will have to fix that mess too.
Note: There is just something about Howard-travels-to-the-future fanfics.
Howard Stark Meets The Avengers by SerlinaBlack
Summary: Howard Stark unknowingly travels to the future with his son and wife. Luckily the heroes of the future were somewhat ready for it. Unluckily , they don't seem to like him very much
Alternative summery: when will Howard learn? Not now lmao.
Note: ANOTHER ONE.

Hi, spockandawe, thank you for answering my ask....If you don't mind me asking, what are your favorite moments from svsss (top 5 or top 3)? And why? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....
Oh, this........... this is a difficult question, which I’ve been pondering hard. I acknowledge completely that svsss is a less well-crafted novel than mdzs and tgcf, but I also love it very very much, even though I know it’s like. Junk food. I will live on a diet of junk food and love the whole experience, thank you very much.
Let’s see. Lord, this is going to be hard XD
5. I think I will say upfront that the 79 extras are going on this list, but I can’t bring myself to pick out anything specific, because I love the knowledge, but also they hurt me terribly much to read :( I was already screaming about Shen Jiu by the end of the book, but by the time I realized this was the canon timeline for Shen Jiu, and realized all the ways his (limited) healthy coping mechanisms were being turned against him...... they hurt me a Lot. I could scream about these extras for days. They live rent free in my head. I also don’t wanna read them again because I’m horribly fragile :(((
4. Liu Qingge and Shen Qingqiu’s succubus adventure. Look. I don’t have very elevated tastes. I’m a woman of simple needs, I just live for Shen Qingqiu getting his fortune told about who the great love of his life will be, thinking ‘hmmm, can’t think of any women who fit this description’ while Liu Qingge is like ‘wait, he’s going to marry the hottest person in the world? but? that’s ME????’ I want these two dumbasses on their dumbass adventure getting accidentally dosed with sex pollen and dealing with it by kicking each other into a convenient pond. They’re clowns, your honor. I love them so much.
3. Shen Qingqiu’s first suicide! It took my WAY off guard my first time reading, and I still find the whole build incredibly tense and delicious, especially with the mounting pressure of how powerful Luo Binghe is and how far his influence reaches, seeing him invading Shen Qingqiu’s dreams and steering the currents of the mob justice and wondering what the heck Shen Qingqiu is going to do..... and then THIS! Oh my goodness! At least part of my enjoyment comes from knowing the emotional fallout that waits in/after the five year gap, but it’s so fantastic seeing Luo Binghe at his angriest and most resentful, watching Shen Qingqiu accidentally stir up that anger and resentment even further and not realizing because he’s frightened, and seeing it all fall apart and come crashing down on Luo Binghe’s head. Luo Binghe just... suffers very beautifully.
2.  I find the climactic (hurr hurr) sex scene really, really compelling, even though it’s intentionally terrible sex. The whole buildup to seeing Luo Binghe following Shen Qingqiu around a collapsing mountain range, in the middle of a massive qi deviation, is massively creepy, and then when he snaps back to himself and sees what he’s done and the way that he’s hurt Shen Qingqiu, and realizes that Shen Qingqiu is killing himself, again, to save Luo Binghe, even though it’s the last thing in the world he wants... The way he asks why Shen Qingqiu didn’t just kill him instead......... God, the panic is palpable, and it just GETS me, every single time. I don’t have the power to remain unmoved in the face of this scene, haha.
(honorable mention moment to Luo Binghe thinking Shen Qingqiu abandoned him in the mausoleum and backtracking hard once he realizes Shen Qingqiu is horribly injured and barely standing, and also to the thicket of kisses back in the bamboo house. OH, and to the dream extra where we see Luo Binghe taking care of Shen Qingqiu’s body. AH, AND THE ABYSS SCENE. This book has a lot of moments I love!!!! I also feel bad there wasn’t room for moshang on this list!)
1. And I think my absolute favorite moment is also the pinnacle of Luo Binghe’s on-screen suffering, Shen Qingqiu accidentally helping Liu Qingge with a corpse heist. Luo Binghe is cold and unfriendly and is NOT putting on one of his nice faces, and he’s just so miserable! Look at him! Look at how sad he is! Look at him stubbornly hanging on to his last thread of hope after five years of suffering! He converted his bedroom to an icebox so he could preserve Shen Qingqiu’s corpse and pour spiritual energy into it for years, plural, in hopes of someday, somehow, getting his shizun back! He’s had no opportunity for closure, has only been abandoned and told that he is, by nature, unacceptable, he’s seen the shizun who hurt him deeply run from him and act against him and fear him, then before that fresh hurt had much time to set in, he also saw his shizun kill himself to save him! His primary face isn’t that of the sweet-faced manipulator of pidw, he’s angry and hurting and closed off and exhausted, and Shen Qingqiu, in his new body, gets to see a side of him that Luo Binghe would have hidden from him if he’d known he was there to see it. There’s something about that exhaustion, specifically, that comes through very strongly for me in this scene, and I could just read this part of the book over and over and over.

Okay, keep in mind I’m going to start my RE6 watch in, oh, fifteen minutes and haven’t seen it yet, so this bit of Leon flailing is based on what I have seen. This also relies on both the games and movies (and ignores the books and other bits of canon/pseudo-canon).
Under a cut because this went longer than planned and I think I forgot what I was going for after a bit due to Leon flailiing.
We meet our intrepid hero in RE2 (and technically, RE2 Remake, as they provide different bits of background on Leon). In the original, Leon was late because his girlfriend broke up with him, he got drunk, and overslept. In the remake, he was deliberately told to not come because the outbreak had begun and ended up going to Raccoon City when he couldn’t get a hold of anyone (I think that’s what it was). For the sake of argument, we’re combining the two. He had a girlfriend, she broke up with him because he had this crazy idea to apply to a police officer position in another city because he wanted to investigate insane murders of all things, dealt with the break-up by getting drunk, but was late going to the city because he was told not to come. In at least one RE universe, it’s established that drinking is a possible coping mechanism for him. No further details given.
So we have an inclination there but no further evidence of use. Not yet. In RE2, he still pretty optimistic, helpful, compassionate, and people-focused. Honestly, a pretty sweet guy who just wants to help people (and not be turned into a flesh-eating monster). By the end of the remake, we have some foreshadowing after Ada falls when the shadows fall over him and his face is grim. We have a hint as to what he could be.
The end of RE2 is full of betrayals and pain. He learns about Ada. He is horrified by Annette’s attitude toward the virus and her dismissal of her role in it. He is kidnapped by the government who, instead of helping him and Sherry, threatens her life to force him to work for him. The scene ends with him still bloody, hunched over, and shouting that she is just a child. Fucking ow.
His next bit is in Darkside Chronicles. Still pretty sweet, pretty optimistic, a trained fighter not flinching when attacked by monsters, and there’s a nice contrast between him and the more grizzled Krauser. Krauser is more cynical, more ruthless, not a bad guy (not yet), but unlike Leon, he tends to judge things in certain categories, like victims, weapons, etc. The most interesting bit of contrast between the pair is that Leon is far calmer about the monsters than Krauser, who is terrified and, between that and his career-ended wound, sees the viruses as weapons which can be utilized. At this stage of the game, Leon’s big concern remains helping people, as seen in his defense of Manuela. Even after his betrayal by the government, he looks at Krauser and never thinks of the man betraying him or hurting him. He fearlessly extends his hand to Krauser.
In DC, when the final scene of RE2 is referenced, he never mentions the government’s threats or his own forced employment. There is no canon reference to him telling anyone ever.
RE4 is just... fucking trauma. He deals with it with quips and puns and bad humor, but you can tell he’s frustrated and angry. He’s furious with the bad guys and how they treat Ashley and Krauser. He’s betrayed by Krauser and is confused by how Krauser chose his path (which hurts a bit, honestly). How Saddler uses the parasite to control and hurt him. Confirming Ada is alive and the betrayal inherent in that. There’s just... a lot going on for him in RE4. Still! He maintains his sense of humor, keeping Ashley’s spirits up, and flirting with Hunnigan at the end. He’s still holding on.
ID takes place after RE4. For the first time, he references his horror at how the government destroyed Raccoon City without trying to help survivors. He references his horror about the nightmare that was surviving in Raccoon City. He is, again, betrayed. He, once again, has the nightmare that is his own government thrown back in his face.
Still, he’s hanging on! He’s trying to be optimistic, but you see him faltering when Claire is angry with him at the end. Hell, I swear you see him trying not to cry at certain scenes.
Again, no reference that he’s tried to explain anything to Claire, and... yeah. I can see her trying to fistfight the government over all of this, and Leon repeatedly, desperately hopes to end these horrors without accidentally creating more.
Still holding on, though! Still hanging in there!
Damnation, in my opinion, is when we really see him start breaking for the first time. By the end of that movie, he’s realized how thoroughly the government has manipulated and betrayed him. The government couldn’t act in that country, but they knew he could and would and set him up. He just had to shoot a man to save him. He has Hunnigan, someone he trusts because Leon trusts easily and gets attached to people easily and she’s been working with him for years, insisting that she knew nothing about it. He’s exhausted, hurt, betrayed again, and with Sasha and later by himself, you see him drinking, the former with a flask used by yet another person he wasn’t able to save. No sign of optimism. No joking. With Sasha, he gives the suicide speech which could easily have been intended for both of them: you can’t eat a bullet not because life is good and worth living but because you chose to serve others when you picked up that gun and now you need to live for them.
RE6? More horrific betrayals. More... everything. It starts terrible and then keeps going.
By Vendetta, he gets vacation time and slinks away with a bottle. There is no indication that even by then anyone has any idea how terribly the government has betrayed him, and he’s stuck with them. When he wants to lick his wounds, he doesn’t go to anyone for help. He claimed vacation time, hid himself away, and pulled out a damned bottle.
So we’ve had hints from the start that alcohol was an acceptable coping mechanism in his head, even if we didn’t see any signs of self-medication until the end of Damnation. The guy also hides and tries to treat his wounds by himself. He never tells anyone about how much the government has fucked him over. He does try occasionally to reach out -- to Luis, to Krauser, to Jason -- and it didn’t help any because they all ended up dead
It makes me curious about what would have happened if Chris and Rebecca hadn’t found him in Vendetta. When his vacation was done, would he just have taken a deep breath, trashed the bottles, and greeted his co-workers with a dad joke? It’s also interesting that one of the few times we see him that hostile toward an ally is when he does take that time to tuck himself away and engage in behaviors we don’t see him normally display around others. He’s the guy who either breaks the tension or, if he’s fucked up, just withdraws. I don’t see him as an alcoholic, although that is a popular fan headcanon. That would take it more out of his control, put it more into the public arena. He keeps pain and unhealthy coping mechanisms private, with Chris and Rebecca literally having to hunt him down in a random location when he tucked himself away to drink.
Through his timeline, we see the ongoing betrayals and hits take their toll on him, we see him using humor less and withdrawing more, we see when he picks up that bottle in Damnation.
But we also see him pick himself up in Vendetta when needed and take to the battlefield and stagger to Chris and Rebecca after getting his ass kicked by Arias. By that time, he’s definitely no longer the bright-eyed rookie in RE2, but his core remains the same.
If Chris could just give him a hug instead of a bottle after Vendetta, I would appreciate it.

Techno’s victim complex
I’ll be the first to admit that as far as tier lists go, Techno’s character would not be high on my list. Part of that comes with being a fan of Tubbo, but the aspects of his character also have a part.
When it comes down to it, Techno and Tubbo’s characters are very similar in some ways. They both are very logic-based, introverted people who look for answers to this world’s problems.
A big difference between them is that Techno has a victim complex, and Tubbo does not. In reality it’s an interesting aspect to his character because it gives him a big flaw to balance out his power, but it can also make him unlikeable to some. I’ll be going into that a little deeper.
When Techno first joined the server, he was invited to join Pogtopia and help them overthrow the ruling government and take it back. During this arc he takes a canon life from Tubbo on Schlatt’s orders, which Tubbo ends up forgiving him for. He also takes a canon life from Schlatt and Quackity during this, by accident because of the blast radius. He leads the battle against Manberg, showing everyone on his side his private vault of weapons and armor. Once Schlatt is dead, which technically happened of his own accord by way of a heart attack/stroke, they elect a new ruler. Tubbo is thrust into this role by way of Tommy and Wilbur, who both give up the seat for personal reasons. Tubbo, who feels indebted to Wilbur and Tommy because they created L’Manberg together at the start, accepts the role despite never wanting it and also openly admits he doesn’t really know what a president does.
Techno watches this happen, and his reaction is deeply personal. He calls them all hypocrites, fools, for thinking they can replace one dictator with another right in front of him, fully ignoring his part in everything that’s happened. He takes their choices on personally, and believes he’s the only one who can right this wrong and that the only way to do so is to destroy L’Manberg. He tells Tommy if he wants to be a hero, he can die like one. An ironic line considering how noble Techno considers his own motives. He summons withers, and they along with Wilbur’s TNT create a sizeable crater. He makes himself into a tragic character, who in his fight for justice ends up destroying what he was originally fighting for, for the ultimate good of the SMP. It’s parallel to Wilbur in a way, as Wilbur is also accountable for its destruction but he is far more open to admitting his motives were personal, and doesn’t hide his opinions under a ‘noble cause’. Wilbur is naturally a tragic character, who after fighting for his nation back finds he can no longer see it as his own and would rather it and himself be gone than face what he or his nation has become.
After this Techno decides to move far away, “swearing off violence” while also building a new vault that is filled to the brim with wither skulls as the voices in his head still crave death. He keeps to his word and leaves everyone alone, until the Butcher Army arrive at his house. They are led by Quackity, and include Fundy, Tubbo, and Ranboo. They demand Techno pay for the crimes he committed to L’Manberg, specifically his role in its initial destruction. Quackity and Tubbo don’t even mention that he also took a canon life from both of them, which could be arguable cause for its own punishment. Techno is almost killed but had a totem on him which saves him from losing a canon life. In his escape he’s caught by Quackity and takes Quackity’s second canon life.
When he goes home he finds Tommy, who has escaped his exile camp and ends up taking him in. They grow close again and Techno agrees to work with Tommy until he gets his discs. Part of their goals is ‘minor terrorism in L’Manberg’, which Tommy is uncomfortable with but Techno assures won’t be bad. In reality he ends up summoning a wither again, causing damage to the rebuilt nation and threatening anyone he can until he receives all his items back. Tommy is clear from the start of their partnership that he does not want to hurt L’Manberg despite being exiled from it, and is focused solely on getting his discs back. It’s clear he’s gone through a lot in exile, but Techno never tries to find out any details or push Tommy to talk. Techno ends up giving him an ultimatum. Tommy either joins him in destroying L’Manberg and Techno will help him get his discs in return, or he has to leave Techno’s place and get them on his own. Tommy ends up choosing to team, but he’s uncomfortable with the idea and seems very unsure of his decision. They continue to work together until it all comes to a head when the community house is found blown up and Tommy is being blamed.
Tommy fights with Tubbo, and accidentally says the discs are worth more to him than Tubbo ever was. He instantly regrets it, the fighting stops, and he tells Tubbo to give Dream his disc. He tells Techno he’s changed his mind and will side with Tubbo, because following along with him makes him feel like he’s becoming worse than everyone he hates. Techno is deeply hurt by this, and ultimately teams with Dream and Philza to wipe L’Manberg off the map permanently. During Doomsday he and Tommy argue while the bombs go off.
Techno tells Tommy how betrayed he feels, how he feels that Tommy never viewed him as a person, but as a weapon. He mentions how back during Pogtopia Wilbur and Tommy never came to Techno or Tubbo’s aid, just sat back and watched while they handled everything. Although he didn’t fully admit it, he was jealous of how many people were willing to fight on Tommy’s side when he asked for it, and Techno felt like he had no one. Although it doesn’t fully fit in the timeline I want to double back on what Techno told Tommy and the hypocrisy of it.
He tells Tommy that Tommy doesn’t view him as a person, but more a personified weapon for him to utilize and cast away when he’s done. Techno is valid in feeling like this, but he never acknowledges that he is also guilty for doing this to Tubbo. Tubbo becomes a personified form of government to him, and his feelings towards Tubbo become deeply negative during his presidency despite Tubbo trying his best to do right by a country he never wanted to take care of. He blames Tubbo almost fully for the Butcher Army despite Quackity being the leader of it. Even after L’Manberg is gone and Tubbo moves to Snowchester, any time he greets Techno in chat he’s replied to with a “Silence Government”, despite Tubbo now living in his own isolationist commune and no longer participating in any form of government.
L’Manberg is destroyed and Techno returns to the tundra with Phil and Ranboo ends up moving nearby too. He and Phil end up forming The Syndicate, a hidden group of anarchists whose primary goal is to ensure no new governments are formed on the Dream SMP and to snuff out any signs of tyranny. They end up inviting Niki and then Ranboo to the group, along with another unknown person.  In his latest stream Techno has the Syndicate check out Snowchester, which he’s never been to but has heard could be a possible new nation and a new government. When they arrive he finds Tubbo, and questions Tubbo about the new place and his motives. Tubbo describes Snowchester as an isolationist militarist commune with no leader just equals. He discloses that they have nukes, and Techno asks who he could possibly need that much protection from. There’s no sarcasm in his voice, he genuinely doesn’t seem to acknowledge that he is Tubbo’s current biggest threat. He’s destroyed the country Tubbo lived in twice, and taken one of his canon lives, but won’t admit to himself that he in his own way sometimes acts like a tyrant by enforcing anarchy upon the entire smp. Tubbo ignores this and just says that people scare him, and ultimately Techno leaves but says he still wants to keep an eye on Snowchester.
We find out the members of the Syndicate choose to go by codenames of Greek gods and important figures, and Techno will go by Protesilaus.
Protesilaus is a hero from the Iliad. In the Iliad an oracle prophesized that the first Greek to step foot on land when they reached Troy would die first in war.  Protesilaus purposely leaps off the ship first upon arrival, and subsequently is the first on the Greek side to die. I think this is such an interesting name for Techno to choose. One could argue it’s an attempt at foreshadowing maybe a possible future death for him, but I don’t think so. Protesilaus makes himself a tragic hero. He fully knows what is the fate of the first Greek to touch shore and he went out of his way to be that person and let his story become known past his death. He made himself the victim and the hero. I think this is a great nod to Techno’s choices and how he, even sometimes unknowingly, makes choices that feed into his victim complex. I don’t think Techno actively wants to be considered a hero by any means, but his deep set beliefs in how he feels the server should be run makes him act as though he is the only one whose path is the right one.

remade pepper’s design since i wasn’t too confident in the original, i felt it looked too similar so i Tried to make this one more different.
ink sans belongs to @comyet ! more info under the cut
pepper is an ink variant for a still-in-the-works errorink au i’m making! basically, pepper (ink) and nyx (error) started out as childhood best friends and grew into enemies who eventually reconcile and become lovers. it’s a lot deeper than that considering they’re both accidental gods and there is no “good guy”/”bad guy” thing going on, they’ve just got issues with each other and themselves that they need to work out in order for a happy ending. this au heavily focuses on free will and choosing your own path rather than destiny or fate bringing two people together.
i named him pepper mostly because i like the name, but you can also interpret it as him peppering his presence into everything. he is technically a god, after all! and because he’s a god who can live forever i don’t really see him as sticking to one gender or one way of presenting himself. he’s very expressive and doesn’t care too much about the specification of labels, but for simplicity’s sake he is genderfluid and uses any pronouns, most commonly he/him, she/her, and it/its. he’s also queer, so to me that means he doesn’t care specifically about being gay or bi or straight or whatever. he’s just Queer.
pepper is a very complex character with a lot of issues. despite not having a SOUL, he still has a mind, which means he can decipher “good” from “bad” when he’s in an emotionless state. however, he can only detect one or the other and it is very strong, meaning that mistakes can occur and it’s hard for him to have a middle-of-the-road perception in an emotionless state. this leaves him weaker than he’d usually be if he couldn’t decipher good from bad. he also lacks a sense of self in an emotionless state. i like to think that pepper is also neurodivergent - meaning he has neurological disorders, namely autism, adhd, and ocd (which i have myself, all 3). or, if this doesn’t make sense to you, you can simply view him as coded to be such!
with his vials, pepper is usually well-meaning. if he isn’t feeling angered or anything like the sort, he’s always got the best of intentions. he’s a very decisive person because he lacks the natural ability to feel compassion, so he makes choices on how to do/say things and how to react to situations. he is kind, caring, protective, self-sacrificial, socially inept, humorous, enthusiastic, teasing, and peppy. he’s not the best at social situations due to his lack of natural emotion, but he’s trying! as for the self-sacrificial part..... maybe that’s best saved for later ;)
without his vials pepper can switch between being very isolated, asocial, and vague to being unpredictable, impulsive, and erratic. this usually depends on how his mind chooses to respond to his environment. if he is around something that is “good” or something that he knows won’t hurt him, he is unmoving, quiet, and vague in his words (if he chooses to speak coherently at all; in an emotionless state he tends to echo words/phrases as a means to try and focus on anything). if he is around something that is “bad” or something that he thinks will hurt him, he is much more responsive but less reactive to his actions.
pepper enjoys various activities! he loves to learn and engage in new and exciting situations. it’s hard for him to gain the complete trust of others at first because he can behave in a way that’s unexpected, but he enjoys making friends and talking to others. he tends to ramble, but like og ink, he has bad memory so he’ll stop mid sentence and forget what he was talking about. he’s very keen on committing to things he feels are important, mostly anything that relates to his purpose for existing. he likes to provide stimuli and experience it, so this can mean he’s very artistic. he also likes cats! and stargazing. drawing, singing, dancing, exploring, journaling, sewing/knitting, all of those are hobbies of his.
he stopped aging in his 20s, so there really is no telling how long he’s been alive for. considering he’s a god, you could pretty much guess anything beyond 25. BUT time doesn’t really have any relevance in this au aside from the fact that pepper and nyx were childhood best friends, and early into their adulthood things happened which caused them to become rivals!
in this au pepper had a past life as an unnamed sans for an incomplete au with only one timeline and no ability to reset, just like original ink’s backstory. the unnamed sans destroyed his SOUL like the original, being set free, and he was reborn into pepper. pepper has no memories of his past life, but he does have determination, which is why he can’t die no matter how many times he’s “killed”. this determination comes from his past life’s desperate want to be something, to not be forgotten, to not be lost to nothing. this determination comes in the form of black ink. i’m not quite sure how this will be utilized in the story of this au, i’m still figuring a lot of things out, but yeah.
for a long time pepper had no idea that he was a god, which meant he had never considered the idea that he might have a “special destiny”. he was a young adult when he found out, though, and well... i can’t say too much.
but, yeah! that’s pepper!!! feel free to ask questions about him ‘cause i love this little guy. some of this could be subject to change in the future since i’m still working everything out. but i hope you guys enjoy him!

if you could give 3 positive and 3 negative personality traits to each of the next gen, what would they be?
ooh love it. okay. we know i talk a lot. A Lot. i’m doing this in waves. first set of siblings under the cut (wcm). 2.9k. ily!
wyatt i think it’s say kind bc like. he genuinely tries really hard to be a nice person. considerate which is kind of the same as kind but again he like. he knows the elders almost killed him as a little kid he knows there’s a world where he does go dark side and that does weigh on him, so he tries to put other’s feelings first as much as possible. and then third positive trait ummmm generous which again is kinda all in the same category but it’s like. like wyatt is insanely talented not just like as a witch tho he’s that too he’s also like really smart but he’s not a dick about it he’s one of those kids who’s always like i’ll help u with your homework! what r u doing after school later! like. he has a wealth of knowledge and he doesn’t just sit on it he likes to share. this is one of the reasons henry jr is also so close with wyatt because like. they both share this genuine love and interest in the study of like old magicks so to speak like. histories of witches and demons etc most classes the rest of the next gen honestly find kinda boring. on the flipside his negative traits would be like um a tendency to play by the book he’s a little too strict not because he necessarily believes in it but more again he wants to stay in line so as not to get you know. murdered or w/e. another negative trait is a i would say wyatt gets like way too overattached, especially in relationships, but it’s not limited to that. yes he’s a jump then fall guy & i’ve written about this before (multiple times), but i also think it’s the same with like innocents. like the fact of the matter is is that you literally cannot save anyone but wyatt has never and will never learn to accept that and i think he gets. he takes it real hard whenever he loses somebody and gets really pissy and closed off in the aftermath. a third negative trait is like. overprotective. like. in my writings he’s not the twice blessed anymore but he’s still wicked powerful, and he’s also like. the eldest. so he kind of feels this burden to protect his family. it doesn’t help that throughout their youth like chris ever the demon hunter always sought out trouble and leo who Really Didn’t Want To Watch Chris Die Again kind of always passed on whatever the mission was to wyatt. which, yeah, gave chris issues, but it also gave wyatt issues! because in his head, it really is his responsibility to handle these things for his family. and, yes, sometimes he can relinquish this power a little bit like not actively hover over his family while they’re demon hunting, but if he’s not you know. actively there, he’s either scrying or he’s sensing (if he can do that idk) and just. he’s got this feeling that anything bad that happens to his family is his fault. like he has this great power, so if someone gets hurt, like, he should have been there because he definitely could have stopped it. however, this energy kinda harshes everyone else’s buzz, which is why the other tend not to involve wyatt in their plotlines too much.
moving on to chris who just for the record i already wrote for but thanks to the beauty of this site i accidentally clicked the wrong button & now it's gone. so. take two! i don't remember what i said. okay so first trait i'm giving him is. i honest to god cannot remember what i said previously no wait that's a lie because i remember now because it was interesting. because i think chris is interesting, and i think that's a good thing. because like. i wouldn't describe him as likeable i would not say he has the personality trait of Likable™ because like. he doesn't. but people still really like him. because he is interesting. like they see him and go huh wow i wanna know what's going on there all in all i think people kinda gravitate towards him. but of course flipside i think he doesn't necessarily choose to become friends with everyone who approaches him i think he tends to be a bit picky just because you know he's so guarded so i think he has friends but no like. really super close friends. so like first negative trait is he kinda appears aloof because i mean. he's kinda gotta lotta issues you know and it's not something you can really easily explain to someone non-magical because magic is so deeply ingrained into who he is (which also adds to the aloofness because there are just certain topics he'll drop certain things he just won't talk about and its not because he doesn't care or anything it's just like. that's a really big reveal and rather that spin some elaborate web of lies i think chris just like straight up does the i can't tell you that bit, which makes him seem you know well like aloof kinda a little bit dickish). and then of course there's also like. like a lot of vulnerability involved in understanding who chris is he really doesn't have any middle layers nothing that sits between the surface mortal chris and the charmed chris with an inferiority complex it's either you know it all or you know. he just seems aloof. but again like. i think he's interesting. so much so that a lot of people are just kinda willing to look past that. so like. a lot of just external relationships. surface level. & then another defining trait of his on the positive side is clever. because like. he's smart. like i think he's a really skilled witch i think he's an excellent spellcaster and then like. i also think he can do math and stuff (in my fic he is a coder so like. yeah.) but i think it's kind of beyond just like Oh He's Smart i think it's the way he applies his brains applies his knowledge that really kind of sets him apart from the rest i think he really is clever. and then third positive i think chris is resourceful. i think like. i think he likes to have a sense of indepence away from his family because like. i mean he is a halliwell and he doesn’t shy away from that but at the same time he doesn’t really want to like. lean on that rest on well the thing is it’s not even his laurels to rest on. he wants to have this sense of independence and he’s actually p good at getting it. like i having him living on his own (so 2 speak, he has like. 4 roommates? i’m p sure) and yeah he’s not super great at it from just like. a living perspective you know but he’s making it i think like paying his own rent all that and yeah like the food he eats isn’t great and his room is kind of always a disaster but like. he’s made it p far i think a lot farther than people thought he could no disrespect. so i think he's really able to take what lifes gives him and make the most out of it i don't think he likes to coast by on others' accomplishments. which kinda segues into the second negative trait which i think you probably could guess he's overly-independent like independent to a fault. because like. i think he really wants to define himself with kinda comes in a two-fold way because like. okay in-family he wants to. okay so like obvi, there's a major drop off in power between him and wyatt. and i think he's always kinda been insecure about it think what on earth caused such a cosmic fuck up that he's just a telekinetic and then his brother is like. a baby god. so i think chris really feels this need to prove himself worth of a place in the warren line like cement his skills as and really say you know i deserve this title. and then flipside!! he really doesn't want to rely on titles you know he doesn't want respect because he's a charmed one or because he's a halliwell he wants respect off his own merits he wants people to know him by his actions not the legacy he carries. (also maybe gives reason for chris to occasionally use the name chris perry in the altered timeline??) and then. kind of building off that negative trait for his third one i'm saying listless because like. i think the crucial difference between the chris from the dark timeline and chris from the light timeline is like. darktl!chris has always had purpose. like yes it's a shitty purpose it's a burden it's too much to place on one boy but he is the last halliwell you know it's like basically all on him to stop wyatt from you know annihilating the world. (someone should probably tell him the cupitches exist in the dark future lmao) you know from like very very early on in his life darktl!chris has known he's destined for something big and honestly he might fail but he's gotta give it the ole college try because this is the world on his shoulders he's gotta put up a good fight for it. lighttl!chris literally does not have that. he does not have some grand, epic purpose, some monumental destiny to fulfill and like. what is he supposed to do, you know? why is he here? and he feels like he should have some epic destiny hmm well no not exactly he wants some epic destiny but he feels like if there were some epic destiny to be had it'd probably pass over him in favor for something better just like everything else in his life does. like why is he here? literally why is he here i mean okay so like disclaimer is that chris in my story is like. 20/21 and um. also a college dropout lmao haha and like. call a spade a spade we're probz looking at some undiagnosed depression here like give him a zoloft he'll be fine but like. chris feels like he's kinda on a raft in the middle of open ocean in a sense like. the best option is to pick a direction and paddle and hope he reaches land but he's literally in open ocean there are no markers no indicators he doesn't know where to go and like. if he picks wrong he's just heading closer and closer to nothing at all emptiness death whatever And There's No Way To Know Which Way Is Towards Land. and if he fucks up, like, he's screwed. shout out to all my early twenty-somethings. woot woot. but yeah. i think chris really wants a sense of purpose that simply put he does not have and honestly? will not be getting. i am not giving him a prophecy. i am not giving him a destiny. he will have to live with that. and, at this point in his life, i think he's doing a p bad job at that. lmao.
melinda!! baby girl. angel. honestly? i'm going to give her kind too because i think a large part of her just really wants to help people. i've previously called her the most-whitelightery of the next gen, & then also she is currently going to school with designs to become a nurse because like. she's also an empath you know and i think she definitely has aspirations to kind of mix her magical and mortal sides find a balance of both worlds and use her magic powers to enhance how she can better care for people in a mortal way. i'd also say she's really understanding. like, she's the third sibling to the wyatt-chris duo And she's an empath like. even if she doesn't get it, she gets it. like. things are complicated relationships are complicated like she can literally feel all sides of the story whenever there's a wyatt-chris-leo argument and like. what? is only one of them right? is only one of them allowed to feel the way they feel? no. she gets it. she all kinda understands where they're coming from. she understands. and then third positive trait she's really loving. like she's not a person who's stingy with her love (in a platonic sense. i think it a romantic sense it gets a lot more complicated because like. as an empath on the first date well it's just too weird man and it's. it's not like she can't keep her feelings sorted it's just like knowing exactly how they feel about her….. like it's weird. pass.) but i think she really like. i think she loves her family i think she loves her friends like. ❤. wow. on the more negative side i think she kind of like. self sacrificial. like she'll goes to the ends of the earth for the people she loves before she ever stops to think about herself. she doesn't. like she won't self advocate she won't draw a line in the sand when it comes to the ones she loves she fails to um. to see how sometimes her needs might actually be more important that others like. like if she loves you she will walk until her feet bleed. like. you have to be real careful because like. if you ask her to do something like she'll do it you can tack on that "but it's fine if no you don't have to" because if she feels your need to have this task done she'll do it. it's for love. but it's not good. (she will also extend this to non-loved ones again if she feels their need their like desperate need because at the end of the day she's a giver. hey kinda like the giving tree. i think she loves that book.) i also think she's just a shade naive and i kind of hesitate to use that word because like. i feel like it implies kind of a lack of worldly experience and like. melinda has seen a lot. but i think she like really does kind of see the world through rose colored glass i think she believes that people are intrinsically good and want to help each other and um. this can kinda tee her up for a lot of heartbreak and/or disillusionment with the world when kinda the reality is placed there right before her and it just kind of blows. i think it kind of hurts fresh every time. and then a third and final negative trait i think she like takes on too much, from an emotional standpoint, and doesn't really give anything back. kinda the same as self-sacrificial, but like with a twist. like, yes, as established, she has a lot of love in her heart, and she will take on her friend's emotional burdens (as well as any other burdens they might have for her) but then kinda gives nothing in return. she's a bit guarded in a sense. because again. this all comes back to the empath thing. kind of build on the dating thing. you really get live feedback on what exactly they think about you when you unpack, and like. melinda can't take that. she's too in her head on how this directly impacts their view of her and then she's just reading them and not focusing on her own problems you know like. like ladies if you've ever hit like. 1:30 in the morning at a slumber party when shit starts going from hehehe chetoh doost lasdkajldf to like. i don't think i could ever reasonably get married because divorce has really been the only constant in my life and i genuinely don't think i could trust another person enough to tie myself to them legally.? that's melinda's mcfuckin time to shine i think she does play therapist/peacemaker like a lot she likes it because again. she likes helping people! especially the people she loves!! but um. she'll never partake the other direction she really doesn't like getting vulnerable herself because like. you know if your friends are lying to you like you say something really personal and then cap it off with a y'know? and they all go yeah totally but you can feel them going what,,, the fuck. no?? like. like melinda could not take that it has not happened to her yet (probably) but she's come up with the hypothetical and she could not take that. this doesn't really extend to family just because she knows them so long like oh what chris thinks she's lame? okay. wyatt thinks she's overreacting? yeah i know what i've seen buddyboy. & then. for the record. neither or her brothers would never think she is lame or overreacting even If melinda is being lame or overreacting because they just like wouldn't they know her too well. but melinda's def the person who comes up with worst case hypotheticals in regards to her relationship/empathy powers like. all the time.

I had a thought while watching one cc show that when Scorpius first got back he accidentally slipped and called Draco “sir” instead of “Dad” and then he has to tell Draco everything about who he was in the dark timeline - do you think that could happen?
Oh I think this is exactly how it happens. I’ve actually had this headcanon for a while. Scorpius stands in McGonagall’s office and tells them what happened because he has to, but he skillfully skims over the details about Draco. He does it to protect his dad. To spare him the judgment from others, save him from his own, and partly because saying it out loud makes it real in this world too. No, Scorpius is going to bury it because that’s what is best. Except Draco can tell when he’s holding something back. He always has. But Draco decides not to call him out on it in front of an audience. He’ll ask him about it later on. Except there is no later on. Scorpius goes missing again and Draco fears his own failings have finally caused him to lose his boy.
Between their return, recovery, and classes, this specific issue doesn’t rear its ugly head again until the summer. Despite the reveal of Delphi’s true identity and intentions, McGonagall still enforces their cancelled Christmas and Easter is spent catching up on missed classes, so Scorpius doesn’t get back home until June. It’s been months since the events of October and so he’s been lulled into a false sense of security. But that first night home brings back the nightmares tenfold. He thinks it’s just because this is the first time he’s been separated from Albus since… since that place. And so he writes a letter the very next day and makes sure to place a photo of the two of them together on his bedside table. He goes to bed that night hopeful but wakes up in a cold sweat and a silent scream on his lips. This goes on for a week until that scream finally escapes his throat and Draco rushes in, wand raised ready with a lumos. But in the murkiness of sleep and the confusion between dreams and reality, Scorpius is blinded by wand light and then struck by fear of the loose blond hair behind it. He doesn’t register his dad’s mirrored horror, just of what could possibly be following it. He violently flinches back and gets out a ‘sorry sir’ before he’s even realised what he’s done. Draco is silent. All that can be heard is Scorpius trying to catch his breath between barely suppressed sobs. Then suddenly the lights are on and Draco slowly approaches, wand out of sight and hands where Scorpius can see them. Draco has no idea what’s happening but as he looks from his son’s trembling body to the letters and photos scattered on the bed beside him, it all falls into place.
“Scorpius… it’s me. Do you need me to get Albus? I don’t care what time it is, I’ll make sure Potter sends him through.”
That makes Scorpius choke out a laugh. He can just see his dad arguing with Harry through the Floo as Ginny ignores them both and tries to wake Albus up because she knows like mums always know. And as nice as it would be, to have the confirmation he’s okay, Scorpius doesn’t need that right now. Albus is safe at home with his dad. So why did he just now feel like he wasn’t safe at home with his? That’s when the guilt sets in and those words start to playback in his head. He must look like he’s going to be sick because Draco moves as quick as he can, clearly trying not to startle Scorpius again, but needing to reach the small bin by his desk for Scorpius to throw up into. He makes it just in time, but the gentle hand rubbing the back of his neck only sets off his tears again. He’s not afraid anymore, just ashamed of ever thinking his dad could hurt him. So he confesses it all. Sat there in his sweat soaked pajamas and smelling of sick. Scorpius can’t look at his dad as he spills their worst fear. But as he feels Draco start to retreat into himself, Scorpius looks up and fiercely tells him he’s not that person. He speaks with as much passion as Astoria would whenever she told him he was a good man and the kind of dad Scorpius deserved. The best. They know they need to talk about this again someday but for now, it’s enough. Draco vanishes the sick and freshens Scorpius’s pajamas and asks again about fetching Albus. Scorpius properly laughs this time. He says no and waits a beat before nervously asking if he’ll stay instead. Just until he’s fallen asleep. Draco gets on the bed beside him and lowers the lights. He pulls out a photo of Albus and Scorpius from underneath his back and asks Scorpius when it was taken. It’s exactly the right thing to do. Scorpius is smiling before he’s even launched into the tale of Albus chasing his last chocolate frog around the empty common room on Christmas day. He falls asleep with a smile still on his face and Draco stays long after it’s faded. He turns his head and looks across at the photo of Astoria also on the bedside table. He feels all the love and loss and failure and progress he’s experienced in the last hour alone and can’t stop the few tears that escape.
The next morning he’s awoken by a kick to his shins and Draco is taken back to Scorpius’s toddler years. He sits up and looks down at Scorpius still fast asleep and makes a decision. He quietly gets up and heads straight to the Floo. He manages to catch Harry as he’s eating breakfast, already dressed in his robes ready for work. He gets straight to the point. Scorpius had a bad night and while he’s better now, he knows he’d really appreciate a visit from Albus today. He knows Harry doesn’t want him at the Manor but he asks, father to father, if he’d put aside their history again for the sake of their sons. Harry must see the desperation in his eyes and as much as he hates that, it’s worth it when Harry finally promises to send Albus through as soon as he’s awake, if he wants to go. That makes Draco laugh. “I’ll see him shortly then. And thank you.”
When Scorpius comes down later on, it’s to find his dad and Albus sat at the table together. He doesn’t know who to run at and hug first. Luckily Albus is up and moving towards him before he has to make a decision, but once he’s over the initial shock of Albus finally visiting his home, he turns to his dad and gives him an equally bone crushing hug.
“Thank you. For Albus and you know, for last night.”
Draco lovingly pats down his son’s messy bed hair because there’s nothing to say. Scorpius should never need to thank him for that. He’s still learning, but he knows that’s what dads do and Draco, ever the Malfoy, is going for gold. So he pushes him back towards Albus who’s clearly itching for a tour. He’d just been telling him how Scorpius would use the ladders in their library to play hide and seek fearlessly up on the shelves. The image of a seven year old Scorpius hiding amongst the books had him laughing. He knows he can’t wait to tease him about it. So Draco ushers them out of the kitchen with the promise he’ll let them know once breakfast is ready. As the door shuts behind them, Draco stands there for a second and just listens to them talking and laughing as they catch up. The sound erases any reminding doubt that they can’t get through this. Toddler or teenager, Scorpius will always bounce back. Just like Astoria said. And if she’s right about that, then maybe they’re both right about him being a good man too.
------------------------------------------
(I often wonder if Draco would ever cut his hair or at least offer to after Scorpius’s strong reaction to it loose. But the more I think about it, the less likely I think he would. I’m sure he’d do it in a heartbeat if Scorpius asked or if it was a persistent issue. But it’s not. It was just that once. Plus, I personally think his long hair is a link to Astoria. He may have initially grown it out because he’s a Malfoy, but I think he keeps it like that because Astoria liked it. I imagine her reaction the first time he got it trimmed when they started dating told him so. Ever since then he’s always kept it long for her. I think Scorpius knows this too. I’m sure she often told him she loved his hair as much as she loved his dad's. So even if Draco does offer, he’d tell him no. His mum loved his long hair and he refuses to let that world tarnish that memory. Draco would agree, but he’d also keep it strictly tied back afterwards. It stays like that until the following summer when Scorpius cheekily uses a quick charm to undo the ribbon and laughs as his hair falls in front of his face, covering the pages of the book he’s reading. He doesn’t do it to prove he can cope, that doesn’t even cross his mind, he does it because his dad promised him a trip to Flourish and Blotts and he’s given up waiting patiently for him to finish his chapter. Draco threatens to cut his book allowance but they both know he doesn’t mean it, especially not when Draco realises Scorpius didn’t react just now. From that day forward, Draco doesn’t always bother to tie it back in the mornings or at all on days when it’s just the two of them. But it takes another couple of weeks for Scorpius to realise his dad is wearing it down again. He immediately gives him a hug in silent thank you.)
